OKAY. BATIM SONGS LESSON 101
Okay so the ones in my playlist, I shall really talk about them.
So my top 3, in order, is
Build Our Machine
Details in the Devil
Shade Me
First off, Build Our Machine was like- the first ever BATIM song I heard and I still love it. It gives that sense of “I’m gonna kill you and this song will prove that”. The lyrics are pretty in sync with the overall storyline in the game. Dagames has an incredibly powerful voice that brings out the song so well, overall. The tune itself is awesome because it just has so much power in it. Such a bop, always vibe to it.
Then we have Details in the Devil. You may or may not have seen me and @lightgriffinsect screensing this song, and can you blame us? It really is a good song. I mean- the lyrics are really powerful, can easily make me sway to it. Also Alice’s part (AS I WAS TYPING THIS IN THIS EXACT MOMENT THIS SONG CAME ON THIS IS GONNA HELP) was so cool. And yes the lyrics fit the character so much it’s actually accurate. At the same time, it’s been pointed out that I apparently relate to the lyrics. (YOU MADE IT HAPPEN, YOU MADE IT REAL 😩😩😩 DUDE THE SINGERS VOICE IS SO NICE TO LISTEN TO)
Then, we got Shade Me. For the most part, the song is mostly rap. I am a huge sucker for rap, which also quite a few BATIM songs have. So they automatically rank quite high in my faves. But uh- main point here is the part where it actually talks about BATIM and all those parts where the jumpscares DO exist and it’s just- wow. I can’t describe it.
Further on, we also have Children of the Machine. Dagames and CG5’s collab was epic. I love both artists sm, this was absolute perfection. Their voices just sound so nice I can’t rn- the lyrics are from a different POV this time, sounding more positive and… less murderous. I can’t tell if that’s a good or bad thing tbh. But I definitely vibe to it, 102%.
It’s in the same album as Shade Me, but it’s explicit. +5 points for that :). Okay fr tho, the “When the ink pours down, a dance for two” is so iconic I love it. Just imagining lost ones being caught dancing lmfao- It actually hits. Beat itself is pretty upbeat, like most BATIM songs and it’s really fun to listen to.
———— THIS IS WHERE TUMBLR MADE ME LOSE EVERYTHING ————
DAMN THUS SONG THO- CAN DEFINITELY IMAGINE BENDY WITH THAT VOICE FR THO. GODKFIEKKD AHHHHH- THE INTRO WITH THAT IS SO GOOD- AND THE CHORUS OMG. This song had me fangirling frfr
There are more BATIM songs in my playlist but stupid Tumblr made me mad so I no longer wanna talk about them. I said it once, they didn’t catch it, so y’all didn’t get it. More than just annoyed rn
———— AGAIN TUMBLR? SERIOUSLY? I JUST POSTED ALL THE LINKS.
YOU KNOW WHAT? FUCK YOUR INTERNET STRANGENESS SHIT I DONT CARE.
I don’t wanna bother with the links cuz Tumblr is shitty with links. Pussies. I didn’t even post more than 7-
Welcome Home

Bendy and the Ink Machine
Amen
ARE YOU HAPPY NOW TUMBLR?

Time to Set Them Free
A parody of NerdOut’s Endgame song Whatever It Takes. Henry, Wally, Sammy, Susie, Norman, Shawn, Allison, Thomas, Grant, Lacie, Buddy, and Dot all got out in time, but Henry, Norman, Grant, Buddy, and Dot returned to help Joey set things right (the rest are doing fine). Warning: This is a bit long. ————— (As the piano introduction begins, we see shots from the first trailers for Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 4, and Chapter 5. Cut to the Sillyvision Survivors [Henry, Wally, Sammy, Susie, Norman, Shawn, Allison, Thomas, Grant, Lacie, Buddy, and Dot] quitting in ones and twos. Cut to Joey watching a car pull away.) Chorus: With axe in hand, we make our stand. Our goal is plain to see. Make real your dreams, just start up the machine. You know we must believe. Time to set them free. (Cut to Henry, Buddy, Dot, Norman, and Grant standing outside the studio, Henry holding Joey’s letter.) Grant: Of the Joey Drew crew, we’re among the twelve last, But only five came back to confront the past. The devil nabbed our colleagues and he turned them into monsters, Then he went and twisted their minds through the words of a false prophet! (We see the remaining staff being turned into various ink monsters. Cut to Aaron [the band conductor] donning a mask made from a Bendy cutout.) I’ve learned that history can’t be erased. All the memories of the lost ones, yeah we got them all on tape. So let’s put an end to the demon’s Gospel of Dismay, We’ll free their souls from this hellish prison of black, white, and gray! (Cut to Norman and Boris wading through a flooded hallway, the ink up to their knees.) Norman: Prayers, can I get an amen? Toons trapped deep in the devil’s den. Gotta get them out, we’ll find a way To let the Toons see the sun, we won’t die today. (Suddenly, the Projectionist appears. Norman and Boris run, the former firing the Tommy Gun at the monster. Eventually, he shoots out the lens, blinding it and letting Henry deliver the killing blow with his axe.) Monsters want our souls, they just won’t let us be. Even my projector is alive and trying to kill me. So flow the ink, we cannot be stopped, wow. Tell me who’s laughing now. We’ve got a shot, it’s time to turn the lights out. (Cut to Buddy, walking down a hallway with Bendy at his side, when they are ambushed by several Searchers.) Buddy: Walking alone through the halls There’s blood on the walls Can’t ignore the demon’s calls So many of our friends What did it do to them? (Tears well up in his eyes as he dispatches the Searchers.) Don’t know if Joey’s earned a second chance But hope to atone drove him to call us five back Give the devil his due You know that dreams do come true! (As the last of the Searchers disappears into ink, he picks up Bendy and continues his trek. There’s a brief shot of the Boris corpse from the Chapter 1, followed by scenes from the second Chapter 5 trailer.) Chorus: With axe in hand, we make our stand. Our goal is plain to see. Make real your dreams, just start up the machine. You know we must believe. Time to set them free. (Cut to a third-person view of the chase scene from the end of Chapter 2.) Henry: Is escape possible? Well, we have to try. Yet even so, I still find myself wondering why Why the demon forced me to run and hide Devil darling’s become something I don’t recognize. (Cut to Henry, Buddy, and Bendy hiding inside a Little Miracle Station. Henry pulls Bendy into a reassuring hug as Buddy peers out, only to jump back as the Ink Demon pounces. Thankfully, the door remains shut.) But we will not let this horror show be televised From the depths, we will arise We won’t bend or break, so don’t bet on our demise We are alive—immortalized! (Cut to Dot standing on a catwalk, looking down at a vat of ink. We see images of Matt [Bendy’s voice actor], Rick [Boris’s voice actor], and Lauren [Joey’s secretary]. This is followed by Lauren laughing wickedly as she emerges from the Ink Machine as Malice.) Dot: Twelve survivors, all that’s left Matt, Rick, and the rest, I can’t forget Won’t leave ‘til we can bring them home Those little Toons we love and know (We see shots from the second Chapter 4 trailer. Cut back to Dot, closing her eyes and diving into the ink vat. A moment later, the true Alice surfaces, looking the way she does in game.) I will not bow before a fake Just one path left to take No, I’m not afraid to pay the price, My soul to give Alice life! (Cut to Joey sitting with the others in the safehouse, looking remorseful. Henry, Bendy, and Boris attempt to comfort him.) Joey: Listen, all I wanted was to give my characters life Everything that happened is my fault, so I gotta make things right Get them outta here, there’s a way, I know I just have to believe Only takes a pencil and a dream But I got to think of how we’re gonna bring the devil down! (Cut to Joey in his office, watching Henry, Buddy, Norman, Grant, and the Toons enter a secret elevator. The moment they’re gone, the Ink Demon breaks down the door. Joey turns to him, a sad smile on his face.) Like the prophet says, for love, sacrifice is needed The beast wants to claim my soul, he must be cheated. I’ll give up any chance I had at freedom to keep the Ink Demon bound. Rewind! (A pentagram drawn in ink on the floor lights up. Everything resets to how it was before the arrival of Henry and company, with one difference—the Toons are no longer present.) Chorus: With axe in hand, we make our stand. Our goal is plain to see. Make real your dreams, just start up the machine. You know we must believe. (Know we must believe.) (Cut to the outside of the studio, where Henry, Norman, Grant, Buddy, and the Toons are watching the sun come up. Wally, Thomas, and Lacie’s vans pull up, with Sammy, Susie, Shawn, and Allison on board. Henry takes one last look at the studio as he and the others get in. As the song ends, we see the vans drive away, leaving Joey Drew Studios behind for good.) Chorus: With axe in hand, we make our stand. Our goal is plain to see. Make real your dreams, just start up the machine. You know we must believe. (You know we must believe.) Time to set them free. ————— Notes: I imagine the characters as resembling the designs of Aileen-Rose, as her art tends to have sort of a Disney-ish feel to it. -Character matchups: +Grant as Captain America: Grant is voiced by Will ‘DAGames’ Ryan, who wrote Build Our Machine, possibly the most famous BATIM fan song in existence. In Whatever It Takes, Captain America is voiced by JT Music, who wrote another popular BATIM fan song called Can’t Be Erased. +Norman as Thor: In Whatever It Takes, Thor is voiced by FabvL, the only other singer to have a BATIM song (don’t know about Divide, who did the chorus, but he wouldn’t count anyway). Likewise, Norman is the only other in-game character who only appears as a recording (I’m not counting the Projectionist as an appearance). +Buddy as Hawkeye: Hawkeye did not appear in Infinity War, and Buddy only appeared in the tie-in novel. +Dot as Black Widow: She is the only female character to return, and like Buddy, she only appeared in the novel (prior to Endgame, neither Hawkeye nor Black Widow had a movie of their own). +Joey as Iron Man: This version of Joey is a good guy, trying to make up for his mistakes, not entirely unlike Tony. +Henry as the Hulk: The Hulk is the only option left. XD -If anyone wants to do a comic or video of this, be sure to credit me! :)

OH BOY this is going to be a long one. I’m very passionate about music so I gave multiple answers…which is why this is REALLY REALLY long I’m sorry jkvksp- 🥲
1. Yeah no I could never pick only one favorite song. That’s literally impossible because I listen to SO MANY SONGS on a daily basis. The closest I’ll ever get to having favorite songs are the ones I consider timeless…mainly due to nostalgic reasons and/or specific memories attached to the songs. Here’s some examples: “Mountain Sound (Of Monsters and Men)”, “Renegades (X Ambassadors)”, “How to save a life” & “Over my head” (by The Fray), “Landslide (Fleetwood Mac)”, “Love song (Sara Bareilles)”, “Fast Car (Tracy Chapman)”, “Mr Jones (Counting Crows)”, “my girl (The Temptations)”, and “Build our machine (DAGames)” of course~
2. I don’t remember which was last, but I was listening to these songs on loop last week: “Moving up in the world (DAGames)”, “Our Word (36 Questions)”, “Ghost in the sun (PrinceWhateverer)”, “Insane (Black Gryph0n)”, “This comes from inside (The Living Tombstone)”, “Oh it’s you (Man on the Internet)”, and “Lonely King (CG5)”
3. I LOVE all the songs by AJR. All of their albums are INCREDIBLE and I’ve definitely memorized a lot of the song lyrics
4. Oooh this is such a difficult question. Uh, I guess, “You will be okay” from Helluva Boss haha. Because it’s got great singing, a soothing melody, and beautiful visuals. Also a narrative story! “Lullaby For a Princess (ponyphonic)” could also work for very similar reasons :) buuut I’ll also mention “Wait for it” from Hamilton & “She used to be mine (Waitress)” because why the hell not
5. I really depends on what you mean by bad mood. When I’m irritable I might listen to an edgy/intense song and put it on blast in my headphones lol. Something like “Too Far (CK9C)”, “War! (Zach Callison)”, or “Happy Pills (Weathers)”. When I’m melancholy I’ll listen to something with a sad tone or slow pace. Songs like “that funny feeling (Bo Burnham)”, “I was human (Rachie’s English cover)”, “Wake up (EDEN)”, and “when you love someone (James TW)”, “Mr. Blue (Bojack Horseman)” …yeah I listen to lots of sad songs lol. Also Paramore songs because “Ain’t It Fun”, “Rose Colored Boy”, and “Hard Times” honestly hit different when your going through stuff
6. Although the original is good, I actually prefer the piano version of “This is Gospel (Panic! At the Disco)” since the emotional weight of the lyrics is more prevalent in that version. Plus more angst ;)
7. Rap, Country music from the 2000’s, and Classical music…sorry 😬
8. “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (Marvin & Tammi)”, “I Love (Lennon & Maisy)”, “New Soul (Yael Naim)”, “The Way I Am (Ingrid Michaelson)”, “Cups (Anna Kendrick)”, “No Place I’d Rather Be (Clean Bandit)”, “Me Without You (TobyMac)”, “Daughter of the Moon (Adriana Figueroa)”, and “Lost Boy (Ruth B)”. I remember I was very little when I heard these songs, like either in preschool or kindergarten, and I absolutely fell in love with them. And even now they hold a special place in my heart <3
9.“Somewhere only we know” by Keane…for so so many reasons 💜 Another close one is “Iris” by TheGooGooDolls…but mainly the chorus part. I can also find myself relating to “Landslide” by Feetwood Mac.
10. Oh definitely “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran. I literally dreaded when that song would come on the radio since it made me very very uncomfortable. I’m a highly sex repulsed asexual so I disliked how direct the 1st person lyrics were, especially during the part “put that body on me” like EGH I just can’t deal with that. And it would play on the radio NON STOP. But on the flip side, I absolutely ADORE “Castle on the hill” and even his more recent songs like “Bad habits”…so I don’t hate his music, I just strongly dislike that one song since it tormented me for so many years lol
11. Uh nothing recently, but MONTHS ago one of my sweetest friends recommended the “How To Train Your Dragon” ost and songs from the video game “Ori and the Blind Forest”. It gave me a lot of Hollow Knight vibes which I very much like <3
12. I honestly don’t remember. I used to look up lyrics all the time, but now I just listen to songs on repeat until the lyrics stick with me. I think it would have been “Oh it’s you (Man on the Internet)” because I desperately wanted to sing along with that one
13. “Spamton (Deltarune)”, “Friday Theme (3008 & Roblox)”, “Good Job You Made It To The Bottom Of The Mind Control Facility (The Stanley Parable)”, “Bully Bandstand Demo (Friendship is Witchcraft’s ost)”, and “Pugsley’s musical spell song” (Dead end: Paranormal Park)
14. This is probably a highly controversial opinion but…”Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen)” jskcvkslp I’m sorry but it JUST KEEPS GOING and I have literally no clue what the songs even about. I will say it was very much ahead of its time and it sounds like a cool mashup of many songs in one but like…idk it’s just not my thing :/
15. Christina Grimme, Rory Webley, Wyn Starks, and Amanda Fagan. So underrated bro it honestly hurts my soul that they don’t get enough recognition. And I know Christina Grimmie was very well known at some point, but I don’t hear anyone talking about her music anymore…she deserves to be remembered by future generations :( Also shout out to “Lemon (english ver)” sung by Abby & the “Dying in LA” cover by Leeningtowerofpizza because these two have such lovely voices and also deserve recognition <3
16. Individual songs 100%
17. “Moving up in the world (DAGames)”, “Hell of a ride (Bo Burnum)”, “A Good Song Never Dies (Saint Motel)”, “So Caught Up (The Teskey Brothers)”, “Bittersweet (Big Head Todd & the Monsters)”, “The Graduate (The Arcadian Wild)”, “Closing Time (Senisonic)”, “Yobanashi Deceive (English cover by Will Stetson)”, “Epoch (The Living Tombstone remix)”, and “Hey Ya! (OutKast)” even though I know the lyrics are supposed to be deep…please forgive me lol
18. I do this mainly with songs translated into English like “Sayoko”, “Daybreak and Fireflies”, “Lemon”, and “Ayano’s Theory of Happiness”. But I also do it with heartfelt songs that I feel deserve my total attention to the message such as “More” (Halsey), “Brother (Kodaline)”, “Must Have Been the Wind (Alec Benjamin)”, “Two (Sleeping At Last)”, “Hurt (Johnny Cash’s cover)”, “Vincent (Don McLean)”, and “Lucky (Amy Collins)”…and then I start sobbing 🥲
19. I’m actually pretty fond of the song “Devil's Train (The Lab Rats)” even though it could be easily classified as rap. The Stupendium also makes musical/rap-like songs but I find myself enjoying most of them. Demon Dice makes incredible rap music too. I rarely have exceptions to classical music besides some video game ost’s. And “Mean (Taylor Swift)” and “Good Girl (Carrie Underwood)” are exceptions for country music.
20. I prefer my music quiet (2-3 clicks in volume), EXCEPT when I’m daydreaming an intense battle scene or pretending to be a confident masculine villain 😅. When I have these “triggered” daydreams (I call them triggered since these are recurring daydreams directly linked to specific songs) I get a sudden urge to sprint around the house & put the music really loud (which to me is 6-8 clicks) until I slow down my sprinting pace. It stays low volume for all other songs I listen too though
an unusual music ask game because i don't think i've seen any recently
what's your favorite song and why?
what is the last song you looped?
are there any albums that you like the entirety of?
what song would you recommend to anyone?
what song do you listen to when you're in a bad mood?
what is a song you like a certain version of but not others? (ie: the acoustic version vs the studio version)
what is your least favorite genre?
what was your first favorite song?
what song do you think describes you best?
is there any song you can't stand, even though you like the artist?
what is a song someone recommended to you recently?
what is the last song you looked up the lyrics to?
is there a song you wish was longer?
a song you wish was shorter?
is there an artist you wish more people knew?
do you listen to albums or individual songs?
is there a song that you listen to for the beat, not the lyrics?
a song you listen to for the lyrics, not the beat?
do you have an exception to a genre you don't like?
do you listen to your music loud or quiet?

"The Creator Lied to Us" Refers to Henry, Not Joey
This is only a half-formed theory as I believe we’re still missing information if this is true, but it’s something that’s been nagging at me for the longest time. Ever since the game’s initial release, we’ve been assuming Joey is “The Creator“ - after all, he made the IRL cartoons, so the title makes sense.
But... is he?
1. The message on the wall was either written by Sammy (who left the ”He will set us free” and “it’s time to believe” messages) or Alice Angel (who most likely left the “I don’t want to work here anymore“ one, seeing as it has a five-fingered hand print near it and Susie was initially enthusiastic about the job). But take a look at this:
Both of them refer to Joey by name, so why would they call him “The Creator“?
2. Related to the above: Remember what Alice said about Henry when she made the elevator drop?
She says that she “knows who [Henry] is“... as if he has a different name or title he’s known by. She knows he’s the Creator.
3. Likewise, look at Sammy’s dialogue:
Meatly made a point to include a line about Sammy not recognizing Henry. The only reason he would do this was if the scene wouldn’t make sense unless that fact was established - implying that Sammy’s reaction would have been different if he recognized Henry. What about Henry would make Sammy respond differently?
It’s also important to note that Sammy addressed every one of his coworkers in the Q&A, including Joey. The only one that was avoided completely... was Henry.
4. Check out the official description of the Bendy sticker:
The only one being creeped out in the game is Henry himself - hence why the description mentions the possibility that the one being unnerved is a creator of something.
Also, pay close attention to how it says that the creator can set them free. This would certainly explain Sammy’s above line - he would certainly have a different reaction to Henry if he could potentially set him free.
5. A minor one, but worth noting: Meatly is a fan of DAGame’s “Build Our Machine“ song, even including the instrumental in the game. Many lines in the song have ended up as foreshadowing (”I am alive, immortalized” referring to Joey’s interest in cheating death, or the “Watch as we reanimate / our corpses you abandoned” line). The song is being directed at Henry, and the chorus includes the verse “You’re the creator / you traitor“.
And finally: Henry’s Chapter 3 tape is very hard to get to, suggesting it’s important. Despite this, it gives us one piece of info and one piece of info only:
“On the plus side, I’ve got a new character I think people are going to love“.
See this post for a better explanation than I could formulate, but in short: The tape was recorded two weeks into the company - it’s unlikely they had made their star character yet. And at the end, Henry says that he has a new character that people will love, and we know from Susie’s tape that Bendy was extremely popular. In other words, it’s highly likely Henry was the one who came up with Bendy - which means that, no matter which way you look at it, Henry is the Creator.
TL;DR: “The Creator“ is Henry, as he’s the one who originally came up with the idea of Bendy and made it happen. This is why Alice and Sammy refer to Joey by name instead of the title and why they have such odd reactions around Henry.
#bendy and the ink machine#batim#henry stein#joey drew#sammy lawrence#alice angel#outdesign posts things#outdesign analyzes things#granted i can't tell you what he lied about yet#i feel like that's info that would be hinted at in chapter 4 if this is right#it also fits in a plot twist sense#it's a common tactic to make people assume one thing when it's really something else entirely#greatest hits
