love story
≡ᶻᶻ༄ synopsis: it’s your after-graduation high school party, your entire batch is here. love story by taylor swift starts playing and everyone, regardless of their cliques and previous histories, are arm-in-arm, shoulder-to-shoulder, screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs. some people are long gone wasted, barely able to keep their eyes open. others, like you, have had a drink or two, just enough to feel the electric buzz simmering beneath your consciousness. and others, like sunghoon, have the audacity to remain seated. in your tipsy state of confidence, you rush over to where they are and pull him to his feet, dragging him to the center of the crowd...
≡ᶻᶻ༄ genre: sunghoon x gn!reader || high school crush
≡ᶻᶻ༄ warnings: alcohol, tipsy kiss, not 100% proof-read
≡ᶻᶻ༄ word count: ~1.7k words
≡ᶻᶻ༄ a/n: BEEN A WHILE!! this was in the drafts collecting dust and spiderwebs but i'm feeling chancy. this is a strangely specific fic don't read into it too much
≡ᶻᶻ༄ disclaimer: this does not in any way shape or form represent the real people whose names are mentioned, this is just a kpoppie doing something fun :)
We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes and the flashback starts
I'm standin' there
On a balcony in summer air
See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns
See you make your way through the crowd
And say, "Hello"
Little did I know
Nobody in your high school batch would have expected their award-sweeping, model student, perfect attendance valedictorian to be fucking it up at the club four hours after throwing their caps in the air, and yet there you were. You were a great student, but now that you’d graduated and you weren’t going to be a student for the next three months, you were going to give yourself the freedom you deserved.
After the after party (held in school, with everyone’s parents around), a few of your batch mates had spontaneously planned an after-after party at a club nearby. Being invited to go, you decided—why the hell not? After four years of ceaseless working and model behavior to your batch mates and underclassmen, this was the final thing on your high school bucketlist. You had gone to parties before, you knew your alcoholic limits, but you’d never gone with this particular group of people. Who cared? You had no obligation to be the perfect student anymore. And, once you got home, there was no guarantee you’d ever see your fellow graduates ever again. You had chuckled to yourself getting into your friend’s car to head to the venue; why not give them a show?
So that’s how you ended up with your feet hurting, still wearing your fancy shoes for the ceremony, cocktail in hand, jumping with your friends and batch mates. You were a couple drinks in, not drunk enough to pass out and forget everything the next morning, but tipsy enough that you probably shouldn’t be making any life-altering decisions. You were about to go sit down at the table your group had reserved when Love Story by Taylor Swift came on. Your friends instantly dragged you back to the dance floor.
At this point in the evening, your group had split off to different parts of the room. But somehow, you all found each other in that crowded club for the song that ran in all your veins. Right next to the DJ, arms over shoulders, all of you singing, even you singing your heart out to the lyrics. Who knew a little alcohol was all it took to bring out the inner Swifties in all of you? To your right was the girl from your math class you’d talked to only once—but now you were laughing together with her arm around your neck as if you’d been close for years. In front of you, the popular group of guys you tended to avoid, were shouting the loudest and jumping the hardest to Ms. Taylor. You found they were a lot more courteous and watchful over your female batch mates in the public club than you thought them capable of. You scanned the circle of your highschool peers, realizing how close you’d all become, even if you’d sit on different sides of the canteen. You glanced back at your shared table and locked eyes with the one person sitting out the song—
You could deny it or change your answer as much as you could, but for the last two years you’d had the biggest crush on Park Sunghoon. What made it worse was you were friends for even longer. You weren’t super close, but you would say hi in the halls, tease each other about assignments, fail to get group projects submitted on time due to your bickering, and play online games together with a few other people. He had his own circle (two of which were standing in front of you now, drunkenly jumping along to Ms. Taylor’s banger chorus), and you had your own. You’d gone back and forth for years wondering if what you felt was romantic or not, the inner debate always ending with the conclusion that you were content as long as you were in his life, one way or another.
So I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet, 'cause we're dead if they knew
So close your eyes
Escape this town for a little while, oh oh
Well. You were both going to different countries for university now. Who knew if you’d even come back to this town for the breaks? Who could guarantee that you’d stay in touch and meet over the holidays? If you were no longer in his life, could you have lived with yourself?
You were tipsy enough to probably not be making life-altering decisions. But there you were.
“Y/n, where you going?” your friend asked as you pulled out of the circle.
“I’ll be right back,” you yelled back, gesturing to the table. They nodded you off as you made your way through the crowd.
—
You came to Sunghoon like a burst of light and laughter. He had been watching Jay and Jake make absolute fools of themselves, fresh highschool graduates in the center of a club at one in the morning. He’d caught your eye earlier, your brilliant, joyous smile framed against the dark of everyone’s silhouettes. You glowed. And now there you were in front of him.
“Hey,” you were breathless from fighting through the press of bodies. You crouched down so he could hear you. A few other of your batchmates were there, a couple too far gone to even stand, another tending to them. “You doing okay?”
Sunghoon held up his can of cola with a cheeky grin.
Before he knew it, you had pulled him to his feet and were dragging him to the dance floor. The song had reached its second chorus and the entire club—highschool graduates, college kids, weird guys way too young to be legally allowed in, actual weird creepy guys, and people off work on a Friday night—all jumped along to the song, as if they were all born with the lyrics of this song imprinted in their hearts.
You had both Sunghoon’s hands in yours as the two of you danced in the center of all your friends. Even in the multicolored lights he could tell your cheeks had an alcohol flush, but your eyes were clear and bright. Before he knew it, he was jumping along with you, ignoring the off-tune shouts of his friends. When he tagged along to their parties he was always the designated driver; the one to make sure everyone was okay and alive, but also the one sitting out on the side. He never felt the need to down a drink, and he felt enough of an energy surge just watching everyone sway and shout. People had tried to get him on his feet before, but for some reason, when you pulled him up to dance, he felt like he had been waiting all his life for that moment. Not that he’d ever admit that to anyone. You were just his friend—the one you said hi to sometimes, the one who knew his secret favorite song, the one he had a tiny crush on in middle school but not anymore. Obviously, not anymore.
Sunghoon felt like he was dreaming, spinning around in that circle of freshly minted high school graduates with both of your hands in his, the two of you jumping in unison. He couldn’t take his eyes off you, even if he wanted to.
“What?” he shouted, thinking you’d said something. Then you realized you were singing the lyrics of the bridge. To him.
Romeo, save me, I've been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for you, but you never come
Is this in my head? I don't know what to think
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring
—
You had no idea what you were doing. Did you really just drag Sunghoon up to dance? Were you really holding his hands right now? Were you really this close? You could see the colored lights in his eyes. His cat’s fang smile peaked out at you as you practically shouted in his face the bridge of the song.
And then Park Sunghoon was singing back. You had to be dreaming. Things like this never happened in real life. You’d dream of him holding your hand or kissing the top of your head, and then you’d wake up and go to school and you weren’t even able to hold his gaze. And now you somehow got him to stand up, hold your hands, and now he was singing with you and gazing into your eyes as if you were the only people in the room. You wanted to scream.
And said, "Marry me, Juliet
You'll never have to be alone
I love you and that's all I really know
I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby, just say, "Yes"
Before the song was over he was kissing you. You heard cheers around you, whether from the high of the song or because of the two of you; but you didn’t care.
—
Sunghoon didn’t care about the hoots and whistles. All there was was you. Your breath on his lips, slightly sweet from the alcohol, your arms around his neck. The song ended, but you were still there, pressed so close to him he felt weightless. Don’t let go. Sunghoon thought at you, circling an arm around your waist. Someone clapped his shoulder, but he brushed them off. All he cared about was this. You—right here, in his arms, with no space in between you.
When the next song started playing, another cheer went up around the club, and the bliss of the after-kiss was left sacred to the two of you. Your forehead was still pressed against his, your fingers playing with the back of his head, sending chills down his spine.
“Wanna get out of here?” You said to him. You were so close he could hear you even over the booming bass and whirls of lights.
“Thought you’d never ask,” Sunghoon reached for your hand at his neck and tugged you towards the exit.

i think it’s okay that most of the characters say the r slur because 90% percent of them are super autistic, especially karkat
nobody is as autistic about troll romance as karkat and i appreciate that deeply
.
#homestuck#homestuck confession#of note most characters stopped saying it over time as part of their character growth#except cronus and caliborn#who everyone can agree are asshats#fun fact: all bans that ever happened on the mspa forums have been preserved on the wayback machine#and at one point someone was banned for shouting slurs all over the forum and tried to use caliborn as an excuse#the ban reason said something along the lines of#'Caliborn is not meant to be a role model'#mod commentary

actually On Your Feet gave us two good things (well. three if you like Realize which I do). Kohane's "it's frustrating" line and the great crack fic idea of Vivid Bad Squad getting cancelled online for skipping school to yell at The Kotaki Taiga as he was about to go back to America.
#no because. he went there to continue radder's dream yeah? the one about becoming world successful musicians#and they had a record label for a bit. they were definitely going to make it at least somewhat.#so we can assume taiga is at the very least a semi well known musician yeah?#one that someone about to either leave or enter japan might know about. who will see this musician they enjoy#being shouted at by a high school girl in her school uniform about how they will surpass him or something along those lines#with three other kids (in uniform from a different school) standing behind her#and then going onto sekai universe twitter to post about it and the taiga kotaki fans taking it by storm#taiga gets off the plane in america and finds he's trending and it's because people are making fun of a blurry picture of his ex pupil#meanwhile vivid bad squad just don't know because it was contained entirely on twitter and.#be honest can you see any of them having twitter because i can't. an maybe but akito doesn't have time for social media and toya is toya#and kohane is a tumblr girlie if i've ever seen one#however it does give the great concept of someone else seeing it and debating if they should say anything#because mmj definitely has an official account they could have seen it on and also there's ena shinonome and mizuki akiyama#but anyway this also means when they do put on the event to surpass rad weekend (or whatever their goal ends up being)#there will be a crowd of people looking at it and going “isn't that the group of kids that twitter made fun of ages ago?”#and then taiga kotaki stans on sekai universe twitter will be stunned because they did in fact surpass him#if it wasn't for the gcses i would write this but alas. enjoy my weird thoughts#bagel's rambles#project sekai#i am scared to main tag this one but. fuck it we ball

All the tour groups in Springfield should be very proud of me for how well I refrained from sharing all my fascinating Lincoln facts.
#there were so many school groups!#a giant one came in RIGHT AFTER i entered lincoln's cabinet room#part of me was screaming 'children i NEED to tell you about all these idiots and their insane drama!'#a smarter part of me understood that would be super weird#so instead i regaled different individuals of my own traveling party after we had the room to ourselves#then at lincoln's tomb we lucked out in getting there during the ten minutes of the day when school groups weren't there#which meant we got a personal tour from a guide who seemed thrilled to have grown-ups to talk to#he and my dad chatted about fishing for a long while in the entry#it didn't feel disrespectful because it totally felt like the kind of conversation lincoln would have understood and joined in on#and then we went on our way but the guide then chased us down to share all the fascinating lincoln stories as we went along#(shout-out to lefty you were great)#and then a school group found us so we made a graceful exit#but outside a teacher was explaining to a different group about how robert was significant in his own right so he's buried at arlington#and the RESTRAINT i showed in not immediately informing them that he was present at three presidential assassinations! it was rather heroic#and then when we toured lincoln's house the guide (who accidentally made it clear he was a revolutionary war buff)#(which made it a bit hilarious he was stuck with lincoln)#asked for questions before we started and someone asked about lincoln's 1860 election campaign!#aka one of my SPECIAL NICHE AREAS OF OBSESSION!#you cannot imagine how desperately i wanted to tell him ALL ABOUT seward and thurlow weed#anyway it was fun to go back now that i actually know stuff about lincoln#but it was also a bit frustrating because now i know how much they leave out#(though there was cool new info and artifacts)#(the blood-stained piece of laura keene's dress was very morbid and very cool)#also it reminded me that i still have that book on the 1860 election i've yet to read and the hype is so real#presidential talk

Wrote a little prompt fic courtesy of @bg3wips flowers prompt list on twt. I can't remember the first time Xa'rok used Dissonant Whispers, and their signature weapon came later, but the first time they used the illithid powers was memorable, relevant, and came with a fun interaction perk, so.
Thistle - the first time they used their signature weapon or spell.
The din of unsheathed weaponry rings around them in a cascade of echoes. Goblins shift on their feet as bowstrings creak with impatient tension. One of the goblins spits, loud and wet, and the glob of it lands just shy of Karlach's fur-lined boot.
“Prick,” she mutters before burying her fist into the abdomen of the troll that towers to her right.
The troll looks caught off guard, either by the attack connecting or the fact that it actually felt the blow, but it doesn't have time to ponder the discrepancy further before Karlach whoops and follows that strike up with another, the air around her fists crackling in her wake.
Xa'rok spares a seconds-long glance at the staggering troll before their eyes fix on the maelstrom of goblins thickly clustered in the center of camp. They are no natural-born tactician, but they are gith. In the end, it amounts to one and the same.
They take stock of their enemies in increments, grouping the threats by severity, weapon, and proximity. They can see the tell-tale regalia of the goblin priesthood peeking out from the doorway of a rampart wall. And the two humans they met in the woods north of the Grove, the ones who first called them True Soul.
The parasite squirms in Xa'rok's skull. Something sparks to life behind their eyes and they blink as the feeling washes over them. Power.
One of the goblins in the cluster at the center of camp shifts on his crouched haunches, the crossbow in his hands aimed with deadly accuracy. Xa'rok takes one feinted step forward and calls upon the pulse of magic in their blood, blurring out of existence at the front steps and re-appearing at the epicenter of the crowd, hand already reaching for their sword.
But by the time they materialize the squirming in their skull has become a buzzing that filters down into their sword arm, and as they bring both hands to their face to shake it free, Xa'rok finds a new course of action: for their vision has gone dark around the edges, blurred as if they are still in between one place and the next. Their feet have left the ground, and the buzzing has become a hum, a wellspring, a gaping hungry maw. The only thing restraining it is their own will.
Once realized, they let it go.
Reality shifts. A blip in their vision. An expulsion of force with the ring of psionic detonation. It tears through their mind and out.
The goblins drop around them like flies. Bryanna and Andrick stare in twin horror until their eyes go blank, and they, too, collapse into the shadow of their rampart hideaway.
A pleased, honeyed voice sluices through Xa'rok's slowly-reconnecting thoughts. Good. Again.
#BG3WIPS#tav#githyanki tav#tav: xa'rok#my writing#prompts#true to githyanki form to discover a new kink in the midst of battle#but also: what a fucking introduction to the fun of these powers. goblin camp who? they wiped 80% of them in one action+bonus action combo#I love you misty step the light of my life misty step#repulsor is a close runner up I still make frequent use of it even nearing the endgame#hard to beat an aoe expulsion attack that's basically shouting FUCK OFF really loud in psionic#sorry for all the friendly fire damage my party has sustained along the way#this is why Xa'rok has access to (3) misty steps#also of relevance: karlach is an open-hand monk and alert means she's always up first in combat. xa'rok generally ends up following her.

Today is my birthday and I get to be "Queen" for the day as is our tradition in our family. I've chosen to try to rewatch all of Sanditon season 2 & 3 in one day and it's been really fun! My husband and son haven't seen it before now but they're really enjoying it. We've just finished the first episode of season 3 (when *spoiler* crashes the party) and my son just threw up his arms, exasperated, and said "Sometimes I just wish these ladies would kick these guys in the balls because they deserve it!"
#I'm laughing so hard#this has been so fun#we've shouted at the tv several times together#and dance along to the closing credits every episode#Sanditon

I think it’s so funny that when you had romantic attraction described you you were like “that sounds really fun” but when it’s described to me I’m like “that sounds really unpleasant I’m glad I don’t experience that”. Duality of aro 💚
YEAH
Like with the way people described it to me I was confused almost the whole time because just, "what do you mean? That doesn't actually happen that sounds like every romance plot and we all know those are just to sell movies and stuff."
But no it kinda does and it took me way to long to realize that people weren't just having "Movie romances" they were just experiencing romantic attraction.
#They weren't kidding with 'you just know' because you're right gang. And I don't know what the fuck you're talking about <3#shout out to when people started explaining things to me about dating and dates and i'm like#''Okay but that stuff is also fun to do with friends so romantic attraction is clearly the friend you want to do that with the most''#like no#no there's feelings that go along with that#my one bud was describing their crushes like the other day and I went#''Oh right you get those'' ''Yes Runey. I know you're Aro."

you parents constantly telling u the shit that you've been trying to unlearn surely is smth
#my mum is very “tough it out” its all in your head meditate and never experience and emotional reaction this way. make rules for yourselfetc#shes the bhuddist equivalent of a bible quotes spewing christian basically. n its cool i know how to control my emotions and shit now but#thats my problem lmaooo. it took me counseling to learn how to feel emotions and im still not nailing it most times#also i used to be so strict about rules i made for myself like “u have to brish ur teeth before bed” that i would stay up until 4am not doi#anything because i was too tired to get up and go brush them until i passed out from exhaustion#unlearning that was very good for me right#mothers undiagnosed adhd most likely lmao and is just constantly teachibg me all the coping skills she developed#and its so fun cuz she just always tells me stuff she struggled with and im like mother youve been telling me this since i was born i GOT I#funnily enough i use all the meditation and bhuddist shit when talking to her specifically#every conversation is me going ok.. deep breath. think from her perspective. calmly explain and address. its not personal. getting agitated#would resolve nothing#and thats fascinating cuz when i moved out i was like oh you people dont receive the training of a bhuddist monk by age 5??#i had a roomate who i didnt get along with sadly who was the complete opposite and had learned to communicate via shouting and confrontatio#like thats literally how she communicated n i had such a hard time saying anything to her cuz id learnt to just go meditate till feeling go#away before talking to someone#like i never saw my parents shout at each other or argue in my life. they usually retired themselves from the situation#when i explained this shit to someone they were like “lucky u my parents fought all the time” my brother in christ youre not hearing me#you can be unhealthy in different ways.#my conclusion now is my mums a cool person just totally clueless on how to raise a child#like i remember feeling very unheard and bad about her becayse literally every sentence out of her mouth is a life lesson#and even if u catch her in a genuine social interaction with u she quickly corrects herself and brings the life wisdom back in#and even if she agrees with you shell go in a ten minute tangent because she wanted to talk about bhuddha when literally there was no point#fuck as a kid with adhd i remember it being torture#now i learnt how to deal with it better but good christ#and yeah just had to tell this to someone because i have the patience of a saint and its not being recognised#like even my cousin is always like you know how ur mom is cuz being lectured 24/7 is exhausting#and fr everytime i talk to her i have to be like “ok. now remind her subtly that you are a human being”#lmaoo#readme.txt

Husband?
About: How does he react when you accidentally call him your 'husband'? Pairing: Reader x Xavier, Zayne, Rafayel, Sylus (Seperate) Note: Reader and the men are in a relationship. My inbox is open for prompts and requests :)
RAFAYEL
The evening was going smoother than expected, considering Rafayel had dragged you along to one of his many gallery showings. He had made a big deal about how you should be the one showing off his work to the public, claiming he didn’t want to deal with the “art-snobs." Yet, the second you both arrived, he quickly preoccupied himself on his phone, leaving you to handle most of the small talk.
One of the visitors, a curious older woman, was admiring a painting of his, a chaotic burst of color with soft hints of golden light. You were discussing Rafayel’s "creative process" (whatever that was—he hadn't told you much before retreating to his phone), when she asked how long you’d been working with him.
“Oh, it’s been a while now. It’s honestly amazing seeing him grow like this—my husb—” You froze mid-sentence, realizing the slip just as it left your mouth.
"Husband?"
The word hung in the air for barely a second before you felt Rafayel’s presence shift. His head shot up like a bolt of lightning, his playful, cunning eyes locking onto yours. You could practically feel his grin before you even dared to glance over. You didn’t even need to turn around to feel his gaze burning into you, practically shouting, Oh? Husband, you say?
“Husband, huh?” Rafayel drawled, pocketing his phone and sauntering toward you with that signature smirk of his. “I didn’t realize we were making things official tonight. If I’d known, I’d have worn something even more dazzling.”
You flushed, attempting to stammer out a correction, but he was far too pleased to let you off the hook that easily. He leaned casually against the gallery wall, one arm crossing his chest as he dramatically placed a hand over his heart.
He gently took your hand in his, his dramatic flair dialed up to maximum as he pressed an exaggerated kiss to your knuckles, clearly relishing the moment. "I mean, I can’t say I’m surprised. Who wouldn’t want to marry someone as charming as me?"
The visitor chuckled awkwardly, clearly not sure whether to stay or go, but Rafayel was already having way too much fun. “Of course, as your loving husband,” he continued, drawing out the word in a singsong voice, “it’s only fitting that I’m showered with even more attention now, isn’t it? I expect lots of praise, darling. I mean, just look at me." He struck a faux thought-provoking pose, tilting his head and flipping a lock of his perfectly tousled hair.
You felt your cheeks burn with embarrassment, but at the same time, his antics made you laugh. “I didn’t mean to—"
"Oh no, no,” he interrupted, wagging his finger playfully. “You can’t take it back now. The word’s out, Miss Bodyguard. You’ve called me your husband. That means you’re stuck with me. Forever.” There was a mischievous glint in his eyes as he leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a teasing whisper. “Does this mean I get to cheat at board games forever too?”
You groaned, rolling your eyes as you playfully swatted at his shoulder. “As if you needed a reason to cheat more!”
Rafayel laughed, that familiar bratty grin plastered across his face. “Well, if I’m your husband now, I think it’s only fair I get first dibs on everything. Cards, claw machines—oh, and don’t forget, I demand the comfiest seat when we binge-watch our shows.”
Despite his teasing, the warmth in his eyes made your heart skip a beat. You could see the genuine delight he took in your slip-up, how pleased he was at the thought, even if he’d never admit it outright.
“Fine, fine,” you sighed dramatically, playing along. “But don’t expect me to let you win at everything, ‘husband.’”
Rafayel beamed, and for a moment, that bratty, carefree mask of his slipped, just a little. He tugged you closer, his voice softening as he murmured, “Deal.” Then, just as quickly, he switched back to his usual, cheeky self. “Now, let’s go, wife. You’re required to be by my side while I survive this boring night. ”
Shaking your head, you laughed, unable to hide the smile creeping onto your lips. “You’re impossible.”
The woman, watching the scene unfold with a warm smile, laughed. “You two make quite the pair.”
“Oh, we do, don’t we?” Rafayel quipped before lowering his voice just enough for only you to hear, leaning in ever so slightly. “You’ve really outdone yourself, calling me that in front of witnesses. Now they’ll all expect a wedding invitation.”
Your face burned as you tried to shush him, but he was loving every second of it. He tilted his head, his hair catching the light as his smile softened into something more genuine, the bratty exterior fading just a bit. “Still… I can’t say I hate the sound of it,” he murmured, brushing a finger lightly under your chin before pulling back with a playful wink. “I might just get used to hearing it.”
You could only manage a huff of exasperation, but deep down, you couldn’t help but feel a flutter at the way his teasing had just a hint of sincerity behind it.
Rafayel, always dramatic, and yet somehow, just when you least expected it, a little bit sweet.
ZAYNE
You and Zayne were in the middle of your usual weekly grocery run, efficiently dividing and conquering your list to save time. He’d taken off towards the produce section while you headed for the rice aisle. As you browsed the different varieties, a middle-aged man beside you struggled with lifting a heavy bag of rice.
"Need a hand?" you asked, stepping in to help. The man smiled gratefully as you hoisted the bag into his cart with ease.
"Thank you, young lady," he said, rubbing his wrist. "My arthritis is flaring up today. Getting old’s no fun."
You offered him a sympathetic smile. “No problem at all. My husband’s a doctor, actually. I’m sure he’d tell you to take it easy on that wrist."
The man nodded in agreement, offering you one last thanks before heading off. You turned back to your cart, completely unaware of the word you had just let slip—husband—or the fact that Zayne had returned in time to hear it.
You felt him step up behind you, his presence calm yet undeniably magnetic. When you finally glanced over, he was standing there, hands in his pockets, a small, amused smile playing at the corner of his lips.
"Husband, hmm?" he said softly, his tone more curious than teasing. "That's... new."
You froze for a second, eyes widening as you realized what you’d said. You opened your mouth, the words tripping over each other in a rush. “I didn’t— I mean, it just—slipped out. We’re not actually—I mean, obviously, we’re not—” You could feel the heat creeping up your neck, and no amount of backpedaling was helping.
Zayne didn’t seem in a rush to let you off the hook. His hand found yours, fingers intertwining with an ease that made your heart stutter. “You know,” he said, voice as calm as ever, “if this is your way of bringing it up, there are smoother ways to do it.” His teasing was subtle, barely perceptible if you didn’t know him well, but it was there in the gentle tug of his smile.
You groaned, pressing a hand to your forehead. “Zayne, I didn’t mean to—”
But Zayne, ever level-headed, merely took your hand in his, his thumb gently brushing against your knuckles. “Relax,” he said, his voice low and soothing. “It’s not like I mind the idea.”
Your heart skipped a beat at that, and you looked up at him in surprise. There was a softness in his usually stoic gaze, the kind that made your stomach flip. He continued, his voice measured but affectionate, “Seems like the next logical step, doesn’t it? My parents have been asking me when I’m going to take that step with you for a while now.”
His calm tone made the statement feel both casual and monumental at the same time. “Wait, your parents…?” you started, blinking as your brain processed this new information.
“Mhm,” Zayne replied, still holding your hand as though it was the most natural thing in the world. “They’ve been pretty vocal about it, actually. But I’ve been waiting for the right moment.”
The right moment. Those words hung in the air, and you could feel the weight of what he was saying. He was serious—calm and casual, as always, but serious. Your breath caught, and for a moment, the world around you seemed to fade into the background. It was just you and Zayne in that grocery aisle, hands linked, talking about a future you hadn’t even realized you both wanted.
“Only if you wanted to, of course,” he added, his thumb still tracing soft circles on your hand. “I wouldn’t do anything unless we both agreed.”
You stared at him, a smile slowly spreading across your face despite the initial shock. “You’re really suggesting this now? In the middle of a grocery store?”
Zayne smirked, his usual pragmatic self. “Well, we’re already talking about it. Might as well make use of the time.” He glanced down at your joined hands, his tone softening again. “Besides, I think it’s worth discussing what our future looks like, don’t you?”
Your heart swelled at his words, and the warmth of his hand in yours was enough to make you feel grounded, no matter how your emotions were spinning. “Yeah,” you said, smiling as you squeezed his hand gently. “I think it’s definitely worth talking about.”
Zayne leaned in closer, his lips brushing your temple in a rare public display of affection. “Good,” he murmured, his voice filled with a quiet kind of affection that made your chest tighten. “We’ll talk more later.”
He pulled away just as smoothly, picking up the cart with a practiced ease, as though he hadn’t just suggested the two of you start planning your future together. His eyes twinkled, a subtle tease hiding behind that usual calm exterior of his.
“And for the record,” he added, as the two of you moved on to the next aisle, “I wouldn’t mind hearing you call me ‘husband’ again.”
Your cheeks heated again, but this time, you didn’t bother trying to hide your smile. “Guess you’ll have to earn it first, doctor.”
Zayne chuckled softly, that familiar, grounded confidence in his voice. “I’ll be sure to work on that.”
SYLUS
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c8bc665b9c81efcc6007673b57ee6169/0d1ee3f9665333dc-36/s540x810/d918a2ad2952bec60840f78f96b7489548007f23.jpg)
The desert sun was relentless, and you could feel its heat pressing down on you as you stood beside Sylus, waiting to be seated inside the restaurant. He had dragged you out of Linkon on one of his mysterious ventures—no explanation, no warning, just the two of you thrust into the desert with little more than his cryptic directions. And while Sylus might have thrived in the N109 Zone's shadowy world, he was decidedly out of place here in the glaring sunlight, already starting to show hints of discomfort.
You glanced over at him, squinting slightly under the bright light. His expression was carefully controlled as always, but you noticed how his hand twitched subtly as if annoyed by the heat. The two of you had been waiting to be seated inside for a while now, and you decided it was time to speed things up.
Catching the attention of a passing waitress, you waved her over, putting on your best expression of concern. “Excuse me, my husband and I were hoping to be seated inside. I’m feeling a little faint under the harsh sun,” you said smoothly, the lie of you feeling faint rolling off your tongue with ease.
The word husband had slipped out so naturally, you didn’t even realize your mistake until the waitress nodded sympathetically and promised to get you a table indoors right away. As she walked off, you felt a cold gaze slide over you, and you turned to see Sylus staring down at you, one brow raised, a slow, dangerous smile creeping across his face.
“Husband?” His voice was smooth, but there was a teasing lilt beneath it. “Did I miss a wedding, wife?”
Your breath caught in your throat. "Wait—no, I didn't mean—" You started to stammer, heat rising to your cheeks, but before you could backtrack any further, Sylus’ arm slid around your waist, pulling you closer to his side. His grip was firm, possessive, and you could feel the smug amusement radiating off of him.
“I like the sound of that,” he murmured, leaning in just close enough for you to catch the scent of the desert air still clinging to his clothes. His lips ghosted near your ear, his voice dropping to a near-whisper. “Maybe this is a sign I should make it official.”
You swallowed hard, heart racing as you tried to keep your composure. “Official?” you echoed, your voice coming out a little more breathless than you intended. “What—what are you talking about?”
Sylus’ smirk widened, his amber eyes gleaming in the sun. “Oh? Cat got your tongue, Sweetie?” he teased, his tone dripping with amusement as he let his fingers trace a light circle on your hip. “You seemed so sure a moment ago, wife. But now? Speechless.”
You blinked, trying to gather your wits, but the sheer cockiness in his tone was making it hard to think straight. “I…I was just…helping us get a table,” you protested weakly, trying to pull away from his grip, but his hold only tightened.
“Oh, I’m sure you were,” he drawled, clearly reveling in your flustered state. “But now that you’ve set the bar so high, don’t tell me you’re going to back out on me. After all, you made quite the declaration back there.”
“I wasn’t—” You huffed, narrowing your eyes at him as you regained a sliver of your usual confidence. “You know it was a slip-up, Sylus. Don’t start getting ideas.”
He chuckled darkly, the sound sending a shiver down your spine. “Ideas? Sweetie, I live for ideas.” His grip loosened just enough to let you step back, but the way he looked at you made it clear he wasn’t about to let you wriggle out of this one easily. “But let’s be honest, you didn’t hate it. Calling me your husband.”
Your face flushed again, but this time, you managed to meet his gaze without faltering. “I didn’t hate it,” you admitted, folding your arms, “but don’t go thinking you’ve won. I’m not about to sign any papers just because you liked hearing it.”
Sylus tilted his head, the playful smile never leaving his lips. “We’ll see about that, kitten” he said, the threat—or promise—hanging in the air between you as the waitress returned to guide you inside.
You rolled your eyes, trying to ignore the butterflies in your stomach. “Please, Sylus. You couldn’t handle being married to me.”
He raised an eyebrow, leaning in with that infuriating smirk. “Oh, I think I could handle you just fine, sweetheart. You’re the one who might need to keep up.”
You shot back, “Keep up? I’d be carrying you the whole way.”
“Careful, Sweetie. That sounds an awful lot like a challenge.” He chuckled, his hand brushing against yours again. “Now that’s a tempting thought.”
“Tempting? Try exhausting,” you quipped.
As you walked beside him, you felt his arm brush against yours, and the sensation lingered far longer than it should have. Sylus, of course, said nothing, though the smug expression never quite left his face.
This was clearly far from over. And judging by the glint in his eye, Sylus was going to make sure you never forgot your little slip-up.
XAVIER
The café was quiet, filled with the soft murmur of patrons and the comforting smell of fresh pastries. You and Xavier had settled in for a peaceful afternoon, your table already adorned with a delightful array of treats. He had requested a simple drink—no whipped cream. The barista returned, placing his drink in front of him with an impressive mountain of whipped cream on top. Xavier, as calm and indifferent as ever, simply blinked at it, showing no signs of complaint. He wasn’t going to say a word about it, but that didn’t mean you were going to let it slide.
Excusing yourself, you raised a hand and called over a passing staff member. “Excuse me,” you began, with a polite smile. “My husband asked for no whipped cream on his drink, but it looks like there’s some here by mistake. Would it be alright for us to get it changed?”
The words tumbled out so smoothly that you didn’t even realize your slip-up until the staff member nodded apologetically and hurried back to fix the order. It was only when you turned back around that you saw Xavier sitting there, looking unusually... stunned.
He was blinking slowly at you, his expression softened by a hint of confusion and—was that amusement? “Husband?” he repeated, his soft voice barely more than a murmur.
Your face flushed as you fumbled for an explanation. “Oh, no, wait—! I didn’t mean—” You stammered, desperately trying to backtrack. “That just slipped out! I meant to say…uh my boyfriend? Partner? Date? Not—well, not husband, obviously…”
Xavier continued to blink, his face now showing just a little more expression than usual. The faintest curl of a smile played on his lips, and he tilted his head, considering your words. “I must’ve missed that chapter in the 'Guide to a Healthy Relationship,'” he said in that calm, unruffled way of his. “I didn’t know we’d moved on to the husband-and-wife stage.”
You groaned inwardly, burying your face in your hands. “I swear, it was an accident. Just ignore what I said.”
But Xavier was clearly in no mood to let it go. “So, dear wife,” he continued, completely unfazed by your protests, “do you think we’ll have matching mugs in our future? Maybe get a nice house, with a small garden and a picket fence?”
You shot him a playful glare, but the way he was looking at you made it impossible to stay annoyed. “Very funny,” you muttered, though your lips were twitching at the corners, betraying your amusement.
“I think it has a nice ring to it,” Xavier said, leaning back in his chair, clearly enjoying this far more than you expected. “I wonder how long it would take for people in the association to start sending us wedding gifts. Or perhaps they'd just send weapons... you know, as a gesture of goodwill.”
You couldn’t help but laugh. “I don’t think wedding gifts are really their style, Xavier.”
“Hmm, you’re probably right,” he said thoughtfully, then leaned in slightly, lowering his voice conspiratorially. “But you did call me your husband in public. Shouldn’t we at least play the part now?”
Your cheeks were burning, but you couldn’t resist playing along with his ridiculousness. “Fine,” you said, crossing your arms and raising an eyebrow. “But just so you know, dear husband, you’ll be the one doing the dishes.”
Xavier chuckled softly, the sound rare and surprisingly warm. “As long as you take care of meals. A fair trade.”
You were about to retort when the waitress returned with Xavier’s newly corrected drink—this time, free of whipped cream. She set it down with a smile, glancing between the two of you as if she’d picked up on the playful atmosphere. “Here you go,” she said. “No whipped cream this time, sir.”
Xavier’s eyes glinted as he thanked her with a nod, and after she left, he looked back at you with a satisfied expression. “See? Husband perks,” he teased, taking a sip of his drink.
You rolled your eyes, but you couldn’t hide the smile spreading across your face. “You’re an idiot.”
“And you’re adorable when you’re flustered,” he said, the teasing lilt in his voice gentler now. He took your hand under the table, his thumb brushing over your knuckles. “But... thank you,” he added after a beat, his voice softer and more sincere. “For speaking up for me.”
You blinked at him, momentarily thrown off by the gratitude in his tone. “Of course,” you said, squeezing his hand in return. “That’s what wives do, right?”
Xavier let out a soft laugh. “I suppose so,” he murmured, his lips quirking into a rare, genuine smile that made your heart skip a beat.
In that moment, with his hand in yours and the gentle teasing in the air, it was easy to forget the world outside the café. Just the two of you, playing pretend—but maybe, just maybe, something more.

WE'RE OKAY || kang dae-ho
pairing: Kang Dae-ho x f!reader summary: Things go wrong during the third game word count: 2.1k warnings: mingle game, character death, blood, squid game stuff A/N: this man is the only thing in my head rn. posted this before when tags weren't updating so reposting now. also this is only sorta proofread so if you see any mistakes no you didn't <3 **this is sorta a p2 to "a welcome distraction" but can be read as standalone**
We will go hand in hand
And have fun jumping around
Round and round
The platform stops turning suddenly, and you grab onto Dae-ho to stop yourself from falling over.
"Eleven"
You and Dae-ho lock eyes for a split second before you both start looking around for more players. Together you were six, meaning you needed four more.
Gi-hun turns to a player behind him. "How many are you?"
"Four," the woman replies.
"That makes us ten!" Jung-bae whimpers.
A man from another group comes running over. "Are you five? We need five!"
Before any of you can answer, another player yells back. "We have five people! Come with us!"
The two groups go running off towards a door.
"We have to hurry!" Gi-hun says.
"There's no time, Gi-hun!" Young-il tells him.
"We need one more!" the tall woman yells. She spots someone by herself near the center of the platform and grabs her. "We have eleven now!"
"To the green door over there! Hurry!" Young-il yells, already running off in the direction of the door.
Before you know what's happening, Dae-ho grabs you and pulls you along after him. You rush after him into the room, pushing yourself against the wall to make room for everyone else to get inside. You look up at the man next to you before turning your head towards the beeping sound coming from the back of the room. The clock runs out, and the lock clicks on the door.
You breathe out a sigh of relief that you made it in time, but jump and yelp when you hear the screams coming from outside the door, along with the gunshots. Looking towards the door, you watch Gi-hun's reactions as he watches the people outside. The sounds of gunshots are soon replaced with the sounds of the forklifts coming in with the coffins.
Your heart begins to race. If Dae-ho had not taken you back to his friends and added you to his team, you surely would be one of those bodies out there. You look up at Dae-ho to see him already looking down at you. He saved your life.
Dae-ho looks you over to make sure you're okay before you both look around at the others in the room with you. You smile a bit when you see the nice lady and her son with you, as well as players 120 and 095. You had watched them during the six-legged race and watching them cross the finish line had filled you with hope that you could do it too.
"You're alive thanks to me!" a voice yells from inside your room, making you and everyone else jump. You turn and see the creepy lady standing in the middle of the green room, looking you all over one by one. She speaks to Gi-hun, making everyone look at each other with a mix of fear and confusion. This lady doesn't seem to understand that it is not the time for this.
The eliminated players are announced and you are let out of the rooms. The floors are already covered in blood. Red is splattered all over the walls as a morbid reminder of what will happen to you if you lose.
Everyone steps onto the platform and it starts moving again as the music starts up. Looking around, you see that weird purple-haired guy and his friend dancing together. You don't know whether to smile that people can find happiness even in a moment like this, or to be horrified that they can dance in the blood of all those people.
The platform stops again and you are shot back into the game.
"Four"
Your team looks around at each other. Just as you're about to volunteer to find others, Young-il and Jung-bae separate, shouting about needing two more people.
The rest of you run towards an open room with a purple door, taking deep breaths. Gi-hun keeps the door open and looks outside to make sure that the others found another room in time. Right before time runs out, Dae-ho pulls Gi-hun into the room and closes the door, hearing the lock turn immediately after.
The room is tense with none of you knowing whether your friends made it in time. You look at Dae-ho, seeing the worry on his face, and gently take his hand. He looks towards you and squeezes your hand, not letting go even when the doors unlock and you are let out.
Dae-ho starts yelling for Young-il and Jung-bae before a voice calling Gi-hun's name grabs your attention. You look over with relief to see that both of them are alive.
Young-il turns to Jun-hee, asking her if she is alright.
"Wait a minute," Young-il says, "if the next number is seven, we won't need anyone else, will we?"
You all smile as you understand what he's saying, and Jun-hee holds her swelling stomach, a warm smile on her face.
The number for the next round is three, making it easy for your team to split up into two groups and get into rooms with time to spare. You nearly cry as the mother and son are reunited after the round ends, and Dae-ho pulls you towards him, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and rubbing his hand up and down your arm.
Your team grows after that, quietly adding the old lady and her son and players 120 and 095.
The platform starts to spin again as the next round starts.
"I hate this fucking song," you mumble under your breath.
The platform stops as the voice announces the next group size.
"Seven"
"Two men and five women! Go!" Gi-hun yells to the team.
"Which two men?" Jung-bae asks.
"I'm going with my mom!" Yong-sik says, holding onto his mother tightly.
Dae-ho holds up your joined hands. "I'm coming." You're dragged in the direction of the group as you run along. Dae-ho opens an orange door, but stops seeing that it's full.
The old man from before pushes Dae-ho out of the doorway before shutting the door. You keep Dae-ho from falling and instead pull him in the direction of an open room that player 120 found. As you run, you can hear the voice counting down. You make it with just a few seconds to spare.
You sigh in relief, but freeze once you turn around. Instead of two men and five women, the room contains two men and four women. Player 120 is standing near the door, ready to run outside when a man pushes her into the room and closes the door just in time for them to lock.
The crying eyes of player 095 look through the slot in the door.
"Young-mi!" Player 120 screams, running towards the door and desperately trying to open it.
The girl outside continues crying until a gunshot is heard and she slides down the door.
Player 120 screams as the woman cries with her son over their lost friend. Dae-ho pulls you close to him as player 120 starts screaming at the man who came in. As sad as his is to see the girl die, he's relieved that it wasn't you out there looking at him through the slot.
The doors unlock and you walk out silently. The others smile when they find you, but immediately notice the missing girl and frown. Without a word, you all step up onto the platform once more as the voice announces that this will be the last round and the music starts up again.
"What do you think it'll be this time?" Jung-bae asks Gi-hun.
"Two," Young-il answers, getting our attention.
"Why?"
"There are 126 people left, and there are 50 rooms. So there won't be enough rooms for everyone, only 100."
You and Dae-ho look at each other. He tightens his grip on your hand, silently telling you that he will bring be with you. You nod at him and get ready to run.
"Two"
Everyone immediately starts running towards the doors in a mad sprint. You stay with Dae-ho, keeping your hands together so you don't get separated.
Dae-ho opens a red door, but you're pushed aside before you can get in with him. You look up as another man pushes inside the room and closes him and Dae-ho in.
Fear like you've never known before takes over your body. You're about to die. Dae-ho can be heard inside the room, screaming your name and trying to open the door, but the man keeps him from getting out. The voice starts to count down from ten. As you accept you're fate, a pair of hands grab you and drag you into a yellow room, throwing you in before throwing the lone person inside out and closing the door.
You gasp for air as you pull yourself off the floor, staying on your hands and knees as you try to get a grasp of what just happened. Someone had saved your life.
Turning to see who your savior is, your eyes grow wide when you read the '246' on his chest.
He kneels beside you, putting a hand on your shoulder. "Are you alright?"
You nod frantically. "Thanks to you."
The gunshots begin outside and you throw your arms around the man in front of you. You'd be one of them if it weren't for him.
"Thank you," you cry into his shoulder as he hugs you back.
"There was enough time. I watched you get pushed and I just had to do something," he says.
You want to say thank him a million times, but words won't come out as you just stay in each others arms.
Two rooms over, Dae-ho's knuckles are stained red with blood as he punches the door over and over. There's no way that you made it in time, he knows that. He turns and screams at the other player in his room for pushing you, attempting to hit him before his cries take over and he falls into the corner of the room, sobbing into his sleeve.
The doors are eventually unlocked and everyone makes their way out. Dae-ho walks out slowly, looking at the floor and feeling empty. He couldn't save you.
The others run over to him, but they all frown and let out a few gasps when they see that the other person coming out of his room isn't you.
Dae-ho finally looks up at his team, though they all look blurry from the tears in his eyes. He must look like a wreck, but he can't even bring himself to care about that.
Jung-bae walks up to him and puts a hand on his shoulder, and Dae-ho breaks down again, sobbing into the shoulder of his fellow ex-marine. The area around them is silent except for Dae-ho's cries. That is until door opens behind them and a small gasp is heard in front of him. Dae-ho looks up at the woman holding her son and sees her looking past him.
"Dae-ho."
Dae-ho freezes when he hears the voice. He slowly turns around, not wanting to get his hopes up and believe that it's you. But there you, alive and standing in front of him. You look at each other for a few seconds before Dae-ho rushes towards you, throwing his arms around you as you do the same.
The man breaks down again as he hugs you. "I thought you were dead. I'm so sorry."
You rub his back as he cries, quietly telling him that it's okay.
He pulls back and cups your face with his hands, making sure to look you over. "I'm so sorry."
"It's alright, Dae-ho, it wasn't your fault," you reassure him. "And I'm okay. Everything is alright."
He nods, though tears continue to fall down his cheeks. "How did you find a room?"
You smile and look behind you at the man walking towards your group. "This man here picked me up off the floor and saved me at the last moment."
Player 246 just smiles. Dae-ho pulls you back into a hug as he thanks the man over and over for saving your life.
The other players start filtering out of the room. You break away from Dae-ho and pull him along with you towards the door.
As you're walking, he throws an arm around you and pulls you against him, placing a desperate kiss on your forehead that makes you blush. "I can't believe you're alive," he whispers against your skin.
You smile at him and take his hand, squeezing it. "You said it yourself, we're going to get out of here. Together."
Dae-ho keeps you close to him as you walk, the others from your team patting you on the shoulder as they tell you they're happy you made it. Dae-ho keeps his eyes on you the whole time, determined to get the both of you out of here. Today.

the students are excited to have their old biology teacher back, but you can't be that great... right?
CW: fluffy fluff, the events of Last Stand didn't happen, Logan being Logan, reader is a chlorokinetic (controls plants), love at first sight, Logan's down bad off rip
It was a couple months back when word of your return began buzzing around the mansion.
No one knew where the rumor started, or who started it, but the day wasn't even half over before the entire student body was obsessed.
Whispers muttered during class, lunchtime gossip chains, study group pow-wows.
Many couldn't believe it.
You? Come back?
No way.
Some could've sworn you were supposed to be gone for at least a few more years.
Others thought you weren't supposed to come back at all.
And a small few even believed that your arrival could come as soon as the following month.
But after a week or so of no follow up, eventually, the rumor was put to rest, interest diverted to the next, newest gossip on campus.
...
That is... until the story came out.
Apparently, one of the students—who seemed to have some sort of super-hearing—eavesdropped on a conversation between Scott and Charles, and found out you would, in fact, be returning to the school and your position as the biology teacher.
And that was all the students needed to go absolutely berserk.
It wasn't even a full twenty-four hours later before the first meeting of your welcoming committee was held, the new club already having about twenty-five members.
While they began making preparations and to-do lists for your arrival, another group began going out to your garden on the weekends, trimming the overgrown weeds and planting new flowers in their place, caring for them in the meantime.
Some students even started straightening up your old classroom, cleaning the clouded glass of the greenhouse and redecorating with your favorite blooms.
And, of course, Logan had to return from one of his trips right in the middle of it.
Now, at first, he didn't really give a shit.
But out of curiosity, he asked Rogue what all the commotion was about—especially after some kid ran past him with a trolley full of potting soil—and what he gathered was that you were some professor who left about a year ago to teach abroad.
Apparently, you were nearly every kid's favorite teacher, your fun and interactive lessons, along with your genuinely kind and caring personality, touching the hearts of damn near the entire student body.
Even kids who had never met you before were chipping in, helping out those who needed a little extra manpower.
It was almost unbelievable.
'If this chick doesn't show up, Charles is gonna have a nuclear war on his hands...'

"Guys!" Kitty shouted, running straight through the front door and into the foyer. "I think her car just pulled up!"
The following stampede could've ranked as a 9.0 on the Richter scale.
It was eight in the morning on a Saturday, and half the kids were still in their pajamas, but they all moved with lightning speed, grabbing their signs and noise-makers before running down the stairs.
A boy with super speed sprinted to the lower level dorms and woke everyone else, while a girl with the ability to stretch hung up a welcome banner over the archway.
"Hurry! She's walking up!" Kitty reported, her head halfway through a window.
Quickly, the students formed a crowd at the door, the teachers slowly descending the stairs to join them.
"Mmm. She's here already?" Jean yawned, rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she landed on the final step, hand in hand with Scott.
"Still as punctual as ever," he smiled.
"I'll say," Ororo grinned, crossing her robe over her chest, "She wasn't supposed to show up for another week."
Logan was less amused.
No one should have that much energy on a weekend.
Even still, he quietly settled himself off to the side, leaning up against a wall while the others joined the crowd.
'You wouldn't get this kinda reception if the President was the one coming...'
"Y'know..." Ororo started, seemingly out of nowhere, as she joined him on the wall. "I think you'll like her... she's just your type."
He turned to her, raising a brow, "Is she, now?"
Despite his playful tone, he wasn't entertaining the idea in the slightest.
All that true love-soulmate bullshit didn't exist for men like him.
He was 136, going on 137, and had loved and lost enough times to realize that at the end of the day, he'd outlive her.
So why bother?
His life would be one he forever walked alone—a fact he was slowly coming to terms with.
Or at least he thought he was.
Because as you walked through the threshold before him, flashing a heart-stopping grin, he felt all that shit go flying out his head.
You were absolutely beautiful.
And you'd think after 200 years he'd learn...
"Surprise!" the children cheered, proudly holding up their signs and tossing confetti into the air. "Welcome home!"
You gasped, dropping your bags and covering your mouth in shock as you admired the homemade decorations.
"Kids, you shouldn't have!" you smiled brighter than the sun, letting out a small laugh as they all rushed you for a group hug.
And, of course, you were happy to oblige.
"It's good to see you, (y/n)," Scott greeted, he and Jean walking over.
(y/n).
The name sounded like honey on his tongue.
"Logan," Ororo smirked, elbowing her friend in the rib. "You're drooling."
The man cleared his throat, closing his mouth and averting his eyes so they couldn't embarrass him any further.
"Some of you have gotten so big since we last met!" you cheesed, pulling back to examine each of them. "And I see some new faces, too..."
But, against his will, Logan's gaze trailed back to you, Jean's speech going in one ear and out the other.
And when it landed on your face again, he realized he wasn't the only one staring.
Your soft, (e/c) eyes were trained on him as well, their flicker of curiosity and awe completely contrasting your composed demeanor.
It made him feel hot, being subject to your gaze, and he could feel himself thoughtlessly straightening his posture, making himself appear taller, and slightly larger.
You let out a silent laugh, discreetly bringing a hand to your lips to cover it, but not before letting the man get a peak of your smile once more.
Fuck, that smile.
"Can you two quit eye-fucking? It's gross," Scott groaned, joining the two on the wall.
Logan ignored him, looking toward you with a small smirk.
Something about you gave him a good feeling... like things would be different.
Maybe love could exist for him after all...
