Ok I have something to say.

I’m not confused about the ending of aib not about the joker card (Ok I am a little bit bcs people have been giving so many great ideas and theory’s), but it’s not that.

What I’m confused about is how they had a massive focus on the rapid growing plantation and wildlife taking over the city, there was an entire thing with Ann investigating it and that guy finding her with the camera and Arisu and Usagi seeing that on the tapes.

So what I’m confused about is

A) have I missed something or

B) is it a metaphor or meaning for something or

C) is it something that could be explained or is set up for a possible third season

D) is just something the writers forgot to or couldn’t write anything wrapping it up

Because it just felt so important and it felt like it was just dropped or forgotten at the end and I feel a little stupid because maybe I missed something????

But so many people have been focusing on the joker card because yes that is important to but I feel like people have been forgetting about this entire subplot so are we maybe getting a season three, or could the writers just not wrap this loose end up?

Thinking about how Niragi and Chishiya and Arisu are all parallels with each other

since i don't know the original at all take this w a grain of salt, but i honestly like that niragi got a second chance. i feel like the characters in the borderland were some sort of idealisations of their true selves, with either hightened or lowered morale or whatever you wanna call it

so what i want to believe is that niragi literally demonised himself so much that in the borderland he became this self obsessed monster whose entire identity circled around being evil - in some scenes it even seems like he needs to force himself to do something evil bc everything else would go against his self image

and that is not exactly the niragi we see a glimpse of later at the hospital. yeah he's still speaking in a self deprecating way but it's a very different tone. and i have high hopes that he will not become his borderland self in the real world, because now he has Chishiya.

niragi/chishiya is … hard to write. because i know how it would work in the post-borderland reality but in the borderland? they are not fucking. there is only vague confusing sexual tension whenever they’re too in each other’s faces and the abstract glee when chishiya gets shot and finds out niragi is actually alive. and then they lay there on the ground, half-dead, bleeding out, next to each other for literal hours until given the choice of whether or not to return to reality. and chishiya has to prompt niragi into answering. and then they wake up in the same hospital room.
