REALLY LONG DUMB COMIC. It was based on a thing i did with my bf and then became really long winded. 😭 The lesson we learn here today is that Its okay to be cringe autistic and gay 🙏 This is like half projection so maybee its kind of ooc but its for comedic effect and this isnt meant to be a foray into character writing :p (my time for that will come tho🫶)

I dunno how helpful this'll be cuz I'm at the point where mapping things out in my head is second nature, so 'showing my work' is kinda hard lol,

but here are a few examples of my sketch process:

I start by blocking out the planes of the face and then usually just jump right into adding details (the liquify tool is your friend)

There isn't really an in-between phase, but I do have a lot of reference on hand, both of the character I'm drawing and of general face anatomy

Specifically, I find referencing the asaro head is really helpful for understanding the 3d planes of the face without getting bogged down in the little details. I personally have this one bookmarked bc it's also useful for lighting:

Also, also, why is it that Yoda straight-up says the Luke's anger reminds him of Anakin's in The Empire Strikes Back and the movie very subtly shows Luke's face under Vader's helmet and fandom just glosses straight over that and says that Luke is just like his mom, but Leia yells about a plan being dumb and likely to get everyone killed a few times, and suddenly she's got the same anger in her that turned Anakin evil for twenty-some years?
