What do you think of Kol/Davina?
Y'all already know you aren't going to like this one.
But Kolvina is probably my least favorite of the Mikaelson canon ships. And yes some of that is due to the fact that Kol is my least favorite Mikaelson. But a lot of it is just based on how young Davina is and how young the show continues to remind us she is. Also, how little effort was put into this ship.
In season 1, Davina is 16 years old, only a year younger than Elena was in season 1 of TVD. Davina, I believe is the same age as Jeremy. However, with everything being aged up in TO (the characters, the love interests, the maturity/violence), Davina comes across as even younger. And this is done purposefully. Davina in season 1 is put into these white, babydoll dresses for most of the season, despite it being unnecessary as she's living in an attic. Her hair is typically very simple and her makeup minimal to give her a youthful look. The show is trying to remind us how young she truly is.
This is not only done with her clothes, makeup, hair, etc. But also with how the characters talk about her. I made an edit one time of how differently Rebekah treated Elena and her friends versus Davina. She treats Davina like a child, like a daughter, when Davina is only a year or two younger than the teenagers Rebekah and her siblings had just spent a couple of years harassing/killing. You also have Vincent, Cami, and Marcel treating her like a child (cause she is one) and worrying about the responsibility that has been put on her. Even her relationship with Josh keeps reminding us of how young and even naïve she is when she isn't aware of things he talks about because she's been so sheltered and is a literal teenager.
The show is reminding us how young and innocent she is so she appears much younger than the characters in the show we just watched (TVD). This is because we need to be angry at the ancestors and the witches for what they've done to her. But mostly because we need to separate it from Klaus sacrificing a 17 year old just a couple of seasons before. Elena was made to seem older so that we could set aside the fact that these 100+ year old men were not only sleeping with her, but continually putting her life in danger. But the opposite is true for Davina.
So then when, in season 2, Kol is brought back as a witch sent to charm Davina, she is still a child to the audience. Yes, she's gained more agency, but you can't just erase all of the footwork the show did to make her appear so much younger than everyone else. And yes, I know the argument that Kol was turned at 17 so they are basically the same age. But I've already discussed how that argument doesn't hold weight with me here.
I'll move on from the age thing though. Another one of my issues with the ship is the bait-and-switch Kol essentially does to Davina. Davina was the biggest Mikaelson-anti. Some of it I think was exaggerated to create conflict in season 1, but no matter what the reason was, she wanted them dead. Kol enters, lying to her about who he is and she is swept away by his charm. Kol spends the better part of a month manipulating a teenager who feels abandoned by everyone. Only to learn the truth and feel betrayed by him. He winds up winning her over because he wants her help to take down Klaus. Only to then betray her once again as soon as Klaus gives him any attention. Where is the Davina we know and love from season 1 who had Marcel, Elijah, and Klaus literally on their knees for lying and betraying her??
I've talked about Kol's development falling flat to me before, so I won't go into too much depth here. But Kol was the stereotypical younger brother. He pretends he is too good for his family, but as soon as Klaus gives Kol any type of attention, even negative, Kol is buddy-buddy with him again. The scene where Davina is watching Kol hug Klaus after Klaus nearly attacked her will always stand out to me. The look of betrayal in her face.
We never really see Kol work to gain Davina's trust or love. He just has it. It doesn't help that a lot of their relationship happens off screen, but what we do see just makes me sad for Davina. Also just the fact that Kol is Marcel's least favorite of the Mikaelsons since, you know, he actively tried to kill Marcel as a child, would make it even harder for Davina. She is constantly being pulled in different directions and at no point do we see Kol trying to make it easier on her. He doesn't work to rebuild his relationship with Marcel or the witches or even Josh. He just pops in and out (yes, I know it was partly due to them both dying constantly) of her life and her feelings are just expected to be there.
This idea that Davina sees Kol as "the best of the Mikaelsons" also just highlights how little she actually knows about him. At least with Cami and Klaus, Klaus has told Cami nearly every awful thing he's done. She is going in with eyes wide open. Even Elijah and Hayley, Hayley knows who he is and even goes into his mind and sees it first hand. Whether they would have ever gotten back together after that is up for debate (they would have, there's no debate), but again, she is making an informed decision. Davina sees Kol in isolated instances where their goals align. And when they don't Davina is just expected to put hers aside and go along with Kol, which the audience is okay with since it's supporting the fan fav family.
The version of Kol we get in season 4 and 5, the small glimpses we see, are don't have anything in common with the Kol we knew throughout TVDU. Like I said in my post about Kol's development, he essentially becomes whatever character the show wants him to be. There is zero reason given for his development other than him falling for Davina. I'm sorry, but men do not just change who they fundamentally are because they fall in love and that is a dangerous message to put out there.
To me Kol and Davina were a plot device to make Davina more hesitant to go after the Mikaelsons and to also cause conflict within the family. They have some cute moments, but I never truly believed their love for each other was anything more than infatuation.
Thanks for the ask! Sorry if it wasn't what you wanted

Jeon Jungkook doesn't really attend parties- typically.
But this time, for this occasion, he can't really pull himself out- he's got to at least show up for a moment, be there and present, before he can call it a night and go home. It's not like he hates his coworkers or employees most of all- he's just not that good at socializing, and never really was.
He's learned to be alone, and now he's too good at it.
A lot of the people in the hall, he doesn't know. That's probably because he's allowed people to bring a plus-one, so most of the people here are couples, which makes the whole situation just so much worse. "You could at least try and appear like you're having fun, you know?" Taehyung laughs, standing closer to his coworker now, a drink in hand. "It's not that bad." He tries to lighten the mood, but Jungkook just rolls his eyes.
"It's not even been an hour and I already want to go." He sighs.
"Why not leave then?" Tae wonders, sipping his non-alcoholic drink, since he's gonna have to drive home later, his wife currently conversing with other coworkers. "Oh, right, because Namjoon-"
"God don't remind me." Jungkook mumbles, shaking his head as he sips his whiskey. "I can't believe I lost that bet." He growls to himself, watching how someone seems to struggle with choosing the right food at the buffet, plate still empty even after several minutes. You look young, or maybe you're just short- he's not sure, but what he is sure about is that you do not work for him or his company- at least not in the same building. He would've noticed you, just like he does right now.
"I think she's Yoongi's plus-one? Or at least he drove here with her together.." Taehyung mumbles, having spotted his friend watching you.
"She looks young." Jungkook mumbles. "And I thought Yoongi was seeing the secretary we hired a few months ago?" He wonders, finally letting his eyes leave you alone, form-fitting dress very complimenting to your body, not too revealing, but still somewhat teasing.
Taunting him, almost.
"Oh, he does! Namjoon caught them making out in Yoongi's office last week." Taehyung laughs. "She's probably just a friend." He shrugs.
A friend, huh?
"Maybe something for you though?" Taehyung jokes. "I mean, I think I saw her drinking earlier, so she's at least of legal age." He laughs, making Jungkook cringe at him. He doesn't really find this whole joke funny- not at all, but Taehyung is right when it comes to Jungkook having a.. severe lack of company these past few years. Only occasionally does he have some sex without any strings attached- never brings anybody home however, refuses to cling to someone.
He's divorced anyways. Most women don't really find that very appealing.
Maybe he can have some simple company this time as well, nothing serious at all- it's been a while, after all, and everyone's an adult here, no matter the age difference. As long as he communicates it properly, there's no reason not to at least converse with you.
So he does indeed approach you, finding you still at the buffet, barely anything on your plate at all.
"Too much to choose from?" He wonders next to you, and he realizes the huge mistake he's made when approaching you the second you lift your head to look at him.
The lights reflect in your eyes like mirrors, minimal makeup perfectly enhancing your features, lips shiny with the most sinful shade of lipgloss this world probably has to offer. He's a goner, right away, lost in the sight of you, as if he's been thrown into the deep end of a pool so cold that it freezes his muscles, making him sink down to the bottom like a stone.
"Oh, no.." You answer, looking back at all the foods. "I have a shellfish allergy, so I'm not sure what I can eat.." You mumble, one hand having reached up to play with the sparkling pink gemstone hanging around your neck.
His mouth feels dry for a second, before he catches himself.
"Here." He mentions, pointing at some small numbers near the names of the foods on the small cards. "Those small numbers, the three right there is for shellfish." He offers, pointing towards a different card close by where the numbers are explained.
"Oh! Thank you so much, I hate contact lenses!" You laugh to yourself. "I usually wear glasses, but I wanted to look pretty.." You giggle, putting some food onto your plate now.
"I'm sure nothing can ruin a face like that." He flirts without truly thinking about it- making you visibly blush, trying to contain a smile.
"I appreciate the compliment…?" You wonder, and Jungkook knows, he's probably about to make another, grave mistake.
"Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook." He introduces himself, and you tell him your name in return, smiling oh-so devastatingly beautiful.

His plan was absolutely not to explore what might be beneath that pretty dress of yours- and it seems like that might stay that way despite his length inside you.
You're moving your hips in ways that makes him dizzy, mind clouded with lust as you bounce up and down, hands on your back the only thing helping you avoid accidentally hitting the steering wheel. He's pushed the seat back as far as it goes, but you can never be too sure- he wouldn't want you to honk and draw attention to the surely shaking vehicle in the darkened parking lot.
The condom had been pure luck- he's not a fan of pulling out, so if it hadn't been there in the glove box of his car, he probably would've had to awkwardly call it quits before anything really happened at all. It's not like you both instantly were at each other's throats the moment you left the gathering- he simply offered to drive you home instead of Yoongi, who'd wanted to stay a little longer, while you complained about feeling tired. And in his car, you'd talked- casually so, something clicking, as he's now got you on his lap, bouncing on his dick like he's not experienced in quite some time now.
He feels a bit bad. Despite making sure that you know this is nothing but a casual fuck, it still feels a little odd to him. He doesn't like things like these- it feels like he's using you, and he's not a fan of such situations.
Though he can't deny that you feel absolutely divine.
The rain is heavy outside, pushing against the car's windows from all sides, drowning out the otherwise rather obscene sounds coming from between your bodies. Your hands are on his shoulders, fingers gripping his muscles beneath the fabric of his formal button-up. He refuses to kiss you, can't find it in him to do it, and you accept it, instead treating it as detached as you can, simply chasing your high as you fuck yourself on his twitching length.
He feels good. Thick, able to reach far inside you, but not enough to hurt.
The way he holds you is nice too- not too strong of a grip, only enough to guide you, keep you moving, keep you going. He's not big on dirty talk, isn't over the top with anything, and it almost feels like he's treating you like a woman, and not some chick he's met at a party. There's a certain sense of respect he's offering you that gives you confidence, makes you feel powerful for once even though he's clearly setting the pace.
This is something you don't usually get to have. Someone taking you seriously.
"You close?" He asks out of breath, avoiding your eyes, rather looking at your lips, though never moving into action. A limit he's set, and a limit he follows, he's clearly a man that doesn't wildly change his mind on the fly. Though, considering who he is, and where he is in life, he probably has had enough time to be untamed and wild already. You faintly wonder if he's ever been in a long-term relationship. Yoongi hasn't really talked about him much.
Neither have you asked. You've seen him, once or twice- but a man like that is out of range for you.
You nod when he grips your behind, reminding you quietly of his question, hips stuttering as he takes over, helping you move to chase his own orgasm right after yours. You're a bit overly sensitive, but you push through it just to see him clench his jaw, eyes closing as he groans out in relief, cum spurting into the condom inside you.
It's suddenly over, and not even your evening breaths can mask the slight awkwardness that's filling the car.
One of his hands keeps you close, though you have to lean against him a bit as to not move your hips too much as he reaches for something from the glovebox, plastic wrap of the small pack of tissues making a distinctive sound. "You okay?" He asks you, and you nod, now having switched places apparently as you avoid his face entirely.
You rather move a bit weirdly to accept the tissue offered, lifting your hips to awkwardly wipe yourself down, before pulling up your underwear and climbing back into the passenger seat, where you clean the inside of your thighs while he discards the condom from his length with a slight hiss of sensitivity.
You never really know what to say. You don't actually do this often- this is only the second time you've ever hooked up with anyone like this, and it's just as weird as the first time.
"Thank you, by the way." He offers, taking the challenge away from you as he puts the tied up condom in the tissue to discard it at home later. "Let me drive a bit closer to the building, just so you don't get too wet." He says, pulling his seat back into proper position before he starts the car.
Such a gentleman- You're a little disappointed. But only mildly so. Will you even stay in his mind?
Probably not.
You're way too young for a man like him, who most likely wants a proper woman in his life instead of a.. instead of you. You're not even sure where you are at in life- neither a woman nor a girl, somewhere in between, floating, unsure, neither and both. You know however for a fact that you'll remember him- probably for quite a while, before the memory will fade into nothing but a glimpse.
"There we go." Jungkook says, stopping the car very much in front of your apartment building, sideways so that you can run right into the main hall. "Please remember to text Yoongi, okay?" He reminds you. "He might be worried otherwise." He smiles kindly, and you nod, a bit forced, grabbing your light coat and your handbag. "And.. I enjoyed it. Very much so." He makes sure to tell you, making you nod a bit shy.
"I.. uhm, I'm glad." You nod, awkwardly, causing him to chuckle.
"Now go hurry inside before the rain starts again." He urges, making you nod dumbly once more before you open the car door, running inside the apartment building after closing the door.
And he drives off, back home, where nothing waits for him but the humming fridge and a cold, empty bed.

Daehyun can be a little spoiled, but other than that, he's a well behaved kid for his age.
He loves staying at your place, though his questions on when you'll be getting another dog after your first passed away a year ago are sometimes a bit stinging to your heart. He's a child, obviously- he doesn't understand the hurt that can settle in your soul after losing such an important piece of your life, so you can't blame him for moving on a lot quicker than you.
He's too young to understand that yet.
"Uncle Yoongi has a cat now!" Daehyun tells you as he builds the lego set with you, his small hands having some difficulty here and there, but he's a quick learner, and a good improviser. "But he said I can't play with her, because she's a girl-cat, and girl-cats don't like playing." He explains, pouting a bit as he uses all his strength to pull two pieces apart again.
"Well, I think she's just be a little nervous still." You reassure the boy. "You know, she just moved into a new home. Things might be a little scary to her." You explain, and Daehyun nods.
"I only pet her a bit." Daehyun tells you. "Appa said we're gonna get a dog soon though!" He says with excitement, making you smile.
"That's nice." You agree, helping him pull some bricks apart. You like having the little boy over at your place- it makes you feel both like a grown person, and also like a child at the same time. Daehyun doesn't judge your vast collections of stuffed animals and lego sets- he only sees you as the nice aunt, a big sister, a friend of his dad where he stays over at often whenever work gets in the way and takes away most of Taehyung's attention. Just like this weekend- Taehyung having needed someone to look after the boy, Dae's mother constantly equally without any time. You're not sure how long that marriage is gonna last with her refusing to step back at least a little to properly take care of her own child, and with Taehyung's growing frustration over the situation.
You hope the poor boy won't get caught up in the crossfire. That would just be awful.
Hours later, all the toys put away, your doorbell rings, giving you the clue that someone must be now here to pick the young boy up. Probably either Jimin or Yoongi- but when you open the door, it's neither of them, but a casually dressed Jungkook, hands in his slacks as your gaze gets caught on the slightly unbuttered shirt that's tucked into the pants, LY-labeled belt buckle accentuating his rather slim waist.
What the fuck.
"Oh- uh, come inside." You offer, stepping aside to let him in, Daehyun quickly running up to Jungkook, who mirrors the excitement of the young boy as he squats down to hug him. You let them both have their moment, instead walking around to collect all of Dae's things, checking twice to make sure he didn't forget anything, as you text Taehyung to make sure the man is really supposed to take the boy with him.
He is, which makes you a bit upset. Taehyung could've told you before.
When you walk back inside the living room area, Dae is currently busy showing Jungkook a stuffed animal- a gift from Jimin a year ago, modeled after your dog as a keepsake. "He was suuuper big, and really nice!" Dae beams up at the man. "He always ate ice cubes, but-" the small boy inspects the stuffed animal a little, lips pouting. "-Noona said he was really old, so he went to sleep." He offers, and Jungkook seems to realize what the stuffed toy might actually be.
"Let's put him back on the table then, yeah?" He offers, a hand with faint ink taking the toy from the smaller hands of the boy to place it back next to the picture frame of your dog and the collar on the tiny table near the door where he used to sleep. "So he can sleep well." He explains, making Dae nod. When you make your presence finally known, Jungkook removes the hand, heavy watch on his wrist faintly hitting the edge of the table for a second, as he watches how you help the small boy into his jacket.
You're a little confusing.
"Alright." You say after successfully getting Daehyun to put on his shoes. "Theres- uhm, there's a, wait, I'll show you.." You say, moving to pull a little folder out of one of the bags packed. "This one, please make sure Taehyung sees this. It's Daehyun's homework, and he really needs to do them this time." You emphasize. "Just make sure he actually looks inside at least once.." You sigh, putting the bright red folder back into the bag.
"I'll make sure." Jungkook accepts, taking the bag from you. "Anything else?" he wonders, and you refuse any eye contact, instead shaking your head to hug Daehyun goodbye as you bring him and Jungkook to your front door.
"Noona, you gotta hug Jungkookie too!" Dae says, surprising you with his lack of formality when addressing his father's friend- but you don't question it.
And admittedly, Jungkook is fairly surprised when you do in fact reach out to hug him goodbye, though very formal. It's still.. oddly nice, you don't seem to wear perfume but rather rely on your scented bodywash, which smells very good to him. This is weird. Why is he getting such feelings of comfort for a simple hug with nothing attached to it?
And why is he kind of disappointed when it ends far too quickly?
But it gets worse in the car, because Daehyun has clearly gotten the wrong message entirely. "Noona doesn't have a boyfriend." He says from the backseat where Jungkook has placed the booster seat he's gotten from Taehyung in cases like these where he has to pick up the young boy. "And appa said you don't have a girlfriend." He says, making Jungkook nod and hum a reply. "Noona is really pretty." He giggles. Jungkook cant help but chuckle along.
"She is." He agrees, because he won't lie about that. You are very pretty in his opinion, though he can only really judge you mostly by looks alone. "Did you have fun? I heard you were there the whole weekend." He tries to steer the conversation away, but the young boy clearly doesn't get the message.
"Noona can cook really well!" He praises. "She always makes me my favorite, and then we watch tv in our 'jamas." He says, and Jungkook has to imagine you both probably bundled up in blankets on the small couch you have, watching kid's shows until the poor boy falls asleep.
Domestic. Do you like children? Want your own in the future, maybe?
"Jungkookie?" Dae asks, and Jungkook hums a reply, telling the kid he's listening. "Do you like Noona?" He wonders.
"I don't know her that much, dae. But she seems nice." He offers instead, trying to evade the interrogation of the small boy.
"Do you like drinking?" Dae wonders. "Like, the stuff appa says I can't have?" He asks, and Jungkook grows a bit weary. Why exactly would the young boy ask something like that?
"Sometimes. Why do you ask?" He asks the boy, who seems to deflate now.
"Then you can't be friends with Noona." He complains.
"Why not?" Jungkook wonders.
"Because, the guy noona liked for a while always got mean when he was drinking that stuff." Dae complains, looking out the window. "I was never allowed to play at noona's house when he was there. He really liked that stuff that smells bad, but it made noona upset." He says.
Jungkook tenses up a bit. "Was he ever-, how was he mean to you?" Jungkook wonders.
"He always told noona to do things for him, and never let her play with me." He huffs. "And Yogi didn't like him too, because he always had to stay in his bed." He complains. Jungkook assumes the boy is probably talking about the dog.
Jungkook doesn't know how to ask what he wants to ask. It doesn't concern him at all- after all, it seems like you're no longer together with that guy, so he shouldn't pry. But something makes him worry- deep down, he's awfully wary, since he now realizes you did indeed not even touch any alcohol at the party at all- the drink Taehyung had seen you hold non-alcoholic. How bad must the relationship have been? You might not have a fear of men, but you're clearly affected by the past, it seems like.
"Did.." no. He shouldn't be asking that. It's none of his business.
"Do you get mean too when you drink?" Dae wants to know. "Appa only gets really sleepy." He giggles. Jungkook laughs along. Taehyung truly does only get horribly tired whenever he drinks- and he knows for a fact that he never gets drunk when he has to take care of the boy alone, so he's not at all alarmed by those words.
"No, I don't get mean." Jungkook answers. "I don't really drink a lot of it, so it only makes me feel a bit silly." He offers as an explanation, and Dae nods.
"Then, maybe Noona won't mind." He says, causing Jungkook to chuckle, shaking his head.
"Why do you want Noona to like me so much?" He wonders, and at that, Taehyung's son becomes excited.
"Because, then my favorite people like each other!" He exclaims. "And that's really cool. Then we can have sleepovers together, and you can help me get a new dog for noona!" He says. "She's really sad that Yogi sleeps now. I think she's lonely." He whines.
"We can have sleepovers anyways, dae." He laughs.
"But, appa told eomma, that you need someone you like." He huffs. Jungkook reminds himself to scold his friend at a later date. "Because you're not happy now, and you're lonely. And noona's lonely too." He offers.
Luckily, Jungkook escapes any further questioning as he finally reaches Taehyung's apartment, ready to drop the young boy off.
The whole conversation not leaving him at all the entire rest of the day, as he realizes he forgot to show Taehyung the folder.
Crap. This is your fault.
⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅
It's been weeks- and apart from rubbing one out to the remaining memories of you in his car, he's not really thought much about you at all.
He's seen you on occasion here and there at the grocery store or a coffee shop, which made him realize that you've always been right under his nose but he just never knew who you were, but you two don't really have had any actual conversations anymore.
There's no reason for it.
He now knows that you're actually the part-time nanny Taehyung used to have a few years back, when you apparently had just been fighting to find a new job to keep your apartment and not get kicked out for not being able to pay rent. Back then, Taehyung and his wife had been living separated for a bit after a pretty bad fight- so the father had needed someone to take some weight off his shoulders, and help with the small child who couldn't even talk yet. You helped raise Daehyun basically, more or less- and, according to Taehyung, it shows.
The young boy has a strong sense of justice, and shares everything he has happily- something that he's learned from you. It makes some odd things make sense now to Jungkook as well- how Dae has some habits that seem very unique, but also too specific to have been developing all on their own. The child holds the front of his shirt a lot- something Jungkook noticed you do in a similar way as well, whenever you think of something.
Today, it's Daehyun's birthday. And Jungkook is sure, that the young boy probably demanded that both jungkook and you had to be there.
And he's right.
The minute he enters Taehyung's penthouse, he spots you sitting on the floor with the child, who's currently trying to read his own birthday card to you, before he spots him in the doorway. You look pretty, yet again. No makeup it seems like, and he can't say that you need it. You obviously don't, eyes still sparkling dangerously, smile still as lethal as ever as you wave a little bit before getting up.
You're dressed comfortably. He likes the sight of it- the casual dress you wear not too short to be scandalous, but short enough to tease him with the skin of your legs, hidden beneath a sheer pantyhose. Or?
No. There's an upper hem of lace- those are just stockings.
"Jungkookie, appa said you'll drive noona home today?" Dae says, now held up on Jungkook's hip, as he looks at Taehyung who laughs.
"Dae, I said I'm gonna ask him if he can drive her home!" He scolds gently. "Hey- sorry, he just runs with whatever he hears." The father tells him, and Jungkook just smiles, shaking his head.
"I can drive her home, no worries." He simply affirms. "It's no problem."
"Taehyung I told you I can go home by myself!" You whine, and Jungkook is intrigued by this seemingly new side of you. He knows you as a little shy, soft spoken, polite. You always greet him when you see him, and you've talked a little bit in his car weeks back- but then again, you only know each other on a very surface level.
He wonders what you're really like.
"And I said you're not driving alone when you're sick." Taehyung threatens, dad-voice coming through as he attempts to push through your clearly stubborn behavior, and Jungkook can't help but watch intently as your eyes roll around, attitude clear as you don't take your friend seriously at all.
"Noona is gonna be a mommy!" Daehyun blurts out to Jungkook, and for a split second, his entire body freezes, blood cooling down to the negatives, bones filling with fear.
He wore a condom- but what if something happened? What if it leaked? Was that even possible? He's not against becoming a father, absolutely not- but he'd like to have a proper relationship for that, a stable one, not something like this.
"Daehyun!" You scold with red cheeks, and Taehyung runs a hand over his face. "Appa just asked me if I was, I'm not!" You whine embarrassed, sighing. "Oh god, guys, please! I'm an adult woman, I'm not sick, I can go home by myself." You complain, walking into the kitchen, presumably to escape the pressuring situation.
"She threw up earlier, that's why I asked her. Dae must've heard me." Taehyung says, after averting his son's attention back to the TV in the living room, where his favorite show plays. "She refuses to see a doctor for it. But you look like you've seen a ghost-" Taehyung teases, before his eyes sharpen. "…could it be that the mention of her becoming a mommy made you worry?" He pokes, and Jungkook furrows his brows, averts eye contact. "Holy shit, you two!?" He hisses, and Jungkook groans.
"Shut up, it was nothing." He simply says, while Taehyung's eyes widen in a scandalized manner.
"Nothing?! Jungkook, where is that nothing?" He argues, surprisingly sternly. "I'll drive her home."
"You're acting like I forced myself onto her-" Jungkook sighs, but Taehyung shakes his head. "Taehyung, you heard her. She's an adult woman, she can decide things herself." Jungkook defends you. "I'll drive her home, and I'll text you once she's dropped off." He says, before he walks into the kitchen where you're filling up a glass with water.
"Oh god that was embarrassing." You whine into your hands, before you shake your head. "He acts as if I'm dying any second whenever something's up." You mumble, drinking from your glass. He can see you're a bit less energetic- hand a bit shaky as you drink.
"He worries." Jungkook offers, leaning against the counter next to the fridge, across from you. "And you should go see a doctor if you don't feel well." He scolds, and yet again, you roll your eyes.
"And you should try and work on your facial expressions, mister." You huff. "I could see the panic a mile away when Dae said I'm pregnant." You bite, making him tilt his head a little "Either way, I'm fine. I can't afford to call in sick right now or my landlord will kick me out the minute my rent is late again." You laugh a little bitterly, finishing your water before you rinse the glass in the sink.
"Do you not get paid a regular salary each month?" He wonders. You shake your head.
"I do, but it's the monthly bonus that keeps me afloat." You explain. "And I only get that one if I'm not sick and bring appropriate numbers to the table." You sigh. "My landlord just searches for a reason to kick me out, I'm sure." You mumble as you dry your hands.
"How come?" Jungkook asks.
"I didn't want to go out with the guy." You shrug, not looking at him. "I like older men, but sixty? No thanks.." You huff, turning around to look at a smug looking Jungkook, his arms crossed.
"Would've never guessed." He tells you in a cocky manner, and you cross your arms to mirror his position in an exagerated manner.
"I would've probably let you screw me if you were younger too." You respond.
"Oh?" He raises his brows. This is oddly fun. "Were you that needy?" He teases, and suddenly, your eyes soften quite a bit, scaring him.
"No." You shake your head. "Guess you were just that charming." You shrug.

"If your job pays that awful, why not change it?" Jungkook wonders as he maneuvers out the parking lot, leaving Taehyung's home behind after Daehyun had gone to bed.
You shrug.
"I'm lucky I got accepted in this one." You say. You're tired- it's obvious to him. "I dropped out of school too early. Now I'm facing the consequences- and honestly, it's not that bad either. I get by, and it's a quiet life I'm living, which is nice." You offer.
"Do you not have any ambitions?" He asks, relaxed now that he knows you're not one to be overly sensitive when it comes to more personal topics like that. You don't try to read between the lines where there's most of the time nothing at all to find.
"Its not like I don't have any ambitions." You respond, neither denying nor confirming. "It's more that I realized some of those ambitions were.. unrealistic. So I instead pursued what was." You shrug. "Nothing too deep. It's.. part of growing up, I guess." You explain.
Growing up. Talking to you, right now, truly does remind him of that. Almost two hands between you both in years, but you're awfully matured in the way you think at its core. You just have a softer shell around it, your opinions can still move, your mind still has some sort of wiggle room.
His doesn't. He makes decisions and sticks by them, most of the time. He doesn't like change, he enjoys his routine, keeps everything in order most of the time- until now.
Because you're definitely a decision he keeps bending around.
"How much is your rent?" Jungkook asks, and you look at him from where you're leaning against the car's window, an amused expression on your face.
"Why? You wanna be my sugar-daddy?" You joke, and he shrugs, much to your surprise.
"I don't care what you call it." He simply says. "But if it get's you to take some time and take care of your health, I can take care of a month's rent." He offers.
"I don't like that." You respond.
"I know." He laughs. "I've come to learn that you don't like accepting help. But it's something you can't avoid at times." He explains to you. "I'm just offering help. Whether or not you take it, is up to you." He shrugs.
"Why would you do that?" You wonder, suspicious.
"Because Taehyung worries about you. And Daehyun would be terribly upset if something was to happen to you." He admits. "I don't know you well enough to say that I'm doing this for you- so I'll be honest. I do this mostly for them." He says.
You nod. You like this- that he's actually telling the truth, instead of trying to woo you into something.
"Alright." You sigh, tired. "I'll.. text you?" You wonder, and he nods.
"I have your number from Taehyung already." He chuckles. "I just didn't have a reason to reach out yet." He admits.
You just nod, eyes falling shut for longer he notices.
You must be working hard if you're this exhausted. He really hopes you'll take care of yourself after he helps you sort everything out.
Hopefully his help is enough.
⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅
He's lost control over the situation. How can this happen a second time?
He's been texting you these past few days, especially after you've finally took some time off of work to sort out your doctor's visits, having received some medication to finally help you resolve your issues.
He's not sure why he keeps coming back to you. And he's especially not sure how the hell he managed to get himself caught up in a situation like this twice, especially after Taehyung had been clearly upset about the first time.
There's something about you he can't really pin-point. It's both scary, and exciting.
You're kneeling on a small heart-shaped pillow from your small couch, hands occupied and slicked up with your own spit as you caress his length, head of it warm inside your mouth as you lick and suck. You've offered, and he assumed it to be a joke- but the moment you got down between his legs, all of his usual control over things went out the window. He might appear to be the one in charge, right in this moment, but he's truly at your mercy.
It makes him anxious. This shouldn't be happening.
But he can't deny the appeal of you taking care of him so well- it feels scarily intimate to have you between his legs like this, eyes closed as you seem to enjoy yourself, mostly due to his own hand reaching out to run his fingers through your hair, brushing it out of your face and taking the chance to offer some form of affection before he collects your hair in his fist for a second, long sigh escaping him as he feels the tip of your tongue push against the head of his cock, dipping into the small point, before you adjust your legs, letting go of him for just a second to lick from the base to the very tip once more.
You're a succubus, hidden behind a pretty face and sinful body.
He's not sure what your motivation is, hasn't really figured it out for the first time either. There's this little devil on his shoulder constantly urging him to accept your advances and let himself go, but the angel is louder, and keeps on feeding him doubts about the whole thing. He's consumed by his work, he doesn't have time for you, he can't offer you what you might want from a relationship. He doesn't even know if he himself is ready for something like that- he knows he should be, considering how long ago his divorce had been finished, but it's still odd to think about it. He's scarred by what went down, and doesn't want to go through this again.
He can handle being hated by one person he used to love. He wouldn't be able to have two doing the same.
It made him wonder if he's even someone worthy of having a relationship. Does he have enough to offer you that's not physical or monetary? No. He doesn't have time, he's awkward as hell, he doesn't like parties and rather enjoys laid back vacations somewhere no one knows him- if he even takes one at all. He wants a quiet life-
A quiet life?
'it's a quiet life I'm living, which is nice.'
Maybe it's your hands on his cock, the back of your tongue over his tip, or the way your fingers suddenly move to massage his balls just right- but he's facing this horribly ironic moment of both pleasure and realization at the same time as his cum shoots into your mouth, lips sealed over the head to suck him for all he's got. His hand keeps pushing your head, fingers digging into your hair, and you moan quietly at the faint sting of it.
His head rests back on your couch. His hand loosens, letting you go, while his eyes stay closed, breath deep and uneven as he tries to calm himself. He doesn't even realize how you tuck him back into his underwear as he softens, though you leave the fly and belt untouched, instead moving to wipe your mouth with the back of your hand.
You wait. For what? You're not sure.
"I.." He starts, taking in a deep breath, a hand through his hair trying to sort him out again. "..you.."
"Was it good?" You wonder almost innocently, watching him amused.
He nods. "Very." He simply answers, brain dumb. He hates this.
"Nice." You smile, before you move to put the little pillow back on the couch. "Do you wanna.. leave right now? Or stay for coffee?" You wonder, treating this all way more casual than he is. He's not sure what to do. But he knows you need to talk about this.
"Can you come here for a second?" He asks, and you nod, putting down the mug you got out of the pantry, making your way over to him to sit on the couch next to him. "I hope you know this isn't.. needed. I honestly just wanted to help you out with rent." He urges, and you nod.
"I know." You say, making him feel a bit lighter. "Was that.. not something you wanted?" You worry, but he shakes his head.
"I'm.. I'll have to be honest here." He sighs, having closed his pants and adjusted himself prior already, not leaning forwards with his elbows on his knees. He can't look at you- not if he wants to be honest and straight forward. "I'm not sure." He offers. "I think it's clear that there's an attraction going on- but I don't know how far this can go."
"I'm not in love with you or anything." You defend yourself. "Neither do I have a crush. I just like you." You shrug.
"That's good." He nods to himself. "It's good that you know that. That you... can distinguish it."
"I think your problem might have something to do with.. my age?" You wonder, and Jungkook turns his head towards you, eyes staying on your knees however. "Yoongi mentioned something once. That he has a friend who has some sort of mid-life crisis right now and thinks he's too old for everything." You giggle.
"And how do you know that would be me?" He calls you out a little offended.
"Because it just fits." You laugh. "You play around with Dae all the time, but the second someone watches you, you become all awkward. It's kinda sad." You admit.
"How so?" He wants to know.
"Because it's dumb." You say, leaning back against your couch.
"Maybe for you. But when you're my age-" He starts, and you suddenly start to laugh, cutting him off.
"See! That's how I know you're the one with the crisis!" You joke, hand hitting his shoulder playfully, and without any intention to hurt. "I'm not a kid. I can make my decisions just fine." You say.
"And your decision is?" He wonders, now looking at you.
"That I want to get to know you." You tell him. "I want to.. see where it goes." You offer.
"What if it goes nowhere?" He argues. "I can't promise you some fairytale love-story." He denies. "I'm divorced, I want children at some point, I don't like parties, I work long hours-"
"But that's stuff that we can work out, no?" You wonder. "Time is what you're scared of, right? Then how about this-" You say, suddenly sitting on your knees, body facing his. "Every day you're not trying is a day you could be spending in a more productive way. For example, by getting to know me. Trying out if your idea of a relationship aligns with mine, if your work schedule is too packed, all of that." You offer. "Right now, we could already be talking about more interesting things than the 'what-if'. Or, in your big-man-terms:" You joke, leaning closer to him. "You're wasting time."
"Have you ever considered a career in communication-training?" He chuckles, shaking his head. "You're awfully great at this." He praises, making you giggle.
"Nah, I like my normal nine-to-five." You say. "Even if it barely pays enough."
"Well I heard someone's taking care of rent at the moment." he offers, reaching out to tuck some hair behind your ear.
"Well, only for a month, so that's a bummer." You shrug, leaning into his hand now holding your cheek.
"..I'm not used to being in a relationship." He sighs.
"We can start just being friends." You respond.
"I think we're a little past the general boundaries of friendship." He chuckles.
"Then friends who occasionally have sex." You roll your eyes.
"That's not very romantic." He argues.
"You can fuck me with music in the background?" You joke, and he shakes his head, laughing.
You're truly far more than he thought you are, and he's not sure if he's worth your time. But he wants to be. Looking at you, right now, he wants to be worth it. He wants to put the effort into it, even if it doesn't work out in the end. He wants to try- so that even if you don't fit, you at least had some good memories together that were worth the time spent.
He wants to try.
Even if it's a mistake.

What's your ideal age range for the Volsung-Nibelung-Dietrich cycle characters? In the Scandinavian sources, Brynhild claims to have been adopted by Agnar and Aud at 12 to be their mascot valkyrie (which is what got her in hot water with Odin) and was put to sleep for any number of years, with sources differing on if her old retainer Heimir was her foster father or brother-in-law. Sigurd himself claims to be barely a man, that is, the legal adult age of 16, when Regin packs him off to slay Fafnir. Altogether it seems the two of them are rather young (16-19 physically?) and Gudrun is also in their age group. Later on Gothorm is too young to swear brotherhood with Sigurd and is thus used to kill him, making him younger than Sigurd and younger than 16 when they met.
In the Continental materials, Giselher is also called young, but there's no mention of Gernot and by extension Giselher being under 16 when they meet Siegfried. Gunther seems a fair bit older than them, being the first born and succeeding to the throne (as a sub-king, presumably, in versions where Gibich is still alive) shortly before Walther's escape from Etzel. However, he doesn't seem to have had a wife in either Continental or Scandinavian versions before his mother suggests Brynhild, which might indicate he's still fairly young. Historically he was active during 411-436, which gives him a 20+ year reign.
Hagen's age definitely has the greatest variation across sources. In the Nibelungenlied proper he's much older than the Nibelung siblings, but in the Walther stories he doesn't seem that much older than Walther, Hildegund, and Gunther, and the first two might be preteens at oldest. And of course in the Scandinavian materials, he's definitely younger than Gunther, being one of the Nibelung brothers. Classically, he's brother #2, slotting between Gunnar and Gothorm, with his father being Andvari/Alberich/Aldrian the elf. Wagner makes him presumably the youngest sibling. (Of course there's also the possibility that Grimhild/Ute just brought him along when she married Gibich, which would make him the oldest sibling. And also explain why Gibich would just pawn him off to Etzel.) Dankwart is also in the older adult range, but if Hagen was illegitimate, he could just have had a different mother, because who knows how long elves live, except it being very long. Hagen's unnamed sister (Gullrond?) would have to be much older to give Hagen two nephews, one of which is an adult during the Nibelungenlied.
Dietrich's age is also funky. He's presumably the same age as Wudga and Heime, his two closest companions until the exile. They don't seem to be too much older than Siegfried, Gunther, and Kriemhild. Dietrich gets tutored by Hildebrand when he's seven, acquires Hildigrim and Nagelring at fifteen, and has his Virginal/Wunderer adventure (the plots are so similar I suspect them to be the same story) at sixteen. He goes into exile sometime between the Rosengarten tournament and Kriemhild's marriage to Etzel. By then he's definitely a fair bit older than the young adults Alphart, Wolfhart, and Dietlieb, but Hildebrand is just ready to welcome the birth of Hadubrand. Historically, the Burgundian Nibelungs died in 436, the Visigothic Dietrich died in 451, Attila died in 454, and if Dietrich was also Theodoric the Great, he would've lived into 526. Then again, his family is known for ridiculously long lifespans, with the stories from his cycle claiming his father, grandfather, and uncle all lived into at least their 100s.
Hildebrand, Ilsan, Eckart, and Regin are all consistently portrayed as old guys. So is Sigmund in the Scandinavian material, where he actually featured prominently. Sigurd's two Volsung brothers are presumably dead during the main adventures, because Brynhild and Gudrun mention Hamund and Haki, his nephews via Hamund, usurping the Swedish throne and feuding with the pirate King Sigar. Helgi died in the prime of his life, while Hamund never appears on screen (but the movie adaptation of Hagbard and Signy mentions he was killed by Sigar a few years before, when his sons were children).
Etzel is definitely older than Walther, Hagen, and Dietrich, but strangely, there's no particular mention of him being old. Then again, there's no mention of Gibich and Ute being old in the Rosengarten story either. Nor is there any mention of how much Hjordis and Prince Alf might have aged in the Volsung Saga. In the Scandinavian stuff, Atli's sister Oddrun gets sneaky with Gunnar, but that version doesn't include Etzel's past with Walther, so who knows how old either of the Hun siblings are.
That's a great rundown of all the different traditions, and you make some great points.
As for me, I don't have really have age headcanons for anyone, going more for The Vibes and the "okay, what do I need for this concept to work?", but at the same time, age is one of those things where I tend to compartmentalize pretty heavily, for both practical reasons (I'm pretty sure I'd have a harder time than you keeping track of everything going on and gathering it all up into something coherent!) and thematic ones. (Simply put: different things work better for me, or have a stronger hold on me, in different contexts because I feel I can make more out of them on a narrative level.)
So, here's how things (generally) go in my head:
Norse sources: I tend to see Sigurd as rather young, because as you mentioned, he describes himself as such around the time he's sent off to kill Fafnir. I also tend to see his first adventures, from finding Grani to falling for Sigrdrifa/Brynhild and meeting Gjuki's children, as happening in rather quick succession, sort of a whirlwind of violence and drama and revenge and romance... so, yeah, still a teen (older teen at most) when he ends up meeting married to Gudrun. I imagine Gjuki's children to be all pretty close in age (except maybe Gothorm, a fair bit younger than the rest, and Gullrond, who reads sort of like a wise oldest sister to me, tho she doesn't feature a lot in my headcanons) and in the same age range as Sigurd, but I don't otherwise have a fixed birth order for in my head besides Gunnar being the oldest.
Brynhild is... complicated. You've got the enchanted sleep, and the question of how long it lasted and how fast or slow she aged, physically and mentally, in it. You've got all her wisdom and knowledge that, to me, makes her read a little older than Siegfried in her brief stint as his teacher, but then again, also the fact that she used to be a Valkyrie rather than just a mortal woman, so all that might be more supernatural knowledge and wisdom than anything else. And then, you have her foster father, Heimer (who's also her brother-in-law through her sister Bekkhild), and her brother Atli, and ofc Agnar. The timeline can get kind of messy, if you try to make it all fit in, because there's just so much stuff. The one thing I always stick by is Atli being considerably older than her (by a decade or more) and them not being particularly close, due to the "Atli didn't give much of a damn about getting compensation for her death, it was just a pretext to get the gold" interpretation, which is the one I tend to favor.
Nibelungenlied/Waltharius/continental sources: Here, I tend to see everyone as a bit older then their Norse counterparts. Siegfried, after all, has already conquered something like twelve kingdoms and gained his fair share of fame through distant lands by the time he comes to Worms -- and while dragon-blood-enhanced strength must certainly come in handy with all that, all in all, it must still have taken him some time. Still, I do seem him as kind of younger than you'd expect with his curriculum. A little older than yet still a good fit for Kriemhild, a maiden who's definitely able to fall in love and fall hard yet doesn't seem to have ever felt that kind of feeling for anyone before meeting him, to the point she used to see the whole thing as something foreign and that she could totally just choose to avoid.
My birth order for her and her brothers is generally Gunther > Gernot > Kriemhild > Giselher. With the eternal "youth" Giselher, who gets stuck with that title even in later parts of the poems being kind of the baby of the family. Not literally, ofc, but in the sense that, even if the poem counts him as one of the three kings of Burgundy and protectors of Kriemhild, it's his brothers who handle most of the harder work even while kind of "mentoring" him on kingship through the rather hands-on method of having him rule alongside them. Anyway, I see this whole set of siblings as pretty close in age, too, just to avoid overcomplicating my life, but with a couple of years separating Gunther & Gernot and Kriemhild & Giselher, something that also influences their dynamics as siblings.
When it comes to Hagen, I'm very influenced by the Waltharius, where he's presumably the same age as Walther and Hildegund and somewhat older than Gunther. I still don't see him as that much older than his kings, tho, as I interpret Gunther being too young to be sent away as a hostage to the Huns as him really being very young. Think Hagen being in his early teens and Gunther still being a child at the time. I tend to assume something like an at least five years difference between them, and then Gunther ascending to the throne a bit younger than he should probably be due to Gibich's very sudden and premature death, with Ute being his counselor (or trying to be, at least -- Wasgenstein wasn't exactly the most brilliant idea and I do think she opposed it but also that in the end it was still his choice) for the first few years and then him naming Gernot (and finally Giselher) as his co-kings as soon as possible due to feeling the pressure of being the only ruler as soon as he got started on the job. (Which, in my head, also contributes to him only setting his eyes on a bride rather late, despite the court muttering a bit about it at times... too much stuff on his mind already, and for a good while, too.)
Dankwart is an interesting case, as in the latter half of the poem, he claims to have also been just a youth when Siegfried was murdered. Granted, I've seen interpretations dismissing that info as a mere messed-up timeline or as Dankwart just lying through his teeth, due to his role in the court of Worms, but I personally find more interesting/funnier to take it as face value. The idea of him being about as cunning as his older brother Hagen and proving himself as an asset to the kingdom from an early age (perhaps in part to live up to Hagen himself and his deeds) yet playing the "I am/was only a regular youth" card when it suits him is higly entertaining to me. As for their sister, the mother of Patravid and/or Ortwin, I see her as the oldest of the trio, and definitely already out of the house by the time Aldrian volunteers Hagen as a substitute hostage.
(I'm not very fond of the "Hagen as Gunther's uncle/family friend so dear he might as well be a blood-related uncle" thing, tbh. Does it have some backing? Yeah. Do I see it in the way the characters interact? Not really, and that's what matters the most to me.)
Etzel/Attila was already a considerable threat for the Burgundians at the beginning of the Waltharius, and married, too. And yet, apparently still childless... unless his children with Helche, who iirc get killed by Witege at some point, have already died by then. (But that does involve Dietrich, after all, and... er, I'm talking about him in a moment, let's leave it at that for now.) So, he's a bit of a question mark to me. Tho I like to think he and his wife ended up treating Hagen, Walther, and Hildegung almost like their children, whatever void in their life they're trying to fill by doing that... but ofc, that was a whole mess in it's own way, when everyone was perfectly aware that a broken treaty could spell death for any of those three. (Hi and welcome to a new episode of: Waltharius Manu Fortis Absolutely Obliterates Halja's Feels, I suppose.) I do see his later marriage to Kriemhild as a kind of May-December romance. Or, well, "romance."
Dietrich is... Dietrich. If Brynhild's complicated and Etzel a question mark, he is a headache. I'll admit I've never even tried to build a timeline for him that could possibly make sense in my head. Stephan Grundy has a bit of a running joke about him looking like he never gets old/no one being able to figure out his age for sure, and, tbh, I totally get him. Drag him.
Bonus Wagner's Ring Cycle: I'm pretty sure Gunther mentions being the firstborn... tho I've only ever read the libretti/subtitles to the operas in Italian and English, so for all I know, he might as well be just saying that he has the right of primogeniture, as the one legitimate male son. Still, I see Gutrune as the middle child and Hagen as the youngest. This is another canon that skews very young in my head, with Siegfried, the Gibichungs, Wotan's eternally-maidenly Valkyries, as well as Siegmund and Sieglinde in Die Walkure, all being some subset of Troubled Teen Who Needs Therapy (As Well As Better Parents), Not This Shit. Based on the implied timeline in Die Walkure, I think of Hagen as just a little older (a few months to a year, no more) than Siegfired. I love to joke about the former being a cynical goth/emo teen (Hagen's Night Watch scene and its endless -- if objectively kind of justified -- bitching, my beloved) and the latter being your typical meathead teen jock. I also joke about Gutrune being the stereotypical middle child with no self-esteem and Gunther being the young adult who should probably be at least a little more mature and responsible than everyone else, given his age, but is really just a mess on every level, but alas, I do that mostly just in my head, because sometimes I get the impression it's mostly just me seeing (or being interested in seeing) them this way.

im a zutara multishipper though i often feel like a fake cause im not as hardcore as most of em.. i forgot all about that scarf scene its not as memorable as I'll save you from the pirates is that probalmatic imeaniguess but it was a fun scene in the cartoon ..
. so many zuts are celebrating over a silyl scarf scene but i can tell there's higher chances of hell freezing over than zutara and i dont look forward to them going again We were robbed when it doesn't happen. i love being a multishipper though cause i was very well fed with zukaang
im begging shippers not to bully gordon over shipping and it is interting to note how uncomfortable zutara makes the actors prob cause they recognize Kia is a teenager and Dallas is 22 year old.. theres hooplah over how the age gap is fine cause she' ll be 18 and theres a difference with 11/14 vs 15/ year old met guy when he was 20. of course kia is uncomforatble with zutara she met dallas aas a child. but here we got people treating her like she's an adult already.
the way kia is talked about creeps me out and i still think about the people telling me im a fake fan bec i think maybe we dont talk about kias age like shes not even real. i do enjoy the fanart comig from promo pics cause people are super talented but sometimes . it feels that people are shipping Kia/Dallas more than zuko/katara
Hi!! Honestly it's fine if you ship even if things for the ship are considered 'problematic'. I mean I ship Zukka and both of them have genuinely wanted each other dead or gone for a good chunk of the show lol.
I think, and I'm not going to generalize and say EVERY Zutara shipper, but one thing I've encountered as a pattern of difference between Zutara shippers and every other ATLA ship shipper, is canonicity. Zukaang, Zukka, Jetko, MaiLee, TyZula, Tokka, Taang, none of them are of the mindset that their ship will be canon so no one has any real problems with these ships. But a lot of Zutara shippers I've seen on twitter at least are convinced that Zutara was meant to be canon, and this inability keep fanon and canon separate is what's getting people's hopes up. And when it's made clear that these ARE separate, there's upset. I've seen the same thing happen with multiple other shippers and ships across fandoms.
Being a multishipper sounds fun anon, and I hope you're doing well <3
You're so right on the way people act about and treat Kia. Dallas has on interview said Kia is like a little sister to him, and yeah people keep forgetting that these two met when Kia was a child and he was an adult. It's why Dallas and Ian are fine when they talk about Zukka or can joke about "shipping" them.
I've noticed that people are doing the thing again(in 2024 dear GOD), where they keep waiting for young girls to be "legal" to be fucking creeps. People did it with Billie Eilish, the Olsen twins and a bunch of other female celebs and artists. I just feel terrible for her and Gordon, and I wish people would stop being weird about the actors and take a hint because Kia, Dallas, Gordon- none of them are being subtle about being uncomfortable about zutara. The only way they can be more obvious is plaster it on their foreheads. I didn't know about people talking about...ugh I can't even say it, Kia and Dallas like a ship GROSS. Leave Kia and Dallas out of it gosh. I got an ask a while back basically saying people will stop being mean to Gordon if Zutara becomes canon and I was flabbergasted. Like, you won't treat a child, with respect and dignity, because your 20 year old ship isn't real???
I've said this before, but people are just jumping to make Kia out to be more...older? People saying she looks like Gordon's mom(I will hunt these people on sight she looks like a child). And it's this, intermixing of sexism and racism and colourism (I've seen people be extremely disgusting about Dallas and Gordon too about their appearance. Pretty much everyone who doesn't fit into Western beauty standards are receiving awful hate- Thalia Tran playing Mai, Elizabeth Yu playing Azula).
People seriously need to get a grip and start learning to differentiate between fiction and real human beings or this is going to hurt EVERYONE involved, but especially Kia and Gordon. It doesn't matter if Kia is 18, she DOES NOT LIKE IT. DALLAS sees her as a sister, like i wish people would keep that in mind.

I get that Red was trying to help Eric from making a mistake by marrying too young. He and Donna were too young to get married (it’s my opinion they could’ve still been engaged and waited till after they graduated high school to marry). But I think Red was going too far by taking away everything that Eric earned— especially his job! That was vindictive and completely unnecessary. I hated how he did that to try to prove a point he couldn’t make by “demoting” Eric back to a ten year old. Red wanted Eric to be an adult TM, but by taking away his son’s responsibilities, he wasn’t doing that. Eric was really trying to prove to his father and everyone else he could handle supporting himself (and by extension Donna, even though she’d be working too), but Red took away all his chances.
I don't like how Red or Kitty reacted to Eric and Donna's engagement, either. That being said, I also understand their point of view.
Eric and Donna are only seventeen. While the planned length of their engagement is never explicitly stated or discussed in season 5, Red and Kitty's behavior implies that Eric and Donna plan on a relatively short one. Otherwise, Eric and Donna would've told them to chill because they don't plan on marrying until after college.
They never communicate that intention, however. If they had, the storyline would have fallen apart. The writers purposely never define the planned length of the engagement so that all the conflict between Eric and his parents can happen.
Red and Kitty fail to dissuade Eric and Donna verbally, including asking them simply to postpone the engagement by one year -- which, again, implies that marriage would soon follow.
Red tries to give Eric a dose of reality by firing him from PriceMart, that once married Eric wouldn't be a kid who could rely on his parents to fix or find solutions to his problems. Problems that would now be adult in nature: being financially responsible for his adult family, living expenses, future children (T7S prime canon, not T9S AU canon).
Neither Red nor Kitty want Eric to grow up unprepared, foregoing college because the responsibilities of marriage and maybe kids at a young age means he'll have to work full-time. We know from "Hunting" (season 2) that Red very much wants to prepare Eric for taking care of himself in a much less kind environment than his home -- i.e. the world.
Red and Kitty are desperate to get through their determined, stubborn, teenage son, who doesn't yet have the wisdom borne from experience to make different choices. He has an arrogance that many teenagers have about their choices. It's part of the growth process.
So Red pushes Eric and Donna to get married right away, at seventeen) to scare them into postponing engagement/marriage.
The one act that I believe goes too far is Kitty sabotaging Eric getting the bank job. Again, I understand why she does it. She's right to believe if he gets that job that he'll delay college or never go. And if I were in her position, I might want to make a similar choice (I wouldn't necessarily act on it).
But Eric will live and by his own choices as an adult. He's made his decision at seventeen, and in a year -- at eighteen -- he's legally an adult. Getting that bank teller job is another indication that he and Donna planned on a short engagement.
Red and Kitty are parenting Eric the best, imperfect way they can, trying to protect Eric from his own dumbassery.
I do think that an in-character Donna, at least, would have insisted on a long engagement that lasts through college. Eric would have agreed to it, too, even if he were eager to be married during college. But the T7S writers began manipulating the characters in season 5 to manufacture conflict and put plot first.

hey! i havent had tumblr for a while but ive been thinking about cathys eldest sister who wants to run away when she turns 18. is she equipped at all to deal with the outside world? all of the kids seem pretty isolated. ty!
hello anonymous -- first of all let me just say, i am really touched that you remembered my story, and even a pretty minor character in it, and remained so interested that you sent this ask even after being away. really it means a lot more to me than i could ever articulate, i was so stunned and happy that you would. i appreciate it a lot. i really hope someday i can make the story real so that you'll be able to have all these answers without tumblr asks, LOL.
which made me think about -- how mysterious do i want to be to make sure everything still stays fresh if i ever do write it , lol. i thought for a bit about this, and i think i can still say plenty of things without giving away any plot beats or information i havent already shared. espescially about the character youre inquiring on ! so: about bridget.
even though bridget is a side character whose arc plays out largely incidentally in the background of the story, she's definitely the supporting cast member i've thought about most, because she shares a lot in common with catherine, but her motivation to escape is from a completely different perspective, and her approach is entirely different as well because of that.... i'm not sure how much i've talked about catherine's family's history, but they haven't always lived where they live, and they haven't always been as isolated as they are ; bridget is one of the few kids in the family who is old enough to remember a time when she was marginally less secluded from the world, where she was permitted to have relationships among a slightly broader community, instead of having no one and nothing outside of the nuclear family. this, combined with the amount of time she's spent living the way that she does, and the increased responsibility /mistreatment she incurred by being born first, leads her to a feeling that is shared between only her and cathy among her siblings, that something is deeply, implacably wrong with the only world she's ever known, and an abstract need to "run away" as a result.
UNLIKE cathy, bridget has the perspective to know that there does exist a world outside(though she's never been part of it) that she can run away to. because of this, and due to the repertoire she has built up over the years by adequately obeying her parents and avoiding their scrutiny, and her general grew-up-too-fast big sister maturity, she has the increased freedom and general skills she needs to actually enact an escape plan . to get to the meat of your question, though, that definitely does not translate exactly to being able to survive well and easily when she leaves. basically the only thing bridget has ever been is a homemaker, essentially; her days are commanded by the needs of her siblings and the demands of her parents, and there's little room for developing any sense of agency outside of her role as fill-in mother to the younger children in the family. i can't imagine there's anything she even wants to do when she gets out -- she wouldn't have any idea how to want things in the first place -- she has been actively discouraged from learning administrative adult tasks even as mundane as shopping for herself or driving a car out of a desire to keep her subserviant, and she has no safe grown-ups in her life to teach her these skills. she has no education outside of her family's """"homeschooling"""", and when she leaves, she will have no access to her legal paperwork, and no funds or resources whatsoever. which is all to say: bridget knows how to take care of herself and take care of her siblings and take care of her household, but she doesn't know how to be a human being, and she has none of the prerequesites that society would expect from her. even as the /least/ isolated member of the household, she's been completely cut off from any ability to develop as a person, form external relationships, and live without relying on her parents, because that's how catherine's parents maintain their sense of control.
so, the long and short of it is this: the reason that catherine's family is the way it is (and ESPESCIALLY in the case of bridget, whose obedience they rely upon to keep the household running smoothly) is that catherine's parents want to raise adult children, who are simultaneously competent enough to personally benefit the parents in keeping up appearances and in putting in less work themselves, and also so completley reliant on them ideologically, financially, and emotionally that they have no hope of surviving in the outside world. thta's the situation bridget is in when she decides to escape.
that being said, i think she's alright... much like cathy, i try to keep my own ideas for "what happens to this character" private, because i would really like to leave it at "there's no right answer". the main emotion i'm writing this story from is a feeling of lack of closure -- a story where nothing good happens, everyone is worse off at the end, and the main character is left all alone with her memories, wondering for the rest of her life if any of it even happened, not knowing if anything turned out okay, and having to carve out a place to live in that painful ambiguity... that being said, my hope for my own characters is that they'll have a happy ending in the audience's head.. and i feel like i can strongly picture bridget living in a big city somewhere very far away long after catherine's story ends, coming home after work to a tiny , mostly empty apartment, her own space, and thinking for the first time that she can finally breathe.
thank you so much again for your inquiry <3

💯 🍎 ❤️ 😊 the parkerrrrr
💯💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your OC that others may not know
While it's an out of universe fact, Parker's WIP name was "Jess", which I scrapped because she was always intended to be Jake's girlfriend, and I didn't like how they both had J names. Instead I just swapped the first letter around and made Tess her own OC
For an in-universe fact people don't know about her, I'd say it's probably that her middle name is "Mary-Anne". She really hates it, and ends up (il)legally changing it to "Marion" quietly and just banks on the fact no one but Jake knew she changed it
Final fact is that she has literally like an anti-haircare routine. Her tentacles just naturally are drier than most peoples, but a lot of that is some poor health on her part, so when she is actually physically healthier, she'll just... dry them. She haaates the feeling of actually healthy tentacles and would rather just dry them out
🍎 RED APPLE — where was your oc born? do they still live in/around their place of birth or do they live somewhere else? how do they feel about their birthplace?
She was born in a pretty shitty and rundown suburban area of one of the more populated Octarian domes. She fucking hates it there for soooo many reasons and the instant she leaves her goals become to get as far away from there as possible and to never return. Not only because of her horrendously abusive family, but like... it's just not a good place to live! It USED to be a more important area with more higher ranking individuals living around, but the quality has just gone down, and the general view of it by others is that it's meant largely for those who are struggling to hold onto their rapidly falling ranks, something that is absolutely true for Parker's family, which results in a relatively clean and respectable house on the outside, and a falling apart mess on the inside.
❤️ RED HEART — what are three of your oc's positive traits?
As much as she's so frequently awful to the people around her, she is basically always willing to suck up her pride and go apologize. Above all else she wants the people in her life that she wants around to stay around, even if that means she has to go apologize for escalating arguments.
She's very confident, and frequently that confidence is not misplaced. With that, she's basically THE biggest supporter of the people she cares about. If they want to do something and they're nervous of it, she WILL push them to do it, and she WILL be their most vocal supporter through it. She'll also threaten the non-supporters, to varying degrees of "being okay with that" from whoever she's trying to support, but hey, at least she's trying!
She's very capable of being charming when she tries. A lot of her dickishness is based in the idea that she has the right to be an asshole, it's FULLY within her right to decide to be cruel and mean, but because she's aware that that's a choice she's making a lot of the time (...not... always!), that also means she's very capable of choosing not to! That's how she's managed to have a reputation as a bit of a ladykiller even with how awful she can be, Parker trying to win someone over is a very different person to Parker who doesn't need someones approval.
😊 SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES — what are your oc's career/general life desires? what do they want to get the most out of life?
SHE DOESN'T KNOW <3 <3 <3
This very question is why she self-destructs and burns literally every bridge she has. With how deeply controlling and abusive her homelife was, to which her escape was the military, so just AS abusive and controlling, she's never really been given the chance to be a person, much less an adult, so the prospect of having that control, having that life where she can have goals she's working towards and a career she cares about, it's entirely outside her understanding of how her world has worked so far, and it terrifies her. Even years after she burns Literally Every Bridge She Can, after she surfaces and starts trying to recover from the decades of trauma she has, she doesn't really have a goal or career or idea of what she wants to get out of life. She wants to be with her partner, she wants to take care of her nudibranch, and she wants to... figure the rest out later.
#my OCs#sorry this came off less comprehensible than i was hoping#also say hi to alina for that screenshot. parker is real and she CAN hurt you

"Kazana Was Right" the Movie
Welcome to my +Anima Sailand arc rant. We're going to talk about trauma, slavery, and dumb canon. Also this bird man. A lot about this bird man.
TW- slavery (heavy focus on slavery apologism), child abuse, trauma, fantasy racism, manipulation (more explicit in this rant than canon)
Two Minute Crash Course
So because this is a rare fandom, I'm gonna assume only I know who these characters are and what their world is so-
+Anima is about people called +Anima, who can use the power of animals for self defense. They only get one animal species, determined by whatever is skittering nearby during a traumatic experience in childhood. This power- also called a +Anima- disappears when the person is safe and loved. +Anima are discriminated against, so most keep their powers into adulthood.
The main characters are three children and one teenager. Their names are Cooro (crow +Anima), Husky (fish +Anima), Senri (bear +Anima), and Nana (bat +Anima).
Cooro was born with his +Anima due to shenanigans, making him more comfortable with it than other characters. He is also my blorbo- very squishable. Nana does not like her +Anima much at all, and is the most fashion conscious member of the group (yes girl but she can also sew which is cool). Senri is heavily traumatized and is generally quiet with a heart of gold. He also a member of the Kim-un-kur, a Native American-esque group who worships +Anima. Husky is a boy who looks like a girl and easy to anger. He is also a prince of Sailand.
Kazana is not part of the regular cast. But I will not describe him here because you're about to hear his life story.
There are two countries in this setting, separated by a mountain range where the Kim-un-kur live. One is Astaria, the setting of 70% of the manga. The other is Sailand. The main difference between them is- in Sailand- slavery is legal and +Amina/Kim-un-kur slaves are common.
The Sailand arc is about three issues long and is set entirely in Sailand. It contains backstory stuff for Husky and Senri. But we're not here to talk about that in-depth (though I will discuss what's relevant for Senri).
Got all that? Good. Time to move on.
Wish Upon a Star
Kazana became a hawk +Anima through unspecified means. He carried the ability into adulthood. Since he's a +Anima in Sailand, he was inevitably enslaved. At least one of his owners is known, and it's this bitch.
Bitch Lady Crystala owns one of multiple caravans in Sailand. To help her run the caravan, she owns a lot of slaves. The manga will bend head over heels to convince you she's a "nice" slave owner and her slaves are "happy" under her rule. Yuck.
Kazana was once one of her happily brainwashed minions. But after overhearing a particular conversation, he learned Crystala is the king's sister. There is some mumbo jumbo about succession which prevents her from ruling, and her relationship with the king is strained. But she still has his ear, and is in the best position out of anyone in the manga- save the king himself- to abolish slavery.
But instead of doing that, Crystala perpetuates slavery under the guise of being a "good master". She can- at any time- release her slaves. She chooses not to. Even twelve year old me knew something was up with this. Adult me- with more adult understanding- is honestly disgusted.
Understandably, Kazana is hurt. He's somewhat betrayed, too, as he thought Crystala really cared for him and the other +Anima under her ownership. This moment proves that not only doesn't she give a shit, but she is actively ignoring her ability to play the right fiddles and make some progress.
So Kazana takes matters into his own talons. He runs away and forms a group called Wish. These +Anima aim to end slavery, with Kazana also hatching a plot to assassinate the king and stage a coop. Upon becoming king, he plans to free slaves from their bondage. It is implied he would also take his rage out upon their former masters. I never said the man was perfect. But he is justified in his resentment.
All good stuff, ruined by a few things. We don't get to see much of Wish's membership outside Kazana. This essentially dehumanizes them. Yes there's a cool lizard guy, but what's his name? We also don't know how close Kazana is to his subordinates. Is he a strict ruler? Do they laugh together? Is he kind but closes his heart?
My headcanon is "a mix of the three, mostly the last one". Kazana has charisma- enough to attract followers- but I don't see him being very open after already being bitten once.
The aforementioned glorification of Crystala also becomes an increasingly large issue as the story progresses. And this is where we bring the protagonists in.
There's a lot left unanswered with Wish. Twelve year old me made a whole ass OC to try and find answers but never followed through. Maybe I should revisit my rat boy. But that's the subject of another rant.
Makes No Difference Who You Are
The four main characters are in Sailand to reunite Husky- however briefly- with his mother. Shenanigans get Cooro and Nana separated from Husky and Senri. The latter two are captured by slavers. But let's follow Cooro and Nana for now, as they enter a town and find +Anima everywhere. This is not common in Astaria, so the naive children get to believe for a second that they will be accepted.
They also wind up chased by slavers. Luckily, a coyote +Anima named Daisy spots them. Unluckily, she's one of Crystala's pets, and her owner is nearby. The two develop a ruse, locking Cooro and Nana in collars to trick the slavers. It works! Yay! But when Cooro attempts to return his collar...
As a blanket statement for everything that happens after this- I don't blame the main four for gushing over Crystala. They are children, and see no reason not to trust her. She not only bailed out these two, but saved Senri in the past (more on that later) and is directly related to Husky. They are too young to understand anything past "nice lady helped us". Senri has an extra wrinkle we'll discuss later.
Cooro and Nana travel with the caravan to try and rescue their friends. It happens to stop in a town where Senri is being sold. And this is where Wish makes its move.
Wish uses a notably non-lethal and barely harmful method to get attention. The translation says it might be mustard, but since it has an equal chance of being hot sand and hurts no-one long-term, I'm going to ignore that.
Kazana attempts to rally the +Anima to join him. The manga tries to warn us of him, as he says +Anima have powers superior to humans. But this is a statement of fact. Kazana's flight and talons give him an edge over ordinary humans. There's also the niggling worry he might use those powers to hurt humans. And he probably will.
But the manga forgets something important. Kazana is still a man. An angry, hurt man, who has seen a lot of evil. He had to have suffered greatly to become a +Anima to begin with. The one person he trusted saw him as yet another slave- not a human being worth freeing. He is wounded. And in his mind, abolishing slavery/becoming king is the only way to heal that wound.
As this is just a demonstration, Wish retreats the second things get ugly. This includes Senri fighting to protect Crystala. Remember I mentioned she "saved" him? Senri carries a book to help with his fractured memory. It contains a flower that reminds him of Crystala, who kept him with her caravan when he was a child. In her "debt", he attacks Kazana.
But Kazana does not retreat until the town guard gets involved. Kazana taunts Senri, sure. But perhaps deep down, he saw who he once was. A man with nowhere to go, who believed Crystala's empty words.
Kazana offers Cooro and Nana a spot in Wish. They decline as they still need to find Husky. He warns them of Crystala, with what limited time he has left in that town. Because he knows he can't force them to come with him. That would make him no better. And yet, he holds out hope that Cooro and Nana can add two plus two and flee.
Before it's too late, and they also feel hurt.
Anything Your Heart Desires Will Come...
Kazana does not reappear until later. With Husky freed and armed with knowledge of the palace's inner workings, Kazana offers to help out. He asks Husky about the king's most likely whereabouts (though he mentions guards, they are not his main concern). Husky- suspecting nothing- tells him. Kazana helps the kids sneak in to see Husky's mother, then departs on his own mission.
Using his new knowledge, Kazana ambushes the king and attempts to assassinate him. Unfortunately, Crystala happens to show up. She tries to get Kazana to stand down, and he refuses.
Though Kazana claims Crystala will take over if he kills the king, this is just a ruse. He just wants her out of the way. And he knows what she desires- power. Why else would she willingly continue to keep slaves? Why would anyone? And so he fights on, the crown in sight, and- hopefully, too- the end of his suffering.
What must be rushing through his mind in this scene? The children he used? His allies in Wish? The younger man curled up inside him, writhing and screaming in rage? Perhaps not even a man, but a child- a little boy who once cried out in fear. In the sky was a simple hawk- his only salvation, and also the key to his doom.
With this one murder, he can save thousands. Perhaps he can save himself.
But just as Kazana knows Crystala is a snake in the grass, she knows him. She had to know him- to an extent- in order to gain his trust. And she is his downfall, easily defeating him in combat, striking weaknesses he might not have known he had.
Because that's how dangerous people operate successfully. They sink under your skin, until you don't own it anymore. They tattoo themselves under the nails, where they'll never truly leave.
These panels haunt me, because you can just see everything slipping out of Kazana's talons. He will never free his kind, and he will never know peace.
Crystala pulls another gambit, faking Kazana's death to prevent his execution by the authorities. Sadly, he ends up right back where he started. You see, Crystala has a nice little plantation...
Yes that is the fucking word the English translation uses.
Now that you're done puking in your receptacle of choice, the plantation contains- you guessed it- more +Anima slaves. Who supposedly lose their +Anima while working there. Recall that the only way to lose one's +Anima is to be in a safe, loving environment. While we can't confirm if the plantation really does make people lose their +Anima, it still uses slaves to operate. That sounds like the exact opposite of safe and loving.
It's a return to the very hell Kazana gave up everything to end.
Bottom of the Abyss
I admit part of this issue is +Anima's format. It's supposed to be about four kids wandering the world together, looking for their place in it. There's little room for huge political epics like this (that's why it's an arc). This and the characters being children inhibits how deep the author can go into things.
That being said, we're still left with an agonizing snarl. Not only has the problem of slavery not been solved, but Kazana is presented as a villain whose rule would unfairly subject humans to torment. He is seen as human enough to spare death, but only to "teach him his place". He has fallen, becoming an example to those who step out of line. One can easily assume that Wish disbands without its leader. Who knows how long until anyone challenges the law again?
The only good thing about this situation is the story forgets about Kazana. Though there is a mini comic showing him on the plantation, I refuse to believe he stays there forever. The sky calls. Sooner or later, he must leave. Do I think he'll stage a coop again? Unfortunately no. He's too hurt and too humbled. But I have a wish of my own- that he leaves that damn slave farm and finds his own place, wherever it may be.
I won't get it in canon. But I can daydream.

Isn't it like wrong to call Viserys a rapist? He groomed Aemma and Alicent but he didn't rape them in a sense he didn't go like Aegon with Dyana. There are many types of rape of course but like it seems wrong
*EDITED POST* (4/13/24)
Ask comes in response to this reblog/post. This is about the show, yes?
No this isn't like anything with Aegon raping Dyana, taking her surprise and her yelling at him to stop. BUT I'd say that seeing that your wife doesn't want you to touch her means she hasn't given consent. Alicent was very obvious in her lack of desire to have sex with Viserys.
We have no scenes of show!Viserys marrying and living life with Aemma before episode 1, right? So we have to assume that in HotD, he also married Aemma at the ages in the original story/the bks. Age is definitely a matter we can look at here to determine grooming or no grooming, but since this is a world where:
most noble marriages are arranged and those marrying often do not actually get to choose their legal partners
where the marrying AND consummating persons can be under our (American, idk abt other nations) legal age of 18
we need to see who pursued who before the betrothal (not the marriage, the betrothal) AND why they did so? Because there is a difference b/t:
someone trying to preemptively make their future spouse more comfortable with them so the eventual consummation isn't awkward or a "failure" or stressful or something else I add below about the anxiety to perform one's duty
--AND--
them claiming they are doing such only to get the target to fuck them/be more vulnerable to their influence.
There's no strong proof of him wanting a sick sense of control or influence over Aemma before they married or betrothed. There's no proof of Viserys asking or pushing for a marriage with her for the express purpose of fucking with a child, because he wanted to have that type of control over her or any child. And they were arranged to be wed. He was around 16 to Aemma's 11 when they married and they consummated their marriage when she was 13.
Under this context, the 2 years of waiting might have been seen as "too long", as much as it shouldn't have been, but for whoever were willing to marry Aemma off at her 11 yrs of age are probably those who also applied some pressure to said couple to consummate, EVEN IF the couple actually liked each other, too.
Even without some external entity actively or purposefully making that sort of pressure--either maliciously or impatiently, like ordering a consummation versus constantly asking about it--the couple themselves could have both felt anxious to perform their "duties" to & for their parents/authority figures/families. But we simply don't know for sure and it wouldn't be mutually exclusive.
The couple lived & grew up in a world with little concept of a strong "legal" age, or a boundary for girls that was also enforced by laws. A world where doing your duty to your families, to your "God", to the authority figures around, to oaths you take you were often held as higher ethical standards than doing what some of us moderns would think is an ethical duty to "humanity".
Adult!Viserys expressly chose Alicent, though. And with Alicent being very obvious, I don't see how he couldn't have seen Alicent's reluctance or hesitance in all the times they had sex (at least 4 for each child)? From what little we see, they don't seem to be a couple where they (really Viserys) at least watch for each other's cues or signs of desire in bed. AllegedlyLola on TikTok says it best of HotD!Viserys (but much can the same shoudl be said for his book version): he says he loved Aemma, that he will always love her, etc. and pedestalizes Aemma to the degree that Rhaenrya could never be Baelon, her siblings can never be her, and all to never really give us a real picture of who Aemma was so he does not have to divulge how some of his actions have ruined Aemma's life. Helaena not having kids or at least stop having them before Rhaenrya becomes Queen/he dies would have even helped Rhaenyra...smh. He doesn't ever think to not let his daughter Helaena marry at 13 & have TWINS not long after (as Aemma died in part bc she started having children WAY too early after they consummated their marriage); he forces his daughter to marry Laenor to fix a problem he created instead of actually thinking about what would be better for her claim and position--which is not to marry a gay man!, esp when everyone knows he is gay; I mention Alicent already...this is the same guy who marries a 15 year old but gets angry with Daemon for seducing his 19 year old daughter and saying she is just a "girl"...bro...Add on the fact he allowed a faction against his heir and be lead by his second obviously hostile Hand & wife exist in court instead of properly intervening and diminishing Otto and Alicent's influence over Rhaenrya so she wouldn't have to escape to Dragonstone...no self reflection, just constant deflection, ignoring, placating the wrong people, putting his foot down at the wrong moments, not pursuing certain avenues or voids of information like in the Vhagar claim incident AND allowed the same thing that happens to his first wife happen to his next wife and his two daughters...ugh.
Getting back to Alicent, remember, consent is not a one-size-fits-all. You need to constantly ask for it and confirm it.
Keep in mind that this is an HotD Watsonian reading/analysis. The writers chose to make show!Alicent so vulnerable and defenseless to introduce something that modern viewers would easier think of her with their no-under 18s (and in certain age gaps, really under 25s) rule without making them really think about what these people themselves were going through. It's easier to assess a medieval setting or circumstance with the rules of conduct that we follow and know and then apply to them as if they would 100% understand how we think INSTEAD OF us FIRST trying to understand how they would think & react to what they have had to live with or learned so that we may expose how/where the double standards are.
I'm not saying that we should go back to marrying 15 year olds, I'm saying take a breather and assess how these people will think & act and assign the "fault" of such to the world instead of just them. Where it's appropriate. I am also not saying that you shouldn't feel uncomfortable, either. I'm saying do the activity fiction requires of us and see through the characters' eyes to understand them instead of trying to enforce you own views right away and all the time to find the nuance.
Example, this Youtube commentator perfectly describes Alicent's mindset within the lens & contextual vocabulary of what the feudal world asks of its people, acknowledging her victimhood but still holding Alicent accountable/showing/implying how wrong she isr:

We already know how you feel about That Anime, but even you cannot deny its potential. I remember you mentioning some positives about it before...
Yep! While I won't hesitate ripping it to shreds, I also won't deny that there are indeed some cool tropes in it.
First, the plot itself is told from the villains' perspective, which it's quite fresh for the Magical Girl genre! I'm open to these types of parodies where the villain does regular stuff and interacts with the heroes normally outside of action with the occasional and hilarious awkwardness, too. That's why I love Machikado Mazoku and Mr. Villain's Day Off so much.
The heroine Utena is PAINFULLY relatable and self-aware, which it's yet another rare/underutilized character trope in the genre, too. When Venalita read their observation notes on the first episode, I felt like I was being put on blast. Not to mention how I find myself quoting "Why is this happening to me? I like Magical Girls..." every single time an inconvenience happens to me.
I also like how Venalita at least commits to their role as a bad guy. They actually stalk the heroine, manipulate her with a sad story, and threaten to reveal her alter-ego to the world if they refuse to cooperate. Unlike Kyuubey, who just straight up lies/omits to the girls that they recruit, and by the time when they discover the horrible truth, it's already too late (not to mention the overused and shitty "because you didn't asked." excuse).
Kiwi's character is also great, because she's not a villain because she went through some traumatizing sob story that's bordeline manipulative to the audience; she's a villain because she's tired of the Magical Girls stealing her spotlight as the cutest girl. She's not only petty, but also a highly destructive bitch.
And speaking of destructive bitches, Kaoruko/Sulfur is my fave of the Tres Magia. Usually the yellow-coded heroine either plays the role of the soft-spoken and responsible onee-san/senpai or the charismatic and eager Genki Girl; but Kaoruko is just so delightfully unconventional. She beat the shit out of a minion even before she joined the team, she's confrontational and swears regularly, she's got bitchin' gauntlets. She doesn't fit pre-determined molds, and I adore her.
I also like how the fighting sequences are genuinely intense. You usually don't see such high-octane fights outside of PreCure, so this wild change of pace is really cool. There are injuries, different power-ups/forms, creative usage of powers... if I didn't knew any better, I'd say there's some Shonen inspo involved.
But of course, all of that cool stuff I just mentioned is ruined by the constant illegal lewdness that drives the plot forward. I'd like to reiterate that I am not against kinks whatsoever (I'm a adult, miss me with that puritanical bullshit), but if you're gonna make lesbian porn, at least certify that your ladies are of legal age, or else it's a crime.

🍓🔪🍬🦴🥤 :D
Wheeeee
🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?
Tbh you think I'd remember but I really don't. I have vague memories of making Pokemon OC's but wasn't really introduced to the concept of fanfiction until my older sister got me into Hetalia and I found out about it while looking up fanart. I think I've discusses it before, though, that I didn't feel confident writing full-on fanfic for the longest time because I was too terrified about writing characters OOC. Idk what exactly made me get over it, maybe GG just instilled enough brainrot I couldn't help it
🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
See I dunno about 'weird' but I've done a lot of random shit I never thought would be relevant until I had to go look for it. Hard to objectively say what was the oddest so I'm just gonna make a list of some off the top of my head
-(I've repurposed a surprising amount of my learnings from mortuary for anatomical and medical reference)
-Giraffe/horse autopsy
-Introductory guides to Jamaican Patois
-"Can bats get polio"
-"Common clothing of Nepal"/"Common clothing of Tibet" (notable in that it ended up being relevant for half a paragraph)
-"Cheeses of Bhutan"
-"What is the highest proof alcohol you are legally allowed to buy"
-Profanities of numerous languages, including sign
-"How old are children before they can pronounce 'x'"
-Brazilian cryptids
-"least flammable bed fabrics"
-Treatment and recovery time of a PCL tear
-Step by step guides for kimono-wearing
-Bone throwing as a form of divination
-Adult clubfoot treatments
-"what type of video is security camera footage"
-"autoimmune diseases caused by stress"
-psychogenic stuttering
-how to replace/modify a clutch disk for a stick shift
-French homicide law
-Pyretic drugs
-LOTS of fish biology
🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character
Probably in part due to oversaturation, but Bridget is just...kinda boring. I find her concept and story endearing and sympathetic, of course, but she doesn't have the same kind of complicated themes and bizarre lore that engages me like a lot of the series' other characters to the point where I can delve into it and get on that level of brainrot.
🦴 ⇢ is there a piece of media that inspires your writing?
Can't simply say 'a.' I feel like I take a lot of bits from a lot of different stuff! I find I like to try and find 'weird' media frequently, though, I like seeing the bizarre concepts people can cook up and wonder if I'm not thinking outside the box hard enough. Likewise for horror, to a lesser extent
🥤 ⇢ recommend an author or fanfic you love
hweeeehhhh why do you always give me the tough ones. There's some really obvious picks, you and Jim and Roy and Crow, but I've probably done you all like three times already! Easy picks
Lemme see, if I wanna try and do something a little different than the obvious, I do have a couple recs! For anyone that's into Psychonauts, I totally recommend BabyCharmander (ESPECIALLY 'Cavity,' do not read anything else before you go into it, reading it for the first time hits you like a truck to the face) and The_Angst_Alchemist (Particularly if you're a Thorney Towers fan, they write the inmates with such panache and easily some of the best interpretations of Fred) It's a little more niche, but if you're an ARMS fan I recommend anything by MeltyMetroid, for a series that has such little lore they've written several incredibly fleshed out and well-constructed longfics (I'd recommend 'DisARMed' and 'Broken Mirror' for the plot-heavy jaunts and 'The Brass that Saved Christmas' if you want a good laugh)
Admittedly in general I don't pay as much attention to specific writers as I should, or the series I look for stuff for is so niche it doesn't really have dedicated writers

thanks to @pollenallergie i haven't stopped thinking about older!tom grant for days now, and while any fics i could write about him need to be put on the backburner for now (there's one that's been in the pipeline for a While now), here's some headcanons of my interpretation of what lil tommy g is like as an adult:
(under the cut bc long)
(also as i'm writing this i may or may not be planning fics that happen at each stage of the timeline)
(also x2 before any of u weirdos start hopping into my ask box, this is in no way trying to overshadow cassie's version of him, i'm just throwing my own ideas into the void. i love cassie's tom, and then in a separate universe, i can have my tom, too. also he's p much every guy i've ever pulled except he's way more romantic than any of my exes, so this is more self-catharsis than anything else LMAO)
okay so tom's timeline post-canon:
after his lil summer gigs at the caravan park, he moved back up north to derby and got a job at a construction company that's owned by an old family friend, like his dad's childhood best friend. it was always a given, even when he wanted to pursue a life living down in cornwall, he just couldn't stop associating the whole place with ruth and heartbreak and all manner of things that weighed heavy on his heart. and fuck that, right? he's got his whole life ahead of him!
he spends his first few years as a legal adult the way all british lads do - by spending at least two nights a week at some kind of pub, bar or nightclub. he can pull, of course, but the convenience of still living with his parents gives him an excuse to put off going any further with anyone. cassie's anon who suggested bi tom, i'm kissing you so hard on your forehead rn bc he'd literally spend like almost a year being just shy of his Hoe Phase, making out with anyone who wants to, regardless of their gender, but only while he's at the club, he never lets himself go further.
until that one night when his parents are away and his mates know full well that he's got no excuse and they're very obviously egging him on. (this would probably be the first fic in the series)
he moves out from his parents' place into a flat with a friend he's made outside of work, and that's when his lil slut era truly begins. (maybe a series of blurbs for this?) he lives with a friend he's made outside of work (any gender, it's not relevant bc bi!tom and his flatmate are 100% Best Buds For Life but also if neither of them find anyone worth pulling on a night out, they'll go back to the flat and fool around together anyway)
in his working life, tom absolutely thrives at the construction company. mostly bc he's known the workers his whole life, so he can have plenty of banter with them, but also, more importantly, he knows just enough IT skills to be able to help the owner with digitalising all the admin stuff. this means tom rises the ranks to supervisor pretty quickly, and everyone loves little Boy Wonder himself. he hates being in the office though, he's always out on site wherever the company's got jobs going. he's hands-on, he wants to help, he doesn't want to be a Big Boss Type
okay, from now on, this is the part in tom's life where he meets you, the person who ends up as his endgame. so this is a different character to those i might write about in his hoe phase, probably time skip a few years of tom taking a break from slutting it up and just casually dating until he knows exactly what he wants to give and take from a relationship.
and then he meets you. it's summer, and your work bestie has invited you over to her place to meet her boyfriend and her non-work friends for the first time. you're a little nervous, but you remember that she has a dog, so if all else fails, you can just go full Party Dog mode and switch everyone else off
it's not that you don't like her friends from outside of work, you just have way less in common with them than you do her, and it feels awkward trying to put yourself in conversations without her there, and she's all over this new fella of hers, so you go to your failsafe to find that someone else has had the same idea as you
tom's come along as support for his best friend, who's dating your work bestie. however, since the boyfriend is being walked like a dog around the whole party being introduced to everybody, tom isn't as sociable and was promised there'd be a Party Dog there, so he's gone looking, himself.
you guys bond v quickly over being Party Dog People, spending the night narrating different groups as though you're david attenborough and taking it in turns to let the dog comment in silly voices you both make up for it
stupidly, you don't get his number, or even his last name. one thing you'd learned about him is that he doesn't really use social media, which you can tell from the instagram account you find from several hours of snooping lightly browsing, which was last updated when he'd gone on a lads' holiday to ibiza several years ago, and only features group shots in which he's tiny and his face is mostly obscured with sunglasses. which means you've got to try and convince your work bestie to invite you somewhere that her boyfriend's friends are gonna be, too
thankfully, this is nice n easy, bc tom's been planning the exact same on his end. you guys get so lost in conversation all night that you almost forget to ask for his number, until you're rolling down the window in the back of the Uber you've ordered and he's hanging halfway through it to make sure he studies the screen so that he can make sure that everything he thinks he's saying matches up with what he actually is
the Uber driver gets a little peeved about this and is like "listen mate just get in so i can drive off" and tom sheepishly complies, ending up riding all the way home with you. you'd feel rude if you didn't invite him in, though a little part of you is sad that tom's just probably gonna be another one night stand bc you really liked him. you get another drink for the two of you once you're inside, he suggests the two of you watch something for a bit for some background noise. naturally, you cuddle up, and that leads to kissing - a lot of kissing. but he doesn't try it on any further. you both end up falling asleep on the couch until you wake up to the sight, sound n smell of him making himself home in your kitchen, cooking you breakfast
you guys have this sort of, slightly more than friends, not exactly friends with benefits, relationship that he isn't out here jumping the gun trying to define, so neither are you. you're trying to stay casual with it, to keep up with him, even though your work bestie keeps pushing you for more bc she doesn't believe that that's just what you guys are, but she's not making any hints that tom's suggested taking things further, and so neither will you. (would it be an rj fic if there wasn't a comedy of errors thanks to basic miscommunication? lol)
either a significant amount of months pass, or valentine's day approaches, and tom gets you a gift. it's not any big grand gesture, but it's something that v much pertains to something you really love. a hobby, an interest, some silly little objectification of an inside joke) you feel bad, of course, and he insists that he's just a gift giver by nature, it wasn't done with the intention of getting anything back. but after many minutes of bargaining, he relents and allows you to invite him over for a homecooked meal. this is when you guys talk it all out, explain that both of you have felt a Spark but didn't want to Assume so you'd been dialling it back to protect your friendship with each other. naturally: tom ends up spending the night, but not a lot of sleeping happens, if you catch my drift
now in terms of what the dynamic is with you and older!tom:
he's still the menace he was in his younger days. you head into the office to give him the lunch he forgot to make bc he'd been running late too busy eatin something ELSE amiRIGHT and his coworkers tease you for being so in love that you'll bend over backwards for him and you know as soon as they've said that, that any second tom'll be leaning in once they're looking the other way to mutter in your ear about how you certainly were bent over backwards for him last night
speaking of, remember how he hated being in the office? not once he starts dating you. any excuse he can get to have you in there with him, whether his colleagues know or he's snuck you in, he's there
i also think that. okay i'm also co-opting @mypoisonedvine's idea of tom having a housewife kink, but hear me out. so, you know there's that saying, if you joke about a kink long enough, you'll end up into it? i think something similar-but-not-really happens to tom. where he works with a bunch of older men with "traditional" values, they're always making jokes about being in trouble with the missus, or about whether he can't stay after work bc you've got the dinner on and you're expecting him home. and tom isn't afraid to call them out on it, to tease them right back that it sucks for them that their partners aren't into them, but he's just built different. but the more he vocalises against being into the idea of you being a stay-at-home wife, the more taboo it becomes. which means the sexier that idea becomes. which means soon enough, he's dreaming about you, looking after the house while he makes sure he can look after you. it becomes obvious after a while that he's got a specific fantasy in mind for you, so he eventually tells you, and you're into it, too. especially considering construction pays pretty decently once you're up the ladder like tom is, technically you're one let's do it away from making your fantasy a reality. but there's just something about sensationalising something so easily obtainable, but not giving into it, that makes it all the more exciting for you both
i don't think either of you fully make your minds up about whether you want to start a family or live the dink (double income, no kids) life forevermore and use your money to spoil each other. i think you guys spend most of your twenties and maybe some of your early thirties just enjoying life, travelling the world, indulging yourselves, until eventually you settle down. a lot of yours and tom's friends, especially the ones who have already started families of their own, question why you wouldn't want to start young, grow up with your kids, and then enjoy your later years without the responsibility. but you and tom have talked it through, and his mindset has always been that you don't stop being a parent once the kid hits 18, and that he's always thought life was for living, not for saving up for a future that never ends up coming because you're forever saving up for it
i've written way more than i initially intended to LOL but yeah, i might make this something? i might not? idk. but this is my tommy. <3

John Wick head cannon (idk which one already 💀):
• Caine & Koji were incredibly in love. A forbidden one. They knew whatever they had left of their past other than each other, they've lost. They love each other, yet are too afraid to love. Too afraid to find another, too afraid they'd hurt each other in the process. Koji saw Caine as a sweet, funny guy he once knew, the 20 years ago they've met; not the sarcastic, sad man Caine became over the years. Koji saw only the best parts of Caine, no flaw was ever detected. Caine remembers what Koji looks like, or at least, looked like. Caine saw him as a gentle, caring person, a single father raising a child. Caine never saw him again, he never can. A tale of beauty, a tale of heart break; that was all that the folks who knew would say; but never to Caine, especially not after what he had to do for John. He sees John as someone he truly does care for, someone he trained side-by-side as a young one.. Yet, the sacrifice he had to make, he regrets every day he lives, every breath he takes, every second that passes. John knew the importance of Koji to Caine, and Caine to Koji, but they never did, not until that very last breath.
• John can't sleep easily at night, always in a state of fear, and regret. He doesn't know what he fears; he only knows that the fear is not an other person; more of, himself. He regrets every breathing moment, from the day he started, to the day he takes his last breath; but until then, he will never be the same man. He killed the ones he loved, and in the process, killed himself, mentally. His state of mind, it only got worse. Nothing he's ever done, of anything he tries to do, it never helps the issues. It never did. He can only hope for another day, he can only pray for no other day. The only person who can Kill John Wick, is himself.
• Caine sits on his balcony every night since the death of Koji, the pale moonlight was never seen by Caine for so long, yet it seemed different now. More of, out there, a star watched him. His star; Koji. The one who shined so brightly, in the eyes of the blind man. Caine sits on his balcony, on the chair he brought with him, always talking to no one; talking about his day, knowing Koji was watching over him. He always had. Caine would always feel the warmth that fell upon him each time he knew Koji was around as he talks about what happened that say, and what might happen in the next. Caine could finally rest easy, knowing Koji was no longer in pain, in pain of protecting so many, sacrificing himself in the moment. Caine could only worry for the sake of Akira. Caine loved her like his own blood, his own family. Caine would rather die a death by Akira, than live a life of sadness. Akira saw Caine as a parental figure, but her heart wad torn in two places, not knowing how to cope any more. Caine is willing to die, just to see a smile on Akira's face once more, but he knew his death and Koji's death would make the situation for Akira worse, knowing she'd lose the other person she saw as a parent, after losing the first. She never did kill him. Caine took Koji's parental role, now no one else would, though she's legally an adult. Caine knew she needed comfort; and Caine knew he would be the only one who could be there.

The rest of the Sarvipöllö-Hollolas (Minus Aimo)
Finished up the rest of the Sarvipöllö-Hollolas (Minus uncle Aimo because I do not have his colors yet). More about them under the cut because I wrote a lot. Massive post. Images are described in alt text! As always, these folks are for the @halfstack-smp
In image order
Sampsa was born into the Waxcoat ships business but never enjoyed all the sights, sounds, and smells of the sea quite as much as their sister Tuulikki. They broke off from Waxcoat ships in their early 20s, traveling to the Luumuseo to take up their residence there, though never becoming the owner.
Sampsa's entire arm was blown off while he was firing a bow due to the family curse, causing more than one catastrophe that day. The arrow caught a rope connected to the main mast of one of the docked ships, setting the balance off just enough to cause all the sails to unfurl the wrong way into strong winds, immediately tipping the ship all the way over onto its side. Nobody died luckily.
Sampsa wasn't aware they were queer until one of his grandkids introduced the concept to him.
Sampsa currently works as an archival assistant at the family Luumuseo. Hannu makes sure to give them easy but interesting work and has made the space accessible to account for his missing arm. They have a prosthetic, it's just itchy and he doesn't need it constantly, so Sampsa will frequently go without it. He is married to Ilona.
Ilona was born to 'Tengu' parents with some questionable hybridization back in her lineage. She's married to Sampsa.
Ilona is an art historian and conservationist, spending a majority of her free time cleaning, repairing, and re-framing artworks sent to her for her conservation efforts. She's got an excellent eye for detail and can likely tell you who made what piece in what era no matter the piece she's shown. She's also excellent at spotting fakes or forgeries of original works, as well as legally reproduced copies. Ilona has amassed a small collection of artworks she's taken in for study and research purposes.
She dabbles in a little bit of painting herself and all of Sampsa's prosthetics have hand-painted details from her.
Severi is a fashion historian and regularly works with Ensi. to reproduce and preserve old fashions and sewing patterns found through the Family's archival efforts. Most gifts from either of them are immediately recognizable given that they're a handmade garment 90% of the time. Hannu's Shawl was a birthday gift from Ensi and Severi.
Severi does not have a personal clothing brand but does sell some of the things he sews or crochets on the side that she doesn't want to keep.
Severi's legs exploded slightly due to the family curse shortly after her 17th birthday. She uses a wheelchair to help him get around now. He let his kids decorate her wheelchair when they were all young and still lets them do so if they ever want to. She lives close to his great aunt Ensi and the two of them regularly swap patterns.
Saana is a talented linguist, specializing in the discovery of old languages, their reconstruction, as well as the creation of conlangs. Saana has created more than a few conlangs for her husband Janne's books and is always credited in the back.
Saana developed her passion for linguistics from a young age, spending most of her free time learning anything and everything she possibly could about all different languages from the resources her parents could provide. She's fluent in at least 5 languages and regularly makes up new conlangs for fun. Saana sometimes teaches linguistics courses at the same college Hannu graduated from. Janne was born to tengu parents in a spruce taiga home. He is married to Saana Sarvipöllö-Hollola. He writes fiction and fantasy books mostly aimed at child and young adult audiences, telling grand stories of worlds that do not exist like their own. He has a science fiction publication but that one was enough for him to decide that he never wanted to write sci-fi again.
Columba was born to Tengu parents in a birchwood forest home. He has no siblings and is married to Severi. He came out as trans at age 13, allowing that experience to be a part of their fashion concepts moving forward. He'd already begun taking sewing classes several years beforehand and started to make clothes that would both bring him some comfort and look spectacular.
Columba creates and sells 'designer' style clothes under the brand name Dove and Raven. Dresses, skirts, blouses, shirts, all made by hand and fit to each origin's particular requirements on sizing and shape. He occasionally gifts clothing to his family members but it's a bit difficult to get them all done in time so he mostly offers sewing classes.
Corvus is an avian origins weaponry expert and, as such, spends quite a bit of time around Inka. His kids love it there because Inka shows them cool sharp things they usually aren't allowed to touch. She spent quite a bit of time around her great aunt Inka as a child, leading to him developing a passion for avian origin specific weaponry. It keeps an unsafe amount of claw extending knives around the house but doesn't seem to see the issue with having them, much to the delight of her partner.
Emille assists her with with reproduction copies of old avian origins weaponry, some to send to the Luumuseo, some to keep at home, and some to bring to fairs for entertainment's sake. Aquila is an avian origins architecture expert, focusing on the preservation and restoration of Tengu and Sirin ruins. There's been some debate as to whether or not feathered draconis count as avian, but Aquila includes them in xir research anyways.
Aquila spent most of his time sketching as a kid, drawing building after building and floorplan after floorplan. Once he found the original building plans for the Sarvipöllö-Hollola Family Luumuseo, Xir love for architecture only grew. One of his notable contributions was the addition of disabled avian origin friendly architecture in both the Sarvipöllö-Hollola Family Luumuseo and The Downfeather, calling on older blueprints for similar structures that had fallen out of modern usage.
Emille reproduces both actually dangerous and child-safe versions of historically avian origin produced weaponry. The dangerous reproduction stay at home, go to Inka, or go to Hannu at the Luumuseo. The safer reproductions are sold at fairs for entertainment's sake for younger audiences and also occasionally given to Raine and Siv as both education and a way to entertain them.
Emille picked up their love of blacksmithing from the local Daystone population, being taught by a smith that they remember as having iron inlays and strong but gentle hands. As such, most of their crafts are intricately detailed and tend to resemble the works of a daystone rather than the works of a faun. Raine fancies themselves a writer and is working on their own vast, interconnected web of lore for their 37 magical wolf oc's. Ae has always been a particularly ferocious reader, regularly demolishing upwards of 40 books over the course of a few months or so. Currently ae's obsessed with aer uncle Janne's book series, A Dance of Stars and Storms. Siv is going about her life as any 10yo child does. She is ABSOLUTELY convinced that she's an aspect of Aelrys. She isn't, but she has horns and wings and so does Aelrys so she's 100% convinced she is.
If you've somehow read all the way down here, thanks! I'm going to go dunk my head in cold water to cool off my brain.

Kid Human Perry Stuff
You know I've seen various Human Perry the Platypus AUs. When he's an adult he's always Phineas and Ferb's Uncle, typically from Ferb's side of the family.
Which I've never exactly understood why. Is it because of teal and green being more similar than teal and orange? Or is it because they also tend to make him Australian, and Australia is part of the british commonwealth?
Not to mention making him a Fletcher doesn't really make any sense, because it seems like most of the time the AU also makes him adopted. Like I feel like I've primarily seen AUs in which he's Lawrence's adoptive younger brother.
Anyways this post isn't about that. This is more about Human Perry who is also a child AUs, which there are significantly fewer of, primarily because Human Perry was more or less created by Perrysmirtz shippers to make it less taboo.
So child Human Perry the Platypus, how does he fit into the Flynn-Fletcher household. He's obviously way too young to be Linda or Lawrence's sibling, because I'm having him be close to the same age as the boys and Candace. Right in the middle. If Candace is (recently turned) 15, and the boys are 9 (8-10) then Perry is 12.
He can't be a nephew. Tiana (Linda's sister) doesn't have kids and we see her get married in the series. While Adrien (Lawrence's brother) wouldn't have named him Perry.
He could be adopted. Linda and Lawrence could have adopted him after they got married, but that wouldn't make too much since as they haven't adopted each others' kids yet. Ferb is still just a Fletcher, while Candace and Phineas are both still just Flynns, while both Linda and Lawrence are Flynn-Fletchers.
He could even be a foster. Which would explain how OWCA would be able to just rehome him to a new family if they ever decided he had to be relocated, or his secret identity as an agent was revealed to his family.
I however vote on Perry being Ferb's older half brother on his mom's side.
Let me explain. So Lawrence and Linda obviously at one point had long lasting and serious relationships with different people. Linda with Candace and Phineas's bio-dad, and Lawrence with Ferb's bio-mom. Not to mention both Linda and Lawrence both whole heartedly take on and treat their step-children (remember no legal adoption) as their own children.
So I could totally see Lawrence still getting with Ferb's bio-mom, even if Ferb's bio-mom already had a kid from a previous relationship (human Perry). Like he married Linda and she already had two kids.
Anyways, Lawrence did indeed end up adopting Perry, so Perry is legally a Fletcher, but he's not biologically related to anyone but Ferb. He had to adopt Perry in order to retain custody after the death of his (first) wife shortly after Ferb was born.
So Perry and Ferb are bio-half-brothers but legally full brothers. And they're both Candace and Phineas's step-siblings. If Perry really needs to be Australian than his and Ferb's bio-mom can be Australian.
She died too early for Ferb to pick up the Australian accent, which is why he's so completely British. While Perry learned her Aussie accent long before his introduction to Lawrence (his step and later adoptive father), and later the American accent.
We already know that accent drift isn't a thing in P&F's world, with Ferb being the clearest example of this. He's apparently lived in America around americans for years, but his accent is just as british as any other british character in the show. With it being implied that he and Lawrence joined the Flynns in America when Ferb was a toddler.
So in P&F accent is something that's more or less set for the rest of your life by the time you get the talking thing down.
The OWCA situation is a bit different in this AU. You see, the thing is, Perry isn't an official secret agent. Or at least he didn't start off his nemesis-ship with Doofensmirtz that way.
His beef with Doof originally started because as we can see from canon. You see, Doof's inators very frequently just end up pointed at what Phineas and Ferb are doing in the backyard. Occasionally directly putting them in danger.
Much like how Isabella figures out that Doof's building was the origin of the static plague in Night of the Living Pharmacists. Perry similarly figured out where all these crazy sky beams that occasionally put his little brothers in danger were coming from, and went out to put a stop to that.
I imagine he eventually got co-opted into OWCA at one point, because that's kind of what OWCA does. Just accept/shanghai any effective agent that they can find. Let us not forget Planty the Potted Plant. And he's been with them for at least a couple years by the time we get to The Summer (the one that starts with a roller-coaster).

Was Kigo always a controversial ship in the fandom? Or is the controversy fairly recent? Is Shego really on her mid twenties?
it has always been controversial. as stated in my previous posts, it's so controversial in fact that depending on who you talk to it can be toxic on both sides. I have friends who have been so attacked, they won't post/reblog certain things for fear of the wrath of the kigo shippers... i have friends who won't reblog this post on the off-chance it could enrage some of them.
kigo shippers control the KP wiki, they edit articles to make it sound like kigo is canon, and they edit articles to hate on Ron and make him seem like the worst possible person to ship with Kim. others who try to edit the wiki to be strictly factual find themselves eventually blocked and their edits removed, and kigo opinions returned.
on the flip side, I've seen kim/ron shippers here on Tumblr viciously attack kigo shippers. and in at least one instance when I tried to help out a kigo person just by saying "ignore the trolls and eventually they'll go away," I got attacked by that person for not outright supporting them and called homophobic because I don't ship it too. apparently my saying they have a right to ship peacefully wasn't enough; they demand you also ship their ship, which is not fair. seen the same toxicity with johnlock... you can't even be neutral. if you're not with them, you're against them and must be destroyed, in their view. at least, that's the reputation certain people have created for that entire side of the fandom (johnlock and kigo... sorry i'm still salty about mid0nz getting bullied offline.)
thus, I have learned my lesson and I try to stay out of any ship war when I see it. I gave up on the wiki years ago and I don't get involved except to say "don't like, don't read" and DNI with trolls and ppl who behave in a toxic way.
however, yes. Shego is CLEARLY an adult. which makes kigo a ship between an adult and a minor, which is not okay. and making Kim "legal" just doesn't work for me, morally. it's kind of sickening to me that people think a birthday going from 17 to 18 suddenly makes something okay. but that's just me.
that's one of the things I LOVE about the live action movie. it clearly showed that Shego is VERY much an adult. and Kim is very much a teenager. my friends and I talk about how the reason we think a lot of people hate on the movie so much is because it destroys kigo by revealing the ship as inappropriate. I don't want to assume a person is pedo, but...if you know Kim is a literal child and you still ship it...there's a serious problem there.
I saw a comment on someone else's blog recently that claimed Shego is "minor-coded" and a friend and I were just...astonished at this claim. she is 100% NOT and it is very much the opposite in fact, and we want that person to bring up their proofs because...no. the show plainly and repeatedly shows Shego as an ADULT. personally I think mid-late twenties based on canon and real-world evidence, and I've made many posts about that but I'll be posting about it again in the near future.
all in all... I still say. "don't like, don't read." if you feel like you need to go on a crusade to destroy another person's ship, leave me out of it. let everyone ship their ships in peace. they're gonna ship it whether anyone likes it or not, so please just let fandom be peaceful.
that's one of the things I love about the drakgo fandom... we all have different opinions about the age gap, about when they get together, about whether they remain evil or turn good... yes there is lots of headcanon crossover but there's also massive headcanon divergence. and yet we all exist peacefully and happily together. and if we don't like, we don't read. plain and simple.
so once again, for the umpteenth time... let people ship their ships in peace. don't get angry if someone else doesn't ship your ship. just ship and let ship and DNI if it bothers you, and don't be a troll.
