he may not realistically be in the battle for the drivers championship anymore, however that doesn’t at all minimise just how proud i am of all lando has achieved this season. 3 wins (including his maiden), 7 poles, 12 podiums, leading his team to first place in the constructors championship, securing the most points of any mclaren driver in history. and that’s just on track, off it i am immensely proud of his growth too, from being someone who always saw everything as glass half full and was always so hard on himself, to the way he now talks in interviews you can see his confidence and belief in his own abilities has come on so far (as it should). it’s so nice to see how far he’s come from the little boy who started out in f1 so many years ago. maybe this year wasn’t his for the championship but mark my words, his time will come.

By the way I shifted like twice already.

Last night I lost my favourite bonnet in my room and I swore I left it on my bed so I turned my bedroom upside down looking for it and figured "yknow what actually no. I didnt lose my bonnet". And so throughout dinner, I repeated the affirmations "I found my bonnet" "I have my bonnet now" and anytime I thought of my bonnet I'd just remind myself I have it already. Bed time comes and I get to my bedroom. I sit down on my bed feeling a bit doubtful about this but literally all it took was me re-making my bed from when I fucked it up looking for my bonnet, for my bonnet to fall out of my sheets, the same sheets I turned inside out and ripped off my bed finding that stupid thing😒

And then today, I was running late for college and I couldn't be arsed with having late buses. So even though it takes me around half an hour to get to college at 9 by bus and the next bus was set to arrive at 8:48, I decided I shifted to a reality where I would make it to class on time. So the bus ended up coming at 8:44 and I was checking the time still deciding that I would arrive on time because I shifted regardless of anything else. And even when I got off the bus at its station, bumped into one of my class mates and chatted with them, when I actually arrived at the door of my class room, the time was 8:59!

So er. YEAH!

Just realized something: Wander probably doesn't know his own name/backstory

During the episode where they were protecting some kids from Dominator, Wander seemed genuinely curious to hear what the oldest had to say since she claimed she knew the hero's "true backstory". He almost acted like it was possible for this random teenager to know his several thousand-year old history and seemed more curious than cautious for what it'd contain.

Seeing how traumatic his backstory was through his PTSD in the crystal room, it's entirely possible he repressed it completely! Especially knowing how young he was when it happened.

If Craig doesn't know Wander's backstory either then this feels like a possible explanation; what are your thoughts?

i didn't personally get the impression that he was excited to hear what she thought because he himself didn't know, i just think he wanted to hear a theory that didn't involve too much violence. he says near the end that setting their stories straight wasn't ever part of his plan, and he just wanted them to have some semblance of hope, no matter how inaccurate it was.

i think keeping his backstory vague is mainly a writing choice, since 1) it's easier to deal with than an expansive lore-drop in a largely lighthearted cartoon and 2) it keeps wander a lil mysterious, which is a really fun part of his character imho.

that said, i don't think it's impossible or even unlikely that wander himself is repressing some large chunks of his memory. maybe he's even been around for too long to even attempt remembering what happened way back When beyond fuzzy shapes and general feelings. since we'll never know what exactly happened to make him the way he is, or if there even is one specific event, it's up to whoever's writing the fanfic!

okay, I'm crowdsourcing advice for a minute, so bear with me and please lend some words if you have any:

I want to get out of the house more. Like, on a regular basis. Weekly, maybe. Preferably, I would like to be interacting with people—the same people—every time, for... like... accountability, but also because I am hoping to put myself out there as the 21st century's most neurotic platonic Casanova. Uh. Making a friend or more out of this would be desirable. But I think if I go out with the intention of making a friend, I will be disappointed.

So. I want to go do something, for that something's own sake. I don't want to go be fake once a week hoping to get a friend out of it.

However, the beautiful state of Iowa is a bit cultureless, and I am too introverted and easily overwhelmed for this world (e.g. going to bars is probably not gonna be my thing). So.... I guess.... any suggestions? opinions? thoughts on making friends in general, or finding good activities as an introverted adult, in general?

oh yeah, also: I am poor. that's a factor. so. signing up a class or similar is not a great option right now.
