There's some dude (derogatory) on FB who is PISSED people are pricing their farm fresh eggs at $2 and $3 a dozen instead of $4+, saying it's "disrespectful" and "undignified" and "I'm trying to feed my kids" like Sir, you are on a Facebook group page bitching about your neighbors egg prices because your pet chickens aren't earning you a living wage and you think it's your neighbors' fault, you do not have a leg to stand on here wrt dignity.

Also half the answers are like "I give them to friends and family free" or "I donate them to food banks" or "I'm making them affordable to folks who might not otherwise be able to get them now that they're so expensive in the store" and "if you think you're going to turn a profit keeping backyard chickens you have been wildly misled" and so on, and so forth, and I'm so living for it.

and I can tell you right now, he did NOT like my answer of "if you're trying to feed your kids, I hear eggs are edible."

hope this doesn't get taken in bad faith but the whole "of course imark feels nothing for gemma because that's what he's created to do" kind of misses the mark for me (no pun intended)... i get what it means but also it's just... untrue?

not even talking about how imark feels about ms casey... but are we forgetting he sculpted the tree gemma crashed into out of clay in the wellness session? the way he says "it's a nice name, gemma" in the s1 finale? when he sees the wedding photo and there's tears in his eyes? during the ball game in s2 when he tries to think of something about him and the wedding photo flashes in his mind? the fact that every day he stares into her soul and feels stuff? he does feel for gemma, whether or not it's romantic is a different conversation in my opinion... i just think distilling him down to being created to not feel anything for gemma is just narratively false and also kind of a disservice to who imark is as a character. it's why in the s2 finale, he looks back at gemma 3 times and there's clear conflict on his face. i think if he'd just turned and walked away it would fit the not feeling for gemma sentiment better. but it's intentional that he stands there for quite some time before making the decision, and that's why it's heartbreaking when he does choose his own existence over whatever feelings he might have her.

A new sculpture! Finally... All the GOOD things he could do with this stone. I have to remember that Mugear didn't start out the villain. He wanted to save a place he loved, that was dying. But the costs got higher and higher, and more acceptable, the more he inured himself to the idea of them. He got so wrapped up in the idea of the saving that he forgot the people he was saving for. Curious that in the wake of Süleiman's first campaign, both Hürrem and Hatice are scared of forever losing the people they've come to love and have latched onto in order to keep going and find new meaning for themselves after their seemingly dealbreaking past and recent losses, all the while Hafsa reveals her intention to marry both of them off all in the same episode, thus reinforcing the alienation they would feel in Süleiman and Ibrahim's absences and threatening to fully cement it, cutting them off from their actual loves and bringing misery to them both.

the worst part is i can't even say he's wrong. they certainly did figure out how to contribute the city by joining the wrgp. but like. this is one of those things where it literally does not make sense. this is insane levels of logic. I've recently decided to brush up on my long-forgotten writing skills, but even all the storytelling knowledge I'd been passively accumulating throughout the years couldn't make it any easier to put the words on proverbial paper.

Aghghggh turns out to get better at something, you have to actually do it. Turns out the only way out is through. Unbelievable.

Anyway, speaking of Zukka--

Deep red flush crept up both their cheeks and necks and ears, and after a minute of awkward silence they snickered again, not being able to hold it together. Zuko'd forgotten Toph could normally hear their heartbeats, let alone any louder noises happening almost right behind the wall. He couldn't see her but whispered apologies in her direction anyway, face ready to burst, as Sokka was giggling silently at the side, trying not to wake up the others. Once they'd stopped and caught their breaths, Zuko came closer, still smiling, and traced the outline of Sokka's hot red cheek, planting a quick peck on his lips and making his flush stay and eyes flutter closed. The sight of that made Zuko's guts twist into a tight knot. "The night is lovely," Sokka said, looking only into his eyes. "Wanna stay outside a while?" And Zuko smiled and pressed another, longer kiss to his lips in response.

A fun thing you don't know until you have reason to be actually getting quotes is that furniture for public/high-use/corporate (or public-ish) spaces is heckin expensive

presumably because these things need to stand up to tons of use by people over and over and over, but like

I've spent the day researching and requesting quotes for rolling whiteboards and the prices I've seen from companies I'd probably trust are so far a minimum of $800 for a single whiteboard roughly the height of an average 8-year-old.
