It’s funny, isn’t it? The way you spend your entire life imagining a moment, only to have it feel completely different when it actually happens.

You stand at the entrance of the school, heart racing in your chest like it's trying to escape. You should be excited. This is it, after all! Your first day of typical, public academia. You were finally free; out of the sterile rooms where you were tested like some kind of lab rat. No more government buildings. No more men in white coats watching you expectantly, just to be disappointed. Finally, a chance to be... normal.

Except, standing here at the edge of this intimidating hallway, the weight of the moment hits you. This place, the one you thought would feel like a new start, feels more like a cage than a haven.

You tug at the sleeves of your oversized hoodie, hiding your hands, as if making yourself smaller will make the world less overwhelming. You’re not ready for this.

Sure, you’ve spent the past decade in government custody. Sure, you’ve been pushed to test the limits of your powers since you were seven. But none of that prepared you for high school. No one ever taught you how to make friends or blend in with a crowd. How to pretend like you don’t feel like an outsider, a walking alien in a world that doesn’t want you.

And they do. They part like the Red Sea. It’s as if they all know he’s something bigger than the rest of them.

The room feels like it freezes as Mark passes by, but you don’t care. You can’t care.

You have to talk to him.

You take a deep breath and walk toward him, pushing through the crowd. Your heart pounds so loudly, you’re sure everyone can hear it. You’re not thinking anymore. You just… have to see him, talk to him, maybe get that little piece of your old life back. Was then even possible?

“Mark!” you call out, unable to keep the excitement out of your voice.

There’s no response, and you wonder if he heard you – how could he not though, when the building was deadly quiet?

“H-Hey, Mark!” you say again, louder this time, almost desperate.

His eyes flick toward you for a split second, but then he just… keeps walking. He doesn’t stop. He doesn’t even give you a real look. His face is set, cold, like he doesn’t care who you are or that you’re calling out to him like a scream in the void.

You freeze. His sharp eyes felt like ice water being dumped on you. He doesn’t care. He’s not happy to see you. In fact, he’s not anything about you. He doesn’t even seem to recognize you.

And just like that, he’s out of sight down the hall, leaving you standing there, utterly dumbstruck.

The students around you are still watching. Some are whispering, others are glancing at each other and back at you. You can feel their eyes on you like a heavy weight, and all you want to do is disappear.

You take a shaky breath and try to calm yourself. Okay. Maybe it wasn’t that big of a deal, you say in your mind. Maybe he’s just having a bad day. But then again, maybe Mark had just changed. Maybe he was a different person now.

But that didn’t matter, did it? You weren’t here to find pieces of the past. You were here to start something new. Right?

But even as you think that, a worse thought settles in your stomach. You could never belong in a place like this.

But then you catch yourself. This isn’t you. You’re not some weak pushover who would just let herself fall because of a bitter glance. You’ll figure this out. You have to. You won’t let this place swallow you up like everything else in your life has.

You push your shoulders back, block out your doubts, and start walking again, the noise of the hallway beginning to buzz again in your ears. This new chapter of your life is just beginning, and you’re not going to let it be the end of you.

It’s been months since that first day, and nothing has really changed. You’ve kept to yourself, as usual. You go through the motions, your head down, eyes on the floor, trying to blend in with the crowd. It’s easier that way. The loneliness doesn’t sting as much anymore. You’ve grown used to it, the way you’ve grown used to all the other parts of your life that never quite fit.

At lunch, you find your usual spot—the quiet corner near the window, where it’s easy to pretend you’re somewhere else. You unpack your lunch, but your mind is elsewhere, and you catch yourself absentmindedly playing with the small dragon charm that hangs from your bookbag. It’s one of the few things from your past that you still carry with you. You loved the way the charm sways in the light, like a tiny piece of magic you can hold onto.

A chuckle pulls you out of your thoughts. You glance up to see a guy, someone you’ve seen before—a jock—standing a few feet away with his friends. They’re all looking at you, and you feel the familiar heat of embarrassment creep up your neck.

“You know, I thought you were kinda cute at first,” the guy says, grinning like he’s just discovered a new joke. “But then I realized... you’re just a fuckin’ freak.”

He laughs, his friends joining in. Your face flushes with a mix of surprise and embarrassment, your fingers tightening around the charm in your hand.

You open your mouth, but the words get stuck. You don’t know how to respond. You just want to disappear.

But then, something happens. Something that you can’t quite believe.

The jock freezes, his face suddenly contorted in pain, as if something is crushing him from behind. He lets out a whimper, and his friends stop laughing. The cafeteria falls into an eerie silence.

You look up to see a hand gripping the guy’s shoulder. It’s large, powerful, and the grip is tightening. The jock’s face goes pale, and his friends are frozen, unsure of what’s happening.

“What’s so fuckin’ funny?” The voice is vaguely familiar; cool, detached—it’s Mark’s voice.

The jock tries to turn around, but he can’t. Mark’s hand is practically crushing him, and it’s clear he’s not letting go until he’s had his say.

“Go ahead. Tell me,” Mark continues, his voice a low threat. “I wanna laugh too.”

The entire cafeteria is watching now, all eyes on Mark and the guy whose face is turning red from the pressure. The tension is thick, the kind of heavy silence that only comes when everyone knows they’re witnessing something they shouldn’t be.

An administrator, a stern woman who’s been standing by the door, steps forward, trying to break up the confrontation.

“Mark Grayson! What do you think you’re doing?” she says, her voice sharp.

Mark doesn’t look at her. He just gives the jock’s shoulder one last squeeze, and the guy winces before Mark releases him. The jock stumbles forward, clutching his arm, too humiliated to speak.

Mark turns his gaze on you next, his expression unreadable, before he starts to walk away, heading for the exit. The cafeteria slowly returns to its usual noise, but you’re still frozen in your seat, doe eyes watching him as he went.

You can’t help it. You’re in shock, your heart still pounding in your chest. Your hands are shaking slightly, and the dragon charm still dangles loosely from your fingers.

For a moment you sit there, struggling to process what just happened. Did Mark really just stick up for you? Your brain turned slowly in confusion. You’d already given up on the idea that the so-called friendship you once shared would ever come back, but now, with him standing right there, was this… some kind of invitation?

The jock is still rubbing his shoulder, trying to regain his composure, but Mark is already gone.

Your heart is racing in your chest, and before you can second-guess yourself, you shove your things back into your bag and rush to your feet. You’re not going to let this chance slip away.

You move quickly, pushing past the crowd of students who are still staring at the scene. You can’t help but feel that familiar mix of nerves and excitement twisting in your gut. He’s not gone yet. You can catch up. You will catch up.

“Mark!” you call out, your voice a little louder than you intend. It’s shaky, but there’s no turning back now.

Mark doesn’t stop. But that’s okay. You won’t stop either.

You break into a jog, your shoes skidding slightly on the linoleum floor as you make your way down the hallway.

“Mark, wait!” you say again, a bit more forcefully now. You’re not going to let him just walk away this time.

Finally there’s a hesitation. Mark pauses just for a moment, not turning around, but long enough for you to catch up. You hadn’t really thought about what you’d say if you got to him, but now that you’re here it really all just comes pouring out. The words tumble over each other, as if they’ve been stuck inside your throat for years.

“Hey! Mark! You remember me, right? [First Name]—[First & Last]. We used to play on the swings together, remember? You’d always try to push me higher, and I’d scream for you to stop, but you didn’t listen, and I’d cry. That was such a good time—do you remember?”

You continue to ramble, not even giving him a chance to respond, the words coming faster the more you talk. You try to force yourself to slow down, but it’s like the floodgates opened, and you can’t stop now.

“I mean, after everything happened, I never thought I’d see you again, you know? I wasn’t sure if you remembered, but I always thought about you—about us. I-I didn’t really have anyone else to think about, you know? I was stuck in those government buildings, just being tested and waiting and then more testing and more waiting… It was awful, Mark. I mean, just really fucking shitty, y’know? I didn’t get to go to school or… be normal. I didn’t even get to be a kid, really. And don’t even get me started on puberty—talk about a nightmare. But then they didn’t want me anymore so I ended up here! And—well, obviously, I don’t exactly fit in. But I thought, maybe we could talk, you know? I mean, we were friends once, right?”

Your rambling was out of control, the words an awkward mess as you take quick and uneven breaths. You’re not even sure if what you’re saying is making sense, but you can’t stop.

Mark had finally stopped walking, and you stood only a few feet away from him now, the hallway otherwise empty. He runs a hand through his hair, clearly uncomfortable, before muttering, “Jesus Christ, I don’t remember you talking this much.”

The sound of his voice, a full sentence—an actual, coherent sentence directed at you—makes your stomach flip. You can’t help the wide grin that spreads across your face. He’s talking to you!

And your attachment to him is immediate.

“I—I—well, I have a lot to say, obviously! It’s just, you know, after all that time and stuff, I wasn’t sure if you—if you remembered anything about me, or if you even wanted to—" You keep going, voice a little higher now, eager and breathless. “But anyways here you are, talking to me! Hey, do you remember—"

“Whoa, whoa,” Mark cuts you off, rubbing his temples slowly. “I literally can’t understand a word you're saying. It all just sounds like… mouse noises. Like you’re just squeaking at me.”

You stop mid-sentence, your face falling slightly. The silence between you two feels like it stretches on longer than it should. Mark’s eyes flick to the side, and for a moment, you can see him tense up, almost like he thinks he might’ve hurt your feelings—not that he would care. But then, before he can say anything, you burst out laughing.

“I forgot how funny you are!” You can’t help it. The awkwardness, the tension, everything melts away as you laugh. You laugh because this is Mark, the same guy who used to make dumb jokes and laugh at all the stupid stuff you said. The same Mark who wouldn’t let the other kids on the playground kick over your sandcastles, even if he looks a little different and acts a little… rougher now.

Mark stares at you, wide-eyed, blinking like he doesn’t quite get what’s happening. But for a second, his lips twitch. It’s the barest hint of a smile—almost imperceptible, but it’s there. Maybe it’s because he didn’t expect you to laugh at his insult. Maybe he didn’t expect any of this.

Then, he finally speaks, his tone dry, laced with that familiar sarcasm. “Y’know, this is why that fucking meathead called you a freak.”

You rock back on your heels, hands clasped behind your back as you tilt your head and stare at him with an almost innocent expression. “That’s okay. I might act the part, but you definitely look it,” you say, giggling a little. Mark’s brows furrow, and he gives you a look that would’ve sent any other student running for the hills. You, however, are completely unfazed.

You step closer to him, and, moving with the quickness of someone who’s truly bad at reading the room, you rise onto your toes and curl a lock of his mohawk around your finger, studying it with exaggerated interest. Mark, of course, could’ve easily grabbed your wrist the second you made a move toward him. Any other person would’ve found themselves nursing a broken limb, but for some reason, he remains as still as stone under your touch.

Your finger lightly tugs at the end of the strands. “What’s with the hair, by the way?” you ask, genuinely curious. “I mean, you did always act like punk-ass when we were kids, but this is like... next-level.”

Mark glances down at you, eyes narrowing slightly as if trying to gauge whether you're serious or just messing with him. “You’re a nosy little shit, aren’t you?”

You shrug, still not taking your finger from his hair. “You think so? I dunno, I guess I’m just kinda surprised by this version of you,” you say, a teasing grin tugging at your lips. “You’re, like, all tough guy now.”

Apparently having had enough Mark abruptly smacks your hand away with the back of his own. He tsks through his teeth, eyes closed as he turned his head away. You furl your lips inward, eyes wide as you stare at his face. You wait a second, then murmur,

“… Did I make you mad?” He hopes you don’t notice the way his lips twitch upward. “Anyways what’s your schedule! Maybe I can switch into some of your classes.” Mark opens his eyes again, glancing down at you with almost disbelief. Were you for real?

He starts to walk away, hands shoved casually in his pockets as he went. And you stayed right beside him, a shadow to his every step.

u start to talk like they cant understand a word ur saying, which is entirely accurate, and you notice some like to lean in when you talk, or respond with humming/saying smth like u can understand, or even just gesture for u to keep going

Four/Time/Legend?? surprisingly/Hyrule/Twilight like when u get rlly talkative like ur having a one-sided convo w/them all the time, and they constantly are looking at you poinetedly to hear u narrate whatever ur doing or give a response whenever they same something at you (Rulie/Four/Twi/ and sometimes Time, (and he turns away but Legend too) give a little smile whenever you ramble)

Wild is Very Interested in your langauage, bc the Zora, Rito, Gerudo, and Gorons all had their native tongue that he ended up learning, and so he constantly makes notes to try and decipher some of what ur saying in English

he lights up anytime ur able to successfully tell him another something abt it, like the alphabet, or grammar or structure etc

they seem to pay attention esp in the mornings or late at night? ur not sure why until Wind both draw pictures and tries to get the general idea to you to explain

i’m just here w/ more boxer nikolai thoughts. very specifically what his team looks like.

his promoter? price. lends to an interesting dynamic - price gives the orders but if nikolai dislikes them he simply *wont listen*. they’re a team, first and foremost, and a unit at the end of the day. they have a rehearsed set of statements for every interview, but they never quite need to *check* what the other is comfortable with them saying because they know what each other want.

his trainer? laswell. nikolai is a dedicated man, a strong man, a smart man, but he’s a man who needs some form of guidance. no trainers he’s had has ever really gotten it, which is how price pushed him in the direction of her. she keeps him in check, and she pushes him to be better than he thought possible.

cutman? gaz. technically it should be a laceration man i say as they drag me away. but alas. i imagine gaz and nikolai to have a very strong relationship built on a fundament of trust. nikolai trusts gaz, gaz trusts nik. after all they’ve gone through together, he can trust gaz to rub some vaseline on his face, after all.

other cornermen? it’s a little blurry as to the exact number he’d be allowed. there’s i think three allowed on the fringe (trainer, cutman, and one other) for non-title fights, four for title fights, and then i can’t find the number for how many can be on the ground. i imagine the three on the fringe are laswell, gaz, and yegor. yegors intel dossier says that he’s loyal to nik, but has a habit of challenging his command where he sees fit. i think he’d be a good fit here for somewhat similar reasons to laswell. i’d say price is there, but i imagine he’s busy watching it on a screen whilst he prepares a warm bath and somewhat poorly-made pelmeni, as well as organising interviews for nik.

also, while i’m on the topic, a little more on price:

most promoters have multiple fighters under their command, so it would be unusual that he just works with nik. but i imagine he likes to dedicate all his time to the man, checking the history of every person he’s interviewing with, finding perfect fights for him, ensuring proper medical care. he insists on taking nikolai to get brain scans; he cannot bear the thought of the other man getting hurt because of him. price is a strong man, but (i’m thinking of his whole “no, nik. stay” here) the people he cares about are a great exception to the rule.

Okay so there's some things that we have already mentioned in the previous headcanons- ill try to not repeat them unless they are necessary but ill also try to treat this as its own post and lightly repeat them real quick too-

N and V started out fighting over Uzi, and Uzi obviously was mostly into N at first- but after a while i guess Vs advances got to her- especially since she was- in a way- so desperate for attention/affection, so it felt a little overwhelming to her but in a good way. they very obviously flirted with her which got them silently treating it as a challenge- and Uzi being Uzi obviously loved the attention she got out of it- opting to let this just... kinda continue lmao. she didn't expect to let it go far enough for her to end up with both of them but here we are XD

We slightly touched this topic before about V but to reiterate- all of them have different levels of trauma that they all deal with and currently V has gone through the worst of it, both having to endure Cyn's torture in her mindspace and also having to watch N get slaughtered in front of her and possibly even having a hand in it. She fears losing people that mean to her so she became avoidant with a difficult personality to guard whatever's left of her. It took a really long time for her to decide to be with the two and to protect them and not run away from her feelings for anyone or anything. but some days its still difficult for her so sometimes N and Uzi have to literally trap her into a wrestling cuddle pile or something to get her to just... exist, without feeling like the whole universe is weighing her down. N and Uzi want her to know they are there to protect HER from those inner demons too.

sometimes the cuddle piles end up with N and V once again trying to get Uzi's attention lmao which ends up with them being a little too horny on main- whoops :) - everything starts with a little nibble here, a small bite there - maybe some pillow fights and climbing over eachother or holding one another down in different positions- aaaand then they wake up a few hours later with Uzi having regrets cuz these two are horny as f-

ANYWAY- N is probably the most patient of the 3, and although he usually never breaks up fights because he trusts the other two to handle their own problems without him needing to mom them, sometimes Uzi and V go a lil too far and he gets very tired of dealing with this kind of behavior. he never blows up at them- but he usually goes away to take a breather- sometimes hanging out with Thad or the other drones- and during this time Uzi and V kinda feel bad- but then they would think of stuff like maybe planning dates or getting food for him, draw stuff on cards and etc- or go around trying to find gifts to make him happy<3 sometimes they might add some extra kisses and unwinding sessions in the end as an extra treat :p N always forgives them obviously, he just needs some guys night out every once in a while or something lmao-

Getting close to Uzi became an excuse for N and V to get closer to eachother too. ironically, it first started with them bantering about who is better at what- but then it turned into unironically flirting and teasing eachother- but after a while they realized their relationship isn't going to ever be the same as what it was back in their old days but its also something completely new, so they become more willing to accept one another and explore their newer dynamic.

they all love being coddled and pampered every now and then. Uzi and V may not outright admit it- but they really do too. so they take turns with who they put in the middle of receiving affection :p

N and V are VERYYYYYY over protective of Uzi. to the point that they wouldn't even let the doctor [for tech repair obviously] check Uzi or touch her in any way when she had a small virus case lol. Khan had to pay the poor doctor extra for that.... deciding to leave his daughter in her room in a cuddle pile of two murderous demons that have glowing cat eyes every time he comes in the room smh.

V and N really like cuddling Uzi and sticking their hands under her clothes. or sometimes just flat out sleeping or cuddling naked. its less of a sexual thing and more so to do with the fact that the two MD's have higher body temperature and a less efficiant body for cooling- since they have a more compact torso and a lot less oil and coolant fluids going through them [since they need to consume it continuously] and having a bunch of working nanobots and nanites shoved into them to turn into weapons/wings/etc- and Uzi- although having the AS- is still very much less in need of cooling due to still having a more efficient body design for a "exoplanetary worker unit", with a still functioning cooling system inside that doesn't necessarily need extra oil to make it work unless under stressful conditions.... even if she probably does have worms and fleshy tentacles inside her now lmao. But either way Uzi's body is still a lot colder than the others so she's usually shared in the middle and at this point Uzi cant even be embarrassed when they slide their hands under her clothes and grab her wherever smh..... although V also does it as a semi possessive thing so there's that pfft. she was especially handsy after that doctor left XDDD.

Yes Uzi has very much in fact ended up at the medical/tech repair unit multiple times because N and V have sometimes ended up being a bit too much for her to handle- and the doctor [a character yall shall meet later] has absolutely had it. She had to literally sit the 3 down, explain to them their body differences via scans and the damages they may cause Uzi and it was basically the robot version of having "the talk" with your child- and Uzi wanted to die there and then.

Uzi sometimes just tells the two to drink blood from her- the first time they wanted to share oil they were scared about accidentally causing Uzi to overheat- but after a few times of trying it, they continued doing it more frequently either by kissing and regurgitating or taking turns to bite Uzi or vice versa. N and V typically don't use one another's oil because they already have high usage as it is, it wouldn't be efficient. admittedly N and V always have concerns when it came to biting Uzi- but somehow they found out Uzi actually enjoys it a little when they do it and well...they get ideas lmao- they just make sure to lick her indents clean with their regenerative saliva to make the AS work as little as possible on Uzi's body.

N really enjoys seeing his partners smooch..... for study purposes ofc lmao- actually he uses his visor to take pictures sometimes- let the man be a little horny in peace smh. and don't worry Uzi and V know all this- they just wanna tease him a little bit :p

Uzi and N usually chit chat while they are in the bed until they fall asleep- but V prefers to just hug Uzi on the side listening to them while they talk until she falls asleep too

they love going around in human based areas with shops and stuff to find books to read together or any other fun human stuff they can find- maybe table top games? lol- V goes for the sports stuff. she kinda wanna try hitting something with a bat...

These are factual shit taliesin or others said about him, my personal opinions or notes are between the [ ] thingies

(in case someone wants the source of X thing, just ask me)

• contrary to percy de rolo (who is trying to find his place in the world) molly ALREADY found his place in the world, the world has to contourt around him and he's not changing anything about himself, fuck all

• he has a clear, strong moral code that he follows strictly, even if his actions seem random. [and thats why i dont consider him "chaotic" in the alignment chart, even if he SEEMS chaotic]

• talking about alignment, he also doesnt have any, he def doesnt fit into the "lawful" category, but also "neutral" doesnt sound like him, which makes sense because taliesin based molly (among other things) around the idea of a character NOT being able to fit into the alignment chart, as if if he ever picked a weapon that only worked for people of certain alignment, the weapon would never work with him. Everything explodes [this is all mentioned in the m9 wrap up, regarding mollys creation]

• molly doesnt want to be lonely / is lowk afraid of being so. He doesnt know what its like to be alone because he literally has no memory of ever being so; he has always been in company. And so he's NOT eager to find out.

• he likes complex group dynamics because he's used to them, so being with the nein feels comfortable. (Taliesin said, he literally just went from shifty group to another shifty-unhealthy-group) Still, he knows theres some shit they have to work out in terms of "you fuck everybody over, but THIS group of people you dont fuck with"

• to the previous point, molly is very serious about the little group he has, be it the circus or the nein, you DONT fuck this people over, you may start a war with the dynasty, but THIS group you dont fuck with, and i believe molly has explicitly said this himself (i think around ep12. not the dynasty part though, he doesnt know what a kingdom is in the first place)

• hes damn functionally illiterate, dont care about books, and hes not that bright [*looks at that 10 int*]

• hes a classisist (no explanation needed. I also am not going to rewatch 26 episodes rn to psychoanalyse this part of him. Give me 2 years)

• he doesnt care about anybody's backstory, he doesnt have one, "doesnt see the point in the mess" he will wait until you ACTUALLY do something fucked up and then we'll see [taliesin said that he doesnt think thats a good way of thinking,, but well. • he didnt learn any name of any Town he went to "because WHY. BOTHER." [This is very conected to the whole illiterate deal, he really doesn't know anything about the world and doesnt care (take for example this moment)]

• he's his own moral compass. He's the center of his own moral reality. He's a deep believer of "I am smart enough to not do anything wrong UNLESS its entirely by accident. So anything i do on purpose cant possibly be wrong because i'm never a wrong person" [yes, thats fucked up LMAO, & im quoting this from taliesin]

• he has a "experience everything" mentality because of the fact that he lost an unknown number of years of his life, and suspects that his past will eventually come and bite his ass and.. he probably wont survive it. so he doesnt think he will be here for long

• theres a definite fear of mortality (?said taliesin) [which is weird since i thought he didnt care? aw man, now his death is even sadder -> this was written when i wasnt over molly's death, okay?]

• he thinks all tm9 is attractive "this is a very shaggable group" [-said taliesin in a panel-]

• he takes advantage in people making assumptions about him and hes comfortable with it meaning, if you're a weirdo who enters a room, the way people react about you, tells YOU all you need to know about THEM [In case its not clear, skip this if it is: if when people see you the first thing they do is side-eye you and make assumptions about you, then you easily learn you dont even need to engage with them, "why talk with someone who makes assumptions abt ppl like that? They've got problems"]

• he was a BAD roommate. Take this however you want, but for example, he would be casually naked, [at least often enough for taliesin to say this]

Just read and watched Wind Breaker

No it's not about the jacket type lmao. Or the manhwa. There is a space between the words here.

An entire school of deliquents becomes the protector of their city and beats the shit out of other gangs who comes bringing harm.

Story time 1: I wont deny it. First time I saw the synopsis of the manga, I was like "When are they gonna study then???" I've read Tokyo Revengers and had questions like "where are the cops? when do they study? who covers the health insurance and hospital bills?" I felt like unlike TokRev and its time travel main plot that allows me to consider all those questions unimportant, WB was going to amplify those questions because its entire premise is as straightforward as that synopsis and it seemed to be a story of daily occurences. So I initially didn't give WB a further thought.

Story time 2: Sometime later, which was when Vol.21 Cover was first announced, someone in my Twitter timeline went insane over it like "OMG our MC Sakura looks so happy! He deserves to be!" I was like "Huh, so he isn't?" "For a happy face, it's so awkward" And "Wait, his name is Sakura??" This is where I decided to pick up the manga.

After I reached that point in the manga, I too went SAKURAAAAAAAAA BE HAPPY 😭😭😭😭😭😭

So I actually read the manga first until before Sakura vs Togame, then I watched the anime until the latest episode (which was S2E2 at the time), then I resumed the manga until the most recent chapter. So I had a different kind of experience.

I'm sorry but I come from TokRev first so I can't help but comparing the guys. Like, there is a Takemichi-lookalike (Nirei), Baji-lookalike (Sugishita), Black-haired-Mikey-with-eyepatch-lookalike (Suo), Kid-Mikey-if-he-was-already-looney-lookalike (Tomiyama). I kept mistaking Nirei for Takemichi lmao.

And then there is a BnHa's Todoroki's lookalike (Sakura). Idk how many times I mistake black-and-white Sakura fanart for Todoroki ones until I realize the absence of the scar.

All my assumptions in Story Time 1 was right, you gotta at least wonder once. But fuck, all those questions are totally not important lmaoo.

It might make more sense if Bofurin is a straight up street gang like Shishitoren and KEEL, or an organized group like Roppo-Ichiza and Gravel. But I guess its also cute that they have different dynamic as high school students with too much adrenaline. I mean, not that I don't somewhat understand lmao.

Once you set aside all those questions, it's a pretty down-to-earth and grounded story. And dare I say, a feels-good one. It's full of humane story about accepting yourself and healing from painful memories.

I think it's more of a sports/slice-of-life anime. Just consider "deliquents beating the living tar out of each other with bare hands" as sport. In fact, Nii-sensei does treat it as sports manga according to an interview.

I love that winning the fight is not the point. In fact, up until this writing is made (chapter 178), it's always like that. There is something more important than winning the fight on hand.

I thought Shishitoren arc is kinda like Tournament arc which is weird enough that it's the first serious arc. But midway, I noticed the weird results and realized that it's really not about winning the fight.

There is a more important thing at stake here: relationship between other people. And I think that's very humane of a central theme.

I love the characters so much. They are all so well-written and interesting.

My favorite character, if it's not obvious enough, is SAKURA HARUKA-KUN <333333. Like, MY BOY. He deserves all the good in the world. He's so fucking cute and hilarious lmao. His name is also very pretty (and rather sadly fitting too. Haruka (遥) means "distant" or "far away.").

On a deeper level, I love that he's getting all the love yet he is unable to accept it immediately. It's pretty realistic. He can't 100% change in just ~2 months when he has deep-seated trauma for his whole 16 years of life. Even when he desperately wants to, he just can't. He can only take one step at a time and even that takes a lot of courage.

I personally think that the fact that he reaches this point in just like 2 months is amazing achievement in itself. And it's only possible through the entire Bofurin and Makochi Town's kindness.

If you like seeing a rescued stray cat being healed by love and kindness, this is it for you. In fact, Nii-sensei actually likens him to a rescued cat lmao.

I love the food details in the story. So many food. I think the existence of food is one of the most slice-of-life thing ever, and it's a very comforting and grounding factor. Or maybe I'm just a foodie idk.

I also love the fashion too. Is it customary for deliquents manga to have great fashion detail lmao. Especially for WB, I love that everyone's fashion sense is so detailed and diverse. Half of the characters notes are dedicated for their fashion preferences after all. Just look at Suo's chinese clothings. Or Kotoha's collections of earrings. And then look at Sakura and his five white t-shirts.

I think so far, THE best scene award goes to the rope-field scene. Iykyk. That is genius, beautiful writing right there. I have no intention to describe more, it's an experience you have to undergo yourself. Nii-sensei is insane for that.

The anime is very solid. It's faithful to the manga but it's not like you just read the manga twice, if you get what I mean. For example, the anime opens with a different scene from the manga. The anime's version brings more tension and nuance to what kind of story it is and what kind of character Sakura is.

But most notable anime-only scene is the glass cracking scenes during Tomiyama's breakdown. That was amazingly beautiful. Turns out Nii-sensei also thought the same, according to the interview.

And also the fight scenes. I especially love how Cloverworks bring the fight scenes alive. It was amazing already in the manga, but in the anime it's even more impactful. For example, I feel like seeing Togame fight is even scarier in the anime lol.

Lmao I thought Sakura vs Togame was crazy already. But then there was Kaji vs Natori in S2 and I was like "THIS IS A HIGHSCHOOLER FIGHT??" I'm glad I saw it in anime first because that sequence was straight out of an action movie lmao.

I love the cute scrapbook-like characters' information notes. Yes it is important to me to know what kind of shirts they own, what's in their pockets, what food they are into, etc etc. I love character notes like this.

Also funny that some of the "secret" sections actually are brought up in the main story or even become a plot point. (For example, someone with U in their name....)

And oh I love the information about the Furin High maps. At this point, the rooftop might as well be the coolest hotspot in the entire city.

Excuse me while I jam to Natori (different Natori lmao)'s Absolute Zero and Shytaupe's It's Myself. I love the lyrics so much it's so fitting with Sakura and Furin for the former and Sakura himself for the latter.
