the fortnite rhythm game is fun but the song list is very limited. I also know that the people behind RB developed it but I do wish they forego the per instrument charting to regular rhythm game charting, per instrument is so limiting
#fortnite#fortnite festival#i think they should add 5th mode called rhythm and its 6K#and before saying how do we play it using controller#djmax exists so no excuse#i also played the racing game. now that is real fun

What Video Game/ Genre The Hashira's Play- Demon Slayer
a/n: just a silly idea bc my head is filled with gaming brainrot esp dress to impress
any likes and reblogs are always appreciated! enjoy! <3
genre: silly
⋆。‧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚‧。⋆
Giyu:
He's honestly a chill gamer and mostly just there to have fun and make friends. But never really chats with anybody unless someone talks to him first.
He duo's with Sabito a lot on games. Whatever games Sabito recommends to play, he'll play it. Sabito mostly carries him in FPS ( first person shooter ) games.
One time Sanemi and Obanai were on the enemy team and they won. He would be confused on why they would curse him out every time in the chat saying he was to 'easy' or that he sucks.
Sanemi:
Plays a lot of video games especially during his childhood. He would share his DS or Gameboy with Genya a lot during their childhood.
Mainly plays FPS games or any combat games. Literally anything competitive.
Mostly duo with Obanai in FPS games. He would curse Giyu out with Obanai anytime they would be on the opposing team.
Tries to play with Genya and he tries his best to not rage but eventually he does either at the game or at Genya. Ironically tells Genya not to play games like that anymore because people in the lobby can be toxic.
Would get in trouble a lot from yelling so much at the game at night.
Obanai:
Has played Overcooked with Mitsuri many times. He does not yell at her at all and is super patient when they do not get any stars on the hard levels. They would plan strategies together on how to defeat a level.
Sometimes plays FPS games but only when Sanemi asks him to get on. Will type mean things in chat with Sanemi whenever he sees Giyu on the opposite team.
Misturi:
Has so much fun playing overcooked with Obanai and they are so close to finishing the game. Would make comments about how if she were to drop food in her restaurant she would not serve it to her customers or how she would love to make a recipe like that in real life.
She would play cooking games like Cooking Mama or Good Pizza, Great Pizza. Would literally give a generous amount of toppings on Good Pizza, Great Pizza and would already have 5 stars in her restaurant.
Plays other games like Episode or The Sims or Just Dance. Would have the cutest family in the coziest home that she made on The Sims. She would also be really good on Just Dance.
She would also play Otome games because men irl suck and Obanai won't confess to her yet.
Tengen:
He would be really good in Osu! or any rhythm game. Has also played Fortnite Festival and has the top score in all his friends lists.
Duo with Rengoku often in FPS games. He would also have a big ego when playing any competitive match. "I'm a god in this game"
Rengoku:
Plays a couple FPS games and duos with Tengen.
Plays with his little brother and helps carry him in any game he needs. Usually just loves to spend time with his little brother and plays whatever game he wants.
Played with Sanemi and Obanai a couple times. Sanemi would yell in the mic and have his ears ringing so Rengoku wouldn't notice how loud he actually talks on the mic until Sanemi yells at him.
Shinobu:
Not the biggest fan of playing video games on her free time.
I don't know why but I think she could have fun playing horror games or likes playing chill games like Stardew Valley.
She tried to play an FPS game and played the role as a healer and never picked up the game ever again.
Muichiro:
Would have a hand me down of a DS or gameboy and have loved video games every since.
Have played a lot of video games and plays a lot of games that are trending.
Right now he plays a lot of Minecraft and Roblox.
Teaches the Kamaboko Squad on how to play. They would have a realm and try to beat the enderdragon together.
Gyomei:
He's blind but I feel like the kids would include him in an game they play. I feel like he would like playing story games where choices matter. He would carefully pick the choices and actions so he can save all the characters.

I thought you weren’t going to post anything overly sexual. What happened?
Hi, thanks for the question. Sorry for the long answer, but I hope it explains things well.
I put those rules in the Submissions area (basically "nothing offensive, nothing super sexual") back when I first started the blog years ago, and never really changed them with time. They were keeping in line with the image I had of Fortnite, which was that it was a very clean game.
But the game is rated T for Teen, and now with Fortnite Festival I'm honestly surprised with the level of sexual lyrics that are present in the game. So, my mind has changed in some ways, to where I don't think that there needs to be a strict level of avoiding sexual jokes/references on a Fortnite Tumblr blog where everyone is likely old enough to be playing T games anyway.
I still don't accept certain headcanons I receive that I find too inappropriate, but when it's just something silly that isn't super vulgar and explicit, I can accept it. Trust me, there are plenty of things I will still never post on this blog. (This isn't supposed to be Fortnite Sex Headcanons!) But I consider most of the sexually themed headcanons on here so far to be pretty lighthearted and mostly just for laughs.
Also, please understand that I am just one person running this blog with no handbook of guidelines written up. I could accept something one day and reject it another depending on how I feel. I'm not perfect! So, I apologize for any possible mess-ups. I did originally make this blog just for my own fun, but I want it to be a comfortable space for many Fortnite fans. (I'm grateful that other people have fun with it too, so thanks for sticking around!)
However, because you've brought this to my attention, I will be marking all of the more sexually-themed headcanons as Mature on the blog from now on, so you can change your Tumblr settings to hide them if you'd like! And I apologize if I've made anyone uncomfortable by posting certain submissions.
This isn't an invitation to start submitting a bunch of sexual headcanons. Just my justification, I suppose, for allowing headcanons like "Character A tops Character B." In the future, those will be marked as Mature for everyone's comfort, and I won't accept anything more detailed than little things like that. I guess the bottom line is: if it could probably be a lyric in Fortnite Festival, then it's probably fine.

Let's Talk About Fortnite's Big New Update
It's been about a week since Fortnite added its three new main modes, so I figured I could jot down some notes about how I feel about each one, since I continue to play an absolute obscene amount of this game, given it's basically the only live service game I've ever connected with.
Lego Fortnite
This is maybe the biggest new mode added to the game, and at a glance, you might think it's their take on Minecraft. Having put about 10-20 hours into it now, I can tell you it's a lot more like Valheim, sprinkled with a bit of Terraria. It's a survival game, where your goal is to start a town out in the procedurally generated wilderness. As your town levels up in size and complexity, you attract NPCs to take up residence, which you can put to work gathering resources, manage farms, cook food, or party up to help you explore the world and raid various caves.
There's enough content here to support that 10-20 hours, but you'll eventually run out of things to do, given there's just three biomes and only a handful of creatures. Updates are already promising things like merchants, more creatures and even quest givers, so it definitely feels like it has legs, and I think what's here plays well enough. It just feels more like a foundation right now. This is one of those things where, like, it may be worth checking in on 6 months down the road, because there's a lot of potential it could grow into. And hey, it's the only one of these modes that doesn't have any additional fees hooked on top of it yet. That's a plus.
Rocket Racing
Created by Psyonix, this is a racing mode that's a little hard to quantify. The actual racing mechanics themselves are solid: drift to charge up three levels of boost, with a kind of "active reload" system that can almost double your boost if you hit it just right. There's a jump button, and your jump jets can be used to hover over hazards. After you jump, you can also use the drift button to perform a flip in four directions, because your car can also drive up walls and across the ceiling. So, if you jump, push up on the stick, and then tap the drift key, you'll flip up on to the ceiling. Despite all of this mechanical complexity, Rocket Racing still feels too simple to have much lasting power. Some of the fun of a racing game is how everyone tunes their vehicles differently, but so far there's just the the one Rocket Racing car.
Epic and Psyonix could be going for more of a Trackmania feel, and user-generated tracks (the main appeal of Trackmania) are something they're teasing for Rocket Racing, but it's worth mentioning that Trackmania has always seemed kind of niche. It's never had the success of something like Forza Horizon or even Need for Speed.
This also has one major strike against it that Trackmania does not: you collide with other players in Rocket Racing, which is actually sort of a nightmare thanks to network latency. I've run into a lot of shockingly aggressive opponents that treat the game like bumper cars, and every time they crash into you, it's like rolling the dice as to whether or not the collision will actually register. Sometimes your opponent harmlessly slides off the side of your car, and other times the most gentle tap will send you into a tailspin. I wouldn't call the mode terrible, but judging by Fortnite's own menu system, player numbers are dropping fast. It's cool being able to flip around between walls and the ceiling, but there's not enough to sink your teeth into long-term besides overpriced vehicle cosmetics.
Fortnite Festival
This is literally just Rock Band 5. The main change is the way you play notes -- there's no plastic instrument support yet (that's coming later, apparently), so you're limited to playing it on either a keyboard or a gamepad. The way the buttons are mapped out by default, there are certain combinations of notes they are never going to make you press together, because it's impossible to hit both left and right on the d-pad simultaneously. Besides that, I'm not kidding, it's actually just Rock Band, and unfortunately I'm one of those people who struggles to connect with rhythm games.
I love something like Parappa the Rapper or even Theatrhythm, but I just don't connect with a lot of the genre in the same way most people do. This version does at least connect to Fortnite's cosmetics system, so you can have Michael Myers singing vocals in Gangnam Style, backed up by Beast Boy and Ellen Ripley wearing a Ghostbusters proton pack. During downtime where you might not have any notes to play, you're given the option to use your Fortnite emotes. That's fun enough on its own, but it's extra fun on skins with transformation abilities. Going back to Beast Boy, it's fun to watch the camera pan by him in his regular Teen Titans attire, only for him to suddenly be a bass-playing gorilla the next time you see him.
Also included are "Jam Tracks", which let you play specific pieces of songs outside of the Rock Band mode. So if you want, during a Battle Royale match, you could start playing the bassline to Seven Nation Army at any time, anywhere, and even change the pitch and tempo. Other players can choose to join in, adding vocal tracks, or lead guitar, or drums, all from different songs, creating a strange sort of on-the-fly mashup. It's not super deep, but I suppose it's there to justify the fact that songs in Fortnite Festival are roughly $5 each. Festival also has its own Battle Pass, at $18 -- almost twice what the Battle Royal Pass costs, and unlocking stuff on the Festival Pass feels like the slowest possible grind. Too many Festival quests only give 10 or 15 "points" towards the pass, when you often need THOUSANDS for the next unlock. Kind of a bummer!
Battle Royale
As a bonus, some commentary on the current chapter of BR: as of this latest iteration of Fortnite, it feels like they've basically rebooted the entire game. If you've been paying attention to industry news, Epic's had quite the exodus of high-ranking staff lately, leaving me with a feeling that a completely different team is handling Fortnite now. Every piece of the gameplay has been retooled seemingly overnight, from healing systems to movement speed. The best way to sum it all up is that it feels a lot more like PUBG now. But like, worse? Weapons have attachments now, foregrips and sights and stuff, but there's no way to pull a sight off one gun and put it on another. You can only buy attachments at a workbench, of which there's only, like, seven on the entire map.
So generally you're stuck with whatever attachments are already on a gun when you find it, and there's no easy way to compare attachments if you want to swap for something else. The previous system -- which was basically just WoW's rarity system -- was a lot clearer and easy to understand. A purple gun is always better than blue. Now those waters are a lot muddier, and you don't have access to the information you need to make informed decisions about what is better than what. The simplicity that made Fortnite more accessible than PUBG is gone now. The other changes just take some getting used to, but the slower movement does mean running from a closing storm circle is a lot harder in a way that feels like nobody on the team really understood or accounted for.
The main issue is that Battle Royale is still trying to be the "spotlight" mode in Fortnite right now, which means its trying to incorporate a little bit of everything and it's hurting the experience. The new cosmetics locker system is a total nightmare to use, more tedious in every single conceivable way, to such a degree it's hard to comprehend anyone actually thinking it's a legitimate improvement. Fortnite also tries to pull in your Rocket Racing cosmetics to BR now, but only for certain vehicles, which in itself taps into a long standing frustration with Fortnite's handling of vehicle cosmetics overall.
Close to five years ago, Fortnite introduced its "wraps" system for guns that work like liveries in a racing game -- basically a custom texture for your gun. Wraps have inconsistently applied to other things as well. Fortnite's earliest vehicles like the golf kart and quadbike accepted wraps, as did boats. There are even skins now that can wear wraps as clothing patterns.
But cars could never have wraps applied to them. There were hints that maybe wraps would eventually apply to vehicles, as there were updates where they started appearing on pieces of a vehicle, but never the whole thing. Now we finally get vehicle cosmetics, but it only applies to one vehicle type, and transforms it into a completely different car body? It feels half-baked and deeply arbitrary.
Fortnite has often had many different vehicle classes on the map together, between pickups, sports cars, sedans, and hauler trucks. But now the sports cars are the Rocket Racing car? It's cool on the surface, but a strange portent of future seasons. What of the other vehicle types? They're not in the game right now, but will they be? Will sports cars be a permanent fixture of the Fortnite map going forward, so the cosmetics always carry across between modes? Is this a hint that other vehicle types are coming to Rocket Racing, and that eventually, we'll be able to apply cosmetics to everything?
Which is to say nothing about the fact that wraps don't even seem to apply to guns anymore. There's a lot of systems that hook into wraps that they can't just get rid of -- but it definitely seems like whoever is in charge of things right now is trying to find a way to ignore them, starting with the core functionality they were invented for.
Like a lot of things about what's happening to Battle Royale in Chapter 5, it feels super weird, and very divorced from the Fortnite I used to know and enjoy. Their attempts to try and tie everything together like this so that Battle Royale can have elements of all (or most) of the other modes incorporated into it just don't mesh very well or feel very necessary. They're recreating and then solving problems that were already solved four years ago.
Which is ultimately the bummer: I'm not sold that any of this needs to be inside of Fortnite, and I don't think it's going to pay off in the end. It's hurting the core experience a little bit and the best, most fun new modes would have still been fun as standalone games.
I just don't see the point. How big is big enough, Epic?

congratulations . . .‧₊˚🪩✩REO MIKAGE₊˚🫧⊹♡
⋆⭒˚。⋆ chemistry analysis . . .
to be so honest, making a decision on who to match you with took me a lot longer than it usually does. i went though so many options— hiori, kunigami, chigiri, nagi— and none of them fit in the way that i wanted them to. whenever i'd try to pair traits and interests, everything felt really forced and that's the last thing i want to when doing a personality pairing; but eventually i landed on reo! i think you and reo fit together very very well, and i'm pretty confident on that!
one thing that you and reo can mutually relate, is your need to achieve. you're both extremely ambitious people and when you have a goal, there's no stopping you until you reach it. reo knows that you understand that obsession and crave for success. he doesn't feel judged when he's overly passionate about something and talks about it for hours on end, knowing that you're listening to every word he says with an open mind. most people think he's crazy for believing he and nagi can be kings of the football world, but you don't think that. you don't think that at all. if anything, you're right next to him cheering him on; while also giving him a few small reality checks along the way.
for the most part, hopeless romance isn't something that reo thinks about. typically, girls fawn over him due to his parent's money, only wanting to become a rich heiress without actually liking reo for his real personality; they prefer his phony one. you, however, introduce him to the truth that there can be love without manipulation or falseness. you show him how little gestures matter and that he shouldn't waste his time on people who aren't patient enough to see him as he really is. there is a potential love story in reo's book and you're the only one who can start the next chapter and help him read on.
now, you have many hobbies that reo isn't necessarily extremely interested in; but that's not an issue. the thing is with reo, is that he loves to get involved in the things his loved ones enjoy— if you have a hyperfixation on a video game, kdrama, or musician, he's right there beside you to listen or watch along. he loves to splurge on you; aka: taking you out on any kind of date your heart desires and buying you anything you have your eye on— and he's such a doting boyfriend that you can't help but love him for his obsession with making you happy. you've taught reo how to love something other than a hobby, and he's going to show you how thankful he is for that every day.

i could totally talk about how the new fortnite season wouldve fit better as a festival season and how it was actually a huge waste to barely work on said mode for this season's theme and how it feels very corporate to have the season thats literal nostalgia bait also be heavily centric on celebrities but i have to do it here bc if i do it on twitter all my friends will think im doomposting again so i gotta censor myself yet again by posting on tumblr where the friends i do have in here only check the site once a decade which means im basically screaming into the void which is like fine ig but also everyone i know is eating up epics metaverse bullshit and outright defending the shit out of it and thats worrying but last time i discussed that with someone i brought up how it was kinda consumeristic and i got made fun of and that still stings me even though it was a few months ago and ough idk man i think ill just go sleep

Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 3 - Wrecked.
So what comes after literal gods? The apocalypse, apparently. This season was highly anticipated, after that dry spell at the tail-end of Myths and Mortals. This season was teased the usual way, but it also had a strange monster jam tease as well, with them bringing a brite bomber cosplayer in to do nothing but fortnite emotes. It was cute.
Now, the battle pass was revealed. The ones that stuck out to me were the fun brute bomber remix, rust, and ringmaster scarr. Also, Magneto is strangely... there.
We also got a survey favorite- the Machinist. Translated beautifully from her concept art!
Aside from her awesome design, something I really like about her is how she was characterized. Rather than just being the battle pass's main beauty, she actually turned out to be the genius behind almost all of the new stuff players interact with. She's also got one hell of a temper. She's my favorite from this battle pass. She's also got a sister through fortnite crew.
Unfortunately for her, a headcanon that she doesn't bathe went around. Hilarious, but unfortunate for her.
One thing people don't give this season credit for is that this season marked one of the biggest milestones in the Chapter 5 story! Nisha's broke. Oscar's back? Cerberus is waiting for someone. Hope has returned, with a voice actor.
She's voiced by Suzie Yeung! You've heard her voice before. And she's a perfect fit for her. She breathed the life into her that few of Fortnite's characters get the privilege of.
Now, the season actually released. We quickly learned that this season was themed around cars. Vehicles received a massive rework. They were faster, stronger, and 5x more dangerous than they've ever been. These things were ROLLING people. Didn't matter how good you were at this game, even competitive players were being put in the blender with these things. I myself was having a tough time at the start.
Spiked bumpers that could one shot you, mounted turrets that absolutely fried or blew you up, a near endless supply of gas... Week 1 of this season was madness.
They also introduced my favorite mechanic, Nitro. Courtesy of the Machinist. Popping it would mean extra movement speed, and a shoulder bash. it was a really good item. The nitro fists were also there. Movement was pretty good halfway through the season.
Another thing that was cool was that this was the first season to coincide with a festival season. Metallica came to all of fortnite's games, including battle royale. The island was redesigned after them, and they brought in a new item that allowed for you to ride the lightning.
For me? this was an interesting season. Really divided the community, from what i saw. by the time i got a hang of the meta, i was ok with it. As annoying as a lot of things this season were to play around, it was exhilarating and fun.
Now what's next? Doom? Disney? Same thing.

Me vs Everyone: The games we enjoy
Me vs Everyone: The games we enjoy Games I like that everyone hates:• AVENGERS: I like it because of the campaign and the free updates which sometimes include another campaign. The gameplay is also pretty fun (I play as Ms Marvel half the time).MORTAL KOMBAT X: The campaign was pretty cool, and I loved all the skins. I also really liked the moves for all the characters.MORTAL KOMBAT 11: I liked both campaigns and the amount of customization was amazing!MODERN WARFARE 2 REMAKE: The campaign was amazing. One of my favorites out of the franchise.BLAIR WITCH: Everything about it was amazing! The atmosphere, the gameplay, the graphics! The story was great too!JUMP FORCE: The combat mechanics were amazing, the cast is amazing, the story is that of a basic manga plot. I loved it!FORTNITE: I hate the battle pass and overpriced cosmetics too, but there’s more to the game than that. There are several different game modes now that I quite enjoy. The vehicle radio in Battle Royal and the free stuff you can get from the festival pass is pretty cool. Plus, stuff from the item shop comes back every now and then, so if you save your vbucks from the free battle pass, you just have to wait.Games Everyone loves but I hate:BORDERLANDS 2: The difficulty. It’s pretty hard to focus on and enjoy the story when you die in every single fight in the game, not to mention that respawning costs in game currency. ASSASSINS CREED UNITY: The level system and the story. The story was not engaging like Black Flag was. The level system and skill tree were the reason I didn’t finish this game. Side quests make you lose track of the story, so going back and leveling up before continuing the main stuff is stupid.ASSASSINS CREED ODYSSEY: The fucking level system! The story was cool but the level system and skill tree ruined it! The controls were even worse! For the first time in my life, I had to turn on custom controls! I did not finish this game. This really sucks because this is a game I wanted for years, and it ended up being terrible. FALLOUT NEW VEGAS: As someone who started with Fallout 4, NV is fucking terrible. The gameplay sucks and the story isn’t engaging at all once you get past Benny.BATMAN ARKHAM CITY: What was that plot about? The whole concept of the actual place Arkham City is stupid, even in terms of DC. Not to mention the whole thing with Penguin’s lair. I get that the Arkham games are puzzle games too, but what the hell was that?SKATE 3: What is the gameplay bro? It’s terrible! And that’s from someone who loves the Tony Hawk games! So about Fortnite taking over everything...
by: Faint_Kitten.
I play fortnite. I like doing the challenges, I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.
But I have messy feelings about fortnite having only gotten into it last month. Like…I could do a 2 hour video essay just talking about my feelings.
It's a polished fun game, like there's a reason I enjoy playing it. There's a reason it got popular and there is a definite charm to it's core battle royale, and playing as your favorite characters.
But also like…why did they add Festival mode? To sell music, but the record industry and artists want their cut…so they sell tracks for 5 bucks a pop and the battle pass is seperate from the festival pass and it's twice as much with half the rewards. So to get all the battle pass content you're spending like 30 bucks.
Why did they add rocket racing? To sell car shit.
Why did they add lego? To sell lego kits.
Why did they do all of this? Because they have the fucking money to, they (like amazon) conquered their market and they're trying to move into every other place because when you get that big, there is no other way to make MORE money and achieve that infinite growth without finding other markets. Its like "Oh we cornered this market, we can probably take that one too."
Fortnite is a game I have a lot of fun spending time in, and I'll be honest: Someone there cares about art and talent they're making crazy cool shit. The Solid snake event was made by someone who loves Metal Gear.
Fortnite is a really fun game I like spending a few hours in and getting new skins but it's run by a company that talks to other companies and goes: Yo you got a thing laying around people like to buy merch of? Sell it here.
Companies have things they hold the rights to, and their entire shebang is to try to make money off of something they already own. Companies look at influencers and go "how much reach does this have."
Fortnite is the gross fuck bang of these two ideas. It's the biggest widest influencer on the planet and it promises to sell whatever the fuck you have or are advertising on it's platform.
And somewhere in all of that, are teams of artists who come up with lore for the island, and skins based on new characters and they have enough money to make polished versions of their ideas, like the fact the pick is a mechanic, but they also have several different picks, and different animations for each one.
They have a fencing foil that has it's own animation and draws from the scabbard on the character's hip. They have a sword this season, and when you swing it there's a brief pause between each swing, like your character is holding form, that gives it this weird majesty.
Fortnite doesn't need to GIVE that much of a shit about animations like this, but it has the money to and SOMEONE in that company makes cool shit like that and gives it away for free.
It's a fucking weird enviornment. But we're seeing Epic games do what a lot of massively successful companies do: they reached a limit to the "infinite growth" they could get in their market and are trying to move into other games and other mediums. The same way google and amazon tried to get into gaming, or a fast food chain will decide: we sell chicken…what if we start selling pancakes for breakfast?
It is a core game and experience I enjoy, but everything around it is PURE evil. It feels like you're at the worlds best chuck e cheese having fun, but the windows are 2 way mirrors and executives are outside with their hands suspiciously in their pockets drooling waiting for you to crack and waiting to see which of their shitty little arcade games you start spending the most money on.

It's Wild How Good Of A Rock Band Game Fortnite Festival Is
I was skeptical, we were all skeptical right? Fortnite has been trying to break into being a Roblox like platform for other games for a really long time at this point. At least as far as I understand they have been, I play Fortnite near every day but I don't really keep up with the meta game that seems to be constantly churning just around the edges of my favorite game about a giant walking banana fighting Robocop. So color me pleasantly surprised by Fortnite Festival (and the other two games, frankly, but that's not this post). What I thought might wind up being a pale imitation of the Rock Band style of gameplay, filtered through a standard video game controller rather than those once ever present plastic instruments, actually wound up being a fantastic rhythm game. Sure you could argue it's the standard descending notes typical of the glory days of Rock Band and Guitar Hero, with more modern top 40, but when it works, It works. Hell, my favorite part of the game, despite this usually not being the case at all, is playing with other people. There's no voice chat, or otherwise anyway to grief or annoy people, all you can do is play the songs with the other players. The lineups of bands, which incorporates any skin you may have from standard Fortnite, are also a constant source of delight. Peely, the aforementioned walking Banana, and Robocop have finally settled their differences and are now performing in a Florence & The Machine cover band, like we all knew they eventually would. Robocops got pipes. Fortnite Festival might not be a total purist Rock Band game like I think many people still want, but it's close enough by me. The promise down the road of new guitar controllers to use is enticing, and what we already have here is so fun I don't even mind just sticking with my Dualsense controller to play the game normally. There is definitely room for improvement, buying individual songs costs too much, you just know fomo is going to be a whole thing, etc etc, but right now? Right now I'm having fun, and I think that's important.

Forted Night review:
Battle Royale: Haven't played it yet. don't really plan to tbh unless friends want to
Save the World: Bought this bc it was the same price as the battle pass, but this gives me a PvE mode AND enough vbucks to buy the pass eventually. I want to like it, and I do have fun whacking everything with a stack of pancakes on a giant fork, but it's so damn grindy and almost feels like a mobile game tbh. You'd think this one would be fine since I think it was the original Fortnite or something? but nah it's got a few bugs.
Lego: I got through the opening cutscene, realized it looks to be a Minecraft clone, and decided to save it for later bc Hoo Boy. If it turns out to be Actually good I WILL end up playing it for like a week straight, barely eating or sleeping irl. Do wish it could fully commit to making Everything out of Lego bricks tho
Festival: It's fine I guess, but there's only like 10 songs available. I know you unlock a couple more if you play long enough, but c'mon. I've only tried solo for now bc I wanted to mess around with the controls and various instruments and difficulties, but I think it'll definitely be more fun with other people. I'm a bit salty there's a Lot more aesthetic stuff you can get for this than the racing game
Rocket Racing: It took me a while to get used to the controls bc I can't fucking rebind things the way I want and the right stick doesn't move the camera like I want it to, but now that I've finally mostly got it down I'm Really loving it. The biggest let down honestly is that there's like Zero cosmetics for it, and the ones that it does have are just decals or more realistic-ish cars. please I want goofy and/or cartoony shit. that's Fortnite's Thing™️. I also thought there was gonna be stuff like Mario Kart's item boxes, but I ain't seen nothing like that.
#I thought maybe the pancake guy stuff was a amazon gaming thing I'd redeemed ages ago but nah apparently you actually had to earn it#I have absolutely no memory of playing enough Fall Guys to earn this stuff. but hey I'll take it#dunno if I'll end up playing this enough that it'll need a dedicated tag but jic:#Chal plays Fortnite

My feelings (that no one asked for) on the three new Fortnite modes...
Lego Fortnite - This seems like a decent mode. I can see people having fun with this. Especially with friends. The fact that it's free is kind of crazy.
Rocket Racing - A fun little mode that I enjoy in short sessions. It has very overpriced cosmetics, though. Charging $25 - $40 for cars is ridiculous and I don't see myself ever buying any of them.
Fortnite Festival - It's Rock Band, but on a controller. It's definitely a bit difficult for me to get used the controls in this mode. I also wish the music selection had more rock. But good rock, not Imagine Dragons (they are terrible.) This game mode also has overpriced micotransactions associated with it. Selling songs for $5 a piece while Rock Band 4 charges around $2 for theirs shows Epic is being greedy. Also, charging $10 for cosmetic instruments is nuts. Both item types should be half the price that they are now. The Festival Pass is also overpriced. It's being sold for $18...no thanks.
So over all my ranking of each mode would be:
Lego Fortnite > Fortnite Festival > Rocket Racing
