I find it kind of stupid how 'half full' vs 'half empty' is framed as an optimist/pessimist thing. If it starts full and gets halfway drained, it's half empty. If it starts empty and gets halfway filled, it's half full. If you don't know the starting state it's both simultaneously.

LITERALLY MY FATHER

(not the man in the video but)

My father who is ex-navy, knows how to survive in the wild for weeks on end, rides a Harley he half built himself, bakes a cake for me and my sibling every year for our birthdays.

He gets up at 4:00 am to start baking

He will make whatever kind of cake we want, flavor, design, shape, WHAT. EVER. WE. WANT.

He even bakes the cakes for the family that is friends with ours. There are 16 kids in that family. The family itself have joint birthday parties for all the kids born in that month.

Before my dad started baking them cakes the birthday kids shared a huge sheet cake.

He bakes them each individual cakes, customized to whatever they want.

He LOVES doing this

One year, I asked for a store bought cake....

He cried.
