I’m convinced that people who hate Mabel have a) never watched the show and/or b) don’t have siblings. Because until they encountered Bill Cipher for the first time, there was nothing to suggest Dipper’s obsession with the journals was more important or valid than Mabel just wanted to have a normal summer with a whirlwind romance. And even after incident with the portal Dipper and Ford actively keep everything secret from Mabel and Stan so she has no idea of the stakes or what Bill is capable of. Add to that that her dreams of the future were all suddenly crumbling around her all at once, and it is perfectly reasonable if not expected that she would fall for an immortal chaos demon’s tricks.

Also, most of the stuff involving the journal that goes wrong is Dipper’s fault but he still pretends like he and Mabel are in it together. And those of you who are siblings know that Mabel takes it extremely well. Like if I had accidentally sold my body as a puppet to a demon and the only way I could ask my sibling for help was through a sock puppet, I would expect them to help, but only after they spent a good half hour laughing and making fun of me with the additional consequence would be that any time I ask them for a small favor in the future, they would remind me that they were the one to save me from my stupid mistake, so no, they won’t pass me the salt.

(Also, can we just take a moment to see the giant double standards when it comes to the romances that Dipper and Mabel’s have. When Mabel pursues a romantic people treat it as irrelevant and getting in the way of the plot even when it doesn’t. But when Dipper tries to win Wendy’s affection, people expect Mabel to drop everything, sacrifice her pet, mess with time travel to help set up a scenario which Dipper can win a carnival game as a flex.)

Me and my brothers used to play this game where we'd make up how such and such a person would solve a Rubik's Cube (e.g. Alexander the Great would solve a Rubik's Cube by peeling off all the stickers so the whole thing is one color and that means he won, Stalin would solve a Rubik's Cube by having the cube shoved up Ernő Rubik's ass until he agrees to publicly declare that Stalin is the best Rubik's Cube solver ever in history) and I'd like to do a post like this for The Beatles but I suspect it would exclusively appeal to me and my brothers

The method that worked for me was making mini comics, people really like those! Slowly introduce people to the idea lol

I gained like 2000 followers here BEFORE starting the official comic just doing that :>

Uhm, my AU was easy to introduce because it's not THAT different from normal utdr content

So people saw my posts and and thought, OH! UNDERTALE CONTENT YAY! wait... what do you mean Papyrus is Gaster?

That's where they might catch interest and scroll through the blog

But I think that worked for me because of how similar my au is to regular undertale, people fell right into my trap lmao

Hey. In the gentlest way possible, can we as a community not roleplay in the alterhuman/otherkin/fictionkin/etc tags?

Listen, I'm not judging anyone for roleplaying. I do it too! But not here on this blog, and especially not in the tags, because they're not for that.

The point of a tag is to sequester similar topics together. When the tags are clogged with roleplay, it becomes so much harder to find the core of the community: the questions, the experiences, the actual real daily life of alterhumans and nonhumans. This is already a niche community, some subsections vanishingly so. How are we supposed to connect and converse with one another when it becomes a chore to filter the noise of intentional roleplay blogging from authentic alterhuman experiences? How are we supposed to learn from each other when even finding posts about the alterhuman experience becomes an extra hurdle to clear?

I'm not saying you can't have fun with your alterhuman and/or nonhuman self; far from it. This post isn't about humor or memes, this is about spamming intentional roleplays in the alterhuman tags. Please, please don't crowd out authentic posts with roleplay. It's not appropriate. There's a time and a place for roleplaying, and the alterhuman tags aren't it.
