I wrote this in some tags, but does anyone else feel like snakes as a theme are a huge red herring. Snakes can represent trickery, so it wouldn't be surprising that Fromsoft used this imagery for misdirection. I think the GEQ is a red herring and ironically some people think she is a snake lady. And also that Eiglay/god devouring serpent is the base serpent.

quick shout-out to the god-devouring serpent/rykard’s boss theme for how in phase one when you assume it’s just the snake- who is suggested to be female- that you’re fighting, the primary vocals in the theme are female, and when rykard reveals himself for phase two, the primary vocals are then male

if draco could he would become just like rykard. allowing a snake to eat him whole in hopes that he’ll have a piece of immortality, to become one with the gods. but instead he was trapped as the face of a serpent bound to the desire to consume every soul he encounters. he will never be free from the pact he’s made with hunger. he hungers for flesh, he hungers for life, he hungers for freedom, something he’ll never get to hold in his hands as long as he’s alive. someone must kill him to release the curse, but even then is he truly ever free? maybe when his body is dead, someone will come along to consume it. they’ll take him in, every last bite until his soul is revived in another. his hunger will awake again and he will once again consume, begging that he’ll be free from this turmoil. he hopes he’ll be full soon
