It's 4am and I can't get this out of my head

Tried to tip a tumblr blog at 1am and it was such a suspicious transaction it immediately put a full fraud freeze on my account

Fortunately, banks no longer just ask 'did you make that transaction' they want to make sure you weren't scammed into making that transaction and 5mins after their call will give away all your money anyway.

This is an honest to goodness life saving movement and I cannot be happier banks are adopting it

Unfortunately, it meant I had to have the most embarrassing financial call of my life

Me: no I was just on tumblr...on purpose

Me: oh no they just had a funny story, which happened to be about money and I thought, "wouldn't it be funny if I tipped them"

i think also wrt to gazan fundraisers, some people have a really fantastical view of how much good a registered ngo is able to do. like if their charity donations were flowing directly to desperate people then maybe it would make sense to donate to those orgs to the exclusion of individual fundraisers. but we've known for months now how difficult it is to get aid actually through to gaza, so it is kind of a feel-good fantasy to think "well if i donate to a registered charity instead of an individual, that's a better use of that money" like is it? or is it now money that's sitting with an organisation that can't send nearly enough trucks across the border and doesn't evacuate people? if you're just assuming prima facie that being an official registered ngo makes it morally or logistically better then idk what to tell you, i think that's unwise

aziraphale and crowley are so bad at convincing anyone that they don't know where gabriel is

it's funny because even when crowley actually didn't know what was going on he still somehow gave off vibes as though he did

and it's not just that the vibes! strategically they suck at it!

at any point they could have actually let the angels or demons search the bookshop top to tip, with "Jim" standing there waving and offering snacks the entire time, and they would have actually not found anything and been forced to look elsewhere

but it never occurs to them to actually do that because THEY know that they know where gabriel is, so they just panic and fixate on keeping all the angels and demons away as much as possible, which makes it really obvious that they know something they're not sharing with the class

how are you both so bad at this?!

Kinda wish that people would be giving the same kind of criticism and scrutiny to Internet Historian that they have been giving to James Somerton. IH is a much bigger and more well known channel and his cave video got a lot more attention. Like I know his video got taken down, and he's only done this to one video (that we know of) but he employed the same sort devious tactics to try and hide his plagiarism, so would be nice to see the same sort of outrage for him too.
