Reminder that almost no western country even recognised the State of Palestine

And yet, we’re supposed to believe they want a two state solution?

I will be honest I am pausing my studyblr posts to post for palestine. My brother has left this world recently (unrelated to the conflict) and when I try to distract myself from it I find myself in a world where almost everyone with any power is supporting the genocide of my fellow people.

i genuinely don't know what to do anymore. i tried using my voice and it was taken away from me in seconds. i gave up weeks of my life in order to share my story, but in the end it was all for waste. i can't even breathe. this is fucking horrible.

All Gemma said was that people shouldn't harass actors to come out on social media just because they played a fictional queer character in a fictional story, which is what happened to Kit. Why are you against that?
Hi, anon!
What Gemma did was watch Kit put his head in a beehive, because he wanted to play with the bees, and get stung because the bees sensed a threat. She reacted with "Omg how dare they sting a young, scared boy like that, they're harrassing him". Gemma doesn’t even question why the bees stung him and what Kit could have done to not provoke the bees and instead get to play peacefully with them. If Gemma cared to understand the situation she'd try to understand the reaction of the bees. She'd learn that humans have dressed up as bees to steal their honey, killed bees and cut down beehives over several centuries. So there is a difference between harrassing someone and defending oneself from a threat. Gemma isn't a bee so she doesn’t understand. Kit is a bee, but he put his head in the beehive looking like a human. The bees recognised him as a threat and not as a fellow bee. Now that it's known that Kit is a bee, Gemma is like "See, the bees shouldn't be so quick to sting one of their own". Which is....still not understanding why the bees will keep stinging humans...and that putting one's head in a beehive isn't the way to go about it if you want to play with bees...
If you want to enter a queer space (one of the few there is) (the beehive in this metaphor), then you need to understand how long queer people have fought against straight people to be able to have this queer space, and how queer people have been killed, excluded and looked as second class citizens by straight people forever. Queer people are a minority and want queer people in queer spaces. Queer people need queer representation to reach queer normalisation. It's the way it is when you're a minority. A fight to be seen, heard, recognised and represented. A fight against repression.
If you're closeted, straight passing and straight presenting, you can’t expect to be welcomed in queer spaces, be recognised as queer by queer people and have queer people be okay with you representing them. That's just the way it is when you're closeted and choose to be papped holding hands with a woman right after accepting a queer role. I don't blame Kit because he's young and doesn’t understand the queer fight and importance of queer representation yet.
Notice, he hasn't been papped holding hands with a woman after he's come out as bi. He wouldn't have been met with the same reaction if he'd not held hands with a woman when accepting the queer role. Queer people understand that people are closeted. It's when you provoke them by pretending to represent them and then publicly act heterosexual that they sting.

By
Jon Levine and Matthew Sedacca
A Broadway theater producer is the latest New Yorker to be caught on film brazenly tearing down fliers of civilians in Israel kidnapped by Hamas terrorists, The Post has learned.
In a video shared online by neighborhood blog I Love the Upper West Side, James L. Simon, who co-produced the 2022 Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman,” is seen at West 62nd Street and Broadway using scissors to remove a poster featuring one of the roughly 200 hostages taken by Hamas during its Oct. 7 surprise attack on Israel.
The stone-faced Simon then crumpled up the flier, which had been taped to a traffic sensor box in the heavily Jewish neighborhood, before chucking it into a garbage can and silently walking off, the footage showed.
“You’re going to a dark and devious place if you’ve come to a place where you’re ripping posters off the wall of Israeli hostages, of innocent people held captive by terrorists,” former Broadway producer Adam Epstein, who hosts the podcast Dirty Moderate, told The Post.
Simon, who has also produced Broadway revivals of “Pippin” and “Bells Are Ringing,” told The Post he took down the fliers for the purpose of keeping the city’s streets clean, not for antisemitic reasons, and apologized for offending anyone.
“I’m a strong supporter of free speech and encourage people to express their opinions, but all I’m asking is to do it legally,” he said, citing city Sanitation Department rules.
Videos of New Yorkers ripping down similar kidnap posters around the city have surfaced, putting on blast a New York University student, teens on the Upper East Side, and Brooklyn husband-wife couple.

One thing I’ve been seeing as comments under peoples posts is that the Palestinian cause is just Hamas propaganda, that the photos of the people with blood and dust on them are makeup.
Propaganda requires organization and money. It requires people to generate ideas and execute them, none of which palestine has. Content from the ground by news networks and organizations is RARE all we have are palestinian tiktokers (!!) showing you what their lives have turned into, interviewing their neighbors and begging for help.
If you need an example of propaganda please kindly refer to Biden’s speech and the way anyone with any kind of money or power that can be influenced is supporting Israel and repeating the same 3 words ‘terrorism’ ‘antisemitism’ and ‘animals.’ You can see it in the way world leaders are quick to spread information that turns out to be completely false and plastering it all over the news and having world leaders say that it’s true.
World leaders are NEVER on the side of the oppressed they are always looking out for their own interests. Would you really trust world leaders sitting safe with their pockets lined with the money of the people more than the regular people of the country who are telling you about their real lived experiences and showing them to you as proof?
