first of all, this is all legit, and not bait, though i have a feeling it may come off that way, this did happen to me. please don't publish if tumblr sends it off anon.
i'm a lesbian with gender dysphoria, and while i haven't had much sexual experience, i would consider myself a stone top. in the last year and a half i began reading "terf"/radical feminist writings and reading "terf" tumblr blogs fairly actively, largely out of frustration with misogyny i was experiencing IRL. though i never engaged with the community i did stop identifying as genderfluid and started understanding my dysphoria as stemming from the trauma of being bullied by other girls for having a high-androgen DSD, and using different pronouns/transition thoughts as unhealthy coping mechanisms. i'm happy with this, but i also don't know if i'm attracted to women anymore.
i've always been attracted to women in a way that's stereotypically guy-like; i find feminine women very attractive and not so much fellow(?) butches, want to penetrate with a strap on, don't like bush much, cursory interest in BDSM/daddy kink. i read/watched het erotica and porn sometimes and identified with the man. what i read problematized pretty much every aspect of that- femininity as a cage, penetration as violence/straps as disidentification w the female body, infantilization of women, bdsm as abuse etc. also, desisting making me more conscious of dysphoria/knowledge of how extensive sexual dimorphism is putting me off both women with larger breasts and hips AND smaller breasts and hips/unrealistically masculine body types as well. so a lot of what turned me on before isn't arousing anymore, or i feel guilty about it, and i haven't been able to find butch4butch stuff which is much healthier very interesting.
i consider my sexuality healthier now on a political level but my ability to get aroused/jerk off has plummeted (used to be i could jork it sunrise to sunset) and thinking about being in a relationship w another woman makes me feel uneasy and weird, especially since a lot of what i read emphasized reciprocative cunnilingus/tribbing (which i don't like) as the healthiest sex options. i also think about both my dysphoria and my sexuality issues 100x more than i did before, even though i was promised the opposite (freedom from dysphoria and feeling happier as a lesbian), and it's stressing me out day-to-day. i'm aware based on your general ethos that you probably think i'm a terrible person right now, but i figured it'd be useful to seek the opinion of someone who radically disagrees with what i've read on what i could/should do next, since i admittedly miss being at peace with my sexuality.
thanks for reading.
hi there anon,
it's a bummer that you'd think I would assume you're a terrible person based on everything you've told me here. I generally try not to consider people terrible unless they're actively being shitheads or hurting other people, which doesn't sound at all like you're describing. from what you've told me, you've been up to your eyes in some information that's made you feel deeply uncomfortable in your sexuality and now you're seeking out a new perspective to help you make sense of that hurt. that describes most of the people who send me questions!
it's so striking to me that much of what you're describing is very reminiscent of what's recounted in The Persistent Desire, an anthology of writings on butch/femme identities edited by femme historian and archivist Joan Nestle that was released in 1992. in various essays and interviews countless butches and femmes recount their discomfort with the feminist turn against butch and femme identities that too place in the 70s, when both roles were declared problematic recreations of heterosexuality and summarily decried as politically "incorrect" for lesbians. it's shocking to me how much what you've described echoes these accounts experienced by lesbians half a century ago - the disowning of women who are "excessively" feminine or masculine, the demonizing of penetrative sex, general insistence that there are "correct" sex acts that every lesbian is supposed to enjoy, and the deep discomfort and insecurity that this causes among people who don't fit into the very rigid standards of proper lesbian identity set forth.
here's a link to a PDF, if that's interesting to you at all. it's very long, so feel free not to read it straight through; it's a great project to skim and an incredible way to get in touch with the lesbians who came before us. their accounts of their lives are so wildly different from the boundaries of "good" queer representation that feel so universal today; in discussing their own lives many of these women speak very bluntly about their experiences with abuse, drugs, sex work, and violence. it's a great glimpse into the lives and history of a lot of very ordinary lesbians just living their lives, and I'm very grateful it's been preserved.
now, as for what you're actually gonna do: hey. listen. first of all, if you haven't given up reading this stuff yet, you've gotta. you simply cannot keep internalizing stuff that makes you overanalyze your own sexuality so hard that you feel uncomfortable about being attracted to women. that's not "healthy," that's conversion therapy lite. there are other places to talk about feminism without being made to feel ashamed of yourself.
listen: there's nothing unhealthy about anything that you described about yourself. being a stone butch, being attracted to certain looks and aesthetics, watching porn, wanting to use a strap and roleplay during sex and not being interested in other sexual activities - all of those thing are completely normal and, yes, healthy. certainly healthier than feeling the need to repress your sexuality so hard that thinking about being with a woman doesn't feel right!
should we run through that list?
femininity as cage - sure, okay, femininity isn't for everyone, and there are parts of it that suck. that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with women who like to wear dresses or put on makeup or shave or whatever, or anyone who's attracted to those women. genuinely I cannot think of anything less interesting or important to feminist organizing than getting hung up about what people want to wear. it's clothes, dude. it's fucking clothes. pick a more important hill to die on, I implore you.
penetration is not the same thing as violence. there's just nothing to debate about that one; it's patently absurd to pretend that every act of penetrative sex is rape and you'd have to fundamentally misunderstand how consent works to believe that.
straps are not about "disidentification with the female body," they're about augmenting a sexual experience. a strap-on is not more problematic than a vibrator or a massage oils or a pillow used to prop up a body part. unless those are also bad? are those bad? are pillows disidentifying from the female body also? I'm not up to date on this.
straight up I don't even know which part of your whole deal the infantilization of women is supposed to address, but a thing that I've always found interesting about a lot of radical feminists who are deeply distrustful of sex is the way that many of them seem to assume that women can't be trusted to understand their own sexual desires and need to be taught what's appropriate. seems kind of condescending to me, personally.
BDSM isn't the same thing as abuse. abuse, crucially, is not a situation that people can safe word out of or negotiate the constraints of. it's kind of like how, you know, I purposefully pay people to shove needles in my skin when I want a tattoo, but I wouldn't be stoked about it if somebody just ran up to me in public and started stabbing me without any warning or conversation. context is crucial. there can certainly be abusive people within BDSM spaces, but that's true of people of literally every sexual proclivity on earth, and certainly not an innate feature of BDSM. it's just make believe, dude. it's dress up. it's sex LARPing.
also, psst, hey. that thing about being attracted to women in a "guy-like" way? no such thing. men are humans, dude; they experience attraction in as many different ways as anyone else. for every dude interested in the same stuff as you there are men yearning for hairy women, muscular women, masculine women, women who will dominate them, women who would rather be eaten out then penetrated, and so on. to say nothing of the men who aren't into women at all! and, as is obvious from your own experience, men don't have a monopoly on those kinds of feelings, anyway! there are no men or women feelings, dude; it's all just people having feelings and fighting for their lives trying to figure out what they're into to.
I want to particularly talk about that last bit, where you mentioned not enjoying or wanting to engage in cunnilingus or tribbing. that's totally fine! people like different shit in all kinds of combinations - I'm personally a huge fan of getting eaten out and scratched up or bitten, but I don't do penetration and I've genuinely never met anyone who actually liked tribbing - and there are absolutely people out there who will, to paraphrase the poet Tinashe, perfectly match your freak.
(have you heard about the perpetual, critical shortage of tops that the queer community faces? you'd be a godsend, just saying.)
also, actually, hey I wanted to circle back to another thing as well: it's deeply alarming to me that whatever radfem stuff you've been reading has you feeling "put off" of women with wide hips and large breasts as well as women with small breasts and hips. what is wrong with either of those? both of those are just ways that women naturally look. women just look a wide variety of ways, and it's sad that that's upsetting you now. just thinking about this, conceptually, is giving me hives.
having been up to your eyes in all of this, I can definitely understand why you'd feel the urge to overanalyze you own gender and sexuality to the point of completely talking yourself out of identifying with anything that feels good for you. as I said, that's actually not healthy in any way, and as a sex educator I can't say that I think anyone genuinely invested in your well-being would want that for you.
entirely aside from their feelings on trans people, which I obviously disagree with pretty vehemently, one of the things about radfems that's most endlessly vexing to me is the insistence that such an extremely narrow range of sexual behaviors are appropriate. seems like a miserable way to live, and I sincerely hope you can detangle yourself from the morass of shame it's landed you in. you deserve better.

emily gwen absolutely does not deserve to live in poverty but it's a massive stretch to say they invented the flag when it's just another edit of someone's edit of someone's edit of the lipstick lesbian flag. they should get support but im fucking sick of people acting like they did something amazing for us when all they did was add more ugly colors to an existing ugly flag. they deserve better because they're human but no one is taking anything away from them by using the flag that was already derivative
so is my inbox just a magnet for dumbasses lately?
i don't know what the fuck you think the lipstick lesbian flag is, but this is the lipstick lesbian flag:
it was created by a woman named natalie mccray, who is notoriously a racist and transphobe. nevertheless, this flag became very popular in online spaces when it was introduced.
since there was still no official lesbian flag, people then used a derivative of this flag as one. it's not really known who decided to remove the lipstick symbol from it and use it as a flag for lesbians in general. but for a while, this is the flag that some people used:
many people had gripes over using the pink flag as our official one. some didn't like that it was based off a flag made by a bigot, others didn't like that it excluded butches and masc lesbians as pink usually symbolizes femininity (which is absolutely valid; they're the backbone of the lesbian community).
during much of the 2010s, many tried to create their own original lesbian flags. but emily gwen's creation gained much popularity because the meaning behind their flag and the different colours that THEY personally chose resonated with many in the lesbian community. this is the sunset lesbian flag that emily created with all the meanings behind each colour:
emily was not copying the lipstick lesbian flag or anyone else's flag. if you were around during 2018 when emily released this flag, emily would explain time and time again their thought process when they came up with this design (i don't remember it all, but i do remember that the dark orange was actually meant to specifically represent butch lesbians and the dark pink was meant to specifically represent femme lesbians; but emily eventually altered the meanings behind them because butch/femme culture is merely a subculture of lesbian genders and they wanted to include others who are exclusively masculine or feminine but are not butch/femme).
emily's creation of the sunset lesbian flag is a historic part of lesbian culture. they put a lot of thought into the flag, and they've received so much hate for trying to be inclusive of everyone in the community. i don't give a fuck if you like the flag or not, but what you're not going to do is accuse my friend of something that is absolutely untrue and disrespectful.
so get the fuck out of my inbox before you start spouting bullshit. you're an embarrassment to the lesbian community.

The femme voice is underrepresented in historical records, though markings of her presence abound. Often, she is the security behind the butch display, the one who makes the public bravado possible. Lady Una Troubridge's words to Radclyffe Hall, while spoken by a white, upperclass, Christian woman, capture some of the enduring aspects of femme power: "I told her to write what was in her heart, that so far as any effect upon myself was concerned, I was sick to death of ambiguities..." Yet to others, the femme woman has been the most ambiguous figure in lesbian history; she is often described as the nonlesbian lesbian, the duped wife of the passing woman, the lesbian who marries. Because I am a femme myself, I know the complexity of our identity; I also know how important it is for all women to hear our voices. If the butch deconstructs gender, the femme constructs gender. She puts together her own special ingredients for what it is to be a "woman/' an identity with which she can live and love.

Let me tell you what femme has meant for me and what it could mean for everyone. Let me stretch the word.
Let's say that femme is dispossessed feminity. It's the femininity of those who aren't allowed to be real women and who have to roll their own feminine gender.
Rolling their own is what cis-femme lesbians did in the fifties. By class and by sexual preference, they were dispossessed of real womanhood. For what woman is complete without money or a man? So they learned how to improvise, how to sew; how to turn a thrift-store sow's ear into a vintage silk purse.
Rolling their own is what contemporary femme dykes do. Invisible in straight spaces and frequently trivialized in queer ones, they must voice their femininity in a way that does not get shouted down or ignored. No easy task.
Rolling their own is what drag queens and trannies do and have always done. For what woman is complete without hairless skin and a cunt? We too learned how to improvise, and when we were mocked as caricatures of real women, we often became skilled caricaturists, owning the insult, engulfing it.
And this is what femme gay men do, too. Dangerously visible in straight space and often ridiculed in gay male space, femme gay men take shit from all sides. The straights dish it to them because they're visible. Second-wave feminists dish it to them because they're both feminine and male, and have thus sinned twice. Other gay men dish it to them for acting like, well, chicks.
What these groups share, aside from a fondness for eyeliner, is the illegitimacy of their femininity. That's how I understand femme: badass, rogue, illegitimate femininity. It's the femininity of those who aren't supposed to be feminine, who aren't allowed to be, but are anyway.
Second-wave feminists used to slander both feminine dykes and transsexual women as "female impersonators." And this is true. What they missed is that female impersonation is what femme is. Femmes can only impersonate real women because we are, by rules beyond our control, not real women. But broke-ass homos, trannies, and drag queens won't be real women until patriarchy is smashed, heterosexism is on its knees, and class counts for nothing. Until then, we are other. Our cleavage is an uncanny valley. And the more passable and invisible we are—the more like real women we find ourselves seeming—the greater our supposed deception.
This sucks. We don't mean to be deceptive. But, like Jessica Rabbit, we're just drawn that way.

"What is butch? Rebellion against women's lot, against gender-role imperatives that pit boyness against girlness and then assign you-know-who the short straw. Butch is a giant fuck YOU! to compulsory femininity, just as lesbianism says the same to compulsory heterosexuality. I do not associate respect for compulsory anything with butchness, though perhaps some butch bottoms will disagree. I first gravitated toward butch women because they were the easiest female allies to recognize in my war against the compulsory world.
In the 1970s, when I came out in the dyke community, butch was dead and androgyny was practically an imperative. I didn't mind at first; girliness as a way of life hadn't worked out for me, and though I had always exhibited distinctly femme sexuality, I wasn't presenting myself to the world that way: I hadn't really grown into the image. I was young; the men I had fucked played "Me Tarzan, You Jane." I couldn't figure out how to get them to play the game by different rules. As soon as sex with them was over (or even while it was still going on) the whole thing felt stupid. Men who didn't play Tarzan were fine, but I couldn't figure out how to get them to fuck me. No doubt they were contending with their own straight (or not-so-straight) boy version of femme sexuality and were waiting for me to make the first move. Some men don't play Tarzan so as not to appear sexist; others just want you to do it-- grab their neckties and out them where you want them -- but I didn't know that at the time.
With some relief then, I retired the Jane I never wanted to be, reconstructed myself as an androgyne, and forsook my vain attempt to present my femininity to the world. The Uniform, actually, was Butch Lite. Jeans or chinos, flannel shirts or tees, sensible shoes-- either boots, athletic shoes, or Birkenstocks (it turns out the latter were incredibly subversive if you wore them with scarlet toenail polish, but that's another story). Almost the whole dyke community dressed this way: if a woman didn't, her politics and her sexual orientation were automatically up for debate.
The butches who were left over from the era before the purge also dressed this way. We had renamed the identity, it seemed, but kept the look. That way we could say we'd vanquished it, even as we kept it around to turn us on.
The unschooled eye couldn't tell the two sorts of women -- butches and androgynes-- apart. Butchness had been so thoroughly declared passe that an entire generation of dykes could dress in what was essentially butch-woman drag and evoke defensive responses only from conservative straight people (and very straight-identified "gay women").
At first I believed the mythos of the Vanished Butch (and her symbiotic sister-species, the Vanished Femme). But certain women wearing the Uniform made my nostrils flare, my tongue tie, my skin prickle like an electrical storm had passed. They filled the clothes differently. It took me some years to begin to understand why I wanted to chew on some women's thick brown leather belts and not on others.
Non-butch women wore the Uniform like librarians who had just come in from gardening. It was not clothes that made the woman. It was stance. It was attitude-- it was impossible to picture one of the librarians wearing a tux, or myself dressing in silk or lace to present myself to her. It was impossible to think of presenting myself to her at all, to offer her that mixture of allure and willingness that I desired to give a butch woman."

PAC: How Can I Be More Connected to My Community? (LGBTQ+ EDITION)
Hello all! In this week’s edition of the Women’s History Month tarot series, I have decided to add a more specifically inclusive topic to this series. I will be reading on how you can develop more connections with women in your community. 🫶 Using my LGBTQ+ tarot deck, I will get to the bottom of this. Without further ado, pick your pile.
***Disclaimer: The purpose of this reading is to help women/femmes connect with other women/femmes! Much love. 🫶
Left-to-Right (1-6):
Pile One: Pile One, I feel like you have some issues with women in general. This is what a sociologist would call internalized misogyny. Every woman goes through this at some point but I am picking up on bisexual femme/*general* lesbian energy. This is what is keeping you from being in close company with other women. How are you going to be distrusting of women if this is what you are trying to attract? Whether romantically or platonically, I feel like you need to open up your world a bit. I feel like you can be particularly distrusting of women who mirror your energy, which is ironic. There is some shadow work that must be done for self-forgiveness. You have not forgiven yourself for something that could have happened at work or school? Some type of situationship perhaps. Or maybe you have the tendency to get into crash-and-burn type of relationships, which explains your lack of trust. Learn how to take things easy and slowly; lean into those gut feelings. The type of women you will attract in your circle/community will be women that aren’t afraid to apologize and take accountability. You need people around you that are going to be there for you when you fall. I get the feeling that the people attracted to this are people who are on medication. A bonus tip: Take your medication please! (this is coming from someone who has to do so as well). You need to be around people that will ground you and make sure that you aren’t too imbalanced. I pulled some Rebel Deck Oracle cards for you and this is what your community would say to you:
“Fuck fear.”
“You are going through some tough shit.”
“You need a good fucking cry.”
“You need some fucking yoga in your life.”
Cards Used: The Star (RX), Knight of Wands, The World, Four of Wands, Ten of Pentacles, Temperance, Ten of Swords, Three of Pentacles, Ace of Wands, The High Priestess, The Empress, Two of Wands, Five of Swords and Nine of Pentacles (RX).
extras: mommy issues. being the wild card. “gone with the wind.” melanie martinez. aries. bryson tiller. makeup forever. yo perreo sola by bad bunny. rue bennett. BPD. card games. playful energy. “likewise.” roaches/blunts. twitter fingers. snapbacks. jordan dunks. cheeky underwear.
Pile Two: Pile Two, your message is similar to Pile One’s. I feel you need to stop being so male-centered or heteronormative. You could be agender but have a partner who falls into the binary, and this make you feel conflicted on what gender roles you should take on. You could be a lesbian who looks for a specific woman to play the “man” or the “woman” in the relationship. You could be a transwoman who is hyperfixated on not being clocked. You could identify as bisexual but have a cishet partner, and because of this, you feel fraudulent. If you fit into any of these categories, I feel like the main thing you need to know is you shouldn’t beat yourself up for being bold enough to express yourself the way you want to. You should, however, examine the relationship that you have with men/masculine. Whether you like it or not, you’re holding yourself to a standard that a man created and therefore, you are playing into misogyny. You are defying the odds in some way, shape or form and it has been done for years. Stop putting the people who oppress you on a pedestal. I feel like you’ve been around too many straight/cis-heterosexual people or internalize their ideas. The first step is to grieve your old self. You need to step into the version of yourself that is forward-thinking and pioneering. This can be a lonely road to take but it’s going to help you get to the people that you seek. You’re supposed to be around people who protest; strong, independent thinkers who do not take no for an answer. Reintroduce yourself to the world, Pile Two and great people will await you. I pulled some Rebel Deck Oracle cards for you and this is what your community would say to you:
“You got a feeling you just can’t shake.”
“It’s dark and you can’t see a fucking thing.”
“Get over yourself. Pull your shit together.”
You need a good fucking cry.”
“Put the fucking phone down”
Cards Used: Eight of Swords, Four of Swords, Nine of Wands, Ten of Pentacles, Four of Wands (RX), King of Wands (RX), Ten of Pentacles, Queen of Swords, Three of Pentacles, Queen of Wands, Four of Cups, Five of Cups, Ace of Wands.
extras: but i’m a cheerleader. “Dani”. can’t back down by camp rock cast. leather boots. lots of rings. chunky highlights. recently got a car wash. need for pampering. long legs. stylish. fringe. long eyelashes. brimmed coats. new york. miami. LA. colored eyes. flashy jewelry. the color gold. pigs.
Pile Three: Pile Three, you honestly could just keep doing you. I feel like people are naturally drawn to you. Your energy reminds me of my friend who is friends with other gay women and she’s so likable. You could honestly vibe with anyone. You could fall in any LGBTQ category, but you have a big heart. I’m not going to lie though, Pile Three, you can come on too hard with some people; especially those who are on the shy side. So, calm it downnnn just a bit. People appreciate your community organizing efforts though. I feel like you’re known in your local community just for being friendly, helpful and wanting better for the LGBTQ+ community. This is something you take pride in. I feel like something that you can do to attract more LGBTQ+ women in your life is to actually do the opposite of Pile One. I feel like you tend to draw in all types of people, so you have the tendency to be disappointed by people’s actions. Be more protective of your energy and you’ll attract more community members like yourself. People who have ideas that are as big as yours. People who want to change the world. People who want to leave behind old traditions. People who have dreams that they actively pursue. Your energy is just so precious and bright, Pile Three. You really need to be careful. I pulled some Rebel Deck Oracle cards for you and this is what your community would say to you:
“Stop talking.”
“It’s dark and you can’t see a fucking thing”
“Rebel”
Cards Used: Knight of Swords, Justice (RX), King of Wands, The Moon, Page of Pentacles, Four of Cups (RX), The Star, Seven of Wands, Three of Swords, Page of Swords, The Hermit, King of Pentacles, Three of Cups, The Sun, Eight of Cups, The Hanged Man, Page of Cups.
extras: stripes. fruit lover. small hoops. glasses. checklist. virgos. the color blue. mondays. morning people. cash register. mom friend. goofball. nice smile. shoulder length hair. bright pajamas. trans right advocate.
Pile Four: Pile Four, you’re like really smart and confident. This could rub people the wrong way though. I feel like your energy is only for certain people, you’re not everyone’s cup of tea. I think that you were probably born in the wrong state or town. You probably are the only queer/trans person in town when you’re supposed to be in a place like Dallas, California or Atlanta. Relocation is the move for you definitely. I get this sense that you’re the token gay friend. The energy feels awkward. I feel like where you’re right now is for school and you’re just trying to stick it out for now. But if you are able to move, please do so. If you cannot though, the steps that you need to take toward having more community is pushing past the people that you encounter on a daily basis. You aren’t looking hard enough for your types of people. You keep circling the same places instead of trying out that new activity. The old fashioned way of seeking community is out! Perhaps, you should download Tinder or actually go to that event at school. If all else fails, you should start a club for LGBTQ+ students and see who shows up. You will know that you’ve found your people by looking outside the box; the outcasts; the quiet people; the loners. I pulled some Rebel Deck Oracle cards for you and this is what your community would say to you:
“Laugh”
“Eat your fucking vegetables”
“Rebel”
Cards Used: Strength, Eight of Cups (RX), King of Cups, Two of Swords, Six of Wands, Knight of Pentacles, Seven of Swords, Eight of Pentacles, Four of Cups, Justice, Seven of Pentacles, The High Priestess, The Lovers (RX), The Emperor.
extras: scorpio energy. pasta and lobster. aquarius. rap music. banana. artsy. theater kid. biracial. young thug. “cordial.” patience is key. “get lost.” bree runway.
Pile Five: Pile Five, you’re quite the mysterious one, aren’t you? Your energy feels so discreet. I feel like you’ve done the work to be perceived as more approachable but you still feel a little empty. I think you need to take a vacation. You work so hard, maybe a little too hard. This will be where you find your *gay* people. The feeling of being burned out comes to mind. It feels like you’re a loner. Maybe you’re Pile Four’s type of people lol. You need to be refreshed. I think you actually need to go outside. Soak in the sun, go to the beach, the park, somewhere outdoors. It feels like you don’t have people around you. You’re isolated. You stay to yourself but doesn’t that get lonely, Pile Five? I would also say consider making long distance friends or internet friends who are a part of the LGBTQ+ community in order to combat this loneliness. I also would say that you need to put in more effort to maintain these friendships as well. The types of people that you will be attracting are the genuine friendships where you go bar hopping with them. You need people around who are going to keep you light on your feet and entertain you with the latest news about how Gay #1 is secretly in love with Bisexual #2. I pulled some Rebel Deck Oracle cards for you and this is what your community would say to you:
“Take a fucking trip”
“You are talented and fucking amazing”
“Shit is going down with your job”
Cards Used: Six of Swords, The Empress, The Magician, The Hanged Man, Judgment, Queen of Wands, Justice, The World, The Star, Death, Ace of Swords, Three of Cups, King of Swords, Two of Swords.
extras: “quiet as a church mouse.” purple. wigs. red nails. “you’re so dry.” day-by-day. bad at texting. celebrity gossip. spirituality. meditation.
Pile Six: Pile Six, you’re so scandalous lmao. I don’t want to be the one to say this but you need to stop sleeping and/or flirting with women’s partners. It scares off potential friends and it causes people to not trust you. Another thing you need to stop doing is kissing your friends. You need to draw some lines between platonic and romantic relationships. And if you are polyamorous, your favorites are starting to show; show love equally or expect a mess to blow up in your face. You need to expand outward, Pile Six. I know people are making a spectacle of your love life and you don’t understand why but remember this: Every habit that you have is connected to how you treat others. People take notice of this. You moved like you’re in a small room, dear. You need to expand! Expand your circle of lovers; stop messing with people in the smalltown that you’re in when you should be with someone in the city. Instead of taking offense to other people’s words, you should be doing some self-introspection. Why do you do the things that you do? Is it for attention? Out of boredom? Out of desperation? For revenge? You should take up a hobby and find a new passion. This may be where you find your people. I think that being around people who are older/more mature than you would benefit you. You need to be around a community of people who are mothers/act like mothers. They have stories to tell and you will gain knowledge from them. You will feel understood. They won’t judge you ‘cause they’ve been there. I pulled some Rebel Deck Oracle cards for you and this is what your community would say to you:
“You are going through some tough shit”
“You = Tight ass”
“Fuck fear”
“They broke your heart”
Cards Used: Temperance (RX), Judgment (RX), The Magician, The Star, Queen of Wands, Five of Cups, Nine of Swords, Four of Pentacles, Nine of Pentacles, Three of Wands, Page of Swords (RX), The Messenger (Hierophant), Eight of Pentacles, Knight of Wands (RX).
extras: pisces. cuticles. cucumbers. questioning. dominance. foreplay. sexual education. “you clean up nice.” fake drunk. long dresses. cocoa brown complexion.

What have I been doing instead of writing or classwork? Modding BG3 and making my OCs, of course!
I posted pics before when I only had the vanilla game assets available.
First is the story's interpretation of what Astarion looked like before turning. Yes, I accept other interpretations of what he looked like, such as different eye colors or even his hair color. This is not what I believe to be the most-likely scenario for canon pre-vampirism Astarion.
(If you don't care about my story's OCs, then don't bother with the read more break. It is there as a courtesy to those who just want Astarion as well as to avoid how loooong this post will be.)
Mods used: Toarie's New Character Creation Presets (Andrei head, which I'm fairly certain is a tweaked Astarion with no bite marks, clearer skin, etc), Vessnelle's Hair Collection (M3, it's still not what I wanted but it was the best I could find, his hair should be more like ringlets and in a higher ponytail and no/different bangs) Other settings: Pallid Tone 1 Skin, Elf Gold 2 Eyes, White 3 + 75% Greying (Grey Neutral 2)
Eletha Nightstar/Lorelai Irithyl
Mods used: ASTRL Hair Color Supplement (Eletha has some more greying/highlighting involved) Changes for Lorelai: Toned down the make-up that was making Eletha look "tired", two blue eyes, No scars, No piercings, Less aging, Hair is vanilla "Sorcha Curls" Notes: I ended up not changing Eletha pretty much at all, all I would change is making her lips thinner Character Notes:

god damn, those judgmental, narrow minded types. so closed off to what they don't (won't) understand.
"eww, why do they post so much about fake silicone, it's just toys and games, why don't they just like using their pussies like Us Normal Girlssss~*~*~"
like i get it. we are not about the formula for the way you want to fuck. we are clearly wired differently. it's real to us, even if it doesn't make sense to you. move on rather than being catty about it.
this shit is why i gravitate to befriending men in the lgbt community sometimes. at least they're not gonna judge me for bein masculine, having a cock-based sexuality and using it for topping the same sex.
is it that hard to not be a prissy bitch to us weirdo leslie feinberg gender freaks? for like, one day. cut the high school garbage.
there aren't that many of us in the world, and if you don'tlike to see us socially and sexually connecting together online, too bad. it's because we are a serious minority in every place where we live, and we often know few people or even no one else like us irl, and we need each other, we need to do that reaching out.
if stone top/bottom butch/femme sex is unrelatable to you, just press the X button and don't waste your time posting shit about it behind our backs. it's public, we do know what you say about us, and can easily guess what else in closed spaces, too.
Every new arrogant generation tries to recreate the 60s-80s Lesbian Sex Wars that divided us.
it's so old hat. just show each other respect, get over the cultural/physical differences, and grow up.
Edit: Please reblog the full version of this post here instead.
#lesbiansafe#wlwsafe#butch femme#stone top#stone butch#stone femme#stone sexuality#deal with it#i respect other lesbians but they don't respect me and my kind. what else is new?#this was in regards to notes of the last post i reblogged plus some others i've seen around#but really? this sentiment is EVERYWHERE because it comes from the straight world and sexism#i reblogged this with more criticism of exactly that nature so look if you dare lmao

The original trio + Their gender presentation
Percy:Pastel punk and femme trans woman. She was always punk but finds the pastel edition most fitting and comforting after depreving herself of being allowed to enjoy womanhood for so long out of trauma.Blue is still is her main color ofc but she also mixes in different shades and different colored pastels and learns to reclaim her sea heritage so she also adds on mermaid themed things like seashell hairclips.Uses she/her but no they/them and also a BIG hoard of neopronouns due to her autism-Those being blue/dude/cookie/meow/paw/lego/doll(Last one is reserved soley for loved ones because of how weird people can get about them)and makes catgirl jokes sometimes by comparing herself to Rosie from Animal Crossing,Mae Borowski, etc.Afrolatina so she wears her hair in black styles, usually just letting it be down in it's natural super poofy state
Annabeth:Stud(A term for butch lesbian but black exclusive).Your classic pick me tomboy turned transmasc lesbian deal and has an undercut and was on t and got both surgeries, complete with owl wing shaped top surgery scars.Mostly uses he but ocassionally likes they and almost entierly uses masc terms(Such as 'king' over 'queen',Percy calls her 'Wise Guy' instead of 'Wise Girl' and so forth).Dresses like a tomboy everyday and wears suits and cologne for special occasions and helped Percy with her transition by giving her the 'girly' things she'd been gifted but didn't want, such as the Claire's kids makeup kit her stepmom bought her inbetween TLT and Som.Still has her silver owl earrings because imo they give her black butch swag and allows her to match with Percy and Grover, which i'll get to in a sec
Grover:Transneutral but presents as a mix of masc and fem and also gay(Juniper is a she/her transmasc).Since i hc him as blasian because of his actors,he mixes in his indian heritage with his specific type of gncness such as doing both men and women's traditions!!Sadly he felt bad about his identity at first because of stereotypes against asian men not unlike his two best friends and now found sisters too with their own queerness but thankfully,a big part of his character development is learning to do things for himself without caring what others think! As per canon he wears rasta hats but in 'groovy' fun colors and outfits that match them and tbh i don't wanna give him an assigned birth gender not just cause it's weird but also because i think it's more fun if you can make whichever interpretation you like :].He couldn't care less about pronouns as long as you're using them respectfully but uses xe/leaf in addition to the standard ones. And for the earrings,Percy has a pair of pastel blue strawberries with light pink petals and Grover has a mismatched set that's a music note and a leaf♡

Looking for models for a series of butch and femme portraits
EDIT: Thank you so much for all the interest! I have received about all the volunteers I can handle at the moment. If you’re still really interested, please feel free to reach out, but I likely won’t be able to get to your portrait for a matter of months, if at all. Sorry, and thanks!
I’m thinking about doing a series of butch and femme portraits, and I’d like to use real people as references to make sure that the series captures the reality and diversity butch and femme experiences and lives.
If you’re butch or femme—or if you otherwise feel that being a lesbian has shaped your gender in someway—and interested in having your portrait drawn (for free), could you please reach out through asks/messages/reply to this post?
This would be the general style/idea for the pieces:
I think I’d like to stick to drawing of torsos/hands/full bodies without faces, like these ones. I’m kind of interested in the ways in which we embody butchness and femmeness through our bodies themselves—the way we hold ourselves, clothe ourselves, and the way we move through the world. This series would focus on that. Also, I’m happy to draw just one person, as in the above pieces, or multiple (like a couple).
I’d post the finished portraits on here, with your permission. You could be credited/tagged as a model if you’re comfortable with it, or it could be anonymous if you’d prefer.
Of course I can’t promise that I’ll end up making a piece for everyone who reaches out, but I would like to make as many as possible, so please do let me know if you’re interested.
Please only reach out if you are an adult, though, and also note that I’m only interested in drawing clothed portraits at the moment. And absolutely no terfs.
Thanks! <3

If I get read as trans at a "queer women's event," dykes assume I'm a straight transsexual guy. Ironically, this grants me free access. I bear no resentment toward my FtM brothers, but I do grind my teeth over women's spaces and dyke circles that welcome them yet which exclude my transsexual sisters. I am infuriated by the underlying assumption: my brave FtM brothers, who have sacrificed to become men, are just conformist women, and my bold MtF sisters who have fought to be women, are really men with a fetish for being marginalized. Are we dykes so fragile, so afraid, that we cannot allow anyone to enter, leave, or even explore? When we imply FtM men are still gay women, how can we also fear that "we are losing our butches"?
Our butches? Whose butches? Does the dyke community own its members? Our sex lives? Our genders? Does it control us for our own good?
Dykes are not fragile flowers. Many femmes wear the flaming rose. It's a flower, but it'll fight back if you try to crush it. What tough flower would symbolize us butches? Or do we fear that butches are the fragile ones, anxious to leave the dykespace?
We fear men will undo us, erase us; that we must guard against their entrance into our spaces, or our sister's pants. But men have been part of butch-femme for as long as I can remember. Pre-electrical lesbian spaces contained trans-spectrum men who feared presenting as male in public, and butches who feared looking mannish because of laws, written and unwritten, that prohibited putting a vagina into a pair of pants. Medical transition has been around since the 1930s, and it has not destroyed us. There were gay men who shared our bar scene, and their business kept many of "our" bars afloat. The lesbian communities that most feared men also feared femmes, butches, transsexuals, and every other stripe of gender freedom.
Butch-femme is tough. We are tough. Our cultures have survived alcoholism, homophobia, beatings, corrupt vice squads, poverty, and the sex wars—plus all the other problems of living. I think we can survive transgender medicine.
The happiest butch-femme spaces I've seen are those that embrace the gender spectrum. There we find butches and femmes who go by "she" and love their unmodified bodies. We have FtMs who've done the works—T, top, and crotch—who may be men or butch or femme or more. They include me and others who transitioned into being butches. They include femmes without questioning their taste in lovers. And it works.
Men will not undo us. But an unchecked fear of men—of becoming a man, dating a man, having been forced to be one, looking too much like one, being too attractive to men in general, or aiding and abetting any of the above—can and will make our community unliveable if we let it. But we should not fear or police ourselves. If we did that, there'd be no butch or femme in the first place.

BEFORE YOU INTERACT / DO NOT INTERACT
// pt: before you interact / do not interact //
Disclaimer: our dni only usually applies to follows and direct interactions, however we do hold the right to block liberally :>
DNI:
// pt: dni //
Bigots (racists, queerphobes (includes aphobia!), antisemitists, intersexists, ableists, etc.), fatphobes, kink / nsfw blogs (we are hypersexual), anti endos and sysmeds, identity policers of ANY kind (as long as the identity isn't problematic), rqs and transIDs, proshippers, disordered abuse believers, anti-kin, pro/neu/complex contact harmful paraphilias, SH / ED centric blogs, anti self-dx with research, syscourse centered blogs and singlets who involve themselves in syscourse
Dni Explained (link)
Thin ice:
People who censor filter tags, those who refuse to translate typing quirks
Dnfi (do not follow if) your blog is centered around the omegaverse / misceverse, or a yandere blog. We're very uncomfortable with those types of things.
We are a median parasian traumagenic system. We believe we could have Partial Dissociative Identity Disorder however were still doing research. We don't support fakeclaimers and syscourse around here, our blog is endo safe and we don't believe singlets belong in syscourse. We're also fictive heavy, mainly Monster High and Steven Universe. We block anyone who uses anti endo tags on sight unless we're aware they aren't going to be a threat to us (mainly mutuals).
Some of us are in a polycule so please keep that in mind lol. I (Yellow Pearl) am mostly vocal about it
Our collective identities (non-alterhuman) are lesbian, and aromantic. Genders vary from sysmate to sysmate but the host (Yellow Pearl) is a nonbinary neogirl. Please don't call me a girl, I still consider that misgendering 👍
We are bodily intersex but only I (Yellow Pearl) and Pearl are label ourselves as such.
Our username is a joke on how most of us are Steven Universe fictionfolk as well as femme lesbians! We are NOT terfs, terfs can back the fuck off
We are bodily physically alterhuman, we are an anthropomorphic bat who's real form is hidden under a 'veil'.
We prefer not being mutuals with anyone who can't handle what we post about, or our mental stuff. We tend to a vent a lot, and we have an organization tag that can be filtered if it becomes too much. We also don't want to be mutuals with anyone who thinks they can't handle Ula.
If you have a problem with our behavior, we'd prefer you shoot us an ask or a DM. We'll get to ya when we can. We also ask you remain civil while doing so. (Edit: asks only as we made DMs a mutual only thing due to the fact people would DM us for stupid shit.)
Our co-host, Ula, is very uncomfortable with doubles of Draculaura. This is due to her narcissistic personality disorder. We understand that it may not be a choice, but we ask that others respect Ula's boundaries. Ula has exceptions but those are very rare. You're still free to interact but we request caution exercised around her.
Some of us are very controlling about how our fictionselves are portrayed, please keep that in mind! We are usually lax around other fictionfolk, though.
We are NOT anti kink. However one of our sysmates is hypersexual. We ask mutuals kindly to filter tag any kinky things for that reason.
Pearl and Ula don't tend to use tone tags, so please ask for clarification on their tone if it's needed! We're unsure why they don't use them.
The only ones who tend to sign off are Pearl and I (Yellow Pearl). If you need clarification on who's talking, please ask!
We have npd. We've done all the research we could and refuse to get professionally diagnosed. We're not in any financial state to get diagnosed and fear being discriminated against.
We try our best to stay out of discourse but we may end up posting about it at times. These things will be tagged with "#cw discourse" or "#tw discourse".

Kouda is autistic and mostly nonverbal. They're working to verbalize more often to make better use of their quirk, but in the mean time they primarily use sign language.
Whisp enjoys soft textures, picnics, and animals. Bloom can be found outside with their rabbit most of the time, taking it for walks.
Mezou Shouji (they/he)
Shouji is polyamorous, polysexual and non-binary. He is going out with Mina Ashido.
They are deaf in both ears, as their mutation made their mouth take up so much space that there wasn't room for them to form properly.

Xe has Hyper-Mobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and a type of arthritis.
Ne enjoys romance manga, fitness, and gardening. He can be found reading manga with Shouto Todoroki, working out with Eijirou Kirishima, or gardening with any of his peers. Of course, they often do these activities alone as well.
Fumikage Tokoyami (they/he/rose/thorn, thy/thou)
Tokoyami is omniromantic, asexual, and nonbinary. He's dating Kyouka Jirou and jokingly calls himself goth4goth (referencing the term tran4trans)
They are afraid of the dark, but have been working to overcome this issue to better their quirk.
Rose enjoys chess, horror films, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Thorn can be found giving tarot readings to thorn's classmates at least once a week. Thy also plays the guitar and can be found practicing on thou's personal guitar.

percy jackson headcanons + panel edits (long post, hcs under the cut. only grover, annabeth, and percy. i use the homestuck troll quadrants to describe their relationships)
in order: annabeth, percy, grover
some notes on their designs: they all have a lot more scars, grover’s mainly being on his legs from running through forests, annabeth’s mainly being on her sides (as she gets too cocky during fights and leaves them open on accident), and percy’s mainly being on her chest. annabeth and percy look really similar, but they’re not intended to be, just how picrew works ykyk. grover wears sunglasses and really baggy clothes to hide his goat features. percy is fem as hell and would prob love skirts, but i didnt really like any of them in the picrew.
percy
🐟 if you think hes cis, straight, or white ur crazy
🐟 on that note. Trans girl who uses she/he/bite, biromantic asexual but romance repulsed attraction to men due to trauma, and she’s latino, black, and libyan
🐟 i see people headcanon her name as persephone a lot and while i do love that to me shes parand and still goes by percy!
🐟 middle kid regressor, prob 7-13. i dont think bite would change much in terms of personality, besides maybe being louder due to lack of volume control
🐟 solarpunk, afropunk, hopepunk, and underseapunk for sure. she is an ACTIVIST!!! he, his siblings, his mom, and grover go to protests together im correct
🐟 fav bands: my chemical romance, pleasure venom, fea, meet me @ the altar, the tuts, and la armada. i dont listen to pierce the veil but maybe them too?
🐟 sharkhearted, aquatickin, and oceankin!
🐟 radicalized the rest of the 7, and while bite grew up with punk beliefs (ty sally), i think thalia was the one who gave her the final push ykyk?
🐟 he is NOT skinny and he does NOT have a 6 pack!! listen. most of bites exercise comes from combat and strength training. and typically, strength training (ESPECIALLY combat) doesnt focus heavily on bodybuilding. My girl is big and has muscles and is proud
🐟 collects comic books, legos, and video games! favorite comic run is napalm lullaby, doesnt have a favorite lego set but has a small ocean animals one she bought second hand that she pulls apart and puts together again for comfort, and she doesnt have a favorite video game but the one she replays the most is is sonic adventures 2! video games are his special interest (did i mention i hc him as autistic. Well that too. bite’s audhd dyslexic)
🐟 isnt dating annabeth anymore (in my perfect world). the two broke up and both are way happier and healthier as adults. i think that annabeth needed to be away from percy to get better, and percy COULDNT be better with annabeth.
🐟 (i do think theyd have the best femme&butch solidarity as friends once they are both ready to do so! just need time for healing and all, ykyk?)
🐟 jason is her ex-moirail and her auspitice for her and annabeth! jason stops them from entering an abusive pitch relationship. used to be clarrise’s kismesis, but broke it off to take a break from relationships (reason he broke off from being jason’s moirail)
annabeth
📘 i dont have many hcs for her because to me, shes a better character concept then character
📘 my girl is butch trust meeee. “oh shes so fem and percys strong fem gf” HER? HERR?? THAT ANNABETH? OUR ANNABETH?
📘 she/they demi-caedromantic butch lesbian demigirl. i think a lot of pjo characters like multiple genders in theory, but due to trauma, have lost most (or all) attraction to them. to me, she used to be interested in romance, but fell off from that after everything happened
📘 does NOT get good grades. I love her and i think shes actually smart because she likes to study, but like… my girl has dyslexia and adhd. and their mom is the goddess of WISDOM, not INTELLIGENCE. theres no way theyre getting all As and Bs
📘 afropunk and anarchopunk. shes not as active in local scenes due to them bouncing around (though their heart will always be in the punk scene in LA), but if theres a protest in her general area THEYRE GOING. i also think theyre riot grrrl but only after ending her relationship with percy and getting better as a person
📘 fav bands (during relationship, im not sure what she’d listen to post-percabeth): mel bryant & the mercy makers, the muslims, pat the bunny, mischief brew, big joanie, violent femmes, boygenius. i think she was largely influenced by grover and thalia, but starts really developing her own music taste when they settle down in their own life
📘 her hair is FUCKED UP. she tries to take good care of it!! they really do!! but after years of living in a camp with not a whole lot of access to supplies for their hair type, and then living on a BOAT with even LESS access, their hair is really damaged. all the seven have fucked up hair, but theirs especially, since they were under so much stress that she didn’t care much for upkeep.
📘 was radicalized to be anarchopunk and afropunk by thalia, but became riot grrrl thanks to piper’s influence
📘 not autistic (in the books, maybe the show). i personally dont see her as having many autistic traits (though they DEF have adhd traits and its insane people dont acknowledge that a lot). but yeah i just? cant see it? idk
📘 when they were dating percy they didnt realize they didnt actually have feelings and was just comphet. this led to a really unhealthy relationship. then by the time she realized the feelings had developed to just hate and they felt bad leaving. they eventually separated and she got a lot better
📘 away from dating for a while, but has a small, unrequited pale crush on piper
grover
🫐 GROVERRRRR guys hes one of my favs unironically
🫐 mixed african american-indian guy whos a t4t bisexual trans guy and uses he/him. “oh but all satyrs are male” yeah but also this is a book series that has been inaccurate about greek mythology since the beginning so shh
🫐 carries iron supplements with him because while he’s used to relying on hay and feed for iron, he can’t exactly do that disguised as a human
🫐 his handwriting is SHIT. i think most of his handwriting comes from signing himself up for things so that means he constantly looks like he’s signing his signature. only juniper can somewhat make it out and thats because hers is just as bad
🫐 solarpunk, afropunk, and hopepunk!!!! he is literally the og solarpunk trust me.
🫐 fav bands: punk on toast, earth 2 tiffany, tell everyone we’re dead, the tuts, be steadwell, zaphyria
🫐 age regresses to rlly young with no cg! he doesnt particularly want one either? hes just doing his own thing. percy is his playmate :)
🫐 not my headcanon but my friend says hed be really tenderheaded, like as in “can barely do his own hair without it hurting”. idk how accurate this is but i agree because my friend says so
🫐 used to get roped into the stoll’s pranks. he’d help them sneak onto the strawberry trucks, steal things, etc. eventually stopped as he got more anxious, but he and the stolls are still fairly close and he’ll still help them play pranks on occasion
🫐 fruits are his ultimate safe foods! strawberries, apples, whatever! he keeps a packet of fruit on him everywhere he goes for snacks
🫐 sees thalia, annabeth, and percy as his younger siblings. i think he deserves to be their proud older brother, as a treat <3. used to see luke as the same way, but not anymore for obvious reasons
🫐 juniper is her one and only matesprit!
