“Have you seen that guy around the neighbourhood?”

“Who?”

“Chelsea’s guy, friend, boyfriend, I don’t know what he is to her.”

“Ah, you mean Jenson. Not really. I mean, I did just move in a few months ago and so far whenever I see her she’s alone. I don’t know if he’s ever sneaked in or anything.”

I have never seen a guy this jealous before. I don’t know if Jenson has noticed the way Chelsea looks at him every time he talks to the camera or their co-workers. She must admire him very much. And yet it seems like all she is to him is a girl to mess around with.

"Why do you care this much Chilwell? Huh? Already smitten?" Mase is trying so hard to force the feelings outside as if he isn't gonna be the first person I talk to about Chelsea.

"Again, not a pervert. I just want to make her feel more welcome to England again." Must be difficult travelling the world every other weekend. Plus, getting to know her better, wouldn't hurt, right?

Well, it would hurt me if Jenson ever saw me close to her again.

"You're so sweet it almost breaks my heart. But in all seriousness, I will praise you in Chelsea's eyes. She seemed to be really fond of you. Barely even looked at me during the tour."

"You are so sneaky. How did you manage to get the tour with her? And its wasn't my first Grand Prix you know. I have visited Silverstone before."

"Yeah but she doesn't need to know, right? Plus, Lando and the rest of the drivers really love her, given she is our age, so they want her to leave behind a sort of 'legacy' in the f1 commentating world."

"They clearly love her, especially Jenson. Did you even see the way he was grabbing her? Mate, I would have punched him right there and then if I had the guts to." Remembering that moment, makes my blood boil. What an absolute dick he is. Groping her in front of so many people and co-workers.

"Easy there loverboy. Plus, you've got a reputation to maintain too. And yes I saw, it was truly horrible. I understand to do such things privately but Jesus not in front of so many strangers and coworkers. That was borderline weird."

"So you don't know if they are dating or not?"

"Nope, sorry. But why don't you stalk her insta a bit? It's public and I am sure you will find something juicy in there."

Should I? That does sound kinda creepy. On the other hand though, she would've given me her insta right? Better now than never, I guess. And I am not gonna like, stalk her. Maybe give her an innocent follow. I can't look through her profile like a pervert.

“Here’s here insta if you wanna check it out. I shared you the link. I’m sure she’ll be happy to follow you. After all, you’ll probably be seeing each other every week.” Mason says and I click on her profile.

“I don’t know. I’ll think of what I’ll do. Thank you eitherway Mase.”

“Don’t waste this opportunity buddy. She’s a good girl and people like her don’t come around very often.” He usually doesn’t say things like that without a reason hiding behind it. Why is he saying all those things?

I lay my head on the pillow and think of how things will be after I come back in action. I can’t wait to play football again and feel alive. It’s been quite the time and I need this trill again.

“All those footballers want is to get in your pants, just so you can spare them a good word or two once you start commenting on the games”

I get out of bed and collect all my clothes, wear everything I was before hand and walk out of the room before Jenson can react. I don’t even manage to make it to the elevator when he comes running towards me with just his pants on. He tries to hold my waist but I slap his hand away from me. How dare he?

“I’m not some kind of slut, that will open her legs to a man just to please him, if that’s what you’re trying to say. And before we got together I had feeling for you and I remember very fondly of you praising my work and professionalism with the drivers and team principals.”

“I’m so sorry baby. I didn’t mean it like that. It’s not you who I don’t trust. It’s them.”

“And yet you said it Jenson. What you were trying to say doesn’t matter anymore. The damage is done. Goodnight.” I walk into the elevator and watch his saddened expression pierce my heart as the doors shut.

I take out my phone and the first thing I see brings a smile to my face.

First up are some rules about what you can and canNOT do with my art.

The rough timeline for this au, without spoiling, is as follows:

1. A written version of the original game, that fits with this au (no singing or beep boops for the entire story- tho Blue does ‘beep’ when startled).

2. Corruption era, starting off extremely similar to PhantomFear’s mod, before it diverts into my own version of the story after Nexus Pico.

3. A bit of… interesting things regarding the Corruption Era

4 & 4.5 are no longer happening. Maybe in a oneshot or something I’ll write it how I originally viewed it, but it won’t be canon.

5. Wrapping up the story with some lore “explaining.”

6. Technically not an arc, but any mini stories I feel like adding over time, and some other things like- wrapping up other character’s personal problems that I didn’t get to in the main story.

I will plan on updating this story with at least two chapters per month. I can’t promise any more than that, as writers block hits hard and fast, and I can’t control it. (Plus also I have work and college all week, with only one day off normally).

+ (overly-detailed) storytime about instagram research under the cut (since i'm using your ask to take a trip down memory lane...)

back in 2021, with tremendous help from @carninator-blog (who was equally as interested in the "MotA Cast Investigation"), i managed to cobble together a growing list of cast and crew members (sometimes, i was faster than imdb lol). instagram was the Key tho, like it was INVALUABLE! if you found one person, they might post a story that shows Another person with them and, if you recognized That person, then you could find Their profile (if they had one). and so on and so forth.

anyway, it's a lot easier to do the instagram stuff now (can you believe i mainly use it for "research"). i browse the search term "mastersoftheair" and have retired the rest: "mota" (too much weed lmao), "masteroftheair" (an easy typo, but no one makes that mistake anymore), and "whirlwind" (production name which yielded 1 result out of like. 50 or more). i even had to download an old version of the instagram app bc they just HAD to get rid of the "recent" tab which is crazy inconvenient! that's where all the timely information is!!

another thing. a few guys straight up Do Not have an instagram profile (....like nate mann. it'd be hypocritical of me to not respect it but come onnnnnnn, nate mann!!) and, while some guys Do have a profile, they never post anything about MotA Ever (like fionn o'shea). further- some guys don't have a profile anymore, but they used to (like kai alexander). some guys have a private one (valid. also callum turner), some guys suddenly got Verified some time inbtwn the production and the premiere (the elliot(t)s), and some guys changed their user name (like josiah cross). every once in a long while, i have to go update my cast/crew instagram profile list on google docs with all the names and links and GODDDD i sound like a weirdass stalker now that i've put this all into words, but believe me when i say i'm very much not invested in any of the actors' personal lives!! i try to keep it as professional as i can (everything's sourced, like an archive). i'm only ever looking for the MotA stuff, Exclusively.

additionally, a lot of behind the scenes pics and videos would Only get posted in cast members' stories. if i missed that 24hr window, i'd never see it again (unless they decided to put them on their profile), so, i'd check their instagram profiles Every Day whenever i was free. on the bright side tho, a lot of them were Fantastic behind the scenes pics/videos and "watching" the production of this show from afar (through instagram, of all things) was a lot of fun in the midst of pandemic anxieties and boredom (go check my 'video' tag if you're ever in the mood for some on-set cast shenanigans!)

while i'm here tho, i've gotta say that while keeping up with the cast back then was fun the Vast majority of the time (if nothing else, it gave me something to do during the chaos of 2021/22), i had a sorta anxiety about it sometimes wrt the, idk, "sensitivity" of the content. it was very NDA This, NDA That. i figured, "well, if they already posted it in their stories, it's probably fine" until one of the cast members Literally made a whole tumblr account and very kindly asked if i could please remove a few of the pics i posted of him bc he technically wasn't allowed to post them in the first place, so having them Out There could get him in trouble! i was SOOOO embarrassed about it and i felt Awful about the possibility of him getting in trouble all thanks to some hyper-observant internet rando (thankfully, tumblr is famously lowkey. it'd be different if it was as popular as twitter lol). after that incident, i had this semi-anxiety about "should i post this pic or just That one? should i Not post this?? should i download/save them and post them after there's a big announcement of some kind??? where's the line?!! What Do Now???!!". it didn't help matters when, in the MotA behind the scenes facebook page, a bunch of really cool set pictures would sometimes get deleted within an hour bc Whoops! the poster actually wasn't allowed to share those (and, even if i'd already downloaded them before they got wiped, would i be able to post them, despite being under no such NDA myself? or would i get another mysterious DM?)

but that's all in the past, now! i'm pretty sure i've posted Every Single One of those behind the scenes pics/videos, provided i downloaded them in time. if not, sometimes the (finally active) MotA subreddit has my back lol.

further, looking for Any MotA content during from 2021 to 2023 came with acknowledging the eventual "droughts" (what i nicknamed them) where it'd be a good while before i saw anything new at all. bc of this, i have a legitimate soft spot for certain cast members who posted a lot of updates/pics/videos Wayyyy before we even got the first teaser (s/o to luke coughlan, louis greatorex, jordan coulson, josh bolt, and josiah cross for keeping hope alive)

I'd love to make one but after reading through the FAQ I feel quite intimidated since I have no prior experience with reviewing books (would love to start through netgalley) and no review blog etc. to link them. Can I still make an account there or do they need some proof of reviews first on a blog or smth like that?

Hi there! long story short, don't stress about it - Netgalley's big secret is that it seems like it's for Influencers and Professional Reviewers with blogs/youtube channels Only™️, but that is straight up not true, they pretty much just let anyone in there lol

i'm gonna put some more detailed info under the read more!

so - you do need one (1) thing can link on your profile, but that's it, and it can be a Goodreads you just made earlier today (though adding a review or two so it's not completely empty is a good idea). or, alternatively: do you have a Tumblr/Twitter/Insta that you maybe occasionally mention books on? boom. you're a social platform reviewer. i mean, all i've got is this incredibly unprofessional Tumblr, my dead as hell Goodreads (that i made for the sole purpose of linking it to Netgalley), and Storygraph. the friend i found out about Netgalley from said xe literally only has a fake Goodreads account. also, Netgalley was my first experience with "proper" book reviews - so, yeah, no prior experience nor proof of being a reviewer required!

the one tip i'd give is to spend a little time on your Netgalley bio - that's ur chance to sell yourself as a Totally For Sure Professional Reviewer, even if you (or the accounts you linked) aren't. here's my attempt at bullshitting my way through it without technically lying, for example:

Collars Dot Com Ch1: Fuck You, Drunk Brian

In my defense: I was drunk.

It was Friday night, and I'd just turned in a big project and was celebrating by drinking alone, which I told myself was comfortable but felt pathetic.

I'd been half-watching something on HBO-- something with tits-- and scrolling through Instagram, and come across yet another one of Steve's daily Insta stories full of nothing but Bitte posing in different outfits, ass-up, pouting, hands bound behind his back in complex and intricate knots.

And I thought: don't I deserve nice things? I definitely deserve nice things.

Most of what I knew about Pets I'd learned from internet pop-ups and rumors I'd heard as a teenager that'd fueled my under-the-blanket jerk sessions for a long time.They were expensive. You fucked them (and bought them little outfits and made them pose for Instagram photos). What more was there to know?

I could have just swiped through Steve's Insta story and saved a couple of pics for use during me-time, like I usually did. I could have looked at the 'Pets' category on Pornhub. Maybe I should have, but I didn't. I deserve nice things.

Instagram's algorithm had helpfully provided a banner ad for Collars.com, which I vaguely knew as one of the biggest online sellers of Pets, or at least the one with the biggest advertising budget. I'd expected to be immediately confronted by someone's asshole, but clicking on the link brought me to a very businesslike website, pretty much like any other sales portal I'd ever ordered socks off of, though in this case all of the product thumbnails were photos of attractive young men. I clicked one at random.

His name was Poppy, and his photo showed him crouched on a studio floor, looking up at the camera with a heavy-lidded, mischievous expression. Olive-toned, brown-eyed, an absolute fuckton of thick black hair. The site listed him as ‘live-trained.’ Video thumbnails beneath his profile picture were labeled 'throat demo,' 'fours demo,' 'back demo,' and 'stim demo.'

Okay random story, only barely related but I feel like I don’t bring this up enough in my real life. So, I got a TikTok notification once that a friend from school who I no longer speak to (but still have on insta) was on tiktok and suggested to me. So I click on her profile, and one of the thumbnails looked familiar so I clicked…bitch made a tiktok of MY vacation from clips on my insta stories and pretended it was hers.

Never confronted her. Never said nuthin’. Just archived all my highlights and moved on. But I was like what in the single white female behaviourrrrr.

OC APP IDEA??

There should be an app for keeping track of OCs. Like, theres just projile templated there with questions about ur oc, like all the basic oc stuff (gender sexuality etc.) and also stuff like dislikes, likes, triggers, trauma, backstory, family, friends etc etc and u can add your own questions if you want and answer them, and u can customise the oc's peofile so instead of like a white bg it can be a diff color or any image u want that'll represent the oc, and also u can change the font and color of the text,, and also theres an empty box for where u put the oc's avatar and when u tap on the box it'll give u an option to either import ur own photo or send u to picrew and if u press picrew then u automatically get directed to picrew where u can choose one u like and make ur character and then when uve made ur character, just hold on it and where theres options like save to photos and send to (discord, insta, etc) there's also be the *oc tracker name* app and when u press the option then the photo will be sent to *oc tracker app name* and when u go into the app, u go to the gallery section of the app (theres 2 sections; profiles and gallery) and the gallery will be where all the oc picrews u make will be stored, and u can name them (only the oc names tho to keep it simple) and if u want to drag the picrew picture onto a profile, u just hold on it and drag it, press the button profile at the top of the screen and then place the picrew image vaguely over the character profile u want it to go to and then the image will fill the empty avatar box,, and in the gallery there'll still be the picrew image and also any images you've imported for character avatars so when u've made alot of characters u cna just go into gallerry and scroll down to look at all the ocs u have and hwta they look like,,,, and also when u make more ocs in the profile section it'll come out like a page(?) with the avatar and all the questions, and there'll be buttons u can click on the side of the profile to change the profile's text color and background (as i mentioned earlier), and when u make another oc there'll be a thick line like a divider that'll seperate thre two oc profiles, and u can also customise the color/look of the divider aswell, but all dividers must look the same as to mot create confusion-- and also u can categorise the ocs bc one of the questions will be "category": and thats where u can put the name of the story ur oc comes from or whatever and at top of the page, below the "profile" and "gallery" buttons there's extra buttons which are different categories you've created- like, harry potter ocs or comfort ocs etc. and u can press a button (eg "comfort ocs" and it'll filter to be only the ocs with "comfort oc" in their category will appear (and u can add up to 3 catehories for each oc) ---- also the questions for ur oc profile will be super creative like "color pallette" and there'll be 5 circles (u can edit the amount of circles from 2-7) and when u press on a circle itll come up with the color hex picker thing (idk what its called) and u can choose colors to fill in the circles (also u can customise the circle- it can be a circle, square, heart, or star) --- and another cool question is "oc playlist" so u can link a spotify playlist of ur oc if u have one and it'll come up on the profile but as a really small rectangle on the page so it soesnt take ip too much space (the rectangle will have a small pic of the icon u put as the oc's playlist cover on the very left, and the playlist name-- and also u can change the color of that rectangle but by default it's white/black depending on if u have dark mode or light mode on <u can change that in the app settings at the very very top right>) and when u press on the small rectangle playlist link it'll direct u to spotify and to that playlist. Also theres a question that's like "whats in you're oc's bag?" and there'll be an icon of a bag beneath the oc's avatar (so its the oc avatar at the top left, beneath is a bag icon with the words "whats in ur oc's bag on top of the bag) and then next--

my sp saw my insta story yesterday (I revealed I dyed my hair and just completely changed my style overall) after not watching them for a while. I just assumed she was going to see it and love it. (i don’t watch any of hers either)

and she suddenly accepted me on her private pinterest account yesterday too.

after seeing my story, she changed her profile picture (2 times in the day after not changing it for a whole month 😭) and uploaded a story but I did not open it, she deleted it like maybe 8 hours later. and I was js like damn u wanna be seen by me sooo bad

and mysterious likes appeared on some of my spotify playlists. in some of the last things I sent her there was a playlist included, it is still up, a like appeared on it. (she did not like it when I first sent it but she still has the link, we don’t have each other added on spotify anymore)

so it was that playlist and in TWO other specific playlist that I had just for music i’d love to listen to with her, they are perfectly balanced between her music taste and mine. a sudden like appeared on these three playlists. I have other public playlists, but there’s no new like on them.

the reader in my written works cater to all. (mainly with female genitalia atm as i’m unsure on how to write for gender neutral, but i will get there in time). none of my works include mcs with detailed skin colour, hair styles, hair/eye colour, body sizes and anything of the sort. the behind the scenes writing to twlg (which is what i’m assuming you’re talking abt) is not actually important to the fic itself, it was just something fun i created at first and people seemed to enjoyed so i continued.

the mc is who you are, but i used those faceclaims as it was easier for me to find friendship groups for haru and miwoo’s (main characters in twlg) posts with the mc and i ended up just rolling with it for the mcs future insta posts (if you look back on the first insta profile i made for mc, there was no faceclaims or anything of the sort. she was practically faceless during that because i wasn’t sure on what to do)

Remember that this is not a case of performative activism when posting about Palestine (or at least, it doesn’t have to be). This isn’t like posting a black square on your insta and never talking about it again. The people of Gaza have directly asked us to be their voice, to keep telling their stories, to not let the world forget about them.

There is also the matter of propaganda that, in the US at least, is taught to us in almost every facet of life since birth. Many of us just didn’t know better. Which I know sounds pathetic, and it is, but seriously. I had no clue about what was really going on, and I never thought to ask because I wasn’t given the option.

All it took was one single post showing the reality of Palestinian life that I happened to see on tiktok one day. And then I went down the rabbit hole, and I learned so much crazy revolting insane shit in a couple of days that I spent those two days sick to my stomach, crying so hard my head ached for a week. I am not exaggerating. I could not believe the things these people have been living through. And all it took was for me to see one single thirty second video showing me that there might be another story here.

So if you post one infographic, one link, one video of what it looks like in Gaza right now, and someone like me sees it? There you go, you helped someone see the truth. Even if it’s only one person, one person at a time is how change happens.

Keep talking about them. Keep sharing their stories. The people of Palestine deserve that much at the very fucking least. Do not give up on them.

You want a tip? Search relevant tags on tiktok, insta, tumblr, whatever your social of choice (or multiple! more is always better!) and save everything relevant you see. Then in the morning post the stuff you saved on your profile or to your story (or both! I’m doing both!) Keep a few things in drafts or in your photos so that you have more to post the next day. That’s what I’m doing. I save stuff all day long so I have between five and twenty posts lined up on Instagram every night, ready to go out in the morning. And I have it set so everything I post goes to my Facebook automatically too.

Of course, social media isn’t infallible. The censorship is already happening, we’re going to see less and less on our feeds and for you pages. You should be reading literature, watching press conferences and live addresses, and everything else listed in the post above. But social media is a great way to get your voice out there if you’re not someone who can write a scholarly article or go on the news.

You might already be doing this but while calling your reps, tell them that as a voter, you're unwilling to support them in the upcoming election unless they urge the White House to take a stand against Israel and stop funding them

Share art/writing/films around Palestinian culture

If you're part of a union, ask them what they're doing to urge their industry leaders to take a stand against Israel + pressure the White House OR urge them to start a strike/walkout/etc if they're not doing anything already

Talk with your friends IRL about Palestine, whether in an activist capacity or watching a movie or literally anything

Reach out to a mosque to see if you can help them with anything

See if your city/state council has put out a statement in support of Gazans. If not, try to push them to do so.

Donate to Palestine Legal or Direct Action if you have some money to spare

I know some of these don't feel like they have as big of an impact on helping Palestinians, but we do need to make an effort not to forget their humanity in the face of continued erasure and the media's sensationalist rhetoric.

Talking on social media and posting—while not seeming like a lot—does SO much. I know in USAmerica, it's like yelling into a void, but political analysts are saying that most of the "Global South" has completely lost any amount of goodwill it may have had the past few years. Hopefully, countries will start to put sanctions and embargoes en masse on the US and Israel soon.

Our goals here are BOTH short-term and long-term. We hope for the life and liberation of the Palestinian people, so anything that you can think of might help at some point in the future is encouraged to at least try.
