the setting with twist & the (non-sirenian) harpies is one i don't write in and doesn't really have much of a big story, similar to siren it has a bunch of small unrelated stories in various parts of the world but the major theme is cooperative relationships between regular humans and monsters. they have a common goal but also i wanted to explore different ways that cooperation could happen (willingly or not) and the various manifestations of human and monster relationships. sometimes antagonistic sometimes not. cuinn the harpy willingly chose to protect a human village; twist was trapped and forced to work. i've already drawn the work they do but i'll talk about it laterrr here's one of the harpy falconers anyway

this has probably been mentioned already but. the fact that percy's flossing which is a 2016-onwards thing. compared to the books being written and set in the noughties. there's something so surreal about the passing of time. the fact that he was just a kid and all that that entailed at the time, intended to be relatable for the young audience of the time, and now it's been adapted for today's young audience so the relatability aspect has been recreated but that involves these subtle differences. the fact that both these iterations, set almost two decades apart, are still the same person. and the at the core of his creation as a character was the need to make kids feel validated and seen. meaning these changes will happen in every adaptation but through it all it's still the same percy we know and love. idk if this makes sense but i'm feeling things about this three-second shot of a kid flossing at the highest point he can reach to pass the time because why the hell not. because he's just a kid.

One thing that I always thought while creating divine beast muses is that they're designated to be characters who are pure of heart and generally free of vices, which makes them supposed to be rather incomprehensible to human nature ( in a way, it makes it difficult for them to truly connect with mortals ). They are not Bodhisattvas but their nature makes it feel like they are not very off from said mortals who have achieved enlightenment, except that they're not mortals?
