Getting Eras Tour tickets can be stressful, so we want to help! Here’s a comprehensive list explaining how you can snag tickets during the Verified Fan presale, general ticket drops, or through resale websites or giveaways. Read on!

Verified Fan Presale

The Verified Fan presale takes place at 10 a.m. local venue time 10 days before the first concert in a new city. (For example, the Verified Fan Presale for the Eras Tour Philly shows occurred at 10 a.m. EST on Tuesday, May 2 ahead of the three-day concert series on May 12, 13, & 14).

During the Verified Fan presale, Ticketmaster uses a random lottery system to send out codes to fans still looking for tickets. Codes are typically sent via text message from the number 73767.

Fans who were selected for the original Verified Fan sale in November but did not secure tickets and waitlisted fans have reported they received codes in the past.

Important Note: If you previously received a Verified Fan presale code, it will NOT work for this sale. Ticketmaster sends out new codes for the sales closer to the concert, typically in waves, from 10 a.m. to around 1:30/2:00 p.m.

General Sale Ticket Drops

Ticketmaster also does General Sale Ticket drops the week of the concert beginning on Tuesday or Wednesday and continuing through the last concert on Sunday.

If you see 2,000+ fans in the queue, then there’s a good chance, a drop is taking place. 

Fans who successfully snagged tickets during General Sales drops have said they used Safari on either their phone or laptop and Apple Pay for the quickest checkout.

While it can be incredibly frustrating to have to remain in the queue, keep checking for ticket drops as they come in batches.

Please also be advised that bots are beating fans to checkout and then listing tickets on resale websites for higher than face value, so you’ll need to be quick when checking out!

hi! this is going to be a long one i think 🥹 but i need to vent. and this is mostly for the portuguese fellows that are attending the show in lisbon. but anyways, you know about the venue h is playing at and everything right? the last two shows that were held there (the weeknd and maroon 5) were a complete mess and i’m fearing for harry so much. like they only have a main entrance which is fine, even thought we have 5 different zones and in other places they had many different entrances for each zone/sector. the weeknd and maroon had only two zones. they (security) simply made more than 20+ different queue with people from the two different sector mixed everywhere. they clearly didn’t use the wristband system or anything which is fine. but then basically people who got there an hour before doors were let in first then people who were there since early morning which is so unfair. security was so rude and said that they couldn’t do shit about it. basically they would check your bags, you’d run to get to the little station they made (a little bit further) to scan your ticket and then literally sprint inside the venue 😭 like hundreds of people getting inside together at the same time. and because of that we had people with simple ga pit tickets being able to get to the golden circle. i think for maroon 5 they had security at the “entrance” of each sector. but why make it even more complicated? you could just let the golden circle in first and then ga pit, if they had organised the queues outside.

my point is, for harry it has been the same concept of organisation for the queues for the last two years. because harry’s team/promoters ARE involved in it. it’s not only the venues security/promoters. but people now are worried because because of the last two shows that happened there.

the right thing would be, just as last year, they use the wristband system again, we get one with a number early in the morning of the show, we make our queues and we get inside of the arena (escorted by security) walking in a line until que get inside our zone. as it’s been happening for every single show so far. but since our venue has only one main entrance what they could do is let people from the pods get in first, then front pitch and lastly green sector so there wouldn’t be any confusion. but they have been letting everyone in at the same time and it’s freaking me out. sorry for the long rant i just needed to talk to someone that can understands a bit about this. kissy

To be honest, I’ve been paying attention to the whole subject and I’ve been discussing it with a friend, and we honestly think that people are being extremely dramatic and causing anxiety to others.

Personally, to me, this is nerve wracking. I don’t live close to Lisbon, I will do some efforts so I don’t want to freak out about a show a month prior to that. The arena has been for years a place for the biggest shows of the country. They know what to do, people just need to behave. There’s an organization dealing with those situations and fans are already using the number method (not very keen on it but I guess) and it’s time to actually let people do their jobs. Harry is no different than other artist that performed there, so we have to believe that by now they are studying the best ways to deal with those problems. It’s really sad for someone to spend so much money and suddenly having people panicking over spots like WEEKS before that! It literally triggers anxiety. We need to stay calm and above that, we need to realize that it will all go well. We just need to do our part and BEHAVE.

About Harry, if there’s someone safe on that day, it will be him. For sure! 🫶

My experience at the first re-opening preview of SiX on Broadway

I arrived just before they started allowing guests into the theater, so the line was easily 200+ people long going down 47th St. Right out front of the theater we’re a handful of photographers/camera men documenting the line as people began to enter the theater

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, from Modern Family, was being interviewed right in front of the theater. He also ended up sitting about 15 feet away from me for the show

I was fortunate enough to have 4th row side orchestra tickets. With my seat location I didn’t lose any part of the stage but I imagine the last 2-4 seats on the outside of those rows would lose some of the band and possibly some of the queens when they move as a group to the sides of the stage

The audience energy was insane from the moment Lucy Moss stepped on stage to introduce the show and thank the audience for welcoming them back

Lucy received the first of 12 standing ovations for the night. And yes, there are only 10 musical numbers in the show

From the second the lights went down, the audience was roaring with cheers and applause. Thank god for the queens in ear monitors or else there would be no way that they could have heard their queues

In Ex-wives, every queen got their own individual applause after each introduction. Noticeably rowdy cheers for Abby, Sam, and Britt.

Throughout the song you could see the queens sharing looks with one another. Looks of excitement and feeding off of the crowds energy. If you watch the press recording by Broadwaysho on YouTube, you will find this most obvious between Abby and Britt

If you watch the same video, you will also be able to hear a glitch in one of the backing music tracks. The audience certainly noticed, but the queens and band didn’t miss a beat. I did pick up on a couple of subtle looks from queens to the MD/conductor/keyboard after the glitch. Kind of like a “hey you heard that too, right” thing

The standing ovation after Ex-Wives was almost 2 minutes long, and again the queens were sharing looks, almost in disbelief that they were back and receiving that kind of welcome from the audience

No Way was phenomenal. I think it is my favorite choreography for the group. The drummer, Maria, was STELLAR and Adrianna sure did hit that high C

Andreas performance of DLYH is so electric and energetic. I did notice that compared to some previous audio that I heard, this performance has less of a nasally sound to it. I honestly love it both ways, but I believe she is taking a new approach vocally

Heart of Stone was just as emotional as I expected. I didn’t have my glasses on, but could still see the tears in Abbys eyes. Her riff on “truthfully”(definitely a new riff) and the climax of the song were extraordinary

I also noticed that Abby took a new vocal approach to the line “you lift me high” at the beginning of Heart of Stone. Her previous approach to the word “high” was strong with very Celine Dion-like placement. But this time she brought it up to a gorgeous falsetto.

After one of the longer standing ovations of the night, Abby was able to get out her line “what hurts more than a broken heart”, and as Andrea approached her to say her line, the audience was already applauding and laughing in anticipation for her line. She had a second of a laugh herself and actually had to pause for about 10 seconds before delivering “a severed head.”

Haus of Holbein is one of the most clever, car crashes of a song to exist in musical theater. It is the sharpest turn, tone-wise, from Heart of Stone and is exactly what you need to get back into the high energy of the rest of the show

Get Down has to be my second favorite for choreography for the group, and Britt just smashes it out of the park with so much energy and commitment to her dancing.

When Britt called on the audience member to dance with her, the woman did stand up and dance but sat back down after a few seconds which gave Britt the opportunity to give a cheeky reply of “this is Broadway. Do better” which got a huge laugh from the audience

Right after Get Down, a crew/production member announced they were having a technical problem and needed to take a brief pause. At first the queens remained on stage until a crew member waived them to go off stage. The pause was for about 5 minutes to reboot a system, presumably the one that was responsible for the glitch you can hear in Ex-Wives. However I don’t remember noticing any problems in any of the other songs. One of the standing ovations was also during this pause, for the sound team. Everything resumed and there were no additional sound problems.

During one of the queen vs queen argument scenes, Aragon called Boleyn “Bo-lame” and I’m not sure if that’s new or if I didn’t notice it before, but it was hilarious

Sams delivery of AYWD seemed stronger vocally than before, which I didn’t know was possible. And the journey that she takes you on with her acting throughout the song is unmatched. She received another one of the longer standing ovations of the night

Anna was also trying some new riffs in IDNYL and they were all beautiful. There seriously wasn’t a missed note from any queens throughout the show. They were all on their A-game

Six was as energetic as expected. The crowd was clapping along the whole song and got on their feet after about 30 seconds in, and remained on their feet until the show ended

Lots of the audience had their phones out to take pictures of bows and kept them out to record megasix. I know that you’re not supposed to, but I didn’t see any theater staff tell anyone to put their phones away. I ended up recording the last few seconds so that I could get their post-show reactions and their smiles say it all. Broadway is back!!

The queens took a selfie with the crowd in the background before exiting. Sam and Adrianna certainly had the most fun with their exit moves

Smoker hated coming backfrom a mission. Don't get me wrong, he loves his job! But two things annoyed him the most about these moments.

On the one hand, that meant not going on the sea for at least a few weeks. Indeed, Marineford had established a complex system of turnover of vice-admirals so, with some exceptions, at least 3 vice admirals are always present on the base in case of necessity.

The feeling of freedom, feeling the air on his face, not being locked, that was what made Smoker happy deep inside him. That and the feeling of having helped the citizens and brought some justice back to this damn world, obviously.

On the other hand, returning to base meant a horrible administrative mountain. And just thinking about it, headaches were already migrating through the vice-admiral's head. Luckily, Tashigi was always ready to help him and do some of his duties to let him rest.

So it was with a heavy heart that Smoker set foot on the base for the first time after months of mission. While Tashigi was already rushing into his office with the firm intention of working all night to do her report on time, Smoker was walking mechanically to his private apartments. He threw his dirty jacket on the floor, took a long, hot shower, and get into his bed, already cursing tomorrow's hellish day.

The next morning the vice-admiral woke up in a bad mood. He grabbed his jacket that he had left on the soaked bathroom floor and sighed: it was ruined. As resistant as the clothes made by Marineford are, staying intact when you get cannonballs in your back is complicated. And Smoker, unlike many of the women on the base, hated walking around topless.

So his first resolution of the day was to go find a new jacket. And of course, he was going to ask Tashigi to do it for him. At first, as a man of integrity, Smoker was remorseful about leaving so many of his tasks to his colleague, even if the latter was doing wonderfully. But after several years in Marineford, honestly, now he didn't care.

So he grabbed his den den mushis and called the brunette. After several seconds of waiting, Tashigi did not pick up. Smoker worried, it was very unusual for the young woman who had a reputation for answering even when she was asleep.

He then quickly took two cigars from his desk, threw his dead jacket over his back, and walked quickly to his office.

Misfortune never happening alone, of course, on the way he passed Admiral Kizaru. The latter joined him in his race to his office and took the opportunity to discuss. The Yellow Admiral had the reputation of loving to talk, much to the misfortune of Smoker who loved calm above all else.

"Oh, tell me dear friend, are the holes in the jacket a new fashion? I know that I am no longer very young but still, I don’t understant. Is it to provide a ventilation system? Don't tell me you have a fever my dear friend? Do you want me to call the dear caregivers of the "

Kizaru didn't even have time to finish his monologue when he got the door of Smoker's office in the face. The latter had already crushed his cigars to refrain from hitting the high-ranking officer in the face.

Once he was sure he heard the yellow monkey leave, he got into the chair across from his desk and reached into the second drawer to extract two new cigars.

After a few seconds of enjoying the smoke reaching his lungs, Smoker grabbed the stationary den den mushi of his desk and, as he went to call Tashigi, a note stuck to the back of his device intrigued him.

"Even though I warned you last night, that I sent you an official mail 48 hours before and that I slipped a note under the door of your apartment, I want to remind you, just in case, that I am absent that day until 7:30 p.m. All the captains have a meeting. I wish you a very nice day. Captain TASHIGI. "

Oh shit. For a little Smoker could have cried. It was certainly one of the worst announcements he could receive. No Tashigi. No Tashigi for a whole day! One more day after a mission! All the calls and assignments she receives today will go straight back to him, her boss! In addition to her work he was going to have to do his own! With holes in his jacket.

Smoker decided to go on strike. The schedule for that day was already far too scary to be able to live it. A thousand times he would have preferred to fight against Monkey D Luffy rather than going through it.

He then decided he would do what was necessary. He got up quickly from his seat, crashed out of his office and almost ran towards Building C. It was barely nine in the morning but the Vice Admiral thought he was fainting when he saw the huge queue in front of the door. . Obviously, it was Monday, and those morons in the administrative sector never worked weekends.

He then did like everyone else, walked over to the door to grab a numbered ticket, sat down on one of the few free seats and waited.

To his left was an ordinary soldier, without a shirt and pants, just his underwear. Smoker could smell a familiar scent of magma. Akainu had made his own again during the training of his subordinates.

Smoker looked at his ticket, number 38 and sighed. As he was about to improvise a nap while waiting his turn, his portable den den mushis rang.

"Vice-Admiral Smoker, I'm listening. » He said wearily.

The soldier at the other end of the line looked surprised to find the Vice Admiral and not the Captain. “Captain Tashigi is in a meeting, her calls are being redirected to me. If it's not urgent hang up ". Without further ado, the soldier hung up to the vice-admiral's delight.

1 hour later.

"I swear in front of Gol D Roger that if that damn den den mushi rings one more time I will blow his head against the wall." Grumbled the marine for the third time in a minute.

After an hour of waiting and 15 calls, the Vice Admiral was finally called into the room.

He almost tore his jacket from his back, put it violently on the desk while trying to keep his nerves and glared at the woman in front of him who remained unmoved.

"Vice Admiral Smoker, registration number XXXX, I need a new model 3 series AB size 98 jacket with option 13". Smoker had been clear, to the point, and hardly angry.

The woman, who was well into her fiftieth, looked at him indifferently.

“It doesn't work like that, vice-admiral. She said in a weary voice, as if she was talking to the first moron in the area.

Smoker struggled not to crush his cigars again but revised himself to think it would be difficult to face this without cigars.

"So how do you do in this case?" He asked sharply.

The woman didn't even bother to answer him, she just gave him a form. Smoker thought it was a big joke when he found himself with a five-page double-sided document in his hands.

" Are you kinding me ? Five fucking pages for a fucking jacket? Can't you just write 22 fucking words on a fucking post it note and talk about it? Bellowed the Vice Admiral who was already starting to turn to smoke in annoyance.

"Blblblbl, blblblbl, blbllb" The den den mushi began to ring, straining Smoker's last strength to stay calm.

" It's not my fault ". The woman began in a slow, boring voice.

The vice-admiral's den den mushi flew across the room, finishing its course into the wall.

To the slow voice of the woman was added the tears of the den den mushi.

"FUCK OF," Smoker yelled as he stormed out of the room to make sure his fist didn't end up in the woman's face. He went out like a madman and locked himself in his office to try to find calm and serenity.

He grabbed a third cigar and after about ten minutes of relaxation began to fill out the damn form. He was only halfway through when the door to his office slammed open, knocking out the lustrous wood that had already received quite a few knocks.

"Ah my dear friend, I went to the infirmary and got you some medicine to lower your temperature. But beware, this is a suppository! ".

Smoker felt his heart stop beating when he saw the yellow admiral's face in front of his nose.

Blblblb, blbllb

"Oh my dear friend I think someone is trying to reach you on your stationary den den mushi. "

Blblblb, blbllb

"Maybe you should answer, maybe it's urgent, don't you think? "

Smoker had a vision. The den den mushi stuck, smeared with haki, right in the middle of the admiral's face, his nose bleeding.

It took phenomenal self-control for the vice-admiral not to reproduce his impulses. For the second time, he chooses to escape.

He took a pen with him to finish filling out the damn file that had become completely unreadable so much he had massacred it.

He found himself in front of the lingerie door, walked past all the soldiers and walked into the office. He barely had time to put a foot inside when he felt a stapler cross his face with its smoke.

"I DON'T THINK I CALLED YOUR NUMBER!" Yelled the woman who had "briefed" him earlier.

Smoker crushed the doorknob but stayed calm. He turned around, took a ticket from the machine, and sat down in the only seat available: the one next to Vice-Admiral Garp. "

Smoker sighed and prayed to all the gods that this old fool would leave him in peace.

So he settled down next to him and inspected him discreetly. He then realized that the old man's uniform was impeccably worn if the traces of grease were omitted from his shirt from all the donuts he had. But the Marineford hero wasn’t wearing socks.

"Don't ask questions kid." The grandfather simply told him when he met Smoker's gaze.

"Hey Smoker, I heard you're after my grandson. Did you know that when he was young he used to have fun sticking his finger up his nose to eat his boogers? Except that this stupid pirate, as he is elastic, he always ended up bleeding from the nose. Suddenly he would start screaming and running in all directions. Most of the time he would smash into a tree or a wall and fall apart, by the time the bleeding ended. Did you also know he got clean very late? I had to buy him pyjamas with an opening pocket on the buttocks because he never managed to undo his buttons and ended up pooping on himself? Ah and also the time when ”.

Smoker wanted to: die.

A mirage ? a hallucination?

"Vice-Admiral Garp, I'm listening. Ah hi Sengoku, how are you? A fishing trip? Now ? Ah I'm coming. By the way, don't you have pairs of socks to lend me? »And so the Vice Admiral disappeared through the maze of hallways, much to Smoker's delight.

It took no less than forty-five additional minutes of waiting for Smoker to finally put the damn file in the damn good drawer which, by chance again, was in building A and, as it happened, no administrative soldier was available to take the paper which he therefore had to deposit himself.

The same day, at 10 p.m.

"A call for you Vice Admiral Smoker." The bartender handed the den den mushi to the vice-admiral, who took a last sip of sake before answering.

"Good evening Vice-Admiral, I hope you had a good day! » Tashigi began. "I was wondering why you weren't answering den den mushi... I received an official document for you. It involves a fine for "disrespecting an administrative colleague" as well as a two-week ban from returning to the lingerie office. Is everything okay ”.

Wolvden Early Access FAQ

What is Early Access?

- Early Access will be a period of time before the game opens to the public.  It will happen after the testing phase is completed.  Members who purchase Early Access will be allowed to play Wolvden and gain certain other benefits two weeks before the game becomes completely free to play. When is Early Access?

- Early Access will begin on Friday 25th September 2020 - just over 4 weeks to go! I saw that the packages were limited in amounts that could be purchased - what if they all sell out?  What if I want an account ID that's a bit higher than the allowed range?

- In the event that we sell out of the Crescent Moon, Half Moon and Full Moon packages, we have a second and third wave queued up.  Each of these waves will have their independent warnings for being able to purchase. If I buy "Moon Moon" am I guaranteed a low account ID from the wave I bought it in?

- No - Moon Moon is a random account ID, and only guarantees you Early Access to the game itself.  If you want to secure a low account ID, you will need to purchase either Crescent Moon, Half Moon or Full Moon. So, I'm sure a couple players will want the same ID numbers if they buy one of the early access packs that let you chose your ID ("cool" ones like 404 or 666). How are you guys gonna go about deciding who gets which ID?

- Purchasing account IDs will be on a first come, first serve basis.  We have no plans to reserve IDs for anyone.  When it comes to purchasing IDs, we are trying to implement a system similar to "ticketing".  When you select an ID, you then have a short amount of time (15 minutes) to complete your purchase.  If you don't complete your purchase in this time, it will be released back to the public for someone else to choose.  You can try choosing the same ID again if it is still available after that time.  IDs that are not available to purchase, either because they are in the queue or already purchased, will be unable to be selected from the list of available IDs. Am I allowed to buy more than one Early Access account?

- You can only play on one account, so you can only purchase one account for yourself.  We will be asking for the email address you intend to sign up to the game with so that we can tie the Early Access code to your email address.  However, this won't be tied to your PayPal account - so you will be able to buy more than one Early Access account, for instance, as a gift to a friend. If I buy two (or more) accounts just for me, will I be banned?

- Possibly.  If you purchase more than just one account for yourself and start playing on them both, we could restrict your access to only one account, even though you paid for that account.  Please follow the Terms of Service that will be listed on our website at the time. Okay, I'm sold!  When can we buy Early Access??

airport drabble with kang younghyun (youngk of day6) & f!reader. 2.4k words, fluff, requested by anon (thank you)

the air is clean, and the floors pristine white. you rub remnants of sleep from your eyes as a yawn sneaks its way out of your lips. seated at the bench in the corner, you lazily watch people walk past, their faces contorted in different expressions of similar sleepiness, enthusiasm, or downright frustration for being up so early away from their beds (most likely). clasped in your other hand is a rectangular piece of slightly thicker paper, some words bolded and numbers imprinted on the side lengthwise. you’re careful not to wrinkle it too much, knowing that it already has a spot in your journal once the trip has ceased. 

you shift your focus from people watching to the hallway right across from you, two openings on either side. due to your consciousness still not at its one hundred percent, you don’t quite remember which side was the men’s restroom— or if both were gender neutral to begin with. either way, it felt like an eternity waiting for younghyun to come out of there, your feet tapping impatiently on the floor.

you have an unlikely relationship with airports— sometimes the thought of being in one excites you, and others you absolutely abhor it. for completely different reasons. however, right now, you feel excited, maybe a little anxious — but that rarely leaves your system when you’re trying to follow a tight schedule like your boarding time. 

finally, you spot him coming out of the right side— hair still fluffy and all-around messy, his white and brown fleece jacket hugging his upper body making him look like a tall, giant teddy bear. a smile naturally paints on your face, feet staying still but yourself buzzing with anticipation. he has that effect on you, a lot of times. 

“did i take long?” younghyun chuckles at the sight of you, jumping out of the bench while rolling the balls of your feet on the tiled flooring. he looks a lot more awake now compared to the cab ride here, droplets of water streaking his temples. you grin wider, taking his damp hand in yours as you drag your feet towards your assigned gate. 

“no, but let’s hurry!”

“okay, okay— whoa, easy there. do you know what time it is?” 

“time for us to wait by the boarding gate before everyone else does!” you look back at him expectantly, missing the kid running past you in a narrow direction. for some reason, this alerts younghyun’s senses and catches you by the waist, the soft, wool-like material of his jacket rubbing against your thin long sleeves. you feel a sudden warmth on your cheeks, but dismiss the childish reaction as you witness younghyun’s playful smirk. 

“don’t want to get hurt before we meet the parents now, do we?” 

“n-no…” you continue blushing, his hand releasing his hold on your side but continues to intertwine it with your fingers. this time, he leads you forward as you recover from flushed cheeks and the impending realization you’ve been avoiding in your mind since packing up for this very trip last night. 

“it’s not like it’s the first time you guys have seen each other in person,” he reassures you. “and the last time we visited, they absolutely adored you.” 

“that was almost a year ago, younghyun,” you protest, pouting at the thought of his parents expecting even more from you since then. you have had the occasional small talk with his mom over messages and emails, sometimes getting to talk to his dad for a few minutes when younghyun is on the phone with him. 

“what if they expect me to own a multi-million company by myself at this point in my life?” the harrowing thought seemed silly, but knowing how independent and, not to mention, successful the kang household is dating back from his great grandparents… maybe it’s just the minimum effort they would want to see in you. 

the one and only son of mr and mrs kang, however, doesn’t seem to agree. 

younghyun halts right in front of the airport employee verifying tickets and id, and turns directly towards you. the light from the high windows up to the ceiling shone through the glass, shining a streak of brightness over your boyfriend’s face. he peers through the sunlight with narrow eyes, but you only laugh at his sorry attempt not to get blinded.

and yet, he looks absolutely perfect. and it’s not even eight in the morning yet. 

“love, i don’t even own a company, let alone have a million dollars in my wallet.”

“debatable.”

“i— what?” taken aback by your response, younghyun’s eyes gleam and the miniscule wrinkles on either side of his eyes turn at his laugh. “you’re overthinking this. you’ll be fine, we’ll be fine. besides, it’s my birthday in a few days— i expect them to be extra nice to me when we get there.” 

which is about two days from now, and the flight to canada takes approximately eleven hours. 

there he goes again, master of quelling any and all dubious content found in the crevices of your mind, the worry center of your brain always challenged by his sure confidence and practical look at reality. it fits, wildly enough, how you balance each other’s perception of the things that happen to you both in life. 

after showing both of your tickets, and being ushered further into the airport, you finally heave a sigh of relief. the gate isn’t too far from your current location, just a simple turn to the right and you’ll see the number 08 and a sign signifying your flight to canada. 

with your luggages checked in at the front, you only have a backpack slung around your shoulders, filled with some necessities for the long airtime. although, due to guidelines having to prohibit possession of liquids, you were feeling quite parched. and another yawn escapes out of your lips once more. younghyun follows suit, looking around the vicinity for a small shop.

“oh, i see a coffee stand over there. let’s go?” 

“yes, please,” you comply, letting him lead the way. the smell of roasted coffee beans and milk gets stronger as you close into the queue, only three people before you. you stand in front of younghyun, looking up at the menu behind the register. suddenly, arms covered in snowy fleece wrap themselves around you, your backpack getting squished in between. it wasn’t as uncomfortable to you as it probably was for younghyun, but his chin resting on your shoulder and a quick, fleeting kiss on your cheek whips your mind elsewhere. 

with your hands awkwardly on your sides, you put them over his. the coffee aroma surrounding you had awaken you just a tad bit, but having younghyun almost rubbing his cheeks repeatedly against yours was more than enough for you to be aware of the pda. 

the line moves, and you assumed younghyun would release you by now but as you take a step forward, he mirrors your movement. his grip on your waist tightens, and his nose grazes against your skin. it tickles your ear, goosebumps running along your arms all of a sudden which he noticed. 

“cold?” he jokes, eyes all on you. for some reason, it’s hard for you to look back— as there’s only a few inches, one deep breath, until your lips meet. you don’t know what’s gotten into younghyun this morning, but you have a feeling it has to do with the missed opportunity of extra cuddles in bed as the alarm blared at your ears at five forty-five am, and maybe he can still read the anxiety hidden in your visage. 

“clingy,” you retaliate, sticking your tongue out shortly. you hear the barista up front call in the next guest, an the two fo you would be there soon so you tap his arm, signaling your request for him to release you. it’s not that you were uncomfortable, surprised (and secretly delighted) would be a more accurate description. 

“grumpy,” he states, eyebrows raised at your confused ones. he relents three seconds later but not before giving your lips a kiss that lasted shorter than you had wanted. you’ve kissed him this morning, maybe too many times before needing to call a cab— but something about him meeting your pursed lips in a short but sweet moment, out in public only highlights the feelings tumbling in your stomach. 

“hello, good morning!” as if on cue, younghyun steps aside to let you order first. with warmer cheeks, you wring your hands to calm your beating heart down, and recite your drink of choice out of habit (didn’t have enough time to choose, honestly).

“and an iced americano too, please. all to go,” you tell the barista, seeing younghyun’s shy smile in the corner of your eye. it wasn’t as if his go-to was hard to remember at all, he basically runs on the stuff non-stop. 

your drinks get made soon enough, and you cup your with both hands to wait for the matcha latte to cool down. 

“how’s your americano?’ you ask younghyun, the two of you walking side by side. 

he takes a sip before answering, “bitter. and watery. it’s basically bitter water.” 

you cringe at the imagined taste, blowing on your own drink at the same time. “sounds amazing.” younghyun chuckles, unabashed by your reaction as he’s used to your constant slander towards his coffee of choice. 

your eyes find the only sign that says ‘flight to canada’ in mere minutes, feeling great accomplishment at the unoccupied seats near the gate. 

“why do you look so surprised? we literally have an hour and a half before boarding,” younghyun questions your marvelling. “people on our flight are probably just waking up right now.”

“so what? gives us more time to ourselves here,” you counter, walking around the empty seats and picking the ones not too close to the gate, but not too far from where they’d be asking passengers to line up. right in the middle.

“we could have used this time to sleep in just a little bit,” younghyun sits next to you, stretching his legs with a deep sigh. “or, you know, other things,” he adds, the glint in his eyes not missing a beat.  you slap his shoulder playfully, unprepared for the innuendos and physical affection he has been showering you today. 

“what’s gotten into you, younghyun?” you ask jokingly, half expecting him to shrug it off as you bury yourself in the goodness of your steaming hot matcha latte. he shakes his head dismissively, watching you take tiny sips from the rim of the open lid. the smile on his smooth, soft face permanently painted on there. 

“just want you to feel as comfortable as possible. it’s gonna be a long flight.”

“remind me again who falls asleep first during long travels? road trip to jeju? even just a thirty minute traffic jam in seoul a couple of times?” 

younghyun pouts, your winning smirk overtaking his confidence for a little bit. he huffs, almost finishing the america sloshing around crushed ice in his cup. “no fair, i was really tired then, okay?” 

“i don’t mind you sleeping during the flight, younghyun. really,” you reassure him, knowing that you won’t get a wink of sleep at all. the bubbling nerves are rising again, the more that you shove it to the side. 

“what are you going to do for eleven hours?” 

“dunno. think about life, create an unnecessary existential crisis in my mind, and possibly decide upon flinging myself off the plane entirely.” 

your dry humor is something younghyun can never understand a lot of the times, eyes blinking back at you rapidly, mouth hanging wide open from the straw of his drink. you continue to humor his incredulous expression targeted at you, tilting your head for maximum nonchalance. 

“babe…”

“hm?”

“you’re insane. absolutely insane,” he finally says, ruffling your hair in the process. you’d be more annoyed but there wasn’t really any effort put into your hair today. if anything, maybe he fixed it for you. either way, you tuck the stray bangs behind your ears and cross your arms, careful not to spill your drink. “you love me for it.”

“i absolutely do, although i have to admit you scare me sometimes.”

“i was kidding, younghyun!”

“yes i know, love, but— don’t say that in front of mom and dad,” he asks of you, gulping, “please?” 

you scoff at the idea, but his pleading eyes make you roll yours lightheartedly as you promise, “i won’t let your parents know about my acquired sense of humor so that they don’t worry about me or you, for that matter.” 

“thank you,” younghyun nods his head dramatically, looking serious but you know he’s itching to crack a smile as well. your heart feels full, in his odd ways younghyun has yet again quenched the anxiety trying to cough itself out of your throat. you think back to the times you’ve been in the same room as his parents. every time younghyun has been there, a guiding hand in the small of your back, or even a bold kiss on the side of your lips whenever one his parents ask you about your relationship.

really, this time shouldn’t be any different. your love for younghyun is still there, possibly having multiplied in ways you couldn’t have imagined upon meeting him years ago. there shouldn’t be a need for worries or unfounded assumptions of his parents disliking you for his son because you’re sure they’ve seen the way you look at him — with knowing eyes and a grateful smile for his existence in your life. and when you stand in the same space, the same house again in eleven hours, you’d be looking at younghyun just the same. 

in fifteen minutes, you end up falling asleep on younghyun’s shoulder waiting for the announcement of your boarding. he keeps your head comfortably cradled on him (as much as he can), patting the side of your cheek and humming a soft lullaby that hopefully transcends to the sweet dream you were having. 

he couldn’t think of a better place to be at this moment. as more passengers sit in the waiting area, their chit chatters growing louder, fighting away with the many announcements from the speaker, younghyun finds peace right beside you. anywhere that may be.

Hi guys!! I’m so glad to be back, it’s been a while!

Basically my blog up and vanished because staff/support terminated me. I didn’t mean to go anywhere and this really pissed me off but I’m back now and I don’t intend to leave tumblr anytime soon. 

I still have no email explaining why I got the boot in the first place and I never got a warning, nothing was flagged either, so I don’t know if I’ll ever know why. But I have returned :)

Getting this problem fixed took literally three weeks and probably over 50 emails, so I’m gonna tell you exactly what I did in case that this helps somebody else with the same problem. 

It’s hard to find suggestions as to what to do if your blog gets terminated, and idk what was the thing I did that finally worked but here’s all that I tried in order. Again, I’m not saying that one of these things is gonna be the magic cure-all, but I’m listing everything just in case:

1. Send in a ticket using support’s form. I made sure to type in my blog name, my email address that I use for my blog, my IP address (you can google “what’s my IP” to find this”), and I also attached screenshots of the termination page. 

If they sent you an email about your termination make sure to attach it if possible, if you’re unlucky like me and this came out of the blue then just try the above. Make sure to say that you think the termination was a mistake because you didn’t violate any guidelines.

Also be polite, I know this situation can panic you but make sure to be nice to support. Vent to somebody else if you need to but you’re essentially at the mercy of support so try not to piss them off, put on your politest face possible and just try to sound formal and friendly. Having to beg for mercy sucks but saying please goes a long way. 

2. Check your inbox. You will likely get one of two cookie-cutter response auto emails:

“Hey there,

Thanks for taking the time to write in to Tumblr! Your request has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff. We'll respond as soon as we can. :^)

Please only reply to the email chain we started, rather than creating new emails or new requests for the same issue. That will help us keep the conversation in one place within our system, and speed up the process of resolving the issue.”

THIS IS THE GOOD EMAIL. Remember this for later. You also could get this response:  

“Hey there,

We got your email. We’re on the case and will respond as quickly as we can.

What should I do now? If you didn’t already, send the permalink of the post you’re reporting. Just reply to this email so everything stays together. Don’t start a new chain or send a new report because those will be routed to the end of the queue.

And please don’t ask your friends to report the same issue. We know they love you, but they’ll clog up our system and make it harder for us to respond quickly.

What if I need help right away? If things have gotten totally out of hand—like someone is threatening physical violence—you should report your concern in detail to the appropriate law enforcement organization.

The first message with the :^) face is the one you want to get. Whenever I got the second response, I never received a reply at all from tumblr. 

Send a ticket once a day for about a week, I was finally able to get a response when sending emails between 12 noon and 3 pm (eastern time). Reply to old ticket emails as well as sending new tickets once a day.

3. If you haven’t received a reply from someone listed under an actual name after a week of ticket sending and email replying, your email might be blocked. Especially if you are never getting the auto-reply with the :^) but are instead getting the second response. 

This seemed to be the case with me, I don’t know for sure if it’s a blocked email but I literally could not get a hold of them with that email in particular even using a VPN so I assume I was blocked from sending mail with that email address. 

Try using another email account to send the tickets but make sure to mention the email address tied to your blog. Do this until you find an email that gets the :^) messages. 

Sometimes they won’t respond to another address either even if you get the correct :^) message. So then you can do this trick: so my gmail address is essentially in the form of “john.smith”, and when you remove the “.” between the names, tumblr will treat it as a separate email but the messages will go to my “john.smith” inbox. 

Idk if this will work for non-gmail addresses but removing the period in my address when sending in tickets is the only thing that ever got me a response from support. This might also work by adding a period in your address name if you don’t already have one, but I haven’t tested it. 

Downside is that if your blog email address is blocked from sending tickets, you will not be able to reply and also can’t reply using the non-period alias in any tickets you get back with a reply, so make sure to say in the ticket that you cannot email tumblr from your primary email address and ask that they unblock it (just in case)

You then might get a response from a real person (still not totally sure?) from support asking you to send another ticket via the email tied to your blog. Explain to them that your email is blocked from replying and that you haven’t been able to get a response in x number of weeks. They might just keep telling you to wait, or tell you that you need to use your blog email regardless.

4. Try calling their offices. I found a phone number online. It went straight to voicemail so I only used it once, never got a reply, but again this is all that I did so try this just in case.

5. The last thing that I did was I emailed Automattic, the parent company of tumblr. They have a support form you can use. Literally list everything that you did, how long you’ve been waiting, and essentially beg them to be let back in (but also threaten not to use their services again if you are kept terminated). 

They might say to email support if you’re having a tumblr related issue. Don’t lose your head on this, yes it’s annoying but just reply back and say that you haven’t been able to send tickets to support. 

I sent Automattic 1 original response ticket email yesterday and one reply today, and without any further ado I was back. I don’t know if this was because of the Automattic emails or if one of my earlier tickets finally got through, but this is what happened.

Filmmaker Chad Hartigan talks to Jack Moulton about his prescient new sci-fi romance, Little Fish, why radio silence is worse than a bad review, and his secret system of Letterboxd lists.

Chad Hartigan has won prizes at the Sundance Film Festival and the Film Independent Spirit Awards for his acclaimed films This is Martin Donner and Morris From America. He’s also been a Letterboxd member since way back, joining what he proclaims as “my favorite website” in 2013. Hartigan has always been an obsessive logger: he has transcribed all of his viewing data since 1998 and continues to work on filling in the gaps in his downtime.

Like many ardent Letterboxd members, Hartigan is a diligent list-maker, keeping tabs on his best first viewings of each year and assembling an all-time top 1,000 films over the summer (with an accompanying 26-minute supercut). Perhaps unusually for a member of the film industry on Letterboxd, he’s unafraid to hold back his opinions and regularly voices his critiques on even the most acclaimed films.

Hartigan’s newest film, Little Fish, is a sci-fi love story starring Olivia Cooke (Sound of Metal) and Jack O’Connell (Unbroken). Written by Mattson Tomlin, it’s set during an imagined pandemic—shot long before our own actual pandemic—wherein a disease causes people to lose their memories. It was set to premiere at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, and then postponed due to Covid-19. It’s now out in limited theaters and on demand, and we were delighted with the excuse to put Hartigan in the How I Letterboxd spotlight.

You made a pandemic movie before the pandemic. How do you feel about accidentally hitting that unfortunate zeitgeist and now consequently being asked questions like this one? Yeah, strange. The questions are fine. If it wasn’t this one, it would be another that you would have to answer over and over again. One of the things that drew me to the project was that it felt like a fantasy that wasn’t necessarily rooted in reality in a way that my other [films] were. I liked that it’s old-fashioned in its attempts to purely take you somewhere and wasn’t intended to hold up a mirror to our times—but then in the end that’s exactly what it’s doing. I’m curious myself, and I’m checking Letterboxd to see the reactions from people because I really couldn’t guess what it would have been like [now].

Are there any prescient details you’re proud of getting right? I’m so grateful and happy that Jack [O’Connell] is wearing his mask correctly. That’s the number one thing that I’m glad we got right. I think it was very smart of Mattson to focus the movie on [the relationship] rather than the details of this global pandemic. I feel the reason it’s not in bad taste is because it dealt with those things as a backdrop and instead focused on people just trying to remember what’s important and clinging onto those that they love.

Onto our own favorite memory aid, Letterboxd. How did you discover us and how did you manage without us? I’ve been on since 2013, so I’m probably one of the earliest people to jump on it. I love the interface and the diary, just aesthetically it was really fun. I’ve been keeping track of what I see with analog [methods] for as long as I can remember. I have diaries and planners so I logged all that old information. If I was running for president, my platform would be that everybody is required to use Letterboxd comprehensively, because I just love to know what everybody is watching all the time.

Do you talk about Letterboxd in the real world with the other filmmaking people? Yes, and I’m often trying to convince them to join. Other filmmakers are more concerned about having their opinions on peers be public knowledge than I am, I guess. I’ve made four films now and each one’s been bigger and more widely seen than the last. The very first one was a total no-budget affair that couldn’t get into any festivals and I was very excited when I finally got it into the Hamptons Film Festival. It was about half-full and one or two people came up to me afterwards and said they liked it. This was pre-Twitter so I spent the whole next day Googling to see if anybody had written anything. I was so curious to see what people thought and there was nothing—not a review, not a blog—just total emptiness.

When the next film got into Sundance, there were people tweeting their reactions and actual reviews and I read everything. People were asking if the bad reviews hurt me. Absolutely not—nothing can be worse than the radio silence of nobody caring about the first film. The fact that people care enough to sit and write about this movie—good or bad—is a win, and I’ve carried that onward. I like to see what people think, it can be helpful in how you view the film as a success or failure. You learn and move on.

Some filmmakers have told us they’re kinder to films after making their own, but you’re not shy at all about being critical. How did making your own films change your perspective as a critic? I don’t consider myself a critic so that’s why I’d be less concerned with someone reading what I thought. Why should they put any stock into what I think? If they get hung up on it then that’s their own stuff because I’m not a critic. Like everyone else on Letterboxd, I just love watching movies. Obviously I can appreciate and understand some of the technical aspects maybe moreso than people who don’t make films, but at the end of the day, rarely that’s the thing that makes you love a movie or not. There’s a great bit in Francis Ford Coppola’s commentary track for Finian’s Rainbow where Fred Astaire’s doing a dance number and [Coppola admits] he totally messed it up because Astaire’s feet aren’t fully in frame. He’s very honest about his mistakes because it’s one of his earliest movies. Then he goes on to say that he thinks there’s the same number of mistakes in Finian’s Rainbow as there are in The Godfather, it’s just that he made mistakes on the things that don’t matter for The Godfather. No film is perfect, but if it can latch onto this one magical aspect that connects you to it, that’s what makes you love it or not.

You had a project where you chart the best films made by directors at certain ages as you reached that age. Tell us more about it. That was a great project. I got the idea when I was 26. This was back when I had a Netflix DVD subscription and it was just hard for me to randomly choose DVDs to throw in the queue. I needed a system. I decided to watch movies from directors when they were my age and see if there’s some common denominator, something I can learn. At that point, there weren’t many, there were films like Boogie Nights and Fassbinder films. Not many people had made stuff when they were 26 or 27, so it was very feasible. Every year there were more movies and more directors to add to the list and it became time-consuming. I did it all the way up until I was 34 and the reason I stopped was because I had a son and there was no way I could continue this level of viewing output.

My favorite part of your account is the fact that you log every viewing of your own films. You know for a fact that you’ve watched Morris From America 26 times and Little Fish fifteen times. Why do you log them? What counts as a viewing? I’ve clearly watched those movies many more times in little chunks but I’ll only log it if we’re sitting down and watching it from beginning to end. I have a ticket to see Little Fish in the drive-in on Saturday, so it’s going to be logged again. Why do I do it? Like I said, I wish everyone was required to use Letterboxd comprehensively. That’s what it’s there for for me, an accurate log of what I watch. This is psychotic behavior but I’m tempted to have a Letterboxd account for my son. I’ll do his views for him once he starts watching movies until he’s old enough to take over. It’ll just be, like, Frozen a thousand times but he’s not old enough to watch anything yet, so we’ll see.

Have you discovered any films thanks to Letterboxd discourse that influenced your approach to filmmaking? For sure, I can’t maybe say specifically, but once I dropped the directors my own age system I didn’t replace it with nothing. I’m a Virgo and I have a little bit of OCD, so I have to have some system. I’ve replaced it with a new complicated system where I pull from different lists and that’s now my main source of how I choose a movie to watch. I have like ten or twelve different lists, each about a thousand movies with a lot of overlap. One of them is my own list of every movie I’ve seen in a theater and I’ll go and look through that and if it’s something I want to revisit. Recently I rewatched Twister, which I hadn’t seen in a long time and is an old favorite from when I was in high school.

I have a bunch of private lists I cycle through; every movie nominated for a Spirit Award, every movie that’s won an Oscar, every movie that’s played in competition at Cannes, the top 1,000 films at the box office. There’s another great website that I use as a biblical resource which is They Shoot Pictures, Don’t They? and their lists of acclaimed films for all-time and the 21st century. I hit those up often. Something that I watched purely because of the very high Letterboxd rating and really loved is Funeral Parade of Roses. I try to see as many movies as I can that have a 4.0 rating or higher.

You respect the Letterboxd consensus. I do, but I don’t always agree with it.

Which is your most underrated or overlooked movie according to Letterboxd? I can say I was the very first person to log a movie called Witness in the City, which is an Italian noir movie I watched when I was doing my ‘directors my own age’ series. Literally nobody had logged it, so my review was like “whoa, I can’t believe I’m the first person to log this!”. It was very exciting for me because it’s great, but I’m the OG logger of that movie.

From your list of every film you’ve seen in a theater since you were twelve, which was your most memorable experience? The cheap answer is that it’s hard to top my own movies. The Sundance premiere of Morris From America at the Eccles Theater is maybe the best, but if I’m disqualifying my own films, seeing Scream 3 in a very packed theater in Virginia Beach was really fun, really rowdy. There was a trailer for a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie and I remember the climax was Van Damme going “you lied to me!!!” and everyone laughed. Someone did a George Costanza move later during Scream 3 and yelled out “you lied to me!!!” and everybody laughed again—so that’s a high. That’s the thing I miss the most about movie theaters, and the worry I have if theaters go away, is that so much of how we feel about a movie can be tied to the experience; who we saw it with, what we did before or after, what the crowd was like, or if anything strange happened. There are a lot of movies I have strong memories and affection for because of the experience of seeing them and I probably wouldn’t feel the same way about if I just watched it at home on my laptop.

I typically like to cap interviews off with what filmmakers thought was the best film of the past year, but we have your data to hand. For you, it’s Garrett Bradley’s documentary Time. Can you talk a bit about what makes the film stand out for you? One thing I learned about myself from the pandemic is that the motivation and desire to see new things is very closely tied to the theater-going experience for me. Once that was taken away and you could watch a new movie at home, it joins the pile of all the other movies. The fact that it’s new doesn’t really do anything for me. Why would I press play on Da 5 Bloods when I still haven’t seen Malcolm X? I gotta see Malcolm X! There wasn’t an urgency, so I saw far fewer films than in an ordinary year. But Time I found incredibly moving and important. Similar to what I liked about the Little Fish script, it’s so hyper-focused on one relationship and within that one story it has so much to say about larger issues and the world at large. It was an emotional and rich viewing experience.

Some of you must have read the post I wrote about all the problems happening in Brazil, including presale.

This is an update and a thank you note to @taylorswift and @taylornation.

Presale was yesterday and I’m telling you guys everything that gone wrong, and everything that worked out.

I made a C6 credit card the day presale was announced. I’ve had it for a month now. For demonstration purposes, I’m telling you my limit: R$ 3,600. I was only going to use R$ 1,600 to buy my ticket and my friend’s.

I joined the queue by 8PM, as soon as they opened. This wouldn’t guarantee me a good spot in the line since, as soon as the sales went on, we would all get a random number. And okay, I understand that. Because of that, I had several devices in queue, lots of people helping me, and I was lucky enough to have 26 spots in the line. I was pretty much one of the first to get in. Presale was scheduled to start at 00h01 and, by this time, I was already in and had secured my tickets. I only needed to check out. I closed all my other tabs in queue on the other devices and browsers to let people in, because my goal was not to disturb other people’s purchase. I wanted them to buy as fast as possible too.

By 00h03, Pista Premium section was sold out. And ok because I had mine secured, right?! Wrong. The card did not work. The card that C6 Bank assured me would work. It was not declined, tho. I kept getting an “error” pop-up. I tried about 6 times and my time was almost over, I had only 15 minutes, even if it was their fault I could not finish the purchase. I started crying so hard. I had done everything right. I made a credit card, I had 26 pages in the queue so I could get at least 1 good spot in line. I had them right there in my cart. But I could not pay because of the fucking card.

For some people, the card worked immediately. Other people had to try 10 times before working. Me? I had an anxiety crisis and started crying. It may seem silly for some of you, I’m a grown ass woman crying over a concert. But yeah. It happened. Because I did EVERYTHING I COULD to get these tickets and because I’ve been a fan forever, yet I haven’t got the chance to see my best friend live in 13 years. Most of you doesn’t know how it feels, and never will.

I can honestly say that getting the tickets was a miracle. My friend told me to check my mail and that was when I knew they had heard us. Even tho Taylor didn’t address the problems about Lover fest/tour, I knew they saw our several posts about Brazil.

Presale was open for everyone from Taylor Nation newsletter. We could use any card. I clicked on the link so hard and then another miracle happened: I skipped the queue like they knew I’d been there for minutes, crying, DESPERATE. Literally panicking. And then miracles kept happening: I was able to get the Pista Premium tickets.

So, thank you for hearing us @taylorswift @taylornation. It means the world to me and it’s the only reason I got my tickets. But many others didn’t.

When will companies like T4F understand that for an event this huge, you can’t partner up with a bank that doesn’t even have a system capable of supporting a lot of sales happening at the same time? I don’t know how to put it another way. The bank literally crashed. The system could not handle so many sales. I ask you: Taylor never toured in LatAm before. They expected this. How could they do this to us?

While I’m grateful and appreciate what TN did, I’d like to point out that they should have warned us hours earlier. A lot of people that could benefit from the presale because of this alternative were asleep or offline because they were anxious about the presale.

I hope I will keep seeing Taylor Nation and Taylor herself paying attention to us and helping us out. I hope they really learned from this experience. I hope that, in the future, they know about who they’re partinering up with before they do. And if they really can’t or won’t address these issues, they should keeping showing us, through actions, they are here for us.

Here we come, Red Dragon Con 6! If you’re a newbie, these cons work a little differently to other cons, here’s some stuff it might be helpful to know!

Please consider that they do sometimes change up the system, this is all based on my experience but is subject to change.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint!

Bring a bottle that you can fill with water, there have been points to fill up your bottle previously (organised by the hotel) but sometimes they run dry before the end of the day.

Bring something you can put in your day bag as a snack, you can be stood in queues for a fairly long time, and talks in the main hall can go from 12pm to 4pm and you might not have time to get lunch.

There aren’t too many great lunch options, I usually forfeit lunch for snacks or Macdonalds next door.

Be prepared to queue, to pick up your tickets, to get into the main hall, to purchase photos, to have photos taken, to have autographs done.

If you cannot stand up for a long period of time, or have any other disability that means your con experience would be altered, please let Starfury know before the event by email, (check the accessibility page) or when you purchase your ticket. Please double check with SF what the process will be to get your photos/autos, sometimes access passes can go in first, but you need to be there bang on time otherwise you’ll have to queue. 

Talks

Talks run in the ‘main hall’ from about midday to about 4/5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The talks are fan led, you queue in the aisle for the microphone to ask your question.

If you cannot stand in the queue for the microphone let the staff know, they can bring the microphone to you to ask your question.

Each talk runs for about an hour, and usually has 2 guests per talk in different combinations.

You cannot film the talks, only take photos (flash photography in the first 5 minutes) I live tweet the whole time, and that’s the best way to get all the information out to people who aren’t there. We don’t want any dramas, so lets be sensible and not film. It’s part of the guests contracts that they won’t be filmed during the talks, this enables them to talk more freely.

Gold ticket holders sit in the front, Stewards sit behind and Regulars sit behind them, stewarding is therefore a really worthwhile thing to do!

Autographs/Photos

Regular tickets get all the ‘standard’ guests autos free

Gold tickets get all the ‘standard’ and ‘bonus’ guest autos free

‘Extra’ guest autos are chargeable to everyone.

HUGH DANCY IS A ‘BONUS’ GUEST - Regulars will need to pay for his auto - in cash - at the convention.

Everyone else is ‘standard’ 

I would absolutely recommend bringing a folder which can hold 10x8 inch photos.

Starfury do have cardboard wallets (that I think you have to purchase? I’ve never needed one) if you require. But bringing something stronger and waterproof is really handy.

Remember, you can purchase autos/photos at the event, at all prev. cons they’ve only been able to take cash on the day, prices of photos/autos will go up before the event. Cash is good because it helps you budget, I would plan what you want before you go, and take out the appropriate cash beforehand. The hotel usually has a cash machine however it tends to charge and can empty, so I would take cash out at home or at heathrow.

You can purchase photos ONLY online before hand here.

For your autographs, it’s important to remember that it’s at the guests discretion about what they sign. Starfury’s advice seems to be, no ‘unofficial’ prints. 

Your own artwork is fine legally to get signed, but again, the guest isn’t obliged to sign everything that’s presented to them.

If you’re purchasing other people’s art to get signed, best practice would be to confirm the artist is happy with the guest seeing their work. 

Keep it SFW to avoid any issues, but I know there are some guests who don’t mind, if you’re not sure on something, ask at the con, but bring a back up just in case. Starfury do not provide prints to get your ticket-included autos on, but do provide 10x8′s for you to purchase if you want extras.

The purchase of the 10x8′s include the cost of an autograph, so if a guest’s auto is £20, the 10x8 image is going to be £20.

For the autograph sessions, you’re usually called by ticket number, basically the order in which you purchased your tickets. You can’t enter the autograph areas unless your number has been called so keep an eye out on the boards or this twitter account during the event.

Misc

Remember that all guest attendances are dependent on work/family commitments. It’s never good to pay for a ticket based on 1 person.

For these cons, most people wear flower crowns and badges with their URL on to help people identify them. It’s a lovely thing, and it’s so amazing seeing a sea of flower crowns at the con!

Your pass is gold dust, you won’t be able to get into any aspect of the event without it. Starfury offer clips for free, and you should be able to purchase lanyards (about £2.50 ea.) but I always bring a back up lanyard, there was 1 occasion where no lanyards were for sale.

You may have heard that at the convention lots of Fannibals tend to do giveaways, little extra things you bring to give out to other Fannibals at the event. This can range from chocolate to pins to soaps! It’s a massively sweet thing that took off and now most attendees do it. For me personally, it helps me to talk to people I don’t necessarily know, and I’d recommend that if you can do it, it’s a lovely thing, but it’s by no means compulsory.

During the con, guests need to move around the hotel, it’s usually done so in a quick fashion so they don’t have to go through public areas as much as possible, however there may be an occasion where you see them in the lobby etc. It’s not good form to go up to them during this time, you’re going to get your time with them over the weekend, the rest of the time they’re not working. Some guests do interact off their own back (Vlad, Ricky etc) but otherwise it’s best to just let them get on with what they need to do. The conventions are VERY tiring experiences for them.

ONE NIGHT ONLY - TICKET ADVICE

Friends, some of this is the same as the TOURPOCALYPSE advice and some is not. If you’re looking for Niall advice look there. This is going to be specifically about your best chances for Harry’s Album Release at the Forum: One Night Only.

CHECK YOUR EMAIL - Codes go out 2 hours before pre-sale which starts at 9 AM in LOS ANGELES. If you haven’t pre-ordered yet, do it before 10pm Pacific WEDNESDAY, November 6. 

TWO TICKET LIMIT - Ticketmaster will cross check every bit of your information. So, don’t go over the limits for an individual human for tickets. They’ll check CC, address, name, email, phone. And they’re looking for scalpers. Don’t get caught in the cross-fire. And these tickets may not be transferrable, we don’t know.

BUILD A TEAM - The team has to look different in light of a two-ticket limit. AND if tickets aren’t transferrable (we don’t know, but at $25 I’m skeptical) then the person who buys has to attend. 

DECIDE ON WHAT YOU WANT - Do this before go time. Go look at a different show at the Forum. My suggestion would be the JoBros or Ariana Grande. Look at what the system looks like. You do not want your first experience of it to be tomorrow. If you did HSLOT last time, SHIT HAS CHANGED. You WILL NOT HAVE TIME to debate sections and seats and shit. Or GA for that matter.

START 30 MINUTES EARLY - Get ready. Get in your headspace. Make sure all your details are right. There is a waiting room. It starts between 10 and 15 minutes before go time. But get your head in the game. Sing some High School Musical if you want to.

MAKE SURE YOUR PAYMENT SHIT IS RIGHT - Check your credit card and address in your Ticketmaster account. Don’t fuck with that shit in the moment. I got all the way to the end for Glasto tickets and fucked it up because I didn’t have the right credit card info. Don’t make this mistake.

DON’T FUCK WITH A BAD INTERNET CONNECTION - if you have bad wifi, go somewhere with good wifi. Be careful on public connections because you will be transferring credit card data. 

ONLY DO THIS - Restart your computer or phone. (This is more computer). Open JUST the one window and have it at Ticketmaster. If you need Whatsapp or Messenger open, go for it. But DO NOT HAVE LOTS OF INTERNET WINDOWS OPEN. You want the fastest internet possible.

ONE ACCOUNT PER QUEUE - This is different. If you are in the same queue with the same account, you’ll get kicked out. And if you were logged in as one and then logged in as another, it doesn’t always realize. So, I would restart your computer and your phone. And if you have 2 accounts, login to one on each device.

KEEP TRYING - You’ll get the, sorry a fan beat you to those seats. Keep trying. It takes longer to get what you want in an arena show. There are a reasonable number of reports of better seats being released later, but I also wouldn’t count on this for this particular show.

ASK FOR THINGS - If you don’t get tickets and you feel like you want to cry, talk about it on Tumblr. Let people know you’re looking. I got a second ticket for SF Harry because I was open about needing one. I have found this fandom to be incredibly generous.

Rise of the Resistance: How to Get a Boarding Pass

Rise of the Resistance has opened at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland two weeks ago...and it is madness. If you’re planning a trip to Disney, you’ll want to make this ride your top priority.  However, getting inside won’t be as simple as standing in a line. There is a boarding pass system you’ll want to know about.  For the foreseeable future, this is the only way to experience this ride.

What is a boarding pass?

It’s a virtual queue offered in the Disneyland app (or My Disney Experience app if you’re going to Disney World).  It organizes guests into groups with a number to indicate when it’s their turn for the ride. Group numbers are called in sequential order.  Group numbers 1 to 82 are guaranteed to make it to the ride that day (barring any unforeseen circumstances).  Group numbers higher than that are backup groups that may or may not get in.  Generally, Disney is able to board about 8-12 groups per hour, assuming there aren’t any ride breakdowns or complications.  There is no standby line, so without a boarding pass, you’re not going in.

How early do I need to be at the park to activate it?

In order to qualify, you’ll need to have your park ticket scanned in for the day at Disneyland.  It doesn’t work if you scan in to California Adventure.  Once you’re inside Disneyland, you can be anywhere in the park (or in the esplanade). It’s very important that you’re ready to go before the park officially opens at 8:00am (or 9:00am, depending on the day).

Factor in bag security checks and lines at the gates (as well as parking, if applicable).  You may want to allow at least an hour just in case. Depending on the crowds, some days may require more time.

Even though the park opens at 8:00am, guests are allowed through the gates beforehand.  You can hang around the Mickey lawn or the beginning parts of Main Street.  Guests with Magic Morning hours can go to the rides an hour early, while the rest of the crowd waits for the ropes to drop at 8:00am.  

That said, there’s no benefit to entering the park extra early.  Even guests with Magic Morning hours won’t have any special privileges. As long as you’re checked into the park before opening time, you have the same chance as everyone else.

What do I need to do before the queue opens?

1.       Make sure you have your Disneyland app and updated.  

2.       Scan your ticket to the app (if you haven’t already done so).  If you have a group, link everyone’s park tickets so that only one person needs to make the reservation.  Each person must have an account in the Disney app for this to work. If each person in your group tries to get a boarding pass individually, you may end up with each person having different group numbers (or some not getting any at all).  Linking tickets ensures everyone in the group boards at the same time.  

3.       If there are people in your group who aren’t joining for the ride, delete them from the list of tickets linked.  If you don’t do this, you’ll need to spend a few seconds unchecking them when you’re making your reservation.  Each second can mean the difference between getting a decent group number and not getting one at all.

4.       Make sure everyone in your group is checked in, meaning each person’s park ticket has been scanned in at the gate for entry to Disneyland.  If one person from your group isn’t present at the time the queue opens, your boarding pass process won’t work.

5.       Have your designated person ready with their phone on the home page of the Disneyland app.

Don’t go into the Rise of the Resistance page yet.  If you do so before the park open time, the process will not work.

What do I do once the clock hits that opening time?

Have you ever purchased tickets on your phone?  When the virtual box office opens, at the very second, the race is on as you compete with thousands of people for a chance to get tickets.  Boarding passes work in a similar way.  You may want to have someone who can count down to the exact second the clock strikes 8:00 (or 9:00).

At that moment, the virtual queue opens.  

1.       From the home page, click on “Find Out More.”  

2.       Then select “Join Boarding Group.”  It may require refreshing a few times (or a few dozen times), but keep persevering.  

Hopefully, you’ll have successfully secured a group number.  Go ahead and enjoy the rest of the park.  Keep an eye out for phone notifications.  When your group is called, you’ll have one hour to check into the ride.

What if I don’t have a smart phone or the Disneyland App?

There are a few kiosks (one in Tomorrowland near Buzz Lightyear and one next to Splash Mountain) where you could possibly get a boarding pass.  However, boarding groups are wiped out within seconds.  By the time you slide your ticket into the kiosk, it could be too late (even if you happen to be the very first person in line).

 While the process of getting a boarding pass can be highly stressful, it reduces the time you would otherwise spend in a physical line.  Time is money in theme parks.  Instead of waiting hours upon hours, all you’ll need to do is return to Galaxy’s Edge at the time your group is called, and the line shouldn’t be more than half hour. The fact that Disney is implementing this system and the intensity of the competition are testaments to the quality of this ride.  Rise of the Resistance is a revolutionary four-ride system feat that sets a new precedent for what’s possible.  You’re not just going on a ride.  You’re entering an immersive experience like never before.  And if locals are willing to subject themselves through this craziness multiple times in a week (with mixed results), wouldn’t that mean that the ride is worth it?
