Pink Pastels Pt 17
Tumblr media
Description: It's a three-day weekend, so you go out dancing, run into Miguel, and Gabi does her own investigating.
Pt 18
You’re really not sure how you didn’t make the connection between Miguel and Spiderman before. They have the same build, similar voices, they do that same head tilt thing, and they call you cariño, along with a few other heart-stopping petnames.
“Y/N, y/n, earth to y/n.” Janey is waving her hand in front of your face, her bag on her shoulder.
You snap back to reality and scroll past the news footage of Spiderman saving a bus full of senior citizens. “Yeah, sorry, I’m listening.”
“Are you? Because Principal Alan just emailed us saying a water line broke, so school is canceled tomorrow, and I was trying to tell you about it.”
“Really? So, we get a three-day weekend?” You set down your phone, face down, so you aren’t tempted to pick it back up and obsessively search for more footage of Spiderman.
“Yeah, so I’m thinking we go out tonight?” Janey suggests a mischievous expression on her face.
“Oh no, no, are we going to one of those weird clubs where all the drinks aren’t called what they actually are, and the DJ wears a mask or something weird like that?”
Janey rolls her eyes playfully. “I take you to one speakeasy that’s a little weird—”
“A little? Janey, people were having sex just like, on the floor.”
“That is not usually a part of it, that was really weird.” Janey admits, giving you an apologetic smile. “But still, I know this new club, it’s really cool, and not weird at all.”
Janey is a liar. The club is super weird. All the employees are dressed in an odd sequined fabric, the drinks are dirt cheap, the DJ keeps switching up the songs halfway through, and the whole place is housed in an abandoned hospital.
“Janey, this place blows, can we please leave?” You shout over the music, trying to pretend you’re not grossed out by the couple making out on a decades old hospital bed.
“It’s an experience, y/n, just relax, have another drink, if the music doesn’t get better by the time, it’s midnight we’ll leave.”
You look at your phone, it’s eleven thirty now, you can tough it out for thirty more minutes.
“Okay, but you get my drink, and I’ll save our spot.”
Janey smiles and thanks you, then disappears into the crowd.
You sway to the music, watching the others around you. Everyone seems to be having a lot more fun than you. Then the song changes, the bass so loud you feel it in your chest.
Janey returns and hands you your drink. You both clink your plastic cups together and down them.
“Oh, that is so bad, ew, ew, ew, what the fuck was in that gasoline?” Janey crinkles her nose, coughing into her elbow.
Yours was pretty bad too, but you’re used to drinking shitty drinks from your time with Todd.
“Let’s just dance, I kind of like this song.” You say, holding your hands out to Janey and pulling her further into the crowd.
You leave the club right at midnight, pleasantly buzzed but not drunk, and you two share a cab back to your apartments, with Janey promising that next time she’ll pick a better place.
You wave goodbye and take the elevator up to your apartment, smoothing out your dress in the reflection on the doors. Tight, low cut, a gorgeous color, you love this dress because you just look so damn good in it.
Part of you wonders what Miguel would think of it. You toy with the idea of knocking on his door, pretending you need his help with something but think better of it. It’s midnight, Gabi is most definitely asleep, you don’t want to accidentally wake her up and have her see you in a clubbing outfit.
The elevator doors ding, you step out, and run straight into Miguel.
He looks you up and down, then cocks an eyebrow. “Night out?”
You try to subtly tug down your skirt. “Yeah, but it was kind of lame, so we left early.”
His eyes flicker behind you. “We?”
“Janey and I.”
He visibly relaxes and stretches his arms behind his head. “Can’t sleep, thought I’d go for a run.”
Your eyes drink in the bend of his arms, the flexing of his muscles through the long sleeves of his form fitting gray shirt.
You want him bad, so bad you start to open your mouth to say something you’ll blame on the alcohol flooding through your system, then you remember Gabi’s face. How she clung to you crying, how scared she was that you’d never come back.
You can’t mess this up, can’t throw yourself at Miguel just because he’s kind, smart, handsome, a good dad, and he eats pussy like a fucking champ. You have to be smart about this, it’s not just you and him, but you, him, and Gabi. And you will never do anything to hurt Gabi, and you’re sure neither would Miguel.
“That’s too bad, hopefully it’ll tire you out.” You say, forcing yourself to meet his eyes and steady your breathing.
“And what about you? Up for a run?” His voice dips low, and you know exactly what he’s asking.
“I can’t.” You say even as you scream internally, the parts of your brain fueled by lust cussing you out six ways to Sunday. “I’m so beat, and I’ve been drinking, it wouldn’t be a good idea.”
Miguel scans you once more, then nods. “Take an Advil before you go to bed, I’m making you breakfast, I’ll see you at ten.”
You buffer for a moment. Is he asking you out on a date?
“If you’d like, no pressure.” He backtracks, rubbing the back of his neck, his expression sheepish and nervous?
Is Miguel O’Hara nervous?
You step closer to him and brush your painted lips across his cheek, leaving a perfect imprint of your lips, the pink of your lipstick complimenting his tanned skin. “I’d like that. I’ll see you at ten.”
Then you slip into your apartment, flop down onto your couch, and scream into the nearest pillow.
“Lyla?”
“Yeah, Gabi?” Lyla pops into the room, her form dimmed to match the low light of her room.
“Is Papá here?”
“It looks like he’s in the hallway with y/n, do you want me to tell him you’re awake?” She’s sitting beside Gabi’s bed now, a concerned look on her face.
Gabi turns onto her back, staring up at the glow in the dark stars on her ceiling. “No, it’s okay.”
Lyla hums in response. “Anything else kiddo?”
“Can you see if Ms. Y/N is single?”
“Sure, one second.”
Gabi hugs her bear tighter as she waits.
“She is, and it looks like…oh, ya know what, maybe your dad should tell you this stuff.”
“Lyla, come on, I thought you were cool.” Gabi pouts, sitting up in her bed and staring at Lyla’s shifting form.
“Ugh, okay but, promise me you’ll tell your dad you heard about this on the news or something.”
“I promise.” Gabi says, rubbing at her eyes, sleep already pulling at her, beckoning her back to dreamland.
“Todd Jameson, twenty-six, found dead in the Brooklyn River. Apparently, he was pretty scratched up, but that was probably from the stuff that was in the river.” Lyla bites her lip then continues. “Anyways in other news, a water pipe burst in your school, so you get a three-day weekend! That’s super exciting, congrats, kiddo.”
“No school tomorrow, yay.” Gabi yawns and lays back down, snuggling closer to Oso.
“Yep, no school, so just get some sleep, okay? Don’t think about anything but how much fun you’re gonna have with your dad on this three-day weekend.” Lyla urges, her tone soft as Gabi drifts off to sleep.
“Promise me you’ll tell Papá that Ms. Y/N is single.” Gabi insists, fighting sleep like a wild honey badger.
“I will, I promise. Now sleep, three-day weekend.”
“Three day weekend.” Gabi whispers, her head drooping, and her breathing evening out as Lyla dissipates from the room.
Miguel checks his watch to see a message from Lyla.
You couldn’t have been any more subtle with his death, could you?
He chuckles and dons his suit. Looks like he needs to get rid of a body.
Posting this while I wait for my flight bc I couldn’t wait any longer to get it to y’all!!!!

Downward Spiral
Summary: No One Knows AU Part 7, Managing work-life balance as a superhero is hard in the best of times.
These are not the best of times.
Author's Note: So turns out, this didn't take nearly as long as I expected and there also aren't nearly as many chapters as I expected there to be (just three), so uh, here's the first chapter! Have fun with it like Danny won't!
...
At an actually decent suggestion from Jazz, Danny starts going home before going on patrol, just because too often if he tries to patrol first, he misses his much earlier much stricter curfew, and he really can’t afford to do that right now.
Jazz comes with him a lot of the time.  She brings a thermos or strategies in regards to the ghosts they’re most likely to find.  She catches the ghost sometimes, and Danny always feels grateful that her aim has gotten better.  Ghost fighting is more than a little easier with backup.
Tonight, however, nothing much helps, as there’s so many ghosts out and about it doesn’t matter how efficient or well-planned they are, they still get home after midnight.  Danny phases them both through the walls and up to his bedroom, and then collapses onto his bed and changes back without moving.
“That’s it,” he groans.  “I’m sleeping for a week.”
“Unfortunately we still have school tomorrow,” Jazz says, but he can tell she’s exhausted too.  She flops down on the bed next to Danny, but doesn’t bother looking at him as she keeps talking.  “At least it’s almost Friday.”
Danny manages a weak laugh.  “Never thought I’d live to see the day you’d be excited to see the weekend,” he says.
“I’m excited to be well rested,” Jazz mutters, and Danny looks over to find her eyes are already shut and she seems half asleep already.  He doesn’t want to make her move when they’re both this tired, but he doesn’t know if he has the strength to walk to her bedroom either.  So instead, they both end up falling asleep sideways on the bed, with Danny having just enough time to shove the thermos under his pillow to deal with in the morning before he passes out too.
A knock on his door wakes them both, but there’s barely any pause before it opens and Mom walks quickly in, looking nervous about something.
“Danny have you seen— oh, Jazz, you’re in here!”
Danny blinks blearily, trying to push himself upwards.
“Sorry Mom,” Jazz says, already awake and two steps ahead like usual.  “I was helping Danny study last night, and we both just kind of fell asleep.”
“Oh no worries, sweetie, I just didn’t know where you were,” Mom says.  And Danny expects that to be the end of it, but instead Jazz stands up and walks across the room, then gives Mom a quick hug.
Danny blinks in surprise, but Mom hugs Jazz tightly back for a second before giving her a smile and heading back out, with a call that she’d see them downstairs for breakfast.
“Uh, you guys good?” Danny asks, and Jazz turns to face him, blinking a couple times.  Maybe she’s not as awake as he thought she was.
“Oh, Mom and Dad just get more nervous when they don’t know where we are now,” Jazz says.  “That’s why I suggested coming home before patrol.  It’s not your fault, but we shouldn’t get in trouble for it.”
Danny narrows his eyes in concern.  “That’s why you suggested coming home before patrol?”
“Well, that and it’s generally easier to patrol if we’ve already had dinner,” Jazz says.  “It’s really okay, Danny.  Don’t beat yourself up about it.”
“I wasn’t,” Danny says, sitting upwards and stretching his arms above his head in an effort to wake himself up.  “Meet you downstairs for breakfast.”
“Sure thing,” Jazz says, heading out to her own room.
Danny still isn’t quite awake when he does make it downstairs, but he sort of feels like he can make it through the day while feeling only slightly like a zombie.  As long as nothing happens, anyway, like Dash getting on his case or some large assignment being given or another ghost attack.
Oh who is he kidding, he’s doomed.
Someone nudges him in the shoulder, and Danny turns to see Jazz approaching from his side.  “I can drive you to school today if you want,” she says.  “Just so you don’t have to rush quite as much.”
“Yes please,” Danny says.  “You’re a lifesaver.”  He grabs one of the pieces of toast sitting on the plate in the center of the table, then takes a bite without bothering to put any butter or jam on it.
He manages to get ready with just a little time to spare, which gives him time to grab the thermos and head down to the lab.  Danny manages to send the ghosts stuffed into the thermos through the portal back into the ghost zone, where they’ll hopefully be for a while.
He’s about to turn around and head back upstairs when he hears the lab door open, and he freezes.
“Danny?” Mom asks, as she walks down the steps.  “What are you doing in the lab, don’t you need to be getting ready for school.”
“Uh, I think I left a pencil down here when I was cleaning,” Danny says, turning to the nearby cluttered lab table as an excuse, and starting to shift through papers.
Mom looks around with a raised eyebrow, lingering on the messy tables and scattered papers and beakers.  “Maybe you should take another crack at the cleaning part,” she says.
“Uh, totally,” Danny says, grabbing the first pencil he lands on and heading back upstairs.  “You got it Mom!  Sorry, I was just super busy with studying.”
“No, that’s alright, hun, studies come first.  Just make sure you make some time to do your chores too, okay?”
“Sure thing,” Danny calls as he runs back up the stairs.  He waits until he’s out of earshot to mutter to himself, “I’ll add it to the list of priorities, right under the ghost fighting.”
He shakes it off and moves to grab his bag, then heads out front to meet Jazz, who’s already waiting in the car.
“Ghosts taken care of?” she asks as Danny shuts the door.
“Yep,” Danny says as she pulls away.  “Thanks for the ride.  I don’t think I would have had time otherwise.”
“No problem.  I love it when there isn’t a thermos full of malicious entities stuck under your pillow all day.”
“It is one of my favorite decorative habits,” Danny says, giving an admittedly still exhausted smirk.
Apparently a little more exhausted than he thought, because he ends up falling asleep on the way to school, and Jazz shakes him awake when they get there.
“You sure you’re up for this?” she asks as Danny drags himself and his bag from the car.
“So up for this,” Danny says, waving her off.  “I’m gonna take a nap in homeroom and probably during lunch.  I’ll be fine.”
“Alright,” Jazz says.  “If you’re sure.”
“I’m definitely not.  How are you so awake by the way, that’s not even fair.”
“I wasn’t the one that did all of the actual fighting last night,” Jazz says as they start towards the school.  “And I also have a good sleep schedule the rest of the time.”
“Good sleep schedules are for chumps.”
“Yeah see, that’s probably part of your problem.”
“Bah.”
They split up as Danny reaches homeroom, where he does in fact put his head on his desk and sleep until the bell rings again.
He really can’t afford to sleep through his algebra class, though.  That one had taken the biggest hit while he’d been off doing crimes for Freakshow, and algebra has never been his strong suit.  He’s managed to get his grade back up to a somewhat decent C-, but it’s a shaky C-, one he can’t afford to slack on.  So in passing period, he splashes some water on his face, smacks himself in the face a couple of times, and then heads in to force himself to focus on numbers.
He sits near the window next to Tucker, who has algebra the same time as him, and who looks significantly less exhausted than he does, which is probably why he feels okay with whispering to him as class starts.
“Hey, did you get the homework done?”
Danny’s head snaps over to him.  “What?”
There isn’t homework due today, is there?  How did he forget that?
Oh, what does it matter?  He wouldn’t have had time to do it last night anyway, between getting slammed into concrete walls, or through store windows, or into other ghosts.
Tucker, next to him, holds up an entire packet of quadratic equations, all of which he’s done, and all of which look complicated.
Danny slams his head down on his desk.  “Oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me.”
“Sorry dude,” Tucker says with a sympathetic frown.
Danny looks hopefully towards him.  “Could you help me make it up after school?”
Tucker winces, which doesn’t seem to bode well for his chances.
“Uh, sorry,” he says, looking away.  “Sam wants to, uh, do a thing.”
“A thing?”
“Yeah, at the park.  And you’re still grounded, so…”
Danny sighs, looking back at his desk.  “Right, yeah.  Thanks anyway.”
Tucker doesn’t say anything, and then the bell rings, and the teacher up front calls for everyone to pass in their homework.
There’s a two day late policy which doesn’t make exceptions for the weekend, meaning Danny’s gonna have to figure out some way to get it done today so he can turn it in tomorrow.  Maybe he actually will be up late to study that night.  Ghost fighting comes before homework, but homework tends to find a way to come before sleep.
And if he doesn’t want to piss off his mom, he’s gotta fit cleaning the lab in there somewhere.
Whatever, he can sleep all day Saturday.  It’ll be fine.  He’s grounded anyway.
Lunch seems to take forever to get there, and by the time Danny finally makes it to their usual table, Sam and Tucker are already there and talking.  Danny sets his tray down, then drops his backpack down on the table next to it and buries his head in it.
“Late night?” Sam asks.
Danny makes a grumbled noise of agreement.
“I thought you caught up on all your homework from being gone.”
“That does not stop me from forgetting about new homework, apparently,” Danny says, managing to pull his head up.
“Yikes,” Sam says.  “Good luck with that.”
“I’m gonna need it,” Danny mutters.  He grabs the apple from his tray and takes a bite a split second before he remembers why he doesn’t eat the terrible mealy school apples and spits it back out onto the tray.
“Geez Danny, you think you could try being a functional human today?” Sam asks, pulling her tray back towards her.
“Apparently not,” Danny says, giving a short laugh.  He covers the bite of the apple with a napkin to throw away when he finishes the rest of it.  “Sorry Sam, I didn’t get enough sleep last night.”
“I can tell,” Sam says with a roll of her eyes.  There was a short pause before Sam says, “You’re not alone in that, though.  There were ghosts fighting all night, they kept waking me up.”
Danny winces.  “Sorry, Sam.  That sucks,” he says.
“I bet it was Invis-o-bill again,” Sam says, turning to look at Tucker, probably trying to include him in the conversation, since he’s been pretty quiet through most of lunch, looking down at his PDA.  “Did you guys see how much damage he caused last night?  He needs to pay more attention.”  She nudges Tucker.  “He woke you up too, right?”
“Uh, yeah,” Tucker says, looking down and tapping something on his PDA.
Danny doesn’t say anything, and instead takes a drink of his chocolate milk.  He probably should have paid more attention last night.  He and Jazz have been trying to cut down on the property damage as a way to help his image a bit.  The only problem being last night he was still out fighting at 11PM and he was achy and exhausted.  He’s still achy and exhausted.
Still, if Sam’s noticed that’s a problem.  The main point for all of this is to show her Phantom in a new light.  If that’s not working, then he needs to be doing something he’s not.
“I’m just saying,” Sam says to Tucker, apparently taking his agreement as more than it seemed to Danny.  “I’m getting a little tired of not getting enough sleep just because of a bunch of stupid ghosts.”
Danny snorts, taking another sip of milk to cover it as a cough.  That makes two of them.
Sam drops the ghost fighting after that, but Danny has trouble shaking off the sour tinge it adds to his mood for the rest of lunch.  He tries to reason his way out of feeling crummy about it while walking to his next class.
Of course Sam’s irritated she didn’t sleep well.  Danny’s irritated he didn’t sleep well too.  And of course she blamed it on Phantom.  That’s nothing new for her.  He’s just not in a great mood because he’s tired, and things will be more bearable tomorrow.

Nagisa slips into his house, deciding to enjoy the quiet while his mom is still at work. He drops into a chair in the living room, then pulls out his homework. He doesn’t end up actually working on that for very long, and ends up falling asleep. It’s an hour later when he wakes up to the door opening.
“Hey, Mom,” Nagisa calls, blinking to dislodge the sleep from his eyes.
“Why do you sound like that? Your voice is so deep,” his mom says, sounding annoyed.
“Sorry, I was asleep. It’ll regulate. Anyway, how was your day?” Nagisa asks as he slips the rubber bands out of his hair.
He runs his hands through his hair, frowning as he realizes how long it’s gotten.
“It was fine.” She walks in, and sits beside him. “I had a good day at work, and I picked up the groceries for your favorite soup.”
Nagisa frowns.
“Oh, why? You don’t like that soup.”
Shit, she wants something. What could she possibly want right now?
“I just thought I’d make it. It’s not like I dislike it.”
Oh no, she’s dodging. It’s bad.
“Ok, that’s fine. What are your plans for the rest of the week?”
“Well, my company is having a party this weekend, but I haven’t gotten the exact details yet.”
Yes she has. She definitely wants me to come, but there’s no way that’s it. What’s she going to ask me to do?
Nagisa hums.
“Well, I hope you have a good time. I need to do my homework, so I’ll be upstairs doing that unless you need help with dinner.”
She shakes her head, and Nagisa stands up. He takes his bag and books up the stairs to his room before dropping onto the bed.
“Ugh, I am not ready for the other shoe to drop. I wonder how long it’s going to take. It’s already Thursday, so it can’t take that long if the party is this weekend.”
Nagisa buries his face into his pillow with a long-suffering sigh. He’s right, and his mother sits him down after dinner the next night for a chat.
“So, I want you to come with me to my party this weekend. It’s going to be on Saturday, and it’s going to start at six o’ clock. So cancel any weekend plans you have.”
“Ok, I’m just going to have to call Karma, but that’s easy enough. Is there anything else?”
“No, just know that I’ll be helping you get ready on Saturday.”
Nagisa nods, standing up.
“Ok, what time do I need to start that process?”
“Three.”
That’s a long time. There’s definitely something she isn’t telling me.
Nagisa tries to put it out of his head until he has to talk to Karma the next day.
He walks out with Karma while Karma chatters about something he’s going to be doing later.
“Why are you so quiet?” he asks suddenly.
“Oh, I actually needed to talk to you about that. I’m not going to be able to help you with that writing project this weekend. My mom wants me to go to some work event with her.”
“Then why don’t we just push it to Sunday?”
“Um… I’ve got a lot of cleaning to do this Sunday. I know it’s already Thursday, but can you find someone else to help you with it?”
Karma frowns.
“Yeah, I guess I can. Are you excited, or is it going to be boring?”
“I’m not sure. I don’t have much information yet, but I guess I’m not too bothered that I have to do it.”
Karma hums.
“Well that sucks, especially since I’m not coming into school tomorrow. So, I’ll see you on Monday.”
“Ok, bye, Karma. Thanks for being understanding.”
Karma laughs. Nagisa walks home, and forces himself not to think about it again. Since it’s only a day and half away, there’s no reason to stress about it. He just needs to wait and see what happens.
His mom doesn’t end up coming into his room until three thirty on Saturday. She’s holding the most extravagant midnight blue dress that Nagisa has ever seen.
“What is that?”
“This is your outfit for the event. We have to get started if we want to have your hair and makeup done in time. It took me longer than I thought to do my own makeup.”
“I thought I was going to be wearing my tux if it was that fancy.”
“No, sweetheart, you’re going to look much better in this.”
“I don’t want to wear that, Mom.”
“Well, if you don’t wear it, then I’m going to pull you out of that stupid E-Class. If your teacher still has a problem with it, then I’ll pull you out of the school entirely. It has not been good for you, and those people are bad influences.”
Nagisa sighs, his eyes darkening.
“Ok, fine.”
“Good, now let’s get you ready.”
She dresses him up, curls his hair, and puts makeup on him.
“Why do I have to do this?” Nagisa asks as he steps into the heels that his mother bought him.
“Because I told you to. You’re so beautiful like this.”
The drive is quiet. The venue is extravagant, and huge. There are tons of people milling around, and most of them wave as Nagisa’s mom leads him to the door. Nagisa’s face burns, but he doesn’t say anything. She’s smiling widely though.
“Hey, Hiromi, it’s good to see you. Oh, and I see you finally decided to bring your daughter. Hi, sweetie, how are you?” a man at the entrance asks.
Nagisa doesn’t look up until his mother elbows him.
“She’s just shy.”
“Hi,” Nagisa says lamely, barely glancing at the man’s face.
“Come on, dear.”
His mother spends the next hour and a half parading him around to all of her friends, cooing about how adorable her daughter is. Nagisa barely says anything until she finally sits down.
“You told your co-workers that you have a daughter?”
“Well, not exactly. They just assumed, and I never corrected them.”
“I’m leaving.”
“No you’re not. You want to go back to school, don’t you? Just stay for another hour or two. It’ll be more fun from here on out.”
“Why do you even care if I walk home?”
“Because my boss isn’t here yet, and I want you to meet him.”
Nagisa sits down too, tucking his chin in his hand.
“Don’t do that, it’s not cute.”
Nagisa huffs, but leans back. He almost immediately sits up, straightening his spine before his mother can say anything. It’s another hour before two men walk over. One is older, and the other one looks like he’s in his early twenties.
“Hi, how are you?” Nagisa’s mom asks, standing up.
The older man smiles.
“Good afternoon, I’m good. Is this Nagisa?”
“Yes, this is my baby, Nagisa.”
“My son’s wanted to meet you for some time now. Your mother speaks very highly of you.”
Nagisa forces a smile onto his face as he glances at the younger man. He still looks like he can’t be younger than twenty two.
“Well, it’s wonderful to meet both of you.”
“Why don’t you go dance with Trevor while I talk to my boss?” Nagisa’s mom asks, pushing Nagisa towards the younger man.
Trevor holds his hand out, and Nagisa has to stop himself from physically recoiling. He takes Trevor’s hand, and lets himself be led onto the dance floor. The music is quiet and slow, but Nagisa still has them dance arms length from each other. Trevor tries to talk to him a few times, but he isn’t really listening. Eventually Trevor gets the hint, and takes him back over to the table.
“Ah, how was your dance?” the older man asks.
“It wasn’t great. Can we go, Dad?”
“Yes, of course. It was nice seeing you, Hiromi. It was also a pleasure to meet you Nagisa, I hope to see you again.”
They’re walking away before either of them can respond. Nagisa’s mom turns back to him.
“Come on, we’re going home.” They’re in the car before she speaks again. “You could have at least pretended to be nice.”
“I was nice. I just wasn’t the kind of nice that he wanted. Also, he thought I was a girl.”
“Yes, I know that.”
She opens her car door, and slams it shut again as soon as she’s out.
“Mom, I don’t want to go to your work functions so I can act like I’m a girl.”
She turns around to face Nagisa.
“I am doing this for your own good. You could have so many opportunities if you just stop being so stubborn. I could have gotten assigned something that could have changed our lives. Instead now they’re annoyed with me, because you were rude.”
“I wasn’t rude.”
“You were rude. Now go to your room.”
Nagisa goes to his room, changes, and throws himself down on his bed. He silently sobs, his face buried in his pillow. His mom comes by to take his phone, but leaves him alone otherwise. So, he spends the rest of the night crying alone in his room.

Acco: “Dear diary, my first day at high school has certainly been unusual. I’m part of a betting pool about who principal Summer is having a baby with. I think it's Don Lothario."
Tumblr media
Atreo: “Kiry I’m having the worst day.”
Kiry: “I’m sorry to hear that."
Atreo: "I just wanna go home and mope."
Kiry: "Oh but I thought we could spend some more time together after school and catch up properly?”
Atreo: “We should but can we do it tomorrow?"
Tumblr media
Teacher: “Keep studying everyone. Ignore Miss Ito serving her in-class detention because I don't want to stay after school.”
Esma: *writes* “I won’t catfish my teacher on Simder, pretending to be a sexy astronaut.”
Teacher: “For 6 months!”
Esma: "... It was 8 actually."
Tumblr media
Teacher: “Yes! 8 months I chatted with her, telling her how much I loved her, planning our life together, picking baby names. What’s wrong with this generation?!”
Atreo: “This is gonna be on the test isn’t it?”
Teacher: “Yes.”
Tumblr media
Teacher: “Anyway, putting my emotional devastation aside, Atreo brought in something special today. Spicy Dragon, his childhood toy. Atreo, come up here and tell us all about it.”
Atreo: “... W-What?!”
Tumblr media
Everyone suddenly t-poses and choruses: “Talk about it. Talk about Spicy Dragon Atreo. Explain yourself.”
Atreo: “Oh no. The curse!”
Tumblr media
Atreo: “AHHHHHHHHHHHH! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!”
Kiry: “Woah, Atreo? You alright?”
Asmara: “What’s the matter bae- uh, I mean friend?”
Zehra: “It must be the curse only I know all about… Poor Atreo.”
Tumblr media
Teacher: “Mr Atherstone, are you alright? I’d tell you to go to the nurse’s office if we had one.”
Atreo: “I-I’m not, sorry, I- Can I leave?”
Teacher: “We don’t support such an action I’m afraid. Your grades will suffer.”
Atreo: “Fine. I’ll just wait it out.”
Tumblr media
Atreo: “Today was the WORST!”
Acco: “Aw, let me distract you.”
Atreo: “Please!”
Acco: “Who do you think Principle Summer’s having her unborn child with?”
Tumblr media
Atreo: “She’s pregnant?! Who would ever woohoo with her?”
Acco: “I was thinking Don Lothario but a lot of students are betting on the Grim Reaper.”
Atreo: “Yeah that tracks. I guess not having Principle Summer as my mum makes me feel a lot better about my life.”

Despite missing a class and being off for 3 days, Atreo is performing superbly at school and is eligible for early graduation.

But instead he opts for an early night.
Tumblr media
Atreo doesn’t celebrate or even tell his family about his grades, before going to bed. He soon drifts off with no intention of travelling anywhere to meet anyone tonight…

A few hours later…
Zehra: “He looks gorgeous when he’s sleeping. I’m happy I took so many pictures and DNA samples. Oh I think he’s waking up. Hello my love!”
Tumblr media
Atreo: “Uhhh- W-wha-ZEHRA?!”
Zehra: “I’m so happy you could make it. I was a bit worried when you teleported in, t-posed, then fell asleep on the couch but you’re here and that’s all that matters.
Tumblr media
Atreo: “Where am I?!”
Zehra: “My romantic hideaway! It’s the surprise I was talking about! You can bring your future conquests here, get them all flirty-”
Atreo: “This place isn’t flirty! It’s terrifying!,”
Zehra: “Don’t fret my love-”
Tumblr media
Atreo: “Forget this! I’m out of here-”
Zehra: “Atreo wait, it’s a full moon and past midnight, it’s too dangerous the werewolves are out!”
Atreo: “By the Watcher, why? Won’t you end my suffering?”
Nope 😈

a/n: hellooooo i’m back :) sorry for the gap, school has been very stressful but my exams for this term are over so hopefully i’ll have more time to write
this was a request from someone on Instagram :D
Sirius watched the fire consume the hideous words in the letter his mother had sent him. It was far past midnight but he was sitting on the common room couch, his legs tucked against his chest, arms folded over his knees, chin resting on his arms, staring into the fireplace watching as the corner of the paper caught flames and burned to ash. The tears in his eyes blurred his vision but the bright fiery orange of the flame was clear enough.
“Sirius?” Sirius’ head turned quickly in the direction of the voice. Remus was standing at the entrance to the staircase of the boy’s dormitories.
“Remus? What are you doing up?”
“I could ask you the same,” Remus said.
“Can’t sleep,” Sirius said simply.
“Is everything okay?” Remus asked, sitting down beside him.
“Yeah, everything’s fine,” Sirius lied. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, just thirsty,” Remus smiled. He followed Sirius’ gaze to the fireplace and the burning paper caught his eye. His smile faded. “What’s in the fire?”
“It’s… nothing.”
“Sirius,” Remus said, “we don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to. But just remember that I’m here for you, okay? And James and Peter are too. We love you.” Sirius snuggled closer.
“Thank you,” he said quietly.
“Anytime, love,” Remus said. “Are you cold?”
“A little.”
“Here, take my sweater.” Remus pulled the sweater over his head, his shirt riding up, and Sirius caught himself staring at the strip of exposed skin in Remus’ midsection.
“See something you like?” Remus said, smirking as he handed Sirius his sweater and pulled his shirt back down.
“Shut up,” Sirius said, pulling the sweater over his head (which conveniently hid the blush on his cheeks). Remus tried to stifle a yawn but Sirius noticed. “Go back to bed, Moons.”
“No, I’d rather stay here with you,” Remus said.
“You’re tired,” Sirius said gently.
“I don’t care.”
“Well, I do.”
“Will you come to sleep as well?” Remus asked but Sirius hesitated to reply.
“Yeah, I suppose I should,” he said eventually.
“Then let’s go,” Remus said. He stood up and held out his hand to Sirius. Sirius took it and they walked up the stairs to their dorm together.
“Good night,” Remus whispered once they were in the room.
“Good night, Moony.” Remus bit his lip and hesitated for a moment before kissing Sirius lightly on the lips. Sirius smiled at him and squeezed his hand before crawling into bed.
Remus had made Sirius feel much better but it still took him hours to fall asleep. Thoughts of his family kept intruding on his mind and pushing sleep away. Sirius kept repeating Remus’ words to him in his mind. We love you. He thought of Remus’ lips on his. In the end, Sirius fell asleep imagining what tomorrow would be like when he and Remus went on their first proper date.
Remus and Sirius had been going out for a week now. Sirius had unintentionally revealed to Remus that he had feelings for him, feelings that people who are just friends shouldn’t have for each other. At first, he was mortified with himself, sure that Remus would say that he could never like Sirius in that way and hate him for ruining their friendship. But Remus had shut him up with a kiss. Sirius discovered, to his great surprise, that they had both liked each other for almost a year and had simply been good at hiding it (“you were terrible at hiding it!” James had said, overhearing their conversation and deciding it was his business for some reason. “You two are just equally oblivious.” “Shut up, Prongs!” “Fuck off, James!”)
Sirius had asked Remus to go out with him on the next Hogsmeade weekend, which just so happened to be tomorrow. Sirius had planned out the date down to the last detail in his mind. He’d been wanting to take Remus out all year and he was determined to have the perfect date. And it was the thought of Remus’ smile that finally got Sirius to sleep.
The following morning, Sirius, Remus and Peter were rudely awoken by James fucking Potter being a clumsy son of a bitch and somehow managing to break the pole holding up the shower curtain and making a loud noise.
“Honestly, James how do you fucking manage?” Remus sighed, getting out of bed.
“Well, look at the bright side,” James said. “Now you get to spend more time in Hogsmeade because you won’t be sleeping for half the day.”
“For your information,” Sirius said from his bed. “Some of us like sleeping for half the day. And no, I will not forgive you for waking me at an ungodly hour in the morning.”
“Whatever,” James said, rolling his eyes. “I’m going to breakfast. Anyone coming?”
“I suppose I will,” Peter said, “since I’m already awake.” Once they left, Remus sat down at the foot of Sirius’ bed and trailed his finger down Sirius’ arms.
“I hate James,” Sirius said, checking his watch. “It’s too early to think.”
“Agreed,” Remus yawned. “You should go back to sleep, Pads.”
“Nah, I’d rather be with you,” Sirius said, sitting up.
“Are you sure you’re up for today?” Remus asked. “We can stay in, I don’t mind.”
“Of course, I’m up for it, Moony,” Sirius said. “You’re not getting out of our date that easily.”
“I don’t want to get out of—”
“I know, I know, I’m just teasing,” Sirius said. “Come on, let’s go.”
By the time they got to breakfast, James and Peter had left for Hogsmeade. It was only quarter to ten. They ate little, not having much of an appetite that early in the morning and left for Hogsmeade.
---------
“Butterbeer or iced coffee?” Remus asked once they arrived in the Three Broomsticks.
“What kind of a question is that?” Sirius snorted.
“Iced coffee it is,” Remus grinned. They paid for their drinks and left the Three Broomsticks.
“Where do you want to go?” Remus asked.
“Well, I’d say Honeydukes but it’ll be full of Hogwarts students now so we should probably wait until later,” Sirius said. “So I don’t mind.” Remus had never seen the shy smile that spread across Sirius’ face and it was making his heart beat faster. He suddenly became very aware of the proximity between the two of them.
Remus sipped his coffee but almost choked on it when his hand brushed Sirius’. He looked down at the floor to hide the blush blooming on his cheeks. Sirius linked his pinkie with Remus’ and Remus couldn’t help taking a peek at Sirius out of the corner of his eye and only to find Sirius smirking at him. He internally cursed himself for being so bloody obvious.
“Can I, um… is it okay if I hold your hand?” Sirius asked quietly. Not fucking helping, Remus thought as he felt his face grow warmer still.
“I— yeah, of course,” Remus said. “Why wouldn’t it be?”
“I wasn’t sure if you wanted people to know about this,” Sirius said, lacing his fingers with Remus’ properly this time. “About… us. I mean, you’re not fully out, right?” Remus thought about it for a moment. Sirius was technically right. He was not out to a lot of people. But then he shook his head.
“I’m out to the people who matter,” he said. “I don’t care if or how other people find out.” Sirius nodded. “What about you though? Your family…”
“They can’t do anything worse than they’ve already done,” Sirius said. “I already ran away and that letter last night was just them writing to tell me that I’ve been officially disowned and burned off the tapestry.”
“Oh,” Remus said. “Sirius, don’t you want to—”
“Not today, Moony,” Sirius cut in. “I’m not letting them ruin today.”
“Okay,” Remus nodded. “Then I guess we could just wander for a while. Unless you have someplace specific in mind?”
“I know you want to go to the bookstore, Moons,” Sirius said. “Come on, I’m taking you.” Remus grinned.
“Well, if you insist,” he joked. Sirius laughed and allowed Remus to drag him to the bookstore where he watched Remus browse for nearly an hour and a half. Occasionally Remus would spot a book that he’d read and point it out to Sirius who would ask about it and listen fondly as Remus would excitedly tell him about his favourite characters or rant about everything wrong with the book.
“Honestly, I just bought this one because I thought the cover was pretty but it ended up being pretty good and… and I just realised I’ve been talking this entire time. I’m so sorry, I’ll be shutting up now.” Remus looked down at the ground, twisting his fingers together.
“You have nothing to apologise for,” Sirius said, taking Remus’ hand to calm the nervous habits. “I love listening to you talk.”
“Really?” Remus said skeptically.
“Yeah,” Sirius said.
“Even about books?”
“Especially about books.”
“Why? You don’t even like books.”
“But you do,” Sirius said. “And you get so excited when you talk about them. It’s adorable.”
“Shut up, I’m not adorable,” Remus muttered, shoving Sirius away playfully so that he wouldn’t notice him blushing for the millionth time today.
“Yes, you are,” Sirius insisted. “Are you hungry? We could go get lunch.”
“Yeah, I am hungry actually,” Remus said. “Just give me a second, I want to buy one of these.”
“Just one?” Sirius teased.
“Well no, I want to buy the entire store,” Remus said. “But I only have enough money and space for one. The only trouble is choosing which one I want.”
“I like this one,” Sirius said, pointing to one of the books. “It’s pretty.”
“Ever heard the phrase ‘don’t judge a book by its cover?” Remus asked.
“Yeah.”
“Well, we don’t listen to that,” Remus said. “The pretty one it is.” Sirius grinned. Remus paid for the book but he still looked reluctant to leave the store. He looked at the books around him and stroked the spine of the nearest one. Sirius sighed.
“Remus, come on, you have to eat. I will drag you out of here.”
“You might just have to,” Remus said, apologetically.
“Come,” Sirius said, taking his hand and pulling him out of the store. “You can keep talking about the books if you want.”
“Nah, that’ll just make me want to go back,” Remus said. “Now you have to talk.”
“About what?” Sirius asked.
“Anything,” Remus said. “Anything that you like.” Sirius couldn’t stay on one topic for more than two minutes but Remus loved it. He talked about everything from music to his hair to his clothes to their friends. They went back to the Three Broomsticks for lunch and had an entire conversation about food while they waited for their lunch to arrive which made them realise how hungry they were.
---------
“So what now?” Sirius asked once they’d finished eating. “We can go back to the bookstore if you want.”
“Nah, I won’t do that to you,” Remus said, laughing. “I, um, I actually know another place where, um… where we could go.”
“Lead the way,” Sirius said, happily. Remus led the way through the village, not letting go of Sirius’ hand. They passed the Hog’s Head and continued to the field up the hill. Sirius flopped down in the grass.
“Come sit,” Sirius said. Remus sat down on the grass beside Sirius and Sirius rested his head on Remus’ shoulder. The butterflies in Remus’ stomach were dancing around in complete chaos.
“I’m s-s-so tired,” Sirius yawned, stumbling across the words. His eyes closed slowly before his head snapped back up.
“Sorry,” Sirius said, his cheeks flushed. Remus was glad he wasn’t the only one blushing on this date.
“You have nothing to apologise for,” Remus said with a smile. “You can lie down if you want.” Remus pulled off his sweater and arranged it as a pillow for Sirius on his lap.
“Won’t you be cold?” Sirius asked.
“Nah, it’s not that cold anyway.”
“Okay, but I’m not sleeping,” Sirius said pointedly.
“Whatever you want,” Remus said, shrugging. Sirius lay down on Remus’ lap.
“Did you look for shapes in the clouds when you were a kid?” Sirius asked.
“Yeah,” Remus said. “Did you?”
“If you could see the clouds through my bedroom window,” Sirius said. “I didn’t spend much time in parks. So what do you see in the clouds now?” Remus looked up at the sky and thought about it for a while.
“Well, that one sort of looks like a hat,” he said. “With a… flower on top? I don’t know. That one just looks like a little kid tried to draw a person and it went badly. What do you—” Remus looked back at Sirius but he had already fallen asleep. He smiled fondly and pulled out his new pretty book.
Remus spent the next half an hour or so trying not to move; he didn’t want to wake Sirius. Mostly because he knew that Sirius needed sleep but he would be lying if he said that he wasn’t enjoying the time he could spend staring at Sirius’ beautiful face without getting caught. Of course, it didn’t really matter if he got caught anymore but it was still embarrassing how red his cheeks turned.
Remus could never help becoming enraptured by Sirius. He couldn’t keep from losing himself in Sirius’ sparkling grey eyes. He couldn’t help noticing the curve of Sirius’ lips when he smirked without feeling the ghost of Sirius’ kiss. He couldn’t see Sirius’ hair without imagining the last time he had run his fingers through it.
Sirius turned around so he was lying on his side with his face away from Remus and Remus realised he didn’t have to imagine running his fingers through Sirius’ hair. He stroked Sirius’ hair, gently twisting it around his fingers. A breeze blew over them, making Remus shiver a little and bringing a wave of fallen leaves and flowers. A yellow flower blew into Sirius’ hair and got stuck. Remus pulled it out and twirled it between his fingers. Suddenly, he had an idea. Remus picked all of the brightly coloured flowers he could find off the floor and put them safely beside him so they wouldn’t fly away. Then he parted Sirius’ hair into three and started to braid it, tucking the pieces behind each other.
He took a hair tie off his wrist (that he wore because Sirius could never remember to bring his own) and tied the ends of the braid together. Then he took the flowers he found and slotted them in between each knot of the braid. Remus tucked loose strands into the braid and lightly brushed his lips against Sirius’ temple.
Suddenly, Sirius’ hands clenched into fists and Remus could feel his body shaking.
“Sirius,” he said softly, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. “Sirius, wake up.”
---------
Sirius gasped and opened his eyes, turning sharply onto his back so he was looking right up at Remus. He slowly closed his eyes again as hot tears sting his eyes and roll down his cheeks. He sat up hurriedly. Sirius can’t breathe. He tries to suck air into his lungs but his breaths are shallow and he feels like he’s choking.
“Sirius, breathe,” Remus said. Sirius tried but the breath got caught in his throat. He shook his head. His hands don’t stop trembling and he can feel his heart beating so fast it feels like his heart is trembling too, vibrating in his chest. Remus’ whispers sound muffled but he can hear him telling him to breathe (he can’t, he can’t breathe, he’s going to choke), that everything is going to be okay (nothing is okay, everything is wrong).
“Can I touch you?” Remus asked. Sirius couldn’t say a word but he nodded.
“Sirius, listen to me,” Remus said gently, taking his hand. “Just breathe.”
“I–I can’t,” Sirius says and he can’t stop shaking, he can’t stop crying, “I can’t breathe, I can’t.”
“Yes, you can,” Remus says softly. “Sirius, look at me. Hey, look at me.” He puts a hand on Sirius’ knee. Sirius looks up.
“You can breathe,” Remus says and he sounds so certain Sirius almost believes him. “Here. Put your hand on my chest, here, okay?” Remus took Sirius’ hand and placed it on the left side of his chest, over his heart. Sirius inhaled sharply, that has nothing to do with the meltdown he’s having. He feels Remus’ heartbeat beneath his fingers. It’s fast. “Now breathe when I breathe okay?” Remus took a deep breath and so did Sirius, their chests rising and falling together.
“Now close your eyes,” Remus whispered, “close your eyes.” Sirius did. “Now keep breathing with me, okay?” They sat there like this, both of them breathing deeply, Sirius’ hand still on Remus’ chest; Remus’ hand lay on top of Sirius’ keeping it in place and keeping it from trembling.
When Sirius’ breaths had evened out, Remus removed his hand from Sirius’ and Sirius pulled his hand away from Remus’ chest. He opened his eyes.
“Thank you,” Sirius said to Remus. His eyes were still wet. So were his cheeks. He felt them heat from embarrassment.
“Sirius, love, please talk to me,” Remus said softly, tracing small circles on Sirius’ shoulder. “Please let me help you.” Sirius was silent for a minute. He wanted to tell Remus, he trusted Remus, especially after everything Remus had just done for him.
“They don’t want me to be their son,” he blurted out. He sat up and wiped his eyes but the tears kept coming. “God, this is so fucking stupid. I don’t even know why I’m crying about this, I know they don’t want me. I’ve known it for like five years. And I don’t fucking want them to be my parents either. I hate that whole twisted family. I left them, for fuck’s sake. And I’ve been trying to get burned off that stupid tapestry for years. What the fuck is wrong with me? And now I’ve ruined our first date. I’ve been waiting for this for more than a year and now I’ve gone and fucked it up.” Sirius buried his face in his hands. “What the fuck is wrong with me?”
“Nothing,” Remus said, putting his arm around Sirius and pulling him closer. “Nothing is wrong with you, Sirius. You are an incredible person and you deserve so much. You deserve so much love, Pads. And they might not want you but that is their own fucking loss. You don’t need them, Sirius, there are plenty of people who want you.”
“Yeah?” Sirius sniffed.
“Yeah,” Remus said. “I do. I want you. I want to be with you. And James wants you to be his brother. And Mr and Mrs Potter want you. And Peter and Lily and Marlene and Dorcas and Mary and Alice all want you too. We chose you, Sirius. All of us chose you. I chose you. And I’ll keep choosing you over and over again. Sirius, you are so wanted and you are so, so loved. Please don’t believe their lies. You are worth so much more than they will ever be.”
“Thank you, Remus,” Sirius said. “Really, thank you. And I’m sorry I ruined our first date.”
“You didn’t ruin anything,” Remus said, taking his hand.
“I fell asleep and then woke up and had a breakdown.”
“The falling asleep bit was cute,” Remus said. “Look what I managed to do in your hair.” Sirius reached a hand back and touched his hair.
“What?” he asked. “What is this?” He pulled out the two-way mirror he and James used to communicate during detention but as James wasn’t using it at the moment, it simply acted like a regular mirror.
“You… you braided my hair?” Sirius asked, looking up at Remus.
“Well, yeah,” Remus said shyly. “You’re not mad are you?”
“Mad? It’s gorgeous, Remus,” Sirius said. “Where did you learn to braid?”
“Lily taught me,” Remus said.
“Are these real flowers?” Sirius asked, looking at the different flowers in his hair.
“Uh, yes,” Remus said. “I just found them laying here around the floor so I added them to the braid. I, uh, I thought it looked nice.”
“It does,” Sirius said, turning his head in the mirror to see himself from all angles. “It’s beautiful.”
“You’re beautiful,” Remus said.
“Well obviously,” Sirius said, putting the mirror back in his pocket. “But, um… thank you.” Remus thought he noticed a faint blush bloom on Sirius’ face. He put a hand on Sirius’ neck, brushing his thumb against Sirius’ cheek
“I love you, you know,” he said. Sirius was taken aback, his heart skipping a few beats and his cheeks glowing.
“I–I love you too,” Sirius said.
“Are you gonna be okay?” Remus asked.
“Yeah,” Sirius said with a small smile. “As long as you’re here.”
“Oh darling, I’m not going anywhere,” Remus grinned.
“Darling? That’s new,” Sirius said. Remus blushed but before he could stutter out an apology, Sirius said, “I like it.”
“You do?”
“Yeah.”
“Alright then, darling,” Remus said. He leaned in towards Sirius and brushed his lips against Sirius’. He hovered above Sirius’ mouth for a moment, hesitant.
“I want you,” he murmured against Sirius’ mouth.
“You can have me,” Sirius murmured back. “You have me already.” He presses his lips against Remus’, kissing him firmly.
---------
“It’s getting late,” Remus said standing up. “We should probably head back.”
“Yeah, I suppose,” Sirius said. He stood up as well and took Remus’ hand. “Yeah?” he asked, lightly squeezing Remus’ hand.
“Yeah,” Remus smiled. They walked back into the more populated area of the village.
“Wanna stop at Honeydukes?” Sirius asked. “I’ll buy you chocolate.”
“You don’t have to—” Remus started.
“I know,” Sirius said. “But I want to. Consider it an apology for falling asleep on our date.” Remus hesitated.
“You’re going to do this no matter what I say, aren’t you?”
“Yep,” Sirius said cheerfully.
“Oh alright,” Remus sighed but he smiled, so the two entered the candy shop.
“Moony, look, dark chocolate frogs,” Sirius said. “I’m getting you some of these.”
“One is fine, Sirius,” Remus said.
“Then I’m also getting you a chocolate cauldron,” Sirius said.
“Or just the regular chocolate bars,” Remus said, “they’re cheaper.”
“Whatever you want, Moony,” Sirius said with a smile.
---------
They left Honeydukes with two Chocolate Frog, a classic Honeydukes Chocolate Bar, two Chocolate Wands, two Liquorice Wands, a Sugar Quill and some Acid Pops and continued in the direction of the castle.
“Boo!” Sirius whipped around and there was Marlene, standing behind him grinning broadly. “Where were you today? I’ve been wanting to irritate you all day and I couldn’t even find you.”
“All day?” Sirius looked at Dorcas. “Cas, it sounds like you have to step up your dating game if your girlfriend would rather irritate me all day.” Dorcas rolled their eyes and pointed a certain finger in Sirius’ direction.
“Oh shut up and stop twisting my words,” Marlene said, putting an arm around Dorcas. “Ignore him, I had a lovely time,” she added to Dorcas, kissing her.
“Me too,” Dorcas said, smiling.
“So where were you?” Marlene asked.
“I was, uh,” Sirius hesitated, locking eyes with Remus. Remus gave him a small nod. “I had a date.”
“A date? With who—” Marlene glanced between Sirius and Remus. “You two are dating?!”
“Yeah,” they said at the same time, smiling at each other.
“AND YOU DIDN’T TELL ME?!” Marlene yelled, punching Sirius in the arm. “You little bitch!”
“That’s great, you guys,” Dorcas said.
“Yeah, it is, I just can’t believe you didn’t tell me,” Marlene said, crossing her arms.
“You know, Marls, this may surprise you but the entire world doesn’t revolve around you,” Sirius said.
“What are you talking about, of course the world revolves around me,” Marlene said, tossing her hair away from her face. “I’m fabulous.”
“Don’t I know it,” Dorcas muttered under her breath. “So is this your first date?”
“Yeah,” Remus nodded.
“What did you guys do?” Marlene asked.
“We went to that hill past the end of the street and somebody fell asleep on my lap,” Remus said, smirking at Sirius.
“Oh my god, you didn’t,” Marlene said, laughing.
“Moony!” Sirius pouted.
“What?” Remus asked innocently.
“Ha!” Dorcas said. “You’ve got some nerve telling me to up my dating game when you literally fell asleep on your first date. I mean, damn, Sirius, that takes talent.”
“Did you braid his hair then?” Marlene asked.
“Yeah,” Remus said.
“It’s beautiful,” Marlene said, reaching out to touch the braid.
“No touching my hair,” Sirius said, “it’s too sacred.”
“You let Remus touch it,” Marlene said, crossing her arms.
“Yeah well, I let Remus touch a lot of things I don’t let you touch,” Sirius smirked, winking at Remus who turned red and elbowed him in the ribs.
“Oh god, please spare me the details,” Marlene said, wrinkling her nose while Dorcas made gagging noises. They entered the castle and started towards the common room when Lily caught up to them.
“Hey,” she said. “So how was your first date?”
“You knew?!” Marlene said. She whipped around to Sirius. “You told Lily and not me?”
“In my defence, Moony was the one who told Lily,” Sirius said.
“Who else knows?” Marlene asked.
“Just James,” Remus said. “Peter probably knows too but we haven’t said anything.”
“You told James and not Peter?” Dorcas asked.
“James walked in on us making out, what were we supposed to do?” Sirius said.
“And Lily?” Marlene asked.
“She guessed it,” Remus shrugged. “I wasn’t going to lie.”
“How did you know?” Dorcas asked Lily. She shrugged.
“I don’t know, they were being so obvious about it,” she said.
“Well, obviously we knew they liked each other,” Marlene said. “We just didn’t know that they knew it.”
“Wha— you knew?!” Sirius said.
“Please, you were terrible at hiding it,” Dorcas said. “Everybody knew.”
“Wait until I tell James you fell asleep on your first date with Remus,” Marlene teased.
“You wouldn’t,” Sirius said.
“Oh really?” Marlene said. She started running backwards down the hall in the direction of the common room. “Try and stop me!” she called.
“McKinnon if you tell him, I swear to god—” Sirius started running after her; Marlene turned around and picked up the pace.
---------
As Sirius and Marlene near the common room and spot James just outside the portrait hole, as Marlene yells to James the embarrassing events that transpired that day before he could go inside, as they both burst out laughing and Sirius pretends to be offended by it, it occurs to Sirius how lucky he is.
All three of them collapse onto the floor in a pile of giggles. They look back down the hall and see Remus, Dorcas and Lily coming towards them, Lily walking in the middle with her arms around the taller two before she gives up and lets her hands fall and they laugh.
“We are so fucking whipped,” Marlene says, looking between the two boys and their friends and partners across the hall, walking towards them.
“Yep,” James says.
“Absolutely,” Sirius says.
“Sirius, you dropped a flower,” James said, handing it to him.
“Thanks,” Sirius said. He pulled out his wand and cast a preservation spell on it. Then he put it back in his hair, this time tucked behind his ear. His eyes meet Remus’ across the hall and they share a smile. I’m so fucking lucky, he thinks. He’s dating the boy of his dreams, the boy he loves more than anything else in this world. He has friends who tease him and laugh at him and laugh with him. He has friends who love him and they never forget to remind him just how much. Sirius has never felt so loved, so appreciated, so at home. He’s never felt as safe as he does with these people. They won’t leave him. And he’s never going to leave them.

Study Buddies (A Halstead Brothers + Halstead Sister! Imagine)
A/N: I've had this idea for a while now. And, it's a shorter one, but I hope you enjoy it. Please remember to reblog and comment!
You sat at your desk taking a quiz for a class. Most of the answers you could find in your notes, but some you must've zoned out on because you couldn't figure out the answer. Maybe they were--
"Y/N," you were snapped out of your thoughts of where to find the answer by Jay knocking on your bedroom door and saying your name.
"Yeah?" you asked, turning your chair away from your desk.
"Can I come in?" he asked.
"Yeah," you answered.
He had what looked like a textbook in his hand, along with a cup of coffee and a water bottle. "Want some company?"
"Why?" you asked. He never asked you if you wanted company to study.
"Well, Hailey's gone."
Hailey was on a two-week girls trip to Mexico with Vanessa, Kim, the girls of 51, and Stevie. She had just left this morning and you didn't think Jay would get lonely this fast. But, he was whipped for that girl, so you guessed it was expected that he missed her so much.
"Aw, lonely already? You love her so much, it's cute."
Jay rolled his eyes. "Haha, very funny."
"You better hope she doesn't cheat on you while she's there."
"She wouldn't so that."
"I don't know." You smiled. "If I had the chance to meet a cute Mexican boy who would call me mami while we were having--"
"I wouldn't finish that sentence if I were you."
"God! Sex is natural, Jay! And you know I was just kidding...maybe."
"Okay, let's just drop the sex talk. It's not a conversation I want to be having with my little sister. At all."
"Okay, then why do you want to keep me company while studying?" you challenged.
"Because I'm studying for the sergeant's exam and figured we could study together. And you're always doing homework or going to school, so I figured having someone to do it with you might make you happy."
You smiled and nodded, grateful that you had such a thoughtful big brother.
"Can I sit here?" he asked, pointing to your bed that was actually made for once.
"Sure. But the only rule I have for this is that you need to be out of here by 11:00 because I want to read and then go to bed by midnight."
"Yes, ma'am," he joked.
He propped up your pillows and leaned against them and opened his textbook while you went back to taking your quiz...and trying to find the answer to the multiple-choice question.
"Hey, question," you started, and Jay looked up from where he was skimming the table of contents of the textbook. "What's heroin?"
"An illegal drug. And I swear to god, Y/N, if you're doing that--"
"Chill, I'm not! I'd never do that! Jesus, it's like you don't even know me," you joked. "I just need to know what kind of drug it is."
"Oh, heroin?" You nodded. "It's an opioid."
"Thank you.
"Wait, what are you doing?"
"Taking a quiz. But the prof said we can use our notes and stuff like that, so it's fine."
"And I count as notes, huh?"
"It's called using your resources." Then, you were about to click an answer, but you realized there was more to the question. "Shit."
"What?" Jay asked.
"All opioids are opiates, but not all opiates are opioids, right? Or do I have it backward?" you asked.
"Now that is a question for Will. I know what kind of drug it is, but now I have no idea what you're talking about. Sorry."
"Uh, fine," you grumbled. "Hopefully it's somewhere in my notes."
"Hopefully."
Then, the two of you fell into a comfortable silence while studying your respective subjects. And, luckily, you found the answer in your notebook. You had been right anyway.
But, you quickly realized something after just seeing Jay read the book without a pen, pencil, highlighter, or notebook in sight.
"You're not taking notes?" you asked.
"Nah, don't need to. I'll just read it and be fine," he answered.
"If you say so."
You knew that he wouldn't retain any information from just reading the textbook, so you knew he'd be in for a rude awakening tomorrow when he could only remember bits and pieces of what he read and had only a vague idea of where to find the information. At least your study habits were better than Jay's. Granted, he hadn't studied in years, probably since he'd taken the detective exam like ten years ago, but yours were still better. And Jay would soon realize he needed help retaining the information...like a lot of help.
***
"I need your help," Jay started when he walked into your room the next night.
"You don't know how to study, do you?" you asked and put your bookmark in your book.
"How'd you know?" he asked with a very confused look on his face.
"Because," you began, "yesterday you didn't take any notes and you didn't highlight anything in the book either. You're not gonna remember anything just by reading it once."
"But I can remember case notes."
"Yes, but you're talking about it with your team," you pointed out. "You're repeating the information so it gets into your head. You're bouncing ideas off Hailey and she's bouncing ideas off you."
"Okay, but how do I do that with a textbook?"
You sighed. No wonder Jay went straight to the military and not to college.
"Grab that chair over there and bring it over here."
"Why?" he asked.
"Because I'm gonna teach you how to study."
"This isn't gonna take like three hours, will it?"
"Didn't you just say you wanted my help?" you asked while cocking an eyebrow. He nodded. "Exactly. And no, it will not take three hours, maybe max of half an hour. I would not be doing this if it was gonna take three hours."
"Okay, teach me how to do this," he said as he sat down.
"First," you began and then rolled your desk chair over to your bookshelf. You grabbed a notebook that you had used for one of your classes, but barely took notes in so it was basically empty, and handed it to him. "You need a notebook." Then, you held out your pack of pens and highlighters to him. "Pick a highlighter and then pick that same color pen and a black pen."
He grabbed a blue one of each. "Okay, but why?"
"You need the highlighters to highlight important information, underline sub-headings, and highlight in your textbook. You need the colorful pen to write down vocab words, and you need the black pen to write down everything else and maybe scribble notes in the margins of the textbook."
"And this helps me how?"
"One, because when you write stuff down, it makes the info easier to remember...at least, for me it does. And two, using colors to underline subheadings and writing vocab words makes finding the specific stuff a hell of a lot easier. If I just wrote my stuff in pencil, I'd have no idea where to look. And, it just makes it prettier to look at."
Jay rolled his eyes. "I knew you liked it because it makes them look prettier."
"Shut up. And then, after you have all the information written down, you make a quizlet, and study that. Depending on how much stuff I have to study and how long I have, I'll study the quizlets from three or four days up to two weeks."
"What if I need to study this entire book for the written part and an oral interview?" Jay asked.
You pursed your lips and thought for a moment. "I'd say start studying the quizlets a month before the exam. And, don't try and cram the night before. If you don't know it the night before, you probably won't know it for the exam. Sleep's important for memory."
"Okay, wow, that's a lot of info. No wonder it takes you so long to do your homework," he chuckled.
"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. At least I know how to study and where to find all my notes. Now, do you want my desk? I can study on my bed tonight."
***
It had been a week since you had taught Jay how to actually study and to say he was doing well was an understatement. He was doing great. You had shown him your planner and how you blocked out your time to be able to fit in school, homework, work, and hobbies all into your schedule and he liked the structure of it. You were both type A...unlike Will, who liked to be very spontaneous.
It was nearing 11:00 and you needed to stay up late because you were working third shift this weekend (Not everyone can throw themselves into an 11:00 pm-7:00 am schedule like Will easily could and not everyone can survive off coffee like Jay usually can if needed, hence staying up until 4:00 am to change your sleep schedule for the weekend).
And, since Jay had a day off on Friday and you needed to stay up until the wee hours of the morning, the two of you had planned to study together again.
This time, though, the two of you had come up with a plan which included food and coffee...lots and lots of coffee.
Jay twisted the lid off a new bottle of cold brew since you had finished the open one about two hours ago.
"You want some?" he asked.
"Please. And put the--"
"I know. The peppermint mocha creamer. I know."
He poured some over ice for himself and then did the same for you, but this time added creamer.
"Here," he said and handed it to you.
"Thanks," you replied and then took a sip. "Perfect creamer to cold brew ratio."
"Am I brother of the year or what?" Jay joked.
"Tonight you are."
"Tonight you are," he mocked. "I'm brother of the year all the time, thank you very much."
"Yeah, yeah. You want music on? I can play a good playlist because it's way too quiet to be doing quizlets right now. I get bored easily when doing those."
"You mentioned that yesterday. And, as long as there's no lyrics because I'm trying to read, sure."
You put on a lo-fi playlist on Spotify and continued chipping away at your flashcards for an upcoming test while Jay continued highlighting in his sergeant's exam book using the blue highlighter you had been letting him borrow.
Three hours later, around 4:00 am, you decided to call it quits and went to bed. After all, you had just been reading a book for fun for two hours at that point because you couldn't focus on school anymore. Jay, on the other hand, decided to stay awake.
***
Will had no idea about how much Jay was actually studying.
There was a new coffee and donut shop that opened a few blocks away from the hospital and since Will only had a zoom conference for his little investigation into the vascom, he figured he could miss it and have donuts and coffee with his younger siblings.
First, he tried calling Jay because he knew he was an early riser and it was currently 10:30 in the morning, so he should be up. But, when he didn't answer after two calls, he knew something was up, so he tried calling you. And he tried calling you three times. But, there was no answer.
At this, Will became worried because he knew you didn't have classes today. Jay, well, Will just assumed he had gotten called into work, so he was mainly worried about how you hadn't answered your phone.
So, like the good overprotective, big brother he was, he made his way over to your house to figure out why neither you nor Jay were answering your phones.
***
"Jay. Jay," Will whispered as he shook his brother's shoulder. Jay was currently asleep at the kitchen table, using his sergeant's exam textbook as a pillow, his highlighter still in hand.
"Huh? What?" Jay asked as he quickly shot his head up from the book. "Will? Why are you here? It's like the middle of the night!"
"First of all, I came here because you and Y/N both weren't answering your phones. Second of all, it's 11 am." He paused. "What were you doing anyway?"
Jay rubbed the sleep from his eyes. "Me and Y/N had a study night."
"A study night? Why?"
"Sergeant's exam. She taught me how to study."
"Yeah, she told me that. But, why didn't you go to bed? And, where is Y/N?"
"She went to bed around four."
"And you? When did you fall asleep, Jay?"
Jay yawned. "Probably around seven."
"Jesus, man. You've only gotten four hours of sleep."
"I would've gotten more if you didn't come barging in here and wake me up! Why did you need to talk to me and Y/N anyway?"
"I wanted to see if you two wanted to come to this new coffee and donut shop because we both know how much Y/N loves those little cafes, but it looks like the both of you need your sleep. So I'll--"
"Did you say donuts?" you asked as you walked into the kitchen. Will's voice was loud enough to wake you up.
"I did. But I figured I should let you and Jay sleep since you both had really late nights it sounds like."
"And I have to work third shift tonight," you added.
"That too."
"But I want donuts," you whined.
Will sighed. "Tell you what, I'll drop some donuts off here tonight along with some fancy coffee from there before you have to work. Sound good?"
"Okay." Then, you filled up a water bottle and took a few sips. "I'm going back to bed. Goodnight. Or good morning. Whatever time we're calling this."
Will chuckled. "Goodnight. Sleep well."
Once you were out of the room, Jay stood up and made his way to the cupboard where he pulled out a bag of coffee.
"Um, no," Will said and rushed over to him. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Starting my day. What does it look like I'm doing?"
"Listen, I know you think you can function off four hours of sleep, but you really can't. So, go to bed, Jay."
Jay rolled his eyes. "I'm not a child, Will."
"I'm well aware of that. But, go to bed."
Jay grabbed the coffee pot.
But, Will had something else up his sleeve.
"I'll call Hailey."
"You wouldn't." Jay paused in the middle of grabbing a coffee filter.
"Try me," Will challenged. "Do you really want me to wreck her vacation by calling her and telling her that you're not sleeping?"
"Fine," Jay grumbled and put the bag of coffee back into the cupboard. "I'll go get some more sleep."
Will smirked because he knew he had won. "Good choice."
***
Three and a half months later
"Guys, I passed. Why are you making a big deal out of this?" Jay asked as you, Will, Hailey, and Jay all got out of the car and walked into Molly's.
"We gotta celebrate!" you exclaimed.
"Uh-huh," Jay laughed. "Gathered that much. But, don't you have midterms to study for?"
"I'm staying for one drink and then Will said he'd bring me home and come back here," you answered.
"So he's not drinking until he comes back after he drops you off at home?" Jay asked.
"Uh, she didn't say I'm not drinking," Will said. "I'll have like two, drop her off, and then come back." He turned to you. "You still good picking up the three of us if we're drunk off our asses, Y/N?"
"I guess," you grumbled. You didn't really want to have to leave the house at two in the morning to come pick them up, but you'd rather do that than have them scrambling to get a ride.
Look at you, acting like the older sibling.
"Good," Will said and then shot a wink at you. You, Hailey, Will, and Hermann had been planning this for weeks. And if Jay didn't pass, you would have just called it off. But, he got his results this morning and he passed, so it was still a go.
The four of you walked in and then everyone jumped out, just like you had planned.
"Surprise!"
Jay smiled and laughed. "No way."
"Yes way!" Adam yelled. "You really thought you'd be coming to Molly's for a normal celebration? Not a chance in hell."
"Yeah, brother!" Kevin agreed. "Now you're in charge. You get that cool ass office too."
"And now you have to take orders from me," Jay pointed out.
"Which I will not be listening to," Adam joked.
"Of course you won't." Jay turned to Kim. "Keep him in line?"
"Copy that, Sarge," she joked.
"Hey, what's Hailey gonna call you now?" Adam asked. "You aren't gonna make her call you sarge now are you? Or is that only in the--"
"Adam!" Kim yelled and smacked him across the chest. "Sorry about that," she apologized. "He's already a few drinks deep."
"That is number one on things I don't want to think about," you said.
"Yeah, Adam," Will agreed. "Little ears."
"Hey!" Hermann yelled over the noise. "I propose a toast! Not only is Jay a great guy and will make a great sergeant, but he did also help save Molly's all those years ago. So, give it up for Sergeant Halstead!"
Everyone clapped and cheered...and then everyone started chanting speech. It started with Adam...and then Will joined in...and then Kevin... and then Kelly... and then everyone started chanting it. So, Jay had no choice.
He had to make a speech.
"Okay, okay," Jay agreed. "I didn't have anything planned...because I didn't know this was happening, but I'll try my best." He cleared his throat. "First of all, thank you all for doing this. I'm genuinely surprised that you all pulled this together. I'd like to thank my team for helping me with cases, even though we don't agree sometimes, we make them and we try our best to keep this city safe. You're like my second family. I'd like to thank Hailey for always sticking by my side and being okay with me giving up date nights to study for the exam. I'd like to thank Will for making sure I was actually sleeping. Most of you don't know this, but he takes his big brother role very seriously." That got a laugh out of everyone. "But most of all, I'd like to thank my sister."
Your eyes widened. "Me?"
"Yes, you. C'mon up here, Short Stack."
"I hate when you call me that in public."
"I know you do. And that's why I do it." Everyone laughed again and you glared at Jay. "Okay, okay. Anyway, I'd like to thank Y/N because without her I wouldn't have passed this. She was the one who actually taught me how to study because it had been so long since I actually had to. Without her teaching me how to take notes and actually retain the information I was studying, I wouldn't have passed. So, thank you."
You smiled up at him with tears in your eyes. You didn't know this had meant so much to him; you just thought you were teaching him how to study.
A single tear rolled down your cheek.
"C'mere," Jay said and enveloped you in a hug while everyone aw'ed at the two of you.
"Aw, what the hell!" Hermann exclaimed after everyone had quieted down. "Free drinks for the new sergeant and all of the Halsteads...that includes you too, Hailey."
Needless to say, you didn't go home and study that night because you had too much to drink. And, you didn't even go home that night either because, when you saw the way Hailey and Jay were making out on Molly's Patio, you figured it was best to stay with Will for the night.

Miracle (Sirius x Fem!Muggle!Reader)
Summary: Sirius  was mysterious and a player or was he?
Warnings: Angst, player Sirius, weight mentioned from Marlene.
Masterlist: here
Tumblr media
I was new to the neighbourhood. I sighed and was nervously shifting my weight from one leg to the other. My parents told me the Potters had a son my age and now they wanted me to hang out with him, make friends. I knocked on the neighbours door. A young man opened the door.
"Hi. I haven't seen you around here." "No, I just moved here a few days ago. Returned from boarding school. My parents really wanted me to go outside and make friends over the summer. They've apparently met your parents so they suggested I'd come by. My name is Y/n." "Welcome in the neighbourhood, I'm James Potter."
His smirk made me blush a little. I looked to the ground and I saw something non-human run around. James must've noticed my look because he closed the door a bit more. I decided not to ask about it, for now.
"Anyway, I was wondering if you would like to go to the carnival with me. Me and my friends used to go all the time." "Today is a bit unfortunate timing, sorry, I'm helping my best friend out." "No worries. The invitation is still there. If you change your mind I'm the next house over."
I started to walk away a little bit bummed out.
"How about tomorrow? Same time. I can bring my friends too. I know you'll fit right in." "Sounds perfect."
I smiled and bit my bottom lip. James waved goodbye before closing the door. I walked home with a little skip in my step. I curled up my legs on the windowsill and looked at the Potter house. Something drew me to it. It was pouring a lot. Why had the weather suddenly gotten so bad? I sighed and read more of my book. I started imagining the scene in my head when I saw a young boy about my age knocking on James' door. I sat up as our eyes connected. The man was let inside the house. That night I went to bed questioning everything I believed. This felt almost magical. Is this what books describe as a meet cute. The next morning I walked down.
"Morning y/n." "Morning, mom." "I'll be out with James and some friends of him. I've got money and I'll be home before midnight." I smiled. "Do you want some more in case one of your friends doesn't have money? Better be safe and have some extra." "Mom that's not necessary." "Still I want you to be able to have fun. Take it sweetheart." "Thanks, mom. I'll repay you the rest."
I made myself breakfast and went upstairs to change into a cute outfit. I took my bag and left to James' house. The sooner we started at the carnival, the better. I wasn't the only one to arrive at James' place. A gorgeous redhead also arrived.
"Hi, I'm Lily." "Hi, I'm y/n." "Oh you're the one James told us about!" "Us?" "Oh you're going to love our group. The other girls will meet us there, they needed to grab some money." "So how do you all know James?" "We go to the same school."
We were having a lovely chat when the door swung open. This time it was the boy from yesterday. He was dressed differently. He went from formal wear to bad boy look. I preferred this look.
"Hey Sirius!" Lily smiled. "Hey Y/N, I see you've met my future wife." James joked from behind Sirius. "In your dreams, Potter." "You're my only dream, Evans."
Sirius and I looked into each other's eyes. The world felt like it was disappearing.
"Come on, Sirius, She's nice." "Where are my manners? Hello." "Hey."
James looked between us two.
"Sirius this is Y/N, my next-door neighbour," James started, "Y/N, this is Sirius. He is my best friend from school." "Enchanté."
Sirius placed a kiss on my knuckles and I blushed. James rolled his eyes.
"Come on, you two, much to see." "Nothing will be as beautiful as her." "You're a flatterer." "Please tell me I'm not that bad." James sighed. "No... You're much worse," Lily commented.
I tried my best not to laugh.
"Are you okay, Prongs, She burned you?" "Prongs? That's a special nickname." "We all sort of have one." "So who are you?" "Padfoot." "That's like a black dog isn't it?" "Yeah, how did you know that?" "I guess I picked it up somewhere. I really like that nickname."
Sirius smiled.
"I've made it!" A boy shouted. "Mooney!" Sirius smiled and hugged the boy. "I got the message." He sighed and held Sirius closer.
I just stood there awkwardly.
"Oh Remus, meet James' next- door neighbour, Y/N," Lily introduced. "It's nice to meet you, Remus." "Likewise."
I smiled. Lily hooked her arm in mine and pulled me to the fair, the boys trailing behind us.
"There are some girls I want you to meet." "There is more of you?" "I don't technically belong to that group. I’d go insane." "Fair enough." "James asked me out and I may or may not have agreed." "Oh you like him." "I do not!"
I laughed.
"Lily, over here!" A blonde shouted. "Girls! This is Y/n, she'll fit right in!" "Y/n this is Marlene, Dorcas, Mary and Peter." "Do you play quidditch?" Marlene asked. "No? What is quidditch?"
I saw James move behind me.
"Oh you're a muggle!" She cheered. "A what?" "It's local speech for a.... uh newcomer," "You guys are weird," I laughed, "I like that." "Come on, there is so much to explore."
We started to play some mini-games. I tried my luck with these new slot machines it was quite addictive. Meanwhile Sirius had caught a giant teddy bear.
"For you my princess." He smiled.
I blushed and accepted his gift. We all got along very well.
"Guys, want to go on the Ferris wheel?" "I'll pass." Sirius said. "Come on it'll be fun." "Being stuck in the air doesn't sound fun to me." "Please."
Sirius refused so I pulled Remus along. He really wanted to go on it once, but not alone.
"So Sirius." "Shut up, Remus." "I know you like him." "Is it that obvious?" "Do you want me to lie?" "Yes." "No it's absolutely subtle."
Remus and I were laughing. I saw Sirius look at us. I blew him a kiss. Sirius winked and went back to the rest of the group they were waiting for some food. The ride was over too soon and Remus and I walked ahead of Marlene and Dorcas back to the group.
"I don't like Y/n, she's muggle, it would never work out. I'm just looking for a fling anyway." "Padfoot." James cleared his throat and looked at me.
Sirius turned around. He was about to give me excuses, but I just ran away.
"Y/n, wait!" Sirius tried.
I stopped and looked at him. Tears threatened to spill.
"I-" "Forget it Sirius!" I shouted, "I'm just your next conquest, right?" "No. It's not like that." "I heard you. Loud and clearly. To think I actually wanted to get to know you... Urgh I am so stupid." "No you're not. I didn't mean a thing I said back there." "Forget it. I'm going home. Bye, Sirius."
I saw the girls run up to me. Lily took my hand and dragged me away. Dorcas pulled Marlene along before she could yell at Sirius. I invited the girls in.
"Oh hello, my dears." "Good afternoon madam." Lily smiled. "We're going to my room if that's okay." "Of course dear. If you or your friends want something to drink or eat I'll go grab something from the shops." "That won't be necessary, but thank you so much," Marlene smiled. "Are you sure, dear you could use a little more food." "Mom!" "Sorry my dear. I just want to make your new friends feel welcome." "Thank you."
I pulled them to my room. I threw the mess under my bed so it wasn't too bad. We flopped down on my bed and laughed.
"You had to see the look on his face when Marlene saw he made you cry." "Is he usually like this? A ladies man?" "You'd be surprised to know he's actually not. He looks like he can get every girl and he likes to flirt with them, but almost no one has slept with Sirius." "Why?" "I don't know. Sirius isn't an open guy." "Unlike James, right Lily?"
We laughed.
"I really like James, but he can be so arrogant. Not to mention a bully." "That was so many years ago. Snivellus, I mean Severus, deserved it too after he called you that." Marlene said. "What did he call you?" "Some racial slur. He was my friend and then said that."
I held Lily's hand. She smiled.
"I'm not one to give advise on this, but Sirius never gets the girl a gift. So maybe he was telling the truth." "Lily, I can't see him like that anymore. I don't want to be a conquest." "You do you, girl. Want to go again tomorrow? Our trip was cut short because of the boys." "I'd love that."
I pulled them into a group hug. They unfortunately had to go. I let them out and fell on my bed. I took the bear Sirius caught for me and hugged it tight. I couldn't stop thinking about him. The boy who looked broken, the boy who is a player in leather jackets and the man that is Sirius. I picked up my book and escaped to a different world. A soft tap against my window drew my attention.
I walked over to my window and saw a note that was folded like a bird. I looked at James' house and saw Remus, James and Sirius talk/yell at each other. I opened the note.
'Do you believe in miracles? -Sirius'
I sighed and placed the note on my bed. I changed into my nightwear, but when I came back the note had been replaced by a rose. I picked up the rose and held it close. I looked back to the room and saw Sirius sitting at the window gazing back at me. He waved. I gave him a soft smile before closing the curtains. The next morning I decided to go for a run. I usually never do it so this was promising to be extra crazy.
“Mom, I’m out for a run, I’ll be back in an hour.”
My voice echoed through the house as I pulled the door closed behind me. Sirius was seemingly walking away.
“Sirius?” “Hey.” “What are you doing here?” “Well I was going to apologize again and ask you to take a walk with me, but I got scared and was leaving.” “I’m going on a walk now. Want to join?” “You’re asking me along?”
I nodded and started walking. Sirius was frozen for a second, but jogged to his position next to me.
“I was an idiot-” “Yes.” “Thanks, but I want to make this right. Please let me be your friend. I can prove I’m not a horrible person.”
I nodded. Sirius’ face lit up and he pushed his hands into his pockets.
“I’m a little new to this.” “Talking to girls? I’ve heard differently”
Sirius scratched the back of his neck and shifted his weight from one leg to the other. He stopped me and looked around.
“Magic exists.” “What?” “Magical creatures and wands and spells you muggles love to read about it exists.” “Again with the word Muggle, what does it mean? What are you trying to tell me Sirius? Want me to like you fine I’ll do it, but no need to come up with children’s fantasies.” “It’s real. All our friends go to a school specifically for kids like us. Muggles are non magic users like you.”
I felt tears well up.
“No. Stop.” “I’m being honest here.” “There is no magic.”
Sirius pulled me behind a little house.
“Trust me.” “Amato Animo Animato Animagus.”
Sirius turned into a black dog. My reality shattered. I just stood there looking at him. Sirius turned back.
“Say something.” “No, that did not just happen.” “Believe me. It did.” “No...” “I was being an ass before cause I am a pureblood. All my family is, is wizards. I don’t know how to act around people who don’t use magic and I chickened out, before I got to know you and I have never regretted anything more in my life.”
I sighed and looked into his eyes.
“Okay I believe you.” “You do?” “I do.” “Great! I’ll still prove I’m actually wanting this, but we could go out and do things at some point.” “The fair is still open, want to go?” “I am broke though.” “No worries. I got extra, but If you mean it, you have to go on the ferris wheel.”
Sirius thought it for a second but then held out his hand. I smiled widely and shook it. We walked back and were meeting later that night. I was getting ready with the other girls and we were talking about partners and magic. We walked out the door and were greeted by the boys. James kissed Lily’s hand, whilst Sirius held out roses for me. He kept his promise and Sirius changed my world.

Bros and undateables react to MC who bakes in the middle of the night when stressed
I read this and my brain was like "so Beel's dream MC?". Of course, doing it out of stress isn't good, but Beel would definitely enjoy midnight sweets~
Anyway, will do, Nonnie! Please enjoy 😊
Also, like always, I'm splitting this into two parts: one for Brothers and the other Undateables for space reasons.
~
Lucifer:
Was heading to the kitchen to get himself more coffee to continue his paperwork.
When he saw the kitchen light on, he expected to catch Beel raiding the fridge.
Instead, he found MC at the oven, pulling out another set of cookies to add to the already monstrous pile of them on the counter.
"MC, what are you doing?"
The human jumped at his voice then gave an awkward laugh.
"Baking..."
"Yes, I have eyes, Love." He tells them. "What I mean is, why are you baking at 1am?"
"...I dunno."
The man sighed before approaching the human and turning off the oven.
"Regardless, I believe you've made enough cookies for one night. It's time for bed."
The human didn't move however.
"Darling?"
"I can't sleep..."
MC proceeds to explain how they get bad anxiety at night and how usually they can power through it, but with some school stressors on top of it, it became overwhelming and they just needed to do something to distract themselves.
The demon frowned.
"Love, you should have just came to me if you were having issues."
"But you're busy with your work--"
"That doesn't matter if you need me though."
The firstborn smoothed down their human's hair, which was messy.
"Now follow me to my room. I'll make sure you get some rest."
"But what about the cookies?"
"I'm sure Beel will wander in and take care of them for you."
Mammon:
Just got back from a party and was heading to the kitchen to grab a snack before heading up to his room
Only to find MC awake and... icing a cake?
"Oi! Human! What's with the cake?"
"I baked it."
"Well duh. But why?"
The human finished icing it, making the cake a colorful one with all of the brothers' colors.
"Because I wanted to." The human shrugged, not meeting his eyes. "Do you want a piece?"
"Uh.. sure." The demon mumbled.
He hopped onto the counter next to them as he watched them grab a plate and cut a piece for him.
MC handed the plate and a fork to him.
"It's red velvet." They said proudly.
"Yeah, yeah..." The man mumbled, taking a bite.
His eyebrows raised.
"Man, this is good!" His face went red at his words so he dialed back. "I mean, its okay... ya know."
MC gave a small smile, but it quickly fell into a heavier look.
"Hey, what's with that face??"
MC quietly hopped on the free counter next to him.
They didn't answered, just lightly kicked their feet as they stared at the floor.
"Oh c'mon, Babe, talk to me 'ere!"
MC sighed.
"I'm sorry. My anxiety is just bad tonight... I wanted to keep busy."
...oh.
The Avatar of Greed sat the plate down and put his arm around his Human.
"I don't get why you went to straight to baking..." The demon thought aloud. "But it doesn't matter. I'm home now, got that? You don't have to be anxious on your own..."
MC gave a soft smile.
"Thanks, Babe."
"Nothin' to thank me for. Now just let The Great Mammon take care of you!"
Leviathan:
This boy's sleep schedule is kinda fucked up
So it's not unusual for him to be up at 3am.
The Avatar of Envy ran out of pop in his room so he ventured out to the kitchen to get some more.
Which is how he found MC in the kitchen with like... seven cheesecakes???
"...What am I looking at?"
"Cheesecake."
"Well duh, normie." The demon rolled his eyes. "But why did you make cheesecake at like, 3am?"
Silence. Levi was suddenly worried that they hurt his Human's feelings and the look is their eyes definitely wasn't filled with the positivity that he's used to.
"Look..." He came up and hugged them close. "I just don't get it. Please don't be upset."
MC laid their head against their boyfriend's chest.
"It's fine." They mumbled. "I'm sorry... I just couldn't sleep so... I just came in to bake and this was the outcome."
"You should have just came to my room." He pulled back to look at them. "You could have been watching me play Rune Factory or something."
MC turned away from the demon, wrapping their arms around themselves.
"I'm not too clingy... right?"
"I... what?"
MC sighed.
"I didn't go to you because I was worried that you just wanted time to yourself and I'm always with you during the day..."
Levi just shook his head at every word they just said.
"Look... I always want my Henry with me." He blushed. "And yeah, I like my time away from other people, but that doesn't include you; just other normies."
"Are... are you sure?"
"I mean, yeah." He mumbled. "So... just don't worry about it, okay?"
Satan:
This man usually has a better sleep schedule but tonight he had stayed up reading just a bit too long.
He started heading to the kitchen to get some water and found MC with counter surfaces covered with cupcuakes while they looked really stressed and teary-eyed down at the one they were drawing on with icing.
"Kitten?"
MC jumped and quickly raised their hand to wipe their eyes.
Satan strode over and stopped them, looking down into their eyes.
"Kitten, what's wrong?" He wiped away a fallen tear.
They avoided their boyfriend's gaze.
"It's not working..." They mumbled.
"What are you talking about?"
"The cats aren't turning out right..." Their gaze falls to the dozen cupcakes with cat faces drawn on them in icing, but didn't meet the human's standards apparently.
The blonde raised an eyebrow. Surely they weren't in the kitchen crying over cupcakes because their designs weren't coming out well?
He sighed.
"Give me your hand." He took the human's hand with the bag of icing and brought it over a cupcake. He guided them with the design and helped them make a cleaner-looking cat.
"Thank you." MC sniffled.
Satan pressed a kiss to their forehead.
"Now what's the real issue, Little One?"
MC didn't say a word, just lightly sat the icing bag down and stared at the cupcakes.
Their boyfriend waited patiently and just rubbed circles on their hand with his thumb.
"I... I'm not gonna be sent away if I fail a class, right?"
"What are you talking about?"
MC shifted their gaze to the ground.
The blonde sighed once more and wrapped his arms around their waist.
"Talk to me, Kitten."
They sniffled.
"I'm failing my Hexes class." They mumbled. "This semester got so much harder and my grade took a nose dive... and the requirements to stay in the program say I gotta keep my grades in a certain range..."
"MC... you should have told me sooner." He tightened his embrace around them and set his chin on their shoulder.
"B-But you can't always help me--"
"Yes I can, Kitten. I'm always ready to help you when you need me."
"Satan..."
He kissed their cheek.
"And trust me when I say I would never let anyone take you away from me." He told them. "I'd fight the whole Devildom to keep you by my side."
He placed one last kiss on their temple.
"I'll help you study tomorrow. For now, let's clean up and get some rest."
Asmodeus:
Another one who just came home from a party and was heading towards his room when he heard a frustrated sigh come from the kitchen.
The demon poked his head inside and found MC staring down at... something. Whatever it was supposed to be, it just looked like charcoal now.
"Doll? What are you doing up?"
MC sighed.
"Baking." They eyed the black brick on the counter. "Or well... tried to anyway."
Asmo stepped inside and immediately went over to kiss his human.
They smiled a bit.
"Welcome home."
He smiled back and gave his Doll a big hug.
MC relaxed into the hug.
"My anxiety is just bad tonight for basically no reason." They explained, burying their face in the crook of his neck. "I was waiting for you to come home."
"Aww, Dolly." He pulled back and kissed their check. "You should have texted me! I would of been home sooner!"
"No, no, it fine." They pulled away. "Did you have fun?"
"Yep! Of course, I would have had even more fun if you came me, but I still made do~."
He gave them another kiss, this time on their nose.
"Now why don't we lay down now, hmm?"
MC smiled.
"Okay, thank you, Azzy."
Beelzebub:
Midnight kitchen raid. A usual nightly occurrence.
This time however, the Avatar of Gluttony's nose was greeted by a sweet smell as he approached the kitchen.
"Oh Beely!" The human displayed their plate full of fudge squares to him. "Please try them and tell me what you think."
Was he dreaming? The man felt like he was dreaming. Still, he didn't hesitate to accept the human's offer.
He made quick work of the fudge and smiled happily at his Muffin.
"Good?"
"Amazing." He stepped forward and hugged his human.
After a moment though, his smile fell.
"Wait...what are you doing up?"
Silence.
"Muffin?"
MC broke away and sat the now empty plate in the sink.
"I dunno. I just couldn't sleep." They explained. "I guess I just..."
The demon stared down at them, waiting patiently.
"Ugh..." MC let their face fall into his chest.
He stroked their hair quietly, brows furrowing in concern.
"I got a test on Friday and no matter how much I study for it, I can't stop stressing about it." They sighed.
"What class?"
"History..." They mumbled. "Why do we have to cover a whole century of events in one test?"
Beel patted their head and hugged their human close.
"Can I sleep with you tonight, Beely? I don't think I wanna go back to my room."
He kissed the top of their head.
"Of course, Muffin."
Belphegor:
Believe or not, its common for Sleepy Boy to be up late at night.
He sleeps so much during the day that he's usually awake starting from after his dinner nap to about 4 or 5 am.
Hence him being awake at 2am and heading towards MC's room, only to notice that their room was empty, but there was noise coming from the kitchen.
He found his Human sitting on the floor in front of the oven, staring into it.
"What are you doing?"
"Waiting for the brownies to bake." They said dully, not looking away from the oven.
"Are you baked?"
MC lightly hit his arm, but broke out into a small smile.
He smirked.
"Come on, I mean, who bakes brownies at 2am and just stares at them?"
Their smile fell, as did their gaze; they stared down at their bare feet.
Belphie frowned.
"Okay, what's the problem, Butthead?"
No response. He gave a small flick to their head.
"Ow..." The human rubbed their forehead, looking to the Avatar of Sloth as he stared expectantly at them.
They sighed.
"I've been getting nightmares lately... at least I think I have been."
The demon raised an eyebrow.
"You think you've had nightmares?"
"I... can't actually remember them." They mumbled. "All I know is that I'll have them and wake up crying with my heart pounding... but I can never remember why. Like, what the dream was about..."
"How long has this been going on?"
"About... two weeks I think?"
He flicked them on the forehead again.
"Ow!" They rubbed their forehead once more.
"Dummy. You are literally dating the demon whose an expert on sleep and stuff."
Silence. He sighed.
"Come here." He pulled them in for a hug. "Come to my room. I'll keep the nightmares away, got it?"

Fred Weasley - Lover
Tumblr media
“Why do I have to go this?” I asked again, wincing down at the small bottle of pink liquid in front of me.
“Because you owe us a favour for not ratting you out to Snape for cheating on your test last week.” George said. “And we need someone to test our Love Potion.”
“Now remember you’ll be obsessed with the next person you look at for twenty-four hours, so look at me.” Fred said.
I rolled my eyes. “It won’t kill me, will it?” I warily asked, bringing it to my nose and sniffing.
“Don’t worry, I was very careful.” George said. “Now bottoms up.”
I groaned and pinched my eyes closed, bringing to the rim of the bottle to my lips and quickly gulping the liquid. It tasted incredibly sweet, so much so it made my jaw twinge in pain. I pulled back and groaned, rubbing my jaw.
“You okay?” I heard Fred ask.
“Yeah I’m...” I opened my eyes and looked at him. “Fine.”
“Has it worked?” He asked.
“Yeah...” I whispered.
I’d never noticed how utterly handsome he was. His cheekbones were sculpted into his face, his nose strong, his jawline so sharp it could cut. His eyes were a deep blue, long hair sweeping in the most beautiful shade of red. He was tall, and built, presumably from all the Quidditch he played. Not only that but he was smart, and funny. Why hadn’t I noticed him before?
“Looks like you’ve got an admirer there.” George joked, pushing his brother lightly.
“You’re so good-looking.” I gasped, falling into Fred chest as I peered up at him. “And so funny and smart and kind.”
“Woah there.” Fred caught me, smiling down at me. “Easy Tiger.”
I giggled. “I never noticed you before, why?” I wondered aloud.
“No clue.” Fred replied.
“Come on, let’s get her to bed.” George said, gathering up my school books.
I practically hung off Fred’s arm on the way to the dormitory. “You smell so good.” I sighed, pressing my cheek against his shoulder.
“Jesus Georgie, how strong did you make this thing?” Fred asked.
George stifled a laugh. “I’ll dampen it a bit.”
I dreamily gazed up at Fred as he muttered the password to the Common Room, leading me inside. Everyone turned to look at us with an odd expression as Fred led me through the busy room. George broke off to go talk to some friends, whilst Fred took care of me.
Once inside my dorm, he sat me on the bed and stood before me. “I didn’t think it would work this well.”
I grabbed his hand. “Your hands are so big! God, you look so strong.” I complimented.
“What’s wrong with her?” Hermione asked, sitting up from her slouched position.
“Love Potion, George and I were testing it.” Fred chuckled down at me. “Tomorrow you won’t feel the same way.”
“But I love you!” I screeched, standing up and immediately wrapping my arms around him. “I could never fall out of love with you, Freddie!”
He laughed loudly and placed me back on the bed. “Keep an eye on her would you?” He said to Hermione who nodded along. “Night Y/N.”
“Night Freddie.” I sighed, smiling up at him brightly. I watched him leave before I collapsed onto the bed. “Hermione, I’m in love!”
She giggled a little. “It’s a Love Potion.”
I sat up quickly. “Is not! You know I had a huge crush on him before this.” I sighed.
I got ready for bed, babbling on about Fred and how wonderful he was. It was nearing midnight and all the girls were tucked away in bed, while my mind was still racing.
“Do you think he loves me back?” I asked out loud.
A chorus of groans filled the room. “Would you be quiet! You’ve been talking about him for hours.” Lavender said.
I sat up. “He’s so amazing though! Him and George have this great idea to open up a jokes shop and I really believe that he can make it and-“
“That’s it!” Hermione jumped out of bed, pulling the covers off my body. “We’re going to see Fred.”
I immediately jumped out. “You’re such a good friend, taking me to see the man I’m in love with!”
I wrapped my arm around my shoulder as Hermione quickly walked to the boys dorm. She banged loudly, for a long time.
“Fred Weasley, you get out here this instant!” She yelled.
Fred swung open the door with just pyjama bottoms on, rubbing his eyes and looking down at us. “It’s midnight, what the hell are you doing?”
Hermione stepped aside and Fred and I looked at one another. “Hi Freddie.” I dreamily sighed.
“She won’t shut up about you, so you’re going to deal with her for the night.” Hermione crossed her arms.
“She can’t sleep in here!” He defended.
“Not my problem.” Hermione grabbed my arm and pushed me into Fred’s chest, storming away.
“I guess we’re roomies for the night.” I winked.
“Oh god...” Fred sighed. “Stay here.”
I did as I was told and waited patiently for him to come back. He soon did, with a thick jumper and white trainers on, grabbing my hand.
“Where are we going?” I asked as I was tugged through the Common Room.
“The library,” he said. “There’s got to be something in there about breaking this damn spell.”
I followed after him, hand still clutched in mine. “I love you Fred, have I told you that? You’re just the best guy I’ve ever met and-“
Suddenly a hand came over my mouth and I was pushed against the wall, Fred craning his neck to peer behind the corner. Seconds later Feltch passed us, frowning before shrugging and going back in the direction he came.
Fred looked down at me. “Promise you’ll be quiet.” He whispered.
I nodded and Fred removed his hand. “I’d do anything for you, Fred.”
He rolled his eyes and tugged me behind him again. Once we successfully snuck into the library, Fred led us through the winding bookcases, picking up various books as we walked.
“Can I talk now?” I whispered.
“Quietly.” He whispered back, skimming over the pages.
“Do you love me back?” I asked, propping myself up on the side table next to Fred.
“Of course I do.” He mumbled, flicking to the next page.
“No, like are you in love with me.” I giggled.
He looked at me. “Y/N, you aren’t in love with me.” He said.
I frowned and pouted my lips. “Yes I am!” I squeaked.
“Shh!” He hissed.
I blushed. “I am in love with you, I was before this stupid potion.”
He stopped reading and snapped his eyes to me. “What?”
I snorted. “Don’t tell me you didn’t know, I have a huge crush on you!”
“You do?” I nodded. “Why?”
“Because you’re smart and funny, and handsome, and you smell amazing and you’re so strong and-“
“Forget I asked.” He said, turning back to the book.
I looked down at my hands. “You’d never go for a girl like me.” I muttered.
“Why would you say that?” He asked, grabbing another book and quickly reading.
I sighed heavily. “Because I’m awkward and you’re so cool. I’m not nearly as smart as you, I feel like you get bored when I speak to you. I’m not very pretty, not compared to some of the girls in your year.”
Fred had stopped reading by now and was intently watching me as I made my points. “Don’t say those things about yourself.” He murmured.
I shrugged. “It’s true though. I’m frumpy and my hair is always a mess, I try and do make up but somehow makes me look worse. I’m not terribly skinny and god I eat my feelings.”
“Hey,” he moved to stand in front of me and cupped my cheeks. “You’re the funniest, smartest, most beautiful girl I’ve ever laid eyes on.”
I beamed up at him. “Really?”
“Really.” He smiled. “How an earth could you think I’d never date you?”
“I never thought you saw me in that way.” I confessed.
“I never saw you in any other way, I thought it was you who wouldn’t be interested in me.” He chuckled lowly.
I sighed. “Oh Freddie...”
His eyes flicked down to my lips for a moment, his teeth sinking into his bottom lip. His hands still cupping my cheeks, he slowly moved forward. He pressed a kiss delicately against mine, pressing a little harder as a small whimper escaped my lips.
He pulled back. “Better?”
“Marry me.”
He laughed loudly, clamping a hand over his mouth once he realised we were meant to be hidden. “One day.” He winked. “I can’t find anything to break this spell...”
“I don’t want it broken.” I said.
He rolled his eyes and helped me off the desk. “Come on, Lover.”
Fred and I spent most of the night talking in the Common Room, learning new and wonderful things about each other that only made me fall harder for him. I spent the rest of the morning gushing to the girls about my night with Fred, all of them rolling their eyes and trying to get on with school work.
I sat next to Fred in the Great Hall, arm looped through his as I rest my head against his shoulder and listened to him talk to the other boys about the upcoming Quidditch match.
Wait...what was I doing? I slowly moved my arm from his and sat up, Fred curiously looking down at me.
“You okay?” He asked.
“Uh oh, I think it’s wearing off.” George said from across the table.
I looked at Fred. “Oh god...” I blushed as I remember everything I said last night.
“Hey there Lover.” He smirked, right eye dropping in a wink.
“Oh god!” I screeched as I scrambled off the bench and immediately started running away, ignoring the howls of laughter as I scurried off into my own personal hell.
Safe to say the Love Potion worked.

Lets go! Day 1: Let’s learn HOW the frick to study
So this I think is the most important thing to do and really it is insane that in the United States (which is where I am from by the way) students have no idea on how to freaking study. Honestly all of this gets me incredibly frustrated because with the internet we have the ability to share information and I’ll tell you that I am one of those people who have scavenged the internet and picked apart what I could find. Here’s another big problem: not everything someone does will work for you.
Also just the spread of dumb study information is pretty terrible. If I do counter anything I will leave a paper or my citation just because I believe in putting down sources and showing others how to research and why citing is freakin important.
Let’s get started: I’m going to summarize everything that will be in here for a second
1. Find your method of studying, find out everything. AND I MEAN EVERYTHING. You need to write down how you study (the different types of study people) but also the classes because people study sciences different than humanities.
2. Find out your most productive state. If this means it is you at 2 am in a suit and jacket than that means you need to leave procrastination station and be studying during that time. Now I am not totally okay with people studying in a suit for one it is uncomfortable, I think a jeans and a clean tshirt is just as good. If you can be productive in sweatpants or pjs then go for it. I know I am not and it doesn’t work when I dress for relaxation.
Okay, I’ll be going into more in depth of mainly the first one but a bit of the second.
To start off the bat, if you have time watch this lecture https://youtu.be/IlU-zDU6aQ0 by Marty Lobdell. You have probably heard the saying before and one thing that makes me so frustrated within the study community is that others use this statment without giving any real examples. I feel like Lobdell does this as well as he doesn’t describe note taking and I do believe before putting down a material, you have to take notes. (All he mentions is handwriting notes and I do believe in that. You cannot really type notes and expect to learn the material).
Another source I would suggest is the Vark Quiz (https://vark-learn.com/the-vark-questionnaire/) Learn what type you are (I’m a Kinesthetic!) and read what they give you. I’m not going to say you will perfectly match with your description but if you are starting from ground zero, this is an amazing place to see what might work for you instead of you having to come up with different technques on your own.
I get so annoyed when people use the pomodoro method as a way to study. It is not a way to study. It is a way to schedule your study time. Also, I don’t think you can do much in 25 minutes or maybe it is just me. Usually I work for an hour or 50 minutes and then take a ten minute break. All you need to do is find out what works for you.
Okay let’s get into classes, first there is an amazing youtuber named Nathan Wu who made this video (https://youtu.be/pdAt8JhBnMU and there is a part 2 but I’ll let you guys find it). He is a very good study youtuber that I do like to watch sometimes and I do appriciate that he is spreading correct information. I can give you guys an example of what worked for me in some of my classes (I also just wanna say I won’t be putting my grades on here nor anything really. I don’t feel comfortable being compared to others because I already have to deal with it at my own institution and peers. Please don’t compare yourself to others).
Chemistry (Wu also does include this subject in his video):
- Write notes and explanations for the love of god. Like please just write notes.
- Also apply those notes. If you are confused in one area ask someone for help whether that be your teacher or someone else.
-I would say to use flashcards, but I’m honestly a big quizlet user (I haven’t used Anki I’m a little weird and I get so annoyed when I use something that is popular. I sadly give off the “i’m not like other girls vibe”). When I use quizlet every time I get an answer wrong I write down the definition. I can explain this more because you can do this with notecards as well and probably Anki but I like the mobility of quizlet.
-Labs... I do like doing some labs. I miss my older ones from Honors Chemistry, I barely do good labs in AP Chemistry, but at the same time you have to do them. This could be for any science class because knowing how to apply your information is the best way to test your knowledge that isn’t practice questions (If you need labs look up a virtual simulation. While it isn’t the same thing they are usually free and if not you can find some on youtube).
- Practice problems (this more or less goes with your grading point instead of studying. While I do believe the overall goal in studying is that you understand and can apply the topic tests are so different in many things). As stated before I have taken Honors Chemistry, so I used test prep from my teacher and was able to form questions similar to how she asked them on the quiz. In AP Chemistry I’ve been able to use the online resources from other teachers and AP Classroom. I will say AP Chemistry it is much harder to write my own questions because AP Chemistry is just really hard in general, but finding FRQ practices I believe is one of the best ways you can work on it (Honestly it may be just me but doing FRQs or written essays for answers is so much better than multiple choice because this allows you to practice giving explanations and learning where your gap of knowledge is).
Another study technique I like to do is called the Feynmann technique. This is such a great way to apply knowledge without doing test prep because you need to essentially master your subject before test prep. This method includes creating a study plan for someone else, you need to teach someone else (or something else) what you’re learning and have them ask questions. Know I know this doesn’t really work well for some people including myself because I don’t really have others to talk to when I study but talk to yourself. (sometimes I talk to a ghost or a plushie in my room. I have little trinkets on my desk of which a tiger egg and a Chick Fil A cow plushie wearing a sunflower dress. Just try it, it might seem weird but you got to). If you can’t have others ask you questions say everything you can remember (and maybe do this on a google doc with the voice chat box open, I would say record yourself but I hate hearing my own recordings). Then, once you have finished look through your notes and see what you got correct and what you got wrong. If you did use a google docs then write what you meant to say like: “I said this... but this was incorrect because of this...”
For study schedule or something related to studying I would say watch these videos: https://youtu.be/-m2Ua5Y0mzc and https://youtu.be/OYuhkaOPKcM. Both are by youtubers who I do like to watch and follow what they do. I would say to look through Alicia’s youtube a bit more if you like electronic organization AND the true studyblr (girl can do beautiful calligraphy). I believe I align more with Keo Tsang, who studies later at night rather than earlier than the morning. Tsang does get more hours of sleep than me (haha). If you are in high school please don’t do what he does though. I try to go to bed by midnight because then I’ll get six hours of sleep, and I can sleep on the bus (it takes me an hour to get to school). I also have a free first period where I can sleep if I need to or catch up on work from last night if I didn’t do it. I do like to work when there is sunlight but also coming home from school and taking a detox or a break is so much better for my mental health. I know it will be different when in university but I’d just say this to any high school student, please do a mental detox. Don’t go on social media and scroll endlessly maybe listen to some music, read a book, take a walk/run, my sister would bake after a long stressful day and her food- while not the best- got her in a good mood.
I think this is all I’ll write today. I still need to do so much work myself haha but I am a big procrastinator and also I did have a break down a little while ago. Just know you are worth everything and in the end, every problem is going to have some type of solution even if there is no solution. Your life doesn’t need to be answered today or tomorrow so let’s work on becoming better students one step at a time :)

You loved Jungkook, but you were not ready to risk getting a UTI for him so you left him in bed while you went to clean yourself up. Throwing on one of Jungkook’s shirts (which was basically a dress on you since you were so much shorter than him), you sauntered away from his sink.
“I don’t even know how you’re still awake babe, I definitely thought I tired you out tonight,” you joked as you plopped down next to your boyfriend, stealing some of the covers that were covering his lower half.
Turning over to face you, he gazed adoringly at your smiley self beaming back at him.
“Why would I need to fall asleep when I’ve got the girl of my dreams in front of me?” crooned Jungkook as he put his hands on your waist to pull you closer to him
You groaned at his cheesiness and lightly slapped his chest (you secretly loved it, but there was no way that you were going to admit that anytime soon).
You and Jungkook both led such busy lives, so you truly appreciated the quiet moments like this (which were few and far between). It felt like there was nobody else in the world but the two of you as you looked into each other’s eyes, simply enjoying the other’s presence. You felt like you were a character in a Hallmark movie; it seemed like such a fantasy to be laying in bed across from the man of your dreams, as if none of this could be real.
Instinctively, you brushed your thumb lightly over the scar on Jungkook’s cheek, rubbing circles into the small mark.
“You never told me how you ended up with this scar, Koo,” you said softly as you focused on the scar.
Jungkook chuckled, sticking out his pinky in front of you before beginning to speak.
“I’ll tell you but you have to promise not to laugh too much ok?” he said with his doe eyes staring at you.
You twisted your pinky in his, kissing the top of his finger as a promise.
“I was 10 and my brother and I only had one computer to share. He wouldn’t let me play on the computer before him so we fought until he scratched me on the cheek,” he said bashfully, scratching the back of his neck,
You did promise Jungkook you wouldn’t laugh too much, but you were having a really hard time holding it in.
“Seriously babe? All that just to use a computer? Good to know you were just as computer obsessed then as you are now,” you jeered at him (you were only slightly jealous of how much time he spent playing Overwatch with his hyungs)
You ran a finger over the small diagonal of the scar again, subconsciously smiling after knowing the story behind it.
“It must have hurt so bad - it looks deep” you said now with a frown.
“Well when my mom saw me crying with a bloody cheek she did let me use the computer that day, and she gave me ice cream too - I’d call that an absolute win in my books,” exclaimed Jungkook with a prideful smile.
Placing a chaste kiss right over the scar, you glow to him.
“That’s my boy. I love it - it’s what makes you you, yknow”.
Jungkook grinned and pulled you closer into his chest, rolling over so he was on his back, your head directly over his beating heart.
“Okay, an eye for an eye babe. What’s this scar about?” he inquired as he pointed to the small slice on your kneecap, pulling your leg closer to him at the same time.
“When I was in grade 1 the most popular thing to do during lunch time was skipping rope on the playground, and I couldn’t master the hand eye coordination to do it so I kept tripping.”
It was now Jungkook’s turn to giggle a little.
“Awe, my babygirl couldn’t skip rope?” he said with his voice teetering on a fine line between being sweet and making fun of you.
“So one time I tripped and scraped my knee on the pavement trying to jump rope and that’s when I got this scar. I remember crying on the asphalt for what felt like hours before my best friend at the time, Jangmi, found me. My mom didn’t get me to stop crying that day until she gave me 4 popsicles,” you said with a smile, looking back fondly on the early memory.
The gears kept turning in Jungkook’s head.
“wait… you can jump rope now though Y/N… right?”
You were definitely glad that you had your head on Jungkook’s chest at that moment since you could bury your head even further in his chest so he wouldn’t be able to see your embarrassed expression.
“no” you whispered out meekly, unwilling to say it any louder.
Jungkook gasped and pulled your head away from his chest, holding it now in his hands.
“Babe! that’s like a life skill!!” exclaimed Jungkook with a concerned tone, shouting way louder than anyone should after midnight.
With the way Jungkook was acting, someone would’ve thought that you were telling him that you couldn’t drive or ride a bike (you actually couldn’t do one of those… but Jungkook didn’t need to know that yet).
In the midst of his rant about the importance of knowing how to jump rope , Jungkook proposed a plan. “Tomorrow you and I are heading to the gym and you are learning how to jump rope!”
You mewled at his plan. “Babe, people have tried - I just can’t do it. You’ll have to live with having a  girlfriend who just can’t jump rope.”
Jungkook puffed out his chest and put his best cocky voice on. “It’s your lucky day Y/N. You’ve got Busan Middle School’s jump rope champion as your boyfriend to teach you.”
“Actually, Jungkook, I think it’s your lucky day. Even though I might not be able to jump rope, I do have some other special talents,” you said as you smiled smugly.
Hauling your legs over his body, Jungkook brought your body so you were straddling him.
“Hmm, I think I might need a refresher babe. Care to show me?”
-♡-
With the moon as your only witness, you and Jungkook continued to share your favorite memories associated with all the little quirks on your bodies throughout the night.
You got to tell him all about the scar you got on your hamstring from your brief stint in competitive gymnastics, the scar on your ear from the first time you tried to curl your hair, and the scar on your back that you somehow obtained while baking a cake for your grandpa’s 85th birthday.
Despite it being the middle of the night, Jungkook still laughed and cried along with you as he heard your stories, loving the opportunity to get to know you better. Kissing each scar after each story, Jungkook smiled at how beautiful you appeared in the moonlight.
At the same time, you got to learn even more about Jungkook. Alongside the computer story, you learned that Jungkook had scars on his back from the time he swears he saw a shark while swimming in Busan (the rest of his family is 100% he just brushed up against a rock, but you know how stubborn Jungkook can be) and that he has scar on his left Achilles heel from the time he tried on his mom’s heels.
As the sun started to make an appearance in the sky again, your eyelids started to feel heavy. As you were about to drift off into dreamland, you heard Jungkook’s voice.
“you’re so beautiful - you know that right?”
Even in your sleepy haze, you still blushed at Jungkook’s sweet words.
“All these scars, all these things you try to cover up with makeup or hide, they all make you even more beautiful. I promise to never let you forget how beautiful you are to me Y/N,” confessed Jungkook as he ran his fingers softly through your hair.
The last thing you felt that night before you fell asleep was Jungkook placing a sweet kiss on your forehead.
You could only hope that Jungkook was as good at teaching people how to jump rope as he was at being an amazing boyfriend.

The Truth Is Out ~t.k.~
taiga kagami x fem!reader
warnings: mainly fluff. v small smut scene that mainly just leads into it
synopisis: the story of how kagami’s team and your cousin, kise, find out about the relationship.
a/n: this is long. it WAS purely self indulgent so that’s another reason why it’s long but hope you enjoy :)
Tumblr media
“Is this all the groceries we need for dinner? Do you have everything else already?” Riko asks.
Before Kagami could answer, Hyuga tagged another question along. “Do you live here by yourself?”
As he unlocked the door, he responded, “At the moment, my girlfriend is staying here, too.”
The team’s eyes widened and exclaimed, “You have a girlfriend?”
The door swings open to reveal you in the kitchen, making dinner. “Hi, Taiga’s teammates! It’s really nice to meet you guys!”
“Guys, this is my girlfriend, Y/N. She goes to Kaijou. Y/N, this is the team.”
He points at each member, telling you their names as they all looked at you with wide eyes, muttering a hello back as they walked in and Kagami walked over to you with the groceries you needed to finish up dinner.
“Don’t be shy! Make yourselves at home,” you encouraged them, grabbing the bags from Kagami. You give him a quick kiss. “Thank you. How was the game?”
He leaned against the counter. “It was really good. I wish you could have been there.”
You rolled your eyes, “My game was good, too, Taiga. Thanks for asking.”
“You still play basketball?” A small voice asked.
You looked around, eyes settling on the boy slightly shorter than you that stood on the other side of the counter. You jump back, slightly startled about how you didn’t notice him standing there.
“Kuroko! How can you still do that?” you exclaim.
“You guys know each other?” the team questioned.
You both nod as Kuroko explained, “She’s Kise’s cousin. She’s older by a few months, though.”
“Adopted cousin technically,” you add.
It seemed everyone's eyes were on you since they were intrigued about the insight into who you were and Kagami’s personal life. Kagami seems to notice as his cheeks begin to redden and he rubs the back of his neck.
“Guys, please stop staring. You’re going to scare her.”
You scoff, hitting him with a towel. “I’m not that easily frightened. Plus, if you’re going to be in my kitchen, you better be helping me cook.”
He muttered something under his breath as he walked past you to grab an apron. You give a triumphant smile, focusing your attention back on the boys and Riko in front of you.
“I quit basketball at the beginning of the third year. I play volleyball now.”
“Why?”
“I had more fun with volleyball. It came a lot more natural for me. Kagami makes me help him with basketball, though.”
Kagami shakes his head, glancing at you from the pot he’s stirring. “You offer because you know basketball is better for expanding your agility.”
“How’d you two meet?” Kiyoshi chimed in.
Kagami’s eyes shot to you, knowing the mischievous smirk that was plastered on your face as you chopped up the vegetables.
“I kicked his ass.”
“She did not!” Kagami tried to defend himself as everyone egged you on to continue.
“When he first moved back to Japan, we went to the same middle school. At that time, I’d recently joined the volleyball team.. He was beating everyone on our school team, making all of them mad and frustrated. Kagami, here, got a little bit of a superiority complex, so I challenged him to a game. His cocky ass thought it’d be easy since I was on the volleyball team so he played around and let me score two points. Before he realized it, I won 5-0. He was shocked and wanted a rematch, but I refused.”
Everyone’s jaws dropped. “You… beat Kagami?”
You look up with a questioning look. “Am I not supposed to? Y’all are talking like this man is a legend…”
Kagami tosses a towel at the back of your head. “Just because you beat me in a game the other day doesn’t mean you’re better than me. I have more wins overall.”
“By one game!” you exclaim.
“Now, I have to see you play. I don’t mean this the wrong way, but you don’t look like the type to be on the same skill level as Kagami,” Riko politely says.
You shrug, “I’m not offended or anything. I grew up playing with my brothers and cousins, and volleyball has helped with my jumping. When it comes to court awareness and IQ, I have Kagami beat. Skill set wise, he’s way past my expertise.”
“You guys get two more questions, then I’m duct taping her mouth closed.”
“She can’t eat if you do that,” Kuroko firmly states.
You point at him, “Kuroko, I’ve missed teaming up with you.”
Kagami huffs, “I can’t win if the two of you team up.”
“How did you two get together?” Hyuga questions.
“Taiga couldn’t take defeat, so we ended up playing one-on-one every day that I didn’t have volleyball. He didn’t know many people, so we hung out a lot during class and after school. Tomorrow will be our one year anniversary. He won’t tell me what he has planned, though.”
The team awed as they looked between the two of you. It was extremely apparent that Kagami was blushing from how his ears were tinted red.
“You’ll know when it’s time,” he said as you turned around and dumped the vegetables in the pot.
“I’m going to put on a shirt really quick,” you inform him, “I started cooking as soon as I got your text since I figured you guys would be starving.”
He nodded, watching you walk off and disappear down the hallway.
“Kagami, I like her. You better not lose her,” Izuki notes.
“I don’t plan on it.” He smiles to himself as he changes the topic, “Now, let’s talk about anything other than my love life.”
The boys easily fell into their own conversations. When you walk back out, you get pulled into Izuki’s conversation where he just wouldn’t stop telling puns, but you found it extremely entertaining.
You help Kagami sit the food out on the table. Before you could fully sit down, Kagami pulled you into his lap and lazily wrapped an arm around your waist. This caught you by surprise because he usually wasn’t this clingy when people were around.
“You feeling okay?” you softly ask as he makes his plate, putting enough on it for you, too.
He nods with a soft smile. “I just want to hold you.”
You both eat off of his plate, joining in on the casual conversations around you.
Later that night, all of his teammates ended up falling asleep in various places in the living room.
“Don’t tell me you’re actually tired,” Kagami whines, tossing his shirt and pants in the hamper as he makes his way to the bed.
You yawn, “It’s midnight and you’re not tired?”
“It’s midnight, meaning that we should bring in our one year anniversary the right way,” he smirks, dipping down to kiss you while you sit on the edge of the bed.
He deepens the kiss, guiding you down into the bed with a hand on the small of your back.
His other hand finds its way underneath your shit and becomes a cool contrast in your hot skin.
“Taiga,” you whined as he began to kiss down your neck. “Your entire team is here. They’ll hear us.”
“That just means you have to be quiet, baby. Let me take care of you tonight,” he softly requests as his fingers play with the hem of your shorts.
“Taiga, you are insatiable.”
He hums, standing up as he pulls off your shorts and tosses them.
He raises an eyebrow and looks at you with a triumphant smile.  “No panties? Y/N, I think you wanted this to happen.”
“Shut up.” You try to kick him, but he easily catches your leg and presses a kiss to your ankle.
“I promise I’ll take good care of you, princess.”
The next morning, you wake up around 7 to rustling in the living room. Kagami had his arm tightly wrapped around your abdomen, so you had to pry it off with all your might.
As soon as you got out the bed, you heard a soft whine from him as he reached for you. “Where are you going?” he groans, “Come back to bed.”
“Your teammates are waking up. I figured I’ll offer some breakfast before they leave.”
He opens his eyes and looks at you, eyes narrowing when he noticed that you weren’t standing normally.
“Are you still sore?”
You shift your weight, wincing a bit. It was nothing too noticeable but Kagami knew you too well. “It’s not terrible. It’d just been a while.”
He rolled over to get out of bed as he requested, ”Sit back down for a second.”
You plop back onto the bed, watching him grab one of his shirts and toss it to you.
As you put in each of those items, he found a pair of sweatpants and walked over to put them on you. You lift your legs up, watching him slip the pants up your legs.
You stand up so that he can get them onto your waist and watch him tie the string so they wouldn’t fall down.
He gives you a quick kiss as he stands up, noticing the grin on your face. “What?” he asks, grabbing a pair of sweatpants for himself.
“I guess chivalry isn’t dead,” you tease.
He rolls his eyes, “I guess you can walk to the kitchen yourself, then.”
You pout, reaching your arms out to him. “Don’t be mean.”
He squats down in front of you, letting you wrap your arms around his neck as he holds your thighs.
He walks into the living area and you beam, “Good morning guys!”
“May I ask why you’re on his back, Y/N?” Kuroko questions.
“I’m just feeling lazy,” you shrug. What you said wasn’t a lie. You were feeling lazy, but that wasn’t the reason you were currently on Kagami. “Would you guys like breakfast?” you offered.
Riko shook her head with a soft smile, “We’re all about to head home, but thank you.”
Hyuga chimed in, “Dinner was amazing. I hope we get to see you again.”
You smiled, “I’ll actually be at the next game!”
They all cheered as they piled out of the penthouse, leaving you and Kagami by yourselves.
“Alright, princess. Now that it’s just me and you.” He sits you on the kitchen counter and turns around to look at you.
“Happy anniversary, Taiga,” you softly whisper, bring a hand up to his cheek as you lean in and give him a kiss.
“Do you want your gift now or later?”
You hit his arm. “I told you not to get me anything, you stubborn ass!”
He laughs, “I know you got me something, though. Even though we promised not to buy anything.”
You became quiet because you knew he was right as he gave you a triumphant smirk.
“Well, I saw it and couldn’t not get it!” you tried to argue.
“I know you too well. Wait here.”
He walks back to his bedroom, coming back after a few minutes with a small bag.
He hands it to you. “I’ve been dying to give this to you for months.”
Your eyes widened, “You actually held back for once in your life?”
“Shut up before I take it back.”
You shake your head, opening the bag to first see a necklace with a key on it. The key was red and had his initials engraved on it.
“The key to my heart,” he softly spoke.
You look at him to see how gentle his eyes have become.
Taiga has always had a more vulnerable side. He didn’t let it out much even though you’d been together this long. It took a lot for him to let himself fully relax and put down his walls around people since he’s always been seen as some sort of monster because of his dedication and skills with basketball.
You were the first person he connected with once he got back to Japan, so having this kind of relationship with you always made him weary. He didn’t want to lose the only person he connected with so a lot of the things he did were over thought for weeks.
“I know that I don’t say how much I love and appreciate you that often and because of our schedules, it’s been a lot less recently. Y/N, you know how bad I am at this thing. We’ve been learning how to do this together, and I don’t want to fuck up and lose you. I really do love you. You’re the best person to ever enter my life.”
“Taiga, I love you so much. Can you put it on me?”
He nods, taking the necklace from you. You lean forward so he could clasp it around your neck.
You hold the key in your hand as you lean back with a small smile. “I’m never taking it off.” You think of your gift, sitting in the bottom of his closet in the box and pout, “Your gift is so much better than mine.”
He shakes his head, “I’ll love anything that you get me.”
You playfully push him, “I could go get it if you weren’t in my way.”
“Just tell me where it is, and I’ll get it. You’re staying off of your feet today. You always take care of me, so I’m going to take care of you today.”
“The bottom right of the closet. The thin black box and the white box underneath it.”
He rushes off once again. You laugh, grabbing your phone to answer a few text messages from your teammates.
He walks back in with the biggest grin on his face as he reads the label of the black box. “Is this what I think it is?”
He sits the boxes down on the counters, attempting to open the black box but you snatch it away from him.
“This one is last, you fiend.”
He laughed, opening the white box to see a Chicago Bulls jersey customized with his name on it. “Baby, this is amazing!” he beamed, trying it on almost immediately. He spins around to give you a good look of it on him as he asks, “How does it look?”
“It looks like I’m dating a really hot NBA star.”
He gives you a quick kiss, mumbling a thank you against your lips.
“Now,” you hand him the black box that he was a lot more excited about, “you can open this.”
He practically rips the box apart in excitement, making the wallet size picture fall onto the ground. He bends down to pick it up, eyes widening at the sight of you in a lingerie set he’d never seen before.
He looks between you, the picture, and the empty box and asks, “Where is it? I need to see it on you.”
You laugh, pointing at the picture as you swing your legs, “You have seen me in it.”
He pouts, “You know what I mean.”
Before you could answer, your phone buzzed with a text from Kise. It read: Tell your boyfriend that I will kill him if he ever hurts you! He’s taking you away from me :( #worstcousinever
Next message: also, how am i supposed to be your favorite cousin if you won’t even tell me WHO it is or show me a picture -_-
Next message: YOUR PARENTS KNOW AND NOT ME?! i'm telling your brothers.
You look up at Kagami with pleading eyes. He sighed, knowing what you were asking without any words.
“We’ll see him tomorrow at the tournament. I’d rather tell him to his face. Plus, I don’t need your brothers showing up to kill me.”
You nod, sending him a quick text saying:  I only didn’t tell you because you’re 100 percent going to steal him away. He’s still playing in the basketball tournament tomorrow, so you’ll meet him then.
You sit your phone down, turning the ringer on silent as you refocus your attention on Kagami.
“Impress me tomorrow during the games, and I’ll wear it. If you don’t, you’ll have to wait until Christmas.”
~~
The next day, you left Kagami’s apartment to hang out with Kise before his game since he wouldn’t stop complaining about never seeing you anymore unless there was school.
“Y/N-icchi! I’ve missed you so much!” Kise exclaimed as you walked up to him.
His team was shaking their heads at him, giving you a small wave since they’d seen you around quite a bit.
“Where’s that boyfriend of yours?” he questions as you both start walking into the stadium to watch some of the games.
“He’s scouting with his team, but he’ll drop by to see us before they warm up.”
Kise nods, “Who does he play for?”
“Not telling.”
“Do I already know him?”
“Not telling.”
“Come on,” he whines, “Give me something to work with here.”
“He’s taller than you,” you say blankly, “Now, shut up and watch the game.”
You took your bag off and sat it down as Kise reluctantly did the same as he muttered, “You’re so mean, Y/N-icchi.”
45 minutes later, you heard your name being called from behind you as Kagami jogged down the stairs.
“Do you have your phone on silent? I’ve been calling you like crazy!”
You pulled your phone out of your pocket, noticing five missed calls from him and six from your mom. “My mom is going to murder me!”
“No, she’s not,” he laughed, squatting down to get out of the way of people watching the game as he continued, “She’s here. She wanted to see where you were sitting. She said that you told her about my games today and decided to come earlier to see me play before Kise did.”
As soon as he said Kise’s name, the life drained out of both of your faces.
“So you’re the boyfriend,” Kise leaned forward, trying to be intimidating.
“Kise, be nice.”
“You’re dating one of my rivals, Y/N-icchi! That’s so low.”
Intimidation factor: gone.
You rolled your eyes, “We were dating before you even knew he existed!”
“You’ve only been dating for like two months!”
“Kise, it’s been a year!” you hissed back.
Kagami watched the two of you bicker in amusement.
Kuroko’s voice brought the three of you back to reality. “Kagami! It’s time to head to the court.”
“Right,” he nodded, looking at you.
“Good luck,” you smile.
“I don’t need luck. You’re here.” He gives you a quick kiss.
Kise fake gags and you elbow him in the side as Kagami walks off.
“Oi! Kagamicchi!” Kise said, returning to a threatening state. “If you hurt her, I swear to make your life hell. You don’t know much about her brothers but they are twice my size and ten times scarier, so make wise decisions.”
Kagami's eyes widened as he nodded and rushed off to meet the rest of his team.
“Also, I’m glad you finally told me after I’ve had to act clueless for months. You never come to my practice games, but you show up at our one against Seirin. Then, somehow Kagami and you run into each other outside before his team leaves. Learn to keep better secrets.”

Twitches & Stitches - Peter Parker
You are a worrywart and along with other problems in your life, Peter being Spider-Man doesn’t really help to keep you calm. One night when he gets hurt, your own body tells him you're stressed before you do.
Warnings: some curse words; blood and wounds
Word Count: 3.2k+
--------------------------------------------------
“Holy shit, Peter!” you exclaimed when you saw the battered and bruised boy through your window in the middle of the night. If you were not expecting him, the sight would’ve really scared you though seeing him in the state he was in wasn’t exactly calming. “Why are you here?”
He needed a hospital with a real doctor, not you with your Spider-Man band-aids and your little first aid kit. The left side of his abdomen was grazed with some kind of burn and his right thigh took a larger hit, looking similar to his side but much worse. Blood dripped from his nose, his busted lip, and the cut on his upper cheek near his eye. His eyes were clearly red and puffy, one of them starting to form a bruise around the socket. Scrapes, scratches, and small cuts littered his body everywhere else. You knew he was going to be sore and in pain for a little while even given his rapid healing abilities. As you ran to get a towel from the other side of your room, he held his wounded side with one hand and frantically pushed his sweaty curls back with the other.
“You always help clean me up. I thought you liked to do it. I can get May to help if you don’t want to right n-”
“No Pete, I do like that you come to me for help but this…” you trailed off as your finger pointed to the large cut on the side of his face before it faltered down towards his side and leg. “That needs stitches and extensive medical care. I don’t know how to do that. We need to get you to a hospital.”
“Actually, can you take me to the compound? Banner can help me there,” Peter asked when you pulled on your jacket and shoes and looped an arm around his waist to hold him up while he held the towel you got for him to his injured leg.
“Yeah, come on.” So, you got him into your car and began the drive upstate. It wasn’t too long especially since you were going a little over the speed limit—your boyfriend was bleeding so of course most laws were thrown out the window to get him some help—but a hospital would have been much closer. You understood why he wanted to go here: no one questioning how this happened, no coming up with a story to tell, people he was familiar with and comfortable around, so you took him.
“Y/n, calm down. It’ll be fine,” Peter whispered when his suited hand came to rest on your hand that you had been tapping anxiously against the steering wheel. You had not realized you were doing it, but you were scared for Peter. Of course, he was a superhuman with rapid healing abilities and super strength, but he looked awful and your mind began to wander to the worst. What if he did not make it back one night? What if he was kidnapped or tortured? What if he died? What would you do? You wanted to protect him but how could you when you were a measly human, no special abilities, just a big heart.
“I know. I just worry about you is all,” you muttered when you saw the compound come into view, the lush greenery of the tall trees behind it and the starry night sky about it appearing so beautiful.
“You’ve got nothing to worry about, sweetheart,” he reminded you before pecking your cheek. “I always come out okay.”
As much as you wanted to protest and explain that he might not always be fine and that his powers didn’t make him completely invincible, you pushed it down and pulled in front of the compound. You turned off the ignition and ran around to his side to help him out and walked him into the building.
“What’d you get into now Peter?” Dr. Bruce Banner inquired when you both walked in, taking in the boy’s limp and bloodied body.
“Some guys with alien tech. It’s different than the Chitauri stuff. It’s much more advanced,” he explained while you two followed Banner to an examination room. You helped him to get up on the bed—though he probably didn’t need your assistance—but it was the thought and the care that you put in that made him feel better.
While they discussed what happened as Bruce stitched him up, you hung back a bit and took in the room. Every room in the compound fascinated you. Each so simple yet so intricate, so sophisticated and sleek. Most of the rooms were white especially the exam rooms of the medical wing. Everything was just so crisp and you loved to look around at it all.
Then your eyes landed on the boy you fell in love with who was smiling up at Bruce Banner who had cracked a joke you did not hear. Peter Parker. Did you know you were signing up to be Spider-Man’s girlfriend when you started dating him? No, but you loved all of him, even the parts that scared you.
It wasn’t that him being Spider-Man scared you. You couldn’t think of anyone better to take this huge responsibility on and take it on as beautifully as he did too. What terrified you were the possibilities that the job could entail. Just tonight he had a run-in with some scumbags with alien technology and this obviously was not the first time this had happened. After what occurred with Liz’s dad, you hoped this would go smoother or maybe he could get more avengers to help him this time. You couldn’t handle another building being dropped on him like it was nothing or even something worse. But now there was more of this unknown tech and it was more advanced? With his stubborn self, he’d go after them as soon as possible and it’d probably end up worse than last time. You just could not handle that. You couldn’t handle losing him.
“So how long has your eye been twitching?” Bruce asked out loud, not directed at anyone in particular but Peter assumed it was for him as did you.
“My eye hasn’t been twitching, sir, unless I can’t feel it,” he told him in a confused tone. Banner chuckled a bit before turning towards you.
“I meant you. You’ve noticed that right?” You did not know whether to nod or shake your head. Had you noticed it? Yes, but were you also too busy to care? Also, yes.
“I mean a little, yeah. I didn’t think it was a big deal though and that it’d go away soon. I’m okay, right?” You asked beginning to get a little frantic, but he was quick to reassure you.
“Yeah, don’t worry too much about it. We don’t need another thing to stress you out,” he commented, and by your tilted head and furrowed brow, he could see you didn’t know what he meant. “Eye twitching commonly correlates to stress and fatigue. Would you say that’s true?”
Peter’s wide and concerned eyes met yours. He didn’t know of anything that would be stressing you and he figured you got enough sleep. You handled everything so well so he had no clue that you could be stressed or tired.
“I mean yeah maybe. I could see it,” you answered the scientist who finished up what he needed to with Peter.
“Okay Parker, you’re all good and as for you,” he stopped and turned to face you, “Just relax and get some rest. Nothing bad will happen but it’s clear you need a break.” You nodded at him when he exited the door and as soon as he left, Peter hopped off the exam bed and walked over to you.
“You never told me anything about being stressed or worn out. Are you okay?” he questioned, his hands cupping your face as his eyes danced between your own.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Now let’s go back before my mom freaks out when she sees I’m gone,” you urged but Peter’s hand gripping your wrist stopped you.
“Text her and tell her you’re staying with me. Let’s go to my room here so you can get as much sleep as you need and then we can spend the whole day here tomorrow just chilling, okay?” he told you while still cradling your face.
“Okay well we need to move my car from out front to the garage,” you reminded him, and he grabbed your keys from your back pocket before you could.
“I’ll do that. You head on up to my room and I’ll meet you there.” So, you did as you were told. You went to Peter’s room, took off your shoes and jacket, and slipped under the blankets, the soft scent of him filling your nose.
Had you really been that stressed and exhausted that your eye was starting to twitch? Yeah, you could not fall asleep until you knew Peter was okay after patrolling, and sometimes you didn’t get that confirmation until midnight or later. Yeah, your mom had to work more so she could provide for you both and she was too tired from working to do anything, so you had to take care of the both of you. Yeah, school was getting a little more intense as the semester progressed and being a sophomore at a school for genius teenagers came with a heftier workload. But you were handling it. You always handled what life had to throw at you and you handled it with ease from the outside looking in.
“Okay, your car has been moved,” he announced when he slipped into his room and placed your keys on the desk that was placed near the door. He pressed the spider emblem in the center of his chest causing the suit to expand and loosen off his body before it fell to the floor. That left him in his boxers which was exactly what he wore to bed, so he slid underneath the covers and opened his arms for you to snuggle next to him. A small smile crept onto your lips as you scooted over and laid your head on his chest before entangling your legs with his own.
“How are you feeling?” you whispered into the space around you, your thumb slowly rubbing over the edge of the bandage that covered his side. You remembered the image of seeing him in your window only a short while ago and your heart dropping at the sight.
“Better now. I’ll be okay,” he stated reassuringly as his hand trailed absentmindedly up and down your back. “We need to talk about you though. What’s got you all stressed? I didn’t even know you were struggling. You’d know I’d help and that you can talk to me, right?”
“Yes, Peter. I know that and even I didn’t know how bad it was until Banner pointed it out,” you muttered, sighing against his skin as you hid your face in the crook of his neck. You didn’t mean for it to get like this. You thought you could handle it. You thought you were handling it fine, but your body was telling you otherwise.
“What is it?” he asked again, his other hand reaching to grab yours. “What’s making you stressed? Talk to me.”
“For starters, school. This sophomore year workload is a lot to handle when I have other things to worry about.”
“Like what?” You had not told him about your mom taking on a second job to make ends meet, about how she worked from eleven at night to seven in the morning at a hotel then slept for a little then worked at the diner she had worked at for years for however long they had scheduled her, about how she barely took care of herself let alone you, how you had to take care of her and yourself. Your mom was your hero. She had taken all of this like a champ, and you felt like shit for letting it all get to you through your damn eye twitches. You didn’t need Peter to worry about you. That would have made things worse, and he has bigger things he needs to worry about anyway. Also, he would have told May and you could not take her big brown empathetic eyes looking at you in pity before she would hug you and you would definitely break down then.
“Y/n? Sweetheart? Are you crying?” Peter whispered as he pulled you from his chest to look at you and indeed, a tear had fallen from your beautiful face onto his shoulder. “Why are you crying, baby? What’s wrong?” He asked when he sat up with you and pulled you back into his arms for him to hold you.
“I didn’t want to tell you because I didn’t want you to worry,” you mumbled against his neck where you had hidden your face once again. You hated crying though you were comfortable doing so in front of Peter.
“Darling, you can always tell me anything. I care about you so much and I thought you were okay because that is what you have told me and shown me. It’s okay to break down. God knows how many times I’ve broken down and cried in front of you,” he stated with a laugh which had caused a watery chuckle to escape you. He leaned down to press his lips to your temple. “Talk to me, baby. Tell me what’s on your mind and maybe you’ll feel better.”
So, you did. You explained how your mom had to get another job, told him how you were worried for her because she was not caring for herself and how you were having to act as the mom of the house since she was trying to financially provide for you both. You unloaded everything you had in your head about the situation with your mom and the stress you had been feeling because of it.
He held you through it all. He had shifted you both back to laying positions as he held you against him with one arm and held your hand with his other. Every word he listened to intently and it felt like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. He was the best thing that had ever happened to you and you loved him with every ounce of your being.
“Why didn’t you say something sooner? You know I’d help you anytime,” he reassured you as if you had forgotten that he would help you. You knew he would be there for you in an instant when you would call, but something else had stopped you.
“Because… you’re Spider-Man. Queens needs you and you have bigger things to deal with like guys with technology from outer space. You should put that first, not my problems that I can handle myself.”
“I am Spider-Man, but I am also Peter Parker, and you matter most to me. So, I can leave the alien tech to someone else now that they’ll actually listen to me when I say there’s a bad guy and I can help you,” he reminded you and you nodded.
“Okay,” was you muttered before a beat of silence passed you both and then Peter spoke up again.
“Y/n?”
“Yeah.”
“Do I stress you out?” he questioned and as you were about to decline it, you remembered that he wasn’t just Peter Parker, but also Spider-Man, and that part of him did stress you out a little bit.
“Umm…” you trailed off as you got worked up again, tears swimming in your vision as you let out a shaky breath to calm yourself.
“I do, don’t I?” he inquired once more. The way his voice sounded so defeated made your heart split in two.
“Yes,” you spoke before the tears were flowing again. “But it’s only because I’m worried for your safety. I mean you didn’t see what I saw when you came to my window tonight. Peter, you looked awful, and what if it had been worse? What if you hadn’t been able to get up from the fight and seek help? What if y-you died? I don’t know what I’d do. I stay awake every night waiting for you to either show up at my window or for you to call and tell me you’re safe at home. Peter, I love you, but you being Spider-Man and risking your life constantly, that terrifies me. You handle it well, but I just get worried that one day you won’t come back.”
His eyes softened as you spoke while he was quick to pull you into his embrace and shush you to calm you from your cries. You had to admit that it did feel good letting all this out and telling him the truth finally, but these were the things that were weighing heavy on your heart and to just speak of them to someone helped lift that weight some.
“Baby, you know I will always come back to you. I think you underestimate me,” he chuckled as his hand ran up and down your arm in a soothing manner.
“I know you’re strong, asshole,” you laughed along with him before getting back to your main point, “but I am scared that you think you’re invincible and you’ll run yourself into something you can’t handle, and then what happens? You get seriously hurt or worse, you die and then I’ll be alone. So will May. Ned will not have his best friend. MJ won’t have someone to bug all the time. What are we supposed to do when we don’t have you, Peter? I-I can’t handle that.”
“Y/n, you can’t keep thinking of the worst-case scenario in this situation. There will always be that possibility, but I am sure that won’t ever happen. I can sense when something bad is going to happen before it does so I know when to get out of the way before something could potentially kill me. I will always be okay in the end and so will you so don’t worry too much about it. You’re stressing yourself out more than you need to,” he whispered calmingly as his thumb rubbed soothing circles into your skin. You sighed before cuddling into the boy. He was right. You did tend to let your mind wander to the worst, and you were stressing yourself out more than you needed to. You had other more important things to worry about like your mother and getting schoolwork done.
“I love you, you know that right?” you spoke softly against the flesh of his chest before pressing a light kiss where your words landed.
“Yes, I do. You wouldn’t worry yourself sick if you didn’t love me. I love you so much sweetheart,” he muttered into your hair. “Now tomorrow, we aren’t going to do anything that counts as work. We’ll sleep in, watch some movies, we can bake some cookies or something if you’d like?”
“That sounds nice,” you told him while nodding your head.
“Then that’s what we will do,” he stated into the space above you, into the darkness of his room. “Good night, y/n.”
“Good night, Peter,” you sighed as you melted into his body, his strong arms very present around you and holding you close and safe next to him. You could feel him. He was right there. He always came back so there was no need to worry. Your sweet little Peter Parker was not going anywhere. You had him right there and that was all you needed to feel calm.

"Please for the love of god go to sleep cucciolo." Damiano try to take the gaming controller from the sleepy blonds hands.
"Noooo Damianoooo just one more time then I'm gonna sleep. I promise just one!" Pursing his lips, Thomas tried to give the best puppy eyes he could.
"No. You're sleeping right now. Go to bed." Damiano stared hard to the other one until he gives the controller. Then he close the game and turned to the now pouting boy.
Thomas frowned unhappily when Damiano took the remote out of his hand. He crossed his arms over his chest. Blonde boy sighed loudly and went to bed dragging his feet.
After tossing and turning in bed for more than an hour Dami stand up. He was feeling guilty, so he can't help himself and went to check Thomas. He find the boy hugging his pillow and crying. He immediately goes to hug his baby. "Awww bambino why are you crying? I'm sorry for yelling at you. I just want you to get your sleep for tomorrow. We can play it after your exam I promise."
Thomas shakes his head and try to wipe his eyes with the arm of his sleeves. "No, no Damiano. I'm not crying because of that. I'd never stay mad at you. I'm crying because I'm anxious about tomorrow's exam. I know I'm not gonna be good Dami. I just don't understand biology and the teacher hates me. He said I'm a dumb blonde who can't understand anything. He said I only know how to do dumb music. I know I'm dumb but... We're doing good music. Why is he saying things like that I don't understand."
"Shhh no baby. Don't say that ever again. You're not dumb baby. You're clever. You go to school every day AND you do great things in a very successful band. No one can do this. Look at me. I couldn't do it. You're a very successful student and a musician. Don't forget that okay. Now, we're gonna sleep. Then tomorrow I'm driving you to school. And giving you a good luck kiss before the exam. Hows that sound hmm?"
Damiano went to bed and looked at the blonde boy. Thomas was blushing from all the compliments. "Ok. I guess."
"Then come here. Come to my arms baby. I'm gonna sing you till you sleep."
They lie there face to face. Damiano put one of his arms to Thomas' waist and pulled his body towards himself. His other arm was under Thomas' head stroking his blonde locks slowly.
When the blonde boy close his eyes and started to snore quietly Damiano stopped singing. He kiss the boys forehead slowly. "Oh baby I'm so gonna kill that dumb teacher tomorrow. Nobody can mess with my Tommy."

grow as we go [toni shalifoe]
toni shalifoe x reader
requested: Hello! I was wondering if you could do a Toni x reader before the island. Where the reader is Martha's older sister and she moved out a few years back but when her mom lets her know about the trial and stuff comes back immediately and finds Toni living there. And when they were kids Toni always had a crush on the reader and know that she's older it has just gotten stronger

The younger girls’ laughter filled the bedroom next door. You squished your pillow over your face, before slamming it down next to you.
You stripped the blankets off of you and headed straight towards the noise. You knocked on the door before opening it, “Marty, Toni, I love you both dearly, but please go to bed. I have a big test tomorrow and I need you to go to bed.”
“What’s so important about tests anyway?” Toni shot back, crossing her arms.
“You’ll find out once you become a sophomore in high school. So please...goodnight girls.” you said and they answered in unison.
“Goodnight Y/N.”
“Your sister’s hot.” Toni said bluntly.
Marty smacked her arm, “Ew stop! She’s so old! She’s 15 and we’re 12! That’s like dating your grandma!”
The two giggled like school girl children. Well they were, but Toni couldn’t stop getting you out of her mind. Which was weird, she never felt this way about anyone before. Like she wants to kiss Y/N.
Eww cooties!!! Toni thought before shrugging off the idea.
“I just don’t understand why people decide to eat meat? It’s literally killing animals.” Martha began.
We were waiting for her mom to pick us up from school, “Because meat is good. It’s literally heaven on Earth,” but she became at lost for words when she turned her head to see Y/N. All of the girls just a tad older now, you about to leave for college and then about to go into high school, “Actually that’s heaven on Earth.”
Marty finally looked up at who you were staring at, wide-eyed, “Shut up Toni! That’s my sister!”
She raised her hands up in defense, “I can’t help it!”You smiled at the two younger girls as you arrived to the spot they were sitting and waiting, “Hello beautiful.” she flirted.
You playfully rolled your eyes, “Hi Toni, Marty. How was your guy’s day?”
“It was good.” Marty said with a smile at her older sister.
“Better now that you’re here.” Toni flirted yet again and you just laughed.
She always flirted with you as time grew older. Once Toni discovered that she was only into girls, she did not hesitate to flirt with you on a daily. Especially when she realized that you liked girls and boys. It’s not that you didn’t like it, but you about to graduate and her about to enter high school was enough for you to be a little weirded out about the tiny age gap.
It was the night before you were about to leave for college and your family decided to have a little family game night, plus Toni of course. Both Marty and Toni were fighting over who was gonna be your teammate in the game, like always.
“She’s my sister!” Martha yelled, pulling at your arm.
“She’s my wife!” Toni yelled back and your sister dropped her arms, raising them up in defense.
“Yeah, you win.” she mumbled before placing a seat back on the couch.
You looked at Toni with a small smile on your face, before running your fingers through your hair, “You know I’m too old for you, right Toni?” there were a few minutes of silence and you nodded approvingly, until she said, “Yeah, but I’m in it for the long run.”
She smiled at you with her big cheeky smile and you pushed her slightly before ruffling her hair.
“Did you unload everything?” your mom asked as you looked into them empty trunk of the car. The airport terminal not too far away.
You nodded with a sad smile. Your dad rushed towards you, holding you in a big tight hug. Tears threatening to spill as we hugs tighter, “Stay safe, okay?”
“Of course Dad.” you then went over to your mom and gave her a huge hug while she cried into your shoulder, “I love you.” you whisper.
“I love you too.” she says back, sniffiling in the process.
Marty throws her arms around you and you could feel the tears hit the crook of you neck, “You gonna be okay?” you ask softly and all she did was nod, unable to say anything else, “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
And lastly there was Toni, who stood there awkwardly with a sad smile on her face.
“Get over here.” you say, nodding your head towards you, opening your arms wide. She throws herself into your arms just like Marty did. You hold her tight, burrying your face in her hair, “You take care of her for me, okay?”
“I will, I promise.”
The next four years of college was a blast. All of the parties, but really also all of the self-growth you learn along the way. You’ve been with a few guys and a couple girls, but all of the relationships seemed to fail. Like something was missing.
You were up late one night writing an essay, when my phone started ringing, “Hello?” I asked, whispering, not wanting to wake my friends up.
“Hey sweetheart.” your mom’s voice echoed throughout your ear.
You smiled softly, “Hey Mom, what’s up?”
“It’s about your sister,” your mom drew out and you immediately tensed up in your seat, waiting for her to answer, “She’s involved in a trial with her old physical therapist, from when she broke her bone, Dr. Ted.”
“A trial for what?” you asked, hoping and praying it’s not what you think.
Your mom sighed, her voice getting all chocked up, “There’s a bunch of accusations being made by hundreds of girls that he helped for sexual assault.”
Your heart dropped at what she said, you put your elbows on your desk, before rubbing your face with your hands, “I’ll be on the first flight home.”
You got back to Minnesota late at night. Almost midnight and the drive back to your house wasn’t the most pleasant, but all you thought about was getting home to Marty. She needs her older sister more than anything.
When you got home, you didn’t bother saying hello to your parents because they were fast asleep. You tiptoed through the halls and into your old bedroom, putting all the luggages next to the window. From the room next door, you could hear small laughter coming from inside.
The door was slightly opened, so you pushed on it a little more. You saw an older Toni and Martha messing and joking around with one another. You crossed your arms around your chest before leaning against the doorframe.
“I guess some things never change huh?” you questioned and the girls’ heads snapped towards yours.
“Y/N!” Marty yells, jumping from off her bed and towards you. But not before stepping on Toni’s body in the process.
“Ouch!” Toni screamed which caused you to let out a smal little laugh.
She embraced you in a hug and you just held her tighter, “What are you doing here?”
You shrugged, “I just wanted to visit for a bit.”
Toni gets up from off the mattress on the floor. And you notice a bunch of other clothes that belonged to her in Martha’s room.
“You live here now?” you asked, raising your eyebrow up.
She just nodded, “Yeah sorry about that. You’re probably stuck with me for awhile longer, not that I’m complaining.” she teased and you smiled.
“You grew up to beautiful Toni.” you said and the same smile you had, matched onto her face. You gave her a hug, holding her close, “It’s good to see you again. I’m gonna head to bed. Goodnight.”
As you closed the door. Toni opened her mouth just as wide as her eyes were, looking at Martha. She let out a small chuckle shaking her head.
“You are not going to date my sister.” she pointed out.
“I’d be your sister in law Marty. You should be happy.” she exclaimed, falling back onto the mattress with a dreamy look in her eye.
Marty just hummed in response, turning off the lights.
At around 2 in the morning, you heard muffled cries and sobs come from the room next door. You shot out of bed, heading straight to her room. To find your little sister crying in Toni’s arms. You didn’t say anything, but rather tilted your head in concern. Toni read your mind and just nodded.
You say on the mattress that laid on the floor, keeping the two of them company while she started to fall asleep and calm down. Toni laid Martha down softly before coming to plop down next to you.
“I tried protecting her Y/N.” Toni whispered and you nodded.
“I don’t blame you for this. We were both here when it happened. Neither of us could’ve known.” you explained, shaking your head, “You wanna know what I learned about you?”
“Oh no.” she mumbled before listening politely.
You let out a soft chuckle, “That you are the best friend anyone could ever ask for. Maybe it’s because you didn’t have the best family life. Or maybe it’s because you’ve never felt that kind of love, but it gave you the greatest quality of being the best friend that I have ever seen.”
“She’s my only family, I need to protect her.” Toni said with a shrug. You could feel her pinky inching closer to yours and you didn’t hesitate to move it closer either. She wrapped her hand around yours, the fingers falling into place with one another.
You tilted your head to the side, “And what about me?”
“I like you Y/N. I always have. No matter who I had a silly little crush on or actually dated. It was always you.” she whispered.
She stared at you in anticipation and you nodded with a smile, “I like you too.”
“So what does this mean?” Toni asked, your faces growing closer by the second.
“We’ll play the long game,” you tucked her hair behind her ear, “We’ll go out and live our lives, date who we want. But at the end of the day I’ll know you’re out there and you’ll know I’m here. We’ll find our way back.”
She crashed her lips onto yours and it was everything you expected. Soft, gentle, and amazing. Then suddenly it all clicked, like this is where I am meant to be.
