I guess every holiday, quasi- or otherwise, gets commercialized eventually, but I still feel weirdly bummed about getting inundated with Galentine's Day marketing emails.

It was supposed to just be a chance to show the women in your life that you love and support them in a way that has nothing to do with romance. In a world where women are often boiled down to their worth in a relationship... idk, it felt nice. I know it was just a silly holiday from a tv show, but I liked it.

Now I'm getting marketing emails telling me to buy myself random bullshit for Galentine's Day and it's just like. sigh.

I guess even a silly holiday invented by a sitcom will become completely commercialized if corporations are given half a chance. They saw a chance to advertise to single people during VDay week and they were happy to jump on it. :(

I finally took the time to photograph my vintage dip pen nib collection, and I need to share with you all how wonderful and diverse their designs are.

These two are my favorite. Just look at them! One of them is named Gorille and the other Mephisto, but to me they're little pumpkins.

And of course you gotta love the Pinocchio nib. You get to write with the nose of a tiny guy! Just not something you get to do anymore.

#I collect them because they come in fun shapes but they're also incredibly nice to use #all the ones I own write impressively smoothly #even the most flexible and fine pointed nibs #I have a ton of modern nibs as well (like a lot) and smoothness plus flexibility is not a common trait combo #good object #dip pens

#fionna and cake spoilers #what hits me a little is how similar fionna and simon's stories are in the case of finding nuance in their lives #when both have gone through their separate but still valid pain no matter the extent it had been #and its that they met each other they get to see how it compares and they're no less worth of the peace and fun they dreamed of #even in the form of simplicity and just being normal #“i wouldn't have met THE fionna and cake” “we wouldn't have met THE simon petrikov”#it hits me harder that after the dandelion scene would've been their last time seeing each other physically #and how assuring simon sounded when fionna didn't know what to do with the literal world in her hands #tho im sure prismo isnt that much of a rule jerk lol i still drew out the revelation anyway with this tiniest addition #also the fact fionna's world is influenced by simon's thought processes and conditions so now things are a little better for both of them #fionna the human #fionna campbell #simon petrikov #qiiarts #the lil flashback of #betty grof #fionna and cake #adventure time

im not particularly religious but i think it’s very cute that Trans Day of Visibility and Easter are on the same day this year :)

its no question that something like this could be triggering or upsetting to a number of queer ppl given the current sociopolitical climate, so i want everyone to remember that u are loved!
