ok ok ok so i think i kinda completed my remus & sirius conversation…thing that i was writing in my messages app lol

i haven’t actually compiled all of it in one place yet so idk how it’ll read bc it’s so spaced out in terms of writing and stuff and i’ll almost definitely to edit and add some more bits and pieces but it’s so. different from what i usually write? like way more dream of consciousness and almost too flowery? and it feels—incomplete but i’m wrestling w the urge to pad it with unnecessary details lol

Norm may have been out of the loop, initially. But he picks up on the facts very quickly. Maybe a bit too quickly.

No Fairy have ever asked Timmy about his experiences when he was human. Nor did any Fairy ask him how it was like to become a Fairy. Norm's the first being in 200 years to do it and Timmy's.

Uncomfortable.

In one conversation, they learned more about each other than Timmy liked. With one response, Norm has learned more about Timmy's current state than Timmy realized he'd given. More so, Norm knows more about Timmy's fate than Timmy does himself.

She hears him calling her name as she flees down the spiral staircase, almost tripping over her feet in her rush to get away from him, but he catches up quickly, reaching out to grab her arm in an attempt to slow her down. She stops running immediately - she supposes her traitorous body wants to see what he has to say, or maybe it just wants to bask in his intoxicating proximity. He crowds her space, and she sees that unfamiliar look in his eyes again. So very different from the cold disdain she had seen the last time she had been this close to him, during the argument that had ended their friendship.

Oh, Merlin, he's getting closer to her, and she can now clearly see the freckles dusting his cheeks and nose and forehead and then before she knows it, his hand is sliding up her arm, leaving goosebumps everywhere he touches and then he's caressing her jaw with his rough thumb and he pauses. Her eyelids flutter closed as her head tilts towards him - she couldn't stop herself even if she wanted to (what does she want?). She can feel his warm breath ghosting over her lips and she has the improbable, ridiculous thought - how is he remembering to breathe? - before he speaks. His lips brush against hers with every soft word and a deep shiver runs through her body.

"I," she hears him say, his voice so, so low, "haven't been able to think since last week."

That's all she needs to hear, the brush of his bottom lip against hers all she needs to feel, to push her into closing what minuscule distance there is between them and then his lips are on hers and it's better than anything she's been imagining. His mouth is soft against hers, insistent, and her hands go up to grip the collar of his plaid jacket to make sure he doesn't go away or disappear on her.

Respectfully, anyone who believes that Roxas shouldn't have come back in kh3 is wrong and also doesn't know how to make a satisfying end to a characters narrative.

I could maybe forgive thinking Naminé or Xion shouldn't have returned, as they at least got to make the informed decision to return to their counterparts themselves. It would still be wrong but I can at least forgive it.

But Roxas? His entire story is about being allowed to be yourself regardless of what anyone else around you says you should be. It doesn't/shouldn't matter if he comes from Sora, because he is someone else entirely. It's his life, not Sora or anyone elses. Having a story like that end with him being violently forced to return to Sora when he doesn't even know anything about what's going on is flat out bad writing.

Did he accept that he had to die for Sora? Well, sure, but only after getting to beat him within an inch of his life. Only reason he accepts it is because he literally has no other choice but to. He can't keep clinging to the anger and misery at his circumstances forever.

And, you know, it probably helps that the person this was all for also fucking hates it. In no way is Sora happy about what happened to Roxas. Of course he'd bring him back, it's Sora. The situation is so unfair and tragic that having it end with him just staying in Sora forever would literally go against the essence of the entire series.

Kingdom Hearts is, at it's core, a series about bonds. Roxas was established basically immediately as having very important bonds! His best friend literally died for him! He has friends that don't even know it because it was another version of them, but they still feel that bond to him anyway! You really think they should've just thrown away a character whose bonds transcended the boundaries between data and reality just like that? Get real.

There was a certain type of guilt that accumulated when you know you’re the reason your boyfriend was shipped off to join the airforce.

Steve got consumed by it pretty quick.

They got caught. Steve really didn’t think he was that loud during sex and usually that would be true. Except apparently he was that loud while bottoming.

Neil hit the roof and Billy was gone like that.

He came back a year later. After Neil ran off to Alabama or Texas or Florida. Somewhere in the south.

Billy’s mullet had gone. In its place, there was a slightly grown out crew cut, hair already making an attempt to curl despite the lack of length. He’d gotten six new tattoos, including one in a language Steve didn’t understand. Probably Irish.

He’d left the Air Force the moment Neil disappeared. Apparently it had been a lot of standing around or sitting in aircraft carriers. Dishonourable discharge because Billy had shown great aptitude for flying but a complete disregard of authority.

Plus, Steve had never met anyone who was more vehemently anti military in his life.

They tried to pick up where they left off. Billy insisted that he was fine, he’d seen absolutely no combat and he’d gotten on with his bunkmates.

It wasn’t exactly Billy who was the problem.

Steve was paranoid. It was like somehow the ever present fear of Neil Hargrove had passed on from Billy to him.

Every time they were alone, Steve was convinced that someone was going to barge in and split them up. Taking Billy away from him again.

It was starting to put an actual strain on their relationship.

The worries were finally addressed in Walmart. The best place to resolve all problems.

Billy asked if Steve wanted to break up. Steve managed to stammer through “what the fuck no” before Billy demanded to know what Steve’s deal was then.

There was a beat of silence.

“Neil”

Billy’s face darkened in understanding.

They couldn’t hold hands in public but Billy’s arm moved a fraction closer to his.

It was all the confirmation Steve needed.

Things didn’t go back to normal after that. They didn’t live in a fairytale. But Steve finally let himself breathe. And slowly he let the guilt go.

I actually really like robby and tory together even though I initially thought I wouldn’t, but their relationship is pretty unhealthy. the reason robby is so unbalanced without tory is because she is maybe the only person in his life who truly loves him and believes in him. so when he loses that, it only highlights the absence of it in the rest of his life and unravels every other aspect of his life and the relationships within it. and i just know that we are likely going to be forced to watch miguel and johnny give him “tough love” when he inevitably underperforms in the tournament—and im sure it will work—but it will also be unsatisfying as a viewer because robby doesn’t need tough love, he just needs actual love. he needs to be prioritized by the adults around him and supported unconditionally, even when he fails.
