itaru and tsuzuru are the chronic desk sitters of mankai huh……. yeah you already know where this is going
tsuzuru likes kneeling under itaru’s desk to keep his cock warm in his mouth. the weight on his tongue and the muffled clacking of keys above relaxes him and as a bonus he gets to lay his head on itaru’s pillowy thighs. he’s always wanted to try taking itaru while he’s soft so he can feel him grow hard in his mouth but unfortunately itaru’s been pavloved to pop a boner fast as hell when he sees tsuzuru scamper under his desk
meanwhile itaru prefers cockwarming on tsuzuru’s lap while he’s writing a script so he can feel his arms around his waist and his chest heaving against his back. he especially likes to clench on purpose and watch tsuzuru’s fingers hit the wrong keys— it’s like a game to see how many typos he can bait tsuzuru into making until he gets so frustrated he fucks itaru over the desk. lot to think about
#it rhymes with dock farming#im so embarrassed if you see this no you don’t#tsuzuru doesn’t think itaru notices but when he’s losing in a game he ruts his hips forward in frustration

Daylight savings time more'n minute effect on me
In 2024, daylight savings time will begin at two o'clock ante meridiem on Sunday, March tenth. That will mean losing an hour of precious sleep and moving the clocks (around your house, and sundry frequented places) forward one hour, though your cell phone, computer, and television plus other electronic devices will likely automatically adjust. The sun will appear to rise and set an hour later.
Father time evinces spectacular robustness despite weathering setback of countless finagling representation viz Chronos (/ˈkroʊnɒs, -oʊs/; Greek: Χρόνος, [kʰrónos], "time"), also spelled Khronos or Chronus, is a personification of time in pre-Socratic philosophy and later literature. Ooooh 12 or 21 for the prompts? Wizards of course 💜
Both? Both? Both. Both is good.
12. Humming a melody together
21. Cuddling in the early morning light
Send me prompts?
One habit Caleb was never able to fully break himself of was waking before dawn. His father had trained him to rise with the first pre-light of dawn to start on chores around the farm. If ever he wanted to sleep in, he could do so only until the first proper rays of sunlight would peek through the window. He'd call himself a morning person, except that the habit was a source of pure frustration when he thought about it too hard.
At the instinctual knowledge that the first light had arrived, Caleb, without opening his eyes, rolled over from where he had sprawled in his sleep with a grumble, searching for the other warmth in the bed to cuddle into. There wasn't long to search. Essek was currently curled up with his back to Caleb, and let out a pleased hum when Caleb buried his face in the soft skin between his shoulder blades. When he went to wrap his arm around Essek’s waist, he instead encountered a ball of soft fur.
"I see we have a visitor this morning." The observation was punctuated with a sleepy kiss to Essek’s spine.
"He was demanding attention, and broke my trance in the process. I decided it was easier to let him in."
"Hmph, rude kitten." Still refusing to open his eyes, by touch alone Caleb found the soft short fur of the cat's head and scratched between its ears. The purr, which had been very quiet when he'd first woke up, kicked into its loud, saw blade rasp.
In short order, Caleb had fit himself more snugly against how Essek had curled himself around the cat. He nudged the side of Essek's neck that was pressed against the pillow, and Essek lifted his head so Caleb could slide his arm under. The shifting moved his face to now be closer to the back of Essek's neck and he pressed another kiss to the hollow at the base of Essek's skull, the undercut hair prickling pleasantly against his lips.
They laid in such a manner for nearly an hour, cuddled together and both drifting pleasantly as the early morning light strengthened to morning proper. Occasionally one would drop a kiss to the other, Caleb to the back of Essek's neck and Essek to Caleb's inner elbow or bicep.
Finally, Caleb's arm had begun to fall asleep, Essek’s stomach had grumbled too many times, and the cat had grown bored and decided he was hungry. The pair of wizards got up and dressed, and began their weekend routine.
It was as they were cooking breakfast that Caleb noticed Essek humming to himself. It was slower than the typical jaunty tune, but he recognized the melody as a favorite of Jester and Kingsley's.
Kind friends and companions, come join me in rhyme
Come lift up your voices in chorus with mine
Come lift up your voices all grief to refrain
For we may or might never all meet here again
Caleb picked it up, humming quietly along with him.
And here's a health to the company, and one to my lass
Let us drink and be merry all out of one glass
Let us drink and be merry all grief to refrain
For we may or might never all meet here again
With the ease of having sung this a great many times on the Nein Heroes as a farewell to the crew, they both stomped lightly at the end of the line mid their own tasks.
Our ship lies at harbor, she's ready to dock
I wish her safe landing, without any shock
And if ever we meet again, by land or by sea
I will always remember your kindness to me
It was at that point, Caleb reaching past Essek’s shoulder to grab tea out of the cabinet, he saw the moment Essek noticed his humming along. He only quirked a smile, and they continued.
And here's a health to the company and one to my lass
Let us drink and be merry all out of one glass
Let us drink and be merry all grief to refrain
For we may or might never all meet here again
My footsteps may falter my wit it might fail
My course may be challenged by Cuersaar gale
And if fortune shall prove to be friend or be foe
You will always be with me wherever I go
They sat down to eat. It was only when they were both done that Caleb commented, "You like that song a lot."
And here's a health to the company and one to my lass
Let us drink and be merry all out of one glass
Let us drink and be merry all grief to refrain
For we may or might never all meet here again
Essek smiled with fond remembrance. "I do. It's a nice sentiment, and it's pleasant when everyone sings it at the end of the journey. And it makes me think of all of the Nein often."
Caleb grinned. "What, it's that one and not The Wild Rover?"
Essek knew what was coming next. He rolled his eyes with fondness and groaned, "Caleb, no-" but Caleb had already swept him into his arms in a nonsensical dance and begun to sing with great exaggeration and aplomb.
"Caleb, stop!"
I've been a wild rover for many's the year
And I've spent all me money on whisky and beer
But now I'm returning with gold in great store
And I never will play the wild rover no more!
With the last line, Caleb spun Essek all the way into his seat.
And it's no! Nay! Never!
No, nay, never, no more
Will I play the wild rover
No never! No more!
Essek collapsed into the chair with laughter. "You're an absolutely ridiculous man."
Caleb simply grinned and kissed the top of his head.

806.
1. Humpty Dumpty: Have you ever felt so broken that you didn’t feel like you could be put back together again? >> Absolutely. And oddly enough, I’m still here, and probably not quite as broken as I imagined myself to be. Brains aren’t nearly as good at predicting the future as they think they are.
2. Jack and Jill: Have you ever tumbled/rolled down a grassy hill? >> Yes. It’s great fun.
3. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star: Do you enjoy stargazing? Has anyone ever gotten a star named for you? >> It’s not something I really go out and do, but I do love me some stars. I’ve not had the star-naming happen, though.
4. Little Bo Peep: Have you ever thought you lost something that was actually right in front of you the whole time? >> Yeah, that tends to happen when I get used to putting something in a certain place and then I unthinkingly put it somewhere else one day and fuck myself up.
5. Itsy Bitsy Spider: What do you typically do on a rainy day? >> Nothing different, usually. If it rains in the morning it might change whether I go out for a walk or not, but otherwise my daily activities remain the same.
6. Baa Baa Black Sheep: Do you own any clothing made out of wool? >> I don’t think so.
7. Ring Around the Rosie: Did you know that this childhood song/nursery rhyme is actually about The Black Death? >> I’ve heard that.
8. Five Little Ducks: Have you ever gotten lost before? >> Yeah.
9. I’m a Little Teapot: What is your favorite flavor/type of tea to drink? >> I like herbal teas, particularly ginger and mint. I also like vanilla chai and the occasional fruit variety.
10. Hokey Pokey: How were you taught to understand the difference between your left and right sides? >> I don’t remember how I was taught this.
11. Old MacDonald Had a Farm: What is your favorite farm animal? >> Sheep and goats are adorable. But so are cows, especially those fluffy ones... Regardless of their cuteness, though, I couldn’t be around any farm animal for long because the smell would slowly kill me.
12. Make up your own lyric for “Down By The Bay”. >> Ha, I used to sing this song to myself repeatedly for like hours when I was a kid. I’d rather not make up my own lyric for it now, though.
13. Little Miss Muffet: Would you be terrified if a spider sat down beside you? >> Nah. I am also a spider. I like visiting with my kin.
14. Rockabye Baby: Do you feel that this is a more calming or terrifying lullaby for children? >> I just think it’s funny, because like... yeah. Why the fuck is the baby in the tree, lmao. Nursery rhymes are wild.
15. Hickory Dickory Dock: What are you usually doing when the clock strikes 1? >> AM or PM? If PM, I’m probably gaming or something. If AM, I’m asleep.
16. Pat-a-Cake: What’s your favorite thing to bake/baked good to eat? >> I don’t bake, and I have no idea what my favourite baked good would be... a good bread, I guess??
17. Why do we stomp our feet if we’re “Happy and We Know It”? Shouldn’t we be doing this when we’re angry instead? >> Eh, I guess you could do it for almost any emotion if you put your mind to it.
18. The Wheels on the Bus: Where’s the furthest you’ve ever gone on a bus before? >> From Colorado to NYC. On two different occasions. Definitely not an experience I’d ever care to repeat.
19. Row, Row, Row Your Boat: Do you enjoy boating? (ie: cruises, kayaking, canoeing, white water rafting, etc) >> I’ve never been boating. I’ve been on ferries? Oh, and once I went to a concert on a boat. That was fun.
20. 3 Blind Mice: Do you know someone who is blind? >> No.
21. 3 Little Kittens: Do you prefer gloves or mittens when getting dressed for chilly weather? >> Gloves, if I must.
22. Jack Be Nimble: Do you enjoy lighting scented candles? >> I mean, sometimes, I guess. I burn incense most often, though.
23. Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear: Have you ever made a teddy bear or any other sort of stuffed animal at Build-a-Bear? If not, do you still have a favorite teddy bear/stuffed animal from your childhood? >> Yeah! I have a dog named Reese from there, I love him. Sparrow has an owl, a Pikachu, and a Squirtle, hah.
24. 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed: Have you ever cracked your head open before and needed stitches? >> Nope. I’ve definitely tried to crack my head open, lmao, but I wasn’t any good at it. (Thankfully.)
25. Hey Diddle Diddle: The cat plays a fiddle. What instrument would you like to play? >> Meh. I like singing.
26. Mary Had a Little Lamb: Have you ever brought a pet to school for show and tell before? >> No. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced show-and-tell, actually. I thought it was made up for like movies and shit, lol.
27. Once I Caught a Fish Alive: If you go fishing, do you release the fish afterwards, or do you take them home and cook them? >> I don’t go fishing, but if I did, it wouldn’t be just for the sake of it. I’d prefer to eat the fish afterward.
28. Little Jack Horner: What is your favorite flavor of pie? >> Hmm... sweet potato. Also, apple.
29. Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary: Do you have a garden? What do you plant in it? >> No, we just have a fuckload of potted plants because Sparrow likes them.
30. Miss Mary Mack: Do you wear clothing with a lot of buttons? >> No.
31. Old Mother Hubbard: What is your favorite food to keep in your cupboard? >> Er, I don’t know.
32. There Was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe: Do you have a lot of siblings growing up? Did you enjoy it? Why or why not? >> I was raised as an only child.
33. This Little Piggy: Do you like roast beef? >> No.
34. Rain, Rain Go Away: Have you ever played outside in the rain before? >> I mean, probably.
35. It’s Raining, It’s Pouring: Do you know someone who snores very loudly? >> Not anymore. My father was notorious for this.
36. Star Light, Star Bright: Do you ever wish on stars? Has one of your wishes actually come true before? >> No.
37. Here is the Beehive: Are you allergic to bees? Do you know anyone who is? Do you enjoy eating honey? >> I don’t know, I’ve never been stung by one. I don’t remember if I know anyone who is allergic. I love eating honey.
38. If All the Raindrops Were Lemon Drops and Gumdrops: What food would you want to rain down from the sky: >> I definitely would not want food to rain down from the sky, lmao.
39. Little Boy Blue: Have you ever slept anywhere other than a bed before? Where? >> Yeah. Tiled floors, subway cars, subway platforms, the sidewalk, couches, parks...
40. Do You Know the Muffin Man?: What is your favorite type of muffin to eat? >> I haven’t had a muffin in ages. I’m pretty sure I just don’t care for them.
41. Wee Willie Winkie: Have you ever sleepwalked before? >> No. Lmao, can you imagine being a sleepwalker while sleeping on the streets? That’d be fucked up...
42. B-I-N-G-O: If you had a dog, what would you name it? >> I don’t know, it would depend on the dog.
43. Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?: Has your pet ever run away from home before? Did it get returned? >> That apparently happened when I was a preteen. We didn’t even have the dog for a full month before he somehow escaped.
44. How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?: What’s the most you would spend when adopting a dog? >> I don’t know, man. I’m not even sure what the going rates are.
45. This Old Man: Do you own any knick-knacks? >> I guess I have a few.
46. 1, 2, Buckle My Shoe: When did you learn to tie your own sneakers? >> I have no idea.
47. Are You Sleeping?: What time do you typically go to bed at night? >> Between 10p and 12a. [a-zebra-is-a-striped-horse]

Ghost in the Cell
Sensations came back to Vadim slowly: The cold scrape of concrete beneath him. The rough sounds of his ragged breaths that seemed to echo in his ears. Pain. Sharp, throbbing, overwhelming pain that almost made him cry out in the darkness.
The darkness. That was the worst part. Vadim didn’t know where he was or how long he’d been there. He didn’t know if his captors were in the room, watching him.
Behind the scratching cloth of the blindfold, he turned his head in search of prying eyes, but found nothing. There was only darkness, concrete, breath, and pain indescribable.
Vadim’s hands and ankles were bound, the zip ties cutting into his naked skin. Presumably they were they to keep him from escaping the impounding darkness, but Vadim knew it didn’t matter. He’d tried to fight back when they took him. That was a mistake. There were too many of them and it wasn’t as if he was a trained fighter.
They took out his hands with one of their boots, smashing it between rubber sole and jagged gravel. He heard at least one of his fingers break with a snap, drawing a ragged cry from his throat that was soon silenced. His legs were swept out from under him with a vicious kick, but they didn’t stop there. Something hard and blunt smashed down on his knee. A billy club maybe? His captors laughed as he screamed and his leg exploded in pain. Vadim knew it wouldn’t hold weight now.
His ribs ached from blows and steel-toed boots. He remembered that ground vividly. Paved with gravel beside a chain-linked fence, it marked off a section of town far from his accounting firm. Vadim knew he should never have gone there. The job offer was shady as hell. Still, he needed the money. Student loans pressed their heel into his neck while his bronchitis made it hard for him to breathe. Vadim had already skipped going to the doctor, skipped buying drugs that would ease the coughing ache in his chest to try to make rent, but it wasn’t enough.
Vadim knew better than to aim for empty promises and fool’s gold, but when the offer came for a money man near the docks that would pay him just enough to eat for a few weeks, he couldn’t turn it down. He imagined eating something other than peanut butter and rice, drinking something other than tinny tap water, and his mouth watered all the way over to the darkened neighborhood where it all went wrong.
Now he was in a room, a basement? somewhere waiting for more pain to come.
Behind the blindfold, Vadim shivered. He’d never wanted to see the sun again so badly in his life.
Days passed.
His aching body growing stiff, Vadim finally drew up enough courage to move. He crawled with his elbows, feeling his ribs scrape against the concrete. He wondered what kind of blood trail he left behind.
Finally, he found a joint where floor met wall and propped himself up. His head swam, but it was better than lying where anyone could thrash his prone body. Vadim tried to muster up some measure of hope, but the darkness seemed to damped that feeling as much as it amplified the pain. He gave into it, letting his head fall forward and his neck go slack.
Vadim awoke to a screeching noise, then footsteps. Someone made their way towards him and he couldn’t stifle his instinctive wince. Instead of pain, however, the footsteps brought water. It wasn’t much; the stream squirted into Vadim’s mouth through a sport’s bottle of sorts was only enough to keep him alive, but Vadim thanked the gods for it. Then something hard and dry was stuffed into Vadim’s mouth. He chewed instinctively, not caring what it tasted like. He knew nutrition was hard enough to find.
The footsteps retreated. The door, Vadim supposed, screeched open and shut again. Vadim’s stomach clenched painfully around the first food he’d had in gods knew how long. Then silence. Abject silence. Behind the blindfold, Vadim felt more alone than ever.
He wasn’t sure when he started to hear noises. At first, Vadim thought they were real: There was a repeated rustle over to his left that could have been a mouse. A fizzing above him could be static from a fluorescent light. Then the whispers started. Vadim thought he heard his nephew calling out after a nightmare, thought he could hear his baby sister comforting the boy. He thought he could hear high heels clacking on a crowded street and the quiet murmur of a stranger’s friendly conversation. Mostly the voices came all at once, tripping over themselves as they assaulted him. Then one voice came out from the rest.
“Hello?”
It was soft, tentative, almost lilting. Still, it made Vadim jump.
While the other voices seemed far away, this one felt like it was in the room.
“Hello? Is anyone there?”
Vadim didn’t answer. The voice went away and the whispers came back.
When the voice appeared again, Vadim thought he was dreaming. His belly ached like it was eating itself and his mouth was so parched he didn’t think he could speak even if he wanted to.
The voice sang.
“I believe in the sun even when it is not shining and I believe in love even when there’s no one there.” Slowly, sweetly, the voice faded away into hums that, as much as Vadim wanted to find eerie, soothed him somehow. He closed his eyes and hoped to dream. The screech of the door woke him up.
Before long, Vadim waited for the voice. Sometimes it sang. Sometimes it counted. Sometimes it spoke it silly children’s rhymes that made him laugh quietly despite himself. It never called out for him again in the darkness and he never made to answer.
Then came the day that he heard the voice cry.
Vadim wasn’t sure what the sounds were at first. They were muffled as if buried in fabric. What Vadim recognized was the fear present there. He felt that fear every day, wondering if it would be his last, if the footsteps from the door would bring something other than water and a stale protein bar. The terror sat heavy in his stomach, no matter how much or how little he’d eaten. Vadim knew that fear would consume him in the end.
The voice sobbed softly. Swathed in darkness it was desperately alone. At that moment, Vadim didn’t care if he was crazy. He didn’t care if this was a trick. He just acted.
“What’s wrong?”
The first time he said it, the words came out all wrong. Vadim’s throat was hoarse from disuse and dehydration. It cracked like broken glass. He tried again.
“What’s wrong?”
The crying stopped. There was a rustle of fabric and a loud sniff, like someone wiping their nose so as not to be discovered.
“It’s okay,” Vadim said. “I’m not going to hurt you.”
That got him a surprised laugh.
“Look, I know things are pretty bleak,” he continued. “I mean, I used to play with zip ties. Now I’m stuck to them.” He wasn’t sure what else to say. “How about this? You’ve sung to me. Let me sing to you.”
He paused, drawing breath.
“Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there!” he sang, off tune and as loud as he could.
Another soft laugh came from the corner.
“I’m Ellie.” the darkness said.
“Vadim.”
They were interrupted by the screeching of the door. Vadim knew he needed sustenance, but when his captor left, he found himself surprisingly disappointed. He liked not being alone.
