i will ALWAYS be salty abt the ed-sheeranification of one ok rock (one of my fave personality-building anecdotes i explain at parties to ppl getting to know me) but the fact is that takas voice is soooo hot he could sing the words on the back of a milk carton to the tune of a t*ylor sw*ft song + id probably still listen to him. sorry
#well actually that isnt true bc i very rarely ever listen to oor anymore. theyve made so much terrible music its tainted their good shit#but like twice a year i go back thru their discography and reminisce over niche syndrome.....a guy can dream#whenever they release new stuff i always get my hopes up theyre gonna go back to their roots and they never do. saaad#but i have this weird grandmotherly love for taka whenever i see him in music videos for his new stuff im like aww how Nice :^)#wish he hadnt outgrown his emo phase but thats ok im glad hes enjoying himself and the band seems to be popular still#.diaries#i do have a big old soft spot for ambitions era even if its kinda mid. its associated w a lot of nice memories i have of my ex#if nothing else i appreciate how earnest their music was around then.... god listening now and i still know All The Lyrics lmfao#still mad they replaced the japanese vers with an english rerecord for release outside of japan tho. that was unnecessary 😐#maaann my ex had VERY different music taste to me but its sweet how many bands are rose tinted for me bc of them#like theres some stuff i would never have voluntarily listened to. but listening to them talk excitedly carved a niche in my ears#they made me a bunch of playlists for things they found that they thought id like.. i still have some of them saved/backed up#im surprised some of the ogs still exist tbh bc they unfollowed me on spotify + privated/deleted a ton of shit like a year ago#but a couple r still standing.. idk id like to think maybe they left them bc they had some nice memories too. i could never hate them man#SORRY FOR TALKING ABT MY EX AGAIN this music just takes me right back. im v glad we're not dating or in each others lives anymore#but also u cant be that close w someone for that long without them having a lifelong impact on u. or at least i cant anyway#and its nice to remember them fondly sometimes even if we were both cunts to each other. hope theyre doing alright wherever they are#god i need to start dating again its so fun i miss it so much. once im settled in the new place + i have a secure job....#i mean ik who id LIKE to date but im pretty sure that aint happening lmaooo. ill get over it i love meeting new ppl anyway#okay enough rambling im gonna go make lunch if ur reading this far ily hope ur having a nice day XOXO aaaaand post

Hi! If requests are still open can i request mk1 men with an angel reader? Thanks!
author note: Earthrealm guys for my own sainty🫡
Johnny Cage: -"Have you fallen from Heaven? Cuz' you are an angel." "It's exactly what happened." "…Seriously? We should totally make-" "No." -The man is so curious. -He flirts here and there, but mostly, he just wants to know how angels work and how it is up there. -Maybe some juicy info will slip, and Johnny will be able to make a movie out of it…
Kenshi Takahashi: -When everybody told him you are an angel, Kenshi thought you were just a nice person. -When Johnny told him you are an angel, Kenshi thought you were also beautiful. -For sure, Kenshi never thought of feeling feathers when you protected him during a fight. -"So you are an angel." He says, breathless. "Yeah, nobody told you?" -"Will my sins be forgiven?" "My Lord welcomes every sinner seeking redemption."
Raiden: -Literal angel meets metaphorical angel. -Every time you two meet in the same room, you make it shine for how nice and good you both are. -You are both so sweet that Lao swears that some of his teeth rooted. -"Can I touch them?" "The wings?" Raiden nods. -Best experience ever: 10/10. It felt like caressing a cub and heart is relaxed better than any medicine could ever do.
Kung Lao: -"You are wayyy too nice." "I'll take it as a compliment." -He teases you restlessly, Lao wanna see the angel snap back at him. -If only he knew what you went through, he'd understand that his chances are less than zero. -The real surprise will be when you'll tease him. -"You are so cute when you blush, Lao." "????" -He is going to get you back for this.
Liu Kang: -"Do not be afraid." "Did you just steal my line?" -You are not the first angel he has seen, but it's been so long since he has been in contact with one that he'll try to keep you as long as possible on Earthrealm. -"Your presence has been healing for everyone. They hope you'll stay here for much longer." "Aren't you sure that "they" isn't just you, Liu Kang?" -Seeing him choke on his tea was a real sight, almost heavenly.
Geras: -It's not the first time Geras meets an angel, so he won't be surprised by you. -He likes to chit-chat, tho! You are both so old you for sure have a lot of stories to tell to each other. -Geras appreciates your help keeping the timelines safe, so he'll always be ready to give you a hand if you need it.
Bi-Han: -"What should I be afraid of? You are nothing more than a mythological chicken." Shows angelic true form "…fuck" -He won't treat you with any respect unless you defeat him in a fight. -Your true form will haunt him in his nightmares, tho. -"Repent Bi-Han." -Maybe an angel is the push he needs.
Kuai Liang: -He is so respectful to you, bowing every time he greets you. -Wouldn't mind training with you, and don't you dare go easy on him! -"Are my flames as hot as hell ones?" "Dear, I'm sorry, but I'm not a fallen angel. For sure, your smile is bright as our light." -Congrats! You made Liang blush, shy smile on his face making him uncharacteristically cute.
Tomas Vrbada: -"Have you fallen from Hea-" "Sorry Tomas, Johnny already tried it." "Damn it!" -Tomas looks so sweet that he reminds you of your brothers. -Too bad that then you remember his work… -He is really curious so you'll be asked a lot about your past and family. -"Are my mom and sister fine?" "I'm sorry Tomas I can't reveal anything. But relax, they are in good hands."

COD Masterlist
She dreamed of Kursk last night. There were hands on her as she choked on her own blood. Her eyes were swollen from the beating, and she could count the places where they had buried their blades. She was sick, her ripe-smelling injuries pulsing with infectious heat.
When she’d refused to give them information, they had done the rest for fun.
She was sitting in that chair. The cold, metal seat that became slippery from her sweat and blood. Her ankles screaming from the zip ties around the chair’s legs. Her arms wrenched so far back that she was certain the joints would pop.
Go far away in your head. Go somewhere else. Go be -
The room switched, and she was staring up at him. His features were riddled with shadows. Unclear.  His thick hair was dark in the damp light as it curled over his brow. He lowered his head, bare nose brushing her cheek as his full lips found purchase along her jaw.
“You drive me insane,” he muttered into her ear as he braced his weight above her body. Behind his blurry face, the ceiling oozed. She was still in the cell. She was still there, but he was with her. She had wished for him then, and now, in the magic of her dream, he had come to hold her through the rest of it.
Save me.
Save me.
I want you to save me. I can’t do this. I can’t anymore.
She frowned, palming his chest where his heart beat furiously. Strange. His pulse never rose to such a frantic rhythm. He dropped his hips and pressed forward until he was buried inside her. It was a faraway sensation. Pressure. She felt the idea of their sex. She felt him like a memory, the ghost of his cock stretching her.
Was this the time it had happened? Was this when it took root? He gripped her chin, forcing her to look at him. He opened his mouth. “I love -
The trip wire spouted an alert, ripping her from sleep and causing her to crack her temple against the windowpane where she’d been keeping watch. She'd passed out, apparently.
Thank God, she thought. Thank Fuck.
She couldn’t have another rancid, poisonous dream about Russia.
She rubbed the aching side of her skull, where a goose egg was undoubtedly beginning to form. She’d have to forgo pain relievers due to her own stupidity.
When had she ever fallen asleep on watch?
The alarm from her homemade tripwire jingled again. She snatched her binoculars and pointed them toward the front entrance, where the gravel drive disappeared into shadows. Nothing. It was still twilight - violet blue, but the night fog was lifting enough for her to see fairly clearly. She readjusted her spot on the second-floor ledge before scanning the rest of the gardens, including the hedge maze and fountain. A bush shivered, and there was a flash of pink.
Bingo.
In rainboots and her mother’s nightgown, she fled the room, ran down the stairs, and burst through the front door. It would be a nice bit of action before breakfast.
***
It must have snuck through a hedge or squeezed itself through the iron bars of the fence that lined the property. The grounds went on forever, but she doubted it had traversed the acres of endless green to land near her front door. Most of them were from nearby villages having wandered up the road like they had remembered to follow the asphalt. As she walked closer, the scent of death lingered among the lavender and moss. The air was fertile and rich, and when the breeze fluttered through her hair, it brought with it the earthy scent of wet wool and cattle from the stables.
Against the red-pink light of sunrise, she could see the mist clinging to the lake. She could see the tiny dark spots of houses in the surrounding hills. No lights. She hadn’t seen lights up there for several months. She wondered if it had come from one of those homes, ambling down from the peaks and into her garden.
In the quiet, you wouldn’t know what had happened. No, you’d be too focused on the sheer beauty of Northwest England. You’d realize what had commandeered Wordsworth’s attraction.
It was funny how this was the most time she’d ever spent at Ashcroft Hall. She’d never been particularly attached to her parent’s summer estate. It was beautiful. It was majestic. It was old and full of ghosts, and when she was a child, she’d been terrified to sleep alone in one of its many wood-paneled bedrooms.
Now, she was guarding Ashcroft. Now, Ashcroft had become her port in the proverbial storm.
She didn’t know if she loved it or hated it. She didn’t know how she felt about anything anymore.
The world had cracked. That was the only way she could visualize it. It had splintered down the center, infection cobwebbing outward to raze cities, countries, and continents.
She supposed that she had crumpled with it. The situation in Kursk had removed a vital piece of herself that she had been unable to replace. It was only a coincidence that news stations had begun to report on the infection a month after she’d been rescued.
By then, she’d been put on leave and carted back to her parent's home to recover. No one outside of her team could look her in the eye, and that stung more than the bullets and the knives. Pity. They pitied her, and there was the distinct undercurrent that they all believed she would have been better off dead.
As if she didn’t know that already.
She understood why they’d kicked her out. She was a liability. She was in desperate need of therapy. She wasn’t the same, and she never would be again.
Not after Kursk.
She spent weeks curled up in one of the Ashcroft bedrooms she’d feared as a child. She was numb - practically brain-dead on a cocktail of pills to keep her head together. She watched television. A lot of it. She saw the writing on the wall when the news became fixated on the strange behavior of the recent dead.
A young boy in Fenghuang had woken up mid-burial.
An old woman in Sydney had sat up off her gurney.
A famous singer had been nearly cut in half from a car accident, and there was footage of him crawling across the road.
That image had stayed at the forefront of her mind to this day. She’d thought she was numb to violence and gore, but seeing a corpse dragging his obliterated carcass behind him had shaken her.
Those initial days had been dark. She stopped the pills and instead focused on preparation. She had an underground contact slip into her London apartment and drive her weapons up North. She restocked her father’s armory with AK-47s, submachine guns, and sniper rifles.
She stockpiled candles and kerosene for oil lamps. Seeds. Small livestock in addition to the horses, cows, and chickens they already had at Ashcroft. Batteries. Radios. Medications. First Aid Kits. Flashlights.
She’d been so focused on her project that it didn’t register when the rest of the world realized this wasn’t just the media exaggerating. It was real.
She hadn’t looked at her phone in a week, and when she did, she saw two missed calls and two texts. Two from Price. Two from Soap.
Call me.
Call me ASAP.
But by then, the cell towers and wifi had gone out. The Eastern Seaboard twitched black as the cities fell first. Paris was overrun. New York was decimated. When London burned, she’d been forced to shut the television off. She couldn’t bear the image of it scorched and empty. She did not want to think of the pubs she had frequented with her team blackened and silent.
Had they made it home? They were probably safe and secure on a military base. They were probably in better shape than she was.
After the major cities, the smaller areas were next on the chopping block.
There was screaming. Insistent screaming she could hear from Ashcroft. It rang out like one high-pitched musical note. Fires started. There was smoke slithering from the little towns nestled in the hills. The weather had been crisp. The sky was a raw shade of blue, and she thought it mocked her.
Society was burning, and everything else was lovely.
To make matters worse, she could not stop thinking about Kursk. She could not push it away. It caused her to swell with guilt because everything else had gone to shit, and what was her grief compared to the apocalypse.
There came the point when she chose to bury it. She did what every therapist had warned her against doing. She took Kursk and stuffed it beneath her ribs, behind her liver, where it could not distract her.
She’d set up a radio but rarely listened to it. It was nothing but sticky shrieks for help and aid, and please, where is shelter, food, or a cure? Everything is gone, and we have children.
Gradually, the radio became mostly static. There’d be the occasional clip of a song or a snarling preacher spouting about fire and brimstone as the last vestiges of humanity clung to the airwaves.
She had no room in her for kindness. She felt stripped to her bones, and that’s what she wanted. Bones. Dust. No emotions. No empathy. No love. She thought of the texts and phone calls from Soap and Price, and she assumed the worst. Either they were dead, saving babies, or something equally heroic.
She knew Price. He wouldn’t have just run. Soap, Gaz, and Alejandro would have followed him.
He would have stayed. He would have died fighting because that was just who he was.
She, on the other hand, stayed in place. She bunkered down and made lists.
She was very good at surviving.
***
Its moans shuddered through the gardens as its feet scraped across gravel. She was surprised it could make such sounds. She’d seen several with their vocal cords split into ribbons; tongues chewed to mush. Those corpses so deteriorated from the sun or hard rain that they could only manage a thin whistle. It had to be muscle memory. Even in death, they remembered the inclination to speak and be heard.
She loosely spun the ax in her hand as she studied the intruder.
“How’d you get in here, hmm?” The question slipped between them, echoing in the pleasant morning quiet. The garden was a riot of colors: magenta tulips, cream-white and orange daffodils, violets, and golden primroses. Amidst the fruity sweetness was the cloying scent of decay. Insects buzzed. The wind rustled the magnolia trees.
The maze of hedges was beginning to lose its shape and would undoubtedly grow wild as time passed. The shrubs were distorted, and the grass was too long.
As she closed in, it jerked its head at her scent. For a moment, she felt that tantalizing bite of adrenaline. Every drop of her blood pulsed between her ears. Her heart throbbed as she lifted the ax just as it twisted around to look at her.
Its foggy eyes were unseeing, the pupils unevenly dilated. Its flesh was a myriad of shades, not unlike the colorful garden around them. Purple. Green. Yellow. White. A few wet strands of hair were clinging to the crown of the skull. She could see inside its chest where the brown lungs had shriveled within a mottled rib cage.
When she brought the ax down, it grunted. The bone split. The blood was sluggish and the color of tar. It had been a person once. A woman. Her terry cloth bathroom was still attached to what was left of her arms.
She swallowed thickly, wiping the blade of the ax on the ground. The blood and gristle smelled terrible, but it was impossible to escape it. It had almost become familiar.
She was lucky. Ashcroft was located on hundreds of acres of land. She bet the cities were far worse. She bet that death stench hung over it like a fish bowl.
She glanced back at the Jacobean estate. It was certainly a fortress with its turrets, towers and red sandstone facade. The place dated back to the sixteenth century and had been altered and renovated due to fire and two World Wars. It was far too big for her to care for herself. The staff had fled or were infected. Her parents had been dead before everything exploded, and they had left the damn thing to her. Fresh from the medical facility, she’d shown up to a home she hadn’t considered hers in years.
It would fall apart; the grounds would turn back to nature. For now, she had opted to inhabit sections. The kitchen, the library, the billiard room, and the master bedroom with its bay windows that offered a perfect view of the main path to the front gate.
With her foot, she nudged the dead woman onto her back. The shriveled corpse looked disturbing against the emerald green grass. She’d need a wheelbarrow and gloves to remove her.
She sighed, turning her face toward the sun and allowing it to warm her skin.
She’d handle the body in a minute.

“Nice form, Slim.”
She spun around to find Bambi staring at her from the veranda. Clad in ratty shorts, a sweat-stained tank, and knee socks, Bambi looked like a washed-down version of a pervy uncle. Gone were the strappy heels and Selkie baby doll dresses. No more black cards, Ibiza, or Annabel’s.
“I think dad used to wear that same outfit,” Slim quipped, and Bambi narrowed her eyes, chin thrust out and nose tipped upward with her special kind of arrogance.
“Times are dire, G.I. Jane,” she huffed, gesturing to her outfit. “I’m too lazy to wash this shit by hand so it shall serve me another day.”
Slim laughed. Bambi was disarming and unpredictable. Gorgeous and sometimes mean as a snake though the apocalypse had humbled her a bit.
“You look gross,” Bambi remarked as she folded her arms over her tits. “Think there’s some brain on you.”
A bit. Humbled a bit.
Truth be told, Slim probably would have drowned herself in the lake if it hadn’t been for Bambi. Two months into the end of the world, her childhood best friend showed up at her door. She was dirty, her hair greasy, and her face gaunt, but her dark eyes still sparked with life. Everyone was dead, but Bambi, spoiled and regal, was burning with a vivacity that Slim no longer felt.
She’d run from London before they started shutting down the exits.
“I knew you’d be here,” Bambi had whispered before throwing her arms around her neck. ‘I fucking knew it.”
Slim was so stunned that she didn’t even check her for bites. Bambi’s mouth brushed her ear, her fingers clenched in her t-shirt. “I knew that if anyone could survive this, it would be you.” She pulled away, dry, pale lips cracking around a smile. “You can protect me.”
She’d had a car for a good part of it, but things fell apart by Manchester. The traffic was unbreachable. Someone started shooting.
“I hid in the backseat with a blanket for maybe two days. I remember two dawns, at least. No one gave a shit about the cars because the roads were blocked. People shot at each other instead.” Bambi sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. “A bullet went through my window, and I stayed frozen. There was this guy - this kid, maybe seventeen, who’d been shot in the head, and he fell across the hood of my car like crazy perfectly. It was so weird. I’d never seen someone dead, and I remember thinking about how you saw people die all the time - you’d killed people and survived so much, and maybe this was a sign, and so I realized I had to get to you.
“Assumed I’d still be in Cartmel?”
“Last we spoke, you were there, and I figured it’d be better than any of the cities. Plus…” She’d grinned, and it had lit up her perfect face. “You have weapons.” Bambi suddenly held Slim’s face between her hands and kissed her firmly on the mouth. It was sour and stale, but she allowed it. “Now, I’m fucking knackered, you beautiful bitch. Where’s the kitchen and the showers?”
Bambi never told her what she had to do after Manchester to reach Ashcroft, and she didn’t press.
The very thought of Manchester had left her sick and shivering. It only brought recollections of him. Was he out there? Had he been on a mission on the opposite side of the world when everything burned? Did it even matter because surely she’d never see him or any of them again?
“Slim!” Bambi snapped, violently wrenching her from her memories. “What are we doing with that?” She pointed to the dead woman in the grass. “It’s ruining the pleasant vibes of our home.”
“Do we have people coming over?”
Bambi smirks and lifts an eyebrow suggestively. “You never know, old girl. One of these days, some fit fucking gents may wander up the road.”
“Because every person who’s tried to trespass has been so attractive.”
“Well - you keep shooting them.”
Yes. In the beginning, she had been ruthless about it. In times like these, you had to do what was necessary, and she had no interest in taking a chance. It was the people you had to watch out for. Not the dead, but the human beings who’d kill them just for her armory alone.
She fired a warning, and if they continued, then they were fair game. It was always the mean-looking ones, too. Beady eyes and ponchos, waving shotguns like they were playing at war. They’d see Red with her marksman rifle in hand and immediately relax. palms up as they continued forward.
“S’alright, birdie. We’ll keep you safe, yeah? You can’t stay here alone. Girl like you won’t last-”
She’d blow their skulls after that.  She didn’t lose sleep over it.
What had Price told her? We get dirty, and the world stays clean.
Red would get dirty for both of them.
“Get the wheelbarrow,” she ordered, abruptly switching lanes. She turned away from Bambi’s scowling face, tucking her hair behind her ears. It had grown so long that even Bambi had offered to cut it.
Your hand-eye coordination is awful. Remember the last time you tried giving me a haircut?
That was twenty years ago, you daft cow. Who is going to see it, anyway?
I can still be vain about some things!
“I’m only getting the wheelbarrow because I know you do all the dirty work,” Bambi declared, shoving her socked feet into too-big loafers that had belonged to Slim’s pa. She began to shuffle toward the ravine at the rear of the property.
“You’ll be bludgeoning the undead soon enough,” Slim yelled after her. Bambi threw up a middle finger.
It was strange. Everything. At times, their world at Ashcroft felt normal. They could spend days drinking to oblivion without ever going outside. They’d draw the curtains and light the fireplace in the study, sliding from the velvet couches to the carpet as they giggled about stupid things. Their mouths smeared berry-red from the wine they’d filched from the cellar. They’d play cards and smoke the cigarettes they’d found in her mother’s nightstand.
“So, how were the men? They probably were all over your ass.”
“They were nice.”
“That’s all you’re going to give me? I’ve told you about that Duke -
“They were good to me. There isn’t much I can share.”
“The world’s over, my love. Afraid there’s no regime to punish you.’
“I know.”
“Fine, then. How about this? Why did you leave?”
***
“I think I’m going to head into town,” Slim announced over their lunch of biscuits and peanut butter. There was a whole pantry full of canned vegetables, bread, and hard cheese. There was a greenhouse, a garden, and small animals, but neither of them knew what they were doing. She couldn’t exactly google how to plant crops or what flourished in what season.
Bambi frowned. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
Slim leaned back in her chair as she tugged her hair into a knot. The sun was bright today, flooding through the windows and over the kitchen table. “There haven’t been many zombies lately…I want to see the status of the village and get a sense of things.”
“Sounds like a dumb idea.”
“We’re far enough away that we wouldn’t know if danger was coming until it was at the gates.”
Bambi leaned forward, resting her chin in her palm. “And you would shoot them before they got to the door.”
Slim shook her head. “Houses like these are more valuable now than ever before. They’ve functioned for centuries without electricity or heat. Lots of land. Private well for clean water. An army could decide to overtake us, and I can’t hold down the fortress by myself.”
‘I’ll help!”
“You can’t shoot.”
“Give me an automatic weapon, and all I have to do is aim in the general direction.”
“That’s not how it works, B,” Slim said as she massaged her temples. The headaches were becoming frequent. “I need to go regardless because I want to see if the pharmacies have any antibiotics left.”
They had several first aid kits, and when society was just beginning to rupture, Slim had collected what she could. Still, she was anxious that they would undoubtedly need more in the coming years. Anything could happen.
The scar over her belly pulsed with phantom pain. It hadn’t stopped since Russia, and she doubted it ever would.
Bury it. Bury it. That time is far away. The chair. That empty room with the dingy cot and how the metal squeaked and screeched with every movement.
She ran through a list in her head of what she needed: penicillin, electrolyte powders, moxifloxacin, oxycodone, and prednisolone.
Lists helped. The clinical beauty in the simple pattern of words kept her from spiraling into ugly thoughts.
“I could come with you,” Bambi offered. “Watch your six as they say?”
As they say.
This was the time Slim felt an overwhelming tenderness for her friend. Bambi looked frightened for her, and while Slim was primarily responsible for keeping them both alive, she understood it went deeper than that.
She placed her hand on Bambi’s wrist, fingering the Cartier bracelets that no longer mattered. She couldn’t sell them. All they’d be suitable for was to be melted down for useful things like bullets, but Slim was the last person to begrudge someone their little luxuries.
“I appreciate the help, but I can do it faster on my own.”
“Fine,” Bambi conceded. “But look for Xanax.”
“Of course.”
“Maybe, condoms.”
***
On the journey into town, it began to rain. She’d taken one of the horses, Biorn, and his damp black mane gave off a musky, animal stink. There were cars at the Ashcroft manor, but using them seemed risky. The engine would rumble and spit and no doubt draw attention to her. She also didn’t want to waste the gas.
Clad in a simple t-shirt and jeans, she tipped her head back to stare up at the sky. The clouds were slate gray and swollen. She opened her mouth to taste the rain, feeling high off the perfume of petrichor and sodden leaves. She was cold, but the chill woke her up. Her fingers twitched around the reins.
Her hair stuck to the nape of her neck like a leech.
She missed fighting. She missed the finality of a mission. You either died or you succeeded, and then it’d be over. Now - it was for always. Now, her mission was endless.
She sighed, shaking her head.
It was dangerous to crave violence. She feared what she would unleash in herself and what she’d have to face. Kursk. Him. The very debilitating emptiness he'd left inside her. It festered and spoke to her when her mind was most at rest.
“Stay alive, duchess.”
His enormous palm cradled the back of her skull as he stared down at her. “You’re the best they’ve got. Can’t do it without you.”
Nearing the town, she noticed the first signs of the infection. There were water-logged notices with peeling paint, haphazardly hammered to wooden posts.
Stay Home.
Stay Calm.
Wash Your Hands and Wear a Mask.
It hadn’t been that sort of infection, but no one knew it then.
She glanced at the woods on her right and noticed a pair of tiny rain boots. Focusing, she realized they were attached to a body nestled in the leaves. She knew there had been plenty of suicides. There’d been advertisements for special concoctions that promised no pain, and surely any place was better than the current one.
She grimaced and pressed forward. The pretty village was still picturesque with its cobbled streets and quaint cottages and inns. The River Eaa flowed at a lazy pace. There were burned-out Christmas lights in the trees. Two miles ahead, near the shoreline, was a larger town with more facilities.
The silent, empty village made her skin crawl. There was a stink from the houses. Out of the corner of her eye, she thought she saw something staring back at her in the ivy by the church. She bit her lip as she guided Biorn toward the back entrance to the pharmacy. She tied him to the rear door before stroking his muzzle and kissing his snout.
She wouldn’t go further than the pharmacy today. There was something wrong here. The rain was picking up and making it impossible for her to see or hear clearly. She was at a disadvantage, and anyone could be surveying her.
She was prized goods. The guns strapped to her hip and back. The ax in her belt. Her horse, especially.
Doing one last scan of the area, she slipped through the rear entrance.
***
It smelled here, too, but not as intense. She waited a moment, listening for a groan, grunt, or the scrape of feet on the linoleum. Nothing.
Utilizing the half-dome mirrors in the room's corners, she silently maneuvered through the aisles, heading straight for the pharmacy counter. She was quick about it as she stuffed whatever bottles remained into her bag.
It wasn’t a lot. The place had been somewhat looted. She’d hoped the pharmacist had locked it down during the worst of it. She’d hoped most of the village had gone North, toward the areas that promised “sanctuaries,” before realizing there were none.
After emptying the shelves, she raided the otc medication, leftover bandages, ointment, eye drops, and snacks. Jerky. Chips. Candy. Ramen. She walked toward the front of the store before freezing. There was someone on the ground. For a second, she had thought “mannequin,” forgetting how unlikely that would be. There was no one to clean away bodies. Mannequins didn’t belong in pharmacies.
Slowly she pulled her ax from the loop of her belt before readjusting her form. She crouched, creeping toward what appeared to be a dead man. She blinked down at him. The blood was bright and smelled like pennies as it puddled around his head. His throat was missing, his eyes open and staring at the ceiling. She could distinguish the tendons and ripped flesh. Bits of the white spine. She cautiously reached for the man’s arm to touch his skin. It was still warm, and she lifted it easily. No rigor mortis.
This man had just died. But a zombie wouldn’t leave him here. They’d eat and eat until there was nothing left. Her appearance wouldn’t have registered to it.
She straightened, confused and weary. It wasn’t fear that ran through her, but puzzlement.
Thwack.
She startled and whirled around, eyes scanning from the front window to the rear of the space. There was only the pharmacy’s flag ripping in the harsh wind just outside the door. She walked toward the window steadily, ax in one hand and her other hand poised over her gun.
Perhaps it was the rain? It was coming down hard. Black sky and a heavy layer of fog. Her heart pulsed as she scanned the streets.
Thwack.
She spun toward the aisles, but there was nothing amiss. Her teeth chattered in her mouth. She was soaked to the bone, and every step brought the audible squelch of her sneakers.
Why the fuck hadn’t she worn boots?
Because you got complacent. With your sniper rifle and homemade alarms, you got arrogant in your posh castle in the hills.
Now, she was in the savage, desolate reality of the after. After the infection. After the bombs, the Hail Marys, the useless quarantines, and the suicide juice.
After Russia. After he’d run away from her and she’d gotten captured.
A deep growl sprang from the backroom. She shoved her ax back in her jeans and pulled out her gun. It felt like an appropriate time to use bullets when she couldn’t see her enemy.
Tiptoeing toward the door that led to a storage area, she quietly pushed it open with her shoulder.
Once inside, she had to recalibrate. The sight in front of her didn’t compute.
It was a man. Heavy-set. Pink skin like a pig. His short hair was matted, and he was hovering over a workbench. He raised his arm and brought something silver down.
Thwack.
It was a cleaver.
Thwack.
Each thwack was followed by a wet squelch. She heard something crack.
The room was dark, but there were enough candles to illuminate what the man was chopping.
Flesh. Pink and red and purple. Gristle. Bone.
She found herself unable to breathe. The room was thick with the scent of meat. Blood. Sweat. Innards. It reminded her of Kursk and how those cells were branded in that stench. All the dead before her. All the ones in neighboring prisons who sobbed and gurgled.
She stumbled backward, falling against the door, which swung open and deposited her on the floor. She slipped on the rain-slick linoleum, and her gun skittered away. Without thinking, she scrambled toward it.
There’s one on your back. There’s the ax. Arm yourself with something before-
Something unbearably heavy and reeking fell on top of her.
***
She was fucked. She was really fucked.
It took her a second to realize that the man from the backroom had attacked her. It took her another second to recognize that he was human. He was human and eating -
It didn’t matter. None of it mattered as she attempted to roll onto her back. Her mind was cluttered - swimming with memories of Kursk that she could not punch away. After years of training, she couldn’t come up with a single move that could force the man off of her back.
Adrenaline was pulsing through her bones. Her nerves were fraying - sparking - close to exploding, and she thought if the man buried her further into the ground, her heart would be forced out of her mouth. She couldn’t breathe. She couldn’t think. She tried to reach down for her ax, but he had her effectively pinned. He was grunting on top of her, spitting out obscenities, screeching like an animal, and maybe he’d become one. Maybe, the after had effectively twisted him into something feral and desperate.
Just as her vision began to dim, the man blessedly pulled away from her. She took a deep, bruising breath before flipping onto her back. She tried to kick out at him with her legs, but he was too strong. He was huge, blocking out the ceiling, drowning out the world. He lifted his arm high, a spark from outside catching on the cleaver blade.
Oh fuck,” she hissed before curling inward just as he brought it down.
She felt a burn. He’d gotten her, confirmed when a warm wash of blood sheeted down her shoulder into her shirt. She glanced at it, blinking sluggishly. She wasn’t entirely sure where he’d hit her because a dull throbbing began to pulse throughout her body. Everything went numb. Distant.
She collapsed backward, raising her arms to defend herself from the second hit. The whites of the man’s eyes reminded her of eggshells as they expanded across the pricks of his pupils. He was covered in a fresh splatter of crimson, and she knew it was her blood. The man’s jaw was twitching, his teeth gnashing as she uselessly tried to cover her chest. It would be humiliating if she died like this. She couldn’t leave Bambi -
The man was staring at her, and then he wasn’t. There was an abrupt snap before his head was now turned back toward the storage room. The cleaver clattered beside her. She stared at it dumbly before the weight of him straddling her thighs was gone. He was being lifted clean off of her, picked up like a sack of potatoes before being tossed aside with a guttural snarl.
A snarl she recognized.
Her gaze slid from the cleaver to the figure looming over her. Ghost. The white skull mask seemed pronounced in the gray-lit shop. She could make out the flicker of his eyes, though his expression was unreadable. He was tall and imposing, bigger than she remembered, as he regarded her silently. His bulky shoulders. His tac vest. His boots. His clothes were coated in a thick film of blood and grime. Even the white parts of his mask were smeared red.
She swallowed as she tried to sit up. Her head and torso felt so heavy, and she found herself trying to reach for him. He crouched, his gloved fist covering hers, their fingers threading together. He was so hot - so perfectly, beautifully alive, and he just threw that huge monster of a man like it was nothing. Ghost had broken his neck with his bare hand.
You saved me.
You came.
“Simon,” she whispered, though she found it difficult to focus. His eyes drifted toward her shoulder, and he stiffened.
“Price,” he barked. “She’s fuckin’ bleeding out.”
“Price?” she echoed, bewildered. Ghost tugged at the scarf around his neck before pressing it to her shoulder. It didn’t hurt, which she thought was probably a bad sign.
“They were out back,” he explained. “There were hostiles there, too.”
Hostiles. The word felt familiar.
Suddenly, Ghost stepped away, allowing another to take his place. She grimaced, fingers clutching on air. She wanted to ask him to come back. She wanted to feel him.
“Hello, darlin’.”
Price’s voice melted into her skin, and she returned his smile, though it was difficult. Another appeared beside him. Soap. He frantically opened one of the bags, yanking out gauze and tape.
She tried to say Johnny, but it wouldn’t come. Finally, he looked at her, his expression scrunched and unlike him. “Knew we’d find you trying to take someone down twice your size.” He was teasing her, but it lacked its familiar mischief. He looked truly frightened for her.
Admittedly, she found it comforting. His worry embraced her and made her want to curl into his arms because she had wished for Soap’s sweet face too many times to count in the last year.
Her shoulder twinged.
She frowned before dragging her eyes toward Price.
“Others?” she rasped.
“There are more of us out back. Most of the group.” He gestured to the dead man in the corner. “Couple other bastards like the one there.”
Ghost had already told her that, but everything was swaddled in a haze.
She tilted her head in acknowledgment as she licked her lips, her tongue dry. It was a lot. She couldn’t believe what was in front of her.
“Price,” she murmured. “John.”
His gaze crinkled, and he cradled her face in one palm while his other hand remained firm on her shoulder to staunch the bleeding. She could smell him. Sweat, dirt, and body odor. They’d probably been on the roads for months. She lifted her hand hesitantly before wiping at the oily black blood smeared across his cheek. He closed his eyes as he leaned into it.
“You look different,” she whispered as she grazed her thumb from his temple to his jaw. His beard was overgrown, and she focused on the tiny wrinkles around his eyes as he grinned down at her. Behind him, she thought she could spot Ghost’s massive form.
“It’s so fuckin’ good to see you, Red,” Price uttered, the words cracking within the syrupy wet of his throat.
Red.
Red Fox.
She hadn’t heard that name in over a year, and the implication of it both frightened and soothed her. She felt like it was her mask, her armor. It was who she had been before Russia and the end of the world.
Price’s smile faltered as his eyes darted to the scarf, sodden with her blood. Oh yes - she was injured.
“Really fuckin’ missed you,” Price said with such conviction as if he needed her to understand.
She wanted to tell him the same. She wanted to say how much she missed them.
Instead, she sank back to the floor, Price’s arms still around her back as Soap began to cut through her shirt.

Hiii, I love your firsts series with Adam warlock and wanted to ask if you could do something like that with Minho? Because I saw you write for him too so I wabre to ask but if not that’s totally okey too! I don’t want to pressure you! Have a nice day!
Tease
Minho x Reader
Summary: the first time Minho admits he’s attracted to y/n
Warnings: nothing! You do get sassy asshole Minho & protective Minho (and a hint of soft Minho, if you squint) in one fic tho hehe.
A/N: A little break from the Adam fics with some Minho content! Shoutout to @theblaxkbird for requesting :) wasn’t sure if you wanted it sweet or a little spicier, so I kept it light! It is kind of long [& by kind of I mean very] tho oops sorry. If anyone wants more Minho content feel free to send in requests! Enjoy :)

Tumblr media
The first time y/n met Minho he was… well, insufferable. She arrived in the glade a month after he and the first group of gladers did, & was the first and only woman there. The other boys were either kind to her or afraid of her— either way, they looked out for her and catered to her needs. But Minho? Was an ass.
While the other boys helped pull her out of the box & introduced themselves with a smile, clearly excited to see a girl join the group, Minho led with his famous eye roll & a turn of his heel, walking away in a huff.
Newt apologized on behalf of his friend, explaining to y/n that he wasn’t normally like that, although they had been through a lot in the last month.
As the weeks went by, Minho made it a point to pick on her & tease her, every chance he got, and when he wasn’t doing that, he was simply pretending she didn’t exist.
“Ow! Um, excuse you,” y/n called after Minho when he aggressively bumped her shoulder, cutting her in line. Minho picked up a plate silently, unphased by the irritated girl standing behind him.
Newt rolled his eyes from a few places back. “C’mon Minho, you’re gonna cut in front of the lady?”
“Uh, no, I’m not gonna, ‘cause I already did,” Minho said, looking at his friend from over his shoulder.
Y/n rolled her eyes & swatted the air in dismissal. “It’s fine, Newt.”
After getting her food, y/n plopped down on the soft field a few metres from the Homestead, taking in the warmth of the high noon sun. She ate in comfortable silence, grateful to have a moment to herself in her day surrounded by rowdy boys.
Her comfortable silence was quickly broken by an uproar from the homestead. A chorus of voices erupted, indecipherable. She squinted through the sun, trying to see if she could spot the reason for the ruckus. It died down momentarily, and y/n got up to begin making her way over.
As she approached, Alby stomped out the door with incoherent shouts spilling from his lips, dragging Minho by the arm. Gally followed closely behind, Newt holding him back. It looked like there was a gash across his cheek.
Y/n rolled her eyes.
Why am I not surprised?
She turned around & returned to her spot, watching Alby scold Minho from a distance before leaving him sitting on the grass, ripping it from its roots like a child on time-out. She chuckled to herself, thinking how he was finally getting what he deserved. Then, from her peripherals, y/n saw Minho stand up & make his way over.
Crap.
“Whatcha doing out here?” he asked, hands in his pockets, a large bruise visible on his cheek now that he was closer. His tone didn’t seem hostile for once, but y/n wasn’t going to give him the opportunity to get there.
“What are you doing out here? Tired of getting your ass kicked in there?”
Minho rolled his eyes & plopped down beside her. “You still mad I cut you in line?” He rested his forearms on his knees, his toned muscles peeking out from under his rolled up sleeves.
Oh, god, there is no way this shuckface is gonna disrespect me, act like all he’s done is cut me in line, & then come flaunting his stupid muscles under his tight shirt.
Y/n stood up with a scoff, walking back to the Homestead. The last thing she had was energy to deal with Minho today.
————
“What’s wrong, luv?” Newt said as he approached y/n. “What’s gotcha sittin’ in a bloody corner all by yourself?”
Y/n crossed her arms. “Take a bloody guess.”
The Brit sat down across her. “Y’know, he’s not so bad.”
“All he’s done since I got here is bug me!”
Newt shrugged. “So he likes to tease. He also just took a punch for you.”
Y/n sat up. “He what?”
Newt raised an eyebrow. “He didn’t tell you? I saw him walk over to you outside to I assumed he came over to brag about it. The bugger almost got thrown in the slammer for ya”
“Newt, tell me what happened.”
Newt explained how as she walked outside, Gally made an inappropriate comment about her ass. To everyone’s surprise, Minho warned Gally not to talk about y/n like that again, but instead of apologizing, Gally commented something even more crude (something along the lines of “I’d like to stick it up there”, complete with gestures according to Newt). That’s when Minho really surprised them, lunging at Gally & tackling him to the ground. Gally got in one good punch before Alby finally lifted Minho off of him.
“Don’t worry, Minho definitely got more hits in than Gally did,” Newt informed. “But he was bloody riled up. Ya might wanna talk to him.”
————
When y/n found Minho he was laying in his hammock facing away from her, tossing a rock up & down. He paused for a moment, holding the rock still between his index finger and his thumb, as if sensing her presence, & then resumed just as quickly, as if dismissing it.
“Minho?”
“Whaddaya want, shuckface?”
Y/n rolled her eyes at the nickname & trudged over to stand in front of him.
“I brought you an ice pack,” she said, holding it out for him to take. Minho eyed the ice pack, then her, then the ice pack again, before returning his attention to the rock in his hand.
Y/n rolled her eyes for the second time in 2 minutes. When he didn’t take the ice pack, she walked over to the other side of the hammock & placed it on his cheek herself.
As soon as the cold touched his skin, Minho glanced at her without turning his head, an eyebrow raised in question.
“Y/n, what the hell are you doing?”
“Oh, so you do know my name. I was beginning to think you actually thought my name was shuckface.”
“Damn, shuckface,” Minho emphasized the word & smirked at the eye roll it triggered. “Why you so sensitive today?”
Y/n laughed. “Me? Slim it Minho, I’m not the one who got into a fight over a comment. Hell, if I was as sensitive as your shuck ass we’d be in a fist fight every day.”
Minho groaned in frustration and mumbled to himself. “Of course Newt had to tell you…” Sitting up, he snatched the ice pack from her and began to play with it in place of his rock. “Well, I wasn’t gonna let him talk about you like that.”
“Why not? You talk about me like that all the time.”
Minho wrinkled his nose in distaste for her words. “You think I talk about you like that? I like to tease you, shuckface, not talk about you like some easy skank.” He tilted his head to look at her & shrugged. “And you know I don’t actually mean the klunk I say. I just like when you react, ya shank.”
When her brows furrowed with confusion, he realized she did not, in fact, know that.
“Wait, did you think I was serious? When I’d tease you?”
Y/n threw her hands up in exasperation. “Well, I don’t know, Minho! How was I supposed to know you didn’t actually hate me when the second I stepped foot in the Glade you just rolled your eyes & turned around? You didn’t even bother introducing yourself! I had to get your name from Newt as he apologized for you!”
Minho smirked playfully. “Aw, was the little greenie upset I didn’t give her attention?”
“Slim it, Minho.” Y/n began to walk away. “I dunno why I wasted my time coming here.”
Minho grabbed her wrist. His hand was cold from the ice pack he’d been holding. “Y/n, wait.”
The boy sighed as he pulled her forward to face him again. His head was tilted down but his eyes looked up at her, as if he was embarrassed.
“Look, I’m sorry for ignoring you when you first arrived.” Y/n’s eyebrows shot up in disbelief.
Did he just apologize?
Minho continued. “You’re the only girl in a field of dudes. And let’s be real, you’re attractive. Clearly whoever sent us here knows my type. And when you arrived, ya know, we’d only been here a month, we were just getting things into routine, getting a structure kicked in— things were just starting to get… normal.”
He laid back down in his hammock again, hands behind his head as he regained his confident composure, attempting to mask the substance of his words with nonchalance.
“Not to brag, but I’d already started to build a reputation as a strong leader, & I knew a lotta those shanks out there looked up to me. So when you showed up, I just didn’t wanna get… distracted. But I should’ve been more welcoming. I’m sorry. And if you were actually upset about me teasing you this whole time you shoulda said somethin’, shuckface, ‘cause I just didn’t know.”
“Now wait just a damn second,” y/n said, putting her hands on her hips. “Are you telling me the whole reason you’ve been acting like an ass is because you’re attracted to me?”
“No, I’m telling you I didn’t want to be distracted by you.” He began tossing the rock again.
“Because you’re attracted me.”
“Am not.”
“You literally just said I’m your type.”
“Mm, is that what I said, though?”
“Minho!” Y/n punched him playfully and he reacted in mock hurt.
“Ouch! A girl who packs a punch? Maybe you are my type after all,” he teased.
Y/n looked him up & down, as if measuring what she was working with, then replied with a smirk. “Good.”
With that, she walked away, Minho’s eyes trailing behind her. Before she was out of sight he called after her.
“Thanks for the ice pack!”
Without looking back she shouted her reply, amusement playing on her lips.
“You’re welcome, shuckface.”

BONUS AIRHEADED S/O HEADCANNONS: Zoro (One Piece)
Tumblr media
An: I wanna face plant in his tits. 👉👈
---------
Zoro knows you're stupid
He knows
But he'll still take your advice like you actually know what you're talking about
Resulting in it back firing at him 90% of the time
"Hey! Which snakes are poisonous again?" He asked after getting bit by one.
"Red and yellow will kill a fellow. Red and black are friends of Jack." You recite proudly, remembering what Robin thought you.
"Okay, so what does this count as."
He holds up a bright yellow snake.
"Um.... Probably not venomous."
It was indeed venomous and poor Chopper had a heart attack trying to come up with an antidote.
Especially after Zoro kept insisting 'he was fine' and 'he'd tough it out.'
Honesty, he doesn't care if you're stupid most of the time.
Luffy's just as dumb and look at him.
Well, maybe don't. But it doesn't change the fact that he's already following one idiot around.
What's one more?
You leave out food? For the ants??? So they don't get hungry?????
"You're gonna cause an infestation in the kitchen...Wait, never mind. You're doing a good job."
He'll help you put the blame on Ussop just so Sanji can continue to suffer.
"What do you mean you broke the fish tank!?!? Franky's gonna be pissed!"
"That stingray was looking at me funny."
You gesture towards a fish that was not a stingray.
Honestly you give him a headache most days.
But he's too lazy to worry about what you do
As long as you don't rope him in.
He also won't baby you.
Rather, he helps cover up whatever trouble you caused or just laughs off your antics.
Partner in crime, at least until Nami finds out
Then you're officially on your own.
He still loves you tho
Just from a distance 👉👈
You probably came along a little after Thriller Bark.
Joining from the island they were currently resting at because according to Luffy, 'They're really cool.'
Which is never enough reason to join the crew.
But it's not hard to see what he meant when he asked you to 'do the thing' and you tore a tree up from its roots.
Yeah, you can stay
Just don't cause trouble.
He warms up to you after a while.
Namely seeing you interacting with Nami and her actually smiling.
If Nami likes you, then either she was gonna hurt you or you must've been genuinely a good person.
(It's because she'll tell you to do something and unlike their captain, you don't complain.)
You also get on Sanji's nerves, which immediately puts you in his good graces.
There isn't an isolated moment or anything leading up to him falling for you.
He was just watching you mess around with Luffy and Chopper when he realized he liked your laugh.
Then your smile
And when you caught him starting, you waved with an overly excited expression.
Like a puppy
And it makes heat flood to his cheeks, forcing him to turn away.
Zoro is about as romantic as a rock.
There's no way he's going to court you
If you're expecting a date, then I've got some bad news.
However ☝️
Zoro's way of flirting is inviting you to train with him
You're the only one allowed in the Crow's Nest when he's in there.
He's a man who admires strength, what can I say.
Toss him over your shoulder, punch him, hell lift some weights and he's 💗💗💗
It's also a way for him to show off
Slightly flexing to see your reaction. But of course, you're stupid so you don't really notice when he does it.
Tell him he's strong and he'll carry that with him the rest of the day.
If your weapon of choice is also a sword, he's smitten
In the stupid way tho. Like trying to teach you his techniques or critiquing yours.
"You're not doing it right." Is an excuse to correct your form and touch you
If he really loves you, he'll invite you to nap with him.
Sit on his lap or he'll sit on yours. He doesn't give two shits.
Either way, he's tired and wants to cuddle.
Let's you smoosh your face between his boobs if you ask nicely.
Only you 🫵
He'll glare if someone's watching and laughing.
"Yeah? Jealous it's not you?"
Zoro loves fighting with you
He won't hold you back if you want to fight
Not only can you keep up, but you move a little faster than him.
Seeing you sink marines gives him a feeling of pride.
Like, look at you!
That's his S/O!
He'll be excited to see your bounty go up along with his.
NEVER go exploring on an island alone
You two will not be found for days
Somebody who isn't an idiot and has a good sense of direction has to go with you.
It's probably Sanji tbh
Does Zoro get jealous?
He doesn't have the attention span to get jealous
Someone's flirting with you?
Eh, you don't notice it anyway. That person can try but they'll never get anywhere.
You haven't been spending a lot of time with him?
He'll just sleep with the full confidence you'll be back when he wakes up.
He just isn't worried about you losing interest
BUT he'll be damned if that cook comes anywhere near you.
Again, about as romantic as a rock.
He's not gonna be calling you lovey dovey names.
He also finds it embarrassing.
You won't catch him pulling that 'Nami-Swan!' crap.
He'd rather die
But on a very rare occasion where it's just the two of you, he'll call you baby or babe.
Nothing other than that
And he'll deny he ever said it
No confession to be found
He likes you and you seem to like him, so you're his.
Unless you say otherwise, you're dating.

Runaway {pt 2}
Tumblr media
Parts: One , Three
Synopsis: Small Family moment with your Brothers. Ao’nung confesses why he stayed. Ao’nung hissing at his mom
“Sister. I bring you my hunt today” Lo’ak said barging in as if you hadn’t been asleep.
Groaning, you rubbed your head as you sat up. “Eywa, Lo’ak you could have at least made noise just so i wake up normally”
“Sorry”
You could see Neteyam come up behind him and smacked him.
“You’ll be happy to know Everything is well in the family. Cant say Lo’ak hasn’t gotten into a few scuffles here and there however”
“ I have not!”
“Of course he did”
Neteyam nodded. He had always been able to confide with you as you two both had the same responsibility to look after your youngers. “I am guilty of it too tho. Had to make sure this Skxawng didn't get lost as sea as well”
“Translation: He wanted to have fun” Lo’ak Said slicing the fish he had Brought to you
You could only roll your eyes as you took a bit of the fruit that had been left there.
“I heard Ronal isn’t at all too pleased to know Ao’nung stayed here last night” Neteyam said
“HE STAYED HERE? AT NIGHT? WITH YOU?”
“Oh please I was asleep. Apparently the fool slept sitting” you spoke watching Lo’ak prepare your food. Luckily enough he was getting better and better. Perhaps your mother taught him a thing or two. “However, I am going to ask Ronal if she could Teach me. Not train me per say but hopefully something so i can repay her kindness. I mean once this baby is born its really just Tsireya. I would like to help her, you know?”
“Hmm Maybe. If Ronal would allow you such” Neteyam said Splitting the food to you three.
“Where’s The rest of the family?”
“Mom is preparing some food for Kiri and Tuk. I think Dad’s still Out with Tonowari? I dont know for what really tho so i cant really say” Neteyam spoke handing you bits and pieces of the fish and fruit.
It made you smile, and roll your eyes. You weren’t a child but it was nice of him to know he still cared for you as such. Even tho you werent at all that much younger than him.
“I see” You nodded as you continued to eat. You should give Lo’ak credit for the meat being prepared well.
“Its nice all of us. Eating like this”
“Yeah cause we don't eat” You spoke feeling a hard slap to your side. “LO’AK?”
“You know what i mean okay”
“Lo’ak do not hurt our sister. Cant you see she is on her deathbed”
“You both are the worst you know? It would be you dead if i hadn’t stepped in you know?”
It was just this for a while. You didnt count the seconds that passed. You just basked in it. But soon they had to leave. You bid them farewell and to tell the rest of the family to enjoy their night. As you sat there. Waiting. And it hadn’t been long till you heard the jostling of beads at the door.
“You may come in”
To no one's surprise but maybe Ao’nung himself. He stepped in. “Mother brought this” he spoke, handing you the bowl of very still Wet Algae along with some roots that had been boiled alongside it. “Its suppose to help with any internal pain you may feel"
“Thank you” If it was bitter tasting well you didnt have to let him know. “ i heard you got one nasty cramp on your back since you stayed here last night”
“Well you heard wrong”
“Ao’nung. I saw you” You said giggling a bit to see his ears flatten.
“Alright well what do you want me to do? You were basically giving me your last words last night. Cant exactly sleep knowing id be blamed for leaving you alone”  He said moving the mess your brother’s didnt exactly clean up.
“Im sorry i left you on such a bad note” You apologized. Drinking the last bit of the bland broth and chewing on the roots.
“Man. Your Brothers suck at cleaning you know?”
“They tried their best” You could only chew harder. The question is harboring in your mind “may i ask you something?”
“You already did.  But go on” Ao’nung sat in front of you.
“Do you think, I could ask your mother to teach me some stuff? Not Tsahik training or anything of that sort. But just to help her when your sibling is born?”
“I mean i dont think she’ll like it all too much. But she's a reasonable woman. So i know she'll teach you if you ask” Ao’nung took your fruit bowl from you and began eating “But you are the most Reasonable from your siblings too. Given you haven’t gotten into fights and you have learned our ways faster than your siblings. Well aside your sister”
“ i guess you’re right, Maybe i did more good in not joining in on kicking your ass”
“Pff. You think you can beat me?”
“In anything Fish lips”
Ao’nung couldn't help but laugh. Making you smile as you watched.
“I think this is the first time i heard you laugh like that. Its nice” you smiled at him looking at the floor as you felt your hair fall down.
“Was the way i laughed before ugly or something?”
“Way to ruin the moment” you laughed a little rubbing your temple. “I meant in a sense where you aren't laughing out of mocking someone y'know?”
“Oh”
“Yeah oh” You Were getting tired. The food and the pain numbing as you laid down. “Now if you may. You better get going before your mother gets mad for you staying here again” you didn’t wait for a respond. Not that you could hold the sleep coming to you
But Ao’nung didnt move. His spear now at his side as he sat between your sleeping form and the only entrance to this place. He didn't know why. But something in him told him to just protect you while you were in this vulnerable state.
He thought himself crazy. Why was he so persistent on caring for you? Why did he agree with his mother? Why wasn’t he bothered? But seeing you just lay there made him think. Made him fall back on seeing your body heave and wheeze with the pain of having an open wound. You were nearly dead. You almost died. It did not only affect Tsireya but himself too.
He just kept watch grip tightening when he heard the faintest of noise. Tail laying atop of you making sure you kept breathing. Letting out a low hiss when he saw the curtain open. But quickly dropping his ears.
“Ao’nung! Its time you head home” His mother spoke. Stern and cold. Looking down at you as you didnt stir.
“But”
“No, I will not argue this. You are to go home and she will be sleeping here tonight alone. You can see her again tomorrow evening. I dont know why you want to but you can then. For now go home and head to bed” She ordered leaving no room to argue.
She watched as he bit back his tongue. Standing up spear in hand as he walked out. Ronal only turned to look at you. Placing the wet paste on top of the sheer wraps around you. “ I dont get what this boy sees in protecting you. You are safe and alive. It should be enough” She muttered out.
“Nete..yam”
She looked at you. Your worried expression trembled as your hand shook and moved slightly, reaching out. She could only sigh in exhaustion. ‘Soon’ she thought as she had to think. She would rather swallow her pride than let Neytiri help her as she had offered for helping her children. But realistically what other option was there, she thought.
“Hush now. You are well as is he” she could only whisper as if to ease your worried mind. Eywa had saved you, and that should be enough.

HOLY CRAP IS THAT THE MOUNTAIN
THEY SHOWED THE MOUNTAIN?/???
THEY’RE SHOWING THE MOUNTAIN???
HOLY CRAP??
MACAQUE CAME  TO VISIT HIM IN THE MOUNTAIN???
HOLY CRAP???
Small beef here, but the whole point of Wukong’s punishment was so that he could see the world move on without him like, the worst case of FOMO (fear of missing out) you ever done experienced, watching stars die and new ones be born and landscapes change and people pass and not being able to be a part of that. Being totally underground kinda defeats the purpose of that bUT THAT’S SUCH A NITPICK FOR ME TO MAKE BUT I ALWAYS DO WHENEVER THERE’S A VERSION WHERE HE CAN’T SEE THE SKY OR TIME PASSING- DANG WHATS WITH THE CHAINS I’MGBSDLFKMD
man its how angry
HOLY
WOW

what if: dark avatar opal
YES yes omg yes
Listen that would be so fucking amazing. Opal would be an amazing Dark Avatar. Like she would fucking thrive, I think.
Like yes she is a very sweet and nice person, but I have discussed previously how I don't think that would be an issue for a Dark Avatar. As Vaatu represents Darker urges and emotions like anger, which are natural and useful. For example, anger is used for a multitude of different things, you just need to know how to direct it.
And Opal is very good at directing her anger and using it positively. She is able to express her emotions and upset clearly, she firmly sets boundaries with Bolin when he does something she doesn't like, hell, she even scolds Su and Lin for fighting. Opal would, I believe, be able to deal with the potential of Vaatu influencing her anger and negative emotions.
Tumblr media
Opal also fits into Vaatu's aspect as the spirit of chaos almost perfectly. Her entire mini arc is her escaping her mother's established order, embracing a power seemingly randomly given and becoming a nomad, so far removed form her family's stable and rooted lives.
This arc is even reglected by her where in B3 it is styled and orderly while in B4, after she's come into herself as an airbender more, her hair is wild and unkempt.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, Opal is one of Kuvira's biggest detractors, seeing through her bullshit immediately. A lot of this could be due to Opal's personal issues with Kuvira, but I do believe that it comes from a genuine clash of ideals as well.
While Opal holds a grudge towards Baatar for betraying the family, she actually seems to criticise Kuvira more for forcing her citizens to work slave labour and locking her oponents up in work camps. This seems to present Opal and Kuvira's grudge as not just personal but ideological.
Frankly, one of the biggest (and perhaps only) merits of Kuvira's rule over the Earth Kingdom was that she brought order to it after anarchy and chaos.
Tumblr media
But Kuvira's "order" was tainted with opression, dominance and all the other hallmarks of totalitarian regimes. In short, ecerything bad about order, which is Raava's domain, Kuvira represents.
Would Opal being the Dark Avatar, a being meant to encourage chaos not fit perfectly in with this rivalry she has against Kuvira?
Tumblr media
Now, if I were a crazy person I could tell you about how Opal trying to get Korra to murk Kuvira, someone threatening her home and family can be compared to Vaatu riling up the spirits to hurt the people who burnt the forest.
If I were a crazy person I would tell you how Opal growing up isolated and repressed in Zaofu would mirror Vaatu being imprisoned in the tree.
Thank god I'm not a crazy person.
But for real, I think Opal could be a good vessel for a dark Avatar. As I mentioned, before, I think she could take Vaatu's anger and manage it, but she can also be a bit mischevious and playful, which is similar to how Vaatu cracked a lot of jokes and teased Raava before his imprisonment.
I think that she could even sykoathise with Vaatu, since she has been able to seemingly forgive people who had wronged her severely, like Bolin, and even Kuvira (tho I still believe that was mildly coerced lol)
Tumblr media
She would totally foegive Vaatu for trying tk bring about the end times. She'd probably try to befriend him.
Also. Opal being the dark avatar would make this scene absolutely god tier
Tumblr media
Hell, there's even a potential canon compliant way this would fit.
Since the universe apparently brought back airbending to "return balance", and we know that even after defeat, Vaatu would begin to reform as "light cannot exist without dark, yadda yadda", it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine that Vaatu could begin to reform inside of one of the new airbenders.
We could also say that the Avatar cycle could be backwards for the Dark Avatar.
So instead of going:
Water>Earth>Fire>Air
We have:
Water>Air>Fire>Earth
Making the next dark avatar after waterbending Unalaq- Opal the airbender. I think Opal at firat would think that she's the same as all the other Airbenders but then ahe accidentally sets Kuvira on fire while arguing and has doubts.
Thw biggest question of this AU is if Opal would let Kuvira live lol
Tumblr media
It wiuls certainly make a lovely story ans Opal would be an amazing dark avatar

azya: motion, stillness, road, change (for the oc ask game)
Motion
Despite his recovery after stroke being remarkably good Azya still sometimes has difficulty walking straight which makes other people consider him to be quite clumsy. His hand however move very precisely and his handwriting is very nice - he practiced it a lot during recovery. Another thing he does often is sitting down immediately to not tire himself too much.
His clothes are generally very modest, he feels most comfortable when he's covered - part of the reason is that he wants to avoid people looking at him and in part because Ajidiali is rather cold, with the water similar to the Baltics. The first one is also the reason why his clothes are rather plain, tho they become more patterned when he returns to his music career.
Stillness
He gets quite nervous in crowds and puts his hands near nis collarbone, he sometimes also plays with his necklace. He generally sits very still, unless he can't rest his back - he has some problems with balance so it's tiring to him.
His clothes are generally comfortable - fast fashion haven't really become a thing in Ajidiali so it's standard to have adjustments made when you buy clothes.
He's also actually quite tall, compared to other Ajidialians, so he something tries to hide his height by slouching when he sits but he avoids it when he stands up.
Road
So, this is a bit more complicated. Travel on TIWR Earth is very difficult, compared to our Earth. Year 1002 is not an era of medium sized mammals but rather big predators that still roam around outside the settlements, especially in the seas. Extreme storms and winds also make it difficult to travel.
He does travel to the sea from time to time. The coast is largely rocky but has sandy beaches as well. The sea is cold so he wears sensible jacket and rubber boots.
Change
Azya has basically 3 "looks" he goes through in life.
The first one would be from his pop/disco star era, which I would say was mostly based on Agnetha Fältskog of ABBA. Very oblivious choice, he could do Mamma Mia! at that time, no problem.
With time his sense of style shifted towards more bold look of space theme that his band did for three albums.
After that he had this period when he was recovering from stroke, going to open uni, getting married, getting involved in local politics ect... Not very interesting clothing wise. He developed his "adjusted adult" style at the time but it's also the time he got into cutesy mascot animals and aquired a taste for pink and pastels but kept it secret mostly.
And after the TIWR main plot he partially returns to his disco roots but moves it more towards the Bee Gees' blazer + turtleneck combo. He also gets really into weird patterns and puts some kind of a "mystery" (Kate Bush maybe?) into his stage persona.
Bonus Azya in underwear and additional answers under the cut 🚨
Q: Where did that scar on his left brow came from?
A: He hit his head after a concert when he was 24. Quite unremarkable, really.
Q: How tall is he?
A: 155 cm but humans on TIWR Earth are smaller but proportional. Average Ajidialian is 145-150 cm tall so he stands out quite a lot.
Tumblr media
(I fucked up the face from this weird ass angle and didn't care to fix it. Anyway he's a catgirl in real life)
(Also as you can see his hair just continues into his back (well, it's technically fur))

what if idia’s spouse decides to spend 6-4 months every year back in their home dimension and the rest of the year living with him?
★ * • .☆  ’ • ⋆
👀 man I love the hades/persephone trope applying to Idia so much,,,also older!Idia!!!
Idia would have the hardest time during those months fr tho. He’s so used to their company and just. they make his life so much better in so many ways. He has someone he can go to that isn’t Ortho, someone that understands him, and can look forward to being embraced by them after a long day of work...granted he does work from home, but he can’t stay in the comfort of his room all day every day. Basically its so nice that he has someone who loves him and there’s living proof of it around his finger.
But all good things must come to an end. its easy for him to forget that they can’t always be there and he dreads the months that they do decide to go home. He probably hates those months the most because his spouse always goes home during the same ones. and its so obvious when they leave to because he ends up reverting to his old self. he’s still not that social when he’s older, but he’s better. but he goes back to his old roots when they’re not around.
He probably begs for them not to go and its kinda pathetic...in a cute kinda way. Depending on how they dimension hop I can see Idia contemplating on stopping them i.e. if its a mechanism/more tech-y route he’d always have thoughts about making sure it doesn’t work before its time to go, but his spouse would probably catch on (even more so if he had a hand in making it). the more magical routes he has no control over and just has to deal with them going.
If there is a way to communicate between dimensions then it would be more bearable tho!! I can see Idia working on something to make it possible but it probably takes a couple of years?? he’d find a way to make it a reality. trust him. his spouse may not get lengthy messages every day from him but its still nice to talk or say good night every now and then, ya know?
Idia is at his peak happiness those first couple of months when they do come back tho. man is on cloud nine!! his love is home!! and just like when they left, Idia whines to them and tries to get them to stay and not go back. it never works tho. rip to him. maybe one day he’ll win them over and keep them in his world for good tho...

Hellou!Im the persone who asked about requests a while back(Mainly because I didnt wanna overwhelm you if theyre closed) and Im really glad they are.Anyway, could I request Donnie(TMNT),Tamaki(BNHA) and/or FatGum(BNHA)(Also,I hope I havent gone over the character limit) with a slightly chubby s/o?(Insecure or not,you chose!).You dont have to do this if you dont want to tho!Have a nice week❤
Hellou! Thank you so much for being so thoughtful, I’ll have to apologize tho, I no longer write for bnha, I had a huge burnout fand I do not feel comfortable writing about it anymore, I hope a veeeery detailed Donnie reaction to a chubby reader will make up for the absence of those characters! ♥️
Tmnt - Donnie x Chubby reader (Gender Neutral!)
I’ll have to start that all of the boys wouldn’t judge or reject you based on your appearance, being either chubby, slim, tall, short, there are a few attributes that I think each turtle would find it e seeing or interesting, but it’s more… humanly related(?) maybe one day I’ll make a post about it if you guys wanna hear my opinion on it hehe :)
Donnie(generalized) x Chubby Reader:
just like there are certain stuff about the turtles that they like and dislike about themselves, there are stuff about humans who think the same about themselves! and even though Donnie knows there are beauty standards that control many areas in humans society, he still doesn’t understand why people outcast those who are different
I think some of us (readers / shippers) get a bit :C when thinking about Donnie bc in almost every version, he had a crush on April (who is a babe in every. Version. Specially rise, I love rise-April so much, and that’s the only apriltello I’ll let it slide lmao) and that can give a “perception” that he wouldn’t even glance at some of us ( “us” = being a huge group, trans, guys, chubby girls, chubby guys, skinny girls and guys, everyone who doesn’t fit the normie mold I guess- I unfortunately think about that often. Which sucks cuz I gotta remind myself that isn’t true!!! At all!!)
I personally Headcanon Donnie being… I don’t know if interested would be the correct word, but more intrigued with how humans relate to each other, on their first missions, he knew they could… scare some of them off, “frightened by their own prejudice” as master splinter would say, but it’s far more different to hear about it than to actually live it, and it hurts to hear someone scream their heart out just by seeing you
While growing up, he started to notice not only in television, on and off midia, how people would mess around with others on the street just because of their appearance, he knew society worked though this beauty standards, but he didn’t understand it. It didn’t made sense! value someone based on what they look like? There are so many things, so many attributes to make someone interesting, and you gonna pick the most…. Boring? Plain? Vague? Shallow reason to create privilege over others? Really? (And thst enters on the topic of how almost all beauty standards are rooted in white privileged and racism but I’ll go on a tangent about it once I start it and I’ve already said a lot lols)
He could literally go on for hours about this topic (which he has. At least tried with each one of his brothers, but they never really responded well to so said topic “if humans have it bad, then what do we have left?” Raphael barked back once, an attempt to shut him up, which it worked, btw- he didn’t like to go through that direction when thinking about that topic, but yeah, what does he have left?)
He started searching about different aesthetics, ethnicities, he has folders on Pinterest dedicated different body types, cultures, he swears it’s for research reasons, which kinda is, but Donnie’s guilty pleasure is checking “different” people online, those who would deem strange and weird outside the internet, he liked seeing their content and specially their comment sections being filled with wonderful compliments, people relating to different styles and tastes, that gave him hope that there are someone out there with different views of how everyone should be “shaped”, and that maybe he will find someone who thinks he’s handsome and desirable (Donnie, just like Raph, is also insecure about his body, but he’s more… melancholic about it, if you confessed to Raphael, there would be a high change of him pushing you away, trying not to break his heart from actually believing you, while DonDon here, if you both started dating- on some days Donnie would need more reassurance that yes, his partner does think he’s handsome/hot/attractive. Otherwise he might internalize his insecurities and it will be HARD to get a confession “why he’s so upset out of the sudden” from this turtle)
With that being said!!!! (My god I do know how to ramble) without even realizing, Donnie open his “preferences”? Let’s say, Became more open minded than most, While seeking comfort for himself, and when he says he doesn’t have a type, he really doesn’t. There are so many aesthetics that could be attractive! punks, goths, cottagecore, y2k, dark academia, light academia, grunge, fairycore, alt, the list is endless! And don’t get him started on physical attributes cuz there are so many different combinations that some how, people manage to connect the most random ones and make it look great
Donnie wouldnt fall for someone specially bc of their appearance, or that would be the first reason he would fall head over heels, when you think about it, what happened to April it was that she was extremely passionate and dedicated to *insert which cause she was fighting for* and took Donnie seriously, that light up a lightbulb in his head that has never been on before, people showing how ardently they can be into something, how much they care and such, that’s attractive to him, and after that, everything that person does, or is, suddenly becomes beautiful and amazing for Donnie
Withthatbeingsaidpart2- if Donnie did fall for someone more on the chubbier side, their “plumpy-ness” would def be something to call his attention out after he developed feelings, he longed for your hugs, specially after he found out how soft and warm they were, he actually started having more naps after you caught his heart, imaging how it would be to cuddle someone as soft as you while hugging his pillow late at night on his bed (which eventually he would doze off from day dreaming so much)
Talking about day dreaming, Donnie can totally lose himself in his mind, just like with his projects, he can imerse himself in a fantasy about you two easily, which makes him totally freeze when you show up and he actually have to say or do something he has been constantly dreaming about
So please confess first, cuz when I say he can lose himself in his daydreams, that can last for months until he actually gathers courage to do something about it
While in a relationship, Donnie is totally a hopeless romantic, but not the typical “roses and candlelight’s dinner” kind, as your boyfriend, he wants to help you out no matter what, he will make aaaaas many inventions as he can that might increase the quality of your life, becomes easier to do… whatever, literally. And he always longs for your adorable reactions to his gifts
He adores your chubby cheeks, he will! Get lost! in your face! Your eyes! Eveything! He will oh so slowly caress his knuckles softly across it, sliding to your neck, traveling through your arms, he likes to squish your face a bit as well while cupping it when he goes for a kiss, he just thinks everything about you is adorable (and hot at the same time)
He really like the contraste his skin has with yours, it’s so foreign for him and he can’t help but to love how smooth your skin can be, (which leads his mind to ahem. Certain kind of thoughts. If you know what I mean)
Just like he needs reassurance about his appearance, he knows you probably had to deal with more than one unpleasant comment about your physique, so you don’t even have to ask, Donnie is so whipped with you, compliments about you just drip of his tongue, and it’s always so sweet, followed by a pair of soft eyes, always admiring you, plus, Donnie is a science / fact man, he would gather information about other cultures that value more curvy, chubby, bigger people, he would go as far as making a slide presentation how wonderful and more inclusive people are being (even if it doesn’t seams like it, and there’s still a long way to go) he would include real opinions online other than his on the matter that your body is indeed, a snack, (aaaaaand he is once again right, aaaaand just like everyone else you just have to live with it and accept it 😌 end of story)
He would definitely “put up to test” his theory of how amazing it is to cuddle someone who’s more on the chubbier side (and his theory is ✅ correct)
Cuddling becomes a weekly thing for you guys, that being you sitting on his lap, having naps, watching movies together, he loves to create or update his projects with you on his lap, holding you grounds him. Plus it’s easier to speak some kisses on your cheeks that way
He finds out some people on the heavier side stops themselves to live some experiences the hard way, he never wants to make you uncomfortable, ever. But it takes a while for him to understand why wouldn’t you like to, as an example, wear a bathing suit/ swimwear around other people, wearing lighter clothes when it’s absurdly hot during winter time, that you don’t like when he picks you up? things that don’t connect right away. he promises himself to never force you to do anything you don’t want to, but he slowly will try to support you to do whatever you have always wanted to but stopped yourself from doing so bc of your weight
He would take extra time while making out with you, he wants you to know how much he loves your body, every inch of it. Lowkey likes to drag his nails on your tights and mark you
Overall? Donnie is extremely thoughtful, independently of how his partner look like, if they were “part” of some sort of outcast from society, he would take his sweet time to show how important and special his partner is, he is extremely thankful to be able to experience love, something that not only him, but all of the boys, thought it was out of their reach for a really long time, so you bet he’s going to show how appreciative he is oof your love, of all of you 💜
I really tired to innovate a bit here, didn’t want to add the same stuff as other Headcanons that already exists (I mean, Its cute to read how we as writing blogs / authors “agree” on how the boys would react in certain situations, which it is a FactTM that Donnie is a sweetheart. but it’s also good to read new stuff, oooor you know, a new perspective of it, even if it is a “common” / “already done” scenario, you know? )
even if I mostly rambled about Donnie’s personality analysis than to actual stuff he would do or act around an chubby reader lmao, I truly hope you like this! I didn’t proof read this so I’m sorry if there are any grammar mistakes hehe

So I am interested in your view on something about the SVU/OC episodes. Fans have brought up that once again Olivia is helping Elliot with his issues but we are not seeing the same with her. Obviously that ring conversation was on his show so it makes sense that he is the focus. But often we don’t see her putting out her feelings about her traumas.
Do you think that it is the writers fault or is it just in character? Both?
I lean on both though she has been doing that her entire life, nearly 60 years, so I imagine it’s a hard habit to kick. At least all at once though it be nice to see a progression of her putting herself first. I imagine that somewhere deep down she feels if she puts herself first that it would take away someone else’s happiness somehow.
Hope that makes sense.
I do think it's extremely in character for Liv not to be vocal about her feelings. Liv grew up pushing people away, and she never really stopped. We see it throughout 1.0 - she never tells Elliot what happened at sealview, she wasn't gonna tell him about Simon until he followed her to Jersey, she doesn't tell Elliot she's leaving for computer crimes and doesn't talk to him after even tho we all know she wanted to, etc etc. She looks at Fin late in 2.0 and says "you don't talk about your childhood much" and he says something to the effect of "neither do you"; fin is her oldest, closest friend, and there are things they don't say to each other. I think it's a reflex, now, a means to protect herself that is hurting her, but she is too scared to stop.
There is of course the question of who would she tell? Amanda, who is a lil judgy and a lil insincere and has a history of throwing Liv's vulnerabilities back in her face when she's feeling waspish, and isn't really the kind of person you take advice from, and who Liv feels the need to mentor? The new kids? Fin - yes, I do think she could talk to Fin, but they talk around things. They don't go mushy on each other. Fin would do anything for her and he does actually give good advice and they love each other, but they know each other so well, and he knows Elliot-and-Olivia, and I sometimes wonder if she doesn't bother bc she knows he knows it all already, and she knows what he's going to say. Carisi? No, she's his mom, she won't burden him. Definitely not the new kids. That leaves Elliot.
She was more vulnerable and honest in the kitchen with Elliot then she's been with anyone lately, except for that one time she got drunk enough to tell Amanda things I think she hasn't ever told anyone, and given how much she was carrying emotionally at that time it is not surprising she broke. She had to get it out, and then she stuffed it all right back again. Elliot tho, he's still the one she trusts more than anyone. But.
Elliot is the root of her problems. When he first came back she couldn't talk to him bc he couldn't take it, and now she's told him that she wants him, that she's afraid of wanting him, but she can't keep talking to him about it. He wants her, too, and that means he's biased, and she doesn't want to hurt him and she is afraid of what she feels for him.
So where is she gonna go? She's built these walls around herself and now she's so isolated. But those walls have been crumbling, lately. She talked to Amanda in Woodstock. She talked to Elliot in the kitchen. She told Elliot this week that it was just bad timing; bad timing means not now, but not never. And it looks like next week something is going to happen that has the potential to shatter those walls for good.
And I don't agree that Elliot isn't helping her with her issues. Elliot knows what those issues are - that she's afraid, that she believes everyone always leaves her and that it hurts her when they go, that she's lonesome. He's not forcing her to talk about it - which he knows would make her uncomfortable and push her away - so he is helping her in the best way he can, in the way that will do the most good. He is showing up for her. He isn't leaving her. He is making sure she knows he cares. He brought Amanda back into her orbit. He stands up to Papa for her - this matters, bc we can talk about how possessiveness and aggression aren't healthy but they're a language Liv understands and speaks herself, and Elliot protecting her like that is an undeniable way to show her that he cares for her, that she matters to him. Liv needs someone to choose her, and he is showing her that he has. Even telling her about Kathy, that is about trust, and letting her into his heart, and she knows that.
Talking is not the only way to help someone; sometimes it's the least effective way to offer help. Actions matter more to Liv, and Elliot's actions show he cares.

Tumblr media
It’d been weeks into your first term at Gotham Academy when Jason first appeared in your Honors English course. You watched with wide eyes as his signature skunk-stripe bobbed its way to the back corner of the room with his scarred face partially hidden in a book.
You sighed in relief at the sight of the familiar face in a class that was mostly filled with older, mean kids. Sure, in art you had Damian, but every other class? Yeah, not so lucky.
Before you could second guess yourself, you got up from your desk to plop down in the seat next to him, though he didn’t stir from his book, leaving you to second-guess your decision. After all, your first meeting hadn’t necessarily been the greatest.
With him still ignoring you, you decide to be the one to break the ice. “Aren’t you a junior?”
You’d overheard whispers in the hallway about the ‘new Wayne kid’ and assumed it to be the angst-king you’d met at the manor.
“Don’t remind me,” Jason sighed and marked his place in Catcher and the Rye as he answered you. “The boarding school I was at wasn’t able to transfer over certain courses, so I’ve been held back a few years in certain subjects.”
A few years? “How old are you then?”
His green eyes danced mischievously with your curious ones. “17. I should be a senior.”
“Oh, wow.” You couldn’t imagine being held back that many years and still being able to put forth a good effort. “That sucks.”
“Eh, I’ve already read the books on the syllabus, so that helps some,” he said, shrugging while you scrambled to look at the list of required books for the course. You’d only read two out of the six, but it was still something.
“You’ve read Little Women?” You move your finger to the next line and read it off. “The Odyssey?”
“Of course, they’re iconic,” you snorted at his response. And to think his brothers actually had the audacity to call you the nerd.
“The Odyssey is pretty good for some ancient poems,” you admitted, but it was an understatement. The Odyssey had been one of your favorites due to its roots in Greek mythology.
Jason looked amused. “I think they’re considered epic.”
“Sure, however you want to describe it,” you said, waving him off as you set out your math notebook from last year that you were reusing. There were still a decent number of blank pages to use before you’d need to get a new one, anyway.
“You’re funny.” He scooted his desk closer to you and from here, you’re better able to see deep-set scars scattered across his face. You didn’t want him to notice you staring at them, though so you quickly glanced at his mouth instead. Wait- that wasn’t any better, you thought as you came face-to-face with his plump, sharp-angled lips. “I think you and I are going to be the only competent people in this class,” he said as if he was letting you in on a secret. “First project’s due in two weeks. Wanna team up?”
You, competent? Him, hot? Okay, yes. You were in
“Sure.”
He seemed nice enough and you needed an outstanding GPA to keep your scholarship here, so the more help you got, the better. Plus, he’d already read the books? Definite bonus.
“Cool.” You blushed at his deep voice.
Even just the casual nature of him splayed out in his chair had you fanning yourself with your notebook. He was so… ugh.
Perfect.
His half-lidded eyes regard you as if he was about to fall asleep while you continued to blatantly eye him up.
He was angry, hot and had scars. Not to mention the sexiest eyes you’d ever seen, but he was older. Out of reach.
You belittled yourself for even considering chasing after the naive butterflies that fluttered around your stomach at the sight of the Adonis at the desk next to you alone. Thankfully the butterflies didn’t have to stick around too long as your English teacher began going over the project, forcing you to focus in. Well, somewhat…
For the next 54 minutes, you caught yourself stealing glances at Jason’s stoic build out of the corner of your eye up until the bell rang. Student's chatter instantly bubbled over your teacher’s final remarks as they packed up for their next class.
Jason leaned over, invading your space with his musky scent as you stowed your notebook away. “We should meet up after school.”
Damian hadn’t mentioned anything about you coming over, but you didn’t think he’d mind.
“Sure.” With Tim and Damian being brothers and Jason’s residency at the manor, you didn’t think it’d be out of the question to assume that Jason was another one of Bruce’s wards. It was for this reason you mentioned your locker being next to Tim’s. It’d been enough for Damian to know where you were talking about, but as evidenced by the confused look on Jason’s face, you’d been mistaken.
“Yeah, I don’t know where the fuck that is, babe.” You blushed at the sudden nickname. “Me and Timmy don’t really get along much.”
Well then.
“He’s pretty nice,” you insisted while slinging on your backpack. Jason just rolled his eyes, following suit before motioning you out of the classroom ahead of him. “No, really. He always says hi to me and stuff.”
“That’s a pretty high bar you got there.” He seemed just to be following you, so you headed to your next class with Jason in tow.
You laughed, realizing too late how pathetic that had sounded, “After my first few weeks here, you have no idea.”
Jason screaming at you in the manor had truly been nothing compared to the insults and rumors your classmates slung your way each day.
“What does that mean?”
You dodged his question easily, “Don’t you have a class to go to?”
“No,” he shook his head, shoving his hands in his pockets, “Roy and I are ditching to get something to eat.”
Why did that name sound so familiar?
“Who’s Roy?” You kind of remembered hearing that name at Star City, but he had been a high schooler at the time you’d been in middle school there. Probably wishful thinking, you thought to yourself. After all, there was obviously more than one Roy in the world.
“My friend.” He looked down at you with amusement.
“Cool,” he laughed at your imitation of him earlier in class, leaving you to blush at being caught.
“Sure, kid,” he sighed at your responding glare. “And don't try to tell me you’re not a kid when you’re the same age as that demon brat.” You assumed he was talking about Damian for, well, obvious reasons.
“Would a kid know to make fun of you for reading Alcott?” you countered with a pointed brow.
“Okay, fuck off,” he chuckled a bit. “Where’s this class you’re headed to, anyway?”
You faltered in your steps. “Should be in this wing,” you paused, looking around at the surrounding doors. “Maybe down this hallway?”
Damn, you’d taken the wrong hallway again and ended up lost. It happened at least once a week, at this point, in the maze that was Gotham Academy.
“Alright, so what I’m hearing is you don’t appreciate classic literature, or know shit in general,” you gaped at him, “and now we’re both lost,” he sighed in tandem with the late bell ringing. The two of you watched as the last stragglers slipped away and disappeared into their classrooms. His pocket vibrated and he produced his cell phone to answer the call with an annoyed, “What?” You didn’t know whether to stay with Jason or continue looking around for your class, so you elected to awkwardly stand off to the side as Jason narrated to someone, likely Roy, your current location. “We should wait here.” You nodded at his statement, not really knowing what else to do. Jason shifted to lean against the hallway wall closest to you and you dropped your heavy Batman bag to the floor with an echoing thud. “You carrying a dead body in there or something?”
You gave him an odd yet amused look. “Because that’s the most logical thing I’d be carrying around in this tiny-ass backpack.” He shrugged, once again looking down each end of the hallway you were in. “Doesn’t your dad own this school, or something? How are you lost?”
Jason’s glare settled over you immediately, causing you to inadvertently step backward into the wall. “First off, he’s not my dad,” he spat. You nodded hastily until he dropped his glare. You hadn’t even realized you’d held your breath until his green eyes looked back down at his phone. “Second, he just funds the school. At least, I think. I don’t know. I haven’t been around much until recently.” You gave him a quizzical look. “Boarding school and all,” he mumbled.
“I didn’t mean to offend you,” you said. He at least had the decency to look somewhat ashamed for blowing up on you. “I mean, everyone has their daddy issues.” That much could be said for you- well, parent issues. Neither of them were around enough to check in on you, let alone to care that you existed. “I get that.”
“Cool.”
You dropped the topic and smiled lightly at what seemed to be becoming an inside joke between the two of you. “For sure.”
He smiled back at you and, this time, it seemed genuine. That was a relief. The last thing you wanted was to be on his bad side again.
Soon enough, over-styled, familiar red hair came into view complete with an untucked uniform and loosened tie.
“Yoo! I know you.” He threw up his arm and waved at you. “Us Star City kids gotta represent!” Once he got close enough, he stuck out towards you for a hand for a low high-five.
You lightly tapped his opened hand with a grin. “Hey, Roy.”
“I thought I saw you around the halls,” he said your name. “I was stoned out of my mind, though, so I wasn’t too sure.”
“Really?” You looked at him doubtfully, not bothering to touch the stoned part. “I’m surprised you even remember me, to be honest.”
You’d never talked, having only seen him hanging around the cafeteria sometimes after school, if that. It was possible you’d seen a tuft of his red hair sticking out of the crowd at the occasional football game if you bothered to go, but with no friends, it wasn’t really worth the trek or the $10 ticket.
“Still have the prettiest eyes, princess.” He shrugged nonchalantly from in front of you and Jason, though his light green eyes carried a wicked glint. “That’s how I knew it was you.” You gulped, not sure how to respond to his blatant flirting. It was one thing to tease Damian, but Roy and Jason were older and you had to be more careful. “What are you doing around these parts anyway?” Roy asked, ushering you and Jason into the hallway opposite your current one.
Jason wordlessly picked up your backpack like it weighed nothing and slung it around his free shoulder. You knew better than to try and fight him on it, so you just let him carry it around as Roy led the two of you around the labyrinth of Gotham Academy.
“I’m here on scholarship.”
“You say it like you wouldn’t be here otherwise,” Jason chimed in.
He was right, but they didn’t need to know that.
This was your only chance at escaping the same fate as your parents- doomed to scavenge for money by any means for the rest of their lives. It left a bitter taste in your mouth, but you couldn’t show it.
“I mean, truthfully, the scholarship is the only thing that would make me come to a crime-hole city like this.”
It was partially true. Gotham, even its richest parts, weren’t for the faint-hearted. Anything could happen at the flip of a coin.
“Fair enough,” Roy said as you entered a long corridor facing the back doors of the school. You’d only been back here once, but remembered enough to know that the whole back area was fenced-in by a high, cobblestone wall.
“Where are we going exactly?” you asked as you hesitantly let them lead you out the back.
“I thought you were ditching with us. My bad.” Roy looked to Jason, who turned at you with a questioning glance. “It’s cool. There’s no pressure, dude.”
“I forgot to mention she was looking for a classroom. It’s my fault.” Jason saw the hesitance on your face and handed you back your twenty-some-pound backpack before rubbing at his shoulder. “I don’t know where shit is to be any help.”
“I can still show you where your class is,” Roy offered helpfully, watching as you struggled under your backpack’s hulking weight.
Okay, skipping was definitely not up your alley, but showing up to class this late also wasn’t.
It’s not like your parents would be there to pick up the call that you'd skipped anyway, you thought bitterly. Looking down at your phone, you anxiously noted that it was 10 minutes past the late bell and figured it was too late to show up at that point.
“No, it’s good.” You began walking further back on the grounds to where the gardens and tennis courts were. “Jason wanted me to come, anyway.” You gave a small smirk, testing out just how much sass you could unleash on them.
“Sure,” he laughed, “whatever helps you sleep at night, babe.”
There it was again. The nickname that already had you in a chokehold.
“Where are you guys eating at?”
“Oh, yeah, food would be sweet.” Roy clapped you on the back. Not lightly, mind you. “Good idea."
“Jason said you guys were getting something to eat,” you said, stating the obvious. Had that not been their plan after all?
"Sure, yeah," Roy tried to cover up with faux nonchalance. Jason, on the other hand, looked downright guilty. “Want to go to the diner on Fifth?”
You reached the courtyard wall, where they immediately began to climb over it, but you just stood there. The wall’s daunting height only seemed to double the longer you stared. Roy dropped back down from the top to grab your backpack before throwing it up to Jason, who sat saddled over both sides, with ease.
Jason caught your backpack and dropped it to the other side before doing the same, just after Roy rejoined him on the top of the wall.
“Okay, I didn’t realize skipping school involved level 20 calisthenics skills.” You brushed your sweaty hands on the front of your skirt as you finally approached the wall.
“Video game talk, very hot. Nice, nice.” His red hair bobbed from above with his enthusiastic nods. You struggled for a bit until he started pointing out odd stones that stuck out. “Put your foot there, good,” you blushed at the insignificant praise, “just like that.”
You were a bit over halfway up the wall when Roy offered you his right hand to pull you up. Once at the top, you held down the center of your skirt to keep it from rising before maneuvering both legs over the side so you could peer down at the ground below you.
Below you, Jason seemed entirely entertained by the whole situation. He eventually opened his arms and motioned for you to jump.
“Hurry up, princess,” Roy urged from beside you. “Your chariot awaits.”
What chariot he was referring to, you didn’t know, but you did know that you didn’t want to get caught.
“Coming, coming.” You waved Roy off, leaving him to gracefully drop to the grass below. “In the comics, they roll. Should I roll?”
“Do whatever the fuck you need to, just hurry up.” Jason motioned once again for you to jump.
You looked behind you, then at the ground again. “Alright,” you said, trying to hype yourself up more than anything. Without wasting another second, you leaped from the wall and rolled onto the grass with as much grace as a newborn bird. “Ow, okay. Rolling does nothing,” you groaned, gathering your bearings on the ground when you suddenly heard Roy clearing his throat. You peered up to see the older men pointedly avoiding your general direction. You quickly glanced down only to become mortified by the sight of your bright red Flash-themed panties on full display. “Oh, fuck me.Come on.”
If there was a word greater than embarrassment, that’s what you were, but like times ten. Scratch that, times 100.
You pulled down at the plaid uniform skirt, desperately shifting it back into place. You refused to meet Roy’s eyes as he extended a hand to lift you up, but you ultimately ended up taking it.
You were pretty sure your face was going to remain red for the rest of the day and seriously considered hanging your head in shame, taking the L and just going back to class- that and never showing your face around either of them again.
Yeah, that sounded about right.
But you did none of that. Instead, you looked at them defensively, challenging them to say anything about what they’d just witnessed.
Jason merely tilted his head in the direction of the parking lot, still content to avoid eye contact. He didn’t leave any room for conversation anyway. “We’re going to get caught if we stay around much longer,” you and Roy nodded, following his lead all the way to the far side of the parking lot where there were three Challengers, a station wagon and a red motorcycle.
You silently begged whatever gods were out there that you wouldn’t be taking the death-trap.
It was for naught.
Jason and Roy soon sidled up next to the obnoxious crimson motorcycle that put the red of your Flash undies to shame. They beckoned you over and you obliged, albeit hesitantly.
“Problem with the ride, kid?” Jason quirked a brow your way.
“If anything, I’m just thinking about how this adds to your whole superfluous, angsty persona,” you said as you continued to eye the bike with disdain.
“A true angst king then, perhaps,” Roy added.
“Indeed.” You nodded and accepted his fist-bump, leaving Jason to roll his eyes.
“Good to know you’re both brushing up on basic ACT vocab, but can we get a move on?” Roy wasted no further time in sitting down on the bike before patting his lap.
You looked over at Roy dubiously. “Don’t you have a car or something?”
“Forgot my keys?” You glared as you let out a resigning sigh and straddled the seat, not wanting to keep Jason waiting any longer. You backed up a bit before ultimately settling down onto his lap. “Usually, Jason drives anyway. For real, though,” he said, trying to make you feel more comfortable and less like a set-up, considering you were sitting in his lap and he’d just seen your panties.
It did help you calm down a bit.
Jason handed you his red helmet, then maneuvered to sit. His added proportions forced you backward, higher onto Roy’s lap.
“Alrighty then, a warning next time would be great, princess,” his voice sounded restrained, leaving Jason to snicker as he continued to find the best way to sit. Huffing, he turned around to spread your thighs before turning back around and pushing his back in between them.
You sat there stupefied; eyes wide, blush evident like a dumbass.
His touch had been brief but firm.
You were grateful the gasp you felt stirring didn’t make it past your lips. Especially when all you could feel was the leather of his jacket flush against your bare thighs where his touch still lingered.
“Don’t suppose you have any more badass jackets lying around?” you managed around your sudden flash of arousal.
“Ha, ha,” he toned, unamused. “Very funny.” He shifted slightly, inadvertently causing the center seam on the back of his jacket to come into contact with your seam.
This time, you’re unable to hide your reaction as the contact leaves you arching backward into Roy.
Being between the two of them had left you both hot and bothered and now also extremely wet.
“I, for one, think she’s a riot,” Roy added unhelpfully.
“Thanks, Roy,” you said, thankful for the distraction.
You were still breathless from the dizzying leather contact in front of you and the muscular wall behind you that trapped you against it. You shook yourself out of your remaining stupor to put the helmet on to further hide your flustered state.
“Anytime.” He patted the top of your thigh where his hand had been resting. “You told us to hurry up, so come on, bro.”
Just as Roy finished his sentence, Jason rev’ed his engine up, eliciting a huge roar as he high-tailed it out of the parking lot.
You desperately clung to Jason’s rock-hard stomach while wrestling to keep your skirt from flapping up in the wind. From behind you, Roy howled with laughter right next to your ear at the adrenaline-inducing speed, but a sharp turn had him shutting up real fast. He then focused on wrapping both arms securely around you as Jason continued to zip around midday Gotham traffic on his bike.
You’d lost the battle with your skirt long ago until Roy, having seen your pathetic plight, adjusted his grip. His right arm situated around your waist while the other splayed itself between your thighs to keep the offending piece of fabric at bay. “I got you.”
All you could manage was a nod.
The vibrations, coupled with Roy’s unfortunate-yet-fortunate hand placement, made you feel like you were in your room going at it with your vibrator.
You were glad the skirt acted as a barrier between your leaking arousal and Roy’s wrist, but it was only so thick. With the steady piling of chilling heat in the bottom of your stomach, you knew this wasn't going to end well.
You were suddenly slammed against Roy’s forearm and into Jason's back when he came to an abrupt stop at a red light.
“Oof!” You fell directly back onto Roy’s lap. “You’re doing this on purpose,” you growled through the helmet, assuming he’d think you were talking about the excessive speeding, but no. You were talking about the delicious friction that was about to push you to your limit. He held up his hands in faux surrender before quickly shifting them back to rev the handles as the light turned green. “JASON!” you screamed as he went from zero to round the corner at a highly illegal speed.
Even through the helmet, you can hear his gorgeous laugh. He’s only laughing for so long as he completely blows through a speed bump, leaving the bike and all its inhabitants airborne from the shared seat. You let out a yelp as you bounced back onto Roy’s lap at the same time your chest bounced against the back of Jason’s leather jacket.
Roy let out a pained groan at the contact. “I agree,” he mewled. In your highly aroused, nearly lucid state, your clit throbbed at the noise. “This is definitely on purpose.”
You probably would’ve laughed along had you not been seconds away from your first, very public, orgasm on a motorcycle.
Your shaky breath by then had fogged up your helmet, leaving you completely blind to everything around you. For some reason, this wasn’t helping your problem in the slightest and, if anything, was amplifying their obscene onslaught against you.
You attempted to shift, but were ultimately unable to find any relief from the, er… relief you were already feeling. At least, that is, until Roy smacked your thigh, holding it in place to stop any further movement from you. It was worse, a lot worse. And by worse, you meant better, a lot better for other things.
You stilled suddenly as your eyes rolled back into your head. The vibrations, coupled with Roy’s hand on your spread thighs and your grip on Jason’s abs took control over your body. You shifted your hips forward against Jason’s back while your head fell onto Roy’s shoulder with a silent gasp. You quickly came to the realization of what you’d just done and straightened instantly in Roy’s lap to play it off.
“Can you guys stop humping each other back there for two seconds? We’re almost there.”
Your back tensed at his sudden statement and you wondered if your orgasm hadn’t been as quiet as you’d thought. There was no way, though, right? Jason was surely just joking… That had to be it.
“Swear she just passed out, dude,” Jason and Roy cackled as you attempted to regulate your breathing. “I think your driving knocked her out, or some shit.”
Sure, you thought, if that’s what they said happened, who were you to correct them? You glanced down to where an uncomfortable damp spot in your Flash-themed panties told the real story and made sure it stayed covered up.
Jason hadn’t lied. Seconds later, the bike came to a lurching stop in the empty parking lot where the force of the brakes sent you and Roy pushing against Jason’s muscular back.
“Was all of this really necessary?” you asked him, still half-hanging over his shoulder from the abrupt stop.
“Plenty, babe,” He turned his head so it was breaths away from your helmeted one with a wicked smirk and hopped down to help you get off the bike. Roy moved his hand from in between your thighs so you were free to hop off using Jason’s hand for support. “Was it really that bad?” you gave him a deadpan glare in lieu of an actual response as you returned his helmet.
“She was shaking the entire time,” Roy answered for you, shaking with laughter as he got down too.
“I thought there was something wrong with my bike,” Jason snorted.
You hastily steered the conversation in a different direction before it got any further. “It’s all super hilarious,” you fake laughed obnoxiously before crossing your arms. “So, are we gonna go eat or what?”
“Jeez, Princess. You think you’d be a bit more mellowed out right now.”
You glanced wearily at Roy after his oddly specific comment, but refrained from any further questioning so they’d drop the topic completely. “Hangry,” you offered instead of taking the bait. “Now, let’s go.”
You ushered both of them inside only to be led by them to the booth furthest in the back. The table was angled in just the right way to be able to see the diner counter and the entrance.
You all ordered and you pulled out your phone to see a text from Damian asking why you’d missed art class. You sent back a quick reply that you’d tell him later before slipping your phone back into your backpack.
“Baby’s first skip day?” Roy motioned over to your phone. “Parents already on your back?”
“Sure.” Parents were another topic you wanted to avoid.
Roy seemed to take the hint and offered a toast as soon as all of your milkshakes came out. “Well, cheers to your first day of delinquency.”
“I’ll cheers to that.” Jason clinked his strawberry against Roy’s chocolate peanut butter and soon your own frosted glass joined in the mock celebration.
“To maybe having a few more,” you said. “Emphasis on the maybe, though,” you warned, but they were too busy slurping to pay you any mind.
Your food arrived and you chatted more about their classes and hobbies.
It turned out Roy was playing the same video game you’d had your eye on for a year now, so a majority of the time was spent with Roy trying to explain the plot and failing miserably, leaving Jason to correct him every other few minutes.
“He was stoned out of his mind on that level,” Jason would butt in every few minutes or so and you’d lean in closer to hear the actual storyline per Jason.
“We should play together sometime.” You slouched down in the booth with a groan on account of your overly full stomach.
“Why not now?” Jason suggested, looking at you for permission.
You’d all finished at that point, but you’d planned to head back to school after your long lunch.
Now you were debating. You’d already left the school premises, so was there really any point to going back? You looked at your phone, seeing your long lunch had well extended into last period.
You gave him an affirming look. “Let’s do it.”
You slid out from the booth to let Roy out. Meanwhile, Jason fiddled around in his leather jacket until he produced a wallet. Jason slapped a $100 on the table and gave you and Roy a look that it was not up for debate on who paid.
A man walking in held open the door for you and Roy, but Jason, being the straggler, ended up right in the crossfire of said man’s sneeze. Jason stumbled out of the entryway with a horrified face, greeted by the sight of you and Roy cackling at his misery.
“I need a shower. No,” he shuddered as he stalked over to the two of you, “five.”
“I’ll join you.” Roy obnoxiously wiggled his brows at Jason. “I’m so dirty, daddy.”
Jason gawked briefly, then quickly wrinkled his nose in disgust. “Fuck off, you gay ass.”
The two of them laughed at that, but you shut it down.
“You know, you really shouldn’t make fun of someone for their sexuality.”
They both looked at you blankly, then at each other and grinned. “PFFT!”
“I’m serious.” They began to laugh to the point you ripped the helmet from Jason’s bony-fingered grip. “It’s not funny!” You stuck the helmet on your head and plopped onto the bike with crossed arms. “Lots of men are put down or unjustly feminized for being gay or bi. You guys shouldn’t perpetuate that kind of culture.”
Roy snickered, wiping mirthful tears from his gorgeous eyes. “No, princess, you’re right.” He elbowed Jason, who’d stopped laughing soon after your statement. “Guess we don’t have to hide our undying love anymore, Jasey-poo,” he said before obnoxiously smooching at the air around Jason’s face.
There was a sudden shift not even you could’ve been prepared for, let alone Roy.
Jason backed up, face scrunched up in disgust. “Shut up and get on the bike, Roy.”
Jason refused to meet either of your eyes. Well, not that he could even see yours through the darkened helmet visor, but even through the dark tint, you could tell Jason seemed bothered.
You sighed internally. That’s not what you’d meant to do at all.
Roy cleared his throat, throwing on the second helmet. “You’re gonna have to get up, beautiful.”
“Oh,” you quickly got up so Roy could sit where you’d just been, “sorry.”
You fiddled with the oversized helmet as you sat back on his lap with a soft bounce. This time, you knew what to expect in terms of positioning, so settling onto the bike didn’t take as long nor had as many adjustments. Your clit was still tender from earlier, which made the ride back somewhat painful rather than the pleasure you’d felt earlier.
The three of you pulled into the manor just as Tim and Stephanie were walking through the gates.
“Yooo!” Stephanie threw a peace sign in your direction.
“Hey!” You took off the helmet and handed it to Jason, who held out his other to help you down.
“Don't you look all hot and bothered.” She wiggled her eyebrows, obviously referencing the squished position between the two seniors.
The four of you chatted as you walked into the manor, where you met a confused Damian in the foyer.
He looked surprised to see you. “You weren’t in class today.”
You rambled a bit before Stephanie cut in.
“Trouble in paradise?” she cackled, causing her blonde tresses to bob up and down. “You should’ve seen her ride.” She obnoxiously winked at Jason, who blew past her without a word to go upstairs.
You immediately looked at Roy, who shrugged and saluted to the other three in the room. “Fuck it, we ball.”
“What?” you questioned, head tilting in confusion. Damian seemed to be in the exact same boat.
Roy simply motioned his head in the direction of where Jason had gone. “Come on, princess.”
“You didn’t answer my question,” Damian cut Roy’s nonsense off, saying your last name in an accusatory tone.
Well, you thought as you looked anywhere but at him, you were busy orgasming all over the back of your brother and his friend.
“I got cold feet?”
He scowled. “Don’t be ridiculous. I’ll be there for you. In the class, I mean,” he quickly corrected as he looked over your shoulder to where Roy lingered, “perhaps you’d want to make up for the time we lost?”
You snorted, “Talk normal, twerp.”
He ignored you, moving both hands behind his back. “Father will need me soon, but until then, would you want to hang out?”
“Yeah, sure.” You looked to Roy for permission as if you needed it, but he just motioned to the two of you to follow after Jason. “I wasn’t trying to skip,” you confided as the three of you began walking up the stairs.
“It doesn’t seem like you,” he agreed with your statement, turning to glare at Roy, who paid him no mind. “Don’t let these hooligans deflower your innocence.”
The worst part was he was being completely serious. No, the worst part was they technically had deflowered you, albeit without knowing.
He merely glanced at you out of the corner of his eyes as Roy howled, having to hold onto the banister for support. “Oh, my god, Damian. You’re hilarious, little dude.” His face was turning red enough to block out his freckles as he continued to howl, “Deflower, PFFT!”
“DAMIAN!” Your mouth dropped open in complete shock. “What the fuck is your deal?!”
You smacked at his shoulder. He returned the action tenfold, nearly sending you over the railing of the stairs with his brute power. You winced at the contact and hissed out an ‘ow.’ His eyes, however, remained glued to Roy’s back.
“What’s up?” Jason greeted monotonously once the three of you found him in the library.
“I thought we were gaming?” you questioned Jason, who sat on the floor with his papers spread out in front of him
“Yeah, what the hell.” Roy walked over to Jason and destroyed his organized papers by chucking his bag on the ground in front of him. “Then you ditched me to babysit, dude.”
Damian quirked a dubious brow. “More like the other way around, Harper.”
“If anything,” you concurred.
The redhead motioned between the two of you as if it explained everything. “See what I’m talking about?”
“Sure, Roy.” Jason glanced up at you with amusement glimmering in his emerald eyes. Your cheeks heated up instantly at the contact and you immediately shifted your eyes over at the copy of The Odyssey trapped in his attractive hands. Was there any place on Jason’s body you could look at and not get flustered by? “We need to get started on our project, anyway, so,” he said, motioning to the papers.
“Give me that, Todd.” Damian flipped over the book impetuously to scowl at both sides. “Purely elementary.”
“And what are you and Roy reading?” Jason challenged.
“Animal Farm?” you chimed in, voice dripping with sarcasm. “No, Lord of the Flies?”
“Don’t you join them!” Damian insisted, looking at you somewhat betrayed. Roy and Jason laughed as you comforted a distraught Damian and assure him that you’re not, in fact, ganging up against him. “It’s Grapes of Wrath, for your information.”
“Ah,” you patted him on the back, “nature is king is a reoccurring theme. Boom, I just wrote your thesis for you.”
“Please, we have to go more in-depth than that,” he scoffed. “It’s a lot more complex than The Odyssey.”
“How?” Jason challenged. “Different genres, different time periods. It’s completely unfair to even compare the two unless you’re just talking about them being literary classics.”
Roy leaned over to fake whisper to you, “I love it when he gets all book-wormy.”
You nodded distractedly in agreement as you watched the literary battle between Jason and Damian roar on.
“They’re about the plight between families, albeit for different reasons and how they’re able to overcome to ultimately come back together,” Damian said. You nodded, being able to see where his analysis was coming from.
“Odysseus was on his own for the entire book practically,” Jason pointed out the flaw in his argument, but Damian was quick to refute it.
“It’s a hero’s journey; of course he’s alone,” he said. “It always is a lone journey.” He gave Jason a meaningful glance that had you furrowing your brows.
You nudged a distracted Roy. “Reminds me of Batman, to be honest." You lowered your voice into a dramatic rasp and use your arm to create a fake cape to cover the bottom half of your face, “I work alone.”
Damian wrinkled his nose, having heard you. “Please refrain from ever doing that again.”
You all burst into laughter. Well, except for Roy, who was vehemently scribbling down what you assumed to be notes. Upon closer inspection, however, it all just appeared to be random, disconnected scribbles.
He seemed to sense the weight of your eyes on him because he tried to explain, “I think I’ll actually manage to pass this year.”
“Yeah,” you drawled, looking back down at his chicken scratch, turning your head every which way to make sense of it, “if you can ever manage to go back and decode this shit.”
“I, for one, can read it perfectly.” He boop'ed you on the nose, leaving you to snort.
“Hey!” Jason and Damian complained suddenly.
You turned from Roy to see them glaring in both of your directions.
Your eyes widened with confusion. “What?” Damian muttered something under his breath and then, out of nowhere, asked you to help him with his English homework. “Damian, you’re in Roy’s English class… Two years above me,” you reminded him.
“Fine,” he sighed and made a demanding grab for the papers you were busy pulling out of your backpack, “I’ll help you with yours.”
“Unless you just up and do it, I can’t imagine how much help you’ll be.” You watched as he looked over the papers with a heavily focused look before shoving them back into your expectant hands.
“Pass.” Damian gave a curt nod before leaving you, Jason and Roy alone with a growing mountain of homework. “Enjoy these losers.”
“Keep those petals flowery, Damian,” Roy teased, looking up from his notes to wink at Damian’s retreating form. He nudged his elbow into your arm. “Right, babe?”
“That’s my nickname for her, Roy.” Jason looked to you for an explanation but was met with you blushing at the memory of Damian’s uncalled-for comment on the stairs.
“You’re right,” Roy smirked, turning to you, “wouldn’t want to confuse you, now would we, princess?” He winked, leaving you to roll your eyes in return.
You wished your cheeks would go back to their normal fucking color already, but they stubbornly refused.
“Are we actually going to work or not?” You reminded Jason of your upcoming project, but he quickly waved you off. It seemed like his priorities had changed after Damian’s appearance in the library.
“Roy, pass me the shit.”
You raised a brow, but Roy just nodded with a coy smile before pulling out a gigantic colorful wrapped treat.
“What is that?” You skeptically eyed the treat as it was passed between the two boys.
Jason unwrapped it, looking pointedly at Roy with a silent question, but Roy just shook his head.
“They’re edibles, dumbass.”
You huffed, crossing your arms, “I think I like ‘babe’ better.”
“Noted,” he said, taking a huge bite and offering it your way, but you held up a hand to pass.
Soon enough, absolutely no work had been done and the two of them had taken to fucking around with each other, making it nearly impossible to read. You tried to ignore their rambunctious laughter and rough-housing as you continued to note, but eventually, it got to be too much.
You sighed, catching both of their attention as you snapped your notebook shut, “I’m soo glad we’re partnered together on this project.” The sarcasm rolled off you in waves as they both finished off a second Rice Krispie each. Great. You continued to work on the outline you needed to complete by Friday while Jason and Roy immediately went back to reinitiating their smack-fest on the floor.
“Don’t worry, babe. I’ll do my fair share. It’s not like the weed is gonna stop that,” Jason reassured you, panting as he held Roy down on the floor by a fistful of his fiery hair, but you were doubtful.
In true stoner fashion, Roy butted in, face still smashed hilariously against the carpet, “Shit's less dangerous than alcohol. Don’t believe the shit they tell you about da kush.”
“Dude.” Jason shook his head at Roy’s pathetic lingo, pushing down harder on him until Roy’d had enough.
You watched half-amused, half-annoyed as Roy slammed Jason to the spot on the carpet Roy had warmed up for him. The dumbass stopped to admire his work too long, leaving an open invitation for Jason to tackle him by the midsection to the ground below.
“I think I’ve done enough rebellious teenage things for one day,” you admitted hesitantly, looking from the offending pot Fruity Pebble Rice Krispies Treats to the sweaty fuckers rolling around on the floor. “Besides, those don’t even look good.”
“True,” Roy panted, ignoring your last comment about the edibles as he held Jason in a headlock, “we did just break your skipping virginity.”
They really had no idea about the true extent of virginity that had been taken from you that day, leaving a faint blush to appear at the memory of the motorcycle ride. That, along with Damian’s weird ‘deflowering’ comment.
“And with that lovely comment, Roy,” you squinted your eyes in his direction, “I’m out. I actually plan to get my shit done before school tomorrow.”
“You’re so smart, princess.” Roy released Jason from his hold to make a heart with his hands over his actual one. “Hopefully one day it’ll rub off on me.” With that, he winked, leaving Jason to audibly smack him on the arm.
No motorcycles ever again, you silently concurred after another one of Roy’s pointed comments about earlier that day.
“Stop trying to act like a fuck boy. It’s completely out of character,” Jason belittled his red-haired friend.
“Don’t even get me started on you Mr. Brooding, bad boy.” He morphed his freckled face into Jason’s seemingly permanent scowl, doing his signature ‘tch.’ “Babe this, babe that, check out my motorcycle I only got from my dad because I-” Roy trailed off, crossing his arms at both of your wide gazes. “What?!”
Jason looked deathly murderous.
Definitely your cue to leave, especially considering what you witnessed the last time you saw that same look on his face. You shook your head, thinking back on your first visit here to now. So much had changed. Plus, you definitely had a lot more friends than you did the first time. You smiled lightly to yourself at this as you collected your things in the wake of their argument.
“Alright, I’m officially out. Have fun with each other and all of this.” You gestured to the papers and edibles. “I’m actually going to get my shit done. See you guys tomorrow,” you managed over their bickering, but neither seemed to notice.
As you shut the library door behind you, you heard Tim’s quiet voice too late and you ended up bumping directly into him. He greeted you somewhat off-handedly before giving your disheveled uniform a once over. You attempted to smooth out your skirt, which had been creased from your earlier ride, then adjusted the straps of your superhero-themed backpack on your shoulders.
“Don’t think I noticed that the first time,” he said, referring to your bag. “You read comics?”
“Of course!” You couldn’t help that the volume of your voice raised with your excitement. No one ever wanted to talk comics with you, especially no one in Gotham. It was taboo in a way most cities would never be able to comprehend.
You’d tried to get Damian into Batman of all things, but it never held his attention. According to him, it was all “girly-soap-opera bullshit anyway.”
“Want me to walk you out?” You nodded and he moved to guide you with a gentle hand on your shoulder. “I feel like I keep seeing you, but you’re gone before I can talk to you,” he admitted. “Who do I have to fight to get some attention from you?” He flashed a gorgeous smile in your direction, forcing your eyes away from his delicate attractiveness.
“Talk comics with me?”
He gave you an amused smile. “Yeah, I can do that.” You ended up sitting down next to Tim in the living room, which was situated next to the foyer. He patted at the spot on the couch right next to him and you ended up settling close enough that you could feel warmth radiating from his slender form. “Who do you read?” he asked, glancing down at your backpack before smirking. “Besides Batman, that is.”
You blushed, not sure how much you wanted to nerd out in front of Tim. You didn’t want to scare him off and having him think you were some weird freak. “Long answer or short?”
His bright eyes glistened with something you couldn’t read. “Long.” His voice was deep and controlled, making you squirm slightly in your seat.
You still weren’t encouraged he knew what he was getting himself into, but you divulged anyway.
“Well, living in Star City I’m partial to any of the Arrow comics, Black Canary included,” you added but thought it was pretty self-explanatory. “Flash family is pretty interesting too with the whole speed-force thing… Poor Kid Flash,” you lamented as if the storyline was actually real. “Can’t go wrong with Huntress or The Question, OH!” you exclaimed, sitting up straighter on the couch, further invading Tim’s space. You cleared your throat as you caught a whiff of his earthy, pinewood-smelling cologne. “Nightwing’s hot as fuck. Serious buns of steel, so there’s that, but I know you said besides Batman,” you finished nonchalantly with a shrug.
“Er…” Tim looked around the room quickly.
“Don’t lie, Tim. You know it’s true,” you sighed as you stared off into space, thinking about the skin-tight uniform he donned. “Fattest ass in the whole superhero game by a longshot.” You inadvertently thought back to Dick’s speedo-covered ass that was now ingrained in your mind for the rest of eternity. Still had nothing on Nightwing, though you concluded.
“I’ll take your word on it,” he trailed off amusedly.
“But, obviously,” you pointed to your backpack, “anything Batman or Robin is the shit.” At this, you began listing off repeat characters that were featured in the issues over the years. “They speculate that there have been at least five Robins, if not more! How crazy is that?” you continued rambling. “And they all start so young too! Could you imagine being in middle school and going home to kick ass and then finish fractions homework? Wild.” You shook your head in disbelief. Tim had remained quiet throughout, so you glanced over to make sure he was still awake, only to find him still staring at you with the same unreadable look. “What?”
“Which one is your favorite?” It came out somewhat hesitant, but you just figured you were reading too far into it.
You didn’t have to think about Tim’s question for too long. You’d asked yourself this very question ages ago once the speculation came out, but actually explaining it out loud was a whole other thing.
“First Robin is always iconic,” you listed on your finger easily. “The second one… Not much is known, I don’t think,” you trailed off and looked to him for confirmation, but he just shook his head. “Red Robin is probably the most iconic Robin aside from the first panty-wearing one.”
Tim barked out a laugh, “Oh, yeah?”
You nodded animatedly. “Red Robin’s uniform basically set the trend for the newest Robin’s garb,” you pointed out with a raised eyebrow, begging Tim to refute it, but he never did, so you continued. “Besides the hood and all, it’s just a boring Red Robin costume, but Red Robin,” you sighed and whipped out your phone to show Tim all the photos you’d captured of him over the years for your Batman blog. “He’s different.”
“Woah, déjà vu…” he muttered to himself and you let out a questioning noise. “I, uh, used to follow around Batman and Robin too.”
“No way,” you smiled widely. “We should go out together sometime then. With the two of us, we’ll be unstoppable!” He continued to scroll through your blog distractedly. “I haven’t been out to photograph since I moved out here, but I’ve been wanting to get back out there sometime soon.”
“I’d be down.” Tim nodded as he zoomed in on a particularly spicy photo that had somewhat blown up on your blog. “Seems like you always go for a, uh… certain angle?”
You blushed and snatched your phone away. “It’s not like I can exactly repel up buildings like them to get a normal angle.”
“So, basically, you have a Red Robin ass-shot fanpage?” he teased, handing you back your phone.
You laughed at his accurate analysis, “I guess so.” You pocketed your phone and stood up. “I have to get heading out now, but if you ever want a large print of one of my pics, just let me know,” you teased him right back.
“It was really nice chatting with you,” he said, also getting up.
“For sure. Nice chatting with someone who gets it.” You’d meant the comic book part because his brothers teased you relentlessly about it, but your statement seemed to be misconstrued by Tim as it had made him blush brightly.
Deep red stained Tim’s pale, striking cheekbones. “For sure.” He seemed like he wanted to say something else but instead merely ran a bony hand through his loose locks. “See you around,” he said your name. As he turned to walk off with a tiny wave, he came upon the ruckus heading directly your way.
You heard trampling from behind you and turned just in time to see Jason and Roy shoving each other down the stairs.
"Oh," Jason drawled, schooling a bored face as he stared at the small space between you and Tim. "You’re still here?”
“Fuck off.” You turned on your heel and walked to the front door, still annoyed that they took edibles rather than help with the project. You waved to them and headed for the door.
“Woah, woah, woah,” Roy said, appearing out of nowhere with a strong hand on your shoulder to prevent you from going anywhere further. “We got you, babe-princess.” He anxiously looked back to Jason, who seemed extremely unamused by Roy's second nickname mix-up of the day. “You down for another motorcycle threesome?”
You gawked and turned to Tim quickly to set things straight. “I’ve never been down for that, but,” you turned back to Jason and Roy and admitted, “I do need a ride.”
Tim walked out to the front with you guys as if wanting to see the motorcycle set up for himself. Based on his wrinkled nose, he didn’t approve of the intimate proximity between the three of you. If he really was bothered, he didn’t really show it as he still elected to wave at you.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said your name and walked back into the manor.
“You got a goal to fuck everyone in the mansion, or what?” Jason’s bitter voice cut through your daydreaming.
“Definitely not the two of you, that’s for sure. Dick, though…” you sighed extra dreamily just to piss him off.
“Just get on the bike,” came Jason’s gruff response.
It had worked, you thought to yourself with a smile, and it wasn’t even true. You totally would bang any of them in a heartbeat- have they seen themselves? Everyone in the house looked like they'd strutted straight off the catwalk of Paris Fashion Week.
“When did you meet Dick?” Came Roy’s faux-nonchalant question. “I haven’t seen him around recently.”
“We played one game together; figures she’d already be attached to him.” Jason seemed a lot more upset than you’d expected, but why? Also, Jason hadn’t even technically been there when you’d first met Dick, so what did he even know?
“And yet, whose bike am I on?” You snatched the helmet from his hand to shove on your head. The ride to your apartment goes by quickly and is mainly drowned out by Jason blasting some angsty music. When you pulled up, they looked at you expectantly. “What?” You handed Jason back his helmet, hopping off Roy’s lap. “You want to come inside or something?” You’d only been joking, but they seemed to take it very seriously as they both dismounted swiftly to follow you into the apartment complex. “Woah, I was just kidding.”
“No takebacks,” Jason insisted, but you were too busy internally worrying about them seeing your pathetic apartment to truly be bothered by his resoluteness.
“Alright.” You turned to go inside but hesitated enough for Roy, who was following behind you, to notice.
He quickly came to your side. “We don’t have to, you know?” he muttered somewhat privately between the two of you as Jason was more preoccupied with the safety of his bike. “I definitely get it.” Did he, though? Your face must have expressed this because he merely laughed. “Listen, my uncle, Ollie may be rich, but before him, well, not so much,” he trailed off. “So, in that sense, I guess I get it?” Roy seemed uncomfortable bearing all this information with you, but you felt more at ease because of it.
“I,” you placed a light hand on his shoulder in appreciation, “yeah.” You weren’t so good with the being open part either. At least he was able to get out an actual sentence, you admonished yourself. “Definitely difficult living here and going to school in Bristol, too.” It was the truth and it seemed to be the primary reason almost everyone at school treated you like slimy trash beneath their Prada dress shoes.
“For sure, princess.” You blushed at the intimacy that leaked out from his voice. “Like I said earlier, ‘us Star City kids gotta stick together,’” you agreed, looking anywhere but into his hypnotizing green eyes. From this close, you could clearly see the light freckles that dotted his pale face.
“You guys good?” Jason asked, finally appeared behind you to wrap a hand around your shoulder. “Is he bothering you?”
Roy slapped at Jason’s shoulder, effectively smooshing you between the two of them. It was a feeling that was becoming increasingly familiar to you and you definitely weren’t hating it. “Dude!”
“What?!” Jason pushed back at him, smooshing you into Roy now, who pushed back and smooshed you into Jason’s side.
“Okay, not that I’m not loving this whole tug-of-war game here, but we really shouldn’t be just standing outside in this neighborhood,” you said, pushing them apart with both arms. “Are you guys coming up or not?” You stepped forward, turning around with a questioning gaze, efficiently commanding their attention.
The sun was starting to set and you didn’t want to wait around for it to get much darker than it already was. You definitely weren’t about to get mugged just because these dumbasses wanted to wrestle on the concrete.
They look at you and nodded dumbly.
“Good,” you said, motioning them inside, where they followed behind you like lost puppies. It was kind of cute, you thought to yourself with a light smile. “They say this place is haunted or some shit,” you made small talk as you led them to the elevator and clicked your floor, but not before a seemingly intoxicated man could board as well. "I think people are just scared of old, broken-down shit, though," you quietly finished your ramblings.
The building was obviously dilapidated, with outdated aesthetics peeling and chipping into the rotting corpse of the building's barely withstanding core. Fluorescent flickering of sickening green glows throughout, well, the lights that were working, that is.
Without a second glance your way, both Roy and Jason herded you from the middle of the only working elevator to stand between the two of them.
You’d never seen the man around before, but you were glad you’d invited Roy and Jason in, if not just for the numbers. He didn’t seem right and with his blatant staring at you, you were becoming more uncomfortable with each passing second.
You cursed the slow-ass elevator for taking its damn time.
“You didn’t click a floor, my dude,” Roy tried to sound light as he addressed the man. You looked up at Jason to see him clenching his jaw tightly. Meanwhile, Roy seemed calmer, yet reserved about the unfolding creepy situation. “What number can I hit for you?”
Instead of an answer, there’s a bone-chilling bark of laughter. All eyes shifted to the man now with a steadily growing feeling of unease. “I got my floor.” His dark, hollowed eyes never leaving your own. You glared at him, but all he did was smile back with a haunting grin.
The elevator dinged! and opened up to your floor, but no one moved.
A couple of things could’ve happened, you figured as you looked around at the overwhelming amount of testosterone leaking into the small elevator car. One: Roy could attempt to dissuade the drunk man with his charm to get him to not follow you back to the apartment and everyone would leave unharmed, plus creepy dude wouldn’t know where you lived. Or, two: Jason would unleash his white-knuckled, clenched fist on the drunk dude, knocking him around and an all-out war would shake the entire unstable car until it threatened to fall.
However, neither of those things happened. Well, rather a combination of Roy’s charm and Jason’s unhinged hostility.
“‘M afraid I can’t let you follow our little lady over here, so if this is your floor, you better hop out now, dude.” Roy was smiling, but it didn’t meet his usually warm eyes at all. No, this was a hostile and frightening grimace under the guise of a smile.
“We’re all men here, right?” It was completely slurred, but you were able to make out what he’d said.
Your heart pounded frantically with every second that ticked on.
“That we are.” Roy’s lips grew tighter, essentially baring his teeth at that point. “Let’s get a move on, bud.”
The man, however, didn’t head the warning and continued on as if he hadn’t been interrupted. “We’re men, we know what we’re doing. I know what you're both doing.” He gestured drunkenly to them, then to you. “Just like she knows what she’s doing. 'Specially when they walk around in them little school girl uniforms askin’ for it-”
Jason’s capriciousness is unleashed in a well-timed fist to the face, effectively cutting off the sleazy man’s ramblings.
One punch was all it took for the man to crumble to the elevator floor.
You couldn’t help the gasp that slipped from your mouth and into the silent car at the display of violence that took place in front of you. It was only in the aftermath that the true weight of the situation fell upon you.
If you’d been alone… You didn’t have to say it out loud because it’d been what you’d all already been thinking.
As you left the elevator in heavy silence, your stomach swirled and churned with unease at the memory of his black eyes. It was as if he could somehow see beneath your clothes.
You felt completely dirty and utterly nauseated.
Probably for the best, you realized with a sigh, considering you didn’t have any food to cook, but that was something to think about once Roy and Jason left. You hated to admit that the thought of them leaving didn’t quell any lingering nausea. After all, they’d been the ones who’d saved you.
What would you have been able to do alone?
You’d been apparently staring at the front of your apartment door for too long because Jason and Roy both cleared their throats. You shook your head, robotically going through the familiar motion of pulling out your keys and unlocking the door as if on autopilot. No, you knew you were on autopilot because you kept forgetting Roy and Jason’s presence.
It was odd hearing voices and movement around the apartment. You weren't alone, per se, but with every rippling ache reverberating throughout the fog in your skull, you knew you were mentally alone.
“Where are your parents?”
You winced at the question, not having the energy to play it off.
No ‘are you okay?’, no ‘how are you feeling?’- no. It was the most invasive question you’d wanted to avoid this whole time. It was quite literally the entire reason that you hadn’t wanted them to come up in the first place.
You came out of your brain fog long enough to see them both looking around at the completely bare walls. You’re sure it was because it clearly lacked the normal familial clutter they were used to.
You would never tell them but, ever since you were eight, you’d begun the process of raising yourself in your parent's absence.
They were addicted to gambling, robbing and anything to do with money. Some might even consider them common thieves; you would just consider them absent addicts. They meant almost nothing to you. There was a small part of you that wished for a normal family life where your parents were more focused on taking you apple picking in the fall and swimming at the pool in the summer rather than their next fix of dirty money.
Jason noticed you were seeming to respond again and slowly approached you. “Would you want to stay at the manor tonight?”
Roy looked concerned like he wanted to ask something more, but instead, he let you take your time answering. Seeing their brows knit together with worry only made your stomach churn more.
You considered the offer, but you were used to dealing with this side of town. At least, so you tried to convince yourself. If anything, tonight was a grim reminder that you really didn’t stand a chance in these parts, even against some piss-drunk fuck.
“No.” You cleared your throat after hearing how small and pathetic your voice sounded. You wanted to shower and burn your uniform.
“I’m sorry, but it had nothing to do with what you were wearing and everything to do with him being an absolute pedophile.” You must’ve let the last part slip out in your half-minded state but couldn’t find it within yourself to be embarrassed by Roy comforting you.
Roy looked to Jason, who finally spoke, “We can teach you self-defense that could help you in those situations if they ever happen again.”
You looked up into Jason’s emerald eyes, but your gaze was evidently dull and unfocused, “Maybe another time.” You wanted for them to leave and stay at the same time. It was just like how you wanted to shower, knew you needed to, but refused to move from the spot you’d been standing in since arriving.
They said your name in unison and then looked between themselves with concerned looks. “We can stay here if that would be more comfortable?” Jason’s words came out as more of a question than anything, obviously unsure of how to traverse the difficult topic at hand.
“At least while you shower!” Roy chirped with kind eyes that begged yours to meet his own. You couldn’t.
They didn’t want to leave you…?
“Yeah.” You were too tired for words.
Finally, you forced yourself to take step after step as the man’s voice repeated itself over and over again in your head.
You walked to the hallway dead ahead and into the bathroom before turning on the shower.
Your hamper was in the closet in the hallway that faced the living room where Roy and Jason were currently stationed. In your haze-clouded brain, you didn’t seem to notice or care as you walked back into the hallway to strip in front of the hamper. You made quick work of discarding your ruined uniform, throwing it onto the heap of your other dirty clothes, not caring if Roy or Jason saw as you continued the motions of your usual routine.
You returned to the bathroom and immediately stepped into its cold spray, not having had the patience to wait for it to heat up, though you regretted it instantly with a pathetic hiss. Soon, the shower had heated up to where you’d turned the nozzle all the way to red. You reveled in the scalding water that singed your skin red in its wake.
You were clean. No, not completely clean, but definitely cleaner than you'd been in the elevator. You miserably realized that you would never truly feel clean when you could still picture and hear everything.
Eventually, you heard a knock on the door, reminding you that you of your company.
“What?” It came out harsh, but you couldn't think too hard on it. No, you were more preoccupied with your pitiful spiraling.
“Just checking on you,” came Jason’s gentle voice. “Roy headed out to get something for us to eat and maybe some groceries.”
Your stomach growled loudly enough that you were sure Jason heard it. You were even more embarrassed that, by now, they’d probably gone through your empty cabinet and fridge.
You didn’t respond, so you assumed Jason had gone back to the living room while you finished washing off your fourth round of suds. It was only in the foggy after-haze of your shower that you stepped out into your towel that you realized how rude you were being. You hope they wouldn’t hold it against you after everything they'd done to help you.
You just weren’t in the right mindset right now.
Emerging from the bathroom, a wall cloud of steam billowed out from behind your small form. You stepped out into the hall and nearly tripped over Jason, who was stationed right outside the bathroom on the floor, in the process.
“Woah!” He caught you in his arms before you could fall face-first to the floor. “I got you,” he said your name as he righted you and helped you stand.
He looked away as you fiddled with your towel and headed into your room, shutting the door lightly behind you. You didn't care that it didn’t click into place, leaving a slight path of light from hallway into your own. You used this light to pull on your most basic t-shirt and short PJ set, seeing as the superhero ones didn’t appeal to you at the moment for some reason. You still pulled on your bat signal socks, though, before walking back out into the living room.
Jason looked you up and down from where he slouched on the couch, but his eyes revealed nothing and you weren’t fully there enough to analyze it further.
You hadn’t shaved in a few days, so stubble showed across your bare legs that were normally covered by your uniform socks, but you didn’t give a fuck. It didn’t seem like Jason cared either as he tore his eyes away from your exposed legs to meet your eyes. “Do you want to talk about anything?” It was Jason’s way of asking if you wanted to talk about it.
“What’s there to talk about? Grown men suck.” It'd been an understatement. “They ruin everything.” You’d be stuck picturing the elevator ride from tonight every time you’d get in it.
“I know.” He shifted a bit on the couch so he could better face you, albeit awkwardly. “It’s good you know it’s not your fault though, right? You didn’t do anything or cause this in any way.” Jason was very clearly trying to let you know that it was the dude’s problem, not yours. It’d been something you’d been thinking about since the incident.
You, however, were mostly worried about what would happen once Jason and Roy left and it was just you in the building by yourself again. What would you do if you ran into that man again? What if he stalked your floor door-by-door until he found you? You hoped he’d be drunk enough to forget everything, but you couldn’t be sure.
Suddenly, the door burst open and Roy walked in with piles of plastic to-go containers that stacked up way over top of his red hair.
“Solved our little problem.” He set down the bags on your laminate kitchen counters, doing a double take when he saw you sitting on the couch next to Jason. “The food problem, that is!” he exclaimed as he rushed to cover his previous statement for some unknown reason. “Who’s hungry?”
Jason snorted and got up to help Roy unpack the Chinese food, “We all are, idiot.”
You thought back to the two edibles they’d eaten earlier and imagined they’d have the munchies at this point. It was only then that the redness in both of their eyes became apparent, making each of their unique green colors stand out even more than usual.
The munchies definitely explain the shit ton of food that’s being shoved onto the small amount of counter space you had.
“There’s only three of us,” you said quietly, motioning to the eight food containers.
“I know, but you’re a princess, so I gotta bring you a feast,” he smiled with crinkled eyes, but all you could think about was the terrifying one he’d shot at the drunk man in the elevator.
Your eyes glazed over once again, heart pounding after suddenly being thrown back into that moment. You stare down at your feet.
“What do you want?” Jason’s gentle voice washed over you, forcing you to focus back on the options in front of you.
You weren’t feeling too hungry, all things considered. “Whatever's good.”
Another glance between them, but you were too tired to care, let alone read more into it. You found yourself walking back to the couch where you curled into the blanket that you kept on the arm of it.
Roy handed Jason your plate and his before making his way over to you on the couch. “Want me to turn something on?”
Truthfully, you hadn’t even bothered to try and turn the thing on yet.
“I only get news channels,” you lied.
“I have Hulu on my phone?” he suggested as he handed you his phone to flip through the options. “Just pick something and I think I can AirPlay it to your TV.”
You clicked on Andrew Garfield in a Spider-Man outfit, then handed it back to Roy. He fiddled for a second with his phone and the TV until it popped up on the flat screen your parents had stolen from your neighbors when you’d moved from your old place to here. It was a pleasant surprise that it worked, seeing as every other TV they'd stolen (and hadn’t pawned) never did.
Jason squeezed in between you and Roy, balancing three plates piled high with random Chinese goodness like a professional waiter. He distributed two of them out to you and Roy and kept the last for himself.
“You have good taste in spider men,” Roy attempted to joke and get you to nerd out, but you were more focused on eating with your tumultuous stomach. “We could teach you Spidey self-defense.” He obnoxiously pretended to shoot off webs like Spider-Man and even makes cute little noises to go with it.
You smiled a bit finally at that, leaving Roy to beam at the sight.
Jason pretended to be absorbed in the food, but you saw how his eyes lingered on your smile just a bit longer than normal. You knew he was glad to see you coming out of your fog a bit more.
You thought back to the moment and realized how different it could’ve gone if you’d been able to actually defend yourself. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea after all?
“I think it would be good for me to know that.” It definitely couldn’t hurt. “It happened so fast,” you said, looking between them with fearful eyes. “If you guys hadn’t walked me up, I would’ve been alone.”
They nodded gravely.
It’s only then you felt the tears spill from your eyes.
You’d always been alone, you were used to being alone, but this time you weren’t and, because of it, something awful was prevented from happening. You tried to stifle your sniffling quietly so they wouldn’t notice, but it was fruitless. The first sob slipped out without permission, gaining both of their attention. They swiftly took care of the plates before wrapping you and your blanket cocoon in their arms, holding on tightly.
“I’m sorry that this happened to you,” Roy spoke first, with his deep rumble cutting through your silent cries. “We both are.”
You felt their hands lightly tracing patterns on your back and laugh somewhat when their hands met near the middle of your back. They both immediately pull away with hurried ‘sorry’s’ and mumbled excuses. You yawned, pulling them both back to curl around you and snuggled your head onto Roy’s chest, who stilled instantly at the sudden contact. You felt him glance up at Jason, who merely curled against your back, lightly leaning his head on Roy’s and on top of your own. You tucked your head under his chin and furrowed further into Roy’s exposed collar bones.
Once you and Jason were settled, Roy kicked his feet up onto your coffee table and got comfortable himself.
“Don’t suppose you’d want to sleep in a bed?” he whispered, but the even breathing coming from your small body against him was the only answer he received.
You floated through school the next day, completely preoccupied with the events that took place last night both in the elevator and your apartment.
Damian could either sense it like some freaky pack animal shit or, more likely, Jason had told him. You figured this to be true because Damian refused to leave your side the entire day, even going so far as to insist on you spending the night at the manor. You agreed easily, having already prepared for it by bringing your daily essentials with you in your backpack to lessen the number of trips you’d need to take back to the apartment.
Stephanie and Tim joined you, Jason and Roy at lunch, which helped keep your mind off of everything. That is, aside from the fact that everyone was walking on eggshells and shooting you the most pitiful glances that made your stomach knot.
Damian was the most tolerable, aside from Jason and Roy who’d woken up with you. For the most part, though, none of them were pressing further. There was a part of him that seemed like he was holding back from saying something to you, but he never convinced himself to actually spit it out. It was just as well; you’d already grown tired of the topic and tired of feeling the cacophony of emotions that always followed.
You truly owed Roy and Jason so much for stopping that man. You didn’t know how you’d ever be able to make it up to them.
You walked home with the group, mainly trying to keep up appearances when they brought you into the conversation, but Damian made sure to keep you somewhat involved and distracted from your thoughts.
You were brought back to the present by Damian rehashing gossip he’d picked up on in the class you missed yesterday. You could hardly keep up with people’s first names, let alone their last names, enough to actually know who Damian was referring to. In the end, you were just glad for the noise. It was nice not to have to talk when you were still feeling so out of it.
“And she said that she didn’t fornicate with him and that it was all a ‘simple misunderstanding.’” Damian was flapping his hands around dramatically in frustration at the story. “How do you accidentally fornicate?” He pointed a finger at you to further his point. “And, coming from her, it’s rich, seeing as last year at the 8th grade party she couldn’t keep her sloppy ass away from…” You tuned him out as Jason and Roy sped by on his motorcycle, flipping you all off. “And Elliot, being her nosey self-”
“That’s rich,” you joked lightly, not realizing you'd accidentally cut him off.
His eyes sparkled at the sight of your small smile. “Whatever. I know you live for the drama, too.”
You fled from his intense, hazel gaze to stare back down at Tim’s pristine sneakers on the sidewalk directly in front of you.
“So long as it’s not about me, I guess,” you tried, but it fell flat.
Damian picked up where he left off, not allowing you to bask in the silence long enough for what happened last night to resurface. “I personally didn’t even want to go to the party, but Father made me.” Damian looked for a reaction and when you gave none, he continued, “I wore a fine tuxedo, but everyone else dressed down for some reason.”
You couldn’t help but giggle, imagining Damian showing up to the summer pool party in a three-piece suit.
“Hush,” he said your last name with gentle mirth. You hadn’t realized until that point that Stephanie and Tim had long stopped talking, but Damian didn’t seem to care or notice. “I wish we would’ve known each other then. It surely would’ve been more enjoyable with your company,” he confessed as he looked at you out of the corners of his eyes.
“I’m sure I would’ve had fun with you too.” You thought about what you would’ve worn, what the pool looked like, etc.
“I suppose we could go to the homecoming dance together next month.” He was still looking at you with a vulnerability you’d never seen from him before. “It’s not exactly the same, but it might make up for your previous absence.”
“Yeah, sure. That sounds fun.”
You locked eyes again and he lightly smiled. “We always do what I want to do when we’re here,” Damian said once you’d reached the manor. “So, what would you want to do?”
You thought back to your bare kitchen and how fully stocked his had been. “Would you want me to teach you to bake?”
“I heard bake!” Roy yelled from the kitchen, where he and Jason were in the middle of making enough sandwiches to feed at least eight people.
You and Damian wandered into the kitchen after bidding Tim and Stephanie goodbye. You were starting to get a hunch that they were a thing… You’d have to remember to ask Damian later.
Whatever they were, it seemed off today.
Jason ended up helping you more than Damian or Roy did, that is, until Jason started sneezing and coughing and Damian told him to scram. Well, less told and more demanded.
Roy headed out a bit after Jason left and while the scones were still chilling in the fridge. He left after giving you a big hug and a head ruffle to Damian, making him huff in annoyance.
“Call me if you need anything,” Roy was cut off by Damian slamming the door behind him, but you could still hear Roy’s laughter through the thick, wooden door.
“I’ll never pretend to understand why you’re hanging out with them all of a sudden.” Damian turned his scowl on you. He suddenly seemed to remember the night you’d had and sheepishly rubbed at the back of his neck. “Never mind, I’m just glad you’re here,” his voice trailed off with a slight rasp.
Recently you’d noticed more voice cracks that became less sporadic throughout the weeks and that the voice you’d met had been slightly changing each day.
You snorted, “You don’t need to go all soft on me because of what happened.”
“You have no family either.”
You winced even though he hadn’t meant it as a jab. “Yeah, that too. Glad you’re caught up on everything.” You pushed past him abruptly to pull the chilled dough from the fridge and put it into the preheated oven. “Guess that’s why Tim wouldn’t talk to me today.”
“It’s not because of that.” Damian seemed willing to fork over whatever information you wanted to stop being mad at him. “He and Brown are on the rocks.”
“I knew they were a thing!” you exclaimed, turning around with the dirty mixing bowl in your hands. And, as you recalled, you also felt like something was off between them in the foyer early, too.
Damian took the bowl from your grasp and placed it in the sink. “Anyone with eyes could see that, stupid,”
“Whatever.”
You absentmindedly jumped up onto the counter, then remembered it wasn’t your house and shamefully slid down, hoping Damian wouldn’t notice. He did. He jumped onto the counter and pat the spot next to him somewhat demandingly.
“The only person who uses the kitchen is Pennyworth and Todd, so no one will care about your ass or mine being on here,” you snorted and hopped back up before booping his nose. He’d been nothing but helpful and understanding in how to approach what happened and you were extremely appreciative. He looked at you like you’d grown a third eye. “What’s your deal,” he said your name in a deep voice you’d never heard from him before, sending shivers down your spine.
What was with you? This was your friend... He didn't like you like that.
Your faces were mere inches apart without you even realizing it. Suddenly, Damian abruptly pulled away as if spooked by the close proximity.
Yeah, he definitely didn't like you like that and, to be honest, you didn't know if you did either. It was almost as if you were addicted to the intoxicating feeling of being wanted and that's what you held fast to.
You were just backing away from him when a deep voice cleared slightly, causing you both to turn immediately to the source- Bruce Wayne.
He walked over near the sink to grab an apple without a glance in Damian's or your direction. “I don’t think we’ve officially met.”
You slipped from the counter bashfully, even after Damian reassured you it wasn’t an issue, but you didn’t dare break eye contact with the older man. It was seemingly a challenge from the infamous playboy and you were more than willing to meet it head-on.
You smiled as genuinely as you could while simultaneously preventing yourself from shitting your pants, well, skirt, on the spot under his intense inspection. You told him your name with only the slightest wobble in your tone as you smoothed down the tweed fabric that had ridden up as you slipped off the counter, “It’s nice to meet you properly, Mr. Wayne.”
"Call me Bruce," he chuckled politely and threw the red apple into the air before catching it quickly. “I’m sure I don’t have to make excuses for my sons at this point, though, if you’ve been hanging around my youngest.”
“His only,” Damian muttered. It’s only then that you felt like you could look back at him for support. When you turned around, you were met with the sight of him hunched over with crossed arms on the counter.
“I see my point has been proven,” he winked at you, leaving you to genuinely laugh.
Damian tch’ed.
“I’m making scones if you’d like some,” you pointed at his state-of-the-art oven. “Jason got sick yesterday at the diner-” you cut yourself off, but it was too late. You looked up at Bruce hesitantly. “After school?” you tried to mend your statement, but it was in vain. It was definitely new having to cover up things for adults seeing as you answered to no one. You made eye contact with anything but the attractive man in front of you who towered over you without even trying. “Anyway, it’s his recipe and I wanted to make him something,” you shrugged and trailed off lamely.
You didn’t want to mention that Jason had also helped save you from an attack last night, but you assumed Bruce already knew, anyway.
“That’s the whole reason I came in here,” he said, disregarding your admission to skipping and instead moving to open the door to see the dough browning. "It smells delicious.”
The older man who’d taken you home the first time you visited walked in soon after Bruce and also commented on the smell. “I assumed Master Jason was in here, but it seems like you might just take my job, Miss,” he said your name and you smiled lightly. “Master Damian, see to it that the proper accommodations are ready for your friend.” He turned to you once again. “You will be staying for dinner, Miss?”
You awkwardly looked back at Damian, who was blatantly staring at you. “Only if it’s no hassle.” You still had lots of leftover Chinese at home, but you didn’t feel safe there on your own quite yet.
“Of course not, Miss,” he said your last name again and bowed out of the room.
Bruce was about to follow but hesitated and faced you again. You looked up at him expectantly, making him falter slightly. It’d been evident enough that Damian noticed and decided to comment on.
“What?” he spat at his father.
Bruce gave him an admonishing glance before addressing you, “If you ever feel unsafe or just want to come over, you’re welcome here any time.”
Your heart swelled at the offer and you couldn't deny that you felt your eyes start to glisten. “That means a lot.”
It'd been a long 24 hours.
He nodded and gave you and Damian one last look before following after the older man. “I’ll be back for the scones.” He shot you a smile that you returned easily.
“Father approves of you,” Damian said as soon as Bruce was out of earshot.
“How? I basically told him I skipped school with your brother,” you shot him an incredulous look as you moved to take the scones out of the oven.
“I’m not related to those fools,” Damian said with a slight voice crack. You laughed and he glared unappreciatively in response. “Let’s go see if Alfred set up your bed.”
“What do you mean?” There were so many rooms you highly doubted Bruce would want two 14-year-olds of the opposite sex sleeping in the same room.
“There’s an air mattress.”
“So, I sleep in your bed?” you tried.
“Pfft, don’t be ridiculous,” he said your last name. “I would never sleep on such a contraption.”
“Gee, sounds comfortable. Can’t wait,” you said sarcastically.
“You’ll enjoy it.” He hopped down from the counter while you fanned off the scones. Damian mischievously grabbed one and sneakily pulled it away before you could smack it out of his hand. “Too slow.”
“That’s because you’re a fucking ninja or something,” you snorted. “And I’ll take your word on the mattress.”
At this, you placed a few scones on a plate and motioned for him to follow you to Jason’s room with some help from your friend to find it.
Once there, you knocked on his door lightly and heard shuffles, then a sneeze, then a curse, then the door opened. The sight that met you had you nearly dropping the scones had it not been for Damian and Jason’s quick, cat-like reflexes.
You gazed up beet red at a shirtless Jason, which matched the crimson of his red boxers that matched your obvious blush.
"What?"
“I- we made you scones.” You shoved them into his arms and turned on your heel before he could thank you, well, technically before you could make an even bigger fool of yourself.
“Thanks, I guess,” Jason called after your retreating form, but you didn’t bother to turn around as you continued toward the art room for refuge.
Damian caught up to you easily. “Why are you acting like that?”
“Like what?” you snapped.
You weren’t in the mood to have your capricious hormones tested when his were obviously doing the same with all his recent, very comical, you might add, voice cracks. You turned around to give him one of his signature glares as a warning to drop it.
He looked into your eyes, then at your blush and huffed, “If that’s all it takes, then… Never mind.”
“Good,” you huffed right back and turned away from him. You suddenly noticed a new painting he’d done that was still drying. You walked towards it, analyzing the somehow aggressive, sharp strokes from a watercolor brush. “It's safe to say your style translates across any medium.”
He came up behind you, already knowing which painting you were looking at. It was your face, after all.
“And what style is that?”
You look at him for a moment, then back at the canvas. “These lines you do are always sharp and heavy, even in watercolor. It looks like you were moments away from ripping through the paper but didn’t. You stared closer at it. “It’s really beautiful. Can I keep it?”
He regarded you for a moment, hesitating briefly. “Are you sure you want it? I can make a better one of you,” he said as he motioned for you to sit in one of the expensive-looking armchairs that adorned the room.
You shrugged, glad for the distraction and leaned back in the chair with your legs crossed over one another to conceal your underwear in your tweed skirt. You rested your elbow that was closest to the window down onto the arm of the chair and brought that hand to rest lightly and effortlessly against your rosy cheek.
Damian’s eyes slid up and down your body with a heavy gaze, then seemed to remember the task at hand and picked up his brush to dip into varying shades of reddish-pink and green. “Why those colors?”
“They remind me of you,” he responded, not bothering to glance up from the canvas to answer you until moments later when he needed to reference you. “You’re very curved, which makes it more satisfying to draw your shapes.”
“Thanks, I think?” You laughed but stopped after Damian reprimanded you for messing up your pose. “Sorry, sorry,” you did your best to smooth your face back down. “I don’t think I’ve seen a single curved line in any of your work yet.”
“That’s because I’ve never had a live model before,” he was definitely staring at your tits now, which were very prominently on display in your long sleeve, v-neck shirt.
“Damian Wayne’s first live model. What a prestigious yet oddly creepy title to be given.”
He smirked. “Just stay still, would you?” You followed his orders and returned back to your original position. “Are you wearing lipstick?”
You subconsciously touched your lips. “No, why?”
“They look nice,” he said without looking up. “You don’t wear makeup, do you?”
“Sometimes I do, I don’t know. I don’t really think about it all too much.” His brows knitted together in concentration while he analyzed your features with careful precision. “Have you ever worn makeup?” you countered his question.
He regarded you with an odd face. “Not willingly, no.”
“But you have?” You were surprised to hear Damian had walked around with anything on his face. You assumed maybe he was talking about concealer before going to a Wayne event, but you couldn’t imagine anything more than that.
He sighed and put his brush down, “Drake and Brown thought it’d be funny to hold me down and put a whole bunch of shit on my face when I was like nine.” You barked out an unexpected laugh at the imagery. “It wasn’t fucking funny.” He glared at you. “Whatever,” he said when you wouldn’t shut up and picked back up the brush to capture your smiling face.
“I bet you looked beautiful,” you were part teasing, part being honest. Damian had truly stunning features that could definitely be highlighted through a little liquid eyeliner and smoked-out eyeshadow.
“Fuck off.” From where you were, you could see Damian’s painting process. It was as if you were there for reference but only second to where his hand already wanted to go. Almost like he was possessed by an already mapped-out picture in his mind. The brush slid across the canvas at an alarming pace for what seemed like forever as it scattered from the cup, to the paints, to the canvas. “I’m almost done with the main outline. I can finish the rest without you needing to pose.”
“Alright,” you yawned, asking Damian for the time.
“It’s almost time for dinner. Let me just finish up.” He dipped the brush in the water a few more times, making dramatic, long lines across the canvas before setting down the brush. After a moment of inspecting his work, he called you over to look.
“Oh, wow.” To say he made you look incredible was an understatement- you looked like an actual goddess. He’d captured every minute detail about you in this outline, even on account of the challenging new medium he was using. “Damian, this is crazy good. I can’t even believe how little time it took you to make this!” He didn’t know how to react to the praise, which only made you want to continue to stroke his ego. “I think I’ll need you to teach me how to paint people with watercolors because I sure as fuck can’t.”
“Please,” he disregarded your praise with warm cheeks, “I merely used the techniques you showed me. You’re just being modest.”
“Whatever,” you blew him off, staring at all the little details. “This is amazing. You’re amazing," you added the last part at the last second.
Damian shifted under your attention uncomfortably. “We better not be late to dinner, or Pennyworth will have our heads.”
You couldn’t quite place a person like Damian Wayne, not then, at least. Would you ever be able to? That was something you weren’t sure of.
“Alright, let’s go.”

Blind Watch BSD Season Five
I Feel Spiritually Unwell After That. Unfortunately @wafflesarecool and @animusmelodiam and I have completed season five of BSD. fortunately this means I can come back to Tumblr to not avoid spoilers Animus kept reblogging. However, as was pointed out by Animus before we started, this was very stroke inducing.
First off, as always, Animus Numbers:
Waffle disconnect count: 15
"what the fuck" count: 31 (thanks Amenogozen, Bram, and Fyodor!)
Animus numbers keep us pogging through the pain
We started off strong, immediately hating the Russians.
"he's fucking insane. but I'm rooting for him because I hate Fyodor more"
"'I hate both of them, but I hate this one slightly less so I'm rooting for him' is the entire mood"
Kyouka Lucy and Atsushi trio are top tier. We love them dearly.
"I believe Poe is a trained sniper over them not seeing a car in a flat area anyday."
"Waffle Ranpo is being the greatest detective to ever live. Stop dying."
Many, many, many "what the fuck that is a horrible idea" were said
WHY ARE VAMPIRES CANON???
"The most unprofessional UN meeting... why is waffle still dead"
"cuz he doesn't want to see the horrible UN meeting"
"true"
waffle becomes alive
"All you missed was a terrible UN meeting"
Oh look, we finally remember Atsushi has regenerative powers. How nice and convenient.
"where the fuck is emo at"
"How funny of you to ask"
"EMO!"
"EMO!"
All of these characters need to fucking consider getting some therapy
THE FUCKING LIGHTSABER??? IS A CHEAT SWORD!! FUCK THAT FUCKING SWORD I FUCKING HATE IT IT'S HORRIBLE FUCK THAT SWORD!!!
See Akutagawa cares too much about Dazai's approval, therefore, trying to make him betray that trust is tantamount to geeting tiger claws slashing you in the face.
Tachihara become Toph arc! You can learn from Jouno!
Speaking of Jouno what ever happened to that guy. Find out more next time I Guess!
bram pack
Aya and Bram have adopted each other. Kunikida and Bram get to have custody battle over Aya a la fist fighting her father.
"poor aya. I have a baked potato tho."
Never Fucking Piss Off The Happy Person.
Speaking of angered Kenji, how has the one power that was literally compared to Mother Nature itself not been played upon as Kenji being a vessel for a godly power similar to Chuuya and Atsushi? Like it's right there.
Yeet The Kenji.
"dazai don't try to drown Chuuya. Learn some humanity"
Chuuya deserves to kill Dazai As A Treat.
"Bram lives in an eternal state of going through it"
"Well he lives in an eternal state of being impaled, of course he's going through it."
The Fucking Shoujo Springtime Filer?????
"why is he being crucified? Why is bram jesu?"
The comparison of Bram to Jesus was found to be extra funny after Fyodor's last words.
"I love Sigma dearly, but he brought a gun to a knife fight and Lost."
SHOOT EM SHOOT EM DEAD
AYA NO BAD AYA- oh well ok fine sure.
"Atsushi your boyfriend is a vampire"
Bram has officially adopted Aya can't change my mind
"hey look, it's the cockroach" "dammit i was hoping Chuuya killed his ass"
THE END GOAL WAS SO FUCKING STUPID. THAT'S NOT HOW THAT WORKS. THAT'S NOT HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS. HUMANS CAN'T BE UNIFIED UNDER ONE LEADER AND FUCK THE PAGE IF THAT EVER WORKS LIKE THAT WITH IT'S STUPID LITTLE GOD ABILITIES. FUCKING DUMB AS HELL.
ALSO WHO THE FUCK IS THE UN TO DECIDE THQAT? THE UN ISN'T MADE UP OF EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY TO EXIST AND IT'S JUST LIKE 100 PEOPLE AT MAX DECIDINMG THE FATE OF THE WORLD SHOULD BE IN THE HANDS OF ONE ALL POWERFUL PERSON? NO FUCK YOU. LIKE CAT DAD SAID ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY. THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS AND IT SHOULD NEVER WORK LIKE THAT FUCLK THE TRANSMITTER FUCK THAT END GOAL.
THE ARGUMENT OF WHAT A STATE IS IS LIKE A MIDDLE SCHOOL ANARCHISTS IDEOLOGY OF WHY GOVERNMENT IS BAD. THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS AND THAT'S NEVER HOW IT EVER COULD WORK.
Also Ranpo had way too much fun being a terrorist. But like, he deserved to commit crime. As a treat.
Anyway, I gotta go work. This was hell.

JUST READ WG 2 AND GIRLL I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS. First off, good on my girl for not texting Ari back and having an actual spine🤬🤬 (even if she did her manipulated like 5 seconds later but I'm just happy she stood for herself.) And then the whole thing with Curtis, I thought it was kinda cute but then I got turned off cause he left so easily. Like is Ari your daddy or what? The smut was sooo filthy in this chapter. He's such an asshole but I loved how possessive he was of her. I wanted to punch his handsome face and kiss it at the same time. He's literally such a bitch. Leaving her like that after he fucked her in front of everyone. I mean he did clean her up this time and they had a cute little moment and he was clearly a teeny bit hesitant to leave her for Sharon for a moment. BUT HE STILL DID. ASSHOLE. I absolutely hate him for that🙄🙄
BUTTT when Steve arrived omg. I love how he babies her sm and ugh, I'm just imagining tall, blonde, handsome Steve saving her from Ari. Ari getting so jealous over seeing her a guy who can finally compete w him was so satisfying. Like we have options too. And I ❤️ how clearly Steve paid some dude to act like an Uber and drive back to her place and made her sit on his lap and made her shut up abt Ari. Now maybe I'm biased but ughhh I want him for her so bad, like he treats her so well from the get go and isn't an ass like Ari. When he said "if u were my girl u wouldn't be able to step a foot in this party let alone be left alone unattended" I literally folded. And when he gave her his jacket and told her to hand it up where everyone else can see?????? I hope Ari sees that shit and loses it.
in all honesty, I'm still rooting for my daddy Ari 😭 but idk he's such a bitch but I feel like HE CAN CHANGE. Maybe if he really tries. I need him to!! I want him to realize that he wants her and beg for her forgiveness but at the same time, I want to see him suffer cause tbh he doesn't deserve her.
Thank u for the delicious fic again girlie, this literally made my morning
--🚿🚿
Omg shower anon!!! Thank you for reading!!! And sending this feedback!!🩷🩷🩷🙏🏼🙏🏼
Firstly yes, reader had a spine and didn’t text Ari back and I love that for her despite the fact that she proceeded to fall into his trap at the party anyways😂😭
And bahahaha you’re so right like WHY did Curtis back off so easily SKSJSKAK but it’s bc Ari is the leader of the group and they all respect him and so Curtis wouldn’t really go after Ari’s girl (he was pushing it tho, I think he enjoyed playing with her)
Now the Ari public party smut was meant to be filthy and nobody has commented on the things he was saying 😭😭 like bro really lost it with the “you wish sharon was watching us don’t you” 💀💀💀💀 BUT READER LIKED IT aksjskskak
And okay so the Steve part! So the guy actually WAS an Uber driver, Steve just paid him not to say anything while he made reader ride him in the backseat 😂 like a little extra tip for the driver to be silent and mind his business ajsjsjaja these guys are DARK yall 😭😭
Now bestie I wouldn’t say Steve “treats her well” seeing as he’s got subtle dark, dangerous moments throughout AND he also manipulates her and takes advantage of her… almost like he’s got an ulterior motive 🤔 bUT YES HE IS AS OF RIGHT NOW LESS OF AN ASS THAN ARI SO I GET YOUUU
but shower anon ily for still rooting for Ari!!! Only bc it’s nice to have some variety and seems like most others are rooting for Steve!! Which is good, I needed people to root for him too, that’s why I wrote him to be so dark dangerous and hot 🤭🤭
