#it has some of the best designs in the series

Oh! Suggestions, canât say I really expected those, but this is super fun!!
Hereâs my thoughts
1 - good idea all around. I think the block the character would represent could be altered to be one more relevant to the series, though! I tried to keep the language consisting of references almost entirely, so good idea with the crystals!
Something like:
X = Crystal = Quotation mark
(?# = Single Quotes)
(^# = Apostrophe)
(v# = Asterisk)
Yeah!! I like that!! Ty <3
âââââ
2 - Useful shorthand! No notes, but I wanna push that whenever youâre doing something for display purposes, the script was written the way it was for the aesthetics! One of its primary design principles is the language being *actual parkour you can do.* This gets muddled when ya use verticals, but for most sentences?? You can literally build a sentence. Iâve put some thought into how to delineate flourishes without muddying or making the language too complex, but if I come up with something Iâll probably release a guide with examples of how to build sentences! (Currently you can just put signs with what flourishes it has and the language is totally buildable⊠but thatâs kinda lame)
ââââââ
3 - Oh! I actually prepped something for this exact thing! â-â for chain blocks! This is preferred to barriers (despite the lesser series-significance) because I honestly just value the buildability of the language more!
ââââââ
4 - tbh! I donât think this is a necessary addition to the system. It only applies if you want to make an entire system of [] capital, as numbers would take the negativity of their first digit. I suppose if you wanted, you could perhaps do:
?vu8[]____C[]__OC[]vu
I believe itâs best to try and use existing things to address a problem as opposed to introducing new things to keep track of.
(As itâs impossible to place more than one of the (?,^,v) set of Flourishes on any given block, the ? becomes a floating Flourish. This, paired with the vu pair makes the ? distribute the every block inside)
ââââââ
Thanks for the feedback~!
So⊠I may or may not have written an entire Conlang based on a single joke in Minecraft Parkour Civilization 2. That would be ridiculous. Aha. Hahahaha. Ha.
*cough*
A Quick Guide to Writing in Parkour
Flourish List.
You add these in front of blocks to change their meaning. Thereâs a key at the bottom containing the Parkour alphabet which demonstrates how the space, 180°, 360°, and 720° Flourishes are used to refer to specific English-Letter analogs.
_ = Space
C = 180° Flourish = 5 spaces
O = 360° Flourish = 10 spaces
8 = 720° Flourish = 20 spaces
? = Reverse = Reverses input
^ = Vertical Jump = Raises Intensity
v = Drop = Lowers Intensity
Block List.
These are the building blocks (lmfao) of the language and are what would be counted as an âinputâ or âletterâ. Also included are short legends under each block describing what each flourish does to each block!
(Note! _,C,O, and 8 cannot be applied to any block other than [ ] and H)
[ ] = Block = Grammatical Value
(?[ ] = Capitalized)
(^[ ] = Impassioned)
(v[ ] = Depressed)
H = Fence = Numerical Value
(?H = Negative)
(^H = Exponential)
(vH = Square Root)
u = Pot = Period
(?u = Comma)
(^u = Hyphen/Equality)
(vu = Parentheses)
I = Pane = Question
(?I = Exclamation)
(^I = Command)
(vI = Sarcasm)
% = Brewing Stand = Addition
(?% = Subtraction)
(^% = Multiplication)
(v% = Division)
Alphabet
a = [ ]
b = _[ ]
c = __[ ]
ch = ___[ ]
d = ____[ ]
e = C[ ]
f = _C[ ]
g = __C[ ]
h = ___C[ ]
i = ____C[ ]
j = O[ ]
l = _O[ ]
m = __O[ ]
n = ___O[ ]
o = ____O[ ]
p = OC[ ]
r = _OC[ ]
s = __OC[ ]
sh = ___OC[ ]
t = ____OC[ ]
th = 8[ ]
u = _8[ ]
v = __8[ ]

Numbers
0 = H
1 = _H
2 = __H
3 = ___H
4 = ____H
5 = CH
6 = _CH
7 = __CH
8 = ___CH
9 = ____CH
Now that you have all the tools, letâs put it all together~!
ââââââââââââ
?8[ ]____C[ ]__OC[ ] ____C[ ]__OC[ ] OC[ ][ ]_OC[ ]__[ ]____O[ ]_8[ ]_OC[ ]?I

ââââââââââââ
Big thanks to my friend PrismaticKoi for giving me the idea and helping me figure this all out! Working with her made this process super fun!!!
Enjoy Parkour-!!! Iâll be coding an English<â>Parkour translator at some point, so stick around to find that!!
All of you need to go watch Minecraft Parkour Civilization though. Itâs seriously fantastic.

CH. 01: ALL YOU PEOPLE ARE VAMPIRES!
You arenât entirely sure when you stopped feeling at home in places like this. There has to be some kind of defining event, some kind of indicator of The Before and The After, but every time you try and figure it out you come up short.
In The Before, not all that long ago, you would be scrounging for the bus fare rattling around in your pockets to get to a place like this as soon as you punched out from your shift at the Speedy Mart.
During your short stint in college, your friends didnât understand your obsession. Music venues, to them, were fun for a weekendâs night out. The thrill of flashing a fake ID, of flirting with the musicians after their set, of getting said musicians to buy them drinksâit was a satisfying rebellion, a fun story to tell people at school and hide from their parents.
But you were there every day, even after classes and graveyard shifts under fluorescent lights, always racing to the nearest show without even changing out of your polo. It was never a rebellion to you. The lights, the thumping bass, the secondhand smokeâit made every nerve ending in your body light up.
You were born in this smoke, as far as youâre concerned.
Maybe itâs different now because itâs work to be here. But what isnât work, these days? Your life is micromanaged down to the minutiaeâthe meals you eat, the products you use in your hair, your goddamn piss breaks. Thereâs no clocking out for you, no gasp of relief that comes after. Such is life for one of Seoulâs many playthings.
Even in the dead of winter, your stylist, Hyerin, has you in a dress that begs to be pulled down every five minutes like clockwork.Â
You learned a long time ago to bite your tongue on matters like this. The brands you work for pay you for the exposure you give them, after all. The chill that settles in your bones from the ten steps you take from your paid car to the venue door will be well worth it next time you count the zeroes in your bank account. At least, thatâs what Hyerin told you as she pushed you out of the car and into the cold.
Wasteland looks the same as it did the very first night you ever stepped foot inside. Same red, glowing guitar sign above the entrance. Same shitty overpriced drinks. Same sticky floors. Itâs nice that some things never change even when you do.
Youâve never been on the balcony, though. Youâve gotta hand it to Jeonggukâheâs really pulling out all the stops. To your knowledge, the balcony is normally reserved for VIPs. Close friends and family of the band, other celebrities, lucky and well-connected fans. Significant others. You suppose you fall under more than one of those categories now.
The crowd gathered on this side of the stage buzzes incessantly around you, waiting for the set to start. The excitement is palpable, and you understand why. Itâs the very last show of Burn The Stageâs very first world tour following the release of their third studio album, and theyâre ending it here: in Seoul. At Wasteland no less, the venue that housed the show that got them signed in the first place. Of course people are excited.
If you were the same person you were in The Before, you would be, too.Â
Instead, as the stage lights go down and the crowd roars around you, you down the rest of your drink and pray itâll do its job and calm your fidgeting. For a split second, the thought that maybe you shouldnât be drunk tonight passes through your brain, but it disappears as quickly as it comes. Your hopes of making a good first impression were squandered as soon as Hyerin zipped up your dress.Â
Besides, itâs not as if Jeongguk picked you for your shining reputation. More like the opposite.
With a flash of lights and a cacophony of sound, Burn The Stage launches into their first song on the setlist. The crowd roars around you, but youâre not here as a fan, so you try to remember everything Jeongguk taught you in preparation for tonight.
If you werenât already close, most everything there is to learn about Jeon Jeongguk himself could easily be found with a simple Naver search.
Not only is Jeongguk the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Burn The Stage, but heâs also the de facto face of the band, and he couldnât be better suited for the job. Heâs beautiful. Like, seriously beautiful. Well-built and knows it, sings songs about love and sex and anger with the sweetest voice known to man, covered in tattoos and piercings that eommas everywhere pretend to disapprove of when theyâre actually ogling just as much as their daughters. Heâs a teenage girlâs wet dream, and with that comes hordes of them using the deductive skills of the NIS to figure out the last time he took a shit. Very little in his life is a secret, whether he likes it or not.
The rest of the band, in turn, gets the luxury of a little bit of mystery.
Park Jimin, the drummer, and Kim Taehyung, the bassist. Jeonggukâs best friends in the world. Youâve met them both in passing before, at industry events here and there, and they both seemed nice enough.Â
Jimin has a bit of a reputation for being temperamental, angry, but the way Jeongguk describes him paints him as something gentle. Childhood friends whoâve known each other since scraped knees and runny noses.Â
Itâs public knowledge that Jimin wanted to be a dancer, before thisâthat when he was in college, he suffered an injury that ended his dancing career before it even started. One moment he was one of the most promising ballet students in Seoul, and the next he was retired at nineteen. He doesnât like to talk about it, but every time the band is interviewed the question is inevitably asked. Do you have any regrets? Youâve watched the videos, seen the way he shakes with anger even as he answers with a saccharine smile. You have a feeling getting along with Jimin wonât pose any challenges for you. You know a thing or two about regrets.
Taehyung is a bit harder to figure out, but not in any way that sparks concern. Heâs just an interesting guy that way.Â
He was the last to join the band, the first to answer a âBASS PLAYER NEEDEDâ ad posted around the city. Apparently, he was so good that they didnât feel the need to call anyone else.
He lives in his own world, does his own thing. Posts very artistic photo dumps on his Instagram with concerningly cryptic captions. Heâs quiet when heâs around people he doesnât know, but when heâs put in a room with Jimin and Jeongguk he becomes the loudest person there. Heâs kind, caring, always seems to know the right thing to say even if itâs delivered in the strangest manner possible.
Jimin and Taehyung wonât cause any problems for you. Jeongguk assured you that theyâd be easy to win over, that as long as Jeongguk likes you, youâre in with them.Â
The real wild card is the guitarist. Min Yoongi.
According to Jeongguk, Burn The Stage wouldnât even exist if it werenât for Yoongi. When the band formed, they were just dumb kids with a shared dream, but Yoongi was the one to set it all in motion.Â
When they didnât have anywhere to practice, Yoongi convinced the ajumma he worked for to let him cram as much equipment as he could fit into a tiny noraebang room. When venues wouldnât book them without the guarantee that they would draw a crowd, Yoongi burned hundreds of CDs and stood on the streets of Hongdae begging people to listen. When shady entertainment companies started offering them laughable contracts, Yoongi found Namjoon and somehow convinced him to manage them for dirt cheap. When they finally got an offer worth taking, Yoongi made them mull it over for as long as they possibly could. Weigh the pros and cons and decide if it was what they really wanted.
If Jeongguk is the face of the band, Yoongi is the heart. Unfortunately for you, this particular heart is very well-guarded.
Yoongi takes his privacy seriously. He refuses to answer interview questions he deems too personal, he doesnât use social media. When asked why, his answer is always that he wants the music to speak for him.Â
Because thatâs another thing: every single song that Burn The Stage has ever released has been penned by Yoongi. To his credit, itâs kind of what theyâre known for. His lyrics have a raw honesty to them thatâs gotten the band into trouble more than once.Â
You finally tune into the show thatâs unfolded below you, the words spilling from Jeonggukâs lips loud and clear in your ears now that youâre paying attention.
ââWell, I ain't got no dollar signs in my eyes That might be a surprise but it's true Said, "I'm not like you and I don't want your advice Or your praise or to move in the ways you do and I never will" 'Cause all you people are vampires And all your stories are stale And though you pretend to stand by us I know you're certain we'll fail
Itâs rock music. Itâs polarizing, controversial, edgy. Biting the hand that feeds themâespecially in the eyes of the executives lining the bandâs pockets, youâre sure. And yet everyone eats it up.Â
Still, Yoongi wouldnât get away with half of it if he wasnât attractive, youâre sure of it.
Because he is. Attractive. They all are, and heâs no exception. He checks all of the boxes annoyingly well. The long hair, the signature smirk, the little silver barbell on a tongue that he seems all too happy to flash at a momentâs notice. Too bad he seems like one of those pretentious, tortured artist types that take themselves way too seriously. Thatâs never done it for you.
Jeongguk is the one singing Yoongiâs words, and he might as well be Koreaâs sweetheartâif it werenât for all the tattoos. He conveys the message of Yoongiâs songs exactly as intended, but he doesnât have to act like an egotistical gatekeeper to do it.
Maybe itâs a preference on your part. Youâve always had a thing for sweetness.
â
â
â
After the concert, youâre ushered off of the balcony by one of the bandâs security guards. Itâs the same guy who escorted you up when you arrived, and you note to yourself that heâs very polite. Eunwoo, according to his nametag.
It tracks, given Burn The Stageâs reputation for making sure the women at their concerts feel comfortable in the crowd. Youâve heard stories about them stopping mid-song to have handsy men kicked out, and itâs nice to know their commitment extends to the people they employ for themselves.
Eunwoo offers you his hand palm-up as you descend down the balcony stairs, and you take it with a grateful smile. Youâre feeling wobbly in these shoes, and the drinks youâve downed since your arrival arenât helping matters. Even with the assistance, you still feel like a baby giraffe as you step down, but thanks to Eunwoo, you donât eat shit.
Eunwoo dutifully guides you backstage, to a grimy, graffitied hallway housing the dressing rooms for Wastelandâs talent of the night. Jeongguk waits outside of one of them, guzzling down a bottle of water as a female staff member dabs sweat off of his forehead with a pristine white towel. Sheâs only there for a moment before slipping back through the dressing room door. Finally noticing your approach, Jeongguk turns his head and grins at you, and you feel your nerves ebb away instantly. Heâs good at that.
As you get closer to Jeongguk, you turn to smile and nod at Eunwoo in thanks. He smiles back politely, wordlessly falling back to give you some privacy.
âDaaaamn, YN-ah,â Jeongguk says, whistling lowly as you reach him. âYouâre going to cause a bloodbath in there.â He nods his head towards the dressing room door, and you roll your eyes despite the heat building in your cheeks.
âI know, I know,â you say, smoothing your hands over your dress. âItâs not exactly a meet-the-family outfit, but I didnât have a choice.â
âNah, itâs cool. You look hot,â he says, grabbing your hand and making you do a spin, forcing a surprised laugh out of you as you try not to trip over yourself. Jeongguk keeps you steady, though, with a hand on your shoulder. âYou good?â
âYeah,â you say, although youâre sure your face gives away how terrified you are of what awaits you on the other side of the door. âMaybe you shouldâve picked an actress for this, though.â
âI trust you,â he says softly, squeezing your shoulder. âItâs not too late to back out, though. Iâll understandâŠâ
You believe him, of course. Those doe eyes donât lie, and even so, heâs already told you over and over how bad he feels for asking this of you. But you donât want to back out. Jeongguk has given you so much since youâve metâitâs only right to try and repay him for it.
âI want to do this,â you assure him, reaching up to squeeze his hand on your shoulder. âIâm just worried I wonât be able to pull it off.â
âYou will,â Jeongguk says, smiling down at you warmly. âDonât sweat it too much, okay? Weâve got this. Itâs not like I have to pretend to like you.â
Right. You wish Jeonggukâs words did what they were meant to and instilled some kind of confidence in you, but what they actually do is make your chest ache uncomfortably. Pull yourself together, you think. Nowâs not the time.
You smile good-naturedly, hoping Jeongguk doesnât notice the way it doesnât quite meet your eyes. âLetâs get this over with,â you mumble.
âThatâs the spirit!â he laughs, sliding the hand on your shoulder around to the other one so his arm is slung around you. You hate the way your heart flutters, despite the fact that youâd prepared for this. Dumb bitch.
Jeongguk cracks the dressing room door open just enough to ensure that all of the men inside are decent, and then heâs guiding you inside, your hands flying down to smooth your dress over again, just in case.Â
The dressing room is bustling with more people than you expected, people you recognize from the balcony and staff alike. Thereâs a fast-paced rock song playing over a bluetooth speaker, almost loud enough to drown out the chatter.Â
Everyone seems to be in celebration mode after the last show of the tour. Thereâs a large sheet cake on a cart in the middle of the room emblazoned with the band membersâ faces in frosting, plastic champagne flutes littered around the room in varying states of fullness. Judging by the bottle in his hand and the way staff members wipe at his face fussily, it seems like Taehyung took the liberty of pouring champagne over his head to cool off.
Youâre used to having lots of eyes on youâit comes with the jobâbut something about the way Jeonggukâs bandmates immediately stop what theyâre doing and take notice of your presence startles you, puts you on edge.
âJeonggukie! You missed the cake,â Jimin calls, standing up from where he sat on the couch. He holds out a slice of the sheet cake to Jeongguk, tilting his head at you as he approaches. âWhere do I know you from?â
Jeongguk removes his arm from your shoulders to take the plate, snorting at the image of his decapitated cake-head staring up at him. âHyungs,â he says, grabbing a plastic fork and digging into the slice. âThis is YLN YN.â
âOh, weâve met before! The model, right?â Taehyung pipes up from where heâs still being wiped down, and you nod politely. âI saw your Innisfree campaign last month. I couldnât remember whether your skin was really that nice in person.â
You watch as he extricates himself from the staff, ignoring their protests as he walks away from them.
Taehyung gets close to you, close enough to inspect your pores like he clearly intends to, and you fight the urge to instantly recoil. Jeongguk seems too busy stuffing his face with cake to interfere, and you want to make a good first impression. So much for your personal bubble.
âIt is,â he says, nodding sagely to himself.
âTh-thank you?â you stammer. Beside you, Jeongguk finally tunes back in.
âJeez, hyung,â he says around a mouthful of cake. He chews for a moment, swallowing thickly before continuing. âLet her breathe.â
âSorry,â Taehyung says sheepishly, backing out of your personal space, and you let go of a breath you hadnât realized youâd been holding, shaking your head.
âItâs fine,â you say, mustering a polite smile.Â
You note that despite his initial (albeit subtle) acknowledgement of your existence when you walked in the door, Yoongi now seems entirely disinterested in interacting with you. He hasnât moved from where heâs planted on the couch, focused intently on strumming his guitar. How he can even hear what heâs playing over the noise is beyond you. Itâs not even plugged into an amp.Â
Youâd be a little annoyed that he hasnât even bothered to greet you, but you reason that he must be pretty worn out from all of the fanfare surrounding the show tonight. Introvert recognizes introvert. You try not to take it personally.
âDo you know Jeongguk-ah well?â Jimin asks, drawing your attention back to him. His eyes bounce between you and his bandmate. He seems to be putting the pieces together, so you glance at Jeongguk, wordlessly passing the question his way.
Thankfully, Jeongguk seems to get the hint. He tosses his plate in the nearest trash can before sliding over to you again, his arm slipping around your waist easily, betraying nothing.
âHyungs,â he starts, glancing at you and nodding once. Let the show begin. âYN-ah is actually, um⊠my girlfriend.â
Out of the corner of your eye, you see Yoongi sit up. That got his attention, it seems.Â
A hush falls over the room, even the eyes of the staff members within earshot widening in response to Jeonggukâs announcement. Oh shit, you think. Please let this go well.
âSince when?â Taehyung asks, curiosity piqued. Thankfully, though, he doesnât seem upset by the new information. At least, not as far as you can tell.
âWell, um,â Jeongguk starts, tonguing nervously at his lip ring. He pulls you closer so youâre practically curled against his chest now, and you silently pray that the way youâre looking at him reads as sweet and not like youâre about to jump out of your skin. âItâs actually been a few months now⊠Since right before the tour, actually.â
âRight before the tour?â Jimin asks, his brow furrowing in obvious confusion. âSo youâve been doing long distance?â
Jeongguk glances at you, a soft smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. âYeah, it was bad timing on my part,â he says, his eyes fixed on yours. Damn. If he didnât have such great pipes, youâd say he shouldâve gone into acting. Heâs male lead material. âI just couldnât leave without telling her how I felt.â
You wish that you could do or say literally anything useful instead of just clinging to Jeonggukâs side like a barnacle. This is supposed to be a joint effort, but you feel frozen in place, unable to find your voice. Itâs a good thing Jeongguk seems to be pulling it off all on his own.
âSo cute,â Taehyung coos, bumping his shoulder against Jiminâs conspiratorially. âOur Jeonggukieâs all grown up and in love.â
âHeâs always been a romantic,â Jimin joins in, miming at wiping fake tears as if heâs a proud parent. He reaches out and grabs your hands, startling you. âPlease take care of him.â
âHyuuuungs,â Jeongguk whines, tearing his arm away from you to whack Jimin and Taehyung on their heads simultaneously. âYouâre going to scare her away!â
âDoubtful,â Yoongi says from where heâs still seated on the couch. Oh, so he does speak. Itâs the first time youâve heard his voice all night. Itâs low, raspier in person than in the videos youâve seen online. His words are directed at Jeongguk, but when you turn your head to look at him you find that his gaze is fixed on you. Your pulse spikes at the discovery. âI donât think anything could scare her away from you, Guk-ah.â
The words themselves are innocuous, even supportive, but something about the way he says them makes your gut twist. Nobody else seems put off by it, but you can tell somethingâs not right. You have to say something, to open your mouth and speak. You have to pull this off, for Jeongguk.
âIâm not going anywhere,â you say, forcing a smile. You manage to tear your gaze away from Yoongi, looking back at Jeongguk. Heâs grinning down at you, and itâs real, even if the pretense of it isnât. Your smile becomes a little less forced in return.
â
â
â
Jimin and Taehyung are insistent that you stick around and celebrate for a while, so you do. You end up enjoying yourself, despite the weird moment with Yoongi.Â
Jimin and Taehyung are fun to be around, just like Jeongguk said they would be, although conversation between the three of them becomes a little hard for you to follow sometimes. They just talk so fast.Â
They ask you questions about your job, your friends, your family. They also tease Jeongguk relentlessly in front of you and seem all too thrilled to find out that youâre their noona. You find it surprising how easily you open up to them, but it just⊠happens. Just like it did with Jeongguk when you first met.
You relax enough to convince yourself that your perceived pointed nature of Yoongiâs words earlier was all in your head. Surely, he couldnât have a problem with you when he doesnât even know you. Jeongguk told you himself that Yoongiâs a quiet guy. Maybe that was his own way of telling you he approves of you. He hasnât said or done anything since to make you think otherwise. Granted, he hasnât said or done anything, period.
Once he arrives, you meet Namjoon, Burn The Stageâs manager. Jeongguk told you a little bit about him, but it was mostly just thinly-veiled thirsting. Now you see why.
He clarifies right off the bat that he already knows who you are, which saves you the anxiety of having to go through the whole routine again, and then he apologizes for being late.
âI was talking to reporters. I wanted the guys to be able to celebrate without having to do any interviews,â he explains as he shakes your hand with a dimpled smile. Damn. Yeah, you donât blame Jeongguk one bit.
After a while, the champagne catches up with you and you have to excuse yourself to the bathroom.
The staff member that was dabbing Jeonggukâs sweat earlierâMinji, you learnâdirects you out of the dressing room and to the nearest womenâs bathroom further down the hallway.Â
You try to make it as quick as possible, much tipsier than you thought and all the more unstable in these shoes because of it. After one last check of your hair and makeup in the mirror, you make your exit, focusing down at your feet as you go.
Unfortunately, you run headfirst into someoneâs chest in the process. Hands come up to grab your elbows, steadying you before you fall flat on your face. For a second, you think maybe Minji had been waiting to escort you back to the dressing room, but these are not a womanâs hands holding you up. Wait a second, you think. You definitely saw these ring-clad fingers displayed on a huge screen earlier. Strumming at a guitar, perhaps?
In a moment of amazing mental clarity on your part considering the state youâre in, you realize that these are Min Yoongiâs hands, and your head snaps up to look up at him.
âYoongi-ssi! Iâm so sorry!â You quickly right yourself to the best of your ability, pressing your hand to the wall next to you for support.
Once heâs sure you can hold yourself up without his help, Yoongi instantly retracts his hands, crossing his arms over his chest. âI shouldâve been looking where I was going,â you add, doing your best to bow in apology without losing your balance again.
Yoongi tilts his head at you as if heâs assessing you, his gaze inscrutable. Man, for a lyricist this guy isnât big on words. Youâre just about to politely say goodbye and head back to the dressing room when he finally speaks.
âIâve spent the past hour trying to figure out what your angle could possibly be, but Iâm coming up short.â
Um. What?
âHuh?â you manage, blinking at Yoongi like heâs suddenly grown a second head.
âItâs not like your careerâs in any trouble. Nobody thinks you're Koreaâs angel or anything, but your shit reputation hasnât stopped you from getting brand deals,â Yoongi continues, scoffing to himself. âAre you just bored? Is this what you do to amuse yourself?â
Uh oh. He knows. He knows for sure, and even worse, he thinks that youâre the mastermind.
âI seriously have no idea what youâre talking about,â you say, forcing your voice to remain level. You donât even try to defend your reputation. Itâs not like heâs wrong.Â
âRight,â Yoongi says, leaning in a little closer, like heâs about to tell you a secret. âWell, a word of advice. If you want people to buy that youâre really in love with Jeongguk, you could try to look less like youâre going to throw up when he touches you.â
FUCK. You thought you pulled it off. You thought you pulled it off, and now hereâs Jeonggukâs goddamn hero telling you point-blank that you didnât. You wrack your brain trying to think of anything you could possibly say to defend yourself, to get this guy off your ass, because this cannot be your fault. Youâd never forgive yourself.
âIââ
âOr,â Yoongi starts, cutting you off. âYou could just cut the bullshit and leave Jeongguk alone.â He pauses, rubbing his chin as if heâs pretending to think about it and then nodding once. âYeah, letâs go with that one.â
Jesus Christ heâs a piece of work. You feel your fists clench at your sides, your nails digging painfully into your palms. You just got your nails done, and thereâs a strong possibility youâll draw blood, but itâs all you can do not to strangle this asshole right here and leave Burn The Stage without a guitarist.
âYoongi-ssi,â you say, your words dripping with fake politeness. Fuck this guy, actually. âI donât know what Iâve done to give you such a bad impression of me, but I assure you that Jeongguk and I are very much in love.â
âHow many times do I have to tell you I donât buy it?â Yoongi asks, voice tinged with impatience. âYou may have everyone else in that room fooled, but not me, and if you hurt Jeongguk I can guarantee it wonât end well for you.â
âYou donât know anything about me,â you snap. âAgain, I donât know what the fuck Iâve done to make you think so poorly of me, but I meant what I said in there. Iâm not going anywhere.â
You need to remove yourself from this interaction right now before you do something stupid like burst into tears. You take the opportunity to push past Yoongi before he gets a chance to say anything else, making sure to essentially shoulder check him in the process because again, fuck this guy.
You stalk down the hallway, feeling much more sober now. Itâs as if all of the alcohol got forcibly drained from your system in the face of total fucking disaster, and youâre honestly thankful for it, because the last thing you need is this asshole seeing you actually fall.
For a moment, youâre fooled into thinking youâd successfully ended the conversation, but of course he needs the last word.
âI know more about you than you think, dollface.â
Dollface? The fuck?
You chance a glance behind you and you immediately regret it. Yoongi leans against the wall where you left him, an amused smirk spread over his face, and the sight immediately fills you with dread, a type of primal panic you havenât felt in four years flooding your senses.
He doesnât⊠He couldnât know about that. Thereâs no possible way. Jeongguk doesnât even know about that. Nobody does, because youâve done everything in your meager power to keep it that way.
You whip your head back around to face front, your heels clacking on the crusty linoleum beneath them as you continue down the hallway. Donât look back, you think. He doesnât know.Â
Youâre thankful that you brought your bag with you to the bathroom, because youâre very much not in the mood for a party now. Once youâre safely outside, you call your car and send a text to Jeongguk explaining your sudden escape. You felt sick, you tell him.Â
Itâs not like itâs a lie.Â
Yoongi loves being on stage.
Over the past few years, thereâs been a noticeable change in his demeanor. Heâs become passive, apathetic to the normal day-to-day that comes with being a celebrity. Nothing really wows him anymore.
He remembers the way he reacted to the accommodations the band received when they first got signed. He was way too scared to ask for things at first, but the label gave it all to him anyway.
For instance, Yoongiâs always been particular about his stationery. The first time he filled a notebook after getting signed, he didnât even think to consider it a company expense. Why would he? He was fully capable of buying his own shit, even if he had to save up for it. Sure, every time he had to write a lyric down on the back of a receipt his eye would twitch, but it wasnât anything he hadnât done before.
But the label guys noticed. Before he even had a chance to buy his next batch of notebooks and pens, he was sat down in a spacious meeting room and asked point-blank what he needed. When Yoongi gave them specificsâLeuchtturm 1917 unlined hardcover pocket journals and a fuckton of Uni-Ball Jetstream Premier pensâthey didnât even bat an eye. When heârightfullyâwarned them that he might strangle someone if heâs handed a gel pen instead of a ballpoint, they just assured him that wouldnât happen.
Ever since then, thereâs been an endless supply of exactly what he needs, always within reach. Heâs still grateful for that, of course, because he goes through those fuckers fast. But itâs just a fact of his life now. Itâs not special to get his fucking Leuchtturms anymore, not when he could douse his entire supply with gasoline and burn it on a whim and still have a fresh one in his hand within mere minutes.
And itâs not just journals and pens.
Namjoon is the bandâs representative. Yoongi picked him personally long before there was any contract, or even hope for one, and if everything were to go to shit tomorrow, Namjoon would still be there. But after the single from their second album charted on the Billboard Hot 100, a label-equivalent to Namjoon was hired, as if anybody could ever be equivalent to Namjoon. Park Hyunseok. Park Hyunseok, whose sole duty is to buzz around Yoongi and his bandmates like a pesky fly and âmake sure theyâre happy.â They quite literally want for nothing.
Yoongi remembers when his skin used to buzz with the emotions simmering just under the surface. He was fiery in his youth, pissed off and ready to prove a point. He felt everything strongly, fully.
Not so much these days. Anger is only marketable for so long, or so heâs been told.
For the past year, Yoongiâs felt numb to the world. And heâs dealt with it, of course. Thatâs what he does. The album did great, the tour sold out, the boys are happy. Thatâs really all that matters. He just doesnât know how heâs going to write another fucking album if heâs got nothing to write about anymore.
Still, he loves being on stage. Thereâs nothing like it. It never gets old, never gets boring. He still hasnât gotten used to the feeling of stepping onstage and feeling a crowd scream his name, scream his lyrics right back at him. Lyrics to songs that he wrote in his shoebox apartment when he was eighteen and it felt like nobody gave a fuck about him. Funny how things change.
Nobody can take that feeling away from him, even if theyâve taken all the other ones.
Itâs been a good night. It feels good to be back in Seoul after being away for months, feels even better to be on this particular stage again. Yoongi always feels keyed up after a good show, itching to do something with all of the energy thrumming through his body, and tonight is no different. Heâs almost giddy with the opportunity to celebrate this tour with his bandmates and Namjoon and then go home and crash. Home. Fuck, itâs a good night. He has a hot date with his king size bed.
But then you.
Itâs been years since youâve even been a thought in Yoongiâs brain, and he liked it that way. Unfortunately, itâs apparently true what they say: all good things must come to an end.
Yoongi sees right through you. He's met so many of your type in his life that even if he hadnât met you before he wouldâve been able to sniff you out the second you walked backstage. Users. Social climbers. The bored and braindead looking for their next toy. The exact kind of person heâs been trying to protect Jeongguk from this whole time, and now youâre on his arm.Â
And whatever, a hookup is one thing. Yoongi frankly doesnât give a fuck where Jeongguk decides to stick his dick. The less he knows the better on that front. But a relationship? No, it isnât real. Yoongi knows that much. Maybe it is for Jeongguk, but not for you. He's never even heard Jeongguk, hopeless romantic extraordinaire, talk about you.
Jeongguk introduces you as his girlfriend, and suddenly itâs like Yoongiâs watching a car crash in slow motion. He prays that heâs not alone, that Jimin and Taehyung have caught on to your piss-poor acting skillsâseriously, you look like youâre about to pass outâbut it looks like Yoongiâs entirely alone on this one. You have them wrapped around your little finger with minimal effort. He has a feeling that comes as naturally to you as breathing.
Of course, Yoongi has the added displeasure of having met you before, way back when. When you had the chance to be somebody, before you pissed it away, to what? To pout in front of a camera for a living? He thought heâd run out of ways to be wrong about you four years ago, but clearly you just canât help yourself.
And of course you donât remember him. Why would you?
Yoongi knows Jeongguk better than anybody. He also knows that thing people say about teenagers is true. If you tell them not to do something, theyâll only want to do it more. Jeongguk may be a grown man now, but heâs stubborn as fuck, and he never grew out of that. If he goes to Jeongguk and flat-out tells him that his girlfriend is a piece of human garbage, Jeongguk will only date her harder.
He tries to control the infection at the source by confronting you directly, but itâs clear the fire that he thought you lacked is, in fact, there, if only to piss Yoongi off.
âIâm not going anywhere,â you say.
Okay.
If thatâs how you want to play, Yoongi can fucking play. Heâs going to make you wish youâd left Jeongguk alone when he gave you the chance.

I just finished my first run of DA4 and let me say- I probably got my money's worth. If one wants to view the experience via a purely mercantile lens. I found many bits of cheese and touched the insides of many angry creatures. But if one wishes to frame the thing as Art- Hell, if one wants to solely discuss it as the Fourth in a series of lore-dense, narrative RPGs, then, Cousin, We've Got Problems. Three interconnected niggling ideas that kinda all lead to the conclusion- for me, at least- that modern design practices simply do not trust the player. News flash, right?
Anyways, I think I'm going to have some thoughts on this subject to avoid other thoughts, thank you.
Full-Throated Spoilers Beyond. And a lot of them. It's long.
Idea 1: DA2 is my favorite of the series. That's not the problem; it's the setup. I know what I'm about and it's interesting characters interacting over time. Flawed characters. Abrasive, opinionated, STUPID ASS ANDERS characters. The story was scaled well for a handful of total losers and it was political. The most humanly political of all the games, I think. That's a very low bar, particularly for AAA, but it felt better to stand in a street, to be personally effected by events, than to look at a literal map of icons and notes and distant decisions as in DA3. It's important, I think, for DA to be about Being, Getting Dirty. You aren't a king. You shouldn't be.
Side Note 1: DA2 is a fucking miracle. The old gag that FO New Vegas, blessed be, was made in 18 months is trotted out to display Can-Do Attitude and DEEPLY unethical labor practices. DA2 got less time, fewer reusable assets (due to a different art style), and had to rebuild most of the engine. A. Miracle.
DA4, on the other hand, has a series of supportive, well-adapted people who have all worked very hard on themselves in therapy and know all the fucking right words to say. They chat with one another with kindness and sober fondness. In the One Instance of interpersonal friction, it is resolved with grace and speed. I find this Horrid. They fucking forgot to give these people negative traits. It's likability slurry. They experience no hard growth, hold no horseshit ideas, suffer no lingering doubts. It's not only unnatural but it's lifeless. It becomes Written. I can see the fucking author waving at me. I've got a note from my run that reads 'Rook told the man who is forcibly living inside his head "Thank you sharing that" and I want to scream.'
And that would be bad enough except the ideas are there. You've got a reluctant father story. Someone trapped between two cultures. A older man, already terrified of aging, of death, taking a Much Younger lover. That's Fucking Meat. I can see the writers straining against something but what they deliver is still person-shaped missed opportunities that repeat, that repeat, that repeat. It's So Frustrating. There's flashes of Good Writing. Of good character beats. But Also- from my notes, a character had just held her brother as he died, inexplicably for a second time, and Rook gives her a little pep talk that ends with him asking "You good?"
And the fucking woman says "I'm good" in response. She seemed to mean it.
How does one- react to that as a viewer? I told a man who wanted to be a lich more than anything to Not and he was cool with it. He never brought up being a lich again. He wasn't even upset. I let a man's city die and he's like I Get It, Bro. No Harsh Vibes. It rings hollow.
Talking over Solas' memories, collectively pulling out the meaning behind them- that was some of the best characters-interacting writing in the whole thing. And it's HOURS into the game. A shame.
Side Note 2: A lot of a loved-one death as motivation in this old refrigerator. If you get a name and one line, Oh Boy Brother, you are prolly gonna die bad. Lazy.
If I'm going to talk about Emmrich, let's talk about his romance. I honestly thought it was bugged. I Am playing through another run as a comparative but Wow. Larian and BG3 absolutely reconfigured what's acceptable in these types of story beats. This particular romance felt regressive, in a sense. Like a last minute addition. The very definition of love coins. No charisma or honest affection between the characters. Nothing allowed to percolate (more on that in a second). Just- now you are ROMANCED. Which means on the Blue Moon instance he has anything to say regarding being in a relationship, the best you can get is a 'dearest' at the end of a sentence. I was Excited by the idea of Emmrich really struggling with a May/December situation but he Doesn't. He has a few lines implying that he Could but it leads nowhere.
And they fuck in a coffin (???) and it's not even hot (!!!). Unforgivable. Double Unforgivable. I heard there was spice in this game? This is baking soda.
Related, a few lines awkwardly dodged the question of Emmrich's previous relationships and I have an inkling, without experiencing the other romances, that this is the world's largest case of gun-shy after the backlash with DA3's non-playersexual romances. This man can not be confirmed to be Anything but Into Rook, whatever they might be. There was also a throwaway line with Taash how she prefers women and that's as much as I saw of explicit preferences. I don't envy anyone trying to address the rabidity of fandom but it feels like unnecessary acrobatics.
Side Oh No: It's so bad that I'm honestly thinking of doing a fixit fic regarding the romance/character writing. And God, I can't right now. I have to finish my other project first.
Idea 2: The pacing. That's what ruins so much. There was a scene of a gnarled, fucked-up gate, torn from its hinges. And my guy says "Something Big must have torn apart that gate" all ominous, building a sense of- Nope. The very big darkspawn is standing ten feet away on the other side. I hadn't even swung the camera around the hall to see it before my guy goes "That big darkspawn must have torn apart the gate!"
Yes, I know there's an issue in open world games these days wherein devs are allergic to a player's millisecond of not knowing where to go but this feels applicable across the whole game. A problem isn't allowed to fester. It is brought to attention and then swiftly dealt with. If there's a locked door, a difficult decision, a feeling beyond Protestant determination, it will be dealt with, Post Fucking Haste. It's like the game doesn't trust the player to hold tension.
This happens not just in barks or small set pieces. Whole arcs work this way. Like Harding's longterm personal quest. She gets a handful of lines about feeling vaguely angry or perhaps thinking she Should be More angry about Lore Dump Retcon and then at her culmination, she's fighting her own anger. A vicious, hot, searing thing- and it wasn't earned. At all. There was room to telegraph this theme, bury it in the dirt to let grow roots. They didn't. One Line was given about her people pleasing tendencies And she's not really shown to be people pleasing to her own detriment. This is Chekhov's Gun in running shoes. It doesn't work. It feels like it comes out of left field.
Hell, there was a mission that was like SURVIVE IF YOU CAN and it was like- literally a long hallway. The Pacing is all Off.
Idea 3: I don't like that I must do this but DA4 doesn't understand its own flavor. The One Thing you Cannot Do is have Minrathous, the city of slaves and blood mages, seem nice. Particularly in the poor parts of town. You Cannot have the Crows be a lovely dovey band of scamps. You Cannot have the Blight be reversible. You Cannot CANNOT say "elves have it pretty good" as my Elvish Rook said with his face flaps. No. NO. You Cannot side-step the politics of this setting. These are the bones on which these characters are hung. To lessen the world is to lessen, to decomplexify them.
You know what my elf didn't hear in the town that canonically trades in bodies that look his? Knife ear. Eh to fantasy slurs but my point is no one said a cross word to my guy. The Qunari living in the town that had been warring with the Qunari for Centuries seemed totes fine. There were no alienages. There were no proper templars- even from other regions. No Mage Circles. No mage issues at all. Hardly anything whatsoever regarding the Chantry or Andrastianism, even as the game takes place in the Super Anti-Pope town. I had a literal demon-possessed man in my party and the world did not react.
I had a friend describe this Thedas as feeling smoothed out and Yeah. It feels like all the nasty bumps have been deemed undesirable. I don't know what to make of it. Is this simply taking the world in a different direction? Is it a mandate to tone down the unpleasantness, for sales? A shift in design ethos? Is this a sign of a very troubled project as it was with Andromeda?
I don't know. Is this still a Dragon Age game without its politics? There's enough here for me to wonder if Bioware is even Bioware anymore. There's a TREMENDOUS amount of work, of skill in DA4. Just Absurd. The environments are thick, Thicc. But work alone is not a virtue. Have we ship of Theseus'd so far that the people- the real people, not the logos- who have interests aligned with what made DA1 special are no longer there? Something went wrong with this project, narratively. Something I don't know how to fix without addressing basement level assumptions I'm clearly not privy to. I hope they can.
Final Thoughts: Game development is a fucking hole into which one pours one's relationships, time, and health, physical, mental both. It gives satisfaction very rarely. They shipped. In that way, huge success. It's not even, fundamentally, a 'bad game'. But it is a victim of a modern philosophy of pre-chewed ideas and player distrust. VGs are ultimately a business and, in these last few years, there's been a unimaginable devastation to the workers in the industry- even as the money flows ever upward. The desire to sell well has morphed into a NEED to sell well, even among the 'kept' studios. Big studios, Grand Dame Studios sitting on top of past critical and financial successes, been killed by their overlords recently. No one is safe. It's suddenly quite dangerous for large studios to make anything remotely niche, remotely unclear and Bioware has both Andromeda And Anthem under its belt. They're probably feeling the pinch. They needed a hit and hits, these days, are increasingly smooth. And DA4 is very smooth.
That's just my feeling on the matter. I'll see what a second run yields.
Smaller thoughts:
I don't care about the combat but that was- odd. The illusion of depth with all the skill trees and types of damage and subsystems of attack- all boiling down to a one button push. It's odd. I played rogue on PC so perhaps it's different for other classes, on console. But I pressed the button at the man and when I got a halo, I pressed another button and then pressed the first button again. No matter where I was on the skill tree, it never changed, never felt different. I don't know. It felt. Odd?
There was a Honest To God "It's quiet- Too quiet" and it just Happened. I would have pulled out every one of my teeth to avoid that. I get the jokey-okey but fuck, man.
Where's the chest hair? WHERE? Body hair? ANYTHING? Davrin has plastic chest. It's freaky.
Gloom Howler Gloom Howler Gloom Howler. Frankly, that whole storyline had a large gulg of the farcical. I laughed my ass entirely off when, upon her defeat, the Gloom Howler said "I'm sorry" and took a nap so hard that the scene wiped to 'some time later'. That was insane editing. PACING. And- naming. Gloom Howler. Gloom. Howler.
Teeth. Dear God, the teeth.
The devs were in a real pickle here, no doubt. My great sympathies. There's an Overwhelming abundance of world states that DA3 could have left on the board and I understand the balancing act between acknowledging the events of older games and staying generic enough DA4 could apply to All of them. Is Cassandra the White Divine? Or is Leliana? It's a nightmare of choices. Any of the people that Could be Divine can not be mentioned without lore issues. Who's on the throne in Orlais? Ferelden? Where's beloved so-and-so? Dorian canonically did return to Minrathous so he can 'safely' appear in game- but he fucking can't talk about Iron Bull, who may or may not be alive. Isabela canonically goes back to piracy but she can't talk about events in Kirkwall because she may not have been there for them. Oof. That's not a lot you are Allowed to acknowledge. The Poor Bastards.
Watched a braid slip off a person's shoulder, organically, as they were talking. Started at the bottom and look where we're at, technologically. And speaking on the technical, a lot of textures didn't load right. For the entire game, my guy's left shoulder armour thing had a much lower rez texture than the rest. Three hard crashes, which isn't the worst. One Wonderful mission wherein Lucanis' hair and his knives were the only bits of him to render.
I'm not touching the non-binary storyline. It was clunky, for sure, but the greatest sin was using Our words. There is canonical words for NGC/NB people in fiction and to not use them shows a fundamental distrust towards the source material and the players both. It's the linguistic version of the quest marker or the barks telling you where to go.
I still don't know how I feel about the dead Varric twist. Feels goofball but he got to hang out in his little pajamas. I wish I was in little pajamas.
Solas was pretty fucking tight but I think a lot of that was due to his VA. Something about the voice direction, in general, felt- flat? But old Solas was doing it good.
Ending. God, I get it. People are tired and satisfying endings are hard. And DLC exists, more cynically. But Hells Bells, I'm getting to the point wherein even the slideshow is annoying. Give me a fucking Ending to the Choice Game. Don't you fucking 'Spider-Man Will Return' at me, you bastard. I'm a child of fucking god.
Yes, I got the secret ending. I know. That was Also bullshit.
I feel better getting that all out of my system. Thank you for sharing that.

Yea idk how I haven't shared them here yet but here's some doodles of Tabitha and "Apathy" (she ain't got a name yet), the two protags of my ghost story!
Grieving after the sudden loss of her grandmother, Apathy accidentally becomes bound to the spirit of Tabitha, a young girl who was murdered in the 1870s. Stuck together in unfamiliar circumstances, the two must discover how to send Tabitha on to the afterlife, and if they even can.
UPDATEEEEEEEEE Apathy's name is Naomi :)
#i draw tabitha all cheery usually but she has a very very rough time at the start#very vengeful and confused and inconsolable and angry#as one would be if they were murdered#the first drawing was a couple months ago but the last drawing was from maybe like a year and a half ago?#so they look a lil different#i change their designs slightly every time i draw them lol#but yea i imagine this as an animated series!#its a love letter to the PNW (my home baybey) as well as like. my attempt to utilize the vehicle of horror for character exploration#if u know i love midnight mass and haunting of hill house then the mike flanagan jumps out immediately lmao#tabitha bennett#naomi evans#ghost girl story#i dont have a name for any of my stories either#i thought maybe of calling it 'mortis operandi'#but idk what their usual way of doing things would be to make the modus operandi part of the title make sense lol#also the tagline would be something like 'life after death for those who have lost someone and those who were lost'#so then i thought of calling it something like 'those who were lost' but ghosts are kinda a rarity in this universe so#it feels like that shouldnt be the focus of the title#idk im REALLY bad with titles#i think the character writing for these lil dudes that currently only exists in my brain is some of the best ive done tho#grabs u by the shoulders: talk to me about the irony that tabitha teaches apathy how to feel alive again despite being the one who's dead#my art#ocs

the journey of gordon juniperus gresley (and still ongoing)
#thomas the tank engine#thomas and friends#ttte gordon#senjart#casa tidmouth#casa tidmouth act 2#my everything. godddd I love him so so much#he's like. objectively the best character in the whole series#also I think he and scott were really close as kids#esp. with only one year age difference and how scott continuously supported him despite their family's situation#(imo their rivalry in tgr was one sided from gordon's part. scott's just balling while gordon still wants to overpass him)#like ok. I know this is a post about gordon but I think scott needs some appreciation with how he prioritizes his brother over himself#bro's probably emotionally devastated too with losing his siblings and father. but he still has his little brother#gordon probably felt like he owes scott a lot. but he's bad at words (ALL gresleys are) and he has his own set of problems SOOOOOO#and gordon. even though he lost so many people in his life he still keeps on going. he never gives up because-#-despite how much he complaints and boasts about himself he firmly believes that things will eventually turn out okay for him#aggresive optimist. something like that? you get what I'm trying to say#like a coworker would say ''this is hopeless'' and gordon would just say ''you're being ridiculous''#anyways enough of me talking. I wanna draw scott's and gordon's railway show designs BUT WHEN? LET'S SEE#(crying at little gordon. it shows from his eyes that he has no idea what's about to happen to him)

1) cool design + good story + best characterization in the whole series + neat lore yadda yadda yadda this is the boring stuff
2) fire cat

5) blaze it heheh
6) just look at her
#sth#sonic#blaze the cat#prin posts#sonic posting#okay but no joke she is legitimately the coolest character in the entire series#she has one of the best designs both standalone and as sonics counterpart#her personality also works well as a standalone#and as a counterpart to sonic#(also marines works well standalone and as a counterpart to tails but thats a different conversation)#her powerset is also just fucking rad#the rush games have some of the strongest stories in the entire series#and definitely have the best music#i need to make a blaze essay and post it on tumblr fr#also shes a minor enough character that while it is sad that she doesnt show up too much but also she avoided bad characterization#shes so fucking COOL i could go on for hours about her#OH AND ALSO ONLY GIRL IN THE SERIES TO GET A SUPER FORM#AND TO BE ABLE TO TIE WITH SONIC IN A FIGHT#blaze the cat you are a QUEEN

Welcome back to tumblr! Hope you enjoyed your break
It was very stressful. Ended up failing the marking period for English, but not by as much as I was failing before. Could still pull up the overall grade by the end of the semester.
#started writing a fic a few days ago. been a while since ive done that.#so far felix is very out of character but he's only gonna be the focus for the first chapter. plus i might go back and rewrite him.#maybe i should wait until the new chapter comes out tho so it's relevant to updated canon#anyway echos started brainrotting about chris in a /pos way so yeah a lot of my break has been rethinking old analysis#started to notice that he's a lot more fun if i get in the mindset that he's not poorly written he's just literally isaac's antagonist#also my siblings have been hyperfixating on DC so i watched a batman series. i think they're very disappointed in me for choosing batwheels.#snowy best vehicle#. what else#oh ive been doodling a nightmare design#been liking the idea of him and dream not being skeletons but dont wanna draw/write them as their canon human designs#because (if i'm correct) they get those designs at some point later in the story. and i don't want to confuse the timeline like that.#so ive been working on concept sketches for a less human design for them. ive also noticed that them being humans in canon actually#makes a lot of sense because the other guardians don't really have any connection between their species and it can be assumed that#whatever they are exists in the universes/multiverse they're from. so it makes sense for the twins to be humans because the utmv has humans.#. but i also like how they couldn't be given the human forms at first because of the lack of holes.#so the design im working on has gill/stripe-looking vents for the energy to come out of.#also gonna try to add little fire wisps into the design because i love their true forms so much#anyway i dont think there's been more that ive done. other than schoolwork. and watching qsmp.#oh i started working on an animatic. but i do that all the time. it'll be a bigger occasion if i finish one lol.#think im gonna still keep interaction on tumblr to a smaller scale because i wanna keep getting stuff done

Can't afford art school?
After seeing post like this đ
And this gem đ
As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.
Here is the first one ART TEACHERS! There are plenty online and in places like youtube.
đșHere is my list:
Proko (Free, mostly teaches anatomy and how to draw people. But does have art talks and teaches the basics.)
Marc Brunet (Free but he does have other classes for a cheap price. Use to work for Blizzard and teaches you everything)
Aaron Rutten (free, tips about art, talks about art programs and the best products for digital art)
BoroCG (free, teaches a verity of art mediums from 3D modeling to digital painting. As well as some tips that can be used across styles)
Jesse J. Jones (free, talks about animating)
Jesus Conde (free, teaches digital painting and has classes in Spanish)
Mohammed Agbadi (free, he gives some advice in some videos and talks about art)
Ross Draws (free, he does have other classes for a good price. Mostly teaching character designs and simple backgrounds.)
SamDoesArts (free, gives good advice and critiques)
Drawfee Show (free, they do give some good advice and great inspiration)
The Art of Aaron Blaise ( useful tips for digital art and animation. Was an animator for Disney. Mostly nature art)
Bobby Chiu ( useful tips and interviews with artist who are in the industry or making a living as artist)
Sinix Design (has some tips on drawing people)
Winged canvas (art school for free on a verity of mediums)
Bob Ross (just a good time, learn how to paint, as well as how too relax when doing art. "there are no mistakes only happy accidents", this channel also provides tips from another artist)
Scott Christian Sava (Inspiration and provides tips and advice)
Pikat (art advice and critiques)
Drawbox (a suggested cheap online art school, made of a community of artist)
Skillshare (A cheap learning site that has art classes ranging from traditional to digital. As well as Animation and tutorials on art programs. All under one price, in the USA it's around $34 a month)
Human anatomy for artist (not a video or teacher but the site is full of awesome refs to practice and get better at anatomy)
Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.
đHere is my list:
The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.
đAs for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. If you want to go fancy Michaels is always a good place for traditional supplies. They also get in some good sales and discounts. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are usually more expensive.
For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.
đ»As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.
Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates. Galaxy, Windows, macOS, iPad, iPhone, Android, or Chromebook device. )
Procreate ( pay once for $9.99 usd, IPAD & IPHONE ONLY)
Blender (for 3D modules/sculpting, animation and more. Free)
PaintTool SAI (pay but has a 31 day free trail)
Krita (Free)
mypaint (free)
FireAlpaca (free)
Aseprite ($19.99 usd but has a free trail, for pixel art Windows & macOS)
Drawpile (free and for if you want to draw with others)
IbisPaint (free, phone app ONLY)
Medibang (free, IPAD, Android and PC)
NOTE: Some of these can work on almost any computer like Clip and Sai but others will require a bit stronger computer like Blender. Please check their sites for if your computer is compatible.
So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.
I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.
Hope this was helpful and have a great day.
"also apologies for any spelling or grammar errors, I have Dyslexia and it makes my brain go XP when it comes to speech or writing"
