3a. Mermaid Wallace, with the tentacles of a mimic octopus below the waist, floats underwater next to mermaid Guillermo. They are wearing a woven vest studded with shells and pearls, a black doppa hat with puka shells, a pearl necklace, a pendant with a claw, and several rings on unwebbed fingers. Their tentacles are relaxed, colored in the usual brick and cream stripes, and they have black claws and small horns above each eye. Wallace grins slyly as they wave their arms mysteriously and dangle a necklace in front of Guillermo’s face. It is a simple braided string with a snail shell on the end, which is glowing bright blue and burping out shiny bubbles. Guillermo, wearing a kelp bandolier with two stakes tied into it at his hip is staring at it with wide, fascinated eyes, one hand reaching up slowly for it. He says, “So…this will let me survive in the Trench?” Wallace replies, “Guaranteed.” 3b. Repeat. Wallace suddenly snatches the necklace back into their hand, cutting off the glow, their other hand planting itself on their hip. Their tentacles darken into black and bright crimson stripes and fan out threateningly in the water as they clarify, “For 72 hours only. And $350 cash.” Guillermo snatches his hands back to hold them protectively against his chest, head sinking into his shoulders in shock as he frowns back up at Wallace.

4a. Mermaid Guillermo and mermaid Laszlo float side by side in the deep, Guillermo wearing his kelp bandolier and Wallace’s magic snail shell necklace, which continues to burp out small glowing blue bubbles. Laszlo bares his fangs upwards and tosses up his hands as if to amplify his voice, shouting, “Fish!” Startled, Guillermo jerks back, one hand half-raising in a readied fist and the other clutching a stake behind his back. 4b. Repeat. With a poof of bubbles, Laszlo transforms into a brightly glowing dark teal snaggletooth fish with bulging eyes, a chin barbel, an unhingeable jaw full of long sharp teeth, and bioluminescent green spots down each side. He looks to be about four inches (or 10cm) long. Guillermo immediately relaxes, unimpressed, and drops his arms while staring at the tiny fish with a “you’ve got to be kidding me” expression. Fish Laszlo squeaks, “Not so tough now, eh??”

5a. Close up of mermaid Nandor in hunting mode, rushing left across the screen, his bioluminescent spots and glowing red eyes streaking light behind as he goes. He has one arm rushing forward as if to snatch whatever he’s chasing and the other held braced and ready at his shoulder, claws bared. He has spiny webbing like a bat’s wing underneath each arm, a spiny fin for an ear,and the webbed black spines at his shoulders have lengthened and spread out like an angry frilled lizard. His jaw has unhinged and gaped open, morphing and stretching his face into something monstrous and revealing dozens of long, sharp, thin teeth snarling and ready for the kill. 5b. Mermaid Guillermo floats nearby watching, eyes bulging out and face blushing bright red as he clutches the snail shell necklace in his laced fingers as if it were a rosary. Tilly & Finley Wild Manes Review

since i got a hold of these girlies lets investimigate- apologies for overexposure

first, individual pics of each of them. here's finley:

who is themed after a pool party, of course. when i bought her at target, the self checkout display called her Isla, which makes sense as a working name for her... island.

she is white with grey hooves and a muzzle. she has blue eyeshadow with green eyes and blonde eyebrows, matching her blonde hair with a purple streak.

i will color correct these photos for the wiki, but for now, here's the raw photo of her clothes

all of the clothes are unhemmed and simply printed-on fabric with two velcro connections. my finley also had a plastic tab keeping the front attatched (which i snipped so i could remove it). you can see her mermaid tail and flamingoes on her clothes. the clothing is very thin, i don't think it might fray any time soon, but it does seem lazy for a fashion horse toy. thankfully, the hair makes up for it, we'll get there later.

each of these horses came with a brush and a non-brush accessory. finley's is wearable! she has a visor made with this magenta translucent plastic. i didn't take any pictures of it on her, but it does indeed fit on her head.

she comes with this purple brush, which you can tell is hers because of the flamingo printed on it.

and now a quick tilly rundown...

she's a brown horse with a brown muzzle and hooves, red eyeshadow, yellow eyes, and blonde eyebrows. her hair is more of a dirty blonde than finley, and her color streak is described as "periwinkle". the self checkout register called her Serena, which... yeah, i can see why they may have changed that. a little on the nose.

as you can see by her brush's symbol, she's very clearly tennis-themed. her accessory is unfortunately not wearable, instead it's a water bottle with a tennis racket printed on

if that all wasn't clear enough, her outfit has a tennis racket on it, too! there is no hemming, the "collar" is printed on. her outfit looks like a blue polo and a teal skirt.

okay, now the part people actually wanted to see. what the heck the figures look like

it's gettin' hot in here, so take off all your clothes...

both finley and tilly have the same exact model! i assume the horses (ponies? horses. fillies?) all have the same bodies. i think i can feel a few spots where the plastic feels slightly more rubbery/pliable than the others, so i do fear we may see discoloration as time goes on.

all of the legs are articulated at the shoulder or "hip" (sorry horse fans, it's a knee or something?), but only the front left leg is articulated in multiple places.

thank you girls, finley has her leg fairly straightened out whereas tilly has it bent. i haven't noticed the joints being unusually difficult to maneuver or maintain position, which bodes well for pictures. i did have a little bit of trouble getting them to balance in my photobox (likely because the bottom bows inwards a bit), but the little extra range of motion is nice. you can also twist the joints a little bit, but not super extremely.

but can she sit?

sort of? i know horses don't really naturally "sit" very well, but she still looks goofy. her neck doesn't move forwards so it's not a very great-looking pose for her to hold, but she can balance like this on her own.

her head can turn, it's on a ball join, i believe it's similar to the g4.5/g5 mlp joints but a little more restrictive. i intend to dismantle a finley for research, so ill be able to share that when the time comes. it can rotate and move up and down slightly.

more motion... one of the back legs is in a mid-walk position which made her a little awkward to balance. you can see the company name and "made in china" stamp on the inside of this leg.

it's not very clear in this image, but there's a stamp with numbers and letters on her stomach. i don't know what this means, as finley had the same code! you can also see the hooves have horseshoes with "WM" (wild manes) on them.

before we get into the manes of the wild manes, a quick little look at their eyes.

the paint looks great! it's not stippled like i've seen on a few other dolls recently. the eyes are also sculpted in, so we hopefully won't have wild misplacement like we do on the newer MLPs. they both have stars and two eye shines, and the eyelashes are the same. the only differences here are the colors.

okay. mane time.

the hair is SUPER soft. i agree with the replier who said it's Kiwi Nylon. i am very happy that the hair is so nice and hope that the others in this set are the same way! the way it's packaged in the box makes it so there are three or four rubber bands holding it in place, and it leaves the hair with the "memory" of that. i did wash and condition the hair in these photos, which also seemed to help with the small qualms i had with the hair right out of the box. it seemed a little oily and tilly had a doubled-over plug. finley didn't seem to have any rooting troubles!

all of the hair is a few rows up the back of the head with a section for bangs. you can see that they wove tilly's bangs with the longer hair that's part of her mane to hide the parting in her head, which is likely expected for a doll but a cool detail. her bangs are NOT gelled down!

here you can see five to six rows of hair on the back of the head. it's not a lot of surface area, but the hair seems thickly rooted for what it is!

here i've parted the mane on Finley so you can see the hair a little more clearly. it looks like the streaks of hair are only on the outside of the rooting.

i've been a little afraid to peel back finley's bangs lest they become unsalvagable, but here's finley's bangs peeled back.

there's still a few rows here. when i dismantle her, hopefully i can showcase her rooting pattern more clearly.

i think that's all the pictures i've taken of them so far... i got these girls at Target, and you can order them as well as Bailey and Cocoa off their site right now! i'll be updating the fandom wiki with pictures of the accessories and hopefully the rest of the girls are as high quality as these ones!

have you done a Grarrl review yet?

The Grarrl is a t-rex, and...well, that's pretty much it. It has all of the standard t-rex features: sharp teeth, reptilian eyes, and small arms. They're fine, but it doesn't feel like there's a whole lot with the base color that really makes them stand out outside of just having a lot of teeth compared to other Neopets (Poogle and Jetsam not withstanding).

I feel like part of the issue is that the Grarrl's body is completely solid in color by default, with no patterns or markings to break it up. Given their prehistoric status, I feel like stripes or speckles would've made sense; just something to break up the body and give them a tad more flavor. As is, all we have are the teeth and the green eyes with red pupils (which tend to be consistent across most, but not all, colors).

Beyond that, the base colors are alright, though for some reason the blue barely has any shading and the yellow is this off-putting dirty "mustard" color.

While the Grarrl's design has always been plain, I do think customization did them extremely dirty. Instead of being allowed to keep a more vicious expression, the Grarrl was instead saddled with an awkward smile that makes them look like they're posing for school picture day. In contrast, the old Grarrl's art gives them a big open mouth and allows them an angrier expression, which both looks much more natural and gives them a lot more personality.

Favorite Colors:

Maraquan: One of the only Grarrl pets that wasn't saddled with an awkward smile post-conversion, the Maraquan Grarrl is one of the best-looking Grarrls out there. Making a t-rex into a shark for the aquatic color works perfectly as a concept, and the execution's really nice; adding a very neat-looking ridged back fin and horizontal tail that sharks don't usually have, and fixing the plainness of the default Grarrl design by adding in a mottled white underbelly with small teal accents.

Neither version is terrible, though the UC/styled design is the better one—the fins aren't being forced into a fist, the colors aren't as over-saturated, and the tail fin shape looks a lot better (it's supposed to have a hook-like shape, not have a random spike coming off of it).

Halloween: Not only is a vampire a good choice for something with sharp teeth, but I really like the colors here; a very light minty body is contrasted with black and red accents, which makes it look both pale but also provides nice contrast without being too monotone. The cape also adds just the right amount of detail without being overly busy or detailed. The expression and mouth on the converted version, while still not as good as the old art, does look a bit more endearing and less awkward than usual, and I really wish they had used that mouth shape for the default Grarrl.

As of writing, there's only a "spooky" style instead of an actual nostaligic style that matches the old art, but reguardless it does look very nice. I like the pose and expression a lot, it brings back the black clasp (which was made blue for some reason during conversion), and I like the addition of the claws on the feet. Only complaint is that I wish they had given it darker eye bags, which were present both on the original art and the converted art.

Faerie: The faerie Grarrl having feathers is interesting, because feathered wings are usually restricted to avian Neopets; but then again dinosaurs are birds, so this is actually pretty clever. The orange, pink, and yellow palette looks nice, and I really like the speckled markings here and the addition of horns and dragon-like whiskers.

Unsurprisingly the UC/styled art is better, though I will say the converted has slightly better wings; I can't quite figure out the perspective on the original art. That said, the original art's head shade and expression look 10x better so you know, pick your poison.

my tips and strategy under the read more (now with more chip tips since i posted this the day before):

Low Hacks 8's Palette

Hacks (x3): 3 Lives total, Armor recovery 10 seconds, Risky Rewards (18 chips) Strategy: Focus on splash damage, splash radius, explosions, knockback, bombs, ect.

General tips:

Hard and rigorous levels are hard and rigorous. I died on a hard level my first time running 8s palette like a week or so ago and it was... humbling.

ALWAYS have an escape route. Ink the walls. Stay AWAY from corners. The walls of the level are okay but do NOT back yourself into a corner.

Get a bomb you WILL USE. My preferred bomb in the tower is burst bomb (takes little ink, good for inking right away), so I got that from a vending machine.

Splashdown special is good for both taking out enemies quickly and knocking enemies back. I recommend keeping it for the strat I used, unless using it is like your worst nightmare. Don't hinder yourself if that's the case, but it does work extremely well with this strategy.

Don't be afraid to run away from a hoard. Ink with tap shots if you must just to give yourself some ground, but don't be afraid to just book it.

While in the level, stay on the move. Don't take risks; take your time to do it safe and cautiously.

Keep an eye on your membux. It's 100 to skip 1-9, 500 to skip 11-19, 1000 to skip 21-29. I don't recommend skipping early levels unless the chips offered are bad.

Unless a chip you're hunting for/need for your run shows up, take the vending machine floors, even if you don't plan to buy anything.

Don't be afraid to give up and start over if the chips you've got from 1-9 aren't preferable to progress with.

Chip tips:

Knockback (purple chip) and Explosion Knockback (purple chip) are VERY HELPFUL. You want to keep enemies AWAY from you. Just one of either will be enough, two of either won't hurt but palette space is limited and you'll want other chips.

Working together with knockback, Lucky Bomb Drop (green) is also extremely helpful. Just one helped me a lot. Two was definitely worth it. I'd almost say this chip is required.

Working together with knockback and lucky bomb drop, Splash Radius (orange chip) affects bombs and popped portals. Try and get at least one, it'll help you with Smollusk.

Sticky Ink (purple chip)/Poison Ink (red chip) are both very good. One of each is good, but I don't recommend stocking up on them, unless you're having trouble hunting damage chips down. Stock up on whatever sticky and poison you can in that case.

For 8s palette, Main Damage (Close) (red chip) is much better than Main Damage (Distant) (red chip). I completely skipped the latter and did just fine with 3 main damage (close).

Try to get at least one Main Firing Speed (red chip), it'll save you a little bit of a headache and help damage enemies faster and ink turf faster. If you grab more than one, try to get any of the ink saver or ink recovery chips (purple chips)

Splash Damage (red chip) would have been helpful for me since I was focused on explosions for my run, but I didn't actually ever get any. However, if you're doing my strat, it definitely wouldn't hurt to nab a few of this chip.

Just one Main Ink Coverage (orange chip) will help you a lot, assuming you've got sticky/poison ink.

Give Pearl the Drone Splat Bomb (teal chip) so she can actually help you instead of floating around doing nothing. Don't worry about any other drone chips. Upgrading her bomb at least once won't hurt you, but it's not preferable.

Other chips that won't hurt you if you can't find the above chips:

Ink Damage (red chip) - actually not preferable for 8s palette, since it takes a large amount of them to actually show results. however, if it's the only damage chip you can find, get it

Special Charge Up (orange chip) - never hurts to stock up if you can't find damage chips

Hindrance Damage (orange chip) - if you've got more sticky ink and poison ink than other damage chips, this one will help you the most

Disc Piece Drop (green chip) - worth it to nab at least one

Canned Special Drop (green chip) - also worth it to nab at least one

Armor Drop (green chip) - definitely won't hurt to grab one if you need it

Splat Ink Recovery (purple chip) - always worth it

Ink Saver (Main) (purple chip) - extremely good for balancing against how fast your ink goes if you've got more than one main firing speed chip

Ink Saver (Sub) (purple chip) - SUPER HELPFUL if you're focusing on bombs

Ink-Recovery Rate - untold amounts of helpful

Mobile Ink Recovery (blue chip) - not preferable, but useful for a not so preferable run

Mobile Special Charge (blue chip) - same as above. this one doesn't hurt either

Squid Attack (blue chip) - only recommended if you're good at performing squid rolls

Main Piercing (orange chip) - not preferable, but useful

Ink Attack Size (orange chip) - not preferable, but useful

Kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing, but I wanted to solidify my eye-colour head-cannons for the Trios (plus Isa, Namine and Vanitas). Plus, I really do like drawing eyes. More words past the Keep reading;

This was mostly inspired my dog, Loki. Normally, he has really kind-of dull brown eyes, but when he’s in the light, they really shine a lovely ochre. 

And I had a neat lil’ thought: “What if Terra’s eyes were like that?” where, they’re kind of a deep earthy-brown, but when the light shines on them, they reveal a yellow colour, to remind himself (and others) that he was tied to the darkness for so long. I did this with every character who has ties to the darkness; Sora, Vanitas, riku, Aqua, Siax, Axel and Xion. all but Vanitas aren’t as extreme as Terra’s, though- just very subtle hints.

Everyone’s eyes- apart from Vanitas, Roxas, Terra and Isa’s have kept mostly to the same colour, although have different kinds of shades to them. Sora’s eyes are mostly the same, although I tried to make them more of a sky blue. Riku has a mixture of his post KH3 and Pre KH3 look, with the duller green being mostly in the shade and the bluer colour being highlighted in the light. Kairi’s got her original kind-of-purple going on, although I kept them more in the blue spectrum. Aqua’s are more purple-y than Kairi, because she looks really nice with them, as well as the shared purple-ness alluding to their master-and-apprentice connection. Isa’s eyes are a little different from OG material- they’re originally a similar shade of blue/green to Lea’s; so I made the difference more extreme, and made Isa’s ice blue, and Lea’s more green-hued. I also gave Isa eye-shine, because he looks neat with it. I’ve always imagined Xion having really deep blue eyes; like, if there’s no light on them, they’d just be black voids. With Namine, I just made her eyes super-blue; like incredibly sapphire blue. Ven and Terra’s new eye colours are fan-interpretations (and ones that I stand by). Vanitas’ is red from the novelisation (again, a colour that I stand by); and Roxas’ is my own personal headcannon- he’s got a teal-blue eyes, because he’s a mix of Ventus and Sora. Ven and Roxas’ hair is also my interpretation; Ven is blond and Roxas is strawberry-blond/ginger.

    Those had to have been memories, right? That girl that was smiling.. She looked familiar. And what in Copper-9 is a ‘[n u l l]’? N thought as he tried to grasp what the tape held inside of it. He grabbed the old tape and put it in his bag to keep for later. N swung around and started to walk out the door. He had gone out looking for Uzi when V was being dumb and scared her off. N almost got lost again in his thoughts when he heard a clattering noise above him. 

    N looked all around him, but saw nothing in the dark of the cabin. Probably just the wind, right..? N tried to convince himself. He turned back around to walk to the door when he felt a sharp pain in his side. He looked where something had stuck him. He looked at the hole in his body, a glowy red ooze was in it as it absorbed into the metal of his body. N scooped up some goo onto his finger and looked at it as it absorbed into his finger. N, then, felt extremely tired for some reason. He tried to stay balanced but failed from not being able to hold up his weight.

    Moments later, N passed out from something forcing him into his sleep mode. The last thing that N saw before he blacked out was a pair of green, red, and teal eyes looking down on him.

    “You sure he’s alive?” A voice called out, “I stuck him for a while” they finished talking as another voice rose from another part of the room. 

    “Ah! you barely gave him anything!” The voice protested, “And would you stop poking his ribs! That won’t wake him up any faster!” 

    “Ugh, C, sometimes you worry a bit too much.” A third voice said as they walked around the room.

    N was in darkness as his software was booting up from the shock before. Once his software was fully booted, his eyes slowly opened as he became fully aware of his surroundings. He was still in the cabin, just layed down on the floor and three different drones were looking down on him. 

    “Ello?” The red one said, “Are you alive??” They poked N in his ribs. The touch made N curl up on himself and made him giggle a little.

    “Yehes, I am.” N said as he sat up. Someone behind him put his camping hat on his head. N turned around to see a pale green worker drone standing right behind him, waving at him. 

    “Hey buddy” the Worker Drone said as she smiled mindlessly like V and J. A symbol flashed on her screen that looked like Uzi’s Solver symbol. Except that this drone's symbol was a circle with another thin circle surrounding it. It had three smooth teardrops coming out of the middle circle. And the teardrops ended with circles at the tips of them.

    “Wanna die?” They asked N as they stuck their tongue out.

    N and the drone stared at each other for a good while until..

    …

    …

    “AAAAAÆÆÆÆUUHH” N screamed as he jumped back, pulled out a gun, and started to open fire at the drone. The drone lifted their hand and activated their knock-off Solver to put up a shield to prevent the bullets from hitting them while the red drone scooted back, then ran and hid behind the teal one. N felt his arm get cut off from a blade as he fell backwards onto his butt whilst holding his severed arm. He turned his head to see a teal Disassembly Drone cut his arm off and grab it off the ground with swift movements. 

    “Ok dude! That’s enough from you!” The teal drone yelled at him. She had almost the same hairstyle as him, but her hair was more curly and their bangs swooped to the right and she had.. antenna.. with teal glowy balls on the end of them. She wore a beige shirt under a brown vest. She wore no pants like V but her metal was painted black like a swimsuit. Her legs and feet were like N’s but she had her painted black stockings like V as well (up her thighs). She wore beige leg warmers on her legs that went up below her knee. N saw that she had painted gloves on after she switched her sword for her hand. Her tail was around the same as N’s, except her compartment where her nanite acid was held was in a spherical container with what looked to be a beautiful curled gold claw blade (like heart nori’s claw/hands but metal) coming out of the top of it. 

    “Why don’t we get the introductions out of the way? We have a job and we don’t have all day.. night..? Or.. whatever.” The worker drone said as she sat on the ground in a criss-cross. The Worker wore a beige crop top like the teal disassembly with a darker brown vest on top of it. Her sleeves were folded up but went to her elbows and she had a pale green armband on her left arm that had a skull with a halo over it and the words ‘ANGELICPROTOCOL HOST’. She wore a black dress under her vest as well. She had black shoes, kinda like what N used to wear when he was with the humans in the mansion.. wait.. where did that come from..? He pushed the thought aside as he studied the worker again. She had beige socks that came up to her knees. She had dark brown hair that was pulled into a low messy bun but her two bangs were pulled out of it, one bigger than the other. Her bangs were swooped halfway over her left eye (Deedah here- like Nori cause she my fav) and curled back at the end. Her bun was wrapped with a white tilted bow in the back. “L, give the boy his arm back.” She told the teal drone.

    “Here.” She handed N his arm back but quickly pulled away once N got it back, “Don’t expect me to be nicer though, I’m watching you.” ‘L’ said as she leaned against a wall of the cabin. 

    “Yes, thank you L for the comment. Sit boy” The Worker Drone told N. When he didn’t sit in the first ten seconds, the drone forced him to sit using her knock-off Solver. But she was gentle.

    The worker turned around to the shadows where the red drone stood crossing her arms. Their red lights glowing in the dark. “Come on C, he won't bite.” The Worker said as she patted the ground. The red drone came out of the shadows and sat right beside the Worker. She had silver curtain bangs on both sides of her face and the same antenna like L, but the glowy balls were red. She had her hair pulled into a low ponytail with a green band and a black flower wrapping round her hair. She wore a brown tight dress like J, but it was lined with a lighter beige, like L’s leg warmers, at the end of her dress and at the collar. She had knee length painted stockings and her legs were stick legs. Her stinger was the spherical container like L’s and she had the workers knock-off Solver on her chest but red, it just wasn’t as visible. N also noticed they didn’t have the armbands like him and V, but they had cards on a necklace with their name and a picture of them on it, kinda like Uzi’s mom in pictures.

    C grabbed onto the workers shoulders and pulled them closer towards herself as she wrapped her tail around the two then pointed to N. “Keep your hands off her..” C quietly said to N.

    “D-don’t worry! I have no intent of hurting you” N said as he fixed his arm back on.

    “Then what was that little stunt you tried to do to Wren there?” L asked him as they leaned against the control panel where N found the Zombie Drones tape. 

    “Wren?” N asked L as he looked in a chair, he saw that the stranger drones had put his bag in the chair, and must have gone through it because it was open. He silently prayed that they didn't take out the tape. 

    “That’s me buddy” the worker raised her hand before she paused and started to giggle a little. N was confused for a second before he looked up and saw what made her laugh. C had laid their chin onto the top of Wren’s head and started to make purring noises while her antennas dropped onto Wren’s head. Wren patted C’s hair. “Yeah we get it ya’ big baby. You love attention” Wren said as she rubbed C. She looked at N in a funny way with her piercing green eyes. “So fellow Cyn follower, what’cha name?” Wren asked N. 

    “U-u-uh..” N tried to start. He was very confused by who this ‘Cyn’ was. “I’m sorry, I’m not sure I know who this ‘Cyn’ is, but my name's N! Nice to meet you!” He said as he smiled and did his signature salute. Wren, C, and L all looked at eachother like now they were confused. 

    “How do you not know who Cyn is?” C asked N. “You're definitely one of her murder pets, sooo, how?” C tried to comprehend.

    “It doesn't matter that he doesn't know Cyn,” Wren said as she took her hand off of C’s hair and waved it around, “it’s actually better that he doesn’t know her.” Wren told C as she turned back to N. “Listen, I know you're most likely confused about my ‘Solver’” Wren used air quotations on the word ‘Solver’, “Because it looks so different from your girlfriends.” (Btw N blushed a LOT after Wren said that) “its cause, I don’t have the AbsoluteSolver, I am actually one the first hosts of the AngelicProtocol.” Wren finished as she grabbed something random with her Protocol and floated it in between the four drones. She had grabbed a mug. N looked at it as it glitched out with green text boxes full of code surrounding it that he couldn’t understand.

    “And..?” N started as he was a bit confused. “What’s the difference?” He asked Wren.

    Wren rolled her eyes and went on. “It means I’m a portable Patch really. Ah bup bup” Wren silenced N as he tried to ask another question, “I will explain it. I can pretty much fix your girlfriend so she’s free from the Solver’s control and CYN. I know you don’t know who that is, but she will kill you the first shot she gets if she’s in control. Speaking of that.. I’m sensing that she’s out of control already. We better go and see if she’s alright.” 

    Wren stood up and so did C, still holding on by her tail on Wren’s arm, and all three of the strangers walked outside. N scrambled to get up and follow them.

    He quickly snatched his bag, threw it over his shoulder, and went outside. When he got outside, all three of the drones had their wings out. N pulled his wings out as well, even though he didn’t know what they were doing.

    L turned around and pointed to N as her and N’s feet slowly went through the cold, wet snow. “He should lead the way, he knows where the Solver host is.”

    N was about to object until he thought about a question that was continuing to knock around his head for a while.

    “How..” he started until he thought maybe not to ask it. The more he thought, the more he wanted to know. “How did you guys knock me out, anyway..?” He finally asked.

    When no one answered and just looked at each other awkwardly after a minute, L stepped up and told what had happened. “Me and C have a certain type of acid, even if it ain’t acid, that will force a drone into sleep mode for a while so they're easier to be.. taken care of, k?”

    Wren shrugged with an awkward smile. N also noticed that she had wings and a tail as well. She had some type of moth wings, most likely a Luna Moth (the moth wings bend like a SilkWings from WoF). He looked down to see she had a tail as well, it was like a dragon head that it had multiple green eyes and its ‘lips’ were very sharp as they pointed into teeth. (The tail acts like a Venus fly trap btw with sticky substance inside it) He looked at C’s wings to compare them and he saw that her wings were gold, and so were L’s. He didn’t even question it anymore.

     N desperately wanted to get back to Uzi and V. He felt a little scared and lonely without them. Ok he was very lonely, and scared, and his fight with V did not help at all. Though he didn’t take back what he said if V really wanted to hurt Uzi.

    “Ok so I’m confused about you and L” N said to C as he pointed to her and L. “You guys definitely aren't Disassembly Drones but your design is kinda close to ours.. So, what are you?”

    C looked at L who nodded then she looked back at N with her red eyes, “We are Teardown Drones. We were made by the humans at JcJenson with the inspiration of you guys, but different in.. ways..” C told him. 

    N looked atop her head to notice the antenna’s once more. He pointed to them, “and those?” He asked.

    C looked up and nodded a little. “Well, us Teardown drones aren’t given the AngelicPrototcol or the AbsoluteSolver. And these are for us to help find oil, but their mostly for the AngelicProtocol hosts. We aren’t allowed to kill workers like you, so we have to either find bins of oil, or natural oil.” C smiled as Wren walked up to the, and looked at C and smiled. “And since we don’t have a heart like any host, we have what we call a MTC, a Memory Transfer Chip. So if we were to damaged we could take the chip out and someone else could rebuild our body.. but once the chip is out, unless it’s plugged into another device, you will never remember the moments after that..” C looked at L with a desperate look.

    “Ready to find this other host?” L asked as they all crouched like they were about to take off.

    “Yeah..” N said. “Follow me, I’ll take you back to the camp..” He took off into the night sky as snow plastered against his cold body.

    N landed on the soft, cold snow as he heard cackling in the distance. He kinda hoped that was V laughing at something, even if it sounded like Uzi.

    “Girlfriends going berserk” Wren said as she walked up beside N. She patted his shoulder and gave him a soft smile, “I promise, I’ll try to fix her” Wren looked as if she was going to say more but then C grabbed her under her arms and lifted her off the ground and away from N. 

    C stuck her tongue out at N and said one, clear word, “Mine.”

    “C!” Wren said she kicked her legs like she was trying to run mid-air before she curled on herself, “I am not a cat! Put me down!” N laughed to himself as he saw C put Wren down. The two drones reminded N of him and Uzi when they goofed off in the past. He saw L walk up beside N, with her hands on her hips, on the other side of him and he immediately straightened out. 

    “How are we gonna calm her down so Wren can use her Patch?” L asked the others, mostly N.

    “Uhh, I can try and get close to her and talk to her, she’ll most likely listen to me” N stated as he felt hands start to push him.

    “Then let’s get a move on” Wren said as she pushed N more. Her hands were on his lower back until she stopped and walked beside N. C and L joined beside N and Wren as they started to run towards the cackling when they heard it once more. They had run a few feet before they heard a boom. They all jumped back from the explosion. N saw some drone went shooting in the sky as a bomb shot them up. They were waving their arms as their pink hollow eyes looked around for help, and they kinda looked like.. Lizzy..? 

    Oh noo.. N thought as he blurted, “You 3 stay behind, don’t let Uzi see you. I’m going to talk to her now.” N spread his wings, not waiting for an answer as he shot himself forward.

    He got to the spot where Uzi was fighting with another drone, N looked closer and he saw that the other drone was V.

    V!! OH ROBO-JESUS, N thought as he slung himself at Uzi. He collided with her right before she was about to stab V with her own tail stinger. N and Uzi rolled and landed on the soft snow. Uzi quickly recovered herself and pounced on N. She held his arms down as she growled in his face. Her visor had the AbsoluteSolver all over it. She even had a tail and wings..? And they looked organic, Yuck..

    “H-hey buddy!” N started, trying to give Wren time for the right moment. He glanced at V to make sure she was ok. V was getting up off the ground and getting ready to take a blow at Uzi.

    “V!” N yelled as he craned his neck to look at tall disassembly who just pulled a stick out her palm with her teeth. Uzi looked at V as well. “Don’t hurt Uzi! Let me handle this!”

    “You look like you're not handling it very well N!!” V said crossly to N, but she didn’t pounce on Uzi, thankfully.

    While Uzi was not paying attention to N, he swung his hands so Uzi’s hands would slip and let go of him. Uzi gave a small yelp as N grabbed Uzi’s arms, spun her around, and set her upright on his lap. He held both her arms with one hand and held both of her hands with his other hand so she couldn’t activate her Solver. 

    Uzi hissed at N and she threw her (very creepy) tail right into N’s face. It’s mouth wide open to hurt N in a second.

    N closed his eyes but held onto Uzi tightly. N heard a grunt from both Uzi and another drone. He opened his eyes to see V pinning Uzi’s flesh tail down onto the snow.

    “Hurry up and do what you need to do to snap her out of it, N!” V screamed at N as the mouth tail tried to throw V off it.

    N almost forgot about the three he left behind. “Wren! It’s time!!” N yelled as loud as he could. Uzi kept thrashing in his arms which made her harder to hold. 

    N looked ahead of Uzi to see a small figure walking, then running up, it was Wren! And she was holding some type of digital cross with with an open hand. 

    Wren jumped onto Uzi’s shoulders, lifted her wings and tail, raised her hand and digital cross in the sky, and dug her four fingers into Uzi’s visor. Uzi immediately stopped thrashing and went limp. Her wings and her tail went back inside her body and she looked like her normal self again, she just had a loading wheel and four deep holes in her visor. 

    Wren got off of Uzi and helped N put her on the soft snow below them. N held Uzi’s head and slowly started to cradle her like a baby (and he hoped no one would comment about him holding her). 

    N saw C and L come behind Wren and stood behind Wren to make sure everything was ok.     V stared at N and the other three drones with hollow eyes until she finally spoke, “wh- You have a lot of explaining to do, N..”

itoshi sae was your last bet. your parents had gone to spain to break the news to your relatives: you, their only daughter, is getting married. the last goal you’ve had in mind was to know what you’re going to do after the wedding. you’ll have a lot of free time because you were brought up to be a housewife (not that there’s anything wrong with it, it simply does not interest you), and you have tried everything there is that looks like fun.

if you were going to live like a boring, old maid, you should at least find a hobby or something you’re passionate about, right? but there was nothing. there’s nothing in this world that makes you feel like there are fireworks in your stomach. you’re simply not passionate.

you have tried baking. you have tried cooking. you have tried knitting. you have tried writing a book. you have tried playing a sport. you have tried hobbies that other people around you seem to like, and you were good at it! the problem was that it’s blah.

so, when itoshi sae turned out to be someone who’s passionless, you’ve lost all hopes that you’re going to do well with marriage. until you’ve chosen to devise a plan to get out of this arranged wedding once and for all.

“hm. what a shame.” you frown. “let me tell you a secret, then.”

to be honest, it wasn’t really your fault that it went viral. you simply saw a spark of opportunity when you spotted a photographer a few feet away from the both of you, and when you’re given a once in a lifetime chance like that, you grab it with all your might. you didn’t exactly expect that it’d turn out the way it did, but you’re not complaining.

the rumor spread around like wildfire that it even reached your parents from spain. that was your problem at hand.

secret lover? bullshit. you’ve only met itoshi sae once.

“okay.” your father relents. at this point, there’s guilt settling in the bottom of your gut. was it really okay for you to manipulate the people around you like this? was it really okay for you to trap itoshi sae in a situation that will only benefit you? maybe not. but anything’s better than living a dull life like yours.

and if this is what it takes to feel less empty, then you’ll take it.

“you’re off the hook. i’ll talk to the mikages.”

you nod and stood up to leave, for you were seemingly dismissed with what he said. before you could leave the room, however, you were stopped by your mom. she decided not to interrupt your strict conversation with your dad earlier, but now that you noticed her, she’s just sitting on the far end of the couch with a concerned look on her face.

“honey... before you run away, consider talking to us first, okay?”

“okay.” maybe.

right now, if anyone has seen what happened, they’d think you’re nothing but a spoiled rotten brat. but to be honest, this is the first time you’ve ever vocalized what you want. ‘i don’t want to marry’ is as simple as simple gets, but to you and your parents: it’s you merely voicing out what you wanted. to you and your parents: that’s something new.

your phone rung as you quietly went up the stairs. its sound bounced from wall to wall because of the room’s absence of noise. at first, you had thought that it’s itoshi sae’s manager once again, but quickly found out that it’s a random number.

you grinned.

“i knew you’d call.” you greeted itoshi sae. he hasn’t even introduced himself or said anything yet, but without doubt, you knew it was him. he’s the only logical option.

technically, you weren’t breaking the end of your deal. you simply stated that you’ll never contact him again, but to be fair, he contacted you. he’s the one to reach out, and you’re simply responding to it.

“this is all your ploy, isn’t it?”

you chuckle. “how’d you find that out?”

“because you said you always get what you want.”

“smart cookie. so then,” a pause. “why did you call?”

you had no idea why he agreed to what he once thought as idiocy (which is this fake dating situation), but if you were to guess: it’s easier to say that you have a relationship (albeit it being a sham) than explain what truly happened. what better reason is there when you find two people kissing in an empty field, right?

“you have no dating experience, have you?” you quietly mumble once over your shared dinner with him.

sitting right in front of you was none other than itoshi sae, clad in a black tuxedo that you’d never thought he’d wear. he always seemed to be the kind to wear whatever he wants, no matter what the occasion calls for. so, when he shows up at the restaurant you both agreed to meet, you were shocked with what greeted you.

there was no denying that he’s handsome, and that he smells good. exactly your weakness.

“what about it?”

“you always take me to boring dates.”

“this is your idea of fun?” he comments. “so mediocre.”

you rolled your eyes at him. it was a matter of preferences, to be honest. itoshi sae seemed to enjoy the silence of dinner dates more than the rowdy crowds of carnivals. and no mattter how much you tried to impress him the whole afternoon, your efforts turn out to be pointless.

cotton candy? too sweet and sticky for his taste. balloon pop? he’s too good at it that he finds it boring. ring toss? he’s too bad at it that he finds it frustrating. he’s exceptionally picky, which you’re not shocked about.

“okay, fine, i give up,” you sigh. “you’re difficult to please.”

“what’s that?” he gestures towards the ferris wheel. has he never got on one? that’s a first.

“we should go,” you state. “that’s the only thing that interested you today.”

thankfully, there weren’t a lot of people who wanted to get on the ferris wheel so it didn’t take long until the both of you are up and running. you were too tired to talk so you’ve spent the whole five minutes (maybe less) in complete silence. itoshi sae doesn’t say anything in the duration of your wait.

the sky turned to a cool shade of indigo by this time, and as your cabin slowly rises up to the top, the both of you are greeted by the tiny lights from different parts of the carnival. below were the microscopic stalls that you’ve had the chance of trying out, even when itoshi sae didn’t particularly like them all. he did like the mozzarella sticks, though.

“what’s the point of this all?” he questions after a moment of silence.

“of the date?”

“of everything.” he states seriously.

“i chose to fake date you simply because you won’t fall in love with me.” you answer. “that’s all there is to it.”

“so,” a pause. “how sure are you?”

“what?”

“how sure are you that i won’t fall in love?” he asked in the same nonchalant tone he always uses. his teal green eyes hold no significant emotion and as he rests his chin on his fist, you realize that it’s nothing but a question. there’s nothing to what he just said.

and yet, as the sky gets painted with the various colors of fireworks— something inside your stomach bubbles. it’s making you uneasy.

“you don’t even love your own sport.” you answer. “so, how are you supposed to love me?”

as promised, here are this au's designs for half of the stalwart generals of flower fruit mountain!

let's begin with the marshals!

info on them under the cut!

up first, Ma!

she's the youngest (and shortest) of the Stalwart Generals, and based off a lar gibbon. her main color is green (duh), and metals are always silver (because op loves color-coding stuff).

personality wise, i envision her as more of a playful type. she's funny and a little chaotic, and really popular amongst the island's youngsters. she tends to be pretty blunt at times and isn't afraid to speak her mind when the situation calls for it. usually, Ma's pretty quick to drop any pretenses of formality amongst her fellow generals — she sees her responsibility as huaguoshan's marshal less like a burden and more like being part of the King's extended family (which, let's be honest, it kind of is). she's rated a 6 out of 10 in mihou's uncle/aunt scale. only because she's a liiitle too loud for him

her weapon of choice is a shangshou dadao — basically, a real big sword. how does she wield it considering she's really short? she's got loooong arms. where does she store it? think something like Azure Lion's sword — it's got a magic pocket dimension of it's own. or something.

she's unlikely besties with Liu. sorry I don't make the rules.

next up, Liu!

he's like. the second tallest of the generals, and looks-wise, mostly based off on new gods: nezha reborn version of wukong — while some other elements, like the red marking on his face come from snow macaques. his main color is teal, and metals (except for his jian) are champagne gold.

personality wise, Liu is very stern and reserved. he's extremely serious about his "job" as marshal and scarily orderly in everything he does. he might seem a little cold or distant at first, but he would kill and die for anyone he cares about (which, somewhat unfortunately, includes the entirety of ffm's inhabitants in one way or another). pretty soft spoken, Liu literally cannot raise his voice past a certain volume — that doesn't stop him from being the biggest gossip around. and that puts him down as a solid 9 out of ten in mihou's uncle/aunt scale. he's absolutely aware of that fact and cherishes it, even if he could not care less at first.

Liu's weapon of choice is the Jian. another type of sword, that while not as flashy as Ma's, certainly does its job. everything about it is pretty traditional; he's even got a whole scabbard getup for it, a tassel for tying at the pommel, et cetera, et cetera.

anyway, that's about it for the marshalls! next are generals Beng and Ba. they very much are developed but there's no art ready yet D: keep an eye out for them, because they will be posted too...eventually!

Hi there! Thank you for sending this :) Absolutely, I'll provide some descriptions here. I'm working on putting together some visual references and character profiles, but those will take some time. (As for the anon situation, thank you for the heads up ♥)

To keep things simple and spoiler-free, these descriptions will be for their glamoured human forms only. (Except for Abby who forgets his glamour more often than not.)

This got long, so the rest is under the cut.

First off, here's a skin colour chart for them, though this may be subject to change as the artist and I work on their profiles:

Vicente

Height: 5'8" (172.72cm)

Build: Middle of the road, not particularly bulky or slim. The way he dresses makes him look softer than he actually is.

Features: Gentle features, soft and slightly rounded, eyes crinkle when he smiles genuinely

Hair: Black, extremely curly and falls just past his shoulders, often tied back

Eyes: Deep reddish-brown, upturned with thick eyelashes

Style: Cozy but classy, favours the colour red. He doesn't wear jeans but prefers khakis and slacks. His clothes are meticulously taken care of, he doesn't wear anything that hasn't been tailored, and his outfits are carefully picked out even when he isn't going anywhere. When he's performing with Thea, he dresses entirely differently. Much more casual "night out" sort of style, but nothing flashy. He wants to look nice, but not stand out. Tends toward masculine styles more often than not.

Abby

Height: 6'9" (205.7cm)

Build: Like someone who was already tall and lanky lost a fight with a taffy stretcher. When not wearing a glamour, his proportions don't look quite right. Ridiculously long legs and arms either way.

Features: A bit sharp, pointed chin, dimples when he grins, when unglamoured his features are as uncanny as his bodily proportions, left ear has as many piercings as can be physically fit onto one ear

Hair: Bright teal, long on one side and almost totally (and unevenly) sheared off on the other, constantly in disarray. Looks like someone got carried away with a set of scissors, maybe while blindfolded.

Eyes: When glamoured, both his eyes are a normal shade of light green. When unglamoured, the left eye is magenta and his right eye is lime green, both with slit pupils.

Style: Blinding. His entire wardrobe is exclusively eye-insultingly bright neon, and he makes no effort to coordinate colours. His sense of style is "colours make brain go brr" and that's all there is to it. Tries to fit as many colours as he can into any single outfit. Red is the exception, he won't ever wear red. No preference as far as the "gender" of clothing - if it's fun, then it's fun. That's all he cares about.

Marina

Height: 5'4" (162.5cm)

Build: Heavyset, looks very soft and squishy but it's all muscle underneath.

Features: Rounded, but distinctly lacking the sort of gentle quality that Vicente has, oval lip shape with heavy upper lip

Hair: Fuchsia undercut, the unshaven part is about the length of a pixie-cut, wavy but that's hard to see when it's so short

Eyes: Turquoise, eyelashes and eyebrows match pink hair, eyes are rounded and would typically be considered adorable, but there's a hardness to her gaze that neutralizes the effect entirely

Style: Would be punk if she had more patience for clothes. As it is, she can't stand them, she hates the feeling of fabric on her skin. She likes the look of leather and plaid but it would kill her to wear that sort of thing. Her clothes are mostly black and pink, with some blue mixed in. Doesn't own anything with full-length sleeves or full-length legs. Any rips or tears are repaired by safety-pins rather than thread just to be contrarian because Vicente once told her she should repair them properly. So, of course, she never will. The "gender" of clothing doesn't matter to her because it's all horrible. If she finds something tolerable to wear for a whole day then that's a big enough deal that the gender of it doesn't matter.

Thea

Height: 6'1" (185.4cm) (without heels) Build: Slender, might even be seen as delicate if you don't know her well enough to know better

Features: Angular with a refined air, a large, hooked nose, wears makeup when on the job but refrains when she's at home.

Hair: I wish blood orange wasn't a meme because that's really the most accurate way to describe her hair colour. If she were to straighten it out, it would fall just past her shoulders. As it is, she usually has it styled in waves or curls, or done up in 20s-inspired hairstyles. She'll try out hairstyles from other time periods, but since those don't spark the same joy for her and she can't wear them for work it's hard for her to motivate herself to expand her hair horizons

Eyes: Yellow. She literally can't put a glamour on them, for reasons that will be explored in the story. It isn't that big a deal, though. Coloured contacts are a thing, and the fact that she's a performer makes it easier to assume it's a sort of costume. Not to mention, humans get so overwhelmed by her very presence that they usually can't manage to question her eyes. She likes to wear small, feathered eyelash extensions.

Style: Classic and elegant styles, often 20s-inspired. When it comes to her work wardrobe she goes full-throttle old Hollywood glamour. For her personal life, though, she prefers day dresses and casual wear (still in that classic and elegant style though, even her casual outfits have a refined air about them.) She focuses on the fit and silhouette when she puts together outfits, and has a personal tailor. Exclusively presents femininely in the way she dresses.

Kaida

Height: 6'3" (190.5cm)

Build: Streamlined. Kind of like a swimmer's build, strong but built to be quick and aerodynamic.

Features: Sharp, brow is often furrowed, strong jawline, cheekbones could cut glass, whether he's capable of smiling is anyone's guess

Hair: Very, very long. Falls past his mid-back, perfectly straight and white. Somehow, it never gets messy or out of place. Almost like magic or something... But even so, he ties at least some of it back if it's getting in the way. His hairstyles (when he bothers styling it) are more elaborate than Vicente's, but simpler than Thea's

Eyes: Very, very dark brown, almost black, monolid, eyelashes and eyebrows match white hair

Style: He likes things that are long and flow-y at the hem. A long trench-coat, a cardigan that has a "tailcoat" sort of shape. He laments the fact that capes and cloaks fell out of fashion. The sleeves need to be fitted, though, otherwise they get in his way. As far as colour, he isn't very picky as long as it's nothing too bright and colourful. He has a preference for the colder shades of purple. Wears a lot of rings, necklaces, bracelets, but no piercings. I'm not sure what to call his overall style other than "modern warlock chic?"

Shiloh

I can't really get into Shiloh too much without spoilers, but I can tell you that their hair and eyes are always black. I can also talk about their style a little bit.

Style: Layers upon layers, as much of itself covered as possible. Always has the bottom half of its face buried behind a scarf. Clothes are all black and may not actually be clothes, but no one has been able to get Shiloh to clarify about that.

Corey and Oats Adventure Bios.

Main cast:

Corey: A red covid-19 microbe with yellow eyes and matching spikes, he is also sometimes called King Corey and he is a former villain/alien invader who is now a reformed character and one of the titular protagonists.

Aiyido: A beholder who is pink with one big purple eye and 10 eye-stalks, unlike how most of his species is portrayed, he is a kind beholder who wants to teach others. He loves reading and playing Dungeons and Dragons, he is a skilled dungeon master and he is also caring towards others. He has his own unusual language but also speaks English as well, and he always guards the house when Mel is away, he is extremely intelligent and loves learning about different topics including how to help people with eye-sight problems.

Oats: An anthropomorphic horse who has brown fur and a white muzzle and a black mane, he is male but is very much in touch with his feminine side, he loves all things pink and he loves hugs and cuddles and he loves to model in his pink dresses. His dream is to be a princess.

Melanie ‘Mel’ Sanders: An anthropomorphic female koala with brown hair who lives at Nile Road, she wears a dark blue top and jeans and is very much into horror movies and monsters, she is very protective of her friends and her family.

Matthias/Werebelushi: A recurring additional crew-member, he is part of a species which is a supernatural version of John Belushi, he is a reviewer/ranter who is known for his own special method of dealing with nonsense and bad media.

Eucalyptus: Mel’s best friend who is also a koala-girl, she has dark green hair and she wears dark green clothing and glasses, she is a socially awkward but adorable koala-girl who loves aquatic creatures especially fish, 80s horror and sci fi, Frank Herbert’s Dune (and its adaptations), the works of David Lynch, classic 80’s comedies, dark-synth/horror synth, horror magazines, plants, musical theater and a ton of other things. She has a tendency to be more than a little bit crazy and she has a lot of different hyperfixations and crushes, including characters played by Christopher Walken and Dan Aykroyd, and also Simon Cowell.

Axcel: An adventurous axolotl snackle who adores Reese’s cups.

Hayden: A socially awkward but caring female hippo snackle who loves Mintos and uses it to make her breath cool and minty fresh, she also loves the taste of it.

Louie: A goofy and fun-loving unicorn snackle who loves Fruit Loops, he is always very festive and upbeat even when something sad happens and he looks up to Oats like he is Oats’ very own child, he is the most beloved of all snackles.

Loli: A female elephant snackle who is very intelligent and sweet-natured, her favorite snack is Chupa Chups.

Pyranno: An orange dragon snackle, he is adventurous and feisty and also fiery, he loves Tobassco sauce and uses it to make his breath hotter and more effective.

The Deadie Bears:

Romero: A zombie deady bear who luckily doesn’t eat brains, actually he just stands around and looks funny most of the time but is actually quite nice and caring.

Lugosi: The leader of the deady bears, he is a debonair and regal vampire deady bear who is always getting lots of attention due to his charm and his irresistibly adorable appearance.

Lon: A Werebear deady bear who tends to act a bit crazier than normal at night but usually during the nights of the full moon or nights in general, he is considered dangerous but isn’t dangerous in actuality and is just playful and mischievous.

Boobert: A ghost deady bear who loves playing pranks and haunting people for fun, he doesn’t really scare them so hard unless they harm him or his friends.

Squishmallows:

Gabriel: A disabled horse squishmallow who always teaches others to follow their dreams.

Squivarius: A colossal squid squishmallow who is a gifted writer.

Lala-lotta: A glamorous stingray squishmallow who is a tan pink color with a white belly.

Herbert: A Cthulhu squishmallow who despite being an elder god, albeit a squishy version of an elder god, isn’t dangerous or evil or destructive, also he doesn’t drive anyone to insanity if they look at him, he is an avid reader and gets his name from the character Herbert West from the novel ‘Reanimator’. His favorite authors are Stephen King and HP Lovecraft. It is shown that when he talks, he speaks in a warm and caring manner.

Sheamus: A prankster squirrel squishmallow who is brown with a nut symbol on their body which is a tattoo.

Laluna: A female unicorn squishmallow who loves singing and loves music, she is often found singing along to her favorite songs and making music based magic spells.

i mentioned it in the tags, but coming up with typing/speaking quirks for decem was one of my favorite parts of this (and one of the most difficult), so under the cut is my thoughts on how they'd all speak if they were blasbeall gods, because not all of them had lines that allowed me to show it off.

The Warrior: Very basic for a god, his text is in red with a faint, brighter outline and in all caps. I think their helmet also floats ala the Monitor.

The Seer: Also very basic, and very similar to the Warrior. All caps, orange text with a faint echo/outline. The Seer's eye is stagnant, except for when it occasionally blinks.

The Historian: Much more formal than the last two. Correct grammar and punctuation always. Yellow text, almost the same color as the coin, with no echo/outline. The pillar that the Historian's book is on does not float, but the book itself does.

The Merchant: Similarly formal to the Historian, but any sort of first person plural pronouns (we/our/etc.) are capitalized. Green text that I wanted to make glow, but I couldn't figure out how to do that in Medibang. The coin the hand is flipping spins as well.

The Senator: Also quite formal, but the Senator's sentences are much longer than anyone else's. They fit way more words into one screen than is normal for a god. Blue/teal text, which floats gently itself. The scales remain stagnant unless the Senator is very happy or very angry and using the scales as a rhetorical device to showcase said feelings.

The Architect: Not sure how he would've talked before getting grabbed, but now he talks in all caps, and quite glitchy caps at that. The Architect would've been an accessibility and flashing lights nightmare anytime he showed up on the website. Cycles through only a few sentences, doesn't really seem to have a mind of his own (anymore). If I had made him a god spot, his icon would've been a hand reaching towards the viewer.

The Philosopher: All of the Philosopher's words are in italics and a lightly glowing purple. They use proper grammar and capitalization. The sundial is also lightly floating.

The Noble: Similar to the Philosopher, the Noble's words are properly capitalized and in italics. However, just like the Merchant, she also capitalizes her first person plural pronouns, with that being the only deviation from proper grammar and capitalization. The laurels float lightly, and the glow behind their words flickers lightly.

The Scientist: We are back to all caps! The Scientist is very enthusiastic in that way. The grey text is also in all italics, and I can't really think of another way to emphasize the first person plural pronouns (maybe it's in a different color?) but I know that they definitely emphasize them somehow. The middle circle of the Scientist's symbol also spins.

The Wizard: The Wizard and the Scientist have extremely similar typing quirks, which I feel would make the Wizard mad and I think that's funny. The Wizard also speaks in all caps italics, and I wasn't able to figure out how to do this in Medibang, but I think that the Wizard's text color isn't actually white. I think it's black, and you have to highlight all of their text if you want to actually read it, because the Wizard sucks. Also the spell looking thing twirls in on itself.

Decem: Decem is another accessibility nightmare. They have no clear pattern to when they appear, sometimes appearing at normal times (before elections, for example) and sometimes appearing in the middle of games, overriding the website and hiding the events of the games from view. Decem speaks in all caps and italics, with the base text color being white, but each letter glitching in between being the same color as any member of Decem (except the dark blue of the Architect).

i originally wanted to make a weird/glitchy one for legs with "the only way out is through" being the text but couldn't figure out a symbol to use for him, so this will have to do.

Neopet review: the Zafara! Last in the alphabet of neopets, but certainly not last on how cool they are!

I always enjoy a good abstract creature that's still a believable animal, so unsurprisingly, I like Zafaras a lot. They've got a really unique body shape amongst Neopets that's vaguely like a kangaroo, but that's where the similarities stop. I really like the feathery structure to their tails, their long ears, and that random set of spines they have along their back.

Visually, my only nitpick is that I'm not a big fan of the base color's palettes—most PB colors fix this, but the base colors have a weird mix of beige, pink, blue and black going on with their accents and none of it goes together. I feel like the back spines should've been black along with the nose, or the spots should've been beige instead or black, etc etc.

I'd argue Zafaras mostly benefited from customization as their old art was getting very dated by the time the conversion happened, and they likely would've received a redraw even if customization didn't become a thing. Plus a lot of the updates look really good, such as the tail tip shape being improved, fluff being added to the chest so they don't have a weird shape jutting out there, the feet being lengthened, etc. The only downgrade are the fists, and that's just a standard thing for customization.

My only other minor nitpick is that old Zafara eyes were almost pitch black and it gave them what I can best describe as a sopping wet meow meow vibe that gets lost nowadays. Even when they had color in their eyes, it was more of a crescent shape and overall cuter. Granted, though, the new eyes are more in line with other Neopets, so I get the change.

Favorite Colours:

Christmas: While most Christmas pets are just the standard reds and greens, the Christmas Zafara goes in a completely different direction by being an angel with a very pretty white and yellow color palette and a nice get of wings. It's super simple but very pretty. I also like how they fixed the color balancing that I mentioned above by changing the ear spots to yellow and making the tail tip match. (I do kind of wish the nose were black or something, but that's an extreme nitpick.)

Maraquan: I am 100% cheating by including this one because I usually try to stick to only pet colors you can obtain in the present day, but with UC styles becoming a thing I'm hopeful we'll be getting the old design back one day.

Because yeah, I absolutely love the pre-customization design; making it a sort of sea horse/leafy seadragon cross works perfectly with the Zafara's body shape, the pose is lively, and I love the bright pink fin accents to contrast with the teal body striping.

(The converted is... okay, but the concept was completely lost by changing the pose, the striping was reduced too much, and the body has this bizzaro lumpy shape instead of being a smooth curve like it should be.)

Water: Technically speaking this isn't too fancy, but I just think they did such a nice job with this one. There's so much gorgeous detail in the shading along the head and tail splashes, and the artist really did a good job at capturing that watery look. The choice to make the head tuft and tail splashes in the first place was a great choice, and I especially love how the ear spots are water bubbles. Super pretty all around.

BONUS: I really like burlap pets and think it's an underrated color, so I figured I should give the burlap Zafara a shoutout for being one of the best burlaps out there. The colors are kept muted, the uncanny valley vibe is present, the way they handled the fur tufts looks great, and I like the various slate blue patches on the body, which match with the back spines, spots, and eyes.

My take on half-troll Toby and Claire. Notes below the cut:

So I’ve done these characters as full trolls before, but making them half-trolls is actually a little more difficult--for full trolls we have lots and lots of canon variety to reference, but Jim is the only known half-troll, which means we have to determine which of his features are general half-troll traits and which ones are unique to him as an individual. After carefully comparing his half-troll design with his human design as well as general troll designs, here are my conclusions, along with some general headcanons and notes about the characters:

-Pointed “elf” ears are universal among half-trolls, as they are a mix between human ears and trolls’ lamb-like ears*.

-Like full trolls, half-trolls can either be hornless or grow horns of any shape. However, I am adding a headcanon limit that while full trolls may have multiple sets of horns (like how Arrrggh and Blinky each have two), half-trolls can only have up to one.

-While both troll sexes seem to be able to grow scruffs, facial hair** still appears to be a male-only trait as it is with humans. As such, the rule carries over to half-trolls as well (so Claire gets some neck scruff but no sideburns like the boys).

-Half-trolls have a slight underbite to accommodate their tusks, but it doesn’t get as extreme on them as it can in full trolls.

-Half-trolls take on trollish skintones (Toby’s still looks pretty humanish in the drawing but it is meant to be yellower...hard to tell without context. It would be more obvious with proper texturing and such. ^^”)

-While they are a fair bit taller than the average human, half-trolls still retain very human-like proportions and never have “extra” limbs and the like (so wings, double arms, tails, more than 2 eyes, etc.)

-They are still smaller than the average troll.

-Half-troll noses have a very flat profile like those of a full troll, but the nostrils are still located at the bottom like a human, with a color and texture consistent with the rest of their face. Half-troll noses also tend to be a fair bit broader than those of their human counterparts, and may sit slightly further up on the face. The exact shape of the nose still varies by individual.

-Half-trolls have human eyes.

-Half-trolls cannot be carved; if the tattoo troll took a chisel to a half-troll, they’d just bleed a lot. The resulting scars would have a similar visual effect to trollish carvings, but the process would be incredibly messy, unpleasant, and generally just not worth it.

-Half-trolls don’t have as broad a range of hair colors as full trolls (so you’d never see one with Arrrggh’s green or Blinky’s teal unless it was dyed), but they can be a slightly more colorful/saturated than those of their human counterparts: Jim’s black saturates to (very dark) blue, Claire’s dark brown saturates to maroon, and Toby’s auburn saturates to true red.

-Because Jim shares a similar hairstyle and horn shape to Blinky, I thought it would be fun if the others had some similar features to important trolls in their lives as well. Toby has short, straight horns and a fluffy mane (albeit not fully grown in yet) like Arrrggh, while Claire is hornless with a scruff that trails part-way down her back like NotEnrique.

-If you look closely, Jim’s general face shape actually stayed remarkably similar when he became half-troll (it looks a little thinner but part of that is the dark floof cutting into the sides), so I did the same with the others.

* “But Strickler has elf ears and he’s a full troll--” yeah yeah, Strickler’s kinda an anomaly with pretty much every trait so for generalization purposes we’re just gonna exclude him

** Come to think of it, while beards seem relatively common among trolls, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one with a mustache lol. Headcanon therefore that trollish facial hair does not extend beyond the chin.
