sometimes, just when i think i've gotten over gojo's conclusion, his line "haven't we had enough of gojo satoru" comes back to me. yes, it's true that gojo held the highest hopes and trust in his students; but this line also showed us that a part of him believed his time should be over. yet, this mindset wasn't something he'd had since the beginning of the story.
pre-shibuya, he would never have thought about bowing out. he lived every day fighting to make his dream a reality, training his students and picking fights with gakuranji and the higher-ups. he would've been working on how to save yuuji from execution permanently, just like he did with yuuta. he kept himself so busy, and he could've been content to keep doing that (maybe never truly satisfied without his one and only, but still).
i think about how it wasn't that he'd always already made his peace with bowing out from the start, but he turned to that way of thinking over the course of the story, and it kills me a little inside. because that wasn't character growth. it was yuuji falling into the cog mentality, only gojo didn't get to grow past this, because he isn't the main character of this particular story :(

building keyboards! l.hs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing! lee heeseung x fem!reader
synopsis! in which you want to celebrate your one year anniversary with your boyfriend
genre! established relationship, fluff
word count! 1.2k
author’s note! i have been cursed by a keyboard obsession since before i even got into enhypen, so ofc i had to write something short and cute with heeseung
currently playing . . . highway 1009 by enhypen !
Tumblr media
You met Heeseung entirely by chance. The two of you moved in completely different social circles, yet you somehow managed to find each other when it mattered the most. He was the popular guy on campus, whereas you were just a girl. A student trying to survive university life, juggling studying and a part-time job to keep yourself afloat.
The first time you met Heeseung was in the summer. After you managed to get through freshman year without failing a single class, you enjoyed your time off in a tech store, looking over different kinds of mechanical keyboards and computer components. You must’ve looked like an employee because Heeseung chose to approach you specifically to ask you a question about the new Keychron keyboards. And whilst you were not working at the store, you did know enough about the best, pretty affordable keyboards on the market. Including the new Keychrons. So you indulged him rather than telling him that you were not, in fact, working there.
Unbeknownst to you (he shared that later into your relationship), Heeseung continued going to the tech store during the summer in hopes of encountering you again, which was how he came to the conclusions that 1) you were truly not working there, and 2) he should’ve asked for your number.
It was only his luck that in the following winter semester, he happened to be a TA of one of the computer language classes you signed up for in your second year. He did not miss his chance to get to know you then, and the first time he asked you out was after the winter semester, when he was no longer the TA in your class.
It’s been a year since the two of you officially became boyfriend and girlfriend, and you got the most brilliant idea for how to celebrate your one year anniversary. It cost quite a good deal of money, but you knew it would be worth it in the end.
When you knocked on the door of Heeseung’s dorm room with two large plastic bags in hand, you knew he wasn’t home. However, at least one of his dorm mates should be, which was proven to you when Jay opened the door.
He looked at you with furrowed brows, and before he could tell you that Heeseung wasn’t there, you stopped him with: “I know, he’s not here. That’s the point.”
You didn’t even wait for the man to invite you inside. Rather, you made your way past him, taking your shoes off and heading toward the living room area to place everything on the dining table they had.
“What exactly are you doing, Y/N?” Jay asked, standing in the hallway like a father of three children with his hands on his hips.
“Preparing a surprise for Hee,” you replied simply, unpacking your boxes with mechanical switches, keycaps, keyboard cases, brushes, lube (for the switches), foam, tape, switch and keycap pullers and many other items necessary for building and modding your own keyboard. Since Keychrons were Heeseung’s favourite, you mainly went for components of that brand, but you were personally a fan of Akko keyboards, so you sneaked in a few switches from them for more options, too.
“Are you planning to build keyboards with him?”
You hummed with a nod of agreement, grinning.
“What do you think?” You turn to Jay once you have everything set up on the table.
“That Heeseung’s a lucky bastard,” Jay murmured under his breath, and you giggled.
“So it’s good, right?”
“Duh.” Jay shook his head, staring at everything you prepared. “Are you trying to one-up him? ‘Cause I don’t think he can come up with anything better than this.”
You shrugged, smiling. “I don’t really care. Seeing him smile is all I need.”
Jay rubbed his face. “Lucky bastard,” he repeated again. “I’ll make sure he knows that.”
“You’re too sweet,” you said, checking the time. Heeseung should be home from his class in about fifteen minutes. You knew only because he had texted you the approximate time when he would get home after you told him you had a surprise for him.
“So sweet that I’m gonna get lost and leave you two here alone.” He nodded, going to his room to grab some things. “Just text me whenever you guys are done, so I know I can come home.”
“Sure, sure, will do,” you mutter while eyeing your work. Not that spreading miscellaneous keyboard components was hard work, but you were already fighting the urge to start building a keyboard without Heeseung here.
After Jay left, you were alone in the dorm room for about three seconds. Heeseung burst into the dorm room with his backpack hanging over one shoulder, eyes already searching for you since he probably ran into Jay on his way here.
You smiled, watching him drop everything on the floor just to approach you.
“Surprise!” you exclaimed, pointing at the messy table.
Heeseung blinked at you, glancing between the keyboards and you in confusion. “What—”
“I have everything! And for modding, I have lube and foam and tape! Isn’t it awesome?” you asked, picking up each item you named.
Heeseung laughed at how innocently you said that despite its many possible meanings. Running a hand through his hair, he felt a swelling in his heart at the sight of your excited form over building keyboards. It was an interest you both shared, and he was eternally grateful for finding you over it every day.
“You know—” he grinned, picking up the lube— “when you said you had a surprise for me, I didn’t think the only thing I’d be lubing today would be keyboard switches.”
You giggled, shrugging. “But you like it anyway, right?”
“I love it,” Heeseung said, grinning. “I love you,” he added, sitting down next to you at the table. “That’s what matters the most, right?”
Leaning toward you, he cupped your chin and connected your foreheads. You couldn’t stop smiling as your heart drummed in your ears, your whole body seeping with love for the man in front of you.
“I love you, too,” you replied, connecting your lips in a brief kiss. “But can we start with building our keyboards? I want to make mine sound creamy… or should I go for thocky? I can’t decide.”
Heeseung chuckled, shaking his head. “I hope you know I don’t have much space in my room anymore.”
“That’s a lie and we both know it.” You looked at him, narrowing your eyes. “Unless being able to play Twister in your room is a requirement.”
Heeseung rolled his eyes. “For the two of us? Might as well be.” He wiggled his eyebrows at you, and you lightly slapped his shoulders, your cheeks heating up.
“Shut up,” you mumbled.
Heeseung giggled, capturing your lips in another, longer and much sweeter kiss.
“Thank you for all of this, though,” he said after, pointing at the setup. “My surprise suddenly seems lame.”
“What is it?” You pouted, curiosity taking over you.
“I’d rather not say right now.” Heeseung shook his head. “Maybe you’ll find out later.”
“That’s so mean.”

DR RATIO ANALYSIS: PART 2, ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
SPOILERS FOR 2.1 CONTENT.
Now, you might be saying - "Aurae, you already did one, why do you need a second?" And my answer is, "LORD, I FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT HOW HIS DEFINITION OF 'IDIOT' IS DIFFERENT. AND ALSO HE DOES NOT HATE AVENTURINE NOR DOES HE THINK AVENTURINE IS STUPID." Once again, here is my disclaimer - although I have been researching psychology for a solid six years, I am NOT a professional. (I will be, one day. Just you wait, just youuuu wait-) So understand that everything I say has been analyzed with personal judgement, with my own conclusions, come to with logic and my personal interpretation. This is just what I have concluded, and you are always free to disagree.
This is my legacy. To be an analyzer. So let's go.
Okay, now that my disclaimer is over, let's take off Ratio's plaster head and chuck it into the sea, and see - what does he mean by 'idiot'?
This will be much shorter than my last, so don't worry - I will not be flashbanging you with another 4k words. This is more like a follow up, than anything else, because there's a few things I wish to touch on.
Dr. Ratio doesn't hate idiots in the sense that he hates people that have 'low IQ' or are 'stupid' in terms of being 'slow to understand'. I definitely touched on this in my last analysis, but he hates people who take their education for granted and don't go places with the gifts that they've been given. He hates "idiots" - "narrow minded" people who have the capabilities to do more and perceive more than they choose to do. People who deliberately look away or take what they know and what they could do for granted. He wants to open people's eyes and allow them to see life from multiple different angles and he believes that everyone should have a chance to learn - with the whole "knowledge for everyone" thing he's got rolling.
He wears a plaster head around people he doesn't seem to know too well in order to think more, or so that he doesn't have to see the faces of the people he dislikes. Pretty good roast. However, he does NOT wear that plaster head around Aventurine. Let's listen to the doctor's judgement - Aventurine is far from stupid. Although he likes to chalk up a lot of the things he does to his own luck, he is an INCREDIBLY capable individual who's managed to get this far because of his own form of genius. He's a man who relies on chance and good fortune, yes, but his charm, his way of scheming, and the way that he's good with people? That's skill. A talent he doesn't take for granted. Dr. Ratio respects him for this - because despite the fact that he has no proper education, he has his eyes wide open to the world and doesn't take shit for granted. He learns what he can in order to survive and he does it fucking well - Aventurine is a very smart man. He's observant, quick on his feet, and great at going with the flow and thinking in the moment.
Aventio aside, I actually believe that Dr. Ratio would be a really good teacher to those who struggle. He's patient where it's needed to be, even if he's got a quick temper, and I believe in his pursuit for knowledge he would do his best to go out of his way to find strategies that would work for their individuals. We're all unique, and he's aware of this - and because he wants to allow people to think for themselves, whatever helps the individual works. Depression? He's got a psych degree, I'm sure bro could give you some strategies. Autism? He has a touch of the 'tism himself. ADHD, and not feeling organized? Bro will help you. It's canon that he's a great fucking teacher - those who finish his classes go on to become successful people who are intelligent and critical thinkers. Round of applause for Ratio, the man that kins my father. He's shit at emotions, but great at knowledge.
Also, on that note, I believe that he would most likely hate parents that push thier "gifted" students to the limit without any compassion for the person that they really are. He's most definitely got some of that academic trauma so I believe that bro holds a secret disdain for parents who just use their children to gain more recgonition. Well, not so secret. He'd cuss them out. (Ratio please cuss out the horrible parents.)
Dr. Ratio, the Teacher ever. (Hey, maybe he'd get along with Kunikida...)
Also, I am definitely planning on making a fic where he teaches Aventurine Latin. As long as you're eager to learn and willing to look past the chalk being thrown, he's got a place for you.
Thanks for coming to my tedtalk. I did not read this through, so this is not edited. Take my unedited rambles.

I think I'm able to perhaps put a few words to why I really dislike that the Ahsoka show had her choose to come to the conclusion that Anakin was GOOD, that he was a good person and good teacher to her, rather than having her refuse to forgive him and just having to let go of him entirely.
Ahsoka is a character who has been, for her ENTIRE RUN on Star Wars, defined by Anakin and her relationship to him. She's never been able to escape that. She was created as an explanation for why Anakin "matured" over the three year gap between AOTC and ROTS, but her lack of existence in the films means she can have no greater impact on Anakin than that. She is wholly irrelevant to his character but she does not EXIST without him. In Rebels, she is only in one season where all of her appearances are fixated on her discovery of Anakin's betrayal and how that impacts her, leading up to their final confrontation where she appears to die fighting him. She comes back only so her relationship with Anakin can be used to help Ezra let go of Kanan. In TOTJ, she has an entire episode dedicated to explaining that the only reason she survived Order 66 was because of some kind of special training Anakin gave her that made her stronger, better, faster than any other Jedi. In The Mandalorian, her appearance was full of subtext about her trauma regarding Anakin and the way she reacts to other Jedi as a result of that. In The Book of Boba Fett appearance, that subtext is still there, primarily in her conversation with Luke where she even tells him how much he reminds her of Anakin. Which leaves us with the Ahsoka show itself and how it REVOLVES around that relationship, from Sabine being turned into Anakin 2.0 to everything in episode 5 to Ahsoka claiming she'll support Sabine in everything because this is what Anakin did for her to Anakin literally showing up in ghost form to Thrawn predicting everything Ahsoka will do because he has some familiarity with Anakin.
Ahsoka CANNOT escape this relationship, she cannot move out from this particular shadow and become her own person because her character seems to ONLY EXIST to be "Anakin's student." She can almost literally not stand on her own at this point. If her story doesn't revolve around Anakin in some way, it doesn't seem to really exist (please keep in mind here that I am mostly looking at HIGH CANON appearances for this because that's what I am familiar with; I'm sure that some comics have probably managed to move away from her relationship to Anakin a little bit sometimes but I haven't read any of them so they're not being counted in this analysis, especially since I don't think they're really impacting her higher canon characterization anyway).
It's even just visible in how other characters perceive her. She is constantly being COMPARED to Anakin, we keep hearing how like Anakin she is. The only time I can think of that she is compared to anyone OTHER than Anakin is when Trace and Rafa tell her that she acts like a Jedi even if she isn't currently calling herself one (bless their SOULS for this moment, they deserved so much better than the hate they got and one single appearance on fucking TBB). We never hear anyone say she reminds them of Obi-Wan, or Yoda, or Plo Koon. It's ALWAYS Anakin even though she's known Yoda and Plo Koon longer and she seems to spend almost as much time with Obi-Wan as she does Anakin.
By having Ahsoka decide to deal with her feelings about Anakin by just... setting aside all the bad shit he did and focusing ONLY on the good moments that he had and letting that define him, it makes it nearly impossible to separate her from him. If he's good, then it's a GOOD thing to compare her to him. If he's good, then his influence on her HAS to have been a good one. For me, it ruins ANY nuance that could have come from going the opposite direction and recognizing that while he had some good moments, he was in fact an overall bad person who was a terrible teacher to her. He betrayed her, he tried to kill her (and only failed because she was saved by someone else), he abandoned her. I don't care WHAT he did before this, this automatically makes him a BAD TEACHER.
And recognizing that Anakin was a bad teacher would force Ahsoka to look at HERSELF more critically, too, to recognize the places where she has made the same mistakes perhaps, where she's started leading herself down a similar path to his, and then choosing to NOT BE LIKE HIM. Anakin should be (like he is with Luke) the personification of her own darkness. Palpatine represented Anakin's greatest demons and personifications, Anakin can represent something similar for Ahsoka. He is an indisputable part of her now, but she doesn't HAVE to become him, she doesn't have to let that CONTROL her. And by making that choice, she frees herself from being defined by him for the rest of her life.
But now, the narrative has bound Ahsoka to Anakin forever. She'll never be anything more than Anakin's student because this has become what defines her as a person and a character. And it just... it sucks. Ahsoka deserved better than that.

ultimately tbosas is an inversion of thg, and our main three characters in each are inversions of the main three counterparts. snow is an inverted katniss; lucy gray is an inverted peeta; sejanus is an inverted gale.
snow and katniss are both constantly aware of their self as it relates to how they are being perceived. they’re both hyper aware of the unspoken rules of society that dictate how they must live their lives. but while snow uses his knowledge to manipulate others for personal political gain within the rules of that society, katniss uses her knowledge to highlight the injustice of the rules themselves. snow would see a friend killed before he would allow himself to be implicated in a crime; katniss would rather kill herself than lose the boy she’s grown to care for in the arena. snow would kill the girl he loves to avoid the potential for political backlash; katniss cannot even perform the most simple of her political duties until she is reunited the boy she loves. they are mirrors — they show us that we all have the potential for greatness in us, the decision we make is whether we use our awareness of the roles we play in society for self-serving gain or for selfless love and compassion.
lucy gray is the inverted peeta. first, they’re both artists who use their art as a strategy: lucy grays songs and peetas camouflage. but more importantly, they both use their ability to perform and manipulate a crowd in order to help another person succeed — to help another person survive the games. peeta confesses his love for katniss in order to draw the audiences attention as a way to help her win; lucy gray performs her songs to the crowd as a way to help snow win. for both of them, it’s a fairly selfless act — they do it because they believe in the inherent goodness in humanity, because they love another person. only where lucy gray believes snow is compassionate and good, he lets her down. peeta believes the same about katniss, and she proves him right.
and sejanus is an inverted gale. they both believe in the injustice of the regime, and neither one of them can mask their disgust for the society that forces them to live this way. sejanus cannot mask his feelings about the capitol students; gale cannot hide his frustration with madge. but where sejanus cannot let himself lose sight of the human cost of it all, and that is ultimately what leads to his undoing, it is the exact opposite that undoes gale. the minute gale loses sight of the fact that he is capable of perpetuating the same horrors he claims to speak out against, he loses himself. and thus he ends the trilogy where sejanus begins: in district 2.
all six characters prove the series’ argument. tbosas shows us the other side of everything we’re shown in thg and comes to the exact same conclusion: we all have our own histories, our own baggage, our own traumas, and they all inform how we engage with our society and how we identify and interact with the injustices that are built into our systems. but we all have a choice: and that choice comes down to whether or not we use the skills we learn from our unique histories for self interest, for violence and revenge and war, or whether we use them for compassion, for love, for understanding.
it’s all the same argument; it’s all the same story.

eiffel and minkowski are often perceived (either by the other characters of the podcast or its audience, but mostly by each other) as the lazy slacker who sucks at his job and the competent go-getter who’s the best at what she does, and yet neither of these things are true. i think one of my favorites of their parallels is they are both exceptionally good at what they do, and yet they both constantly suffer from doubts about their own abilities. they just have completely different ways of going about this insecurity, and that’s what creates this stigma about them.
eiffel has proven time and time again that he absolutely knows what he’s doing in his field. He’s extremely protective over his equipment, he knows exactly what to do when it doesn’t work ninety nine percent of the time, the man made two way radios from old audio recorders, for christ’s sake, not to mention the way he was able to figure out how to survive for months in the middle of deep space completely by himself. but one of his most fatal flaws is that he doesn’t believe he knows what he’s doing. his self hatred and insecurity run so deep that the moment he believes he’s not cut out for something, he stops trying entirely. he sees people like minkowski doing such a good job in their position, that when people like that tell him he’s incapable of doing the same, he believes it, because he never believed in himself, anyway. i think the most obvious example of this is after the season one finale, when he learns about the decima project. the minute he learns that being an officer of communications wasn’t his only purpose on that mission, he comes to the conclusion that he doesn’t serve that purpose at all. he resolves that he was simply an “experimental meatbag”, chosen for the mission because he had absolutely nothing else going for him. he’s so quick to dismiss his worth and his capabilities, and so he leans into this persona of a good for nothing procrastinator to avoid letting his peers down by never letting them form expectations of him in the first place. of course, he isn’t perfect, he is a bit of a procrastinator and a scatterbrain, but that’s far from all he is.
minkowski on the other hand, she’s constantly praised for all of her achievements and hard work, be it by goddard, by her students, her superiors, lovelace, and especially eiffel in the later seasons. she’s seen as strong, and resilient, and an excellent leader. but the thing is, she also constantly doubts her own ability. this can also be seen during the season one finale, where she apologizes to eiffel because she describes hera’s deactivation and hilbert’s mutiny as her own fault, because she wasn’t a good enough commander to prevent it. but the thing about her is when she starts to doubt her capability, she works overtime to try and prove herself and anyone else who may doubt her wrong, which is also unhealthy! it happens with the plant monster, when she continuously risks her own life just to prove to herself that she can have the slightest bit of control over a situation. it happens during pan-pan, where she attempts to keep the stress fractures in the station a secret and handle them on her own because she wants to be able to protect the lives and morale of her crew the way a “good commander” should! instead of giving up and saving herself the disappointment if ever she should fail, she does the complete opposite, working herself to the bone and obsessing over every detail to make sure she doesn’t fail, no matter what it takes.
now here’s the kicker— after the events of desperate times / desperate measures, eiffel and minkowski completely swap coping mechanisms. when lovelace comes to, minkowski almost immediately asks her to assume the position of commander in her place, because she thinks that the loss of lives means that she completely failed her objective and isn’t fit for the role. her stepping down is essentially giving up in her eyes, because why hold such an important position if you’re no good at it? meanwhile, in episode fifty two, after eiffel gets called out on his, while without malicious intent, inconsiderate and distasteful behavior, he completely withdraws from the rest of the crew in order to work extremely hard on his own tasks, ultimately risking his and the rest of the crew’s life in order to prove he can be useful. sounds familiar, right?
but the thing is, they’ve each already spent so much time reverting to their original way of coping, that attempting the other’s method is immediately clocked as simply being concerning and out of character, rather than establishing them as the opposite archetype of being capable or not. lovelace expects minkowski to always resort to overachieving, but not because its a way to disprove her insecurity, but because it’s just “who she is”. so when she does the opposite, that’s when she realizes something is wrong, and resorts to comforting minkowski instead of simply letting her do what she’s elected to do. hera expects eiffel to laugh off any mistake he makes and go back to goofing off— not because it’s his way of avoiding disappointment from those he cares about, but because it’s just “who he is”. so when he does the opposite, focusing solely and intently on his duties where he was so comfortable neglecting them before, she realizes something is wrong. and when he explains to the rest of the crew that his actions are only to “help the only way he still can”, they realize something is wrong, and choose to comfort him rather than simply rolling their eyes and letting eiffel be eiffel.
it is. so incredibly late at night so i don’t know if this makes the sense i want it to make but i just. cannot get enough of how much they compliment and reflect each other. they seem to have nothing in common on the surface, but they fit together so well in terms of how they operate as people and i’m obsessed with it

I just read your Yandere vampire OM brothers and I was wondering what about yan vampire Lucifer and MC who has a blood clotting problem like they cut their hand or whatever and the blood keeps pouring nothing you dramatic bit still like Woah u good??? (don't feel forced to do this btw, also I love ur writing!!!)
hey anon!! I sorry for being this late to your request, I hope my writing is a fine apology for that.
Haemophilia is one such genetic disorder where the person's blood doesn't clot easily. Although it is a reccessive gene, you were born with one. It did not pose much threat to you due to the advances in medical treatment keeping you alive for so long, so you never worried too much about it.
You did worry about it when you were asked to come to Devildorm for one year. "One whole year?? How am I supposed to survive there!?" You somehow managed to purchase almost months and months of medicines in your little suitcase, but ofc you were bound to run out of supplies in the far future.
Today was one such day. You counted the leafs of medicines left, and all of them were empty. You were being reckless by not keeping an eye on the medicine, and now you have none. Worried, you were trying not to panic in your small cozy room. After taking deep breaths, you came to a conclusion that asking Lucifer to help in this situation would be the best. With that, you went to the kitchen to fulfill Beel's craving of eating your handmade food.
The pot boiling with water and the sound of you cutting the vegetables filled the kitchen. "You called for me? Sorry I was busy with some student council work" you turn your head towards the source of the sound, a soft smile conquring your lips as you meet your eyes with him. He, with a click in his step and his long, black clock hanging from his broad shoulders came up to you and engulfed you in a hug. " how have you been MC?" he spoke in your ear as you continued your chopping. "I am well Lucifer, and yes I did call for you. I need to go back to the human world."
"But why?"
"Because I need to- ouch!"
You took your eyes off of the food to look at Lucifer, which was a bad idea because you now have a cut on your finger from moving the knife wrong. It hurt a bit, but to Lucifer, it seemed as if you have lost half of your body's blood.
"How could you be so careless!? Show me your finger" You could see that his eyes have started to dilate, his fangs have started to appear. Yet he is not even thinking about drinking blood. Instead his eyes, althought appearing to be bloodlustly, are actually filled with concern.
"Did you eat your medicines??"
"Ah, about that...." you told him about not having them, and he sighed. "Well wait here, I have some with me. Don't move from your place and stop cooking" Before he left the kitchen he spoke some words and created magic that collected the blood dripping from your hand. Now you had a small bubble of blood floating in the air that was oozing out.
Lucifer came back within two minutes and handed you the medicine. " Thank you so much Luci, but what will you do with this bubble of blood?" He just gives you a knowing look and brings his tongue near the bubble. You blush slightly as he savours the exotic taste of your blood, the medicine acting fast and stopping the bleeding.
" Why are you blushing MC? Your blood is only for me to taste. Now sit down, grab a dessert from the fridge, and let me finish dinner"
PS: anon you did not mention if Lucifer and MC are in an established relationship or not so I tried to write it in a way that you can insert a romantic/platonic relation between them^^ and also thank you for supporting my writing I appreciate it^^

official declaration of insanity. the community brainworms have eaten what’s left of my festering, rotten mind so there’s only one solution…..
BULLWORTH PAINTBALL HCS
allow me to set the scene: It’s early morning, the sun rises high over the Bullworth Academy campus. But no birds sing, no nerds have their books slapped out of their hands. The halls are silent, pensive, and covered in paint…. Waiting for a lucky winner... A victor that will receive a pass on every single class for the whole semester. Where do each clique find themselves?
PREPS
Holed up and hiding, they wouldn’t dare to step outside of Harrington house for fear of getting low-quality synthetic paint on their clothes. They keep to the higher levels of Harrington house and avoid the bottom floors like the plague. They hole up on the second or third floors, anticipating barrage attacks on the bottom floors. The balconies surrounding the greenhouse are outfitted with high quality paintball guns and are transformed into sniper towers, any unsuspecting passersby should duck and cover, although their aim is mostly to eradicate all of the greasers, they will shoot on sight. And they are well trained.
BULLIES
Ground fighters, unorganised and violent. They move in loose packs and work to disorient and isolate other students. Then they swoop in and kill them off. It seems to work moderately well until people start using the tactic on them. Loss of some smaller members force them to adopt gorilla tactics. Yes you read that right, GOrilla, not GEURilla. Their gorilla is, of course, Russell. They send him in first, brandishing a portrait of a Bullworth founder, a trash can lid or a desk as a shield and lets him clear the area for a barrage. Safe to say their disorganisation isn’t a winning strategy.
NERDS
Oh they’ve been REEEADY for this for a long long time. They’re well equipped. They have all their gear and SOME idea. They keep strapped constantly, have scout groups and keep watch over the observatory, their spud gun now an automated paint cannon, and their artillery expanded with paint grenades designed by Bucky. Earnest is back in his little apocalypse outfit, they’re acting like they’re in 28 days later, or more appropriately based on how stupidly they first acted when the war broke loose, Shaun of The Dead. They’re quick to die if they get separated but as a group they make a mean, if slightly fragile militia.
JOCKS
Pack animals. Moreso than the Bullies. They stay together as one big clump for as long as possible, they’re team players, and washing each others balls in the locker room pays off. They survive as a unit longer than any other cliques and only fall to infighting when the fighting dies down and they get to talking as they sleep in shifts on the gym floor. Talks of which team is going to win the superbowl lead to arguments, and then to all of the Jocks’ muscle out of the game and absolutely covered in paint. The weaker ones survive as long as they can by looting Nerds but eventually succumb to the power of the Preps’ snipers.
GREASERS
Surrounded on all fronts, the greasers already don’t have the best chance of surviving. The best they can do is hold down the fort in the auto shop and try to scope out when it’s safe to venture out. The answer, they find out pretty quickly, is never. Vance is sent out early as a negotiator, and some very nice eye candy for the weaker preps. He’s taken out in a flurry of paintballs almost as soon as he steps out of the auto shop. Johnny and Lola are the next to go when an argument reaches its conclusion in a hail of paint bullets, a grieving peanut takes himself out to join them. They fall victim to a Jock raid and get taken out for good.
NON CLIQUES
Dazed, confused and basically begging for their lives they try and group up with other cliques only to get rejected, or worse, shot. Constantinos is one of the first to go, his constant whining that he should be leader makes Ivan shoot him. There’s no real hierarchy, and no solid base for them. They’re looters, nomads and cannon fodder.
PREFECTS
You can’t stop these boys from having fun! Not only are they playing, they’re Crabblesnitch’s eyes on the inside. Posted around the school as a sort of armed police, designed to win the game and keep the peace if things get dicey. Their bloodlust ultimately loses them the game, they have too much fun too early so when things get serious, they’re off their A-game and get bested by Jimmy and his bag of tricks.
JIMMY AND THOSE BOYS
Gary probably presented the idea to Crabblesnitch, and is still the most unprepared. He hides in his dorm for a good while, until he knows there’s few survivors, then he goes out guns blazing, Rambo style and likely gets taken out. Safe to say he’s not a great shot. Petey is bait, good bait. He’s an agile little guy, so he can dart out of harms way until the end, when he valiantly takes a bullet for Jimmy so he can win and end the chaos. Jimmy, in classic protag style, stops the game at its source by taking out Crabblesnitch.

so at first I thought the JJK finale was buns. And then I was mad. Then I thought about it a bit.
I think a lot of the stuff that Gege included within the final chapter (final few chapters ngl) is CONCEPTUALLY pretty good. Trio and all students surviving? Conclusion for the CG characters? Everyone moving on from Gojo because sorcerers should work together as a community and not rely on the strongest in a flawed system? Yuuji passing on encouragement to a new CG sorcerer to represent the next gen passing on their strength? All great points.
The problem was that it felt too fast paced. We didn't have time to really let the characters breathe and settle into the new world. No emotional conversations between the main trio, not even between Yuuji and Megumi. Just. Right back to it! And my biggest gripe was probably that there didn't really feel like there was a change to the status quo. Megumi's character didn't really feel like it had a proper conclusion, and we definitely should've gotten more from both Nobara and Yuuji about the new world they're in. Just killing the higher ups and putting gakugangi up there doesn't really make that much of a difference imo. And also everything with the foreign militaries? Ofc there was a lot of stuff implied w/ Mei Mei and the NSS clan stuff, and all the new CG sorcerers and etc, but honestly we just needed more.
That's when I realized the real enemy was Shonen Jump all along. Shonen Jump has extremely strict deadlines on the final chapter; meaning that once the final arc starts, the author would have to pick a date to end the manga and stick with it. But remember what happened a few months ago? Gege got sick around the time when the yuutago chapters dropped. He was out for a month. Thats anywhere from 3-5 extra chapters we could've had.
And that... really hurts. I genuinely think even 3 extra chapters could've fixed all the glaring issues with the last few chaps. More room to have emotional conversations, more to talk about the future of Jujutsu society/cursed energy, more change to the status quo, more actually cohesive character conclusions/interactions, even maybe a Gojo acknowledgement (yes ik the point is that the future gen will move on without him but I think it's unrealistic that the students don't look back on him fondly at least). Those extra chapters wouldn't fix everything, ofc, but it would definitely make things feel more complete. It sucks from a readers perspective, because we KNOW Gege can write really well. But I imagine it sucks even more from a writers perspective.
There's a lot of debate on whether or not Gege actually cares about JJK and its characters (especially when it comes to that six eyes freak ykwim), but even if his original ideas were scrapped, I think ANYONE who works on something for upwards of six years will feel some sort of love or care towards that project. I can't imagine what it must feel like to not be able to fully execute your creative vision because of health problems and the shitty cog-wheels of Shonen Jump serialization.
Ofc, I might be reading too much into it. Perhaps his leave of absence had nothing to do with how Gege ended JJK. Maybe this was his plan all along. The more I sit with it, the more okay I feel. We've known for a long time that the JJK ending wasn't going to be perfect. And yeah, we can (respectfully) mourn what we could've had but honestly? I had so much fun. I have never ever been involved in a fandom like this and yeah it sucked like 99% of the time but despite it all I had so much fucking fun. Say all you want about Gege's skills but you can't deny that he is amazing at creating compelling characters, cool power systems and emotionally packed plots. Yuuji, Megumi, Nobara and Maki will all be oh so dear to me forever. Yeah the ending could definitely have been better, but I'm willing to give him grace. If anything, I'm even more excited for his next work.
Anyways, I think that having all these plot holes and "wasted potential" might actually be a good thing in the long run. It can be frustrating, obviously, when you look at the story all on its own, but ngl fandom works best when we can fill in the gaps on our own. I'm looking forwards to seeing what everyone's gonna make from here on out! I definitely have a LOT of things I'd want to write about, maybe even draw ooh.
Incredibly longwinded way of saying: Gege, you aint so bad after all. And yeah, I think I'm pretty happy overall with JJK. Maybe a lil miffed about certain things, but I doubt I would be the person I am today without this godforsaken manga. How amazing is that? :)

I really love your Makoto in V3!AU and have started thinking about it a lot lately.
So, we are shown the audition videos of Kaede, Shuichi, and Kaito for Danganronpa in 6th trial (which are probably another lie from Tsumugi, but.. whatever) and I had a question: if in your AU Makoto survives to the end, what is his video interview like? What is his reaction and that of the rest of the students?
It would be interesting to hear about his pregame version in your AU. Thanks in advance for your reply! (^_^)
Oh, this is a good question. A lot of implications for the broader lore of this AU. My Naeouma posts kind of made it canon that the killing game is a simulation in this AU, so presumably the audition videos are fake and Makoto's pregame-sona would also be fake.
Anyway, here's my thought process on Pregame Makoto, whether or not he really existed:
So, the theme of how the pregames were translated seems to be keeping the general vibes but going tropey and ironic with them. Pregame Shuichi wanted to be a detective for the cool murder tricks, as a trope subversion; he was made into a played-straight Ultimate Detective character, no trope subversion. Pregame Kaede specifically didn't like people, and she's made to be the tragic "Let's be friends after the killing game!" character.
If we interpret the Pregames as real, then this shows that the fans, or at least the ones who auditioned, wanted to see the show break new grounds or go in new directions with its established character archetypes, but the show was unwilling to do that.
If we interpret the Pregames as fake, then it just means someone thought up the cruelest interpretation of these characters, specifically to hurt the ones in the trial.
So my task here is to honor both possibilities and lowkey clarify Makoto's role here overall. I think the best Pregame Makoto for me right now is one whose motivation is to be popular. Where the gist of Pregame Shuichi's audition is "I'm a huge fan of Danganronpa and I really want to turn the usual tropes for an Ultimate Detective character on their head," and the gist of Pregame Kaede's audition is, "I have no faith in humanity, so I'd be great in a killing game," and the gist of Pregame Kaito's audition is, "I'm going to kill everyone and win for the fame and fortune so nothing will be impossible," Pregame Makoto's audition would basically be, "I don't know as much about Danganronpa as a lot of other people do, I could never win a Danganronpa trivia contest, but I know that people love Danganronpa characters, and I want to be like that. I don't care if I win any money, I don't care if I survive, I don't care if I kill; I just want everyone to like me, like they like Danganronpa characters."
Meaning either that Danganronpa took a guy whose whole thing was wanting to be liked no matter what and made him into all-around-good-guy Makoto who finds himself winning people over just by being himself, or Danganronpa took Ultimate Hope Makoto Naegi and spun his wholesome likability into a completely compassionless need for attention.
And I'd say, assuming he survives to see those audition videos in the trial, his reaction would probably be some form of denial. Basically, his mind goes, "That's not true to how I actually feel, and I know that's not representative of Kaede, Shuichi, or Kaito."
Honestly, and maybe I haven't given the matter enough thought, but I think he just generally doesn't have enough skin in the "truth and lies" motif to be quite as bothered by the idea of being fictional as the others are. I think he would pretty quickly reach the conclusion that their feelings for each other matter more than whether they should be considered real. The idea of "There's a person who used to live in this body who was destroyed to create you" I can see bothering him. Like, I think his take on that case is more reactive to Danganronpa's crimes than the nature of his own existence.
(The idea that Pregame Makoto is still in him and he'll always be on the lookout for those kinds of feelings is something that might come later.)
And he and Shuichi basically take different paths to the same conclusion: They have to end the killing games forever.

@istgtumlrifyoudothisonemoretime asked a question
op i see you have a need to write smart stuff. here's the best my potato brain has to offer : a psychologist darling. kind of like hannibal and clarice. a psych student trying her best to understand her math professor at times and psycho analysing him for fun, even at times asking HIM to help her read others since he is so much clearer. this is all good until she one day decides to psychologically profile the lord of crime based on his crimes...and realises alot matches with the things her professor told her... she has to take it to sherlock-
Ahhh I literally just started Hannibal and I could honestly see her having the same gift for empathy that Will has and being able to sense and interpret the feelings and motives of other people. I do not think she would be able to dream or fantasize in killing someone and instead is terrified by the idea of it. But the way she is able to see through people is like Dr. Lector and understand exactly how they tick, she is a mix between the two of them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I imagine it is her final year at university when Professor Moriarty comes to teach at the school, she is one of the top students, excepted to work in maybe a top hospital to help patients deal with trauma or in the police to provide operational support in situations ranging from hostage negotiation to criminal profiling. Then there is no doubt that she will graduate valedictorian. William does not have her as a student since she had finished her math credits with the previous professor, but he certainly hears the rumors about the genius student who drives her professors insane by psycho analyzing them when she is bored in class. He catches glimpses of her in the halls when she is walking from one class to another or to her dormitory but never has a real opportunity to meet her, he honestly hears about her more than he sees her even from the most surprising places…
He honestly never expected to hear about her from the famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. When he encounters the famous detective on the train he mentions the same brilliant student because he had the pleasure of working together with her when Scotland Yard brought her in as an intern over the summer to hopefully convince her to join the force upon her graduation.
Then one day near the end of term after his lectures he sees her walking into his classroom as everyone else is walking out. She asks him if she could use him for her final, write a report on someone’s behaviors and their physiological state. William agrees, curious to see if everything he was told about her was true. So he invites her over to the Durham estate for an evening with him and his family so she can make her observations, conversation, dinner, drinks, and then her final observations. When she is sitting in the parlor with the three brothers she begins to break down her observations.
They all survived the fire that took their parents but they seem to suffer no psychological trauma so they perhaps could have felt detachment, or experienced abuse in their care. Louis seems abnormally protective of William as he was turning over his stake knife in his hand practically all dinner since William explained why she was there, as if he was scared something would happen to William and then not to mention that Louis serves as the house staff which is unusual for such a noble standing and that would potentially lead to different views than most of nobility has and they could potentially be ridiculed for those said views. Then Albert was not to different as he poured her a rather large glass of wine when she mentioned that she would be writing the paper when she returned to campus. There are a few other things, but of course she luckily never picked up on any criminal activity since they hid anything that may lead her to that conclusion.
She graduates from the university William does not see her for quite sometime until he hears from Paterson that they received her on the Scotland Yard force, she was hired specifically to investigate the Lord of Crime, recommended by Sherlock Holmes and many police officers who have witnessed her work on the scene and her psychology professor back at Durham. Once a scene is identified by the Lord of Crime she works on her case study about the criminal mastermind, gathering more pieces on who he might be. Sometimes killing styles do not align or the use of different methods of getting to their victim changes drastically, faked heart attacks, falling into the sea or river, having someone else shoot them in their own manor, poisoning their wine at a masquerade, and the list goes on, all nobility with some sort of stain on their past. The Lord of Crime had to have connections to nobility but yet does not wish to be apart of them as he kills them.
She gets told one day that the Jefferson Hope is getting to sick and this may be the last chance she has to get any more information from him. So when she sits down with him and the two of them talk, just talk, about his life, why he did it, his late wife. She learns that his benefactor is wanting to change society, get rid of the class system, get rid of wicked nobles…
…views that could potentially be ridiculed.
She returns home to dig up her old report on the professor from her alma mater and compare it to her case file on the Lord of Crime and a panic sweeps over her as she realizes when she was laying out the crimes in her mind from the killer’s point of view she was seeing it from William’s eyes.
When she goes to retrieve a copy of the official case file from Scotland Yard and not just her notes so she has more to work with in order to show Sherlock, she notices that they are missing. She knows that some on the force then is working with the Lord of Crime and he is onto her, trying to get rid of the evidence and it is like playing a game for him. It is a game of cat and mouse and she cannot let herself be the mouse.
She has no idea that just like how she was observing the Lord of Crime or William at dinner, he has been observing her as well all this time. Paterson giving him details on how she behaves in the office, Fred or Bonde watching her from the building across from her flat which has a perfect view into her window, Mr. Jack following her on the days she goes to the market as he himself gets things for the estate, Albert watching her when she goes to prestigious clubs to conduct interviews with potential suspects, or even William himself watching her from the shadows when she is looking about a crime scene…
And he finds her fascinating, the way her mind functions to understand a killer but she would never commit such an act herself or how she can completely understand his motives without even trying. It is truly remarkable, as well as a problem, but why get rid of such a remarkable thing when you observe it like a beautiful nightingale in a cage while it sings?

Funny fic idea:
Some RSA prince has a crush on the reader/MC. Being a princeTM, he automatically assumes its a damsel in distress situation. He notices they spend a lot of time at Scarabia and once again assumes that his beloved must be dating that horrible villain Kalim. After all, if he's at NRC he must be evil no matter how good his hospitality skills are. Cue him going to confront Kalim in a contest for the reader's hand in marriage.
Cut to Kalim, post-chapter 4, and no longer as oblivious. He's confused at the open hostility but quickly puts it together. Kalim is about to explain that the so-called damsel is dating Jamil but he stops himself. If he corrects him, then he's just gonna go harass Jamil and he can't have that. So Kalim jokingly accepts the challenge, neither confirming nor denying his relationship with the reader. He sends Jamil off with a list of errands to keep him out of Scarabia (said "errands" include hug your beloved, kiss your dearest, cuddle them, etc).
To combat this threat, Kalim connects with his inner Scarabia student and unlocks his full powers as a professional nuiscence. You see, all NRC students have to pick up certain skills to survive in their respective dorms. Ever since the overblot, Kalim has been perfecting the Scarabian art of fire starting and then acting surprised when shit blows up.
Cue Kalim dragging the RSA prince in a wild goose chase all over NRC while constantly bombarding him with a much more aggressive form of Scarabian hospitality and dialing his energy levels from 10 to 20.
The rest of the dorm and even the school is joining in because 1.Fuck RSA 2.It's the only time the teachers would let them get away with it. Also for Scarabia, their port-CH4 motto is "Happy Jamil, happy Scarabia" (just because their dorm mates doesn't mean they're spared from a good roasting).
Meanwhile, Jamil spends a nice time with his beloved and silently thanking Kalim for the day off. Grim is being babysat by ADeuce, so maybe they finally got enough time for netflix and chill, who knows?
I'm starting to feel like I really should spend more time thinking about Kalim's personality and reading his stories so I could give some proper thoughts to these - I'm really not so confident when it comes to my understanding of him (another reason why Kalim is more of a background character in my fics so far).
Like yes he's the sweet sunshine boy but all these characters are too multidimensional for just the surface reading to be all there is.
I do absolutely love this idea, tho. I don't even know how deliberate Kalim would need to be about this. Like, I could also see him going in with good intentions and not much else, yet his earnestness and enthusiasm being enough to carry him through in the end.
Plus I can totally see Kalim throwing himself in harm's way for Jamil. How appreciated that would be… well, that’s another thing altogether, isn’t it? And like, whether Jamil would be able to actually chill, knowing all this is going on… Well, that'd require a lot of unlearning of old habits for him, I wouldn't hold my breath. But hey, I'm sure we can help him relax a bit.
I do also wonder how Jamil would feel about being pushed aside in this situation. Would he feel glad not having to deal with it? I suppose, since it's Kalim doing it, Jamil wouldn't at least take it as so much of a slight for Jamil's ability to handle the situation. Like, say what you will about these two, but I'm sure Jamil knows just how highly Kalim regards Jamil's abilities.
It would be such chaos, tho, and the whole NRC would absolutely be all over it. Some to help you out, some for Jamil or Kalim’s sake, most just for the chance to stick it up for this pompous RSA prince.
And in the end RSA prince comes to the conclusion that Kalim is actually as sweet as he looks and actually maybe Kalim is the one who needs to be saved from NRC (and might be a most eligible match, too).
Cue Jamil's mixed feelings of a) possibility of respite from Kalim but b) not being able to just let him get “kidnapped” without consequences.
Also that line of “Scarabian art of fire starting and then acting surprised when shit blows up”... If that ain’t Jamil in book 4 to a T. Wonderfully put.

Aaand we'll call that good. Now to see if I get any nibbles...
(I know the game says tag a person for each WIP but I don't think I've got that many writing acquaintances on here, so instead I've got one person per fandom grouping)

Alternative title for this rant: Gosho is a misogynistic writer and I am going to scream.
Time for the case where someone changes their face to Shinichi's! I have mixed feelings about this case. I do enjoy it but the romance aspect of it is once again really, really bad, but I'll be getting into it when it happens.
...And it's already time for me to complain. Can they just inform Ran about the aspects around the case instead of leaving her in the dark? It's so shitty of Heiji to constantly get Ran's hopes up about Shinichi showing up when he KNOWS he can't. This has happened so many times now and I hate it, especially when he's the one who is all for Ran knowing so why taunt the duo like this?!
Okay but will the opening address the symbolism they put in it, with Ran putting the glasses back on Shinichi because to her he's Conan, her little brother, not Shinichi her terrible, gaslighting, absent love interest? It won't but I think it's pretty important symbolism, as this also happens in this case though Gosho tries to spin it as something romantic in nature instead when it's really, really not.
It's a miracle Shinichi survived this case, considering he transformed in water. The transformation is already painful for him, and now he has to worry about not drowing too, while his throat is still extremely sore from the cold he has which would make it even more painful.
I know this isn't Shinichi but he looks like him and he looks good in these clothes.
"Ran cares more about the 7-year-old boy in her care who has gone missing than her love interest who suddenly appeared out of nowhere after a long time of avoiding her so that must mean something about this Shinichi!" It means that Ran is a good person who cares a lot about her little brother who she has been helping raise and I fucking hate this plot with a passion because it's so goddamn stupid T-T
Poor Shinichi, though, everyone hates him because of he wanted to protect the child of the mayor from the truth about the reason for the murder suicide.
I'm going to say it, Ran has no reason to be suspicious of this version of Shinichi and it speaks very badly about her character that the moment he doesn't behave how SHE wants him to behave, she writes him off <.<
Shinichi should have been a drama student as well, he did not need to put on the wig but he did because he needed to fit the theme of the monster in the forest.
Is it bad I don't find the reporter lady to be that bad? Yeah, she's a bit annoying but she's only trying to find the truth about the situation that Shinichi purposely kept hidden.
Ran: Should I be upset that Shinichi has lost his memory?
Kazuha: Of course you should be! I would be!
Ran: I don't feel anything, though.
Gosho a moron: Because it's not Shinichi and she somehow knows even though she shouldn't but I'm just making bullshit excuses as to why she does!
Me an intellectual (delusional): It's because she doesn't love Shinichi.
Heiji is a true bro, though. He saw his boy has stabbed someone, still believes he's innocent and goes out of his way to protect him.
Kogoro, Kazuha and Ran are so bad at lying T-T
And Gosho loves to make Ran an absolute idiot because he has no respect for her at all <3
Ran: Please make his boy the real Shinichi, the person I believe him to be!
Me: Ran do you even like Shinichi at all. Or do you just like the version of him you've made in your head?
We don't speak enough about Shinichi's talent at acrobatics as well. We see it often with Conan but not as much as Shinichi but he was impressive jumping from tree to tree.
Oh this case also reminds me of how much of a doormat Ran is due to Gosho. "Shinichi, don't go!" CHASE HIM RAN. INSTEAD OF ASKING HIM TO STOP BEING WHO HE IS, FOLLOW HIM YOU ABSOLUTE MORON!
Why can't he just give Ran's character basic fucking respect?!
And Heiji uses logic to come to the right conclusion, a curtesy that he can't be bothered to give to Ran because Gosho has absolutely no respect for his women characters and I'm tired of pretending he doesn't <3
This is why I am so angry about the canon ships. They're incredibly misogynistic in nature and this fandom turns a blind eye to it and pretends that people like me who also have other ships for the characters just believe so because we ship something else. I have NEVER cared about canon so Shinichi and Ran being canon does not bother me, what does bother me is how disgusting the writing behind the canon ship is.
Shinichi is crying so that must mean he isn't her Shinichi because Ran's Shinichi is a "macho man" who doesn't believe in emotion. I. Hate. This. Plot. Go fuck yourself Gosho.
I am angry. I am so goddamn angry. I am going to write Shinichi crying in front of Ran and I am going to make her have normal emotions about it because fuck that "this isn't Shinichi because he's crying" bullshit Gosho wrote the misogynist toxic masculinity prick of writer.
This isn't even the worst case for the canon ship. The worst one is the London one T-T
AND AGAIN SHINICHI HAS NO RESPECT FOR RAN TELLING HER TO STAND BACK WHEN SHE IS THE ONE WHO KNOWS SELF DEFENCE. FUCK.
Heiji: Ran has no interest in Shinichi when he lost his memories so that must mean that it wasn't him.
Me: I am going to punch someone.
This poor guy though... All of this happened because he was too in shock to hear the truth.
I really don't know how everyone isn't terrified when Shinichi starts to bend over in agony. Also we should discuss how he always grabs at his heart, you can't tell me it doesn't put a lot of stress on that organ.
Shinichi: If I turn back into Conan in front of Ran-
Me: What? What will happen? Will she be pissed off you've lied to her constantly? Made her reveal secrets about herself to her brother that she never intented for you to hear? That you've seen her in a state of undress so often? That you gaslit her constantly about your identity and don't trust her at all? So romantic.
Ran just isn't all that concerned that Shinichi let out such a terrible scream of pain. Just shouting his name casually like it's normal when if I was in her situation and my boyfriend did something like that I would rush to him immediately.
So romantic <3
Ran he's seen much more than what you wanted him to see. Kogoro, I don't like you most of the time but please do give him a judo throw.
Oh Shinichi is shorter than Heiji, or at least he was in that shot.
She actually chased after Shinichi for a change. What a surprise :o
And this isn't romantic, Gosho. It's Ran once again being told to stop chasing Shinichi and her being a doormat and backing down because he told her to be so :p Also I've said it before and I'll say it again, it is incredibly cruel of Shinichi to make Ran wait without telling her the truth. A comedy show did this plot better than Gosho does and it's so embarrassing. The man gave up on his wife because he didn't want her to wait indefinitely for him as he didn't know when he would return. Also she was completely aware of the situation he was in and she made her own decision of whether she actually wanted to wait for him. Meanwhile Shinichi just strings Ran along with false promises because she is his possession and only he is allowed to have her.
Kazuha: Lets go!
Ran: But Shinichi told me to wait! I'm a doormat!
Kazuha: No you're fucking not.
Kazuha has more respect for Ran than Ran has for herself. Typical.
I really don't get the framing to make Ran a nuisance to Shinichi and his secret. I don't get why his lack of trust in her and respect for her is considering romantic. I don't understand how people enjoy this ship in canon. Fanon I can understand, but people actually defend the canon for some reasons I'll never understand.
This is the only romantic thing Shinichi has done for Ran, not letting go of her hand because she said she didn't want to. That's it. And I think it's terrible and Ran deserves so much better.

She faced an impossible task — to survive. To survive at any cost and against all odds. Not to follow in the footsteps of her mother and father, to break off all contacts with the gang, the foundations of which had penetrated her skin, and it would be good not to leave after them all. To continue living, she had to go to school, albeit late, but she needed to finish and get a basic education. A new city, a new school, a new life, all with the same name. The principal accepted some kind of made-up story on her knee about why she had to return to school at that age, and enrolled her as a student. Of course, it was impossible to fulfill her little goal without problems. Classmates and guys from the parallel tried to waylay, come up with something, put it in place, just have fun with an unsociable girl, but a few explanations in understandable language on their fists turned out to be enough to get behind her. She earned her place in the gang not with pretty eyes, but with deeds.
It wasn't so easy to master the curriculum, but it wasn't too difficult either. The exact sciences were especially given.
And physical education. The teacher advised to contact the coaches from the sports clubs at school so that good physical fitness and a short temper would be directed towards a peaceful course. She agreed and really followed the advice. There were three clubs in the school — football, volleyball and exy — and she just had to choose the one to which her heart lay, or its likeness. Several days have passed and a dozen matches of various teams in these sports have been watched, and only one game has hooked her. The players impressed with their speed and intensity, the brightness of the game on the field, as if they were fighting for life and death, and an unconditional victory snatched from rivals without unnecessary effort.
Unbelievable.
This kind of game suits her.
Training day after day, interscholastic games that felt like survival games, victories torn from the throats of rivals, and heartbreaking defeats - all this was not in vain.
The last game of the school year, the last game at school, because it was already her senior year, a loss after which disappointment spread through her veins, the desire to run away with a wild howl from her throat, which hurt after shouting at teammates, an empty shower room where there was too much room just for her, the only one of the girls on the team, and a stranger in the women's locker room, who immediately stared at the girl who entered with a lifeless gaze.
— Is it worth killing yourself because of this?
A low, husky voice, dark eyes, a tattoo in the form of the Roman numeral "5" on the left cheekbone and blond hair.
She watched his whole team and him in particular because they were both goalkeepers, but now this... Humiliating. Where is he and where is she.
— Maybe shouldn't have done that. But it's too late to think about it.
Late. For her. As always.
— But if it wasn't, I wouldn't be here.
What does he mean by that? And what is he really doing here?
— What do you need?
— I need you. A player like you suits us.
— Are you laughing? After losing?
— Does it look like I'm laughing?
— Can you do that?
— Draw conclusions. Your coach has a contract. For you, training starts in a week, hurry up if you don't want to be late, Natalie Shields.
He got up from the bench and left, leaving behind a bittersweet feeling of anticipation that replaced the sour taste of losing.
Three days later, she enters Edgar Allan University, and a week later she starts training. Two months later, in her first game, in a black uniform, she enters the field to the left of Andrew Minyard, who chose her, with the Roman numeral "6" on her left cheekbone.

also yes Gojo is Gege’s favorite pincushion but in some ways that’s also his babygirl.
(this is all coming from a place of love-I swear Gojo is my babygirl too, but if you take a step back and think about it:)
The story warps its own internal logic and powerscaling to validate Gojo’s delusional cope (that he is not alone as the strongest) in a way that took me tf out multiple times. Gojo’s dream (inherited and expanded by Yuuji) is the one that wins in the end, outcompeting heavy hitters like Sukuna, Kenjaku, Yuki, and Geto.
there was no logical reason for Gojo to trust that his bunch of bum colleagues (no offense Nanami but you got cooked) (Mei Mei literally ran away to Malaysia😭) would have the strength or guts to rescue him from the prison realm.
there was no logical reason to believe his 1st year students could defeat special grade curses. All of the trio should have died and Gojo should be known as the worst mentor in shonen history. But somehow Nobara survived and just lost an eye??? Nobara saved the day in Shinjuku with her lil girlboss moment set up by Gojo.
there was no damn reason Gojo should have been so relaxed in the airport after getting chopped by a reality slash that broke the 4th wall of the manga and was too fast for the 6 eyes. But everyone survived (even Yuta after getting chopped.)
Gojo whales on Megumi and blows him up with multiple reds and hollow purple because “since it’s Megumi I know he can take it” AND HE DOES??? Megumi walks it all off like a mild hangover. What kind of message are we receiving here… beating kids for the greater good is fine if they’re strong?? 🧐💀
Gojo spent the whole manga gambling just as much as Toji did. Gambled on Yuuji from chapter 1. Shibuya happened, but Gojo was right in the end- Yuuji did develop Shrine and did end the cycle of curses by killing Sukuna.
In conclusion, Gojo is literally this guy👇
Tumblr media
and he fucking wins in the end 😭
