F1 DRIVERS AND
QUIET ACTS OF LOVE
( include piastri, norris, leclerc, sainz, hamilton, russel, verstappen & ricciardo )
warning : none, fluff
─ OSCAR PIASTRI
Zipping/buttoning your jacket. It has become a habit, almost a reflex for him. He is reserved and calm by nature, so showing his feelings in public is not easy for him. But some of his little actions are proof that he only has eyes for you. Like zipping your jacket before going outside. You're so used to him doing it that you just wait for him to approach you, before zipping your jacket up to your neck, to make sure you don't catch a cold. With a little kiss to finish on the forehead, as a gift.
─ LANDO NORRIS
Tying your shoes when the laces flying around. You don't really know why, but your shoelaces always tend to come undone throughout the day. So, you often stopped to tie them again, and Lando ended up noticing. Since that day, you have never touched your shoelaces again. There will always be that adorable boy with curly hair who will tie your shoelaces before they can even come undone, because there's no way his girl is going to get hurt by tripping over them.
─ CHARLES LECLERC
Pulling you closer when you're cold. It might be the cutest thing he could do. Often the weather is terrible, and you always find yourself shivering with only a few layers of clothing on you. Not enough to warm you up. But your boyfriend is always close to you, and especially ready to pull you closer to his body when he sees you trembling, frozen in place. He gently pulls you by the waist, taking care that his arm surrounds you and that his body can warm you quietly.
─ CARLOS SAINZ
Wiping something off your face. Oh, it's definitely an excuse from him so that he can admire your face or just touch you even for a short while. He's always trying to find every little detail or disturbing thing on your face, just so he can enjoy your beauty and caress your soft skin. You're not even surprised anymore when you notice that he has several packs of tissues in his bag just in case you get something on your face. After all, his princess has to keep her angelic face.
─ LEWIS HAMILTON
Encouraging words for no reason. Everyone can be in a bad mood and sometimes have boring, depressing days. And when that's the case for you, you're not sad for a long time because Lewis is always, always there to reassure you. Encourage you. To remind you how beautiful, glowing and just...perfect you are. But it's even better when he whispers these words to you for no good reason. Just him, his love for you, and his devotion. It's his job to make you smile, to encourage you because after all that's what the woman of his dreams deserves.
─ GEORGE RUSSEL
Know how you take your coffee. You like, no, you love coffee. No matter how it is prepared, coffee remains the drink you can never live without. However, you have a specific order that you order every time. You thought it was only you who knew the secret, until the day Georges brought you a cup of coffee, the same one you order every day. You're not sure how he found out, but he knows he always makes you happy when he sees you flash a big smile as he brings you your favorite coffee.
─ MAX VERSTAPPEN
Fixing your hair. The wind, your number one sworn enemy. Your hair, the thing Max loves most about you. It's so soft and so... shiny. He loves every hairstyle you do, and if you ask him which haircut he prefers on you, oh boy would say that choosing one is as hard as winning an F1 championship. So, naturally, it's a no-brainer for him to fix your hair when it's tangled or messy. Brushing your hair, smelling your shampoo, there is nothing more relaxing for him. Maybe you will even catch him having a small brush in his bag, just in case.
─ DANIEL RICCIARDO
Always gives first bite of food. For many, food is sacred. But for Daniel, it's his way of showing his love for you. He has gotten into this habit of offering you the first bite of the food he orders. Just to see your eyes light up and your smile widen as you enjoy his dish. He could literally die for this side of you, so giving him his first bite isn't a horror but rather a new chance to see you happy. And of course, he will ask you if you find it good. Otherwise, he won't take that food any more.

spoiler alert
Life can be complicated when you possess a rare kind of magic: the ability to see your future with someone upon meeting them. A chance encounter with Mattheo Riddle reveals more than you bargained for.
(Choose your own ending)
Mattheo Riddle x f!Reader
Warning: Mostly angst, some fluff, no use of y/n
✿ Masterlist | 1k words
You cradled the warm cup of tea in your hands as you made your way up the Astronomy Tower, careful not to spill any drop. It was a clear evening, the cool breeze floated lazily through the sky and the stars twinkled brightly. It was the perfect spot to unwind from the pressures of the day.
As you neared the arched balcony, a small orange glow caught your attention. Someone else was here, smoking. He turned upon hearing your footsteps approach.
“Hey stranger,” he called out. You took in his features, curly hair and bright eyes with a lopsided smirk, he was adorable.
“I’m Mattheo, care to smoke with me?” He asked, offering a fresh one from his pack of cigarettes.
You felt it then, magic coursing through your veins from the encounter. Time slowed down as it always did, vague images flashed in your mind and the all knowing voice of your future self spoke to you:
I tried to find all the words to tell you about this boy and how much you’ll love him. Oh the adventures you’ll have together and all the ways it will break your heart. One day you’re sixteen and you’re falling in love for the first time. Everything feels new and exciting. The warm buzzing in your veins when Mattheo bumps into your shoulder and runs his hand through your hair to brush off a leaf that fell. As if, as if. You’ll know it’s just an excuse but you won’t mind it at all. You’ll spend countless evenings in the Astronomy Tower, you with your tea and him with his cigarettes. You’ll talk for hours even though you’ll never remember every word you exchange. It’s enough to get to know him and hear his voice, a melody you’ll want to keep as the soundtrack to your life. You’ll find yourself spinning at the Yule Ball in a lovely dress feeling like the most beautiful girl in the world. You’ll laugh with him, his hand placed perfectly on your waist, bodies flush as you danced in sync, as if you were made just for each other. His other hand in yours, firm and warm as if he’ll never let go. Of course you had grown up with magic, it belonged in the air like oxygen and it sang in your bones. So you’ll wonder how it’s possible that the world is even more magical when you’re around him? Fast forward to when your wedding dress is tucked away at the back of your closet and his vows are on a crumpled paper in a drawer somewhere.
He’ll be good at forgetting dates and breaking promises. Too busy with his plans and ambitions, none of them will seem to include you anymore.
You’ll be good at forgiveness and do overs. After all, his jagged words and actions will be served in bite sized pieces so you’ll think you can stomach it all. You won’t realize it until your friend tells you that you smile less and stopped talking about your goals. You’ll figure out too late that you hacked away who you were to fit into his life, a wild hedge now perfectly manicured in his front lawn. You’ll tell him what you need, afraid you’re asking for too much. That you are too much. He’ll reassure you he can do better and for a while he does. Spoiler alert: it never lasts long. But here now, you are sixteen and evergreen. The stars are bright and so are your eyes. Your heart burns with dreams unrealized and passions you have yet to discover. Don’t take it for granted. My love, life is short but if you stay where you’re unhappy, life becomes insufferably too long.
You blink as the quiet returned and time resumed its course. The cool wind caressing your face brought you back to the present. You took a deep breath, warding off the looming nausea in your head. You’ve never seen that far off in the future before, someone potentially so significant in your life.
A crossroad: Do you choose to stay or leave? Scroll down for your answer.
Stay
“Well hi Mattheo, it’s nice to meet you,” you say as you walked towards him and introduced yourself. You take him up on his offer and held the cigarette in between your lips. Mattheo lit it for you so you inhaled the smoke, the first of many, and watched the wind carry away your exhalations. The air hummed with possibilities, romance, and heartbreak. That’s the thing about your visions, there was no way to know for sure if it would play out exactly as you’ve seen it. Where does one draw the line between destiny and our influence on the outcome? If you considered yourself seriously, you could say you’re an adventurer aspiring to chart her own course. But if you were more honest, perhaps you were simply in denial. Either way, you made your choice. You turned to Mattheo and watched him expertly take a drag from his cigarette. You studied the flex of his jaw and the curve of his lips. How can one stranger grow into something more and take up so much space in your life? Soon, you’ll be in love and dancing at a ball. You’re about to have some of the best years of your life and some of your worst. But maybe it’s worth it.
Leave
“No thanks,” you replied to the boy with curly hair and eager eyes and waved goodbye. You walked away without glancing back. Mattheo simply shrugged and returned to his cigarette, lost in his own thoughts once again. You retreat down the stairs, each step distanced you from a future of bliss and grief. No boy had to be worth your dreams, you thought. It was better this way. As you swivel back to the corridor, your mind swam in the power of choice as future regrets faded from your periphery. You yelped when you stumbled onto someone’s hard chest and warm tea spilled down his shirt. “Shit, I’m sorry,” you exclaimed, far too exhausted with the evening’s surprises. “It’s okay, nothing a little magic can’t fix,” said the boy with perfectly wild hair and a kind smile, already casting a spell to return his shirt to its once pristine condition. You didn’t know him personally, but you recognized him as Lorenzo Berkshire.
“Now about your spilled tea, can I help you get another one?” he asked. You smiled back at him as magic thrummed in your veins and time started to slowed down.

It's All Greek to Me; a one shot.
🕮 PAIRING: collegetutor!jimin x partygirl!reader 🕮 GENRE: College AU, smut 🕮 WORD COUNT: 4.8k 🕮 WARNINGS: Smut, Smut, Smut 🕮 SUMMARY: After failing your college classes, you need a tutor. But if tutor, why so damn hot? 🕮 AUTHOR'S NOTE: This was originally going to be a full-length fanfic, but I decided to make it a short one. I still may expand on it. Let me know what you guys think. Also, my bestie gave me the idea when she said, "Jimin look like he likes ass." LMAO.
Despite your hatred for hangovers, you always ended up with one.
Today was no exception. As the resident party girl at Loren University, there was no way you would ever miss a weekend rager, but as your alarm clock went off for the fifth time that morning, you began cursing at yourself. Maybe going to a party on a Sunday night wasn’t a good idea.
Scheduling a tutoring session at eight in the morning was an even worse idea.
You had many strong suits, but English wasn’t one of them. It was the one subject you had struggled with since you were in high school. Analyzing the words of dead white men from centuries ago was just about as much fun as watching paint dry. Numbers were much more your thing. They were easy and in the words of Cady Heron, ‘Math was the same in every language.’
But you needed to pass. It’s not as if you were here on your parents’ dime like the other kids. You were a scholarship kid and if your grades slipped, so did you. Out the doors and on your ass. So, when you got your last paper back with a big fat ‘D’ written on it, you knew it was time to take action. And that meant getting a tutor.
You just happened to forget that today, on this bright and early morning, with a pounding headache and dry mouth, you were supposed to be meeting him.
Again, you ask, who the fuck schedules a tutoring session at eight in the morning?
With a groan, you grab your phone, hoping to hit the ‘snooze’ button on your alarm one more time before you really had to get up but when your eyes read the time you realize that it’s damn near eight-thirty. How many times have you hit the snooze button? You wonder but realize you’re only wasting more time. Without a second thought, you hop out of bed and into the bathroom, brushing your teeth and running a comb through your curly hair. Your make-up is smudged, and you still have on the shimmering dress from last night but there’s nothing you can do about it now. You grab a hoodie off your desk chair and hightail it to the school’s library.
.
Inside study room 007, you find a very annoyed, albeit very handsome senior waiting at the table. Laid out in front of him are a stack of books, notebooks, and flash cards. Pens and pencils are lined up neatly in a row. He all but glares at you as enter. Before you can speak, he glances at his watch and then looks back at you. “You’re late.”
“I know,” you say, out of breath. “I got caught up …” you scramble, trying to think of a lie instead of admitting you had spent the night throwing ass to Megan thee Stallion and Cardi B but your folder of excuses in the very back of your brain shows up empty. That might be for the best, you realize as you look over your tutor.
“Partying?” He finishes the sentence for you. His eyes rake over you in judgment. “Maybe that’s why you’re failing English.”
Now wait a damn minute. You scoff, crossing your arms. Your brain is foggy, you desperately need a glass of water – and, not to mention, your skin feels beyond icky. The last thing you can do right now is come up with a proper comeback so the only thing you manage to utter is, “Or maybe English is just hard.”
“You speak it every day, how hard could it be?”
“Whatever,” you say, sitting down across from him. “Can we just … start?”
Jimin checks his watch again. “We might as well. We’ve got thirty minutes left. Let’s make the most of it.”
“I thought I had you for an hour.”
“Yes, and you were late so that hour has turned into thirty minutes. I’ve got things to do, Ms. L/N. I can’t wait around for you all day,” he replies, picking up a black ballpoint pen. “Let’s get started.”
“I’d much prefer it if you called me, Y/N,” you say, leaning back in your chair. “And you’re Jimin, correct?”
He nods curtly. “Alright, Ms. L/N, your form said you have an upcoming paper that focuses on the themes from Nella Larsen’s Passing. What part of the story are you at?”
You roll your eyes but choose not to correct him about your name and instead just answer his question. “I’m not on any part.”
His eyes brighten. “You mean you’ve already finished? Well, great, let’s jump right into discussion –”
“No,” you cut him off. “I’m not on any part because I haven’t started the book.”
Jimin looks at you as if you grew another head. “Your essay for the book is due next week. The book is less than two hundred pages. What do you mean you haven’t started yet?”
You shrug. “I figured since it’s such a short book I could probably finish it and write the essay in the same day.”
“And what day were you planning on doing that since our study session is right now?”
That day was last night but as you both knew you had gotten caught up with … other things. “I guess I figured we’d start the book together and I’d just get the essay done next week.”
Jimin sighs. “Ms. L/N, whatever you manage to vomit onto paper will not bring your grade up in the slightest if you follow your method. I guarantee that.”
You find yourself rolling your eyes – again. “That’s what you’re here for. You’re my tutor so tutor me in the right direction.” Jimin studies you for a moment and then he begins carefully putting his things away into his messenger bag. “Wait. What are you doing?”
“Ms. L/N, you can reach out to me once you’ve read the book but until then, we have nothing to discuss. I only meet with students who are serious about their education,” he places his bag over his shoulder and nods toward you. “Have a good day.”
“Um, hello! You can’t just leave,” you say, getting out of your chair.
“I can and I am,” Jimin replies, and with that, he walks out of the study room. You begin to follow him but decide against it. What good would that do? He was rude and had judged you from the moment you walked in the door. You didn’t need a tutor like that.
You decided you were going to go to the campus café, buy a large coffee, and then go home to take a much-needed shower.
. . . .
“He was a jerk,” you tell your best friend, Winter, taking a long sip of your mango-pineapple smoothie. “He left right in the middle of our session.”
Every Tuesday was the same. A morning class and then a lunch date with your bestie, Winter, at your favorite smoothie place about twenty minutes away from campus.
She shakes her head but not at him. “Y/N, I love you, but you were late. You didn’t read the material, and you had the nerve to have an attitude. I would have walked out on you too.”
Harsh but it was the truth. You weren’t quite ready to admit that you were somewhat at fault too. “Okay, but I’m saying, he didn’t have to be rude about it though.”
“What’d he look like?”
“He would be fine as hell if he wasn’t so rude,” you answer honestly.
She shakes her head, amused. “What did you end up getting on your essay anyway?”
After the last encounter with Jimin, you decided you’d find another tutor, but in the meantime, you were going to stick with your tried and true. You did exactly what you had told Jimin you would do. You read most of the book in one evening and managed to type up a paper in the same night, confident that you had aced it. But when you looked online, checking your grade, you realized Jimin had been right. Regardless, you weren’t going back to him.
You sigh. “Does it matter?”
“Yes,” Winter replies. “Because if Jimin is right, then I think you should give him a call.”
“Jimin Parker?”
You and Winter look up to see Jennie Kim hovering above you. Her freshly dyed blonde hair cascaded in waves down her slender face. You may have been the resident party girl, but Jen was the resident party queen.
“Hey Jen,” you say, motioning for her to take a seat. “Yeah, Jimin Parker. You know him?”
She sits between you and Winter. “You mean that gorgeous senior? Ugh, I had him as a tutor last semester.”
“How’d he do?” Winter says, giving you a knowing look.
You lean forward. Jennie was known for many things but having good grades was not one of them. In fact, you wondered how she managed to make it this far without being kicked out. But, if Jimin could manage to get her grades up, then he truly was a miracle worker.
“Amazing,” Jen gushes. “I got an A on my last three papers. I wanted him again this semester but apparently, he’s all booked up.”
You groan as Winter gives you another look. You pull your cell phone out of your pocket and dial Jimin. “Hello?” You reply as he answers. “Hi, yeah, Jimin, it’s Y/N. I was wondering if we could set up a session …”
…
For his sake (and mostly yours) you schedule an afternoon session and this time, you show up prepared. When he arrives, he’s shocked to see you already in the study room.
“Good afternoon,” he says, rounding the table to sit across from you. You get a whiff of his cedarwood cologne. “I see you’re on time.”
“I’m early,” you correct him. “You’re on time.”
“That I am,” he says, taking a seat. You watch him closely as he carefully takes out various pens and pencils, notebooks, and flashcards. He really is handsome, you think, even if he is an ass. “I see we’re studying Oedipus Rex by Sophocles?”
You nod your head. “I read it. I don’t understand it.”
“What exactly don’t you understand?”
“Not a single word in that book. They might as well be speaking Greek.”
He sighs. “Well, it is a Greek book.”
“Clearly,” you reply. “So where do we start?”
“I guess at the beginning.”
. . . .
Things were going smoothly. You found yourself actually understanding the material and surprisingly, enjoying it. But you also found yourself getting lost in Jimin at times. The more time you spent with him, the more you developed a crush. Your mind would wander as your eyes looked over him. You wondered how soft his full lips were. You wondered what his eyes looked like in moments of passion. You wondered how good it would feel to be wrapped up in his strong arms.
Your eyes were on his arms when he called your name. “Huh?”
“I asked did you want to go over the scene between Antigone and Polynices again?”
You shake your head. “No, I think I understand. Antigone wants him to call off the war, but Polynices’ pride won’t let him.”
“Correct,” Jimin replies with a smile.
Fuck, you think. Jimin had a smile that would make anyone melt. “Jimin,” you begin and mentally kick yourself for what you’re about to ask but you’ve started so you might as well finish. You put on your best flirtatious smile. “What do I get if I ace my next paper?”
He seems to know what you’re hinting at. “You get an A and the satisfaction of knowing your hard work paid off.”
Well, if that wasn’t a blaring rejection, you don’t know what is. “Do you have a girlfriend?” You blurt it out before your brain can even process whether the question was appropriate or not.
He blinks, slightly taken aback. “Yes, yes, I do. Why?”
You shrug, trying to be as nonchalant as possible even though you feel as if you’ve just gotten stung by a million honeybees. “No reason. You just seem so into your academics; I didn’t think you had time for that kind of stuff.”
“Well, a human being still needs a social life to thrive,” he replies coolly. “Do you have a boyfriend?”
You nod. “Yes, and his name is Jose Cuervo.”
He laughs. “I’m sure you have a line of men knocking on your door.”
“Nobody I want though,” you say, mostly to yourself.
. . . .
If crushing on him wasn’t enough, now you were dreaming about him. A week of erotic dreams plagued you. They felt so real. You could smell his signature cologne as he pushed in and out of you, your legs on his shoulders and his arms wrapped around your thick thighs. Each dream ended the same though, just as he was about to finish, your alarm would wake you up and you would spend a good five minutes finishing yourself off before getting ready for the day.
Instead of a study room at the library, Jimin asked you to meet him at his apartment for the study session. He mentioned something about time constraints, appointments, and being unable to book a study room but your brain had been stuck on, “Wanna meet me at my apartment? We can have a quick recap sesh before I have to run out?” He could barely finish his question before you agreed to it.
So, sue you for being curious.
It’s not like anything will happen, you thought as you parked, he has a girlfriend. You arrived twenty minutes early. Your excitement had gotten the best of you and you knew how much Jimin liked it when you were on time. When you knocked on the door, a man almost as handsome as Jimin answered.
“You must be Y/N?” he asked, sticking out his hand. “I’m Taehyung.”
You nodded, the thought of becoming a Wattpad heroine and having two incredibly attractive men fight over you danced around in your head. You shook his hand. “Nice to meet you, Taehyung.”
As he let you in, he explained he had somewhere to be, but that Jimin was in his room and to head right in. You gave the door a light knock but didn’t receive an answer. The door was slightly ajar, giving you the smallest view of a very neat bedroom. You spotted Jimin at his desk, looking at something on his large computer monitor. It looked familiar. Your curiosity ate at you, forcing your hand to ever-so-gently open the door further. This time you could see what Jimin was looking at clearly.
It was you. It was your Instagram feed. He was scrolling through your pictures, pausing at every photo that was a bit risqué.
“Fuck, Y/N …”
That was your name. Leaving his lips. In a moan. Your heart fluttered with excitement. But wait, was he …
As you tilt your head to get a better view, you can see the tip of his elbow on the armrest, bobbing up and down. And up and down. And up and down.
Oh, he definitely was.
You slap a hand over your mouth and tiptoe back to the living room. A few minutes later, you hear a shower turn on and ten minutes after that, you see Jimin emerge in a navy blue V-neck and a pair of grey sweatpants.
“Hey,” Jimin looks at you with a face full of guilt. You can’t help but smile. “How long have you been waiting?”
“I just got here a few minutes ago,” you lie, looking up from your phone that you were pretending to be engrossed in. “I haven’t been waiting long.”
“Good, good,” he says. “Let’s go to the kitchen. The lighting is better in there.”
. . . .
After three weeks of hard work and several study sessions, you submit your paper with all the confidence of Scott Disick. Winter, the best friend that she is, decided that this was the best time to reward your good behavior with a couple of jello shots at your favorite bar. You gobble up the first two and then decide to sip on a blue Long Island iced tea. That’s when you spot him. Sitting in a corner, next to his roommate and another man with tattoos up and down his arms. Instead of his usual tweed blazer and grey slacks, his outfit looks more modern, more casual. A white graphic tee hugs his toned body, and you can’t help but eye his biceps. His cheeks are slightly red, his eyes are glossy and he’s laughing harder than you’ve ever seen him laugh. He looks delicious but you turn around and decide to order another shot from the bar.
You spot Winter getting her mack on with a fellow classmate, Karina, and it’s then you realize that you’re probably going to be alone for the rest of the night. Just as you begin to grab your wallet to pay your tab, a familiar figure approaches you.
“Fancy seeing you here,” he’s wearing a smile you’ve never seen before, and it makes your insides flutter.
“I could say the same thing,” you reply. “I never thought I’d see Jimin Park in a bar.”
“I don’t spend all my time in the library,” Jimin says.
“Could have fooled me,” you tease, taking a sip of your drink. “What brings you out among people?”
He orders a whiskey sour before turning to you. “I, Y/N L/N, am finally a single man. My girlfriend of two years has decided that she no longer wants me.”
He’s smiling but you can see sadness behind his glossy eyes. “I’m sorry,” you say earnestly. “Her loss.”
“Oh definitely,” he says with a slight slur. “You want to know the real reason she broke up with me?”
You shrug. “Lay it on me.”
He leans in close, so close his body is pressed up against yours. He angles his lips to your ear and whispers, “I was too much for her.”
“Oh …”
“Yeah,” his words spill out in a rush, his eyes darkening as they take you in. They pause at your mini-skirt before crawling up your body slowly. You suddenly feel exposed, as if he just completely undressed you, but it would be a lie to say you didn’t love it. His voice lowers to a sultry whisper, “You don’t seem like that though.”
“Seem like that?”
“Like I’d be too much for you.”
“In what way?” You ask, genuinely curious.
He leans toward you, his lips brushing past your ear, forcing every hair on the back of your neck to stand up. “Sexual. You look like a good girl who knows how to take a pounding.”
A million thoughts ran through your head as Jimin broke out into a sardonic laugh. You were called back to that time you caught him masturbating to your pictures. You began to wonder if the prim and proper Jimin was just a façade to hide the sexual deviant he really was. His eyes look over you in a way they never have, and you swore they were clouded with lust. He licks his full lips, and you want nothing more than to kiss them, but you don’t. Instead, you take a step back and laugh, motioning to his roommate. Jimin was drunk and even though it looked like he wanted to bend you over the bar and give it to you, you knew better than to take advantage of a drunk man.
….
A week later, when you enter the study room, the moment you and Jimin exchange glances, you feel awkward. He looks embarrassed as he gestures for you to sit down.
“We need to talk,” he says. “I want to apologize about the other night at the bar.”
“It’s okay, I barely even gave it a second thought,” you lie. You had thought about that moment ever since it happened.
“No, it was inappropriate, and I shouldn’t have spoken to you that way.”
“Jimin, you were drunk, it’s fine. Besides, it was nice to see a different side to you,” you reassured him with a smile.
“That’s not a side that I would like to be representative of who I am,” Jimin admits. “I don’t want to be known as the guy who makes people uncomfortable.”
You laugh. “Believe me, I was the farthest thing from uncomfortable.”
He locks eyes with you for a moment before clearing his throat and motioning toward your phone. “Have you checked your grades yet?”
You gasp, suddenly remembering the paper you had submitted a week earlier. You quickly bring up your most recent webpage, searching for the most recent grade listing. As your eyes glance over your paper and the notes, you realize that Jimin lived up to his reputation. You get up, shoving the phone in his face, squealing.
His eyes brighten, and he gets up as well. “You got an A!”
Without thinking, you throw your arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug. Jimin, to your surprise, doesn’t push away. Instead, he pulls you closer, his arms wrapping around your waist. You take the moment to breathe in his intoxicating scent. The both of you remain intertwined far longer than you both know is appropriate but for some reason, neither one of you makes the move to let go.
Finally, Jimin relents first. He stares you in the face and says quietly, “I knew you could do it.”
You let out a small laugh. “I couldn’t do it without you. Thank you, Jimin”
“As a reward, we can end the session ten minutes early today,” Jimin replies and sits back down.
You find yourself shaking your head. “Can I request a different reward?”
Jimin looks up at you and nods. You look around the small study space. The room you chose was in the back, the library was relatively empty today and the small window the room provided was on the door and could easily be covered up the shade provided. You mentally prepare yourself for what you’re about to say next. Things could go downhill, fast, depending on his reaction. Still, you steady yourself, look Jimin in the eyes and say, “I want a kiss.”
“What?”
“A kiss,” you repeat confidently. “I want you to kiss me as a reward.”
“I can’t kiss you,” he replies back, taking study materials out of his messenger bag. “That would be highly ina –”
“Jimin, if you don’t want to kiss me, just say so but don’t use the tutor-student relationship as a reason.”
He sighs. “I …” You watch as he struggles to find the right words.
“You were right about me,” you say, giving him a flirtatious smirk. “At the bar. I can take a good pounding.”
His face turns a beet-red, but he quickly recovers. He stands, walking to stand in front of you. “Just one kiss?”
“One kiss,” you repeat.
He leans in and places a soft kiss on your lips, lingering for only a few seconds before breaking the kiss. “That good?”
You shake your head. “I hardly think that’s worth all the work I put in.”
He smiles, genuinely amused, and says, “Really?”
You nod. “Maybe if it was longer …”
Jimin sighs. “Y/N, if it’s longer, you know what that will lead to …”
“Then let it lead to that,” you challenge, you push. “I don’t know why you have to act so anal-retentive all the time. Not everything has to be perfect. Just k—”
He cuts you off with a deeper kiss. It’s slow and sensual. His hands wrap around your waist, one of them running down the curve of your ass as he palms it slowly, indulging in the fleshy softness. You can feel his dick hardening on your thigh as he slips a tongue into your mouth.
Jimin is using both hands to palm your ass now, his dick grinding into you and a low, deep, moan leaves his mouth forcing an electric sensation to shoot down your spine and vibrate in your core.
“You sure you want this?” he asks through a searing kiss.
“Yes,” you think you say but you’re not sure. Your head is spinning that this is actually happening.
He responds by lifting your pleated skirt and smacking your ass, the sound echoing throughout the room. Fingertips dance between your ass crack, and he uses a knee to part your legs slightly further. You break the kiss, throwing your head back as you feel Jimin’s fingertips slowly rub your pussy from the back. He slips a finger into your underwear, running it up and down your slit.
“How long have you wanted this?” He asks, nipping at your neck. “You’re already so fucking wet.” You try to answer but all that comes out is a moan as he slips another finger inside. “Shh,” he tells you. “You want the whole library to hear you?”
He gives you a bit of a reprieve when his hands slip away. You watch as he pulls out one of the chairs and sits, beckoning for you to stand in front of him. Your skirt is still at your waist, so he pulls your underwear down before pulling you close. You feel his large hands grope your ass again, peppering kisses up and down your hips. Another smack echoes through the room before he uses a hand to caress clit. You move your hips in response, holding on to the table for balance.
He pauses. “Turn around and bend over.” He doesn’t have to ask you twice. You obey, and not a second later, you feel him placing one of your legs up on the study table. “Arch that back, baby.” Your ass juts out just a little more as you follow his directions. A moment later you feel a cool, wet, sensation going up and down the slit of your core. It’s slow at first, as if he’s taking the time to let the taste of you marinate on his tongue but he quickly picks up his pace. The tip of his tongue flickering over your clit. Meanwhile, you can feel his thumb, massaging your anus.
Jimin was an ass man, and he was making that very clear.
Both hands were gripping your ass now as he guided your pussy over his tongue. You work your hips in tandem, stifling a loud moan as your world begins to go white.
But he wasn’t done with you yet.
He moves his tongue from your pussy up to your anus, and you jerk, having never quite felt something like this before. You can hear an amused laugh leave Jimin’s throat as he begins to massage your ass with his tongue. His fingers working your pussy, begging for another orgasm. You oblige, your wetness dripping all over his fingertips.
“Don’t move,” he demands. You can hear his belt unbuckling, followed by the tips of his dick moving up and down your incredibly wet slit. He slides it in with the patience of a saint, excruciatingly slow, forcing whimpers out of you, begging him to go faster. “You sure you want it faster?”
“Please,” you moan.
“Please, what?”
“Please, Jimin,” you manage to utter out.
He gives you your wish and begins to pound you like he said he would. His pace quickens and you can feel every inch of him inside of you. Your pussy wraps around him which causes him to smack your ass, and a deep moan leaves his lips.
You realize he can’t have all the fun though and you begin to throw it back on him, your ass bouncing against him, and he lets you. You can hear your wetness as you begin to drain his dick. You can hear his low grunts of satisfaction as you pick up your pace and when you look back, you can see his dark eyes looking at you in a way you never wanted to stop. “Good fucking girl,” he whispers in a low voice.
You make eye contact which forces him to grip your hips and pound into you harder, faster (stronger). “One more time baby,” he says to you, maintaining eye contact. “Cum on this dick.” You had already been close, and his words only sent you over the edge further than you had ever gone. You close your eyes, your body shaking in pleasure as you have your third orgasm on his dick.
He follows suit, his cum shooting deep inside of you. You feel his body on top of yours as you both try to catch your breath.
“Was that worth all your hard work?’ He asks.
“I think I’ll have to get A’s for the rest of the year,” you reply.
“The rest of your life.”

I LOVE THIS
Hair Hair Hair
Pairing- Sully!family x Sully!reader
Summary- You try a new hair style and your siblings had to mess with you.
A/N- first Sully!reader fic 🤭 high key loved writing this
Skxawng- moron/idiot
You say down in Tsireya and her families hut watching as Ronal heats a comb like thing. "What are you doing?" You question watching as she sections a Meykayina girls hair. Tsireya looks at you as confused as you, "She is straightening her hair." She explains as she grabs a brush and uses it on the ends of her hair. "You can straighten your hair?" You ask touching your somewhat messy hair. "Yes you guys do not straighten your hair in the forest?" She asks putting the brush down.
Shaking your head no you caught the attention of the other two across from you. Ronal finishes the girl and she leaves Ronal watches as she puts the comb down, "Would you like me to straighten it." It didn't really sound like a question more like a statement. "Wha-" "Your hair would you like me to straighten it." She asked this time more directly.
You were sure they could see the excitement on your face as Tsireya giggles and Ronal does a small smile patting the seat in front of her.
She started to brush any tangles you had out, "So they do not do this in the forest?" Ronal asks. "No they do not mostly braiding styles Mother says it is more efficient when hunting." You say. A small hum came from Ronal. "Well since this is your first time I will make it look extra nice." She says monotony. Ronal is not one to say things through words, you learned that a while ago she shows her kindness through actions.
You felt a pull at your hair as the hot comb goes through it, it did feel nice but sometimes you were scared it was going to burn you. It took a while but in the end it was worth it. Norm gifted Ronal a mirror as a token of appreciation for letting his best friend stay. Handing you the mirror you touched your hair, it was straight and a little warm. "I look." You said touching it. "I look." You repeated not knowing what to say. "Gorgeous." Ronal finished for you patting your shoulder.
You and Tsireya began to walk out after thanking her mother, "You better not get in the water or I will skin both of you alive for ruining my hard work." She said pulling the hair supplies up. "Yes ma'am." You said before walking off. As you walked to the docks a few boys stopped you, "Looking good Y/N" or "You look amazing" they would say making your face flush from all of the attention but it felt good.
You reached the docks and there was your siblings playing and splashing in the water. You say down letting your feet submerge in the water. Tuk came from underneath and hugged your legs. "Y/N." She said excitedly. "Y/N? What did you do to your hair?" Neteyam asks confused on how your hair got straight. "Ronal straitened it." You answered flashing him a quick grin. "You can straighten hair?" Kiri asks the group shared the same confused expression.
"Yes I did not know either Ronal uses a hot comb and brushed it through your hair and it makes your hair straight." You said laughing happily at the end. You could still see they were a little confused. "Maybe I can get Ronal to teach me so I can do it to you guys." You suggested. They all agreed shaking their heads in unison.
"Come play Y/N." Tuk said and the happy expression broke your heart a little. "I am sorry tuktuk I can't." You say she furrows her transparent brows, "Why you always play?" She asks trying to drag you in. "I am sorry Ronal said that I couldn't or I would mess up my hAAIR." You scream as someone picks you up and throws you into the body of water. You swim to the top and hear laughter all around you rubbing your eyes you look up at who dropped you, the one the only Lo'ak.
You touch your hair it was all wet, "Lo'ak." You hiss through your teeth swimming closer to the dock. Before he could stop laughing you grab him by the ankle and flip him into the water, .making your siblings laugh even harder. Lo'ak swam and put him hands up as he sees you fuming with anger and a little annoyance. "Lo'ak I'm gonna kill you, you skxawng." You say pushing his head down underwater.

Just Say Yes
Amber X Tara X Reader
3rd Person POV
Ambers arm was wrapped firmly around her girlfriend as the smaller girl rushed to complete her homework. It was due in five minutes and someone had decided to keep her busy last night.
Amber scanned the courtyard usual smirk planted on her face as she saw Wes glaring at her arm around his crush. It was no secret he still harbored feelings for the Carpenter girl and it amused her to no end that even after two years he still wasn't over her. It tickled her even more that Tara was the one to make the first move.
After years of being best friends she'd realized her feelings for the girl were more than just those of a friend. It was during their regularly scheduled movie night/sleepover that the girl had leaned over and kissed her best friend surprising the both of them. Amber remembered the tingling feeling after the initial shocked had passed. She remembered the way the younger girl looked mortified before she pulled her into another kiss. She could still taste the fruity lip gloss and feel her hands digging into her shoulders, the movie in the background long forgotten.
Amber knew her feelings of disdain for Wes weren't just because he was a mommas boy, she thought he had the one thing she didn't.
She smiled at the memory tightening her hold on the girl before placing a soft kiss behind her ear almost making it seem like she was just whispering to her.
Mindy looked at the trio amused while munching through her usual bag of Cheetos her brothers giant hand almost crushing the bag when he went to steal some. His girlfriend Liv laughing at his twins obvious disgust as she stared at him.
Across the courtyard one of Chads teammates slapped the book you were reading out of your hand.
"Fucking freak." Amber watched closely as your eyes flashed with something just before you closed them taking a deep breath and picking up your book. Once again it was slapped out of your hand.
"Chad.." Tara called softly also observing what was happening. The giant went to stand up to help when he caught sight of a teacher passing by.
"Mr.Landry is there a problem here?" The curly haired boy turned into the picture of innocence as he smiled at his English teacher, Mrs.Thompson. His light blue eyes shining with mischief as if he were a little boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar knowing there was no real consequence to his actions.
"Not at all Mrs.Thompson," he bent down to pick up the same book he had just slapped out of your hands. "Just helping my good ole friend Y/N here with her next assignment."
You stared at the boy just from the rim of your glasses before you glanced to the gullible adult beside him. Her scowl turned into a smile as she nodded happy with his answer before turning to leave.
"Fucking idiot." Everyone turned to you in surprise.
"Excuse me Ms.Y/LN?" You tilted your head slightly, a small smirk slowly growing.
Ambers head tilted as well while Tara couldn't tear her eyes away from you, jaw dropping as you straightened your posture.
"I said you must be a fucking idiot if you really believe that." The teachers face grew red as even the group of boys bullying you grew silent in the exchange.
"PRINCIPALS OFFICE NOW! THE REST OF YOU GET TO CLASS!" The woman stormed away as you grabbed your bag following after her.
Amber continued to stare at the spot you'd just vacated as she felt her girlfriend place a slight tap on her shoulder. She looked to the smaller girl.
"Come on we'll be late." She nodded silently intertwining their hands as she let herself be lead to class.
.
.
.
It was lunch when the two girls had caught sight of you again. You were tucked (reluctantly) under the heavy arm of Chad who smiled and slightly shook you as he offered apologies for his pathetic excuse of a teammate. You continued to stare nodding hoping he'd get the hint that you didn't want or need his help. You both were already at his usual table of friends before you could pull away.
"Guys for today we're making Y/N an honorary member of the group." Mindy scoffed.
"You know she's a human being and not a puppy right? You can't just adopt people." He stuck his tongue out at his sister.
"To be fair Chad it does seem like you dragged her here against her will." He looked to his bleach blonde pseudo brother in hurt.
"E tu, Wesley?" Hands crossed over this heart as he began to pout.
And of course as always Liv came to his defense as the ever loving girlfriend.
"Guys his intentions are good and I'm sure Y/N could use more friends. She is new."
You scoffed.
"I'm right here and thanks but no thanks knock off Avril Lavigne I'll take being alone any day."
Liv's face grew red in offense as Chad tried not to show any amusement comforting his girlfriend as best he could. Mindy and Amber laughed along with Tara, the force of her giggles shaking her girlfriends arm slightly. You glanced at the trio nodding before turning to leave. Tara was the one to place a hand on your forearm. Wes eyebrows furrowed making Ambers narrow in turn.
"Stay please." Her soft voice melting you a bit. "It'd be nice to talk to someone new for a change."
Big brown eyes peered up at you and you found yourself staring a little longer than necessary almost counting the freckles that sat across the girls cheeks and nose. You swallowed hard remembering you were staring at the Amber Freeman's girlfriend, the girl in question almost giving you the same puppy dog eyes but hers weren't pleading they were almost demanding you sat next to them as she moved her eyes from you to the empty space next to her.
You were new to the town but you'd heard the rumors about Amber punching and breaking the nose of the same jock who'd pestered you earlier. He'd said something a little too nasty to Tara once and now he doesn't even glance in her direction. You knew all about the rest of the group because some junior directed you through the school and "gave you all the hot goss" she could. You'd been in Woodsboro for maybe 3 weeks now and still adjusting. Your mother always absent either at the bar or under some random stranger.
Slowly you sit down making the Carpenter girl dance in victory, you and Amber both having the same small smile in what looked to be adoration. Mindy eyed the three of you before looking to Wes who seemed to be getting red.
"So Y/N.." Tara began making you turn to her. "We have the next class together right? AP Biology?" You nod.
Amber quirked an eyebrow turning to her girlfriend. "You guys have class together?"
Tara's cheeks tint slightly as some stray hairs fall in front of her face. Noticing her slight discomfort, you finally speak up.
"Yeah but I'm not as smart as Tara she usually helps with most of the labs." The brunette turns to you.
"No you're probably better than my partner and our teachers kind of an ass." You laugh a genuine smile breaking through.
Amber continued to listen in and watch, one hand playing with Tara's hair as the two of you spoke.
"She's also in your art class Amber." The girl turned to you.
"Really?" You nodded.
"Yeah." You cleared your throat feeling slight heat creep up on your cheeks. "I actually sit in the desk behind you."
Amber felt conflicted as she smirked at you. you'd managed to make her smile in less than twenty minutes and the only other person capable of doing so was under her arm.
"We'll now you're sitting next to me." Your eyes shot to her in surprise as she shrugged.
Mindy eyes kept moving between the three of you. Usually Tara was quieter sometimes engaging in conversations with Wes or just simply enjoy her girlfriends company as they'd talk about horror films. There was chemistry between you three she was sure of it.
"Hey Y/N..."she interrupted the staring contest between you and Amber. "What do you think of the Stab movies?"
Liv, Chad and Wes groaned as Amber suddenly grew interested to see your response. Tara as always sat back ready to tune out the usual conversation between her girlfriend and the film fanatic. She didn't mind the Stab movies but she much preferred elevated horror especially those that weren't based on true stories. She glanced at Wes who began to stab his food. Like anyone else who was connected to the Woodsboro massacre sometimes you want to forget the past.
"Never seen 'em." Tara then began to get engaged as she noticed both Mindy and Amber freeze in shock.
"Seriously?" You shrug.
The bell rings signaling that it's time for class, next to you is Tara who's hand is clasped tightly in Ambers as she leads you both to her classroom. You give the two privacy by entering the classroom, your eyes unable to look away as Amber tucks a hair behind Tara's ear followed by a soft kiss. You see the softening in Ambers hard exterior as the smaller girl continues to look up at her, nose scrunching in happiness her eyes almost shut completely as she smiles at her lover. Unable to decipher what's being said when the two glance over to you, you quickly look down to your notebook not wanting to be caught.
Tara comes to sit next to you lightly brushing your shoulder as she does. "Amber said and I quote" she clears her throat making her voice just the slightest bit deeper "Tell that loser that it's a crime against humanity to not have watched the Stab films and she's now obligated to come to my house to watch the whole series"."
She rolls her eyes but turns to you hopeful.
"It's usually just us and the rest of the group during movie nights but it would be nice to have someone else with us, so would you want to come over?" Once again your caught in beautiful baby browns and a hopeful smile. If it were anyone else you'd say no but something about the Carpenter girl just tugs at your heart strings. You sigh rolling your eyes at yourself before answering.
"I don't really have a choice do I?" Tara smirks laughing.
"Not really no, so we'll be seeing you after school?" You shake your head.
"I guess so but I have detention with Mrs.Thompson so it'll have to be later." Tara once again does a small dance as you laugh lightly in amusement.
The girl is just too cute.
.
.
.
After detention you walk to the empty parking lot your bike next to one other car in the lot. Amber Freeman is leaning against it as Tara sits up waving from the passenger seat.
"You forgot to give her your number dumbass."
"Didn't feel like getting beat up by her girlfriend." Amber smirks.
"Just follow me to my house."
You climb on your bike saluting her as she starts her car, the drive to her house not long as you stare in awe once it comes into view. Her house was way better than the small apartment you "shared" with your mom.
"Are you gonna keep staring or are you coming in?"
You take the helmet off and go to follow the two girls. You're directed to a living room with a couch laz-y boy and TV next to a shelf of movies.
Amber goes to pop some popcorn as Tara goes to grab blankets and set up the movie. You feel bad as you watch the smaller girl take a deep breath from her inhaler before she continues her tasks.
"Do you need me to help you with anything?" Your usual harsh voice softens surprising her as only one other person has talked to her that way. She nods slightly dazed before she shakes her head.
"No you're the guest, and Amber and I have this routine down to a T." You nod going to sit on the separate seat.
"Alright loser I ordered us some Chinese because we have a long night ahead of us and since there's no school tomorrow you have no excuses." You just nod at the girl, smirking.
"And if I have plans?"
Her eyes narrow as she leans close to you.
"They're cancelled."
You both stare daring the other to break eye contact when the doorbell rings followed by the boisterous voice of Chad.
"OPEN UP FREEMAN WE WANNA WATCH MOVIES TOO!" Tara went to grab the door guiltily glancing to Amber who sighs.
"You told Mindy didn't you?"
"YOU BET YOUR SWEET ASS SHE DID! HOW COULD YOU HAVE A STAB-A-THON WITHOUT ME?"
Amber rolled her eyes as the whole group forced their way in, luckily Chad had bags of snacks and liquor as he snuck by.
"Well Thing 1 I didn't feel like watching the full series with unnecessary commentary."
She scoffed.
"Oh please my commentary makes the films that much better."
Upon seeing Wes, Tara went to you and whispered.
"Would you mind sitting next to me and Amber?" Her soft lips grazed your ear making you shiver. You looked confused before you saw her glance at Wes, a sudden urge to protect her going through you.
You stand and sit next to the girl effectively cutting him off before he could do so. The bleach blonde grumbling as he takes the recliner by himself. Amber takes this in watching the two of you talk softly as she goes to sit on the other side of her girlfriend. She meets your eyes nodding in thanks as you nod back.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN I PRESENT TO YOU ONE OF THE GREATEST HORROR FILMS IN HISTORY!" She whispers to her brother. "Drum roll please.." he begins to bang his hands to his chest as the curly haired girl continues. "BASED ON A TRUE STORY I GIVE YOU...Stab!"
You sat back arm almost going over Tara's shoulder before you stopped yourself faking a stretch and crossing your arms over your chest. Amber chuckled softly to herself noticing, unknown to both of you so did Tara and Mindy.
The film continued on more screams and blood filling the screen as Tara had one hand on your arm and the other on Amber. You glance to see Wes in almost fetal position eyes barely making it over his knees.
Pussy.
Chad and Liv were too busy kissing to pay attention as Mindy was munching away at popcorn, her commentary cut off not even thirty minutes into the movie, Amber threatened to kick her out.
The doorbell rang making everyone but you and Amber jump.
"It's just the food losers." She stands to get it leaving you and Tara on the couch. The smaller girl cowering into you the minute Ghostface appears again. When she's back the three of you share the cartons of food, which is when you learn Tara's a vegetarian. Mindy complains of being unloved and hungry as Amber throws egg rolls at her. Chad joining in once his lips leave his girlfriends.
"What about me?" Seeing Tara about to hand over her carton of fried rice makes you give the boy yours.
"Here."
The smaller girl gives a grateful smile as her girlfriend passes you a plate with some of her food. You look to Amber who stares until you begin to eat again.
Mindy side eyes the three of you mouth full of grease, pork, and veggies.
Definitely a thing.
It's when the credits roll everyone turns to you in question.
"That was actually a really well put together horror film." Amber and Mindy cheer as the others groan and prepare for the next one.
It was by the third film Wes had to leave due to his curfew, his mom picking him up at 11 as the twins slept on. Liv and Chad had gotten up to "sleep" in a guest room. You, Tara and Amber continued watching as Mindy's talking filled the background.
These suck.
After the first few Stabs you were getting bored, the motives were sloppy and the movies seemed to lose that feeling of nostalgia. Tara and Mindy had fallen asleep halfway through the sixth film and when they were finally done you decided to share your opinion.
"No offense Amber but these newer movies suck." She scoffed and you could see a glint in her eyes as she began her rant.
"I know.." she groaned. "It's like they took everything we loved about the original and shitted on it."
"So how would you fix it?" Her head turned abruptly to you as she began a passion filled speech about the cliches of reboots and how to properly execute a resurgence in film. Her eyes grew wider with excitement and you found yourself enthralled neither of you realizing how close you were getting until she almost woke up Tara. You both cleared your throats.
"We should probably get some sleep." You nod going to pick up Tara. "Where should I put her?"
"I could've gotten her."
"I know you just look a little tired too." Her usually hard exterior chipped a bit and she silently pointed you to her room, where you placed Tara down.
"Where should I sleep?"
"Most of the guest rooms are taken just sleep with us." Your eyebrows furrowed.
"It'll be a tight fit wouldn't it?" She shrugged going to spoon her girlfriend.
"Sleep on the floor then." Your eyes narrowed as you went behind her, wrapping your arms around her and getting in as close as possible.
"Better?" Your breath hit the back of her neck making the girl shiver. She nodded silently a whispered goodnight falling from your lips as you shut your eyes, your hands grazing Tara's the last thing you felt.
Amber went to kiss her girlfriends forehead like she usually did making the smaller girl crack one eye open as she placed a kiss on her chin. A small smile on both of their faces.
.
.
.
You woke up to the sweet smell of vanilla and a small body wrapped around you. Your eyes opening slowly as you found Tara cuddled up to you still sleeping soundly. Her mouth open the smallest bit as her chest rose and fell with each breath. You pushed some hair from her face looking around to see where Amber was. You heard some movement from downstairs followed by the smell of breakfast. You went to move but Tara's small hand gripped your shirt like a lifeline. A quiet knock and dark head of hair peeking in at the two of you.
Amber smirked rolling her eyes. "She's literally a koala." She moved closer placing a soft kiss on her girlfriends cheek before moving to her ear. "Baby wake up and get off of Y/N."
The smaller girl groaned.
"But she's so comfy." She whined. You couldn't help but chuckle making her shake above you. "Stop laughing."
You and Amber were still amused until someone else decided to interrupt.
"Can you hurry up some of us are STARV-" Mindy looked to the scene before her. "Am I interrupting something?"
Tara shot up from you almost tripping making Amber catch her before she could.
"No." Amber gritted out. "And Mindy I literally told you breakfast would be done in a few minutes."
"Wait did Y/N sleep in here instead of the guest-"
Amber cut her off.
"Will you get out already?! Jesus." The curly haired twin raised her hands up in surrender before leaving.
I knew it!
.
.
.
After that night you, Tara and Amber were inseparable. You three having absentee parents, similar tastes and just something that fit both of the girls so well you all were unable to part from each-other.
You had all decided to do your usual movie night at Tara's as her mom was "out of town". You were on the stairs staring at some of her childhood photos when you spotted something peculiar.
"Hey Tara?" She came around the corner cheeks covered in flour making you smile.
"Yeah?"
"Who's the other girl in the photo?" You notice her mood dampen and immediately wished you could take it back. Amber was still on her way over, her parents deciding to finally do the bare minimum by checking in with her.
"That's Sam..." a pregnant pause. "My sister." You looked to her in surprise. You and Tara had shared stories about your alcoholic mothers and their lack of control. The endless lonely nights finally being put to a stop as you found solace in the older girl. Texting or FaceTiming one when you couldn't sleep and starting the day with some words of comfort and motivation. Tara was your ray of sunshine.
"I'm sorry-"
"Our dad left when I was 8, Sam she.....she wasn't the same and when she turned 18 she just left." Her breath shuddered as she recalled the last time she saw her sister.
"Tar-"
"I looked up to her and she just left me." Tears began rolling down her cheeks hot and heavy as you pulled her into a hug.
"It's ok Tara. It's ok." You stroked the back of her head as her hands clutched the back of your shirt. You could feel her begin to hyperventilate as you tried to calm her.
"Tara...Tara hey you gotta calm down." You tried wiping her tears but they kept coming.
"They all left me."
The four words broke your heart as she kept repeating them the girl trying to sink to her knees but you kept your grip firm.
"Tara!"
Fuck it.
Your hands pulled her in kissing her softer than either of you expected. Plump lips pushed back softly against your own as manicured nails dug into the back of your neck drawing you closer. A soft sigh leaving her as the two of you broke apart. Your thumb rubbing her bottom lip as you found her doe like eyes boring into yours.
"I'm not leaving you Tara, not now not ever."Her eyes shut as her breathing returned to normal. It was almost the same thing Amber had told her every night when Sam had first left.
"I'm here for you babe, always."
"Sorry I'm late! Where's the loser?!" Tara pushed herself off as she went to the living room you following closely behind. "Hey- were you crying?" Amber rushed to her girlfriend eyes flashing to you in betrayal. "Did you hurt her?"
Taras hands went to her shoulders turning her face back to her. "No I was talking about Sam."
Ambers face softened the anger still in her eyes but no longer directed at you. She scanned Taras face before looking to you. She sniffed the air around her. "Baby is something burning?"
"SHIT!" She ran past her girlfriend to the kitchen as Amber grabbed you and dragged you to the attic knowing Tara would be unable to hear anything.
"I'm sure she gave you the PG Version of everything so I'll explain and quick before she notices we’re gone. Sam got into drugs and slutting herself out to half the town before she decided to leave her little sister with their drunken mess of a mother." Your eyebrows rose as you looked at her. "At some level Tara wants you to know and I'm sure she'll appreciate me doing it this way."
You nod. "We kissed."
Amber stared. "I know."
You gulped as she stepped closer to you. Her hands a blurred movement before you felt yourself being pulled into your second kiss of the night. This one a lot rougher than the last. You eyebrows shot up in surprise as Amber jumped onto you. Your hands finding their place under her thighs as she wrapped her legs around you. You tilted your head lips sliding with hers. You opened up your lips slightly leering her tongue in as her hands tangled into your hair pulling hard. You groaned in slight pain making the girl smile into the kiss.
"GUYS!" You placed the girl down rushing to get back downstairs when you tripped over a box a diary laid open in front of you. In big bold letters the name of Woodsboro's first serial killer staring back at you. You picked up the book lagging behind Amber who went to help her girlfriend plate dinner. As you read the entry you felt yourself freeze right at the kitchen entrance.
"Y/n...you ok?" You glance at Tara before looking to Amber. You passed the taller girl the book before going to take a seat. Her eyes widening as she looked to you and the book in her hands.
"What the fuck?" You nod eyes still on Tara who starts getting frustrated.
"What's wrong?" She turns to her girlfriend sympathetic.
"You might wanna sit down, Y/N grab her inhaler."
.
.
.
"I want them to pay." Tara's head was on Ambers chest, the two girls had sent you home once Tara was able to function after learning the real reason why Sam left. She was the illegitimate child of Billy Loomis, the real reason their dad never came back. Her mother turning to liquor to drown her sorrows, Tara shook in anger as her thoughts plagued her. Amber brushed her hair back and kissed her forehead.
"They will babe." Tara sat up looking her girlfriend in the eyes.
"No I want to be the one to make them hurt." Amber felt something within her stir. "I want to hurt them like they hurt me."
Amber sat quiet for a moment. "What if we make another movie?"
Tara's eyebrows furrowed as Amber began to get a dangerous glint in her eyes.
"We're going to recreate the same movie your sisters father made and we're going to give it an even better ending."
Tara felt a small smile grace her lips. "How?"
"There's a bunch of movie freaks online that we can use to take the fall."
That night the two began their plan. As time went on Amber turned to her girlfriend sympathetic.
"Babe you know I love you right?" The small girl nodded. "We'll need someone else besides a fall guy, we need someone to help us clean up the mess once everything done."
"But what about me?" Amber lovingly stroked her cheek.
"You're the brain baby now we need brawn."
"Chad?" Amber shook her head.
"Y/N." Tara felt her cheeks tint at the sound of your name.
"I have a confession-"
"No need I kissed her too." The brunette eyes shot open in surprise. "Baby we've both been feeling a connection to Y/N I was just waiting for one of us to act on it, polygamy isn't new and there's something in them that I think makes them perfect." Tara looked skeptical as Amber smirked. "Just trust me, I can prove it."
Amber strode confident to the front door phone in hand and ready to call you. She motioned for her girlfriend to come closer as she began dialing your number. It rang twice before you answered.
"Are you guys ok?" You wasted no time making Ambers smile grow even more.
"We're fine but you should probably come inside." Tara's eyebrows furrowed in confusion until you walked out from the trees sheepishly rubbing the back of your neck.
"How'd you-" Amber ran up to you in excitement eyes shining like they had that night she'd discussed her Stab ideas with you.
"Just come inside and listen."
.
"You wanna what?!" You stood from the chair. Tara looked to Amber worried who held up one finger to her girlfriend. "Tara will get hurt. You will get hurt."
Taras head snapped to you as Amber tilted her head to the side sauntering to you as she dragged her hand across your shoulders. "Which is why I think you're a much better candidate to help us."
You shook your head. "You'd get in trouble."
Tara felt herself begin to realize what Amber already knew. You didn't care for much else but them and their safety over the months you had become a silent protector to the two of them. Countless incidents of Tara needing her inhaler or a distraction from Wes and you much like her girlfriend would be right there to save the day. Even the rare occasions where Amber was vulnerable you were sure they were kept private and whatever she'd ask for you'd get when Tara couldn't. They were all you had and they felt the same for you. Your parents had failed all three of you and Tara's own sister had abandoned her.
"Not if we're careful." She cut in. You looked to the smaller girl worried but feeling your walls crumble.
"Tara if this goes wrong-"
"It won't." You sigh.
"Besides you two, I have nothing left to lose. College isn't in my cards and there's no one waiting for me at home. You guys have families-"
"That don't care." Amber cut you off as she went closer placing her hand on your shoulder her other hand beckoning her girlfriend over. Tara stepped closer placing a hand on your other shoulder you looked between the two.
"I don't want nothing to happen to either of you."
Tara got closer. "We can't promise nothing will happen but we can promise that we'll make sure we get the ending we want."
Amber smiled at her girlfriend as she turned back to you, lips pressing to your cheek.
"Just think Tara's the brains you'll be the brawn and I'll be the mask, we already found someone who will take the fall." Her lips moved from your cheek to your lips. "We just need you to be our insurance policy. We just need you to say yes."
Your eyes shot over to Tara who's nails scratched the back of your neck. Her brown eyes pleading with you, your attention back on Amber who places a soft kiss on your lips. She pulled away letting her girlfriend pull you in for a kiss as well.
With eyes closed you take a deep breath.
"Yes."
A/N: I should probably update the Wednesday series and catch up on requests but this just popped in my head so I hope you enjoyed it 😅😭

Ghost
Neteyam x Metkayina!Reader
Neteyam left this world too early. The emptiness everyone feels is palpable- you don't know how to go on. But you're not so important. Your name is Kanu -meaning smart, or intelligent, in Na'vi- and sometimes you feel anything but. As a Metkayina villager, you feel that you don't have any reason to actually miss Neteyam so much. So why does Eywa keep bringing you to him, in the Spirit Tree?
Word Count: 10k
Genre: Slow burn, friends to lovers, grieving/mourning, post ATWOW

The puddle grows larger as you stab it with your foot. Digging in your toes into the pale grains of sand, you watch as the little molecules of water begin to swirl.
You’re deep in thought. You’re wondering about your place in the world, and you see a tiny, baby tsiki- a reef tick or crab- emerge out of the sand . It pinches it’s claws together- it’s an extremely alluring green shade, and you point one of your turquoise feet at it.
It blinks all four eyes before suddenly seizing forward, click clacking and tutting before pinching your big toe.
“Ah, kehe! ” You screech, meaning no, and you inhale, before kicking the tsiki off and huffing, wrapping your arms around yourself. Usually tsiki are meant to be gentle, not harmful- they often pluck sand out of your toenails and seaweed out of your curly hair- but this one is just a baby, and is clearly curious and weird. It scuttles away into the deep blue waters, and you sigh.
“Kanu.” Tsireya stands before you, and she motions her hand in an oel-ngati-kameie, I-See-you gesture, before sitting down next to you on the knitted stringy material of the bridges connecting the marui, the woven structures that inhabit your village. You repeat the action. “Why did you leave? Lo’ak and Kiri are worried.”
“Tsireya.” You turn to your dearest friend- you’ve grown up with her, and she has always been comforting and sweet. She always knows just what to say.
But after the Sky People attacked the reef- after they practically flipped your world upside down, causing nearly permanent damage, you felt like you could’ve died in that moment. And even though that was scary, what really terrified you was that your life flashed before your eyes, and you could not think of anything notable, anything special about yourself. Nothing good, no sense of call or action.
Really just in the background at all times.
Tsireya, the sweetheart that she is, does not really always understand. She is beautiful- you see other boys in the tribe stare her down all the time, and it’s not with the usual annoyance or indifference that they stare at you with. That, and she’s very clever, and kind, and she’s the daughter of the Olo’eyktan. She was always meant to be special.
You, on the other hand? The Metkayina daughter of two ordinary parents. They do not think less of you, in fact, they are always going on about how smart you are to stay back from danger, from anything that could put you in harm’s way. But you do not do this on purpose- you just feel that you are already rather unimportant in the grand scheme of things, so what would be the point? To try and play the hero? Be someone that ultimately, you are not?
You can never figure out when to strike like Tsireya, Aonung and Rotxo seem to know. Your ilu is forgiving- she pulls you through the water at a pace you’re good to deal with- but forget hunting. You do your best.
You are not pretty. Your hair stays pulled back unappealingly in a braided bun, and your bangs are straight and wispy. Your eyes are always skeptical, which you know throws many off. It’s not that you can’t smile and play nice- you just like to figure people out.
But to know how you look, how you just… lack the attractiveness that Tsireya seems to exude so easily, it hurts you. Especially when you feel like you like someone, and they could never feel the same about you, because you’re just impossibly awkward.
Still, you miss him. You miss Neteyam. You wish you had, just this once, taken the risk- told him that you like him. He was always responsible, strong-hearted. The only one to ask if you were okay or how you were doing, and he would actually listen. It never felt like he was just passing time, or waiting for you to get on with it, the way many Na’vi males do. Like the way he might as a big brother to little Tuk, but with you, he was always kind. Neteyam always seemed to wait back for you, even when others had moved on, and you had never, not even once, told him how that important that was for you.
And now you are desperately alone, all over again. It’s been about three months since he died, and you have never felt more empty.
You will never be Seen. Not in the way that Tsireya and Lo’ak See each other.
“Do you ever feel like you just haven’t acted soon enough? Like you haven’t done enough with your life?” You blink, and suddenly tears are rolling down your cheeks. You didn’t realized you were near tears. Neteyam’s death had affected everyone so heavily.
“Kanu, no…” She leans in, and wraps her arm around your shoulders. “You are not worthless. Our Great Mother has a purpose for us all .”
It’s a fear you’ve voiced plenty of times before, but Tsireya is always patient, always ready to fight your words.
“I don’t think so.” You shake your head, and then slump down into your knees, your eyes fluttering as you cry. “Kanu, they named me. My mother said it was so I would always be smart, be wise about things, but who would have thought that meant being so… so weak?”
“Being sensible isn’t being weak.” Tsireya tries to remind you gently. “You are careful, but what is wrong with that? Have you seen how Lo’ak and Aonung are ready to fight at every moment one looks at the other the wrong way?”
“I guess so…” You wipe some of your tears, and she squeezes your hand with a familiar warmth. “Still. I wish I was like you, Reya.”
She shakes her head, but smiles. “I think you are better than you think. You have a beautiful mind, my friend.”
/
Tsireya leads you back to the Sully marui, and Lo’ak is currently chasing Tuk around, as she shrieks in unabashed joy. She gets scooped up by Tsireya, and immediately hugs her tightly.
That’s the kind of effect Tsireya seems to have on everyone.
Lo’ak, too, leans in, brings his arm around her shoulders, and they look like a picture. One happy family of three. Tsireya the doting mother to Lo’ak’s teasing fatherly nature, and Tuk as the little scoundrel.
That could never be you. It leaves a small lump in your throat, to think of how you might never meet your better half- you will probably always be cooped up in your own marui, lying in the hammock, dreaming of a better world. And the sad thing is that you know there is a chance this is your own doing, but you are just too scared to do anything else.
You are a coward. A fnawe’tu.
Tsireya and Lo’ak don’t seem to help, all wrapped up in their own little bubble of understanding and Seeing each other, as they seem to communicate something in glances that only the two of them understand, but Tuk clues in to your bad mood.
“What’s wrong, Kanu?” She pouts and sits next to you.
You smile sadly. The girl is too young to really feel the extent of grief, just yet. She means well, though, and you cannot let her feel the full nature of your sorrow. It would not be fair.
Kiri answers for you, as she sits against a pillow, observing the oceans outside. “We’ve been through a lot, Tuk. It’s going to be a while until everyone feels alright again.”
“Yeah, Tuk.” You smile with a little more kindness, trying to muster up understanding. She’s still lost her biggest brother, and that has to hurt. “Little Tuktirey. Are you doing alright?”
Tuk nods, but she suddenly climbs into your lap, wrapping her arms tightly around around you, her face nuzzling into your neck, and it’s all you can do not to cry in the little girl’s arms.
“I miss Neteyam.” She whispers, and you hug her back, stroking the braids of her hair. "I miss home."
“We all do.” Kiri responds softly, and a brief silence overtakes the marui, everyone becoming solemn. Lo’ak and Tsireya sit next to Kiri, and you’ve formed a circle.
“Perhaps we should speak good memories of Neteyam, instead.” Tsireya suggests, and Lo’ak’s eyes flutter to a close. You can tell he’s trying to compose himself.
“He always knew how to protect us.” Lo’ak smiles. “When I first bonded with my ikran, Neteyam was supposed to stay back.”
“Ikran are supposed to try to kill you when you fight them,” He clarifies, seeing that you and Tsireya both look a little confused. “But Neteyam, that skxawng, he jumped over the barrier and tried to help me. Dad pulled him back.”
Lo’ak chuckles, and you find yourself giggling at the imagery. Of Neteyam leaping after his brother, convinced that he needed to, and Jake grabbing him by the arms. It would have been just like him.
“Neteyam always stood up for me.” Kiri responds honestly, and it’s all she seems to be comfortable with sharing.
“Neteyam helped me practise with my knife.” Tuk motions with her hands, a quick slicing gesture, snarling, and you pretend to die as she giggles. “He said I was gonna be a good hunter one day.”
“You will.” You fixate on your hands. “Neteyam always… well, he always listened. I never felt like I had to talk fast with him to be heard.”
“To be Seen.” Tsireya adds, and you don’t want to disagree with her. But you don’t think Neteyam really saw you.
There just wasn’t enough time.
/
A loud conch shell wakes you up, and you accidentally smack Kiri in the face as you do.
“Watch it!” She yawns, before pulling herself up.
You don’t usually fall asleep so easily. But you were so comfortable yesterday, playing games and sharing stories with everyone, that you did not feel as lost as you usually do.
Tuk snores away, wrapped up on her pillow, and you and Kiri decide to leave her.
There’s always work to be done on the reef. Repairing the marui, weaving with your hands, making large batches of tsiki stew, helping Tsahik Ronal with healing the wounded. Some of the people are still in very poor shape.
It takes the whole village on these days to get things even a little further with progress. It makes you resent the Sky People even more.
A bitter part of you wishes Neteyam had merely been wounded. Then he would still be here.
But you know better than that. You know that you have much to be thankful for, and you know that Eywa can only protect so much. In the great balance, energy has to be given back. That will always be the Na’vi way.
Kiri, in her own strange way, always seems attuned to things you cannot sense or see. She alway seems to know something, past your comprehension, and the best answer she has for it is an energy, a wave length, a heartbeat. Eywa is all around us, Kiri always tells you, and you know she is right.
Lately she has been giving you more attention, too. It’s like she can tell something about you, and you are glad for it. Glad that you can cling onto Kiri for the time being, because she understands so much even if she can’t quite say it.
“Want one?” She sits next to you on the edge of the shore, holding some niktsyey. Food wraps.
You’re not always so hungry as of late, but you know it’s a nice gesture. Kiri and Neytiri are always preparing, wrapping food out of various meats and vegetables, and it feels like they’re just searching for something to do. To be busy.
As a result, they have a lot of excess.
You take it, and unwrap the leaf, biting into a juicy bit of payoang- fish of the reef- and some grains you’re not sure you’ve ever had before. It’s good, better than anything you’ve eaten in a while.
“You like it?” She grins, and you respond with a “Mm-hmm!”, your mouth entirely full. “The grains are from home.”
At the word home, she sounds a little sad.
“Is this a traditional Omatikayan dish?” You try to cheer her up, maybe bolster her spirits with some memories. “It’s amazing.”
“Yes. Grandmother always made it better than I do. And we usually use teylu, too. Insect meat.” Kiri admits, twiddling her fingers. “We brought a lot with us… you could try making it, if you wish.”
You do have an affinity for cooking- but you’re much better with large stews and soups. You know Kiri is just trying to suggest something nice, though, and you agree that one day you should do that. Together.
It’s nice to have a friend.
/
About a week later, Tsireya is horribly insistent that you come with her, Lo’ak, Kiri and Tuk to the Cove of Ancestors, to the Spirit Tree. The boy, Spider, one that you don’t know so well- he dislikes having to be away from things like this, but even he insists that you should go.
“I just- I don’t feel like it, that’s all.” You try, but Lo’ak shakes his head.
“You cannot reject Eywa, Kanu. You'll lose yourself." Lo'ak says, uncharacteristically serious, but he's had to grow a lot during Neteyam's absence.
"We know you're hurting." Tsireya stands next to him, and something about her use of we strikes you, deep in your heart, making you feel more like a loner than ever before. Her and Lo'ak seem like such a team now.
"It would help, don't you think?" She continues. "So you know you're not… alone. The ancestors will hear you."
You can tell it confuses them. Your great sorrow, how you seem to desperately hold onto it. But lately it's felt like all you've ever known, and you do not know how to explain that, that you feel comfort knowing yourself like this. At least it makes sense.
It is a strange predicament that seems hard to explain.
"She's not alone." Kiri corrects her, which Tsireya takes gracefully. "Kanu has us."
It's true, and so you let yourself be cajoled and ride your ilu towards the Cove of Ancestors, where the underwater tree resides. Kiri is not supposed to join her tsaheylu to the Tree anymore, so she watches on, looking slightly wistful.
You're scared as you dive underwater. You don't know what the ancestors might say if they hear your sadness. How you shouldn't be so sorrowful when Neteyam meant more to others, and you have nothing to truly be very upset about. But Tsireya and Lo’ak nod at you, so you know you have to do it.
You grab your tsaheylu, and gently brace yourself, as if it's going to hurt- and you let the tendrils bond into the tree's swaying branches. Your eyes close.
You are brought forward, so quickly that you're not quite sure what's happening, until suddenly you're on very solid ground.
You think you feel grains of sand, but really- it's more dense than that, and you open your eyes.
Dark green foliage, leaves and trees and massive tree trunks, and interestingly colored flora surrounds you.
This must be the Omatikaya forest, you think. You've never been there before. You've never had such a strong vision in the first place. Anytime you’ve made the bond with the Spirit Tree before, you usually hear your grandmother telling you that she's proud of you.
You watch as a flying lizard floats down in front of you, the spinning of its ribbed body causing you to follow it. You're not very familiar with this place- it's apparent in how your arms sway with confusion, and how your tail seems to drag behind you, instead of properly keeping your balance like the Omatikaya's do.
You trip over a branch and fall forwards into a small riverbed. The water tastes different- it's not as salty as the beaches you are familiar with. But you feel a strong, limber arm grab your own thick forearm, and you are pulled upwards as you stand.
"Kanu?" Neteyam stands in front of you, and you are gutted to see him. He looks the same as when you lost him, still alert, and even now he scans your body for damage. "You okay?"
"Neteyam…" You whisper, and your eyes water almost instantly. This is not what you wanted. You never expected to see him again, and you feel humiliated by everything surrounding you.
It's as if you’ve walked into a memory that was not made for you. You are of no importance, especially not here, not now, not with him. Why would Eywa bring you here?
"Hey, hey. It's gonna be okay." He says comfortingly as you cry, and you think you should be comforting him. "Whatever happened, it will be okay."
He hugs you, just a gentle sidearm hug, and you begin to sob.
"I'm sorry- I'm sorry-" You wail, and he furrows his brows, not understanding.
"Why?" He grabs your hands. "Why are you sorry?"
It dawns on you that Neteyam doesn’t know. He doesn’t understand that he's dead, away from the real world. It's such a convincing vision, this place.
It’s not your story to tell, is it? What would Jake Sully say? Neytiri, too, she would be disappointed to know that you leapt so forward, into telling their oldest son that he no longer walked among you.
But you cannot help yourself.
"You're… you're gone, Neteyam. Dead. You're not really here." You feel that he deserves to know, and he stiffens. "You are with Eywa now."
You can see him scrambling to answer, his eyes flickering from you to the forest, but his voice fails him. He cannot explain your appearance in the Omatikaya forest, let alone him being here when he was just at the reef, so it makes sense.
Neteyam shuts his eyes.
“That’s why-” He chokes up, and you feel him shudder next to you. “That’s why Dad was so happy to see me.”
It’s a sadness that overwhelms you. The thought of a father having to pretend that everything was alright, so not to alarm his son. You see Neteyam cry, and it’s so unlike how Neteyam usually was back home, that you feel yourself reach over to wrap your hands around his.
“It’s not your fault, Neteyam.” You whisper, and you’re glad you finally have the courage to say that much before you’re suddenly brought back, away from the cool winds of the forest, and into the cool ripples of the ocean. The last thing you see is Neteyam’s eyes, searching for you as you vanish from his sight.
/
Kiri and Tuk have already gone back home.
Tsireya and Lo’ak don’t ask many questions when you come to, even though you’re sure you look insane, totally stupefied by what you saw. You know Eywa doesn’t do things for no reason, but you’re still confused.
You just tell Tsireya that honestly, you do feel better, because it’s all you can say without sounding crazy. Because it doesn’t seem fair that you, a mere acquaintance of Neteyam’s, would end up being the one to visit him again. You know Lo’ak hasn’t seen him yet, even though he tries every week or so.
It would be the worst thing to tell them the truth about it.
Tsireya pats your arm. “I’m glad you’re feeling better, Kanu. The ancestors always know what to say.”
You smile, but you can’t help but feel that you’re lying to your best friend.
/
You visit again, two days later. You tell Tsireya that you are going to visit a different Metkayina village, where your cousins live- she doesn’t question you, as she’s too busy exploring the depths of the ocean with Lo’ak, Tuk and Kiri as of late- and even though your lie is so easily accepted, it makes you feel more outside to their circle.
But that’s okay for now. You just want to apologize to Neteyam, if Eywa lets you see him again.
When you make the bond with the tree, this time, you’re sent to what seems like one of your village’s marui- but this woven structure is high up in the air, tightly secured inside the branches of a tree. Maybe one of the largest trees you’ve ever seen.
You peer out the window, and seeing how far down the grass is, you jump back in fear, your legs suddenly shaking. You’re in no real danger, but it’s still terrifying, seeing little specks of blue that must surely be other Na’vi that have joined with Eywa.
“Hey. Take it easy.” Neteyam is behind you, and he pulls you by your arm, making the both of you sit on the flooring of the structure. “You look like you’ve seen Toruk.”
“Sorry- it’s just very high up.” You say, and your voice is shaky even though you try to stay calm.
“Of course.” Neteyam crosses his arms, nods his head, wise as ever. “You’re probably never stepped higher than the great branches of the sea trees.”
“Yes, that is true.” You still feel a minor tremor in your throat, so you pull your knees to your chest and huddle yourself down. You don’t want to be so high up- it’s as if you’re being forced to face too many things at once.
“Why are you here?” Neteyam asks, not in an accusatory tone, but just confused. “You've already told me what you wanted to say."
It's not all you wanted to say, but your face heats up at the idea of telling Neteyam that you like him, that you like how his big yellow eyes squinted at every possible detail when he was hunting, that he always used to do a headcount, not just of his siblings, but everyone including you when you headed out past the reef.
"I don't… I don't know." You shrug, and then look up towards the sky. "I feel that Eywa brought me here to apologize."
"Apologize?"
You turn to him, and Neteyam leans a little closer.
"I shouldn't have been the one to tell you." You utter so seriously that Neteyam’s brief smile disappears. "I'm sorry. It should have been your father. Or Lo'ak."
"No." Neteyam shakes his head. "They wouldn't have told me. My mom and dad pretend I'm not- I'm still alive, in some way, to them, you know? I cannot take that away from them. And I've never seen Lo'ak. He must feel like the worst son in the world."
"He's not angry at you, if that's what you think." You immediately interject, and Neteyam raises his eyebrows. "Lo'ak has grown a lot since you've been gone."
Neteyam sighs. "Things would be easier if I was still there."
"Of course." You gently touch his shoulder. "It's easy to say that, Neteyam. But you win some, you lose some. We wouldn't have learned so much if you were still here, and you wouldn't be able to rest."
Neteyam nods. "True. All energy is only borrowed…"
"And some day you have to give it back." You respond in turn.
Neteyam smiles. "Tell me how everyone is doing."
You tell him how Kiri is doing better than usual. She's become more resilient, being capable of controlling the nature around her in a way that doesn't quite make sense to you. Neteyam, too, doesn't know how to respond, but he says it's an interesting thought that a supposed freak like Kiri could be so useful. He laughs about how Aonung and Rotxo were shocked to see her move fauna around with just a wave of her hand.
You start to tell him about Tuk's knife practice, when suddenly you catch some of the leaves surrounding the vision shrinking. You're being pulled away. Back to the real Pandora.
Neteyam looks on in alarm. "Kanu!"
"One last thing- they all miss you so much!" You say genuinely, and as you get pulled away this time, you see Neteyam smile.
You just wish you could've included yourself in that.
/
The next time you visit Neteyam, he's in what seems to be a very intimate home setting, trinkets and blankets covering the setting. He’s combing back his grandfather's hair. You can tell it must be Neytiri’s father by the robes and beading he's adorned with.
You immediately sweep down into a deep bow. "Olo’eyktan."
"Kanu." The elderly man touches your forehead, blessing you. "Neteyam has told me much about you."
"Ah, Grandfather!" Neteyam cringes, visibly embarrassed by something you don't quite understand. Family can be like that.
"Please. Be on your way." Eytukan gives you his parting grace.
Neteyam is silent as you walk together through the forest, towards something that seems perpetually out of reach.
"What's wrong?" You ask, and Neteyam stands still, mulling over his words.
"My grandfather… he means well, but-" Neteyam sighs, exasperated. "But he does not understand that I never wanted to be Olo’eyktan. He keeps telling me what I am missing out on."
"Really?"
"Yeah, he never seems to hear what I'm saying-"
"No, sorry." You look at him with newfound interest. "You don't want to be Olo’eyktan?"
"Well, Kanu." Neteyam fixes his visor, and thinks about how cute you look when you stare at him this intensely, before clearing his throat and deciding it would be better to not. "If you were told you could only be one thing in your entire life, wouldn't you want something else?"
"Yes!" You exhale in excitement before calming down. "Everyday, I think about that."
You trail off to a silence, meaning to allow Neteyam to explain himself. But he gestures for you to keep going. Once the oldest sibling, always the oldest sibling.
"I've always been told. Be smart. Stay inside. Don't put yourself in harm's way if you don't have to." You murmur, and Neteyam can tell your parents have hammered that into your head. "I'm left feeling like I've never quite lived at all."
"Tell me about it." Neteyam agrees, rolling his eyes. "'Oi, Neteyam! Be responsible! Be a good role model for your siblings!' I never really got to be myself."
"Fair enough." You look at your surroundings, thinking about how this isn't really Pandora. "But you can be yourself now, can't you?"
"You would think so." Neteyam chuckles, slowing his pace down to a stroll. "But everyday I'm worrying about what those knuckleheads are up to."
"What if…" You smile at the idea. "I give you updates? Just little stories about them here and there?"
“That would be nice.” Neteyam agrees, but he twiddles with his fingers. “I only wish they would come to see me too.”
“Oh, Neteyam…” You hold your hand over his. “I’m sure they will one day. Lo’ak, Kiri, Spider and Tuk, I think they’re just not ready yet.”
He shakes his head. “I don’t know. We’ll see.”
Neteyam looks towards you, and gently fixes a strand of your hair behind your ears. “Just promise me you’ll tell me how you’re doing, too.”
/
Neteyam is quick on his feet the next time you see him. He pulls you towards him and you're on your way, running over tall tree branches and trunks.
"Where- are-" You narrowly dodge a large vine that swings towards your face. "Where are we going?"
"Ayram alusìng!"
The floating mountains.
You don't have time to ask. You’ve only heard of these in stories told by Jake and Lo’ak, and sometimes Tonowari, the Olo’eyktan, when he remembers travelling to the forests. You’re excited to see them- and you find that you’re not the only one, as Neteyam grasps your hand with intent and pulls you quickly alongside him.
Suddenly, the large vines and branches you were walking on are within an open space, connecting to tall floating mountains, and you take a moment to breathe in, and look at them. They’re so vast- so much bigger in breadth than you’ve ever imagined- and it’s beautiful, in a way that you can’t describe. You smile, and Neteyam grins looking at you.
“This is how I felt looking underwater for the first time.” Neteyam confides in you, and your eyes widen.
“This is way better than the underwater, Neteyam.” You cross your arms, and he laughs.
“Agree to disagree, then.” He motions towards the top of the mountain, and the vines that you must climb to get there. “Come.”
As you climb, and then reach the top, your legs shake for a moment, seeing just how high up you are. You pull yourself away from the edge of the cliff, before Neteyam grabs your hand.
"Hey. I'm not letting you go back home yet." He teases, and you feel yourself blush.
"Sorry." You swing your large tail, so used to wading through water, from side to side. "This wasn't made to balance in the air."
“Don’t worry.” Neteyam points to the sky, where Ikran fly and dive towards the ground. “They’re made for anything you could possibly do in the sky.”
“How are they-”
“How are they here?” Neteyam glances at you. You always seem to be on top of things, always asking the right questions. It’s kind of refreshing, because he doesn’t have to play dumb for you, like he might’ve with Lo’ak. Especially when nothing particularly interesting goes on here without you.
That’s not something he’d easily admit- that the highlights of his days in the afterlife is when you come to visit him. But it’s true. He looks forward to your banter, to that funny little scrunch you do with your nose when you’ve thought of something hilarious to say.
Even now, you stare at him, and Neteyam is a little too lost in your gaze to respond.
“...Neteyam?”
He shakes himself out of it. “Right. It sounds crazy, but… I think these are Ikran who have passed. They’ve joined Eywa.”
“How can you be sure?” You watch an Ikran screech and dive towards another, and they begin to fight. “Perhaps these are just more visions of Eywa’s.”
“You’re right.” Neteyam points to a bright turquoise blue Ikran, one that looks at him fondly when he waves. “But that one over there? Her name is Seze.”
“Blue flower?”
“Yes.” Neteyam waves back at her. “She was my mother’s Ikran. At least I think she is the same one, but I can’t be sure. She matches how my mother talked about her. And she responds to… Seze!”
Neteyam suddenly leaps over the rocky terrain, and approaches Seze, who turns to his call.
“Wait!” You try to call him back.
“Ikran are only supposed to fly with one person in their entire lives.” Neteyam climbs onto Seze’s back, and she allows him. “But I figure, if we’re dead, if all of this is with Eywa, then I guess that doesn’t matter here.”
He makes the bond with Seze, and her pupils widen before becoming still and small again. Then she shakes her wings, and approaches the cliff.
Neteyam pulls his headband down, and he tuts a war cry, before he and Seze drop off the cliff in a graceful dive.
“Neteyam!” You gasp in shock, and before you can stop yourself, you scramble near the edge of the cliff, lying flat on your stomach, letting yourself see if they’re okay.
And of course they are. Neteyam pulls up as Seze’s wings expand, and he does a few rotating flips in the air. He looks back, towards you, because he wants to make sure you’re watching. Yeah, Neteyam is showing off right now, but he never got to do that back in the Metkayina village.
He missed this. Missed flying, the wind in his hair. But most of all, he loves the look on your face- how you’re completely in awe.
He smirks at you, and you snort. The dorkiness of this guy, going out of his way to plan an elaborate scheme to show off something cool to you. And it is really cool, it just strikes you that Neteyam always does things that are in his control.
Lo’ak would’ve probably jumped off the cliff and onto an ikran to impress Tsireya,
Neteyam begins flying towards your cliff. He lets Seze land, and she chirps fondly at him as he dismounts.
"So, what'd you think?" Neteyam raises his arms in greatness, as if to accept accolades from you.
"That was insane. Totally amazing!" You giggle and clap for him, and he bows.
"Thank you, thank you." Neteyam leans in, as if he's telling you a secret that only you get to know. "So what do you think? Want to do your own Iknimaya? It's a rite of passage for the Omatikaya, but I think you could do it too. I mean, I don't know what would happen if a living person made tsaheylu with someone not-"
An ikran screeches, interrupting Neteyam, and you draw yourself back, frightened.
"Sorry. I can't." You rest yourself against the cliff wall, as you've been shaking from being so close to the edge, and Neteyam nods, expecting you to continue. "You must think I'm such a petulant child."
"Would a child really use a word like 'petulant?'" Neteyam tuts, and you scoff.
"No. But I'm pretty stupid, aren't I?" You look at the ground, feeling embarrassed that you're scared of such a thing. "Lo'ak says he did his Iknimaya as a child… what am I so afraid for?"
You look up at Neteyam. "I can never do anything right. I'll always end up hiding away out of fear."
"Fear is a sensible thing coming from you, Kanu ." Neteyam tightens the bindings around his arms, emphasizing your name and it's meaning. "And you're not stupid. It's alright to be afraid of things. Me, I was so scared when I first made tsaheylu with my ikran. I almost ran back into my mother's arms when I did it."
You stifle a laugh at the idea of little Neteyam running back towards his mother, Neytiri scooping him up and then putting him back out with the ikran.
"I know. It's funny, you can laugh." Neteyam smiles. "But you have to remember it took a leap of faith, of trusting myself, to do it."
"I say, don't be afraid to be uncomfortable." Neteyam holds your hand, and traces your thumb. "Take little steps here and there. Then, one day, you can do something more, and it won't be so bad. I'm sure you've grown more than you think."
It's classic Neteyam, to hit you with a bunch of advice right when you least expect it. There were plenty of times he would take the heat for Lo'ak, and then give a strict talking to him afterwards.
"You're right. Thank you." You admit softly, squeezing his hand back. "I do want to do more with my life."
"And you will." Neteyam nods, completely certain. "You're not stupid. I've never thought you were stupid."
You think of that for a moment, how certain he sounds in saying never. Did Neteyam really think of you before you even came to visit him? Before, when you all swam in the oceans of Pandora together, travelling through the corals and sea plants and the reef? Did he think about you, when there were far more interesting things to think about?
"Anyways." Neteyam clears his throat, suddenly shy. "Want to ride with me? On the back of Seze, I mean. I'll make sure you're safe."
"Why not?" You take his hand again. "Small steps."
Neteyam tells Seze to stay calm, and then sits on her back. He pulls you up, and then when you're sitting behind him, he wraps your arms around his waist.
You think about how warm, how real he feels, and then become a little sad knowing this isn't. That this is all happening in the Spirit Tree, not for real.
Neteyam cries out again, a high pitched sound meaning to go, and you both drop over the edge with Seze, as she dives and then flies around adjacent mountains. The green trees and leaves quickly shrink into tiny little dottings of green on the rocky terrain, and you widen your eyes.
You shriek in partial delight, mostly fear, and tighten your arms around Neteyam when he tells Seze to dive again. He snickers. He likes feeling your arms, though. It makes him feel warm all over, especially in his chest.
"It's fun, right?!" Neteyam shouts, and you laugh and say yes, even if your face is buried in his neck.
It's only around when Neteyam approaches a cliff to land at, that he feels your arms vanish from around his waist. He turns around, and realizes you've gone back to the real world.
/
When you go back this time, back to the village, Kiri and Tsireya are waiting for you. It’s past eclipse- everything is dark. Little bioluminescent fish roam through the water, and you stare at them for a moment, wondering what lie you could come up with now.
"Have a good time at the Cove?" Kiri crosses her arms, and you stop walking by the shore. "Yes, that's right. We know."
"Kiri…" Tsireya's tone is telling her to lay off. "I'm sure she didn't mean-"
"To lie to us? To avoid us?" Kiri huffs. "I thought you were our friend, Kanu."
"Wait, please. I can explain." You desperately interrupt her. “I am your friend.”
Kiri’s eyes soften. “Okay, then prove it.”
When you're back inside the marui, Lo'ak is waiting. Tsireya immediately takes his hand and sits next to him, which makes you frown.
“Kanu- it’s not that we’re mad about this, we just don’t understand.” Lo’ak says, and it’s as if he and Tsireya are already Olo’eyktan and Tsahik, leaders of a clan, stronger than you’ll ever be.
You hate being called out, but most of all, you hate how it comes from them. How they make such a resilient team. You are almost positive in the future that Lo’ak and Tsireya will lead the Metkayina.
“You don’t make time for us , anymore, Kanu.” Tsireya comes closer to you, and her eyes search yours, as if she wants to make sure you’re still you. "I miss you! I don't mind if the Cove of Ancestors brings you comfort. I just hope you're not angry with me."
You feel your eyes water. Of course you're not angry with Tsireya, but as you think it over a little, it's as if you began to pull away just because you assumed no one would notice if you were gone.
Clearly the opposite is true.
"I'm sorry." You utter quietly, and Tsireya touches your forearm, while Kiri touches your shoulder. "I didn't mean for things to get so out of hand. I don't hate you guys, and I never will. I just…"
You close your eyes, wondering if it's worth it. To tell the truth about why you've been disappearing. And a part of you feels so guilty, that you wanted to keep Neteyam just as your own private business, even though he's not your brother, and he means more to others. You have no right to keep him as yours.
"Ever since that first day you guys made me visit the Spirit Tree… I've been seeing Neteyam." You come clean, and you feel everyone gasp and move closer to you. "I don't know why. I'm sorry."
"Why would you keep that a secret?" Tsireya shakes her head, disappointed. "Do you not trust us?"
"Of course I do!" You don't know how to explain. "I… I just didn't think you guys wanted to know. I didn't know how to tell you without it sounding like I was special or something, or that I was leaving you out."
"But you did leave us out." Lo'ak finally speaks up, and you can see the conflict in his face, the anger he feels. "Why would Neteyam choose to see you ?"
" Lo'ak ." Kiri glares at him. "Stop it. She didn't mean it like that."
You feel your face turn warm, and your heart begins to ache. You don't want this. You don't want a fight.
"Whatever." Lo'ak rolls his eyes. "I wonder why I have never seen him."
"Don't worry, Lo'ak." Tsireya squeezes his shoulder. "I'm sure one day you will. Perhaps he is just working his way up to see you."
You know she doesn't mean it like that, but something about the way Tsireya comforts Lo'ak- how she asserts his importance over you, even though you were the first person Neteyam saw, after his parents- it makes you cry. You've never felt more unimportant in your life. You're a total mistake.
/
You don’t go to sleep very easily that night. You’re in your family’s Marui, and you toss and turn thinking about yourself. About your place in the world.
You know it isn’t right, but you want to ask Eywa why. Why she would let you do this, tear apart a family and become closer to Neteyam when clearly, it just isn’t meant to be anything. Maybe there’s a lesson you’re missing somewhere.
You never thought anyone really cared about you all that much. That you needed them more than they needed you. But you’re starting to think you’re wrong, that maybe most of this stuff is in your head. Why else would everyone miss you? Why else would they be so heartbroken that you didn’t tell them about Neteyam?
Kind of like Neteyam said. It’s all a leap of faith. You had to talk to Tsireya, Lo’ak and Kiri to find out.
You need to talk to him again. You absolutely cannot sleep, no matter how many times you shut your eyes and wrap your arms around yourself.
Your ilu chirps outside. And you take that as your sign to sneak out of your marui, under the bridging, and onto her back as she waits on the shore.
You wonder if anyone will be waiting for you there. You’re just slightly paranoid now.
But it’s just you, and the Cove, and the Spirit Tree, and you’re happy. You’re glad that you can talk to him one to one. Even if it’s a little selfish.
You make tsaheylu with the tree branch, and you feel yourself move quickly into the bioluminescent forest. It’s beautiful- you’re taken aback for a moment, seeing little lights and shiny things beam at you in the dark.
Neteyam is lying under a large leaf, staring up at the night sky, and the moons that occupy it. He doesn’t notice you until you’re sitting right next to him, hugging him extra hard for some reason.
“Whoa! Kanu-” Neteyam hugs you back. He was on the verge of falling asleep, but now he’s entirely awake. “What’s wrong? Why are you here?”
“Teyam- everything’s gone wrong.” You shut your eyes, and Neteyam tries not to feel too proud over the fact that you’ve given him a nickname, because you’re clearly upset. “I didn’t tell everybody -Tsireya, Lo’ak, Kiri, and Tuk- about you for a while, well, because- it just felt nice to have you for myself. I’m sorry.”
You sound incredibly guilty, but Neteyam shakes his head. “It’s not wrong. We are still people. We will never act with the best judgement, even if we know better.”
“I guess you’re right, but…” You murmur, and then move on to the next thing that’s bothering you. “You know how Lo’ak and Tsireya are all in love, right?”
“Right.” Neteyam nods and snickers a little. “Doesn’t really surprise me.”
You can’t be sure what Neteyam means by that, and you feel yourself grow a little annoyed. “Yeah, it’s not really surprising, is it? When Tsireya is so pretty, right?”
Neteyam blinks. He looks at you, and he can clearly see- you’re pissed off. He doesn’t know how he came off that way- Reya is like a sister to him- but it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t want to make you angry.
“Kanu.” He holds your hand, but you won’t look at him. “I don’t really care for Tsireya like that.”
“I know. I’m sorry.” You whisper, and he listens very carefully. “But it’s just that… everyone seems to think she’s beautiful, that everything about her is good and right and perfect, to the point where it seems like she is always being noticed, always has the first priority in every conversation, and I am always left behind. I am always left to answer last, to be heard after everyone else has already moved on. I wish I wasn’t so plain.”
“Hey. Stop it.” Neteyam tries to interject, but you keep going.
“And Tsireya and Lo’ak really drive me crazy now, because they act like such a team! Already like little future versions of the Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik.” You sigh, and you feel tears begin to run down your cheeks. “I know it’s selfish, and mean to say so- but I feel so worthless. Unimportant in comparison to them. I’ll never be Seen like that.”
Neteyam shuts his eyes. He really wishes he could be in the real world, so he could punch that skxawng Lo’ak for acting all old and mature, when really, he doesn’t know any better. But he feels bad. Nothing of what you’ve said is under other people’s control.
“I know what you mean, Kanu. As a big brother- I’ve always had to be watchful of others. I couldn’t be an idiot like Lo’ak, because I had to make sure he doesn’t get himself killed.” Neteyam swallows, not sure if you’re following, but you nod. “It didn’t make me less useful, right? Just because I was ‘behind’, like you’re saying?”
You wipe back some of your tears, and agree. “You’re right.”
“But you’ll never be useless, okay? I’ve seen how you always comforted Kiri when she was upset. How you would watch over Tuk when everyone else was more concerned with themselves. You’re not weak or dumb because you’re quiet, Kanu. You’re smart, just like your name says.” Neteyam decides to take it a step further, and you’re surprised that he even remembers, holds that much thought about you. “And you’re not nearly as plain as you make yourself sound.”
You feel your face and ears grow warm, and you look towards the ground, but Neteyam’s hands gently grasp your face, forcing you to look back up at him. His golden eyes are more soft, more kind than you’ve ever experienced from anyone else, and he clearly means it. You’re not imagining it.
“You’re beautiful.” Neteyam smiles at how you look a little taken aback, like you suddenly want to run away from all this attention, because you’re so shy. “I See you.”
And Neteyam leans in to kiss you, whispering sevin as he does- meaning pretty in Na’vi- and for once, you don’t tell him to stop, that it’s a mistake on his part- you just let it happen. His lips envelop yours, and it’s a much warmer feeling than you were anticipating, that Neteyam could be so close to you and you would feel like his.
He does not let go, letting his hands hold on to you for just a moment longer when he feels an urge to connect his tsaheylu to yours, and Neteyam moves back.
“Teyam?” You whisper, and he rests his forehead against yours.
“Listen. I think you’re amazing.” Neteyam sounds guilty. “And I wish you could stay here forever, with me, but that would be selfish.”
“Neteyam, c’mon.” You look at him knowingly, and he does smile. “I did the same thing. I tried to keep you as my own secret.”
“I think that’s adorable.” Neteyam snorts. “But I’m being serious. I think you should be with someone of the real world, someone who can actually exist alongside you. Not me.”
“This coming from a dreamwalker’s son?” You retort. “To Jake Sully, this was not the real world. And he still bonded with your mother.”
Neteyam can’t disagree with you on that, because you’re right. But it’s still not fair to you. He’s going to have to be the bad guy.
“You should go back.” Neteyam says, and even though as he’s saying this he should push you away, he hugs you instead. A parting hug. “A bond between us? A living girl and a dead boy? We know it’s wrong. It would never be as fulfilling as my mother and father. You would only be able to see me a few times a week.”
“But I want it to be you, Neteyam.” You shut your eyes, and hug him back. “I wish it was you.”
“I know.” Neteyam lets go, and you can see- there are tears building up in his eyes. “But this is not right. Please, Kanu, be smart. I know you know better.”
You stiffen, hearing the words that everyone seems to attribute to you. “Stop being so responsible, Neteyam.”
“Actually, I’m not. I’m not that responsible.” Neteyam grows bitter, and draws himself away from you. “I’m avoiding Lo’ak. Eywa calls me to see him, and I’m just so- angry - that I don’t go.”
You’re silent for a moment. “I didn’t know that was possible.”
“Well it is.” Neteyam shakes his head. “You’re too good for someone as angry as me, Kanu. You don’t deserve a dead boy who can’t even bother to see his brother. Who rejects Eywa. I’m not responsible.”
“Well, I’m not smart. I can’t be without you, even if I know it’s wrong.” You respond, and Neteyam watches as you get up, and walk away, your silhouette slowly vanishing as you leave the Spirit Tree.
Neteyam hopes you don’t mean you’re going to live a life of loneliness. He prays you can get over this. It’s not like him to be such a mistake- but something about you keeps him constantly yearning for this, to be around you in any capacity, if you would let him. That’s why he needs you to stay away.
He wonders if Eywa really does see this as wrong.

“Kanu! Wake up, wake up!” Tuk is shaking your shoulders, as you jostle yourself awake.
“Tuk.” You sit up, feeling the early sunlight peek inside your family’s marui. You’re still a little upset after your last conversation with Neteyam, and you fell asleep after crying for a bit. Your eyes are still puffy. Your mother is mending a loincloth- she waves at Tuk, who waves back- and you’re immediately yanked by Tuk towards the outside.
She jumps up and down on the bridging, giggling, and she yells: “Catch me, Kanu, catch me!”
Tuk, the silly girl that she is, begins to run, and even if you are a little depressed, Tuk doesn’t need that, so you run after her, your much longer legs allowing you to catch up and sweep her up into your arms. She squeals as you pretend to be a monster, growling and swinging her around, before suddenly allowing her to fly up in the air, throwing and tossing her.
She laughs loudly, and you remember watching Neteyam do this. No matter how tired he was, every time Tuk asked to be thrown in the air, he would do it. Always with a smile on his face, too.
“Kanu?”
You blink, watching Tuk look up at you from your arms. She’s not your sister, not your family. But you still love her. And you understand some of the reason why things can feel so empty now.
Without Neteyam, there’s a big gap, a lack of an older brother who knows exactly what makes his sister laugh and cry.
It’s not fair. It’s not fair that you could love someone like that so much, when he meant a lot to everyone. To bond with him would be extraordinarily selfish. You think you get it now, what Neteyam means by not limiting yourself to him, by allowing yourself to be a lot for everyone too.
“Ah, Tuktirey!” You hug her extra tight, and spin around and she wraps her arms around your neck, grinning.
You hear someone swim forwards from the shore. It’s Kiri and Tsireya, and they’re both holding a large fish between the two of them. Kiri places it with some heft into a net, and she ties it up.
But when they see you, they leave the fish and come towards you.
“Kanu.” Kiri touches your forearm. “Can we talk? Please?”
“Yes, of course.” You half-expect her to tell Tuk to leave, since this is more of a big person conversation, but the three of them sit with you on the shore.
“Kanu… I’m sorry. I should’ve been there for you.” Tsireya speaks up first, and you can tell from the way your friend is just barely uttering the words, she must feel horribly guilty. “I don’t know how you felt, seeing Neteyam again, but it must have been a big thing for you to do on your own. You are strong.”
“Am I, though?” You play with your fingers. “I love him. And I know that it’s wrong-”
“But you can’t help how you feel, can you?” Tsireya suddenly grins. “I knew it. I knew that he Saw you the first time we all met. He couldn’t take his eyes off you, he barely learned how to dive into the water.”
You blush, and then shove Tsireya as she giggles. “Stop that! It doesn’t make it less weird. Or more normal. Neteyam said that it would be wrong… the two of us, a living girl and a dead boy, choosing to be together.”
“So what?” Kiri holds her chest up with pride. “I’m a freak, too. I hear Eywa. It doesn’t make you any less of a person to be different.”
You nod, but you just think that Neteyam wouldn’t want this. He was pretty final on making you stay away.
“What does Tuk think?” Kiri says kindly, with a sisterly nature, because Tuk has been vying to speak for the last two minutes, constantly badgering her.
“I think it’s cool!” Tuk laughs, with a big smile, and she rolls around in the sand.
You’re grateful for the approval, even if it seems wrong, and you tell them as much.
“If it was really wrong, Eywa would not keep bringing you to him.” Tsireya decides. “Our Mother sees through it all.”
/
It’s easy to die, you find out.
All it takes is a lack of foresight in your movements. An Akula -a large Pandoran shark- attacks you as you and Kiri are swimming towards the fractal reefs deep in the water. She wanted to show you some of the floating jellyfish that made weird echoing sounds, like music, when she touched them. Even though you had lived in this village your whole life, you’d never seen anything like that.
The Akula approaches Kiri from behind, and you try to sign to her- move out of the way!- but it dives towards her too quickly. And before you know it, you dive forward and push Kiri out of the way.
“Kanu!” Kiri yells, air bubbles bubbling from her throat as she does, and it’s the last thing you hear before the Akula clenches it’s jaws around your body, it’s sharpest tooth impaling you through your chest. Everything in your vision blacks out.
Kiri panics and swims after the Akula, feeling her rage burn through her heart and into her veins, and she pushes that rage outwards, the dots and moles aligning her face lighting up in her anger. The coral and leaves that can be moved by Kiri, and her strange power, stretch towards the Akula, and it clings to it, while it shrieks in anger and drops your body.
Kiri gasps, seeing the blood ebb from your body, a red mist that expands through the water. The wound is too deep, from what she can see, and your dead weight is dragging you down into the depths of the water.
Kiri dives after you, grabbing your body, thinking the entire time, no, no, no , but it’s too late.
She comes up onto the shore, and Lo’ak is the first one to see her.
“Kiri?” He notices your body, and immediately goes into survival mode, pulling you with all his might. “We need to- we need to-”
“Put pressure on her wound.” Kiri looks down at you, and it’s so similar to how Neteyam died, she cannot help but feel a lump in her throat. Your blood has leaked and congealed into the sand. The wound is too deep, to the point where Kiri can see into your ribs. Your bright blue eyes are glazed over.
You are dead.
“No! Please, somebody! Help!” Kiri starts crying loudly, and she lies over your body, her tears flowing onto your neck. “Kanu…”
Lo’ak begins to cry, as well. He didn’t get to know you as well as he would’ve wanted to- but he promised himself he would apologize to you. You never meant any harm towards him.
/
Everyone is devastated.
Tsireya could not think clearly when she saw your body. She immediately felt her throat choke up, and she lay over you, shutting your eyes so you would at least look at peace.
Kiri is especially wrought with grief and agony, telling anyone that would listen that you saved her life, and it should’ve been her. Jake holds her back- he knows she’s a kid with a lot of fight in her- and Neytiri tells her to stay calm. That you wouldn’t have wanted her to do this to herself.
Tuk, especially, does not understand. It’s difficult to lose so many people and have to keep losing them in this way, at such a young age. She cries- she wants to see you again, but you’re gone. Lo’ak is the only one who can take care of her at this moment.
Your funeral ceremony is not just led by your mother and father. They recognize how deeply you have touched your friends’ hearts, and they allow them to give their blessings to you before you join the Spirit Tree.
Ronal and Tsireya cover up your wound with small sea flowers, allowing you to look more at peace, for your parents’ sanity.
Tsireya places a headdress made from seashells and vines on your head, and she kisses your forehead. She whispers, “I’ll see you soon.”
Kiri hugs you. She hopes you take care of Neteyam, and he takes care of you. That’s where you’re headed, she knows it.
Your body is tipped off the raft, into the underwater depths, towards the glowing golden tendrils of the Spirit Tree, where you are absorbed.
Tuk waves goodbye at you, crying from Lo’ak’s arms. He, too, salutes you.
/
You wake up in your family’s marui. Things seem different- the village feels more empty, hazy, like something just on the edge of your vision. It quickly clears up as you shake your head a bit.
You’re not sure what’s happened. Where is your mother? Your father?
Even as you leave the marui, onto the shores of the Metkayina village, less questions are answered. You don’t recognize any of the other villagers, you don’t see the Sully family, although a kind woman approaches you, looking understanding of your obvious confusion.
You begin to run- you don’t know why- but something about how off everything is makes you run. You want to leave.
You see someone on the shore, in front of the sunset. A tall boy, with darker blue skin, long braided hair, a skinny tail- it must be Neteyam. You nearly knock him over when you walk into him.
“Kanu?” Neteyam holds your arms, and he’s immediately horrified. Every other time he’s seen you, you were there, but you were obviously a vision of some sort- not quite there, just a little off. This time, though, it’s different. You’re clearly there, clearly real in a way he never quite felt before. He can’t articulate this difference- he just sees that you’re really you.
He knows you must have joined him in Eywa, and you’re bound to feel the grief and rage he did when he realized. When you told him.
You’re so confused, wondering why you can see Neteyam again, because the last thing you did- you didn’t go to the Spirit Tree, you were swimming with Kiri- it suddenly dawns on you what must have happened. The last thing you can really, truly recall.
You burst into tears, crying desperately, and fall to your knees on to the shore, water splashing around you. You know now. You understand that you’re dead.
He kneels with you, and pulls you into a hug, your head laying against his chest as you sob, thinking of how you would always be on the other side now.
“It’s okay, Kanu.” He tries, and you continue to cry. “It’s going to be okay. It’s just painful right now.”
“I’m really here with you?” You finally choke out, trying to see something positive in the bigger picture.
“I’m here. I’m really here.” Neteyam says, stroking your head, and you feel your tears subside a bit. “You’re not alone. You’ll never be alone.”
/
Being with Eywa is not as strange as you would think. For one thing, the afterlife is relatively peaceful. There’s no risk of dying a second time- so you think, and Neteyam laughs at you when you ask the question- and you cannot leave his side now that you know you’re in the same place.
You visit your grandmother together. She’s at first a little unamused about the idea of an afterlife-bonding, calling it “strange,” especially seeing how Neteyam is part of the Omatikaya, and you are apart of the Metkayina, but she’s not actually against it and she likes how Neteyam was immediately respectful towards her, bowing down deeply despite being the son of a Toruk Makto.
It also doesn’t matter so much here. You can sort of do whatever you want, and that kind of unbridled freedom allows you to do so much more. To jump into the water without worrying about sharp rocks, to dive off of an Ikran without worrying about potentially falling to your death. Eywa won’t let you, because you’re at peace now.
“Isn’t it funny that I would have never done all this back in real life?” You ask, sitting in Hometree with him, and Neteyam snorts.
He’s braiding your hair in a traditional Omatikayan style, at your request. “Yeah, because you’d be at risk of dying. It’s because you’re smart.”
Neteyam finishes by placing a sea flower in the back of your braids, to show where you come from, and then pulls you to your feet.
Neteyam is very proud of you. Even though he wishes that you didn’t have to die- you did what you wanted to do with your life. You saved Kiri, and to him that was special.
“Does it look nice?” You motion to your head, and turn around a few times.
“It always looks nice. And by extension, so do you.” Neteyam smiles at you, and you squeeze his hand.
Neteyam brings you deep into the trees of the forests, where he grew up alongside his siblings, and together you sit down.
“Oel ngati kameie.” Neteyam says, pointing his hand towards you, and you do the same. You know what he means now- he’s told you openly how often he thought of you before he had even died, and how much he does recognize you in all your worth.
Then, almost as if it’s purely instinct, he reaches towards his tsaheylu, and connects it to yours.
The only thing you feel is love.

into it | sadistic!eddie x masochistic!reader 18+
Summary: eddie comes home from a long, frustrating day of work and you so happen to be yearning for a beating.
Word Count: 1.7k
Warnings: eddie’s really really mean, each party has consented + reader & eddie have a free use agreement, sadomasochism (duh), creampie, blood, heavy degradation, aftercare 18+ NO EXCEPTIONS
A/N: hi!! i’ve posted fics before (see @angelsvirtualarchive) and i was itching for a good mean eddie fic so i wrote one! this is an intense fic with rlly no plot <3 r just really likes to be hurt and eddie loves dishing it out!
Eddie comes home, his day was long and frustrating and he spots you on the couch, watching your show in tiny clothes wrapped up in your blanket. Without words, he beckons you over to his feet and you scramble over without hesitation, sitting on your knees. You don’t know what’s coming, you just know Eddie needs you. He flashes you a quick smile before his fist connects with your cheek, knocking you to the ground.
“Green,” You manage to get out while pushing yourself upright again, letting him know you’re ready to take his beating.
His foot slams into your shoulder and presses you into the floor as he steps forward, spitting in your face.
“You’re such an eager thing, aren’t you? So desperate to give your pain to me.”
Eddie doesn’t even let you respond before his heel is shoved into your cheek, grinding it down until your skin splits. The impact causes your teeth to bite into your tongue and spill blood in your mouth and down your face. You shove against his leg, trying to get him off of you but it only results in a blow to the side, making you cry out.
“Shut up,” he scolds as he removes his foot, shuffling to yank off your shorts. Revealing your bare cunt, he chuckles before grinding his shoe against it. The action pulls a moan from you, pathetically chasing the friction you so desperately want. Eddie removes his foot from your cunt only to rain down kicks into your plush thighs, his pupils blown wide underneath his curly bangs. His kicking causes more cries to come out, blood dripping down your chin from his assault on your cheek.
On a quick thought, you begin to push yourself away from him and turn to crawl towards the bedroom but Eddie’s fast on his feet. You could feel his demeanor change as you tried getting away. His large hand wraps around your ankle and pulls you as hard as he can back to him, causing the carpet to rip friction burns on your bare legs.
The cries you let out from the pain only fuels Eddie on.
“Pl-please, daddy! I’m sorry!” You cry, despite doing everything he asked of you tonight.
Eddie only laughs, flipping you over to be on your back again, placing his boot right back against your aching cunt.
“Sorry for what, bitch? Sorry you’re a pathetic loser that gets off on her boyfriend beating her? Sorry you’re making a mess on my boot? Huh?” He taunts as he pulls back his boot, the toe of it shining with your slick.
“Clean it, mutt,” He demands.
You know he means it, his jaw is sharp and his eyes are black, so you scramble onto all fours and bend down, keeping eye contact with him as you clean your mess off of his shoe. You catch the quietest chuckle before his hands are in your hair and he’s yanking you back like a doll.
“You *really* are so fucking pathetic! I bet your parents would be ashamed of you, licking my boot like a fuckin’ dog.” Eddie scoffs, spitting in your face once more.
His hands remain in your hair, holding your head back, an evil smile gracing his lips. He removes one hand from your hair to hover it above your cheek, laughing when you try and flinch away. Eddie’s hand stays curled in your hair, making it hard for you to go anywhere. His free hand finally lands on your cheek, a sting ringing through your face.
“Sir, please!” Your voice wavering as you pleaded, hand coming to wrap around Eddie’s wrist, tear tracks staining your cheeks.
The hand tangled in your hair tugs to lift your chin up, Eddie leaning to ghost his lips over your ear, whispering, “If you want to stop, you know what to say.”
He gives you a moment, letting the thought of signaling your safe word roll around in your head.
“Green, sir.” you mumble, breathless and needy.
Your response pulls a smirk from Eddie, his hand releasing your hair which causes you to collapse against the floor.
“Get up, strip and go sit on the bed, now,” it wasn’t a suggestion, Eddie’s voice deep and stern.
Without hesitation, you push yourself to your feet and begin dropping your remaining clothes on the floor. Your hands trembled as you tucked them behind your back and walked on shaky legs to the bedroom.
Settling onto the bed, you perched yourself on your knees and folded your hands in your lap, assuming proper positioning. You heard Eddie’s heavy footsteps and the clinking of his belt buckle, feeling heat flood between your thighs at the thought of a belting.
Eddie appeared in the doorway, dark lust filled eyes drinking in your naked frame.
“Finally, the stupid puppy listens,” he states, belt in his hand, “Bend over the bed, hands behind your back.”
Not wanting to push his buttons any longer, you do as you are told and lay with your hands clasped behind my back and your holes on full display for him. you gasp as his hands find home on your ass, squeezing and pinching the fat of it.
“Now, here’s how this is going to go. You, pet, are going to lay here and take ten lashings from the belt and then I’m going to fuck you. If you cum without permission, you won’t cum for the rest of the week. Am I understood?”
You nod eagerly, keeping your hands tight behind your back.
“Words, stupid girl, use your words,” he demanded.
“Yes! Yes, daddy, I understand.”
With a short ‘mhm’, he placed his left hand atop your back and immediately landed three hits, your ass turning red and skin starting to split already from the impact of his heavy handed actions.
Your eyes rolled back, three consecutive ‘uh uh!’s fell from your lips, hands squeezing together as the warmth of the pain made your cunt ache more.
“Color, princess?”
Despite being mean, he knew he needed to check in after the first hits.
“Green, daddy,” you slurred, drool muddling your speech.
“Okay, baby, signal if needed,” he started before raising his hand again, “because i’m going to give you 3 more back to back.”
You signaled for him to go ahead, bracing yourself for the nasty sting. The leather belt hit thrice on your ass, the tops of your thighs and one particular hit made it wrap around the hip and split skin there. The hits made you bite down on the comforter and tears rolled down your cheeks, knowing that if you cried out again the last four would be even worse.
Your ass was throbbing and you could feel blood trickling down your thighs alongside your cunt dripping. The pain was intoxicating, but what came next was better.
You must’ve been in your head for a minute too long because next thing you know, Eddie’s fingers are in your cunt and pressing his other hand against the blistered skin of your ass.
“You’re this wet just being hit? How pathetic.” he groaned, curling his fingers up into your sweet spot, eliciting a moan from you.
He picks up the belt again, this time folding it in half, “Open your palms.”
“Nonono, daddy please, no,” you begged and tucked your hands underneath you, knowing the last four were going to be genuine punishment with no pleasure.
“I said,” Eddie began as he pulled his fingers out from your cunt and yanked your hands from underneath you, “open your fuckin’ palms.”
You whined at the loss of his fingers, but reluctantly gave him your open palms and braced yourself for the pain. He positioned your hands on your butt and gave them two hits, confusing you for a moment but then he spoke.
“You try and run from me again, it’ll be four on your palms. But, you’ve taken everything very well and I’m proud of you so I’m sparing you the last two.”
Blinking away tears, you rush out a string of thank yous before bringing your hands up and blowing cool air on them in attempt to calm the fiery sting.
Eddie tapped your thighs then clicked his tongue, silently asking you to roll onto your back to which you obliged, pulling your legs up to my chest to give him easier access. Without a beat, he slid his cock into your cunt with ease, groaning aloud.
“No matter how many times I fuck you, you’re just as tight as the first.”
His words made you whine, big puppy eyes looking back at him as he began to build up rhythm. His hands stayed on your thighs, eyes focused on watching where your bodies connected.
The feeling of the comforter against the split skin of your ass and the delicious drag of his cock against your sweet spot made you dizzy; it felt intoxicating. Your hands held gently onto the bedding, careful not to irritate the already angry skin, but your cries were loud enough for the neighbors to hear. His hand snaked between our bodies, middle and ring finger circling expertly over your swollen clit. The pleasure and pain radiating from the lashing mixing together was building up an orgasm faster than you expected. You soon turned into nothing but a babbling mess, trying my best to get your words straight.
“Daddy! ‘m gonna cum soon, please please can I cum?”
Without a verbal answer, he placed his hand around the fat of your ass and squeezed as he continually pounded into you, knowing the pain would send you over the edge.
You managed to get the first syllable of a thank you out before you were cut off by yourself, crying out as your orgasm hit you. You could vaguely hear Eddie grunt as he finished with you, feeling a familiar warmth pour inside you.
The comedown was heavy. Your eyes stayed closed, mind drifting off towards sleep, knowing full well Eddie’s wandered off to get the special first aid kit and clean you up.
Right before you go to sleep fully, you feel him slip next to you and pull you right into his arms, kissing your forehead.
“You did so, so good, pup. I’m so proud of how well you handled it, I think you deserve ice cream later. get some rest, I’ll be here.”
And with an even softer ‘i love you’ being whispered, you fell asleep.

Alfons Sylvatica
Story Event: I want to steal you
Chapter 3 Premium
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
NSFW. Enter at your own risk cause it's getting Alfons-kind-of-steamy. That double-take comment wasn't an exaggeration. You know he's going to misbehave. Enjoy!
~~Part 1~~
Alfons: "Since Liam is not around, I don't want to waste this rare opportunity to do all sorts of shameless, dirty things to you."
Alfons: "Now that our mission is complete, let's extend our date. It's going to be a fun, fun night, am I right?"
Continuing to smile mischievously, Alfons took me to an unexpected place.
~~~
(The Scala...?)
This was the theatre Liam was affiliated with.
(Why are we here, of all places...)
Alfons: "Look, there's a poster of Liam."
Alfons: "Stage production of `Midsummer Night's Dream` with Liam being a stand-in for Puck."
Kate: "Oh, that's right."
On the poster, Liam looked more confident and had a broad smile.
Lady with curly hair: "I can't believe Liam is performing tonight. We're so lucky!"
Freckled lady: "Our love is going to reach him, I'm sure. Ah, he's so attractive..."
Alfons: "He's indeed the leading actor of the Scala. He could easily take over the whole country, based on his popularity alone."
The image of Liam as a ruler of Britain briefly crossed my mind, but the idea was so implausible that I couldn't help but laugh.
Kate: "It's nice to come here, but we don't even have tickets to the play..."
Alfons: "That's not a problem. I believe William is the patron of this theatre."
Alfons: "Just mention his name and you'll soon have a Royal Box or two, I'm sure."
Kate: "Hey..., wait a moment."
~~Part 2~~
Alfons shook his raven black hair and went to get the tickets.
His actions had always been surprising, and their meaning was difficult to grasp.
That's why I couldn't stop thinking about his words, wanting to know his true intentions.
(Actually... I might be glad I followed him here)
For me, a visit to the theatre, a place I loved, was a reward,
It would likely ease the sound of gunshots in my ears and the pools of blood in my memory, even if just a little.
Alfons: "I have two tickets, Kate. You're Count Rex."
He waved the tickets in his hand, staring at my face.
Alfons: "You're fond of the stage performances, yes?"
Kate: "That's... You're right..."
Alfons: "Then let's enjoy it. Come, dear Robin."
~~~
We were shown to the Royal Box, something I had never been fortunate enough to experience before.
While I was admiring the luxurious environment, the announcement that the play was about to begin carried through the theatre.
Before long, a spotlight flashed on the stage --.
(Oh...it's Liam)
Liam appeared as the fairy Puck, flying, jumping, and wreaking havoc on stage.
The audience was mesmerised by his performance and the venue was filled with cheer.
Normally, I would forget about everything else in my daily life and become completely engrossed in the show,
....but lingering anxiety and fear were holding me back from enjoying it fully.
The more I tried to forget, to concentrate on the stage, the more I became entangled in the dark sensation.
(...I'm so frustrated. Liam is giving his all)
(I really want to enjoy the wonderful performance that everyone at the Scala is putting on)
It hurt to have a shadow cast over the things I loved.
Feeling sorry for myself, I looked down,
-- only to see Alfons' hand intertwine with mine at the same time.
(Huh...?)
~~Part 3~~
His leather-gloved fingers intertwined with mine.
As I instinctively turned to look at Alfons, who was sitting next to me, he whispered softly.
Alfons: "...it doesn't make sense if you take your eyes off the stage. You should look straight ahead, don't you think?"
(Well, of course that's true but...)
I leaned over to Alfons and whispered so as not to disturb the people nearby watching the show.
Kate: "....Alfons, why are you holding my hand?"
Alfons: "I told you before, didn't I? `There's nothing more enjoyable than a love affair that has been snatched away from someone else`."
Alfons: "-- as it happens, this seems like a perfect place to make a move."
Kate: "... perfect place?"
Alfons: "This is your favourite stage; Liam, whom you trust, is performing in front of you. So whatever I do..."
He lifted my hand and kissed the tips of my fingers.
Alfons: "You have no choice but to be quiet, don't you?"
Kate: "Hey, this is a theater. Don't mess with me......nn.."
The lips that had left my fingertips now touched my ear.
His wet tongue ran over its rim, followed by his hot breath... and then."
Kate: "...a-ah"
The soft, coaxing bite made me jump in my chair.
Alfons: "Shhh. I told you to look ahead. Besides, Liam will notice, won't he?
Kate: "....ngh."
~~Part 4~~
Prompted by his words, the moment I turned my gaze to the stage, I could feel his fingers slip between my legs,
His nails traced over my skin, leaving a stinging trail behind.
Taking pleasure in my response, the tips of his fingers teased my sensitive parts in a circular motion...
(...ngh, no, not here...)
Alfons: "...do you feel it? It's okay if it makes you feel better."
Alfons: "...forget everything and just enjoy yourself."
His fingers tightly squeezed my bud through my underwear.
I was desperate to keep my voice down so that people around me wouldn't notice.
Again and again, I was drowning in so much sweet pleasure that I forgot where I was --.
~~~
The play ended to a loud applause,
As soon as I got up from my seat, I rushed to Alfons feeling indignant.
Kate: "Ugh, Alfons!"
Alfons: "What's the matter? Are you so overwhelmed with emotions after a wonderful performance that you want to scream?"
Alfons: "In that case, I'll scream with you. It sounds like fun."
Kate: "... that's not it!"
Alfons: "Then you must be eager to express your gratitude to Liam?"
Kate: "...ugh, why did you do that?"
Kate: "In the theatre, and in front of Liam..."
Alfons: "Ah, that's what you meant."
Alfons: "It seemed you couldn't concentrate on tonight's show, so I thought you'd appreciate my effort to entertain you."
(I couldn't concentrate on the play...)
(...I tried not to show it on my face)
I felt miserable, unable to enjoy the performance as I was dragged down by my own dark emotions.
At that moment, I was desperately trying not to be noticed by anyone.
(However, if Alfons... had noticed)
~~Part 5~~
I felt miserable, unable to enjoy the performance as I was dragged down by my own dark emotions.
At that moment, I was desperately trying not to be noticed by anyone.
(However, if Alfons... had noticed)
Was the earlier behaviour an attempt to keep me from feeling down?
I wavered between thinking that it couldn't be true and feeling that it might be --
Kate: "... thank you."
Alfons: "..."
(Why am I thanking him...)
Alfons: "Haha! My dear, you truly are a pervert, aren't you?"
Alfons: "I took you to a decrepit building and then played with you in a busy theatre, and you're thanking me?"
Kate: "---! Please, don't be so eager to make fun of me."
(You're always so random and halfhearted, so phantom-like, hiding your true intentions, and yet...)
*flashback starts*
Alfons: "That man needs to forget the reality."
Alfons: "You're starting to realise that, aren't you?"
*flashback ends*
(I'm sure he's not insensitive to the subtleties of people's hearts)
When I wanted to protect the dream of an old man who lived alone with the ghost of his dead wife,
I sensed that Alfons shared my feelings.
Kate: "There was a reason for dragging me around and messing with me, wasn't there?"
Alfons: "Why do people think everything must have a lofty reason?"
Alfons: "It doesn't matter what the reason is. I just fill my life with pleasure and excitement because it's convenient."
Kate: "...."
Alfons: "What's with that wistful look on your face?"
Alfons: "Could it be that you've lost your heart to me?"
Kate: "That's..."
(Why can't I just deny it right away?)
Alfons: "Ah, Liam is already making his way here."
Alfons: "There, he found you. He seems happy to see you."
When I struggled to find the words to reach reach him, Alfons smiled at me like a demon teasing a mortal.
Alfons: "Then I'll leave you be."
Alfons: "If you feel like doing something fun behind Liam's back, please let me know."
(Ah...)
Alfons' silhouette faded into the darkness and disappeared from view like a phantom.
As if catching the lingering scent of illusion, my eyes kept chasing him.
kittens and heroes and unconditional love
I wrote something!!! I wrote something!!!!!! 46 dead 57857 injured
Here's how Briar adopted a little kitty that was just kinda crying and laying in the rain :( Inspired by one dark and stormy night when I was curled up in bed with my own kitty cat. It's 1.7k words, so buckle up folks.
CW, VERY emotionally unavailable dad
*
It was only thunder. Heroes weren't scared of thunder.
But Briar was.
Fighting a sob, the seven-year-old dragged himself out of bed and snatched the superhero action figure he kept on his nightstand. The instant his feet touched the floor he was running to his window, flinging it open, and gulping down the rush of frigid air. Icy rain lashed at his cheeks, but he squeezed his toy and willed himself to stay crouched there until the cold slowed his heartbeat.
Heroes weren't scared. Not of thunder, not of rain, not of anything. Briar was scared of everything, but at least he'd kept himself from making the mistake of running to his Father for comfort. He was safe from the man's acidic cloud of annoyance for now. He slid his fingers over his action figure's plastic armor, letting the texture slowly unwind him.
A high, pitiful keen sliced the darkness outside and sent his heart rate shooting back into the stratosphere. He tensed, leaned forward, tilted his head to listen harder...
And his action figure tumbled to the floor at another clash of thunder. He shut the window as quietly as he could before sprinting to his bed and shoving himself under his blanket.
His breath huffed against the sheets.
Briar sighed and pressed his forehead to the mattress. He was being such a little kid about this. Something out there might've really needed his help, but here he was, doing nothing. Suddenly the blankets felt stuffy, so he poked his head out and frowned when he noticed the lump of the superhero figure he'd abandoned.
Heroes were strong and brave. They always saved the weak, no matter how scary the bad guys were.
A stern older voice rose in his thoughts to berate him. The "sound" had probably been a figment of his overactive imagination. It lied to him all the time, after all, telling him he could feel other people's emotions, read their thoughts, and loads of other nonsensical things. He'd probably been making it up, like Father always said he did.
Another wail drifted up through the rain.
He sat bolt upright and gripped the edge of his blanket. There'd been no imagining that! Something out there did need saving, and Briar was the only man for the job! He leapt out of bed with childish enthusiasm and grabbed the stash of hero gear he'd hidden behind his dresser: the miniature flashlight he used to secretly read comics at night, a stick that kind of looked like a gun, and a frayed old bedsheet. He tied the sheet around his neck and tucked the stick gun into his waistband, feeling extremely brave as he crept out of his room with his flashlight in hand. Thunder rolled outside, but he stayed steady as he tiptoed down the stairs toward the living room.
All that courage drained the moment he passed the dining area.
Father wasn't in his bedroom like he'd thought. Briar found him slumped over the table, his white lab coat stretched across his back like a sunbleached battlefield. A mug of dark liquid stood guard on the tabletop next to his head. Scattered tablets blinked around him, each flashing a different screen more urgently than the last. He'd curled one long-fingered hand by the closest one.
It looked like he was asleep. Briar had barely considered his Father actually did that sometimes. If he woke up...
The boy felt his cape brush against his calves. Well, heroes always saved the weak, no matter how scary the bad guys were. He swallowed, sneaked to the door, and slipped out into the night.
The rain made the blackness as thick as stew. His curly hair stuck to his neck within seconds. He turned on the flashlight and swept its hazy beam over the pavement, fumbling, his fingers already turning numb. It was so much colder out here than it'd seemed at his windowsill.
Thunder cracked directly above his head; Briar buckled into a crouch, shuddering in the wet shell of the bedsheet draped over his back. That voice rose up in his thoughts again, telling him this had been stupid, babyish, immature, ridiculous. He should've stayed in bed, he had school tomorrow -
A cry pierced through the voice. This time, it was quieter than before.
The boy somehow found the strength to stand up against the ice-chip rain. He followed where the cry had come from and turned the corner, sliding the flashlight beam along the base of the house. It stuttered on a pile of matted brownish fur. The rain must've mushed a bunch of dirt and hair together to make it.
And to his horror, the pile stirred, looked at him, then let out a very weak mewl. It was a kitten! Unthinkingly he scooped it up in one arm, letting it shiver into his chest.
Briar put away his flashlight and drew his stick gun, feeling a gust of wind blow his cape backward with a satisfying snap. He protectively hunched his shoulders and set off around the corner again, back into the darkness with his charge and his weapon, water dripping around his cheeks and off the end of his nose. Not a drop fell on the baby in his hand. He didn't so much as spare a thought as to whether he'd done the right thing. He knew that unquestionably.
Until he reached the front door and found a shadow standing in his way.
He couldn't see Father's face in the blackness, but he still imagined his pursed lips, the gash of an anger line between his angled brows, his stark gray glare that almost seemed to glow white. But what pinned Briar to the spot was the rust-harsh spikes of the man's disapproval. He couldn't ignore them shredding his confidence to tatters, even if Father always said they were just in his imagination.
Briar was nothing more than a little boy with a frayed sheet and a piece of wood. Not a hero. Father didn't even have to say anything for Briar to feel that.
"It is 3:37 in the morning," the man said, his growl as rigid as his posture.
The kitten cried out again, and those spikes of disapproval dug so deep that Briar couldn't help but whimper.
"Put that back where you found it," said Father.
"B-but she'll die."
"That isn't up to you. Come inside and let nature take its course."
"Nature's gonna kill her - "
"Come, Briar."
Tears made their perilous climb up Briar's throat. Protests hunkered on his tongue and wouldn't leave, but he knew if he didn't say anything, the unmoving life in his hands wouldn't last much longer.
Heroes always saved the weak. Always.
His cheeks stung and his eyes shone as he looked up into the dark of his Father's face. "I heard she needed me and wanted to help her," he forced through a closing throat. "Just once, I wanted to save someone. Like you do at work."
Thunder cracked the world in two, the kind Briar felt before he heard. He barely noticed it. He'd seen his Father's eyes actually widen under the twitch of his brow, painted white by lightning. The spikes of his disapproval went brittle, snapped, shattered.
He pinched the space between his eyebrows and said, "Stay by the door when you come inside."
Wearily, he turned and walked back into the house.
Briar shut the door behind him when he followed him inside. This didn't feel like a victory, more like some kind of shift. He just wasn't sure what that meant. He pushed it from his mind and dutifully sank to the ground with his back against the door, his heart leaping when the kitten stirred in his hand. She was going to be okay. He'd make sure of it.
Father had gone off down the hall, and when he returned, he dropped a bath towel on the ground beside him. "I won't have it dirtying up the house," he said.
Briar didn't look at the towel at first. He was fixated on the hem of his Father's lab coat, which brushed against his calves the same way the bedsheet had against Briar's. For some reason that was what pushed a single tear over the edge and down his cheek.
"Thank you," he said, daring to glance up.
He held his breath as Father's weariness hardened again. The man met his eyes for a fraction of a second before looking away and donning his usual cold mask of a face.
"If I ever see another tear fall again," he said, "that cat is going out on the street. Is that clear?"
"Yes. I'm sorry."
Without another word, Father snatched a tablet off the table, grabbed his mug, and stalked up the stairs to his bedroom.
Briar let out a breath. He wiped the tear away - as much good as it did him with his otherwise drenched face - and placed the kitten as gently as possible into the bundle of towel fabric. It yawned, waved its little paws around, and snuggled into its new bed.
A shock of orange fur poked through all the dirt and grime. It was enough to spark the boy's smile, which kept Briar company as he watched over the kitten for the rest of the morning.
TWS FOR BLOOD, FIGHTING, PUNCHING, YELLING, PROFANITY, IMPLIED PHYSICAL ABUSE, ETC
Summary:
When Kevin goes to check on Tom one night out of worry (with Radford accompanying him), he ends up seeing something that serves as an explanation for what he's been worried about. And it fills him with more rage than he's ever felt in his life.
————
"..ugh.."
"You alright, dude?"
"...yeah. I'm fine. Mh.."
Kevin looked off to the side, his gaze flickering over to the streets that they walked past as his brain was filled with the endless exhaustions that plagued him at his work shift today. From those damn kids, to the customers.. he hardly had a day of peace. He had gone out with Radford to maybe ease the stress a little, but that still hadn't done anything. And.. well, there was something that came to mind that was the very reason he was walking with him right now.
He hadn't told Radford of the exact details. Of why they'd even be heading to where they were. All he said was that he had wanted to go check on someone since he was a bit worried. And.. that someone's house wasn't exactly far away.
In fact, it was about around the corner if he remembered correctly—from having been on this sidewalk so many times. Visions of the many times he came here flashed in his head. Visions of that person's smile, how they often hung out, and.. well—the markings that had been growing more frequent as of late. They were defintely clumsy, and he didn't doubt that they'd hurt themselves often, but sometimes he sort of—wondered if it was just coming from simple accidents or just running into things.
The breeze enveloped him as the fence that would lead into the street of the house was coming up. And as it was, Kevin blankly looked ahead.
"Hey, uh.." He heard Radford speak from beside him, speaking in a soft manner, "I'm sure she's okay! She just might be getting a little more clumsy. You know how she is."
"..yeah." Kevin sighed, "I just—I wanna make sure. I mean, it's.. not like she'd hide anything from me. But—"
He turned around the corner with Radford, who followed like a duckling following its own mother. Kevin couldn't help but let a sigh escape his mouth again, and he lifted his head. Squinting.
"I just—"
He blinked, feeling his voice die in his throat. Upon seeing two shapes in the distance, he was about to continue speaking, but couldn't seem to bring himself to. Hearing the sound of a masculine voice.. screaming different things he couldn't exactly understand. The taller shape ahead had a hand on the other ones—hair? Yanking with such fierceness as it had a hand gripping the smaller ones shoulder.
Kevin stiffened. The taller shape was a man with brown hair, his hair tied into a low poofy ponytail, and his brows furrowed with such sharpness that Kevin recognized him almost instantly. Only he wasn't wearing his jacket this time. He was practically growling, filling Kevin with the same bitterness he always felt when around him.
The man yelled down at the smaller shape. A girl with curly black hair, and crooked glasses. Redness splattered on her cheek as he grunted out in pain. Something in Kevin's chest began to twist. His eyes wide, realizing that the girl seemed.. familiar.
He raised his brows, something finally clicking in his brain.
Radford watched with the same gaze, his mouth agape as the scene unfolded before him. The unfamiliar man with his grip on the girls hair, his arm gripping her shoulder, and the girls.. the very familiar girls cheek visibly bloodied. The girl he knew.
The man let out another scream—and the girl gasped. "I—am not gonna let you keep ruining things for me! You hear me?!"
He aimed his hand back. Something about this sent a sudden jolt through Radford. A flicker of action through Kevin.
Neither of them knew what had kicked in. It was like a flood of bitterness. Of rage on one's behalf.
Radford was the first to run, his feet practically storming across the sidewalk—with Kevin following behind like a traveling message of sound. Wind rushed past them both as their footsteps filled the ambience surrounding them.
The man had a hand held up still, lowering it toward the girls face.
"You fucking hear me?!"
"Hey!"
The man's aim faltered, his gaze flickering over to Radford. Who hadn't ceased his pace. Who ran with surprising agility.
Seconds away from the man, Radford practically leapt onto the sidewalk—with Kevin following behind and rushing over to the girls side.
Radford raised a hand—letting himself stand before the girl. Even if the man hadn't been moving his hand anymore, Radfords hand grasped his wrist, and forced it into restraint. The man snarled. Yet Radford gave no sign of intimidation.
He didn't know who this was. But he defintely knew by the splatter of blood on the girls cheek that he had to do something here.
In the face of the man's snarl, Radford glared back.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
Kevin had jumped onto the sidewalk. Next to the freckled, sniffling girl who appeared startled at his approach. Who looked up with such tearful eyes.
With a frown, Kevin wrapped an arm around her shoulder, holding her up.
He didn't speak a word, flashing her a soft look of distress. Looking at her with such worry as a trickle of redness ran down her cheek.
As Tom looked up at him with such fear, Kevin felt something stir within, and looked ahead at the man whom he already knew the name of.
The man yanked his wrist from Radfords grasp, who stood still with a raise of his head.
"I'm giving her what she deserves—that's what I'm doing!"
He tried to step foward.
"Now stay out of this!"
Radford stepped in his way, spreading his arms out.
"Wh—why the hell should I stay out of this?! She's bleeding!"
"Why do you care? You don't even know what she did!"
"Yeah, but I'm not gonna let you just hit her!"
"Tch—get out of my way!"
Julian raised an arm—aiming it upward and forcefully nudging Radford to the side. It only sent Radford tumbling back a little—staring on with furrowed brows and a slightly startled expression. His own hand quickly clasped over his shoulder from the impact.
Practically marching, Julian walked with such fury. Such hatred and spite in his glare. Seeming so intimidating. It was almost like he was an animal or something.
Kevin felt a trickle of sweat slip down his skin, but.. a quick glance back down at Tom's face.. at how afraid she was and at the mark on her.
The implications of who these markings could have been from all this time.
..any fear he may have had for Julian previously seemed to fade. Replaced with a severe irritation. No.. anger. A more genuine, severe anger than he had ever felt in his life.
"You listen here, Tom—agh—!"
..Kevin didn't know why. It was out of his control. The way his arm aimed back with such quickness, the way his fist clenched, the way he threw—running on nothing but anger for his fuel—all he knew was that his knuckles slammed against Julian's face. And that Julian was sent tumbling back.
wouldn’t it be nice (pt. 2) | 18+
joe cooper x reader
fem!reader, she/her pronouns are used
★☆✵☆★
warnings: cursing, smut
coop ruins everything
★☆✵☆★
weirdly enough, the blonde had been keeping calendar.
exactly 4 months and 8 days.
that’s how long cooper had been battling the urge to confess his feelings to remer’s girlfriend.
to be even more precise, he’s been wanting to for as long as the lovely couple had been together.
sometimes he’d practice his confession in the shower. while lazily shampooing his hair, he’d talk to the tiled wall, and somehow still manage to become embarrassed. he’d muster up a few broken phrases before falling silent.
“what a fucking wimp.” he told himself. he couldn’t even tell her in an imaginary scenario, how could he grow the balls to tell it to her face?
he’d shake his head, disappointed in himself.
then the soapy suds from his hair would fall and slide into his eye, he’d scream and almost slip on the slick bathtub floor.
not only did he lack the courage, but she’s dating sir fucking swish. doug remer, joe coopers best friend since they were little kids. they did everything together. used to read comic books together, ride bikes together… now, they drink together. a lot.
coop and remer found themselves seated at what could only be described as a seedy bar, like so many other nights they had spent together. and just like every other night, remer felt compelled to talk about y/n.
“hey man, we should get out of here soon. y'know, since y/n's coming over tonight." he opened his wallet to reveal a condom.
cooper let out an internal groan, feeling both embarrassed and annoyed at the same time.
"yeah, yeah i’ll follow you," he sighed exasperatedly as remer pushed off the stool and slowly made his way towards the door of the bar.
as cooper stood there, watching remer walk away, a flash of light on the dirty bar floor caught his eye.
it appeared to be a small, square-shaped, laminated paper laying next to his feet.
figuring it slipped from remer’s wallet when he opened it, he Immediately stooped down and swept it up, ready to call out for his friend, but before he could even get one word out, cooper turned the piece of paper around with curiosity.
his heart beat quickened and his cock twitched at the image.
a hazy, half-assed taken polaroid photo of y/n, stripped bare and invitingly curled up on remers bed.
though it was a little blurry, he could still admire all the details. her fists gripping onto remer’s baby blue sheets that he always refused to change, her eyes gently shut, her mouth hanging slightly open, and worst of all, remers hand placed on her thigh, his hips snapping into hers.
the picture was obviously taken mid-fuck.
cooper face flushed hot. it was like an instant dream come true; he had admired her from afar for so long yet never had the courage to act upon it. now here she was, willingly on display right before his eyes.
instead of doing the right thing, and being a respectable human being; he stuffed the photo in his back pocket, following remer to the old car.
coop’s dick strained against his jeans the entire car ride.
back at the house, y/n cursed at her curly haired boyfriend for losing such a thing.
“jesus fucking christ, doug! one thing i ask you to do, one thing!” she smacked him on the arm, furious with his careless actions.
“i told you not to put it in a place that you’d forget about!” her arms were crossed as she angrily paced around his unkempt room.
“hey, okay, first of all, i didn’t forget where i put it, it must’ve slipped out is all!” he threw his hands up in defense as if being accused of a crime.
“holy shit.” her breath was no longer steady, in fact, it sounded like she was on the brink of tears.
any girl would be if they had just learned their boyfriend lost a naked picture of them, most likely in a public space.
“y/n, baby, relax! it’s somewhere, okay? i’ll find it.” he held his pinkie up, awaiting y/n to hook hers with his, “just trust me?”
a promise, again. exactly like how he promised her he wouldn’t lose the photo in the first place.
“..okay.” y/n gave in, lifting her hand towards his and pinkie swearing to another false vow.
remer smiled at her with a toothy grin.
“see? that’s more like it.” he stood up from the bed and patted her on the back, “i’ll find it. swear.”
in the room next to theirs, coop was slumped, perched on his bed with his head in his hands. he was staring down at the tattered polaroid grasped tightly in his palms, considering what he should do with it. he could chuck it away, but what would be the point of disposing a perfectly good photo? a sexy one of his crush at that?
he quickly placed it on the side table next to him. avoiding its gaze, he shook his head, disgusted with his own actions.
without a doubt it was wrong. so fucking wrong.
he knew it, too.
despite his unease at the moment, that did not stop his hand from reaching for the lewd polaroid and feverishly pulling down his pants.
he felt an overwhelming sense of guilt as he considered how wrong it seemed for him to give in to such temptation, but yet here he was, desperately trying to satisfy his untameable urges.
he collapsed back onto his bed, the springs inside the mattress making an irritating squeak as he threw his boxers off, kicking them to the side.
he was already pretty hard, the view of polaroid only causing his cock to throb even more.
he laid his head against a pillow and began to work on himself, nothing but y/n on his mind.
he pictured her on his bed, her legs spread for him, her body inviting him to join her.
the movement of his hand sped up.
he’d make her feel so, so good. god, if he only had the chance, he’d spend hours between her legs. till her eyes rolled back. till she forgot remer’s name. eat her out like she was his last meal and he was a terribly starved inmate on death row.
he thought about what she might say,
“fuck me, coop. need you so bad. need your cock inside me.”
“you’re tongue feels fucking great right there, keep going.”
“sh-shit coop—“
he pictured her stuttering through her moans, unable to contain the pleasure he would give her.
his finger glided over his tip, playing with the pre-cum forming at his slit.
he looked at the picture once more, hand shaking and unable to keep steady as the other one stroked himself.
his hips bucked into his fist, pulling a noisy whine from his throat.
he was practically mesmerized by the image.
he really couldn’t help it. her name just rolled off his lips so easily,
“shit, y/n.” he groaned.
loudly.
it really wasn’t his fault. he had no idea that remer and y/n were still in the house at the time. in his mind, he thought they went out. he was far too busy imagining hot, wild sex with her to hear them arguing next door.
he moaned her name over and over again.
that’s when y/n opened his door.
of course, coop had forgotten to lock it.
why wouldn’t he?
Hard & Soft
Graticus unlocked her front door and stepped inside as the door swept to the side. It was another fine day of being ‘security’ for the station with minimal issues. It wasn’t as busy as a station in taurian space, but in the shared or contested territories, depending on who you asked, there was enough to keep one busy.
Hell, when the ursidain in the marketplace had overstepped and started to wreck a stall in a tantrum, she even got to suplex the overgrown fat blob for a change. It was a far cry from her old career, but she enjoyed the little things. Like smacking around someone that deserved it. A good day all in all, she could ride this high all week.
"Pumpkin? I'm home!" She called out to her partner, a human, Don, someone she had known for several years now and who would be home by this time. A quiet sniff and a clearing of a throat before she heard a reply. She placed her toolbelt next to Don’s phone on the table near the door.
"Hey beautiful, I'm in the lounge." Came his light tone from within, although something was… off.
She pulled the scrunchie from her brown curly locks and slipped it down one of her horns to keep it safe in a smooth, practised move as she tromped deeper into their home. She frowned as she realised that she was hearing a wobble in her partner's voice.
Stepping into the front room she found her mate sat on the sofa with a game console controller in his lap.
"What have you been up to since you've got back?" She enquired with a soft smile, sharp teeth flashing. Graticus knew that humans were slippery. If you asked a direct question they'd clam up and no amount of prying would get the problem out. They may be one of the smaller of the known sentients, but they were far more resilient than many others. They’d shoulder any burdens they experienced on their own until they were eventually crushed.
She had to be careful about sniffing out why she could sense something was troubling him. She’d known him too long, had been through too much together for him to be able to hide his feelings from her. Even when he tried.
"Oh just messing around on the game." He said offhandedly. She glanced at the screen, then to the controller resting in his lap.
"Is that why you've been still long enough for the controller to go to sleep?" She asked in a firm, yet mildly accusatory tone, a fist rose and rested against her hip as she quirked an eyebrow down at him. She had only ever wanted what was best for him. And he, her, but he always seemed to put himself second. Those damned resilience and self imposed standards.
Unacceptable to Graticus.
It was her job to protect her partner, it was more than just tradition for taurians, it was a comment on her abilities.
"Oh, no.. I've been messing around on my phone." He lied. She get a quiet snort to herself, she hated people lying to her. Even her Don.
"Mm, the one that's still on the sideboard near the front door?" She confronted.
He went silent. Dammit. She sighed and nodded, deciding how to help.
She walked back around to the rear of the sofa to a trunk that crouched there and retrieved a heavy, fluffy blanket. He was craning his neck round to watch her and realised her plan. He immediately tried to placate her as she walked back around to the front carrying the massive bundle. Graticus, both in her career as a security guard and as an ‘independent’ before, had no problem in taking her own actions to solve problems, Don wasn’t going to be able to talk his way out now.
"I'm fine, honestly, there's no need to-"
Putting an arm thicker than his torso around his waist and bodily lifting him into the air, she placed him over her shoulder, on top of the blanket. With her other arm she arranged the cushions that decorated the sofa to create a little nest for them both. His squirming did nothing to escape her grip.
She laid down in the centre of the pillows lengthwise across the sofa, arranging her little Human so he fell against her front. Finally she flicked the heavy blanket, more of a weighted blanket to her mate's perspective, but it floated down to cover them both.
Curling her massive arms around him, she dragged him into her chest and squeezed him. She finally let out a rumbling, deep sigh of contentment. Although her favourite part of the day was laying down with Don, this was for him, to send a message that his resistance would not outlast his passive adorable-ness that drove her to protect and cherish him. She would lay here, holding him against herself, stroking his hair, until he opened up to what was bothering him.
His taurian would chase him down relentlessly until he relented. Time didn't matter. She wasn't paying attention to how long it took for him to begin speaking, but when he did there was that wobble again.
"A customer had a go at me at work again today. I know I shouldn't pay attention to it, they're annoyed at the business not me, but I'm really trying and I just... it gets to me sometimes..."
Her past bubbled immediately back up to the surface, her claws extended and a short, sharp snort burst from her nostrils.
"I will break them in two. Who was it?" She demanded, being deadly serious.
"I don't know, just a customer. It doesn't matter." Shaking his head as he lay across her.
A minute or two passed as the pair settled and the stress of the day bled away.
"...do you remember what they looked like?" The human immediately sighed dramatically.
"Graticus, I'm not going to help you hunt down one rude customer. As much as that would be quite nice..." he explained with a chuckle as he buried himself deeper into the blanket.
There's that little bloodthirsty streak; he can pretend he's a helpless babe all he wants, she knew he always had a quiet danger floating just under the surface. It was always fun watching humans with a grudge. That resilience would come back in the form of a long, patient memory.
Graticus reminisced about their meeting. As she did, she went back to running a hand up and down his back using the short sickle-shaped claws to graze his skin as she placed her chin on top of his head.
A silence followed as he believed she had dropped the subject.
"What time did they leave the shop?"
"What? Why?"
"There are cameras along that promenade." She stated firmly.
Mouthwashing fanfiction i started but never finished so eat up!
She wanted to say that Jimmy was no man.
Biologically he was a human, with a heart and lungs and brain that Anya could try to treat, but his behavior was more attuned to that of a folktale monster. From stories told by people long gone by, meant to warn about the dangers of the world through the fear of an unknown creature. Of story's that, now in the modern day and age, you would brush off as fiction to not entertain the thought that maybe there were hints of truths hidden in those stories.
But the truth is that there are no monsters on board the Pony Express, only other humans.
Jimmy was conscious and meticulous with all of his actions, like it was a chore for him. He knew what he was going into her dorm for, he knew how he was going to do it and now he was going to kill her.
Well she doesn't exactly know entirely, but having spent enough time in “proximity” with Jimmy was enough to know that he would fight tooth and nail to end her life if he ever found out about the… fetus growing inside of her.
She needed to tell someone. She didn't have much time, the gap of opportunity was closing and she needed strength to pass through it but she was just so tired of everything. How much she would love to finish the job before Jimmy decided to come back for the finishing move.
“-Anya? Are you feeling ok? You've been staring at your corporate issued slop for a bit too long” Curly tries to joke. She slowly looks around the table to see everyone looking at her with varying degrees of concern. Looking down at her spoon she looks at the sad looking soup she was in the middle of eating, maybe it was edible at some point, but that's no longer the truth. She instinctively blows on the spoonful and sips at it.
It's gone cold.
“I can heat it up, if you need it warmer?” Oh, she had said that outloud.
“No thank you, I'm ok,” She didn’t want to burden him with anything. The thick air around the table dissipates, allowing the group to get back to joking and chatting. Her lying had worked.
Almost, for a split second, she locked eyes with someone she never wants to see ever again. She suppresses a shiver, at the feeling of cold eyes looking her up, being able to undress her with his eyes. Her clothes were meant to protect her, yet she was still stripped of everything she brought on this god-forsaken ship.
Anya the last one at the table, she never finished the soup.
Walking through the door leading to the medical ward she was stopped by Swansea's outstretched arm.
“What do you need Swansea,” He sighed, smoothing out his remaining hair.
“Are you sure you're ok Anya? You look like you've got a lot going on in your head, if you need help of any kind you can come to me,” Anya looked down to the left, fiddling with her cuticles.
“If I needed any help I would ask Captain-“ She was interrupted by a snort from the man in front of her, her face slacked in shock. She felt a little twinge of something inside of her. What was so funny?
He at least had the decency to look guilty about his inappropriate action, averting his gaze and clearing his throat “Look, Anya. I've been working with Captain Curly longer than you and I know more than anyone on here that he is working his ass off trying to make sure everything is running right and being taken care of. But that sure doesn't leave a lot of room for the emotional part of everything. He is a good man and a good leader, that doesn't make him a good therapist though,” He seems to be trying to gesture something with his hand but she stops him.
“ I-I think I ge- I understand what your trying to say... but uhm, really I don't know if...I don't know if I'm strong enough to say what I need to say”
“You don't have to explain anything, just tell me what needs to happen for you to feel better,”
“I think… jimmy, he whats… wants to hurt me, can you, maybe hide the, uh, emergency weapons so that he can't get it?”
Something flashed in his eyes before it was masked again, he crossed his arms with a frown “My body may be getting rusty but there's one thing that ain't, my gut. I felt something was off about that creep."
He scratches his chin"Good to know that it wasn’t just me thinking he was weird. The way he looks at Captain Curly makes me want to hurl-y,” She smiles at that.
“There’s that sickly sweet smile, of course i'll put those somewhere where he can’t see ,” he paused frowning “But just some advice,” He motioned for her to come closer to him.
“ I don’t think you should tell Captain about Jimmy,” Anya's heart jumps into her throat, she chokes on it, coughing. Swansea slaps at her back gentler than she thought he would have.
“ Why?”
He looks up and sighs. “ I'm an old fart who's been working on this rusty box of bolts for decades. I was here when curly first became the Captain of this ship. Back then he was a disgustingly fine young gentleman who really showed how much sweat and tears he put into getting on this damn ship.” That just sounded like the regular Capitan Curly she knew, what was the difference between then and now?
“Well then came Jimmy,” oh.
“Yeah, he was the biggest little shit I've come across in any colony. Manipulative and smug beyond all hell, but he was even worse when next to Curly. Those two bring out the worst of each other, more than any other person I've ever seen. Curly’s more naive and gullible while Jimmy is insecure brat who thinks anyone better than him has had life handed to them that way . I've never told anyone else this but I truly think that the day Jimmy was assigned co-pilot was the day that Curly stopped being this ship's true capitan,” Anyas furrowed her brows, frown etched deep into her face. Swansea noticed and chuckled bitterly.
“I know that sounds strange, but Jimmy is the Captain's best friend and he takes advantage of that all the time. Notice how Jimmy rarely ever gets into trouble?” Her eyes widened.
“Yeah, Curly’s biased towards Jimmy, that bastard has our captain eating out of the palm of his hand.”
“ Poor Curly, I couldn’t imagine being groomed that way,” Swansea raises an eyebrow at that.
“I don’t think he was necessarily groomed, even though I called him naive I wouldn’t call him blameless. He's a grown ass man and he's shown that he's not gullible or immature enough to be able to fall for a person's bullshit so quickly,” She almost wanted to frown but tried to hide it.
“He’s responsible for everyone on this ship, so whatever happens under his control he's partially responsible for,” She shudders at the thought, swallowing the lump in her throat. Anya doesn’t want to think that such a nice man would just allow this to happen without repercussions. She didn’t know what was worse, seeing exactly who she knew Jimmy was or finding out she never truly knew Curly at all.
Was it so stupid to believe that she wanted to be close to the people whom she was going to spend a ship with for a year?
A pat on the shoulder made her flinch, Swansea raised an eyebrow at the action. She stared at him, begging him not to dig any further. He surrendered and walked away.
“ Just try to get some rest, tonight,” He waved back at her from where he was walking away.
She nodded - oh wait he wouldn't see that. Anya called out to him "Alright, I'll try to do that,”
That night she cuddles into her new bedsheets, cuddling closer to her old rabbit stuffed animal that she brought with her savoring the smell of her home that still lingered on it.
She didn’t dream of anything.
It felt like she had blinked at night then woke up in the morning to buzzing fluorescent lights of the cabin. Even though she wasn’t in the medbay she still felt like she was under the harsh medical lights.
She gets up and goes to breakfast,and stays quiet even as the conversation shifts to the routines and what Daisuke and Swansea are learning about for the day.
On her way to medway she almost tells curly about her problem but instead tell him about Jimmy's hidden nature and about the rose tinted glasses.
As she walks into the sterile smelling medical room she sighs, sits down and stares at a wall of screens showing a sunrise.
They say a Captain is his ship.
How many pretty screens need to be ripped away before she can find the truth written inside?
Cruel Summer
Pairing: Sherlock x f!reader (Max, replace with anyth u like)
Word count: 1.9k
Warnings: Angst, moving on, lingering feelings
Summary: You fell for him too early, he fell for you too late
A/N: Inspired by the scene in fleabag "it'll pass" and also partly the line in Cruel summer ("I love you, " ain't that the worst thing you ever heard?) .My old fics are all written in third person and the reader is alw Max so js change it to your liking.
“I love you.” Max watched him, her eyes watering. Sherlock looked at her in bewilderment, for the first time, he doubted his own senses, his mind went blank. Max swallowed, looking away as tears welled up in her eyes, “I love you.” She repeated in a whisper.
“No you don’t” Sherlock muttered. His hands running through his hair, “it will pass. It’s just a crush.” He insisted, looking everywhere but her. Max closed her eyes, “Sherlock. You know it isn’t like that- you know I meant it.” “Shut up!” Sherlock shouted, silencing her. Max’s jaw tightened, her nails digging into her palms.
“I-I’m sorry” Sherlock apologised. She swallowed, “Sherlock. Let's just pretend this never happened.” Max ended. Turning her back towards him, “Max-“ he held onto her arm. Max removed her arm from his grip, a flash of hurt crossed his features. “It will pass.” She whispered under her breath as her heart shattered to a thousand pieces.
———-
Sherlock’s breath hitched, there she was in London, in a theatre. John had dragged him to watch an orchestra, he was reluctant at first but the inner music connoisseur in him gave in, now he knew the true reason why.
It was what she deserved. He told himself, repeated in his mind as he watched her. A solo part with one of her oldest friend, Chris. They built up on each other, harmonised perfectly, and conveyed the feelings of the excitement and mystery of a romantic relationship. Their chemistry is almost undeniable. The way he looked at her, it was evident Chris liked Max romantically.
The room broke into applause for the performers. Sherlock woke from his train of thoughts, clearing his throat as he subtly tried to wipe a tear that formed. John broke into applause, a proud grin for his friend.
“John!” Max laughed upon seeing her friend. She quickly ran towards them and embraced John. “You were fantastic.” John complimented. She blushed slightly and muttered a thanks before her eyes fell on the curly haired detective beside John. “Hey Sherlock.” She smiled and greeted, but Sherlock didn’t fail to notice how she stepped back to put some distance between them, how she lowered her head slightly, as though losing confidence. He swallowed the hurt at her actions. “It was a rollercoaster.” He simply said. Max paused, a glint in her eye as she smirked. “Is that a compliment or?” “A compliment. A very high one.” He clarified. Max laughed. A comfortable silence fell between the three of them. John nudged Sherlock with his arm to which Sherlock clicked his tongue in annoyance and flared at John. “I- John-we-“ Sherlock stumbled upon realising what John wanted him to do. Max smiled warmly, “Sherlock you need to speak up. We are not the only ones here. Plus a few weeks of non stop practice means my ears are not at their most optimal state right now.” Max joked. John groaned at how the almighty detective inability to ask Max out. “He means-“
“Max! hurry up. The shops are going to close at this rate.” Chris strode to Max’s side, nagging at her. “We’re all waiting for you.” Max gave a sheepish smile as she tried to take her bag from him. Chris swiftly avoided her, “You’ll get it back when I get my fill.” He teased to which Max rolled her eyes. Chris looked to the two old friends, a charming smile as he apologised for interrupting. “I have to go. We’ll catch up sometime while I’m still here yeah?” Max excused herself, hitting Chris' shoulder playfully as she reached for her bag's pocket and took out a name card. “A call and I’ll drop by Baker Street.” Max promised. A smile on her face as she waved to the two men and left with Chris, laughing as she tried to snatch her bag from him.
John handed the name card to Sherlock instead. “One call,” John repeated to him, a disappointed look on his face. Sherlock’s eyes remained on her figure as she disappeared around the corner with her group of friends. “She’s better off without me.” Sherlock said. John frowned, “you wouldn’t know until you try.” “You don’t understand John, she was merely being respectful to me because of you. I hurt her too much and she deserves better.” John sighed. “Don’t pull this cliche shit on me, Sherlock. You’ve been absolutely miserable without her, so pick up the guts and call her.”
--------------------------------------
Sherlock drummed his fingers against his armrest. His eyes darting to the namecard that acted as a bookmark in the book he barely paid attention to.
“Hello?” Max picked up the phone. Sherlock swallowed, the words that he had prepared long lost at her voice. “Sherlock, I know you’re there. If that’s you…” Max broke him out of his trance. “You said a call and you’ll drop by.” Sherlock quoted, his heart pacing.
Max glanced at the man before her. He was scrolling on his phone, casually feeding himself french fries. A laugh escaped her, catching Chris' attention. He sent her a judgemental look, but a smile tugged on his features. “Yea sure. Now?” Max asked to which Sherlock hummed.
Sherlock paced his room, stopping every few intervals as he played the violin in front of the same window that looked out to the street in front of 221B. His eyes long abandoned the score as he played from memory, while his eyes drifted to the streets every so often as he anticipated her arrival. Sherlock straightened, dusting himself off as he adjusted his button-up when he caught sight of her figure. There was frustration within him when he realised who she was with. He reminded himself that he had no right to feel like that, not when he rejected her and pushed her away. Sherlock watched bitterly as she smiled and laughed at his words, watching as he too struggled to keep a straight face when she told him a joke when he was taken aback by her stupid stories. Eventually, Max stopped in front of 221B, she stuffed her hands in her pockets, smiling softly as Chris bid her goodbye.
Max bounced on her feet, watching Chris try to cross the street to the bus stop. His backpack bounced behind him as he ran through the traffic, the cars driving with no regard for him. She was worried but would rather die than admit that. Chris reached the other side safely, noticing her stare. Max raised a thumbs up to which he gave her a confused look. “Was wondering if you would get run over.” Max texted, chuckling at his predicted reaction as she turned her back and entered the all-too-familiar place.
Sherlock stubbed his toe when scrambling for his armchair upon hearing Max’s footsteps. He winced but cleared his throat and sat down anyways just in time when the door swung open to reveal Max and Mrs Hudson. “I just got some tea darling, I’ll make some for you- it's been so long!” Mrs Hudson hurried to the kitchen downstairs, shooting a disgusted look at Sherlock’s kitchen which looked more like a lab. “Where’s John?” Max asked, masking the feelings that came to the surface upon seeing him. “How would I know?” He simply said, looking out the window to act nonchalant although his eyes drifted towards her. “Hm, you guys were inseparable.” Max commented. “Well everyone moves on.” Sherlock glanced at her to which Max simply sat down on the sofa that she used to occupy, seemingly not having understood Sherlock’s innuendo. Her phone buzzed, a smile covering her features as she read the message and Sherlock hated how he knew who was texting her. She put away her phone to be polite but the messages came in a never-ending chain. Max muttered a ‘shut up’ to her phone before silencing it and clearing her throat, facing Sherlock fully.
“I’m- the..” Sherlock stopped, unable to find the right words. Max waited patiently for him, she always did, he just never appreciated it until she finally decided to leave. “The way I handled it back then, it was wrong.” A haze fell over Max’s eyes as the painful events replayed in the back of her head. She tore her eyes away from him, the smile leaving her features immediately and replaced with a forlorn look. “Forcing it wouldn’t have worked either.” Sherlock closed his eyes, his jaw tightening at the guilt, “It took me too long to realise-” Max cut Sherlock off before he could finish his sentence. “We would never have worked out.” She said coldly. Sherlock tilted his head, curious to know why, it was like a moth to a flame, it was dangerous to be that close, he was bound to get hurt, but he just had to know. “No matter how much we care for each other, our relationship would never be healthy. We both have issues that the both of us cannot solve.” Sherlock stood up from his seat, Max patted on the seat beside her encouragingly when she sensed his hesitance. Sherlock sighed, “Not a single chance?” Max swallowed, she knows the feelings that she buried deep inside were still there, she could love him, she felt the urge to agree, to take the risk and love him but years of working with him taught her, logical reasoning was the way to go. “There is, but it's not a chance I’m willing to take.” Max said. Sherlock winced, he wondered if her straight-up rejecting him would have hurt less. “The pain, hurt, I went through. The constant reminders, and the lack of self preservation as I wanted to see you more despite knowing your stand on this. It’s not something I want to risk going through again.” Max reasoned.
“Ouch”
“I'm not saying this to hurt you, but to tell you how hard it was.”
Sherlock nodded, “I know”
“Are you happier with him then?” Sherlock asked after a silence, they were more comfortable now, her head laying comfortably on his shoulder, their fingers brushing against each other. Max went quiet for a while, not knowing who Sherlock meant before it clicked. “Chris and I-” “I know, but it's obvious there’s something there. Even I could tell.” Max lifted her head a little to look at him, “You always could tell Sherlock.” “Not when it comes to emotions, sentiment, I'm bad at those.” Sherlock retorted. Max smiled softly as she thought about it, “Maybe, I don’t know. I’ll go with the flow.” Sherlock smiled at the answer, an answer that encapsulated her personality. “But you’re happy with him?”
“Yes. He makes me laugh, and smile even through the smallest of words.” Sherlock closed his eyes, letting out a breath. He wanted to be that man for her, yet it seemed like he only brought her the opposite. Max noticed his change in demeanor, but before she could say anything, Mrs Hudson's voice called out. “Come down for dinner you two! I made your favorites!” Max smiled, “Coming!” She replied. She stood up, lending a hand out to Sherlock as he took her hand. His eyes never left her, trying to commit her to memory, refresh the memory that was hidden somewhere, gathering dust for two years. She smiled bitterly at him, “It’ll pass Sherlock” Max repeated the words he had said to her back to him. Words he never realised how hurtful it was until he heard them for himself. He looked out to the sun that was setting, almost like the sunset he had rejected her 2 summers ago. It was indeed a cruel summer yet again.
title: a girl would be the savior of the multiverse …
description:
“...but you, kai drew, shall be mine.”
on family, on impossibilities, on change, on miracles, on purpose, on love, and on loss.
OR
wiggog y’wrath finds love and purpose in a human child. something that surprised him. that was new, too.
OR
a character study on sotbaw wiggly and his love for his baby.
happy birthday, raspy! :]
story below:
he was supposed to kill her.
this stupid baby with the mop of curly brown hair and the big dark eyes that bore into his soul.
he wanted to kill her.
he was the one who suggested it.
when they saw that in 2018, a girl with bright teal hair would go to hatchetfield, attach to an average guy with a distaste for musicals and a crabby barista, and then thwart their plans constantly until she got a timeline with her happily ever after, wiggly suggested that they kill her. after some chatter, they agreed that was the best course of action.
he wanted to do it.
and there he stood.
above her crib.
her cradled in his arms.
well, how couldn’t he? she was sobbing, and her stupid ass wouldn’t shut up even when he switched to his human form (ewgh, bones).
“just- just shut up, would you?!” he hissed.
she sobbed.
“god, why do humans even have these things?” he grumbled.
he thought back to the humans he had observed over the millennia. childcare had changed over the eons, but he remembered one thing that seemed to always work.
he started bouncing her in his arms, gently shushing her.
she began to quiet, gazing up at him in what he felt was awe.
“don’t look at me like that.” he muttered…uncomfortably?
she continued to stare. he continued to rock her, despite her being quiet.
she smiled. her tiny chubby hand grabbed a fistful of his shirt and she rested her head against his chest.
he felt his heart swell. each life she lived seemed to flash before his eyes, each high and low, the milestones, the loss, every single possibility seemed to flow through his mind. he wanted to laugh, to cry, but the feeling of wanting to keep her in his arms forever seemed to trump it all.
“oh.” he muttered once the feeling faded just enough for him to think. “that’s why.”
AWWWWHHHHHHH OH MY GOD I LOVE HIMMMMM :((((
