when i say “if you’re going to repost someone else’s gifs you should credit them” i’m trying to be very nice. what i really mean is “if you’re going to insist on taking someone else’s work and rebranding it for your own original post the absolute LEAST you could do is provide credit to the source. it’s rude to put so much effort into taking engagement away from the creator for your own gain. ESPECIALLY if your post could EASILY be formatted as a reblog of the original post. when you RE-POST someone else’s gif, tumblr’s gif search function reroutes the SOURCE of the gif to YOUR post. if you’re going to take the time to take my gif and write your own whole post about it, don’t stop short of making the effort to utilize the built in system that properly credits and sources the gif that’s the basis of your post

hello cc folks does anyone else get like deeply uncomfortable and upset when modern/post-2021 entertainment media (tv shows, youtube vids, music, etc.) mentions/talks about covid because it is never ever ever covid conscious/competent. covid needs to be talked about so much more but i have rarely seen it done in a way that doesn't make me literally want to throw up

Started watching 3BSkyen’s helluva reaction and while I don’t agree with certain things, he called the show sincere and self-indulgent and honestly.. that is accurate and also such a big reason to why I love it so much. (He also mentioned the thing about Marvel that I’ve mentioned before)

Honestly I can appreciate most things if you can just tell that the creator loves their product. You feel that with helluva. The creators are doing a show THEY want to do and are inviting you to witness it. It’s ultimately for them but it also resonates with people like them. I think that’s a big reason as to why I don’t mind the tonal whiplash or whatever else people like to point out makes the show lesser. Cus to me it’s just proof of them being able to do whatever they want. This show is free as fuck.. they are able to tell the story however they want to and I’m just enjoying the ride and seeing what they can come up with.

Like…I have been a movie fan for such a loong time. Especially animation. Me and my father share this hobby and we’ve both gotten very good at predicting what’ll happen just cus of pattern recognition. This makes helluva so exciting for me, cus they don’t have to follow the mold. They don’t have to use the same established tools as anyone else and therefor… I’ve never been fully sure about what they’re gonna do. Which is also why I’m perfectly fine with their use of clichés. Cus, ye sure they’re overused in general BUT they’re not usually used in this setting.

So I’m perfectly content with the classic romantic tropes and ”cringiness” because who wouldve put that in a gorey, sexually deviant show about demons in hell? Starring a gay couple too???

I don’t care what they could’ve done, I’m really only interested in what they will do. I want to know THEIR vision. I wanna know THEIR way of doing it. Nothing they’ve done has hindered me in following the story or getting to know the characters. I honestly feel like I know them really really well, so I’m really really good.

I don’t agree with people who say Mike is gay because of the way he looks at will 😭 now trust me, I’m a byler to my bones and I think there’s SO much evidence as to why it’s canon.. BUT, making those posts that are like “mike isn’t gay- UH SURE BUDDY *gif of mike smiling at will*” is just not good evidence. In fact I think it drives the mileven idea that bylers can’t let two guys be friends, which of course isn’t true, but in this instance you’re basically just giving them amo atp 😭 it gives the same vibes as “DONT SMILE AT ME BRO THATS GAY” yk? Obviously I don’t want to generalise, like times where Mike looks at Wills lips or sum cus that’s just objectively funny 😭 but yeah idk hope this made sense

why are people still trying to white knight for erik like he wasn't the one who said "an anonymous person respectfully told me their honest feelings and gave me the kick in the ass i needed to be more communicative with patrons and also address the bad work habits i have." like i rly don't understand how you guys see it as a bad thing that a) someone felt comfortable enough to voice their concerns directly with a creator, b) said creator took their criticisms in stride rather than getting defensive, and c) is (hopefully) going to edit his work load to be more manageable so he isn't so stressed out and anxious all the time.

where is the downside in this? i feel like i'm going insane reading some of these responses. don't you want erik to feel comfortable telling us things instead of disappearing for a week? don't you want him to enjoy creating without feeling rushed for time or like he's going to disappoint someone for having to push something back? why are people so pissed off about this, it's not like someone left a bomb on his doorstep
