It seemed he was being tested. A moment of tension and intrigue for whatever plot his dear master has woven. Shadow Milk always delivered a grand show, after all! The true answer was ultimate, something concealed in the mind of Shadow Milk alone. He had seen this game enough times to know how it was played. It was merely up to him to make the choice that coincided with his master's whim. To prove himself more than the faceless sheep who succumb to his deceit. However, there were always...unforeseen corrections to be made to any script. Small nuances that could make the outcome more favorable for them both and provide everyone involved with the best possible experience. At the end of the day, it truly was Shadow Milk's decision on what to do with the disobedient girl. However, there was a small, soft spot in his blackened heart that desired to at least try and get her out of trouble and do something that was a benefit to everyone involved. The brat should thank him, really.

"It's simply not like you to waste a good puppet. After all, she still has use. Every character plays a vital part in moving the plot along, and it'd be a shame not to use them to their full potential to get the most out of the plot, after all." To cut her strings so early would rob him of using her obsession with him to his advantage. Surely, he knew this. Of course he did. Black Sapphire knew how much he loved to be entertained and Candy Apple had so much more entertainment to offer. Even with his apparent apathy, using her as a mere pawn or even fodder would be preferable to tossing her away with reckless abandon. Even if it came with a few...nuances.
