I think I am still really struggling with this JD issue and how it really feels like people are giving him and Nic a lot more grace vs what they’ve given Luke and co. I’ve not been around this fandom nearly as long, so I very much might be missing something, but it really does seem like there are a lot of similarities between what A and JD have posted about L&N. Like, I’m not trying to be difficult, but I feel like I must be missing something because it seems like A has just gotten branded a mean girl and hated by folks from the jump, while JD has been given a pass?

I can’t speak for the whole fandom but I think the reason why I don’t like A’s vibes is she seems to enjoy the chaos that being with L brings. I wasn’t around till May so I don’t know what went down before then, but even in the pap pics it gave me a weird vibe seeing her running after L and trying to hold his hand. She let people tag her account in the pap pics, she let the initial fan page tag her in their posts, she even lets the current weird troll fan account commenting under her posts. I’ve seen multiple people saying A blocked them, but somehow she let’s the ones with the most smoke be around.

But honestly I don’t know if she is a mean girl or not, I don’t think we know enough about her to come to that conclusion. I don’t think she is that malicious girl who likes to tease the fans of her bf. I think she might be insecure and immature, and probably wants to show off her bf but cannot do so. I just hope she won’t come out of this relationship with a broken heart.

As for JD, I don’t know much about him but he comes off as someone that minds his own business. He doesn’t share Nic openly a lot, goes out with his friends, keeps filming stuff etc so he seems a bit more mature to me compared to A.

But I think another factor is definitely timing. Before London premiere a lot of fans knew L had a gf but they weren’t the majority. Most people found out via the pap pics and unfortunately the common consensus was it spoiled the release of part 2. So that relationship is now tied with the idea “spoiling launch of a project so many people worked so hard for” whether it is the truth or not. But about Nic’s alleged relationship we still know nothing, only speculations.

And yet, still so many people started to throw hate on her btw.

"Virgo wants order while Scorpio wants power" says a whole lot about how compatible they are. they want the same things but in completely different ways. it's why Carlos can factor in helping Lando get a podium and Lando has no problem admitting that Carlos helped him get there.

pitfalls of their relationship are down to the fact that they are so complimentary yet both are strong-willed. Virgo thinks far more logically and doesn't want to compromise by factoring in Scorpio's ever-shifting ambitions and emotions. it's honestly a very good thing that they've chosen friendship/bromance over anything else. they can keep that sweet aspect of romance but without having to suffer the restrictions and complications of a romantic relationship.

and um it might also explain why Carlos was the one to push Lando into finally having a girlfriend. from what I vaguely know Carlos himself had a longtermish gf ? for his McLaren years ?? and he'll have found it easier to deal with Lando's neediness with a gf for Lando to focus on.

not to get too parasocial about real life stuff here but we can all kind of agree that Max F's girlfriends have to accept that his friendship with Lando comes first. or at least equal to them. that's because once Leos find someone happy under their control and protection it's an absolute lock for life. Scorpio Lando wants attention and reassurance, Leo Max wants to be the leader and the rock. Scorpio needs to be in their feelings at will and Leo loves living in the moment. they sort of already found their person in each other oops. but since cis straight people relationships already center around ferda culture it works just fine.

by contrast, Carlos as a Virgo would have his own strict ideas of what his relationships should look like and I'm gonna take a wild guess that his family have inscribed ideals of wives and babies and being a provider into his DNA. when Carlos gets married it's going to have to be Lando who works around the schedule and makes good friends with Carlos' wife. fortunately he seems to be able to do that just fine with Max's partners so I don't see any issue there. as long as the Scorpio/Virgo friendship is free and easy for each party to come and go as they need to, they'll literally be bonded as family til they die. I can't read Lando's actual feelings well enough bc he uses so much deflective sarcasm but Carlos and his family absolutely adopted him as one of their own. Lando might take a little bit more of Carlos' generosity than he gives back but that's just their way. I'd say Max F is the bff who will always be there and Carlos is the bff that Lando can meet after months apart and it'll be as if it was just yesterday.

as Lando said they're much better off not being on the same team because they were juuuust on the cusp of the teammate rivalry not being fun anymore. I miss the challenges together but we'll always get carlando content anyway and won't have to see their relationship erode, fail and then heal but never be quite the same again (sorry but like w Daniel). it's also why the landoscar astrology reinforced everything we feel about Oscar being tailor made for Lando as a teammate.

let's get the rough stuff out of the way first: long term romance between Scorpio and Virgo is… tricky. especially both of them being men. I'll go ahead and say that they're much better off having a steamy hot affair for a while but then letting it settle into platonic but extremely deep friendship. you could easily have Lando's main love interest having to accept that Carlos has the same role w Lando that Lando does w Max F.

that being said! the sex is fire. Virgo Carlos would be a confirmed masc top (literally wants to do "power play") bc a feeling of control is so fundamental for him. Scorpio Lando would be raw arousal and want someone he could fully trust. he'd be over the moon to do anything and get as kinky as Virgo wanted.

Carlos would want to shower Lando with gifts and big expressions of love and adoration. while Lando would eat all of that up he wouldn't see it as the same as spending quality time together and sharing the same bed etc. definitely would need to be a chapter dedicated to communicating of needs etc.

Carlos would break very quickly in a secret relationship. it would sap him of everything he wants to bring and receive in a relationship. Lando wouldn't last much longer because his partner denying him romantic love in public would eat away at him. it would either end them or be a catalyst for deciding to be open and damn the consequences.

carlando angst is a whole other level because of how much they both want to remain bonded together. but there's also plenty of juicy fodder: miscommunication (Carlos' fault) jealousy (Lando's) possessiveness (Lando's) a need to be in charge (Carlos) lying for the other's protection (Carlos) wanting more freedom (Lando) caving to societal/familial pressure (Carlos) cheating born of passion or dissatisfaction (Lando) silent treatment (Lando) dismissal of feelings (Carlos) angry words that they wish they could unsay (both)

or the most complicated of all which would be Carlos VERY likely assigning Lando the "woman" role and being unable to have a romantic relationship not based on heterosexuality. don't worry he'd gay sex it up bc sex is His Thing but there'd be specific no-go things for him in bed. this is because of the whole rules obsession and occasional lack of emotional connection problems. this could go really sweet and involve negotiation and self-exploration or it could just be super kinky or it could be really angsty and lead to Carlos almost losing Lando entirely. just know that it'll need solid work shown to bring Carlos out of mainstream gender norms if he even does. he will resist efforts made to rattle the world he's built for himself. if it's dark fic that features social homophobia/internalized homophobia then it could be left as is rather than trying to fix it (as in, they're fighting for their lives or live in constant peril so their relationship doesn't get the attention it needs)

the power balance will always be in favor of Carlos so you'll need to take very good care of Lando and stay in his head most of the time for him not to lose himself completely. think of how Lando always mirrors the vibes of the men he is with at the moment and that a lot of carlando is Lando following Carlos like a puppy.

Carlos will never back down and won't have the capability to deal with fights but he will never EVER reject Lando. if he needs to walk away from a fight he'll state the fact first and do it as a way to clear his head. but he'll always come back. literally Lando could have walked away from him and married someone else but it would just take Carlos seeing his number calling for him to drop everything and be there for Lando like nothing had happened.

Carlos may need to hold all the cards but life without Lando is impossible for him. they'll either be intensely loyal friends in a multiship fic or on a steady track to Carlos putting a ring worth the gross national product of a small country on Lando's finger.

You're tags about early hiatus leading to calcified headcanons makes me think about why certain parts of the fandom are so against the idea of yang being butchier and cling to her beacon persona so hard. Odd to me beacon yang's whole thing was she was putting up a front to hide her insecurities, yet early fandom portrayed her as some femme fataleish fashionista that flirted with everyone and talked about her boobs nonstop. But even beacon yang was never like that, and now we have a yang that wears big butch boots and overalls and bomber jackets and likes to manspread and actually it's her gf that likes to get prettied up for their dates while yang watches with heart eyes from afar. Sorry for the essay, I just wonder why early fandom saw a show that telegraphed pretty well that it's about turning tropes on its head and decided "no I want the surface level version of these characters and any change or development that differs from it is bad"

I think it’s especially annoying when fandom does that with Yang’s V1 “persona” in particular since (1) she got the least amount of development of the girls in V1 (we really don’t “meet” Yang til we get her backstory in Burning the Candle — hell we don’t even get an explanation of her semblance until Painting the Town) and (2) all the girls have grown and changed since we met them, so why are some folks SO stuck on early Yang? But I do think it taking so much longer to really “meet” Yang means there were huge chunks of time between the Yellow Trailer and V1 and then V1 and V2 where people filled her character in how they saw fit and have clung to that.

I think there are sort of two buckets. In the bad faith group are the weebs who saw big boobs and an empty vessel of a character they could project onto. To your point, the show told us from the get-go in her trailer and in her song that she was “more than meets the eye”, but the shonen-brained who are accustomed to fanservice and 2D female side characters saw Yang and assumed she was for Them (and feel betrayed that she isn’t and have made it everyone’s problem). I dont have a lot of patience for those types — they can go watch 99.9% of shonen anime if they want that (though I hope for their sake they expand their media diet…).

I have some more patience for the second bucket who just don’t really understand the lesbian experience and how it can be to re-contextualize your identity once you’ve figured yourself out. Because in some ways you only really “get it” if you’ve gone through it. Yang settling into herself is SO cool to me, because I was similar. In high school, I was pretty femme / assumed I was straight / etc. And even once I understood I liked girls, knowing your identity and integrating your identity are two different things. It’s so normal to me to see Yang “become” Yang as she has (from the way she dresses, her posture, the way she sits, her chivalry, etc) because I lived it. But I think it is lost on some people who just see her “dykeyness” as a retcon and not a development — so to them, I want to try to be patient because I realize what’s obvious to me comes from my lived experiences. (Again, the bad faith folks who wanted surface-level digestible anime waifus don’t get my patience here).

But to those coming at Yang in good faith, Yang coming into herself and getting more butch as time goes on (Yang was always going to be more than her first projection - they spelled it out) is no different than Weiss and Blake settling into their ‘true’ selves (and their color schemes have slowly come to match their aura/soul colors). It’s also a pretty common experience when sexuality is yet another thing piled on top of the identity crisis that is your late teens/early 20s.

I also find it a little silly that people glom onto V1 Yang as this flirty party girl because it’s not even supported by actual canon. Yang plays video games and is like a super-nerd about the table top game they play in V2, but none of those “I miss V1-3 Yang” types are like “why doesn’t she play video games and board games anymore? What a betrayal of her character”? Like why isn’t “gamer bro” Yang part of That fandom’s flanderization of her character? There’s more support in canon for that than her supposed puns…

Anyway, went off on a tangent there, but TLDR: Yang’s butch-ness is completely organic and part of her settling into herself, just as the other characters have settled into their true selves. I dont have time for the folks fueled by entitlement, but I can have time for the folks with empathy who might not have all the inputs to understand it but are willing to listen (and my inbox is open!).

Hexing, evil eye and everything harms

So, I recently got hexed and talked about it, and I think this is a great time for me to talk about what hexes are and how to protect yourself from them, as a continuation of my two protection posts.

First, what is baneful magic ?

In the dictionary :

Baneful : Causing harm, ruin, or death; harmful. Portending harm; ominous. Having poisonous qualities; deadly; destructive; injurious; noxious; pernicious.

Usually, what people call baneful is actually super relative to culture, religions and individual practice. it can includes : hexes/curses/jinxes, love spells, domination spells, blood magic, binding, banishing etc. There is a lot of rhetoric from different people that try to keep people away from these spells. For example the rule of Three, which states that everything you put out comes back three times, is a Wiccan religious belief that is in no way applicable to all witches. Some people's views of "karma" or other "universal justice" ideas. I am personally of the opinion that, if your guide and your moral compass agree, there is nothing wrong with giving universal justice a little boost with a bit of a reasonably measured hex. But as a general thing, it should take place in an informed, cultivated practice and not just a "i'm mad at my ex so i'm gonna pick this random tiktok spell i saw and write his name on it". No. That is the best way to get yourself in trouble.

What is a hex ?

A hex is, at its core, someone sending negative or unwanted energy your way. We can commonly see a few types of hexes:

The Evil Eye, the most common, easiest one, that everyone probably got at one point in their life. At its core, the Evil Eye is about people wishing ill intent on you from seeing you succeed. As an example, I made eye contact with someone that was jealous of me while i was on stage and i almost tripped on a floor that had no reason to make me trip. It is usually considered to be easy solved by not showing your achievements you know are jealous, basic cleansing, throwing salt over your shoulder, using a talisman etc. I'm pretty sure most if every culture has a concept of evil eye so look into what you resonate with best (in the limits of what is open to you).

The Jinx: it's almost the cute version of an hex ? It's like causing a bit of a bad luck, like missing the bus, breaking your phone screen, missing an appointment etc. it tends to not last very long, a few hours or so.

The hex: it is both a general term and what people tend to do. It's the " can't keep one up with a new gf", "have constant bad breath", "flat tire", "might lose your job" one. it can wildly vary in intensity depending on your current protection, how close the target and practionner are and the nature of the spell. The Curse: This is when shit goes DOWN DOWN. Generational trauma typa shit, illnesses might pop up typa shit, divorce typa shit. To this day, I have never seen anyone being truly cursed. Usually the energy ends up being transformed into lessons for the descendants or the target after a while, and its goal it to point out specific toxic behaviors or issues rather than just cause chaos.

How to cast a hex ?

I am pretty sure i answered a ask about this once, my goal here is not exactly to give a recipe for all hexes but at least guidelines so you know how to start and where to look. Hexes, just like all spells, are about creating an energy and sending it. In this particular case, it is about creating "mud" and throwing it at someone. Here is the thing: you cannot throw mud without getting your hands dirty. How dirty your hands get depend on what you are throwing, if you are taking precautions and how much you are cleaning after. I know it gets told time and time again, but don't do a hex as your first spell if you dont have a good handle yet on protection and cleansing spells. The reason why they are recommended for beginners is because they are easy, don't typically explode in your face easily, and they are diverse, therefore allowing you to test out what you vibe with and don't. Also, they teach you necessary skills. Otherwise, it works as any other spell. If you do it with leeway for the universe (and you take precautions and cleanse) the cost for you will probably be energy, headache etc. If your goal is to specifically make a certain situation happen for someone, it will require a sacrifice on your part, that you may not have control over. I am currently being coached and taught about spellwork, so in a few months I might revisit this post and explain things differently and add more info.

How to know you have been hexed ?

If bad shit starts happening out of nowhere, it might be worth asking the question.

Here is a list of things I have experienced or have seen people experience from being hexed:

nightmares

sleep paralysis

bad luck

fire alarms going of at specific hours

people being unusually mean or intolerant to you

getting weird or scary visions (VISIONS, not hallucinations, if you are not intuitive this does not apply, if this is not already in your belief system this does not apply)

stuff falling, breaking, not working, getting lost etc

having difficulty reading, channeling

feeling blockages

getting sick, nauseous, getting a migraine, getting a crisis of an already existing illness

getting into arguments

protections and wards acting weird

pets acting weird

The thing is, any number of those things can happen for a hundred reasons that are not even remotely spiritual. If there is another possible explanation, check it first. I promise you it is a lot more likely than someone hexing you.

Okay, so now i know i got hexed what do i do ?

Congrats you got hexed.

Start by not panicking.

Even though it sounds scary, it is probably a lot easier to get rid of it than you think. You can start by checking my protection 101 and protection 102. Cleanse deeply yourself, your room and your spirit and add some protections. Once it is done, if you still feel negative energy around, you can try cleansing one more time, or it may mean your guides are inviting you to look into yourself and heal some parts of yourself that the hex brought out.

After you got hexed

This is the official point where you can start throwing hands with the person that sent you the spell. No, i'm kidding. Okay, maybe not. But yeah, it is a point where you restore your protections and can pat yourself on the back for succeeding at getting rid of an hex. Good job!

As someone who first watched the show at the uncritical age of 12, I'm curious, what else would you criticise about Gravity Falls?

The lack of woman writers leads to Dipper and Mabel's development being very unbalanced in Dippers favor which leads to Mabel feeling like she's not allowed to go through any meaningful arcs which leaves it feeling like shes selfish and doesn't have to give up or learn anything by Weirdmaggedeon. This isn't speculation either, Alex admitted while talking about why Wendy was so underdeveloped that they just didn't have a ton of women in the room and it was harder for them to write women in general.

In addition, Ford is a real anchor on the show. It's so obsessed with keeping his identity secret that we can't have the characters (namely Stan) talk about him and his relationships with the family. Then he comes into the show far too late, and to make up for that he takes up an inordinate amount of screentime-near cutting Stan out of the show for the latter half of season 2-yet only spends that time with Dipper. He never has any meaningful interactions with Mabel, barely any interactions with Stan that have meat, says literally one line to Soos over the whole series, and legit never speaks to Wendy once. And this further the imbalance of Dipper and Mabel because Dipper being stapled to Ford from his introduction means Dipper gets a lot more screentime while Mabel is relegated to B plots and runners (along with the rest of the characters).

The show has other issues like the buying into Bill's hype too much leading to Sock Opera being the worst episode of the show and ruining his credibility as an interesting force of nature, or it's focus on side characters in the eleventh hour that it doesn't have time for like Robbie or Pacifica, but those are honestly pretty common and miniscule for cartoons like GF so I don't hold it against the show too hard.

So those are the big two and they both feed into Alex just having a problem with balancing characters and needing a more diverse crew. Something that (if he ever works in the industry again) is easy to fix.

Calling all Ghostfox shippers (part 2)

So, before I talk about this ship I just want to say that anyone against it shouldn't bother commenting because I'm saying why this ship should be canon. It deserves to be canon because Gwen's existence in the comics is supposed to represent lesbianism and her girl boss nature.

It's no secret that gwiles ship is offensive in a misogynistic/homophobic way.

Ghostfox has shown more potential which explains accuracy on Spider Gwen in the comics. Gwen Stacy and Ami Han have a dark relationship with grief. These two have so much in common.

The annual showed little time and I know why. If the chemistry was a bit more noticeable then fans would immediately argue since it's a threat to Gwen's purpose in the movies. I'm not gonna force people to stop shipping gwiles but I just hope each individual has their unique and observant mindset to explain why they like the ship. If you have your own individual opinion then I'll respect that.

But personally I think spiderverse is doing Gwen dirty.

Ami is less unfortunate as she hasn't been on screen yet (idk but someone can correct me).

I'm a huge fanatic on nine tailed fox spirits and I see some reasons why marvel webtoon comics by Korean writers/artists started with her. (I am aware of Silk but she's part of the spider man franchise. Ami isn't spider themed okay?)

Ami seems like the poison ivy to Gwen's harley quinn. Except they aren't villains.

@nyan4ko has mentioned that Ami would be the sweet supportive gf. And Gwen would be the funny but grateful one.

Ami being the sophisticated kdrama styled super spy and Gwen being the smartass punk chic seems like a very interesting dynamic. Gwen would definitely always love Ami in fox form or usual form and Ami would love the excitement of Gwen being chaotically heroic. If they interacted more then we'd all have a clear understanding of what kind of dynamic the pairing would be like.

The fact that Ami already knows how to be flirtatious is good as Gwen would be the first person Ami wants to flirt with when not on missions.

Oh yes. Data loss is one of my least favorite things. Losing some fanfic files on the family computer as a kid cemented that aversion into me. And yet I have lost data many times since then, most notably in 2010 when my laptop Archimedes died out of nowhere, which killed most of my music compositions from one of my most important periods.

I'm quite paranoid about data loss. These days I will typically make a backup every three or four months (or less if I have done a lot of writing or otherwise feel the need to back something up sooner), and I have more than one independent backup device.

I actually got a warning just this morning on my main computer about an impending hard drive failure, so I did a full backup of that one and ordered a replacement drive.

2. Out of everything you’ve ever written, what’s your favorite sentence?

That's a deliciously provocative question, and there are so many different ways I could tackle it.

It would very likely be a fiction sentence, as I both care about my fiction more and put more effort into editing and refining it. But I should at least mention that I've done some nonfiction sentences that I'm really proud of. I love it when I can elegantly bring a thesis together, or synthesize a truly fascinating new idea, or perfectly summarize a thing. In all cases, my great nonfiction sentences are masterpieces of insightfulness and clarity. Clarity and insightfulness are the common factors, the reason you would spend your precious time reading my often-verbose, self-indulgent ramblings.

I don't have any such sentences in mind off the top of my head, sadly, or I would happily share one. I suppose I can leave it to anyone who has been a longtime reader of my journal to volunteer any favorites they can think of.

To get on with the fiction:

I put a lot of thought into first sentences: the first sentence in an entire story; the first sentence in a chapter or section; the first sentence introducing a new character; their first sentence of dialogue. When it makes sense to do so, and when I have the opportunity, I also put a lot of thought into last sentences.

There are the "high art" sentences, the ones that attempt some feat of technical prowess or showcase my skills or artistry. These tend to be longer and/or highly stylistic.

There are the "punchy" sentences: short sentences that comprise their own paragraph to underscore a point, ideally to resounding effect.

There are sentences that I am personally biased toward for external reasons, such as ones involving Silence doing Silence stuff.

There are sentences that have deep, personal resonance for whatever reason.

There are the sentences that depart from literality and become in some way transcendental, often assuming an omniscient voice and openly musing in the company of the reader.

There are sentences that don't look like much on their own but become very powerful in context. (Not unlike the aforementioned "punchy" sentences.)

And of course there are miscellaneous sentences that I just like for whatever reason.

(It's also worth noting that, with the way I write, often the great stuff is only resolvable down to the paragraph level, not the level of individual sentences. And some of it is only resolvable down to the scene level, with no great sentences per se even if the scene itself is very strong.)

Different sentences can excel in different ways, each in turn making a compelling case to be my "favorite." I can like sentences because of some aspect of their structure—their rhythm, for instance, or their alliteration or some other literary quality, or their feel on the tongue or in the eye. Or I can like sentences because of their imagery, the contents they convey, irrespective of their structure. Or I can like them because of their meta function, their role in advancing or pulling together the story or important thoughts therein. And so on. I don't consider these various properties comparable, which makes it very difficult to conceive of one supreme sentence above all others.

Even if that weren't so, the way my memory works also makes it virtually impossible for me to select a favorite without going back and rereading all the fiction I've ever written (lol) or whatever subset thereof I think most likely to produce leading candidates for my favorite.

In lieu of this I am quite limited in what my memory is able to recall at the moment on its own. The sentence that has stuck with me the most in recent months is not especially remarkable on its own; it is one of those "Silence doing Silence stuff" sentences and it really loses a lot of its punch without the context of its paragraph and wider scene, and since it is also something of a spoiler I don't think I will post it here, but it's basically an affirmation of her power, which I love.

Since writing the previous paragraph I spent over an hour looking for a good sentence in order to give you something approaching a satisfying answer, but alack my brain was not plugged into creative writing mode at all today and so I have found this a most unapproachable, inapprehensible exercise tonight. It's funny how, some days, it's like the text itself changes. There are times when I absolutely love this stuff, and times when I just don't connect with it at all, and sadly today is one of the latter.

But perhaps if you could refine the question (and catch me on a better day)? I often find that this helps to unlock my mind, if the derivative question has some new substance which helps me to conceive of the query differently.

Anyway! I've written quite a few sentences in my life. Maybe, given my complete uselessness, it would be better to ask the people who have read some of them what they think. I'd be curious to know, myself.

I can tell you one of the leading candidates for my favorite sentences that I haven't written, however. It's from Dickens:

And Scrooge said often afterwards, that of all the blithe sounds he had ever heard, those were the blithest in his ears.

For context, the preceding sentence is:

He looked so irresistibly pleasant, in a word, that three or four good-humoured fellows said, "Good morning, sir! A merry Christmas to you!"

Started while, I was late 12/ early 13. I had friended him over a video on funtime foxy being male because I've never had a lot in common with my friends I think It came to a video on the charters told him what I thought he is older said by himself he was 14-15 then is 16 now and yeah I said funtime freddy is female dumb sure but again a kid and can think how I want, 100℅ he should have known better attacking me on how I was dumb I made channels defending myself he had people attack my mains constantly, and I decided to stop replying after my fee videos, in these I just went over what he did. Tbh all he did was call me names and claim I'm lying even though it seems weird what is this kid even replying to then..? Yeah I think people should have questioned him more. But during that time he took a lot of my friends he did photoshop stuff of me to start drama because I blocked him another thing to mention I told him it was harassment as he forced me to talk to him on all my other socials (that is the definition of harassment to force contact) he claims I am harassing him after yet also states I blocked him therefore neither makes sense you cannot be harassed and blocked. I wanna admit to my faults too but I won't make him look innocent in anyway.

I had made fake accounts but not for bad, his were to mock me and attack me, mine I faked having a friend who stood up for me It's weird but a lot of my friends didn't wanna be in drama and I felt sorta alone. Absolutely!!! Perfect timing, lmao, I just wanted to start sketching some of my tgirl headcanons. From the first game, I would say an obvious one is Chihiro. I know it's a taboo in the fandom to hc her as a trans girl, but I think realistically speaking, it just makes sense. Imagine you're a closeted, passing trans girl, locked in a murder game, constantly misgendered by being forced into male lockers and male bathrooms. Imagine you get threatened with someone revealing your secret, and you live in a country like Japan where being trans just isn't common and is still very frowned upon, and trans people get sterilized after SRS. It would break anyone lol, so I wouldn't be surprised if she felt the need to detrans for safety. It's realistic and it's sad enough. I think her dad knew, and he was supportive, but she was scared to have anyone else know at all. As much as we can hc danganronpa characters as extremely accepting and cool, it's worth mentioning this is still 2010s Japan.

In the second game, I hc Mahiru as trans before the game. I think her complex relationship with femininity and womanhood is very interesting from the lens of a trans woman. She's a trans girl who was extremely close to her mother and not at all to her father, like a lot of tgirls, and she feels like she has to uphold a standard of gender for the sake of validity. I also hc Kazuichi as a tgirl but I think she hasn't come to terms with it yet. I think she doesn't even like Sonia as a crush, but moreso as a "goal". I mean, think about it. What's more feminine than princesses? I do also ship Mahiru and Kazuichi so I think they help each other out. Mahiru helps her gf pick out clothes, style her hair, put on makeup, act more girly. They help each other with tge E shots hehe.

As for DR3, I haven't finished it just yet, but I already have 3 trans headcanons (ig the despair mfs know that transsexuals make good TV). As of right now, it's Shuichi, who's such an obvious trans boy. He's my only tboy hc at the moment, too, hm. I think everything from his japanese voice to his way of dressing up to him wearing a hat to hide his features gives very tboy. Then Kokichi. Idk she gives mean doll to me. I do! It’s honestly been super super wonderful. She’s a very kind and smart woman.

It’s brought up a lot of complicated feelings for me though. I have a lot more internalised homophobia then I was originally aware of. So some breakdowns have been common over that. And being in such close emotional proximity to someone has really brought out some very hard and confronting OCD episodes. There is the guilt I feel as well, over being a relationship, feeling as though I have something I don’t deserve or shouldn’t have until everyone else does too. Which has lead me to being pretty quiet about it in my irl life. Lots of very hard and complicated emotions that I haven’t really figured out how to handle yet, and also feel as though I don’t really have places to go to talk to about. It’s also a bit hard because we live in different states, so there is a lot of video chats. We are also taking things slow and trying not to rush things too much. Which I think is very helpful for our mental health. I do know regardless of how we end up, I definitely want her in my life. So I think going slowly and focusing on the girlfriend aspect as well as the best friend aspect is helping with that.

We have met in person already though ! She’s very very beautiful and handsome and warm. She’s incredibly smart and kind and emotionally intelligent. We watch movies together a lot and I’ve introduced her to Bluey.

I’m trying my best to take things one step at a time. It’s hard with how my brain is though. Especially since I’m so used to being alone and not talking to many people. So having a constant in my life now has made my emotions feel very raw and heightened. It’s also made me have to come to terms with the fact my feelings of loneliness and emptiness are just going to always be there regardless of who I’m with. Which has been sad to say the least.

And obviously navigating having severe mental health issues while having someone else in my life is hard , because I want to do the best by her, so it’s been a learning curve for myself and my limits. But she makes me feel as at peace and happy as someone like me can. And I want to do my absolute best to make her as happy as possible and provide her with lots of love and a safe space , because she has a beautiful soul and deserves nothing less, regardless of what happens with us.

Pim: The sappiest stuff ever imaginable, at least one fic where someone puts Scribbly in the place of "Shrimpina" in that fantasy Pim has, various Disney aus, and then maybe some angst fics thrown in there due to Scribbly's sad demeanor and their conflicting views on what the perfect future together is.

I haven't really delved into the world of SF fanfiction yet so I don't know if these would be accurate to the fandom, I just based the ideas on common tropes seen in fandom in general.

Charlie: I think people would kinda zero in on Charlie being Kinda Shit so we would end up with a lot of content of Scribbly being a submissive gf in a one-sided relationship. Which is a huge misconception Charlie loves her very much.

Pim: Like I said in the first part of the post, I think people would make them really sappy and happy and cute- which is real and true. However, I worry abt people mischaracterizing Pim. I already see it in a bit of fanfic I've read (since starting this post. it took multiple days to do this) He's very optimistic and positive, like I cant deny he has the whimsy, but people tend to make him act more childish. He's 33. Treat him with respect.

Off the top of my head, I can't really think of anything negative people would handle with the ship overall, just with how some would write Pim.

I've always liked the fact that Kaia had her book club, and it's smthg she's done for years. She's a VERY avid reader, so I'm not even surprised that Austin was attracted to her, coz he loves to read also! 😊 Like, I can totally understand why they clicked, cuz they actually have quite a bit in common.

While I do think that Kaia has been forced to grow up VERY quickly in the modeling world, and probably isn't a "regular person's" 21 year old, she's STILL very young (imo), and pretty naïve and out of touch.... tell me about the greater hawkins polycule? i think i can guess some of it but i'm just obsessed with these characters and i never really considered a polycule before, yet it is a god tier idea akfgsjs

gsjsgsjsh ok so i have to preface this by saying my main idea for this setting is no upside down au, or even w upside down its nobody dies au cause it includes characters that did not make it in canon but canon is a toy we play with

THAT SAID i also want to add in this au billy is trying to become a better person and unlearn the toxicity he learned from his father. being abused is not an excuse for anything he did but it does offer a lot of context, and i think without his dad in the picture he would have room to grow

SO THE POLYCULE starting w my main blorbo my beloved Eddie Munson. I read him as being only into men, but he canonically has a crush on chrissy so hes bi in this. He's dating Chrissy and Steve OBVIOUSLY

Steve is also dating Billy (i think they have a lot in common being ex-popular jocks who were different levels of asshole but still both kinda sucked, and Steve having already changed could be a huge positive influence for Billy) and Nancy

Nancy is also dating Jonathan, because love triangles are stupid, Robin and Barb, because i decided she's bi i will not be taking opinions on this unless u agree w me. Shes the one w most romantic partners in the au

Jonathan is also dating Argyle ofc

Robin is dating Barb and Chrissy because she deserves to have 3 gfs and i havent read it but i know she was friends w barb in the book rebel robin or smth like that i forgot the title

So, circling back, Chrissy is dating Eddie and Robin. Robin is still a lesbian obviously so her and Eddie are just besties. Steve is still her soulmate (platonic) i think tbh u could make an argument for queerplatonic here but main point is they arent romantically involved

Barb is dating Nancy and Robin.

Billy is dating Steve but sometimes he and Eddie get together, partly because they're both dating Steve but also another reason i choose not to elaborate on in this blog.

Argyle is only here for Jonathan tbh but hes so supportive of Jonathan and Nancy and the extended polycule as well, he and Eddie get along great. I imagine Argyle as demisexual so atm he rlly is only interested in Jonathan, i dont see that changing but it could!

So basically its all the older teens*. The children are NOT included. Aside from like max being billy's sister and steddie being dustin's dad (2 in 1 father woah)

stillness: How does your OC act while still? Are they fidgety? Do they have any common gestures or tics? Does their clothing affect how they hold themselves while at rest?

Mark is SO nervous and SO fidgety-- Drumming his fingers, adjusting his glasses, hands in and out of his pockets. Often, he'll have his arms crossed and head lowered, like he's trying to blend into the wall. Shame he's a dog man and not a chameleon man, tbh. He's just generally a person who looks and acts like he's extremely uncomfortable in his own skin!

change: Has your OC ever drastically changed their appearance? Significant haircuts, big tattoos, complete wardrobe swap, etc? Why? How do they feel about the change?

I actually drew something similar to this earlier this month:

He spent several years extremely depressed while working at a watchtower in the middle of the woods while ALSO unknowingly possessed by an evil dog spirit that would transform him into a rampaging quasi-werewolf state (the horrors part 1) but he cut his hair about a year before the horrors part 2 when he met his gf Emily. In the horrors part 2, he learned about the evil dog spirit, had his soul fused with aforementioned spirit, and is now partially transformed at all times (the man to dog ratio depends on how stressed out he is at the time)

Emily: Emily has been settled into her current style for years now, but as a kid she experimented with her look a LOT. She would go to school one day dressed in pink hearts and sparkles, and the next day in full Renaissance faire garb. And because it's been forever since I've drawn her, this is what she looks like:

Currently she's been mostly gravitating towards practical comfy clothes (but still in bright friendly colors) due to the nature of the monster hunting project management business.

Sloane/Agent Hill: She's never really had a lot of resources or autonomy to change up her look on purpose-- going from a scrappy street kid to an indentured servitude to what is essentially the SCP foundation has left her without much avenue for self expression. She channels that by means of her snarky personality instead. She's acquired a fair number of nasty scars throughout the years though, which she carries with pride.
