WC: 1552 - Rated: G - CW: Courtroom Final chapter in my @loceitweek story. -
The seconds ticked slowly on the clock outside Patton’s hearing room. Waiting in an empty hearing room, Logan hadn’t needed the text from Janus’ paralegal that Patton had arrived with the social worker. The little boy’s cries, hoarse and broken, tore through Logan’s heart as he passed. Not daring to risk a glance, he stood behind the cracked-open door, listening as Patton’s his voice warbled then was muffled as he was brought into his own hearing room.
The moment Tasha’s notification popped up on his phone, Logan slipped out with a grateful wave to the observing clerk and closed the door behind him. Copies of his expedited emergency placement application held like a shield, Logan tried to pretend he couldn’t still hear Patton’s voice as the parties attempted to be heard over Patton’s protests.
If anything, his shouts grew more frantic, likely when Grace joined Janus at the GAL table. After the escalation, he suddenly quieted and Logan breathed for what felt like the first time since Patton had left their offices that morning. Forcing his eyes closed, he flexed his fingers, the small owl and Janus’ scarf damp and wrinkled from his grasp. Counting slowly, he took another deep breath.
All of their preparation would be for nothing if he lost control like he had earlier today.
“Lo… Love, drink this and then go home,” Janus had murmured to him, pressing a cup of tea into his hands. “The hearing’s not until two o’clock. Take a nap and a shower, change into your favorite suit and come back to the courthouse.”
“No, I should help you prepare, I can—”
Janus cut him off with a gentle look. “Tasha’s already reviewing the file and Linda’s pushing your application through. The best thing you can do to help us prepare is to rest and ready yourself.” In the privacy of their office, he stroked Logan’s cheek, wiping away a fresh tear. “Demonstrate to the Court you have your own oxygen mask firmly in place before you commit to helping Patton with his.”
It was an old argument but an effective one.
Smoothing down the bundle in his hands, Logan looked up when the hearing room door swung open. “Mr. Sanders?” the clerk asked out of formality. “We’re ready for you.”
Taking one more deep breath, Logan squared his shoulders and entered the hearing room.
Ms. Croft’s court-appointed attorney sat alone at the defendant’s table, the chair beside him conspicuously empty. Grace and a junior litigant from the prosecuting attorney’s office sat at the opposing counsel’s table. Three redwell’s worth of files were stacked between them, a wall of evidence Croft’s overworked 18-B lawyer looked hard-pressed to counter.
Logan’s brow furrowed. Though surrounded by mounds of evidence in support of the State’s termination of parental rights, Patton himself was conspicuously missing from Grace’s arms. Shoulders falling, Logan realized Patton’s sudden quiet wasn’t due to being soothed but had instead been his expulsion from the hearing room.
He turned to the GAL table where Tasha and Janus sat, quietly conferring. The angle of their table left their backs to the door. Neither looked up as he entered and moved to the examination chair next to the judge’s bench. As Logan approached, though, a flash of blond curls peeked up over Janus’ shoulder, followed by puffy, bloodshot blue eyes.
Wordless, Patton shouted and wiggled his way out of Janus’ arms. He dashed across the room and flung himself at Logan’s legs.
“Apologies, Your Honor,” Janus purred, bowing his head as he rose. “I did not have the grip I thought I had on the child,” he explained, casting a quick glance at Logan as he knelt and wrapped both arms around Patton as he quietly cried.
“Everything will be okay, Patton,” he whispered, half-listening as Ms. Croft’s attorney objected to the demonstration. “Look who I brought,” he said, holding up the owl.
Grinning through tears, Patton grabbed the stuffie and Janus’ scarf and hugged them, his tiny, “Thank you,” impossible to miss in the tiny hearing room.
“Surely you are not objecting to the return of the child’s attachment object, are you Mr. Mackie?” Janus countered, the raised eyebrow directed at Ms. Croft's attorney made it clear the dual meaning of his words were fully intentional. “Requesting the Court’s permission for my client to remain with Mr. Sanders while he testifies.” He turned again to Ms. Croft’s attorney. “Unless, of course, the esteemed Mr. Mackie requires a live reenactment of the child’s trauma from this morning?”
“No objection, Your Honor,” he said, shaking his head.
“Very well. Mr. Sanders, you may take your seat.”
“Thank you, Judge,” Logan said before smiling down at Patton. “May I carry you?” Nodding, Patton wrapped both arms around Logan’s neck as he rose to his feet and sat behind the prosecuting attorney’s table.
“Yes, thank you, Judge,” Janus said, turning to watch them settle into their seat. He caught Patton’s eye and smiled.
Patton grinned back and repeated, “Thank you, Judge.”
Logan suppressed his own grin and brushed a lock of hair away from Patton’s eyes. “Let’s listen quietly now, okay?”
He bit his lip and looked away, but still held on to him. If anything, he clung to both Logan’s jacket and the little owl that much tighter. Logan tilted his head, waiting to see if he’d meet his gaze. After a moment, Patton peeked up at him and Logan broadened his smile, nodding before looking up when the judge began to speak.
“Ms. Henkes,” she addressed Patton’s social worker. “Has Children’s Services received Mr. Sander’s completed application as an emergency foster placement for the child?”
After a quick nod from the prosecuting attorney, Grace rose. “Yes, Your Honor.”
“And has his application been approved?”
Grace’s pause felt entirely too long and Logan fought to keep his expression neutral. Finally she nodded. “Yes, Your Honor.”
“Your Honor.” Mackie stood, stiffly waiting for Judge Bloom’s nod of acknowledgement. “Is the Court declining to address the clear defensive wounds littering Mr. Sander’s hands and face?”
Janus stood. “Your honor, the Court is well aware of Ms. Henkes’ account of this morning's—”
Judge Bloom raised a single hand, frowning. “Mr. Williams?”
The prosecutor stood, a quaver in his voice. It was the first Logan had heard him speak. “Yes, Your Honor?”
“Do you have any corroborating evidence of said account?”
“Ah…” he looked hopefully at Grace.
She gave him a half shrug. “Their office was full of people—”
“Yes, full of people employed by Mr. Sanders!”
Janus waited, watching the judge swallow back annoyance at the outburst. “Mr. Mackie, allow Ms. Henkes to answer. Ms. Henkes,” Judge Bloom nodded. "Were all the other witnesses to the child's outburst QLaw staff?"
“Well, yes, Your Honor,” Grace said. “We were in the QLaw office.”
Fingers steepled together, Judge Bloom frowned, eyes down on the file before her. Nudging Janus, Tasha slid her notepad across the table to him and he scanned it, rising to his feet. “Your Honor, if I may?” At her terse nod, Janus smiled warmly. “Thank you, Judge. Yes, most of the other witnesses are QLaw staff.” The smile he cast at Ms. Croft’s attorney was considerably frostier. “However we were also hosting a deposition this morning and two of our esteemed opposing counsel were visiting our office and witnessed everything.”
“And these attorneys are?” Judge Bloom asked. Logan couldn’t tell if she was relieved or amused.
“Berner and Pollock,” he said, then turned to face Ms. Croft’s attorney. “Colleagues of the esteemed Mr. Mackie.”
Judge Bloom sighed and glared at Mackie. “Have you discussed this case with Messers Berner and Pollock?”
Mackie pressed the cap down on his pen and took a deep breath. “Yes, Your Honor.”
Janus took his seat, giving a small nod to his paralegal. “Well done, Tasha,” he whispered.
“And yet you declined to share this information with the Court?”
He swallowed visibly and nodded, not quite meeting the judge’s gaze. Logan hid the smile he couldn’t quite suppress behind Patton’s curls. “Merely doing my best to enact an aggressive defense for my client.”
“Your client who could not be bothered to attend her own motion?”
The empty chair beside him shouted out its presence and Logan held Patton a little closer, grateful both the judge and counsel were avoiding referring to Ms. Croft by name. Patton turned his head, snuggling into his hold and dancing the owl up his arm.
Ms. Croft’s attorney nodded. “Yes, Your Honor.”
“Take your seat.” He’d barely touched his seat when Judge Bloom shook her head. “Defendant's motion is denied. The termination stands and the minor child’s placement is left to the determination of Children’s Services.” She stood, smoothing down her robes and everyone stood with her.
“Hey, um, Sanders,” Mackie gathered his folders and turned to face Logan.
Patton flinched in his arms, one hand gripping the owl, the other twisting his lapel. Logan tightened his hold, rubbing little circles into his back. “No need to worry,” he murmured. “You’re safe.”
“Nothing personal, you know,” Mackie said with a shrug. “We all do what we need for our clients.”
“Indeed,” Janus said, moving to stand between Mackie and Logan. “Nothing personal.”
Logan smiled when Patton laid his head on his shoulder, relaxing in his arms. “Nothing personal at all.”

... I just wanted to shitpost abt that spicy/mature iZ!Intruloceit drabble I wrote a while back. (It's mature for a reason, guys.)
Look, despite ALL the reservations - all three are consenting adults to the scene, man.
If Patton (a therapist; Virgil and Roman's specifically) ever considers putting Remus on his caseload, he'd be like this probably...

Have You Ever Considered Killing Your Title? Masterpost
Remus has known how he’s supposed to be since he was 5 and his duties were explained to him for the first time. He might be the crown prince, or just another heir, but either way, he had a role to play. It wasn’t a role that suited him though; didn’t stick like a second skin. And as time passes and he and Roman grow older, how much it doesn't suit him becomes all the more prevalent and savage in its perpetuation.

Intruloceit Headcannons💚💛💙
Here are some Intruloceit (Remus x Logan x Janus) Headcannons as requested by @sapph_draws_stuff and @_cloudy.kaz_ on Instagram. These requests reminded me how much I like this ship. I hope you all enjoy.
Content warnings: Feeling like/worrying that your feelings are unrequited (don’t worry, they aren’t unrequited), mention of accidently punching someone in the face (no serious harm is done though). Let me know if I missed anything else.
Click below the cut to read the headcannons.
—————————————————————-
- In terms of how the three of them got together, this is how it went. Remus and Janus had crushes on each other for years, but didn’t want to say anything and risk ruining their friendship. They were the only company they had after Virgil left after all. Eventually, Remus and Janus are somewhat welcomed by Thomas and the other sides, and the two start to get to know Logan more. They both admire how clever Logan is, and notice how sweet he can be towards those he cares about despite saying he’s not an emotional person. (I’ll continue this as the next bullet point)
- Janus and Logan start having fun debates with each other, and Janus makes sure Logan is taking proper care of himself. Meanwhile, Remus and Logan conduct cool science experiments and watch crime documentaries together. Through these bonding activities, the two dark sides realize they have feelings for Logan. Janus notices that Remus likes Logan, and feels slightly upset about this since he also likes Logan and he still likes Remus as well, so now Janus thinks that he truly has no chance with either of his crushes. Meanwhile, Remus is having similar feelings about his crushes on Janus and Logan. The two dark sides both think they have no chance with their crushes, so they decide to be supportive friends and get their crushes together. (Continuing this in the next bullet point)
- Janus tries to push Remus into confessing his feelings to Logan, but Remus tells Janus that he knows he likes Logan too and tells him to confess to the logical side as well. This leads to the two dark sides agreeing to both confess to Logan, so they can get their feelings off their chest and figure out who Logan likes. They agree to be supportive of each other still no matter who, if either of them, ends up with Logan. Their joint confession leads to Logan saying he likes both of them as well, but that he didn’t say anything before because he thought they had crushes on each other or were secretly dating. This leads to Janus and Remus staring at Logan and then each other in surprise before the two dark sides confess to liking each other. The conversation ends with the three of them agreeing to all date each other, and they have a group hug.
- After they got together, Remus started to pick up and carry around both Janus and Logan. Remus does this since he likes to show off how strong he is, and likes having his loved ones in his arms. Janus is used to be carried around by Remus since the creative side would do so back when they were just friends. But the first time Remus picked up Logan, the logical side was very caught off guard and ended up accidentally hitting the creative side in the face out of shock. Logan immediately apologized but Remus said it was fine, and that he was impressed by how strong of a punch Logan had.
- When Logan is relaxing on the couch and reading, Remus will walk by and sit down on the logical side’s lap. Then Remus will ask Logan if he can read out loud so he can listen to the story as well, and Logan happily fulfills his boyfriend’s request. Janus will then end up walking by and sitting next to Logan on the couch to listen as well. The deceitful side usually ends up resting his head on Logan’s shoulder and falling asleep to the sound of Logan’s calm voice.
- Since Logan often struggles with expressing his emotions, Janus got him a reversible octopus plushie to use to show when he’s feeling calm/happy or upset. The plushie is yellow on the happy/calm side and green on the upset side. The upset side has a mustache and the yellow side has scales. Logan appreciated the thoughtfulness behind the gift and liked how the plushie resembles his boyfriends.
——————————————————————
End Notes: Thanks for reading! As always, if you like any of these Headcannons and want to make a fanfic or fanart based on them, you can do so. You just need to ask me first and then tag and credit me in the post so I can see it.

The Two Princes, Part 1
Pairing: Janus x Logan x Remus (Intruloceit)
Twin princes Roman and Remus meet The Dragonlord
Trigger warnings: Fire, depictions of violence, Remus being Remus.
Read it on ao3 here!
Taglist: @prince-rowan-of-the-forest @sleepy-nova-tea
“Bet your horse can’t trot as fast as mine!”
Roman chuckled as his brother took off.
“When will he learn, Desponia? You’re much faster than your brother,” Roman snapped at the horse's regions. “And so am I!”
He took off after his brother with a hyah! Desponia trotted as fast as she could, easily following Remus and Airon’s tracks. He soon caught up with his brother, who smirked at him.
“Bet your horse can’t jump as high as mine!”
“What? The only thing to jump around here is- Remus!”
Remus smiled and took off for the ravine.
“By the gods. He’s going to kill himself one day.” Roman muttered.
He cantered after his brother, trying to conserve Desponia’s energy. They were on a three day hunting trip after all. By the time he made it to the ravine, Remus was already on the other side.
“Come on Ro-bro! I’ve got something to show you!”
Roman chuckled. “Ready, Desponia?”
The horse whinnied in response. Roman backtracked a few steps, and with a bounding leap he and Desponia cleared the ravine.
“Ha! Remus, you should really know by now, anything you can do, I can do better!”
“Even hunting a dragon?”
“Of course! Of course! One would have to leave The Dragonlands, though. And that hasn’t happened in over a thousand years!”
Remus smirked and dismounted his horse, Airon. Roman followed suit, and followed Remus a few steps into the forest.
“Explain that, then.”
Roman couldn’t believe what Remus was pointing to. It was indeed a large footprint, with three toes and three claws protruding from it. Could it be? Could a dragon be in Roman and Remus’s kingdom?
“It can’t be.”
Remus smiled and shrugged. “Only one way to find out.”
Roman nodded in agreement. The two princes returned to their horses, gathered their weapons, and slowly followed the tracks. The pair moved in sync, as they had so many times before. The Princes were experienced hunters, having trained since they were young.
Their Aunt Patty demanded it be so.
Roman and Remus’s parents were killed when they were very young. A group of assassins snuck into the castle on the eve of their fifth birthday. Their parents had thrown them a grand ball. Remus was sneaking around the castle, trying to avoid a punishment from their governess. Roman had been dancing with his mother in the ballroom.
His mother must’ve heard the pistol cock. He remembered her messing up the dance, putting herself in front of the assassin. The coward shot her in the back, causing her to fall on to Roman.
“Messalina!” Their father attempted to run to her aid, when another shot rang out, killing him as well.
Roman had clung to his mother as the ballroom erupted into chaos. He kept his eyes closed as people ran into him as they tried to escape.
“Mother? Mother, please wake up,” he begged. He knew she would know what to do. “Mother?”
Remus was wandering the halls, laughing as ‘Nanny Red’ chased him.
“Remus Capet! Your parents are waiting for you! You come put on your formal wear this instant!”
“No! I won’t and you can’t make me!”
Remus wishes he had. Then maybe he could’ve said goodbye.
He rapidly turned a corner and ran into a mage wearing a dark robe.
“Hey! Watch where you’re going Mister!”
The Mage chuckled. “Prince Remus, I presume?”
“What’s it to ya?”
The Mage started an incantation, and threw a blue glow in Remus's direction. Remus jumped out of the way, laughing.
“Ha ha ha! Can’t catch me! Can’t catch me!” The Prince avoided every spell the mage threw at him, before finally running off and hiding in a cupboard.
That’s where ‘Nanny Red’ found him hours later, after the entire staff had searched the castle high and low for him. And with the assassins in the wind, they had all feared the worst.
“What? What could I possibly have done this time?” Remus asked.
‘Nanny Red’ dragged him into his room, where he was met with a crying Roman.
“Ro-bro?”
“Re-Re!”
Roman had enveloped him in the tightest hug. They were locked in their room until the next night, when their Aunt Patty came to be their guardian and regent until they came of age.
A day that was quickly approaching.
“The tracks end a few feet away,” Remus whispered.
Roman nodded in response. He started to walk towards the end of the trail until he heard a CRACK!
The Princes stopped.
CRACK!
Roman pointed to their right, and Remus nodded. They slowly headed towards the noise, readying their weapons, when a loud roar echoed throughout the forest.
“WHO DARES ATTACK A DRAGON'S MATE!?!?”
Roman had enough foresight to grab his shield before the fire began. He and Remus hid behind it until the fire stopped.
“Well, guess we found the dragon!” Remus cackled.
“Janus! You should not have come this far from the cave!”
A mage with broken glasses, disheveled hair, and torn clothes appeared from the bushes.
A large, golden dragon landed next to him and nuzzled into his arms.
“I’m sorry my love, but I heard them following you and worried you might’ve been in danger.”
The mage chuckled. “Who, these two? Please! I could take them in my sleep.”
Roman made a noise of offense. “Excuse me? I am the crown Prince, Roman Capetian of Reston. I have training in all forms of combat. There is no way a scrawny mage like you could ever defeat me.”
The mage scoffs. “Scrawny? Please. A few months in this wilderness may have affected my body, but my mind is still brilliantly inact, your highness.” The mage whispered an incantation, which sent Remus flying into the air. He landed back next to Roman, laughing and clapping his hands.
“Again! Again!”
The mage rolled his eyes. “Come, Janus, you should not be this far from the cave.”
“Not so fast,” Roman pointed his sword at the mage. “Who are you, and why have you brought a dragon into my kingdom?”
The dragon growled and stepped between the mage and the sword.
“Janus,”
“Drop the sword, highness.” The dragon spat.
“Not until you leave.”
The dragon growled, and Roman drew back his sword.
“Janus!”
The dragon and the prince lunged for each other. The mage quickly cast a spell, causing the two to freeze.
“Whoah, how’d you do that ?” Remus asks.
“M-magic! Now, could you please, please get your brother away from Janus? I can’t hold this spell forever!”
Remus nodded and pulled the sword from his brother's hands. He took hold of Roman’s chest, and nodded to the mage. He released the spell, causing Roman to thrash in Remus’s arms, and the dragon flew into the trees.
“Remus! Unhand me this instant!”
“Sorry Ro-bro, no can do! I wanna find out more about these two hot tamales.” Remus winked at the mage as the dragon flew back to them.
“Logan, what was that for?” He growled.
The Mage, Logan, scoffed and crossed his arms. “I’d prefer it if we didn’t cause an all out war between Reston and the Dragonlands. Especially in the state we’re in.”
The dragon huffed and sat down next to Logan. “I suppose.”
Roman continued to struggle in Remus’s arms. “See? They’re giving up! Let me go!”
Remus rolled his eyes. “Roman, stop it. They’re clearly not here to cause us harm. Will you please stop?”
“Never! A true warrior never gives up!”
Remus gave a slow whistle, and soon their horses came galloping through the woods. The dragon snarled at them, but they remained unphased.
“Logan, would you be so kind as to get into the left saddlebag? There should be some rope in there we can-“
“Remus! How dare you! This is high treason! I’ll have you arrested!”
Remus rolled his eyes again. “Oh please. You and I both know I commit way more treasonous things than this daily, and you have yet to have me arrested.”
Logan graciously got the rope and tied an intricate knot around Roman’s wrists. Remus had the horses kneel and sat Roman atop of Desponia.
“Allow me to introduce us more properly. I am Remus Capet, Prince of Reston. This asshole is Crowned Prince Roman the Idiot. And you two,” Remus took Logan’s hand and kissed it. “Are two of the most beautiful creatures I’ve ever seen.” He offered his hand to Janus, but the dragon either didn’t know what it meant, or had no intention of giving him his hand. Or… claw? Remus wasn’t sure what the proper terminology was.
The mage and the dragon shared a look. A long look. Finally the mage turned back to Remus.
“Greetings, your highness. I am Logan Crofter, student at the Le Fey School of Magic. And this is Janus, The Dragonlord.”
Remus’s eyes widened. “The Dragonlord? As in, ruler of all dragons?”
The Dragon nods.
“No offense, but what the hell are you doing here? I mean, we’re very happy to have you, but, what the hell are you doing here?”
The dragon looked away from them. Logan sighed.
“We were attacked. Other dragons got… jealous of Janus and I’s relationship. We were driven out and Janus… Janus was wounded.”
The dragon growled.
“Well I’m sorry Janus! But it’s true! You’re injured and there isn’t a damn thing we can do about it because we lost The Fire Ruby!”
Janus growled even louder, then took flight. Logan sat on the ground and put his head in his hands.
“You ok Lolo?” Remus sat down next to the mage.
“Please, please don’t call me that.”
Remus nodded. “You alright, Logan?”
“Janus has been… difficult since his injury. Dragons are proud creatures. He doesn’t want to admit he needs help. I admit it… can be rather difficult. It took me almost failing a class to understand that…”
Remus chuckled. “Well, what if you’re the one who asks for help?”
“Wh-what?”
“Well, if Janus is as attached to you as I think he is, if you were to say, come back to the palace with me, wouldn’t he follow you?”
“Perhaps, but,”
“Well then,” Remus stood and offered Logan his hand. “I would like to officially invite you and the dragonlord to the palace. So we can help you, of course.”
“I…I accept.”
“Wonderful.” Remus winked as Logan accepted his hand. He helped the mage to his feet and led him over to the kneeling horses.
“No! Remus! I refuse to have them in my castle! Remus, are you even listening to me? Remus. Remus!”
Janus had begrudgingly come back to the palace with them. He refused Remus’s generous offer to allow Logan to ride with him, and instead insisted on flying the whole way there.
“Janus, this is ridiculous! You’re wasting an unnecessary amount of energy! Energy you could be preserving to help yourself heal.”
“You know that that’s impossible.” The Dragonlord growled.
“Since you refuse to let me try, I refuse to believe it.”
They made it back to the palace two days later.
“Your highnesses! Is everything alright? You weren’t expected back for- holy heracles! Is that a dragon?”
Several guards raised their weapons towards Janus, causing him to become startled. He hurried to stretch out his body, allowing himself to look bigger than he was.
“Ah! Janus!”
In his haste, Janus threw Logan off of his back. Remus leapt off of his horse, somersaulted, and managed to catch Logan in his arms.
“Oh, um, thank you, Remus.” Logan said. “You ah, you can put me down now.”
“Ugh, if I have to.”
“Let me GO!”
The guards managed to get some nets around Janus’s muzzle, and one began stabbing at his injured leg.
“No! Don’t hurt him! Please!” Logan tried grabbing at one of the guards, who easily shook him off.
“Enough! Guards, stop this!” Remus demanded.
The guards immediately stopped. Logan pushed past them and started pulling the nets off of Janus.
“Your highness,”
“As long as they’re here, no harm is to come to the mage OR the dragon! They are my official guests. Understood?”
“Yes, your highness.”
“Good. Do me a favor, deposit his royal asshole-iness to his chambers will you?” Remus handed the horse's reins to a guard, then ushered Logan and Janus past them all.
“Remus! They cannot stay here! Remus, Remus!!”
Remus opened the doors to an old barn.
“Nobody uses this place anymore. Not since…”
Not since his parents died.
“Anyways, you can stay here. Unless you’d prefer a small cramped room in the castle?”
Logan and Janus looked around.
“No. This will be just fine. Thank you, Remus.”
Remus didn’t hate to admit: Logan cleaned up very nicely. The Mage had been in and out of the castle over the past few days, haggling various things off of servants. Soap, hot water, food, and books just to name a few.
“You know, I can assign a servant to you. Might save you the trouble of having to haggle with everyone.”
The Mage looked up from a book he had been reading. “Oh, um, that would be nice, I suppose. Thank you, Remus.”
Remus’s heart fluttered every time Logan said his name.
Well, his heart and his dick.
It didn’t bother Remus that The Dragonlord already had a claim on Logan. If anything, that made him even more alluring. I mean, the literal ruler of dragons being your lover and protectorate? Where could Remus sign up for that?
“You know, I think that’s the third time this week I’ve seen you read that book.” Remus says.
Logan tucked his hair behind his ears and blushed.
“Yes, well, it’s, it’s the only one I’ve managed to get. I suppose I should return it-”
“Nonsense! If you like it, it’s yours! In fact, follow me! There’s something I should show you!”
Remus grabbed Logan’s hand and raced through the castle.
“Remus! How many times have I told you- no running in the castle!”
“Sorry Aunt Patty!” Remus hollered back.
“You-you have an Aunt Patty too?” Logan asked.
“Of course! I think everyone has an Aunt Patty, don’t they?”
Logan didn’t know how to respond. Remus continued running, cutting corners quickly and throwing open doors. Finally, he reached a large set of double doors, where he stopped.
“Oof. Well, ok, Logan. We’re here.” Remus turned the knob on one of the doors, and let Logan inside.
“Oh. My. Gods.”
After Remus caught his breath, he followed Logan into the castle library.
“I-I can’t believe it. I’ve never seen so many books in all of my life!” Logan looked around the room with wonder.
“Do you like it?” Remus asked.
“It’s…it’s wonderful!” Logan replied.
“Then it’s yours.”
“Wh-what?”
“It’s yours. Nobody ever comes in here. There’s honestly probably more cobwebs than books,”
Logan interrupted him with a kiss.
“I-I’m sorry. That was inappropriate. I just…no one has ever done something this nice for me. Well, except for Janus, I suppose. But, I mean, he hasn’t done anything like this!”
Remus grinned from ear to ear. “Logan,”
“I…I should go.”
“Logan,”
But the mage turned away, and left his book behind.
That night, Remus woke up with claws against his throat. He opened his eyes, to see bright green ones glaring back at him.
“How dare you.”
Remus made a small choking sound, despite Janus’s light grip. He supposed he could scream for the guards, or even grab his morningstar he stashed under the bed. But honestly? Remus wanted to see where this was going.
“How dare you corrupt my darling Logan? With your… flirtatious jokes and -and your books?” Janus hissed.
“I’m sorry. I-I didn’t mean to cause you-”
“Well you did! I mean, inviting him here? Giving him that library? Are you trying to steal him away from me?”
“What? No!”
Remus sat up, causing Janus to let go of his throat. He took in the dragon’s halfling form. He maintained his golden wings and tail, as well as some golden scales across his face. His nails were actually claws, and his bright green eyes were reminiscent of his dragon form.
He was gorgeous.
“Then… Are you using him to get to me? Lord some sort of power over me? I’ll have you know it won’t work. I’ll burn this entire castle to the ground before you can harm a single hair on his head!”
“No! Where the hell are you getting all of these ideas?”
Janus slid back a bit, giving Remus more space to sit up.
“I… I don’t understand. What is your game then, Prince?”
Remus laughed. “Game? There’s no game! I just think Logan’s hot as hell! I wanna blow his back out! And you,” Remus leaned forward and closed the space between them. “You could blow out mine.”
The dragon blushed. The dragon blushed! It was so cute! Remus couldn’t help but run his fingers over the now pink-tinted scales on Janus’s face. The dragon once again met his eyes, then quickly darted out of Remus’s bed and out the window. Remus huffed and laid back down.
“Damn it.”
Remus knocked on the barn doors the next morning.
“Hey can we, can we talk?”
Janus was still in his halfling form. He and Logan were sitting on a large pile of hay, bodies entangled as Logan read a book.
A new book. From the library.
“Yes of course, Remus. Come in.” Janus said.
“I just uh, I just want to apologize for yesterday. I’m sorry if I overstepped. With the library and the uh…”
He didn’t know what to call what transpired between him and Janus.
“Anyways, I uh, I wanted to know if there’s some way I can make it up to you? Not in a weird way, I mean. I uh, I should just leave you two alone. I’m sorry. I’ll go,”
Janus shot out of the hay, toppling over Logan. He grabbed Remus’s hand and whispered “don’t”.
“A little warning next time?” Logan stood up and brushed the hay off of him.
“I’m sorry darling. I just didn’t want him to walk away.” Janus took Remus’s face in his hands. “While your methods were… questionable, your intentions were… romantic?”
Logan scoffed. “The same could be said of you, Janus.”
“Yes yes, I suppose. The point is, Logan and I have discussed it. You’re a very powerful ally to have, Remus.” Janus pulled Remus in for a kiss. “And we want you to be with us.”
Remus didn’t know what to say.
“Remus? Are you alright?”
Remus pulled Logan into a kiss.
“I’m wonderful.”
Remus spent the next several days with his new lovers. For once, Roman was happy with them, as they somehow managed to keep Remus away from his usual hijinks.
“Come on come on come on come on! You have to see the vault! There’s some jewelry down there I cannot wait to-”
“Please, Remus, spare me the details.” Roman sighed. “Besides, this is NOT a pleasure visit, in any sense of the word. It’s our annual budget discussion with Aunt Patty. To section out how we’re going to spend all this gold to better the kingdom? You do realize this, right Remus?”
Remus didn’t seem to be listening. He was now entranced by Janus’s fully human green eyes. His wings had been too wide to fit down the stars. He held Remus’s hand as they descended down the stairs, pretending his right leg didn’t ache with every step.
Eventually, they reached the bottom of the long, winding staircase. Roman entered the code to the vault, and they all stepped inside.
“Oh, oh my.” Janus literally licked his lips at the sight of all the gold.
“Don’t worry, we don’t keep much of it. We re-distribute it as equally as we can back to every town in the kingdom, so they can spend it on what they need.” Remus said. “We find that the more improvements we make for our people, the more we get in return!”
Janus seemed to be unable to contain himself. “Remus,”
“ I don’t know what you’re thinking, but go for it Jannie!
Janus shifted into a smaller version of his dragon form, then literally dove into the large pile of gold.
“Ah yes. I suppose this is quite like your horde back home.” Logan says.
The dragon nods and dives back into the gold.
“Oh! Lolo! There’s a beautiful sapphire necklace around here somewhere. It’s going to look so good on you while you-”
“La la la la! No details Remus!” Roman called.
“Remus, what, what’s this?”
Logan held up a red gem. Janus stopped and stared at it.
“That? I think it’s a ruby from Frogtown. Hey! Frogtown borders the dragonlands doesn’t it? You can totally have it if you want it, Lolo.”
Logan nodded and turned to Janus. “Is it-”
Janus nods. “It’s lost its power, but it’s a-”
“Fire Ruby.” The two say in unison.
“Huh? What’s that?” Remus asks.
“I thought, I thought you had the last one?”
Janus shook his head. “Apparently not. Give it here.”
Logan tossed Janus the ruby. Janus dove back into the pile of gold, and re-emerged a moment later. He had attached the fire ruby to a golden chain, and was handing it to Remus.
“This is a Fire Ruby. It is the only thing powerful enough to heal a dragon. I reactivated it with my fire breath, and melted this chain to it.”
Logan helped Remus fasten the necklace around his neck.
“I want you to have it, Remus. To keep it safe. Can… Can you do this for me?”
Remus wiped away a few tears and held the necklace in his hands.
“Yeah, yeah I can do that, Jannie.”

Birthday Roses
@loceitweek is back and so am I! This first one is a bit rushed since I was busy this week and was too exhausted to work on this earlier but it still turned out pretty cute I think 🤭 Starting this off with Intruloceit because of Remus' birthday, though it is focused on Loceit, don't worry 💛💙
Masterpost | Loceit Week 2023 Masterpost | Ao3
Summary: Janus goes to Logan's shop to pick him up for their dinner for their husband's birthday.
No content warnings
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I apologize but we are closed for the day,” Logan called as the bell attached to the shop entrance door rang.
“Punctual as always, dear,” a smooth voice responded and Logan rounded the corner to find one of his husbands standing there, smiling.
“Ah, Janus. Have you finished for the day as well then?”
“Indeed. But Remus is still finishing up his last customer.”
“I see. If you would flip the sign on the door for me, I can finish up his bouquet and we can pick him up together.” Without waiting for an answer, Logan disappeared back into the back of his shop. Janus huffed but followed his husband’s instructions before going towards the back himself. Finding Logan in the process of pushing some sticks between a bunch of roses was not what he expected, especially the color of the flowers.
“Did you dye those roses using ink?” he chuckled. Logan, who apparently hadn’t heard him enter, quickly turned around, his cheeks tinted red.
“Well… Yes. Yellow roses I had already and while blue roses do exist, they are genetically modified and not easy to acquire and there are no green ones, but Remus expressed that he liked our colors together and he expressed interest in receiving a bunch of roses after we watched those romantic comedies together and I figured he would like the science behind it, so…” Janus stopped Logan’s embarrassed rambling by putting a finger to his lips.
“Darling, I wasn’t making fun of you. I think it’s a very sweet idea and Remus will appreciate them. Especially if you left the thorns.”
“I did. He told me before that he thinks it’s a waste to cut them off,” Logan mumbled, face turned away from his husband to hide his blush. This side of Logan was one Janus rarely got to see, flustered and shy. He enjoyed the sight immensely, but they should get back to Remus’ store next door before he finished the last tattoo of the day.
“If you are done arranging them, we should leave before Remus goes home without us.” Logan snorted, shaking his head.
“You know as well as I do that he would never. He would sooner break in here to find us than go home alone.”
“I do not know what you are talking about, he would use the first opportunity he got to get away from us,” Janus smirked. Logan rolled his eyes fondly and got back to putting the last touches on his arrangement. Janus kissed his head before moving to start cleaning up the place a bit so they could leave sooner. He helped out with both of his husbands’ stores regularly, while also taking art commissions for his own income, so he knew his way around.
Two minutes later, all tools were in their places, the plants who needed it were watered and the bouquet was finished, which meant that Logan could lock up in peace and they could go to collect their other husband for his birthday dinner.
“Thank you for helping, Janus. I would have run much later on my own,” Logan commented while locking the last door.
“I would have never anticipated that exact scenario and planned accordingly,” Janus quipped, earning a huff from Logan.
“You can be insufferable.”
“Oh, I am aware.”
Laughing, they went to pick up Remus, who loved the flowers so much he wouldn’t stop hugging them until they were almost late for their reservation. A successful birthday celebration indeed.
ao3: “when the bell tolls” rating: T warnings: intruloceit, unsympathetic orange, character death mostly off screen (sorry orange), blood, vampire!orange, vampire!logan, werewolf!remus genre: angst with a happy ending description: Janus is in dire straits when his boyfriends show up. (day 18: “Do you not know that to-night, when the clock strikes midnight, all the evil things in the world will have full sway?” — Bram Stoker, Dracula @tsshipmonth2020 )
"Don't cry," the orange-draped man cooed, stroking a finger down the scaled side of Janus's cheek and making him shudder. "Don't you want to be good?"
No, no, Janus did not. He doesn't know what this man has planned, but it can't be anything good. He's already marked as different by his scales- he's used to harassment, but not this.
Never this.
The clock chimes midnight and the orange-draped man's smile widens, revealing needle-like fangs. Janus pales. Vampire.
"You're my little gift to myself," Orange tells him in a conversational tone. "I've been so thirsty the past few months. But you're going to make up for it." His smile is vulpine sharp. "I'm afraid you won't survive."
Hearing that, Janus's eyes widen and he thrashes harder in his restraints, hoping against hope that Orange has messed up somewhere and he can break them. Nothing. He remains trapped.
"I'm sorry," Orange starts to say, in a patently false voice, before the window by the door shatters and something enormous and hairy bowls Orange over like a toy. A low growl sounds through the room and Janus's blood freezes, because he's not sure if this is a rescue or if he's just ended up a werewolf's chew toy (something infinitely worse than a vampire's plaything, in his mind). Then he recognizes his boyfriend's familiar shaggy shape and relaxes marginally.
"Get the fuck away from my boyfriend," a wonderfully familiar voice snarls, as Logan makes his way through the broken glass to Janus's side. His eyes are nearly glowing red with fury, and he snaps Janus's bonds with ease, just as Remus steps back a little, letting Orange get up if he wants to. He wisely remains on the floor.
"Thank you," Janus whispers, as Logan sweeps him up into his arms. Tears glitter in his eyes, tracing down his cheeks. His arms ache and his wrists are stained red from the restraints.
"Hey!" Orange calls after them, his voice quivering. "Call your dog off!"
"Dog?" Logan exchanges a look with Janus, then Remus, who's still bristling. "Hey, Remus? Get 'em."
Logan opens the door one-handed and carries Janus into the cool night air, urging him to ignore the sounds of carnage coming from inside. Janus weeps with relief when the moon shines down on him. He thought he'd never see it again.
"He didn't hurt you, did he?" Logan asks, worry softening his eyes.
"Just the bonds," Janus says. "He uh, he was going to feed on me, but you and Remus got there first."
"Good," Logan says. "No one's allowed to feed on you."
"Exactly," Remus says, loping up. There is red on his muzzle, and it turns Janus's stomach a little. "He can't bother you anymore," Remus says frankly. "He's werewolf chow." He licks his lips, and Janus's stomach flips again.
"Remus!" Logan mildly scolds, noting the sick look on Janus's face. "Save the play by play for later, perhaps?"
"Fiiiine," Remus acquiesces. "I'll tell you all the gushy details later."
"Thank you," Logan says, before leaning down and pressing a kiss to Janus's forehead.
Janus's eyes droop, as he finally feels himself fully relax for the first time in hours.
"Love you," he mumbles. "Thank you."
"I'll always protect you," Logan says, as Remus chatters that it's his pleasure. Janus smiles weakly, pushing the memory of Orange's face out of his head.
He's safe.
Adventures in Ikea
Summary: Logan, Remus and Janus go out to buy a bed at Ikea
Paring: Logan X Janus X Remus (Intruloceit)
Word count: 928
It wasn’t the weird looks that people gave Logan at work whenever someone asked him about his love life, and he answered that he had two very lovely boyfriends. It was the fact that the trio never seemed to find a bed that was big enough for them, and their dog that Remus insisted should sleep with them, that occasionally made Logan consider if this was really what he wanted in his life.
It was somewhat fine until they had gotten their sweet baby Lola. A German shepherd that had been spoiled to much by two of her dads and kept forgetting she was way bigger now then when she was a puppy. Logan had tried to teach her how to sleep in her own bed, but it failed horribly because Remus couldn’t bear to hear her cries and started insisting that she continue sleeping in their bed.
And that’s the story of how the trio had ended up in an Ikea early in the morning. Janus was the one who insisted they go early as to avoid the most people.
“Imagine all the disgusting and revolting people! Do you know how many people can constantly be found at Ikea! Thousands of them in the same place, maybe even more!” Janus had told his boyfriends the day before their journey to the store.
Somewhere along the way though Janus had managed to split away from the other two. It was like one minute he was there but the moment both Logan and Remus had looked away Janus was gone.
“And he’s already gone,” Logan wasn’t surprised to see Janus missing. He always wandered of whenever the trio where in a store. Just to be safe and make sure he didn’t lose his other boyfriend Logan took a hold of Remus’s hand.
“Do you think we’ll ever see him again?” Remus asked Logan, squeezing the other’s hand that held his own hand firmly yet gently.
A small smile was on Logan’s face as he squeezed Remus’s hand back. “Of course, we’ll see him again. This is a store not some giant forest,”
“Okay yeah but, have you seen how big this Ikea is! We probably haven’t even walked though half of it! Honestly could be anywhere in here!” Remus gestured all around himself with his unoccupied hand.
“Knowing him he’s probably somewhere looking at plants, so I’m pretty sure he’s fine,”
“Fair, fair,” A couple of seconds passed before Remus’s wondering eyes spotted exactly what they came here for. Instead of calmly telling Logan what he had found Remus exclaimed “BEDS!” then proceeded to run towards them dragging Logan with him.
Remus immediately proceed to launch himself on to the first bed. He quickly moved to be on his side, facing Logan, with one hand on his hip and the other under his head holding it up. “Hey sexy, come here often?”
The gesture succeeded and Remus had managed to get a small chuckle out of Logan. “Not really,” He answered Remus, in his typical in love soft voice.
Finally after testing a few of the beds Janus had showed up again.
“Hi,” Janus took his place by Logan’s side, who was observing Remus repeatedly launch himself onto the biggest bed they had found.
“Hello doll,” Logan placed an arm on Janus’s should and drew him closer to himself. “I see you found yourself a plant,” Logan gestures with his head towards the cactus that Janus was holding.
Janus smiled at being close to his boyfriend. “We don’t have enough plants at home, we need more,”
“JANIE!” Remus had heard the voice of his other boyfriend and immediately sprung of the bed towards his boyfriends. He embraced the two in a big hug, more than happy to see Janus again. “Wanna check if we all fit in the bed?”
The bed was soft, which was a big plus for all of them. Normally Janus lied in the middle with Remus and Logan on either side of him and then Lola next to Remus. Lying like this in the bed just the three of them it was easy to see that luckily everyone would fit in this one bed.
The trio had purchased their bed and were on their way out and back to Logan’s car. Mind you he was the only one of the group that had a license.
“Hey, maybe we should get another dog or maybe cat? You know since there’s probably some room left on the bed for one more,” Remus suggested looking between his two partners to gauge their reaction.
“NO!” The other two exclaimed simultaneously.
Then Janus quickly but quietly added “Well if it’s another cat then sure,”
“Still a no,” Logan
A whine could be heard from Janus. “That’s so unfair! Remus has Lola,”
“Yea well you have your plants, doll” Remus joined in on the conversation.
“They don’t count!” The shortest of the trio said as they all got into the car. “They aren’t animals,”
“Fine if you get rid of some of them then maybe we could get a cat,” Remus told Janus
“What! No! I can’t do that, I’m not a monster!”
The ride home was filled with Janus and Remus bickering while Logan simply listened to them. Preferring to stay out of it. But hearing his two boys bickering the felling of happiness and felling like he had truly found his home washed over Logan. Maybe the troubles of dealing with having to find a big enough bed were worth it as long as Logan had Remus and Janus with him. He wouldn’t trade his lovers for the world.
At last, a peek into Happily Ever After's Remus' perspective.
Rated: T, CW: sex references, references to past abuse, minor self-harm as a delusion check (use the camera trick!), swearing -
💚💙 - Friday, May 9, 2024
"'Night, Dads!" Pat poked his head through the open doorway, shoulders dancing with the joke that would never grow old. Last Father's Day when he—and Lo—had surprised Remus with the adoption papers, Pat had asked what he should call him.
"Huh…" He'd sunk down into the seat beside Lo. "I… I've never really thought about it. I… I never thought anyone would ever—" His voice broke and Lo took his hand, bringing it up to his lips for a kiss. "I dunno," he finally said, looking up at Pat. Both their eyes had gone a little watery. "Whatever you wanna call me."
"I could call you both 'Dad,'" he'd giggled. "Always keep you guessing which one I mean?"
To Remus' shock, Lo had thrown his head back and laughed. "That sounds perfect!" And 'Dads' had stuck.
“Oh, Pat! Hang on—” Remus winked at that cute little head tilt Lo did whenever he hadn’t yet figured out what he was up to. “I’ve got something of yours.”
Adorably, Pat matched his dad’s expression and Remus couldn’t hold back a chuckle as he dashed to the closet and fished out a black shopping bag from Digipen.
“Here,” he said, shoving the bag into Pat’s hands.
“Did you…” Giggling, Pat held up his hand. “Be right back!” he said, laughing over his shoulder. He returned a moment later with a suspiciously similar—if much smaller—bag.
Lo sat on the edge of the bed, watching them. “Did you know about this?” Remus asked, giving the bag Pat handed him a little shake. It was a little heavier than the one he’d bought, but not nearly as bulky. "What's in here?"
Lo shook his head, smiling back at them with a sleepy grin. “I suppose you will both have to open them.”
“On three?” Pat grinned.
Remus nodded. “Onnnnnne…” he said, drawing it out.
“Twoooooo…” Patton followed, bouncing on his toes. Remus laughed when he caught himself doing the same.
“Three!” They shouted together, ripping into their bags.
“I can’t believe you got it!” Pat exclaimed first, pulling out the bright blue Digipen Dragons hoodie he’d been eyeing at the gift shop. He’d spent a long time perusing the tiny shop, counting and recounting the cash he’d saved for their tour, bouncing between the hoodie and the other displays in the shop.
Ultimately, Pat had left the shop empty-handed, so Remus had gone back the next day and picked up the hoodie he’d clearly not had enough money for, smuggling it in with some groceries. “Try it on,” he said, nodding with a wide grin at Pat’s expression.
“It’s perfect!” he cheered, hugging the thick fleece. “Okay, so finish opening yours!”
“Oh, right!” Remus sat on the bed next to Lo. Pat took up the spot next to him, head leaning on his shoulder as he watched him struggle to undo the knot on an inner bag. “So when did you manage this?”
Pat giggled with a little shrug. “I told the clerk it was a surprise for you and he helped me get it all sneaky-like while you were still looking at the display.”
Remus’ eyes widened. It seemed like the kid had been watching him as closely as he had.
“And it fit just right in my jacket.”
Lo smiled at him and ruffled his hair. “Very well done,” he murmured.
With one leg hooked over Lo’s, Remus turned so he partially faced Pat and worked the knot in the bag’s drawstring with fresh fervor. After another moment, he got it undone and dumped the contents into his lap. Out fell a bound sketchbook, a heavy glass bottle of clover colored ink, and a package of metal nibs. “Is this…”
Remus’ voice trailed off as he inspected the nibs. A smile slowly spread over his face. “These are drawing nibs…” He laughed as he looked up at Pat. “For dip pen drawing like—”
Pat bounced on the bed next to Lo. “Like in your games!” he grinned. “But with, y’know…” He wiggled his fingers. “All tactile.”
“Aw, Pat…” Remus hugged the bundle to his chest and laughed again. “I haven’t drawn like this since college! This is fucking awesome!” Stretched across Lo, he pulled Pat into a hug with one arm. “Thank you so much! I’m gonna use these tomorrow!”
“Will you show us what you draw?” Pat asked, leaning closer to Lo.
“Hell, yeah!” He tapped the package of nibs and watched the light play over their faces, sorely tempted to rip open the package and start right then. It wasn’t really that late, was it?  As if reading his mind, both Pat and Lo’s watches trilled with their bedtime reminders and Remus laughed. “Tomorrow,” he said with a little nod, tucking the precious gifts back into their bag.
Lo pulled Pat into a long hug, eyes squeezed shut. Finally, he let out a slow breath and nodded. “‘Night, Patton,” he whispered. “Sweet dreams.”
“See ya in the morning, Bud,” Remus said, rising to give him his own hug. “And thanks again,” he added, gently shaking the bag.
“Thank you! I can’t wait to show this to Jax!” he said with a little shoulder dance. “‘Night, Dads,” Patton called with one more little wave and closed the door.
Eyes trained on the floor, Lo sat perched on the edge of the bed, pinching the blanket between this thumb and forefinger and stroking the thick material with a cute little smile. He was tired, with sloped shoulders and heavy eyelids.
Remus set his gift on the nightstand and knelt on the floor in front of him, hands resting on Lo’s knees. “Whatcha thinking about there, Lo Lo?" Remus murmured.
Logan's head jerked up, mouth open and cheeks pink. "I—I, um…" He straightened glasses that weren’t crooked and shrugged before not really meeting his eyes. "How soft the blanket is, actually."
Remus covered his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I thought you'd like it,” he grinned and Logan finally looked back at him, lip caught between his teeth like he wasn't sure what to say. “So…” Smiling, he kissed each of Lo’s knees before slotting himself between them. A spark danced in Lo’s eyes as Remus reached up and laced his fingers at the back of his neck. Smiling, Remus waggled his eyebrows up at him. “I do believe you were going to show me just what got you so”—Lip caught between his teeth, Remus glanced down—“excited this morning.”
~
Not ready to let go, Remus curled over Lo’s body, nipping along his shoulder and up his neck. Lo didn’t move, wordless and gasping quietly beneath him. “Wore you out that badly, Lo Lo?” he chuckled, breathless laughter falling away when he felt the wetness on his cheeks.
“Lo?” Iron bands wrapped around his chest and he pushed up to look into his eyes. He was smiling but crying. “Love?”
But Lo remained silent. Remus curled his arms around his shoulders and kissed each tear. "You haven't…" Lo hadn’t gone speechless in a long time and Remus was ashamed to admit he couldn’t tell if this was the good kind of speechless.
Or the bad.
He sought out Lo’s eyes, searching for any sign of what was behind his overwhelm. “Love, you haven't cried like that since our first time. Are you…" Lo shuddered beneath him, eyes darting to one side.
Oh, fuck! Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck… "Did I hurt you?"
"No!” Lo was so quick to reassure, but tears still trailed down his cheeks. Remus froze, afraid to breathe as he listened.
“Not at all, that was… In—incredible. You were incredible," Lo emphasized, the touch of heat behind his smile gradually melting the barbs in Remus’ chest. "No, I'm…" He took a slow breath, a soft smile curling up his lips. "I'm feeling a lot.”
Lo’s thumb was gentle against his mouth, stroking his lips and his mustache like they were a treasure. Like he was Lo's wtreasure. Warmth spread out from his touch and Remus nuzzled against his palm, soaking in the closeness, smiling at the twitch of Lo's fingers when his mustache tickled the sensitive spots.
Remus flashed back to the day Lo had first showed him the scar he’d fought so hard to hide. And the night Jay had described the scream he’d heard from three stories down when that damned bitch had burned him. He shuddered to think about what that day could’ve been like for him without Jay there and he pressed another line of kisses along the edges of the old, old scar.
Lo’s smile grew, the tension in his hips and thighs finally melting back into the bed. Remus finally breathed.
"Good a lot?" Remus asked, watching his eyes. He was pretty sure he knew the answer but he couldn’t forgive himself if he didn’t ask. “Bad a lot?"
For one horrifying moment, Lo’s eyes twitched, eyes gone glossy again. But he let out a slow breath before his smile grew. "So good," he assured, voice more sure than it had been all night.
“Okay…" He kissed Lo’s hand and curled around him. Staying now was worth waking up a little… sticky. For shame, they’d need a good long shower in the morning. “Good night, Lo Lo,” he said, rubbing his cheek against Lo’s chest. “Love you.”
Lo’s fingers in his hair, Remus could have purred. “Good night, Remus,” Lo whispered back.
If Lo’s arms were wrapped around him, if he wasn’t still… Remus couldn’t quite shake the formality of his full name coming from Lo’s lips. He waited… feeling a little silly at being so hurt from the vacuum left by his missing ‘Love you, too, Meus…’
"Lo Lo?" Biting his lip, hard enough to feel the pain, Remus peered up at him in the dim light. No, this wasn’t just a delusion. Something was up with Lo. “You’ve been a little… off this evening. Looking at your hand a lot, and…” You didn’t call me Meus. He couldn’t quite bring himself to say it. “Are you having a bad night? You know it's okay if you are. We could talk… or not…"
Lo started and stopped a half dozen times until finally he held his gaze. “I don’t want to wake up from this.”
Oh.
“Ah, Lo Lo…” Fuck all if Remus didn’t know exactly how that felt. He bit his lip again, relishing the evidence of this reality, born of pain with the hint of copper. Then he smiled and snatched Lo’s phone off the nightstand.
Camera on, he flipped it around so Lo could see him on the screen. “Look…” The phone’s bluish glow sparkled in Lo’s eyes and Remus grinned and tapped the screen a few times to capture his image. “I’m no dream, Lo Lo,”
Switching camera to selfie mode, he curled next to Lo on the bed. He snapped a picture for each kiss, lips brushing against every bit of his love he could reach. “And neither are you, Love. We’re both real. C’mon…” Remus set down the phone and curled closer, drawing him in for a slow kiss. He knew Lo might taste the blood, might know what it meant. But maybe they needed the double reassurance right now.
Face still drawn, Lo looked back at him, belief and hope in his eyes. And exhaustion. Remus held him close and smiled. “Would you like to get some sleep and see how you’re feeling in the morning?”
“Okay,” he whispered.
Remus hummed to the beat of Lo’s heart as he drew him close, those familiar warm arms wrapped tightly over his back. Good, Lo. Don’t ever let me go.
“Good night.”
~
Lo fell asleep not long after, his stuttered breaths quickly smoothing into the soft exhalations that meant he'd drifted off. His grip around Remus' body never relaxed, though, and Remus fell asleep secure in his husband's embrace.
Sudden strained movement beneath him tugged at his consciousness but Remus didn't fully away until he heard Lo's cry.
“Meus!” Shuddering, Lo held tight, one arm curled around his middle, a hand threaded gently through his hair. “Oh, Meus,” he whispered in a broken voice.
“Lo?" He squinted at the window, the streetlights declaring it was not yet dawn. "Lo, what's happened?”
Lo started to cry, chest trembling as he fought to hold back a sob. “I’m sorry… I… I'm so sorry to wake you… I…”
Keeping Lo's arms around, Remus carefully moved to sit up against the headboard. Lo stared into his eyes, like he couldn't believe he was really there.
"Meus, I had the most horrible nightmare… I… I was…”
Remus pulled him close, letting his warmth, the pressure of his embrace tell Lo he was right there with him.
Shaking and with a sob stifled against his chest, Lo clung to him. “I was was back at the old house… with… with her," Rage simmered in Remus' chest but he just held Lo closer. Hadn't that bitch done enough to him? She can't even leave his dreams in peace?
Lo pulled back, eyes wide and shivering. “It wasn’t a memory… It was… it was like I’d never… never left.” He shook his head like he could somehow shake away the vision. “And I couldn’t wake up.” He shuddered, a tiny sob slipping past his control as he shook his head and hid his face against Remus' shoulder.
“Shhh, you’re safe, Love… You’re safe,” he whispered over and over as he rocked him, waiting until his trembling stopped. A muffled screech at the back of his mind poked at Lo's words, at his fear of sleeping, of waking to him not being there. Of waking and talking about a different path… Remus shook his head and, when Lo had calmed, he bit his lip, clearly and obviously, waiting for Lo to recognize the gesture. "See?" he tried to laugh, showing Lo there was nothing to be afraid of. Kicking away the little voice that asked if he was so sure. "You're really here, Love.”
“I’m really here." Lo repeated their mantra. He kissed the tiny cut on Remus' lip, the sting further proof this was real, they were real. “It was… it was just a bad dream. A terrible dream.”
Remus nodded and pulled Lo close, hand carding through his hair as he slowly drifted back to sleep. Remus lay awake until after the sun had begun to rise, trying to square the fear he'd seen in Lo's eyes that night and fighting the doom in his chest, warning that something, somewhere had gone horribly wrong.
The Giving Season
It was the annual gift exchange for the friend group, but something was up. Janus could tell.
And no, it didn't have to do with his feelings towards the other two in the room, that'd be ridiculous.
What was going down this holiday season?
Also, all the love to my beta, @quillienvii. They were with me through every step of this journey, and I cannot be more thankful for them
Without further ado, fic under the cut!
The get-together was meant to start 20 minutes ago, which meant everything was going according to plan.
Currently, the only ones present were Logan, Janus, and Remus. Logan had been there at exactly noon, Janus dragging Remus through the door a few minutes later. The gathering was taking place at Patton’s, so he should be here currently, but he had gone out to pick up Roman after he apparently had been having issues with his car. Since Roman had also intended to pick Virgil up and bring him to the festivities, that meant they were also short one emo until Patton made his way back with the other two in tow.
Either way, Janus was getting impatient. That also meant if he was starting to feel impatient, Remus was practically jumping from anticipation already. Logan was probably doing fine, he always plotted extra time in their hangouts for the purposes of one or more of them being late. And he was always less uptight around the holidays.
Janus really enjoyed the season for that reason.
That, and how Remus would share the same facts every year without fail. Like right now.
“Did you guys know that in Belgium, Santa has a cannibal manservant slave that eats the bad children for him instead of just giving them coal?”
“Oh good, Remus is already starting the facts. I can cross that one off my bingo card.”  Janus hadn’t actually made a bingo card, but it was certainly an idea for next year.
“Shame. I had his fact about people breaking into noble’s houses while caroling on my own.” Logan’s comment was accompanied by a look sent his way, just a hint of a smile there, one that made his own face attempt to betray him and give a genuine smile back. He was able to work it down to a smirk, and thankfully Logan didn’t seem to notice.
“If you guys are gonna keep teaming up on me, I’m just gonna go outside and strip in the snow.”
“No! I mean,” Logan took his glasses off, wiping them on the edge of his shirt before replacing them on his nose. “We can desist, Remus. There’s no need for our gathering to end up taking place in a police station holding cell.”
“Well, we gotta find something to do. Everyone else is taking so long, and I don’t know why.”
“If I recall, Roman is late because his car tire was punctured.” Janus punctuated his own addition to the conversation with a sip from his eggnog. “Weren’t you just saying to me yesterday that you punctured his wheel before you left for my place? And that’s why you needed to stay the night, to lay low until he calmed down?”
“I bought him a new pair of wheels for Christmas! It’s not like he didn’t need them, the old ones were losing their traction. I just…”
“Forgot he would need the car to get here for you to give him his gift?” The judgment was palpable in Logan’s voice, and Janus would be lying if he said he didn’t get some enjoyment out of it. How did he manage to fall for both the smartest and dumbest members of their group?
Not that either of the party’s present currently knew of his feelings. No, there was no need for that. His little crushes would pass soon enough, and the group dynamic would go back to normal. One couple in their friend group was already enough, and polyamory was complicated. Both Logan and Remus did tend to want to keep things rather simplistic, in their own ways. It was better if they stayed separate.
“Janie, back me up here!” The nasally call of Remus pulled him out of his thoughts, but he was quick to recover.
“I wasn’t listening, and I’m sure you’re wrong anyway.”
Remus huffed, jumping back to curl up on the couch, legs pulled up and arms crossed against his chest. “I get no respect around here.”
“You would be upset if either of us ever claimed to respect you unconditionally.” Logan’s claim seemed to bring Remus right back out of his pretend pouty episode, as he was shooting up from the couch a second later.
“You’re right there, Nerdy Wolverine! Now come on, surely, we don’t have to wait for the others. We can just, start, you know? I’m sure no one’s thaaaaat interested in what we all got each other, I know Roman just cares about Virgil’s reaction to whatever he got him.”
Janus rolled his eyes, all too happy to let Logan take this one. It was always a team effort in managing their friend.
“I… suppose there’s not too much of an issue with that. So long as everyone here acquiesced and we got confirmation from the other’s before opening anything.”
See, now Janus was puzzled. Logan, willingly going against the schedule, agreeing with Remus in one of his ideas? And not just in some theoretical debate the two commonly had over body decomposition and the like. No, this was just going along with one of Remus’ tamer ideas. What was Logan up to?
“Perfect! I’ll text Robro and let him know.” Remus was typing and practically had the text typed before Logan could even remind him to ask, not tell. Well, this was the chaos Janus had signed up for when he hadn’t fallen for one moron and one genius who was always a little too indulgent.
It didn’t take long for the three of them to get settled around the living area, their usual spots working well. Logan was on the far right of the couch, Remus leaning against that same arm, and Janus in the armchair closest to Logan’s seat. The other half of the couch and the loveseat were left empty, but the space felt filled enough, especially with the presents located next to each person. Plenty more were still in their place beneath the tree, but these were the only important ones right now.
“Well, I propose Remus starts, as I’m surprised he even managed to go this long without blurting out what he got each of us.” Logan’s suggestion was probably smart. The ratman was already bouncing on his heels, his body rocking back and forth as small giggles emerged from his crooked smile. The fact that his mouth was still shut was astounding.
“Oh goody!” Within seconds, Janus had a larger wrapped box in his lap, and a quick glance told him Logan had received a similar package, albeit with different wrapping. Logan’s had little test tubes, although there did seem to be some hand-drawn explosions surrounding the chemistry equipment. Janus’ own paper had snakes all over it, but the one right next to the tag had a hat very similar to Janus’ own drawn atop its head.
He would have to open this carefully to keep from ripping that particular scrap of paper. It definitely wouldn’t be making its way into his secret scrapbook collection that none of the others knew about.
“Open ‘em, open ‘em!” Janus didn’t fight the smile so much this time, if only because his gaze was down towards his gift. And… oh.
“Remus, what is this?” The paper wasn’t fully removed, but he had peeled the edge enough to get a glimpse and he wasn’t sure about what he saw. At least, he shouldn’t be seeing this, if his previous statement was correct.
“I found your hidden scrapbook supplies! I didn’t look through any of the albums you’ve made, but I figured you could always use more stuff. Plus, it didn’t like you had a pair of crafting scissors in there, and those things are crazy sharp and good for stabbing things. I figured you could use a pair.”
“But how did you—”
“Jan, I’ve stayed the night at your house how many times? Me digging through your cabinets had to be something you expected.”
Well, it definitely wasn’t out of character, but still. He was known among all of them as being the best with secrets. For Remus to know…
“I suppose it isn’t the worst thing in the world.” Janus’ words triggered a small stim noise from Remus, the smallest sound before he rounded onto Logan, fully turning around and almost hitting the coffee table in his effort to face the other.
“And Logan? Whatcha think?”
Logan’s gift was smaller from what Janus could see, but that wasn’t much from the way it was carefully cupped in the nerd’s hands.
“Is this a tie pin?”
“Yup! I figured you could use a new one, your old one was starting to rust a little bit.”
“And it’s shaped like a tiny tie.”
“Uh huh! That way you can be a nerd squared. Double ties!”
It was silent for a minute, Janus holding back his own comments as he examined Logan’s face. His own opinion on the quality of the gift was inconsequential until Logan’s reaction could be judged. And he had always been hard to read.
The next noise to fill the space was a small chuckle, the volume of which slowly rose as Logan lifted his head. “It is an adequate gift, Remus. Thank you.”
“Aw, no problem! All I ask for in return is that my own gift is a pet squid.”
“You do not have the space at your and Roman’s townhouse to accommodate such an animal.”
“Life finds a way.”
“No, we are not having another discussion on Jurassic Park, at least not while I’m the only one who has to suffer through it.” Janus took a moment to mourn the fact that his eggnog cup was empty, and that the alcohol content was not nearly as high as he would appreciate.
It was only 12:30 but it was never too early to be drinking if Remus and Logan were discussing their theories again.
“Well then, I suppose it’s your turn to pass out gifts?” Again, Janus was left off-put by Logan’s contribution. He normally insisted (or at least suggested) they go clockwise when moving around the circle for their gift exchange; here he was suggesting the opposite. Still, Janus would avoid voicing his notice of the suspicious behavior until after the gift exchange, hopefully when Remus was being distracted bothering someone else.
There was little fanfare to the way Janus took the gifts from his side, passing Logan his while throwing Remus’ down towards him, fairly certain he would catch it. They were both decent in size, but nothing so over-the-top as to arouse suspicion. Just normal gifts for normal friends that mean nothing more in hidden messages.
“Janus, this is very kind. I hadn’t even had time to think about purchasing them myself.” In his hand were the discs for the Ace Attorney trilogy. The two of them had a conversation, months ago now, about the games and the fascinating introspective look into the Japanese court system they provided. When Logan had admitted to never actually playing the games himself, simply watching video essays about them online, Janus had been quick to suggest they could go through them together one day. In all seriousness the comment hadn’t been something he intended to come back to, but as the holiday season rolled around, he found himself compelled. It was a fun experience that incorporated learning new information, all of which was right up Logan’s alley. And if he happened to be allowed to watch and use it as an excuse to spend more time around the other, then that was nobody’s business but his own.
“Oh Jannie, you shouldn’t have!” Remus, coincidentally, had also been given something video game related. His old DDR mat had been torn to all hell—Janus was pretty sure Remus had been stepping on live wires the last time the two had played. So, a new mat.
“I definitely didn’t make it slip-proof either so it would be sturdier and last longer.”
“Oh, Roman’s gonna kill you for this one.” It was true, Roman hated their DDR sessions.
“Not my fault he’s not great at the game. He really needs to stop being a sore loser every time he fails a level we can both full combo with ease.”
“To be fair, you both are able to full combo level 15’s on that game.”
“Oh, I actually got my first full combo on a level 16 the other day!” Remus spoke with such an enthused grin, and Janus allowed himself a smile as well. It had taken nearly 30 minutes of trying the same song over and over before Remus had gotten it, with Janus sitting on the sideline for moral support after the first attempt or two. He had been so happy when he succeeded.
“Well, hopefully this helps you even more, I can’t wait to see your brother’s face when you really start showing him up.” Of course, Janus had nothing but good will towards his other friend, but right now the grin on Remus’ face was just a tad more important. He wasn’t around to hear, anyway.
“Oh, he’s gonna be—”
The rest of Remus’ statement was cut off by a loud thud, attracting all of their attention yet only making Logan jump.
“What in the world was—”
“Ah, it seems it’s my turn to deliver your gifts.” Logan straightened his tie as he readjusted in his seat, and Janus could have sworn he heard him say “although they could’ve just texted” under his breath.
It seemed Janus wouldn’t be waiting to ask about his suspicious behavior, then. “Logan, what are you up to?”
“And what was the thud?” Remus chimed in.
“Please, just indulge me a moment longer.” He was quick to pass Remus and Janus small packages then, identical in their traditional Christmas blue and silver wrapping from what he could tell. “Go ahead, open them.”
Janus cast a glance in Remus’ direction, not entirely surprised to see him shrug and then move to open his gift, spurring himself to do the same. If his theory was right, whatever he and Remus had was the same thing, and he’d rather not have his gift spoiled because he was watching someone else.
He wasn’t as careful with the paper this time, wrapping it a bit recklessly and pulling the box from beneath. It looked like a box one would use to hold a gift card, but pulling off the lid revealed no such thing. Instead, the words “look outside” were neatly written in Logan’s compact handwriting.
There was a moment of eye contact between Janus and Remus before the latter raced to the window the sound had come from earlier. Janus wasn’t too far behind, if more civilized in his refusal to hop over the couch.
The curtains were pulled back quickly, and very prominently, there was a message splayed out on the lawn, pressed into the fallen snow and definitely large enough for them both to read.
‘Will you both go out with me?’
“I… apologize for the untraditional nature of my gift, if one can even call it that, but I thought this would be the best way for me to ask.”
The attention was back on Logan before he even finished talking, Janus’ face for once not hiding any of his expression, his jaw open and eyes wide in surprise. He…?
“Both of us?” Remus normally had a nasally tone when he spoke, but this wasn’t that. No, there was a tremor in his voice, the same one Janus was sure he would have if he tried to speak right now.
“Yes. I’ve come to develop feelings for both of you, and if I recall properly, you have both expressed that you’re okay with polyamory in the past.”
“That wasn’t your answer, though.” Janus felt the words leave his throat, no accusatory tone behind them. Not really any tone behind them. He was just speaking.
“Not at the time. I didn’t believe polyamory was for me, until I started to develop feelings for both of you. I came to realize that in dating only one of you, it would feel incomplete without the other. When it comes to—ugh—feelings, we all know I’m hardly a master on the subject. But I know what I feel for each of you, and I would like to know if this is something you’d be inclined to explore further.”
“And I thought hiding my feelings was the best answer.”
That came from Remus, somehow. Not himself. Huh.
“Have we all been harboring secret feelings for one another and just not said anything this whole time?”
“Well, I was kinda obvious. I did suggest having sex to both of you multiple times.”
“And we took you very seriously in that offer, Remus, truly.”
“As for myself, I only realized my feelings in their entirety a month or so ago,” Logan said. “Then, I started planning this, so I wasn’t hiding my own, per say.”
“Well then Jannie, what’s your excuse?” Remus was leaning against his shoulder when he asked, face inches away from his own. Just the kind of pressure he needed at that moment.
“Some things are better kept in secret until the time is right.”
“And for you that ‘right time’ would’ve been never. Right, Logan, I think it’s clear enough we both return your feelings and wanna go for polyamory. We can work out all the juicy stuff later.”
“That is acceptable to me. Janus?”
Both sets of eyes were now on him, Remus looking with a mischievous grin and Logan, a soft and hopeful smile.
He nodded.
Remus whooped, and Logan breathed a sigh of relief. “You have no idea how hard it was coordinating with the other three to make this happen.”
“Wait, they were in on it?” He was so glad Remus had backed up before he spoke, because that yell was loud.
“Of course, I needed someone to make the sign while I kept you distracted inside. They’re out there right now waiting for me to text them about your answers. Speaking of which…” Logan was quick to pull his phone out, presumably sending the aforementioned text.
“But how were you planning to get them all here late? It’s Patton’s house, and you couldn’t have known Remus would puncture Roman’s tire.”
“It was for his gift!”
“Yes, well, the original plan was for Roman to just fake having car troubles, requiring Paton to go and pick him up.” As he spoke, Logan adjusted his glasses, the pretty pink that had been coloring his cheeks finally dulling a bit. Shame. “Remus’ pranks just added another level of realism to the whole thing, if annoying Roman in the process. I do find it humorous that he unknowingly contributed to a plan he wasn’t even aware of.”
“I’m right here, you know!”
“Well, we can never be sure what that one will do,” Janus said with a smirk, all too agreeable with continuing the bit.
“You guys are so rude. I deserve cuddles and kisses for this behavior.” The pout on Remus’ face was absolutely adorable.
“I’m afraid we’ll have to hold off on that for now,” Logan said, and Janus noticed he was checking a text on his phone. “It appears our presence is being requested outside as ‘Roman really wants to hit Remus upside the head with a snowball as payback.’”
“Oh, he really thinks he can win a snowball fight? I have a whole harem on my side.”
“Debatable,” Janus chimed in, making his way towards the staircase so he could get to the first floor and into the inevitable snow day they were all about to have.
“The us being a harem thing or you guys being on my side?”
“Both,” answered Logan, and Janus felt he could kiss him right there.
“Hey!”
They made their way outside after only one attempt from Remus to steal Janus’ coat, quickly being enveloped in hugs and congratulations from Patton. Roman and Virgil, it seemed, would be sending their congratulations over later, as they were currently hidden behind a snow wall which Janus was sure had plenty of ammo waiting behind it.
And he never was one to go for the side with a disadvantage now, was he?
Sure, the first acts of his new relationship were now making fun of one of his partners and then abandoning them for the other side in a snowball fight, and he definitely hit Remus right on his mustache with one of them, but honestly, this was who he was. This was the manipulative liar that apparently, both of his crushes had fallen for.
So no, Janus had no problems with his actions. He very much doubted his boyfriends did, either.
Kidnapping? I Think You Mean Human Borrowing
Requested by: @languortears
Notes: I'm so sorry I took so long!!! D: It's a bit rushed
Ships: Intruloceit
POV: 3rd person
TW: Kidnapping, sympathetic Remus and Janus, panicked thoughts, mention of torture, skeletons and implied blood, impersonation
Let me know if I missed any, please! :D
Word Count: 1367
“That’s KIDNAPPING, Remus,” Janus explained for the 43rd time that day.
Remus opened his mouth and held up a finger, ready to say something in response before he paused and lowered his finger slightly. He seemed to have multiple ideas, instead keeping his mouth open and looking like he would finally get a few sentences out of his mouth before deflating. It was comical, to say the least. Janus sighed and shook his head, “Take your time...”
After what seemed like forever, one word managed to escape Remus’ mouth, “Borrowing.” “What?” “Kidnapping makes it sound like we’re doing some kind of crime!” “IT IS A CR-”
“What I think you meant was ‘human borrowing.’”
Janus groaned and put his face in his hands. “You know what? Fine. Human borrowing.”
================
Logan sat in his room, peacefully typing away on his laptop. Just a normal day. Nothing different, nothing new, just the same as it was the day before. He actually liked the lack of change, despite his ability to adapt to circumstances easily. Well, he’d usually be able to adapt to new circumstances. As he was working, someone came up behind him and clapped their hand over his mouth so he couldn’t scream. It didn’t seem to be needed since Logan wouldn’t have screamed anyways. Nothing could hurt a side in the Mindscape. He was about to see who it was until something hit him over the head, darkness quickly taking over his vision as he went limp.
He woke up tied to a chair in what seemed to be a basement. There was barely any light besides a flickering lightbulb hanging from the ceiling right above him. He looked around, unfazed at the shackled skeletons on the wall or the suspicious red stains on the floor. Someone suddenly covered his eyes from behind, shrill laughter filling the air.
“Guess whoooo!~” They sang, disturbingly close to Logan in a failed attempt to make him scared.
“Judging from your behavior, I’m guessing Remus?”
“Nice guess, Logan. But no, it’s Janus.” “What?? How?” Janus uncovered Logan’s eyes and stepped in front of him, a little mischievous smile playing on his face.
“I imitated Remus’ voice and attitude to trick you.”
Logan frowned and tilted his head in confusion. “But what was the point of that?”
The deceitful side shrugged and said nonchalantly, “I don’t know. There really wasn’t any. However, I find it a bit amusing considering the fact that Remus is sitting right next to you.”
“What?”
Sure enough, when Logan turned his head, Remus was sitting like a puppy on the floor next to him. He gave the logical side a seemingly menacing grin, revealing his razor-sharp teeth. Logan simply blinked at him before looking back at Janus, much to Remus’ disappointment.
“Is there a point to any of this?” He asked, half-heartedly tugging the ropes that bound him to the chair. It wasn’t that he was making an attempt to escape, it’s just that it was starting to feel uncomfortable.
Janus had summoned himself his own chair, a velvet one with hints of gold. He crossed his legs and examined his nails boredly, which confused Logan even more since he was wearing gloves. “Ask Remus, it wasn’t my plan this time.”
Logan glanced to the gremlin next to him, sighing. “Before I say anything to him, do you mind if I ask you one more question?” “Go ahead, darling.”
“You don’t seem to be lying to me at all. I’ve seen that you only lie around everyone else except Remus, which leads me to infer that you don’t lie to people you like. Do you like me in some way?” Janus froze up, a light blush finding its way onto his face. “No I don’t! Why would I like you? That’s impossible, you’ve got it all wrong. Stupid…”
He crossed his arms and looked away, huffing. It was supposed to be him and Remus getting Logan all flustered, not the other way around!
Logan turned to Remus, “So why was I kidnapped?” “Not kidnapped, you were borrowed!” Remus corrected. “...That doesn’t make sense.” “It makes perfect sense to me!”
“Answer my question, please?” “Oh! Yeah yeah yeah- so, when the others come to save you, we’ll have this epic bloody fight! Or maybe not...I dunno. And then you get saved, BUT we get to torture you until they get here! And it’ll be so fuuuuuuuuuuunnn!!!”
Logan blinked, then sighed, “I doubt there’s anything you can do to ‘torture’ me. Besides, the others aren’t coming anyway.”
The duke’s face dropped as he suddenly stood up and leaned close to Logan, his hands gripping and clawing into the chair arm. “HUH???!”
Janus had been listening to the conversation, even if it seemed like he wasn’t. The unexpected taste of truth surprised him, causing him to turn curiously to the pair in front of him.
“The others aren’t coming,” Logan repeated, assuming that Remus just didn’t hear him.
“What do you mean??! They have to! They’re your friends, aren’t they?? Plus, that sounds REALLY depressing. How’re you so okay with it??” “I’ve simply accepted it. It just seemed to be the logical thing to do. I can’t change it anyway.”
Janus said, almost a bit too calmly, “And do you think that’s a normal thing? That your friends won’t come and save you?” The logical side shrugged, “I guess not. You can’t really blame them.”
“Elaborate.” “...No,” he muttered, his eyes glazing over as he stared at the floor. Remus deflated and sat on the floor, resting his elbow on the chair arm. The next few moments were a blur for Logan. ‘They weren’t coming. I could be anywhere, dangerous or not, and they wouldn’t care. I could be dead and they wouldn’t notice. The Dark Sides might not be able to kill me, but torture is not out of the question. Mental torture, I mean. I could try and pretend that it doesn’t affect me, but I’ll eventually break and when I show my weaknesses, they’ll laugh. They’ll laugh and treat me like a joke and at that point, I might as well duck out because everyone knows that Logic is essential but Logan isn’t and they’ll be so glad to have someone else in my place that they won’t miss me at all…’
The voices around him were becoming muffled as he sank deeper into his thoughts. How much time had passed? It felt like hours already… There was a ringing in his ears that he couldn’t get rid of, considering his hands were tied behind him. In fact, he was starting to lose feeling in his arms. Was he panicking? Spiraling? But what caused it? Why was he feeling this way? Why now? What’s happening-?
“LOGAN!”
The sudden shout pulled him out of his thoughts, looking up at the two sides that stood by him, concern and worry clear on their faces. Only then did he notice his shallow breathing and the tears slowly streaming down his face. Before he knew it, a pair of arms wrapped around him in a warm hug. Without thinking, he latched onto the person, recognizing the smell of trash and about a thousand years of no showering. Wait- what? He was surprised at the sudden freedom. When did they cut the ropes? Nevermind that…
A gloved hand cupped his face gently, the scent of crisp apples and linen going along with it. He leaned into the touch. It felt..comforting. It felt like home. Maybe this was where his home really was..?
“Remus? Janus?” The two sides looked at him, a silent cue for him to go on.
“..Can I stay with you guys? If that’s alright.”
Remus let go and stared at him wide-eyed. He looked over at Janus and back at Logan. It seemed like Janus was doing the same.
“Of course you can-!” The deceptive side blurted out before clearing his throat and pulling his hand away, inspecting his nails that he couldn’t see. “I mean- I suppose you could.”
Logan laughed, to both the dark sides’ delight. It sounded magical like bells ringing.
Never in Logan’s life had he been so glad to have been kidnapped.
Updated Commission Info
Redoing this bc the last one was kind of a mess lol and there’s life updates.
Basically I’m moving a few states over in about a month and my bank account is running pretty low. I’m stressing about like a trillion different things and it’d just be really great if I had a little financial padding.
I’ll write pretty much anything, and I’m being more flexible than ever. The only thing I’ll draw the line at is unsympathetic Virgil, but I’ll write morally gray/questionable Virgil and I can try my hand at unsympathetic anything else.
I’ll also write fandoms other than Sanders Sides, I’d specifically like to try out Stardew Valley, Minecraft, and Dream Daddy, but if you throw something at me and I’m familiar with it, I’ll give it a try. That includes OCs.
At the end of this post, there’ll be some links to my writing for examples.
Prices:
If you buy me a kofi or venmo me at least 3 bucks, I’ll write you a triple drabble or a mini fic.
0-5,000 words: 50 cents per/100 words. (So 1,500 words would cost $7.50, 5,000 would cost $25)
6,000-8,000 words: 1cent/word. (6,000 words- that’s about 15/16 pages -would be $60)
9,000-10,000 words: 1.5cents/word. (9,000 words would be $135. That’s about 22 pages)
11,000+ would be 3cents/word.
Discounts (for everything above $3): 10% off for romantic analogical/intrulogical/dukeceit/loceit/intruloceit, 5% off for romantic moxiety or queerplatonic royality, 10% off for a hurt/comfort fic.
Process:
If you’re just commissioning a quick drabble, just go ahead and send the prompt on my kofi or venmo (or if it’s too long, feel free to send an ask) and ignore all this.
Fill out this form  (it’s super short)
I’ll get back to you ASAP and we’ll make sure we’re on the same page.
If the idea is long/complicated enough, I’ll make an outline, and if it ends up being over 3 pages there’ll be a small labour fee.
I can send it to you and you let me know whatever changes need to be made, if any.
After estimating how long the fic might be, you pay half of that up front.
I write the fic, and we finish the payment process. I post the fic.
Here’s some of my fics for example:
At The Pond: How forbidden lovers Loceit (cannon verse) got together. Also includes symapthetic and chaotic wingman Remus. Read on Ao3.
The Best In Us: (In progress) Intruloceit angel/demon au, forbidden lovers. Nine chapters total. Read on Ao3.
Whumptober/Cult Au: Janus/Virgil/Remus centric. A bunch of whump fics lol. Happy ending. Read on Ao3 (recommended).
Without You: Prompt: How about Janus lying to protect one of the others from their abuser? Read on Ao3.
Panic Cord: When Virgil’s stuck living with his ex-boyfriend Roman, he’s forced to finally deal with his debilitating guilt. Romantic analogical, romantic prinxiety (polyamorous not cheating), romantic logicality, romantic royality. Based on the song Panic Cord by Gabrielle Aplin. Read on Ao3.
Like A Tornado: Dating Remus was kind of like dating a tornado-- only one that loved you very, very much. Read on Ao3.
If They Won’t Love You, We Will: Some Logan-centric angst with intruloceit, slightly unsympathetic Light Sides. Read on Ao3.
A Nuisance, A Terrible Illness: The only one on here that doesn’t have a happy ending. Pure Remus angst based on something Virgil said in DWIT. Virgil is not written to be unsympathetic.
even if you can’t afford to commission me, please reblog this.
Note
For the reverse fanfic ask game!
4. The best ship you've written for: Probably not a surprise, but I really love how you write Intruloceit (of any nature! whether it's pre-romantic, polyam, focusing on two in particular, etc.)! You've just got such a good grasp of the characters and what makes their dynamic so interesting. You are very skilled at picking up on their vulnerabilities and soft spots around each other, your stories always warm my heart <3
6. Something I remember vividly from reading one of your fics: Gosh there are so many to choose from! But okay, one that comes to mind is the moment when Remus meets Logan in How It All Began. This has definitely been the first, most bewildering meet-cute I've read with these two- I love it SO much! The ending of that first chapter had me saying 'WHAT' out loud XD It was honestly great, and I really liked how you incorporated the ordeal into the story in a way that worked so well. Oh, and one more moment I remember, has gotta be when Janus and Remus come home to find Logan when he's home alone during Christmas in You're Not Alone... My heart, that scene <3<3<3
8. What I like the most about your writing: Again, there's a lot I like about your writing. But if I had to name one thing now, I would say the character dialogue. You always manage to write conversations in a way that's so natural to them, and smooth, and descriptive and emotional and it carries your stories forward wonderfully. It makes them easy to read and compelling to keep reading. I love how you incorporate your dialogue into your worldbuilding as well. I think of it as one of your trademarks <3
This has become so long now, whoops- Just consider it high praise for your wonderful writing! I've had little time and headspace to read fic lately, but I can't wait to continue reading your stories again <3
Thank you so much for all the compliments, Lost! This makes me so happy 🥰
Intruloceit are my boys, I love them so much and even after like four years I'm still not tired of them 💛💙💚
How It All Began holds a special place in my heart and that beginning definitely is one of the reasons why 🤭 Which is why I had it written out and published as a One Shot before I committed to the broader storyline.
And I am most confident in my dialogue, so I'm happy that it comes across well! I struggle with more descriptive writing, especially since I'm not much of a visual thinker, so picturing the characters actions in a scene is hard for me... But I'm learning with every story 😉
For this ask game!
