Twisted Fates
Part Five
(Part One ; Other parts here)
"How was school?" A voice startled Grimmjow as he stepped into the house he'd live in during high school. "T-the fuck?!" He stammered out, eyes widening once he realized who it was. He'd almost forgotten that he shared a house with like five other guys in high school since he couldn't afford to rent by himself. "S...Shawlong?". "Why do you look so surprised to see me?" Shawlong asked with a raised eyebrow as he disappeared into the kitchen "I live here too, if you've forgotten". "I fucking know that.." Grimmjow grumbled, remembering how they all split up once Grimmjow finished high school, later he found out they all were either killed or dead from some sort of freak accident. Shawlong, Edrad, Yylfordt, Di Roy and Nakeem. “The others are still at work” Shawlong explained “I was just about to leave for work”. He felt a wave of nostalgia wash over him, "I'm going to bed". He didn't wait for Shawlong to respond, climbing the stairs and heading straight for his room. How weird was this? He was back in his old room, it was still a mess. Just like he remembered. His clothes were strewn all over the floor, bed sheets messy, his desk was cluttered with papers and stuff that he’d never turned in to class. He grinned unconsciously, "...damn, I missed this fucking room".
"The hell man" Tsu grunted "You're so late". "Got caught up with the teacher" Grimmjow lied, "Kept nagging me about a math tutor". "Ahh" Matsuo drawled "Sensei said something about how I need a history tutor too". "And a life tutor while you're at it" Ryu quipped "Before you showed up, Matsuo was all over one of the girls here..up until her boyfriend showed up. He ran and hid behind Ueno". "Haah?!" Matsu scowled "I could've taken him on! But he was threatening to call his friends and shit! I wasn't up for that bullshit!". "Whatever, let's go" Grimmjow let out as he walked past them "I'm starving". "There's a ramen place down the street, s'pposed to be real good" Ueno proposed "And there's discounts for students". "Oho~! Let's go there! I spent all my allowance on a game the other day, Ryu~ do you mind paying for me?". "Hell no" the teen said with a straight face "You still owe me from the last time I lent you money". "You do ask him for money a lot. Ueno nodded his head "Get a job like the rest of us". Grimmjow looked at the pavement as they walked, the sun shining down with its warmth. He remembered these days so well, he had decided against a part-time job since he didn't want to go the extra mile. But this was a second chance for him, he wanted to do things differently. Would having a part-time job affect the future? "Oi, Grimmjow" Ueno called "The ramen place is down this street". "Right.." He let out, turning back around. There's no way having a job now would affect his future, it was so minimal and provided money. As the sun went down, they parted ways and he found himself watching the three as they walked away from him. He'd taken these days for granted when he was a teenager, he wondered if they were all really friends or just liked hanging out with each other. He sighed softly, turning around and heading home. He thought back on the girl, wondering if it had been too soon for him to try and get close to her. But if he had no idea when he was going to be sent back, the he needed to find out her killer as soon as possible! She said she had a few friends in the class next door, was one of them her killer? Isamu said she met her killer in high school, so he needed to find out when she met those friends.
So focused. She was so focused as her lips moved with each word she let slip from them. It was so hard for him to see her this way, after seeing her die literally just a week ago. She felt different now though, more...secluded? Was that the word? He couldn't quite formulate the word, but she was way different than when she was his neighbor. As his neighbor, she seemed more airy and free. Was she like this before? He'd never noticed since he wasn't trying to pay attention to her back then. But now, it bugged him a bit. "...are you listening, Grimmjow-kun?" Her soft voice cut through his thoughts. He blinked a few times, eyes glued to her own "...Yeah, fine..". He looked away with a yawn, "This is boring". "..it's only been half an hour since we started studying" she laughed, leaning back in the chair "I guess we can take a break if you want". He yawned again, leaning back and staring out of the window. What now? He still had to find her killer. But how? Her friends, there was no way either of then could've killed her. So who? "You..seem to be lost in thought lately" she voiced, eyes lowered to her hands "Are you okay?". "..that sounded creepy" he sighed "What? You've been watching me". Her cheeks grew red, "N-no! It's just that..you seem different since the other day when you helped me clean the classroom...the Grimmjow-kun I know, doesn't care about anyone but himself and his friends..". His eyes widened, looking over at her "..was that an insult?". She bowed, "No..just something everyone knows...". "..whatever..a person can change if he wants" he drawled "If I want to fucking be nice then I will, nothing to it". "...or you need something" she brought up "Is that why you've been nice to me?". He groaned, layijg his head down "You're fucking impossible, I swear...just let me be nice, can you do that? Or do you want me to be rude again?". "...you're rude anyways" she pointed out "Just now you insulted me". He lifted his head, leaning against his palm "Anyways....can I ask you something?". "Sure" she smiled, allowing him to continue. "You said you have friends in the next class right? Who are they?". She blinked a few times before realization graced her mind "Oh...you're asking because you want to know about Mina-chan, right?...everyone always asks me about her". She gathered her things, smile still on her lips yet she couldn't hide her disappointment "Mina-chan just broke up with her boyfriend so she's free..if she likes you of course". Now he was confused, "Who the fuck is Mina? Why are you leaving?". She looked at him with slightly wide eyes, "...you..don't know who Mina-chan is?". He shook his head. "Why would I? Sit down, don't get your panties in a bunch". She puffed her red cheeks out, embarrassed as she sat back down "..dont say that, its mean". "Whatever" he sighed, "Anyways, so you do have friends..". "Why would that matter to you?" She asked. "It doesnt" he leaned back in the chair "I was just wondering...". She had friends, which one of them was going to kill her in the future? And why? "..just because I'm bored as hell and don't have anything else to do....do your friends bully people? Are they mean, I guess is what I'm asking". She laughed, "Bully? Mean? Grimmjow-kun, you're describing your own group!". He glared lightly at her, "Just fucking answer! And why do you keep adding -kun at the end of my name?". He knew very well why, her confession popped back into his mind as he looked away, scratching the back of his head. If he wanted to save her, he needed to be completely focused. He couldn't have her still being in love with him. "Just call me Grimmjow.." he let out. "..r-right..sorry...." she smiled, looking back down at her books "And to answer your question: no. I only have two friends, Mina-chan and Emi-chan. Mina-chan is more popular with the guys while Emi-chan is like me, quiet and shy..". "Just two friends?" He repeated softly as he threw his head back gently. Two friends. There was no way a girl killed her, so when exactly does she meet her killer? "...I dont have the energy to spend on a whole group of friends..so I'm happy with the two that I have" she pointed out "You have a lot of energy to give, thats why you have so many friends, right?". He raised an eyebrow, sitting up straight again "I dont have a lot of friends" he corrected "I just have the three". "Hmm.." she nodded "Do you wish you had more friends?". "Why would I want more morons to follow me around?" He chuckled, "Its fucking annoying sometimes". She smiled, "...ya know..this side of you is nice to see". His laugh faded into a light frown, "Whatever....is that is for the tutoring?". She nodded, "Y-yeah I guess. We'll meet up once a week if that's okay with you". He got up from the chair "...how about a few times a week?". She looked up at him, "..s-sure! If thats what you want..I dont mind!". "Great, see ya tomorrow then" he waved as he walked off.

what age group, gender and ethnicity do you most often end up playing? if you play original muses with canon roots ( like oc siblings, coworkers, etc. ) or someone who’s been either just a name or a few lines of dialogue in canon, how do you build that character? do you pick the muse first and build from there, or do you need have the muse ready in your head and only then pick the connection, or a combination of the two?
Forgive me because this is gonna be long ;w; thank you for the ask tho!
what age group, gender and ethnicity do you most often end up playing?
Between all of the muses I’ve tried, I apparently most often end up doing older men of varying ethnicity and race lol
if you play original muses with canon roots ( like oc siblings, coworkers, etc. ) or someone who’s been either just a name or a few lines of dialogue in canon, how do you build that character? do you pick the muse first and build from there, or do you need have the muse ready in your head and only then pick the connection, or a combination of the two?
Okay so, I’ve got a total of two original muses... well, sorta, an original muse and a half. I muse my MK oc, she’s a ghost that haunts the Lin Kuei temple named Ying Yue, and I muse an original take on the krypt explorer who me and another friend named Isamu Ueno! With Isamu, I picked the muse and built from there and then made a connection, with Ying Yue... I dont really know how to describe -w- partly because i dont remember bghbfh
Basically, Ying Yue was built off a hc I previously had that the Lin Kuei temple is haunted. I wanted a chance to rp a sweet bean of an oc like just the absolute sweetest nicest gal and well optimistic for a woman with a tragic end. I had discussed some ideas for her in a server I’m in and they helped me develop, played around in a picrew, and one of my friends suggested a fc for me, and boom out came Ying Yue, a very sweet ghost that wants to befriend everybody in the temple and whoever Kuai likes because she trusts him also thanks to another friend i accidentally ship her with frost because i love the grump and happy trope
As for Isamu, it started with a random thought of rping the krypt explorer, since as far as I knew nobody did that yet and I wanted to see what I could get away with when it comes to a character that canonically has no character, he’s just an avatar. I also disregarded all theories of him people thought of because, well, I didn’t even hear of most of them at the time! Anyway so a friend was helping me think of base ideas for him, name nationality personality etc. Ideas for his past popped into my mind late nights before sleep, and the rest I just sorta winged. I originally wanted him to be some weirdo with a macabre fascination for death and stuff, really edgy and dark, likes to sleep with the dead to see what it’s like to be dead and be surrounded with death, but then I... entirely forgot to write him like that! so he became a himbo. Eventually the complete opposite happened, so he’s a himbo momma’s boy that’s afraid of death but is too invested in adventure to ever stop, and has a weird kleptomania problem to cope with a traumatic event in his life. He’ll be like “Some people??? steal from graves?? to cope?? okay???” but still I promise he’s a big ol grumpy himbo... that’s probably robbing your house as we speak, approach slowly with food and kindness and he’ll literally drop everything for you because he can be good sometimes
he just needs some love
but blogs can be found at @arctikanspirit and @kryptictraveller but I’m not very active on ying yue’s blog because im at quite a lost for how to start it OOPS but blease feel free to interact with isamu

The women of Kondo Isami: Tsuyu, Miyuki, Takashi, Komano
Matsui Tune, the wife of Kondo Isamu, was born in 1858 as the eldest daughter of Matsui Yasugoro, a shogunate retainer. In the first year of Man'en, at the age of 23, she entered into an arranged marriage with Isamu Kondo, and two years later gave birth to their first daughter, Tama. According to Kondo, "I had arranged marriages with many beautiful women, but Tsune was the most ill-bred of them all. The disciples of Kondo said that he chose an ugly woman to be his wife because he would not be able to devote himself to his training with a beautiful woman. When Isamu Kondo went to Kyoto as a ronin with his students, Tsune looked after Shusai Kondo, Isamu Kondo's foster father, and stayed with his daughter Tama at the home of Miyagawa Otogoro (Isamu's elder brother), Isamu Kondo's family, after his execution at Itabashi in 1871. When Tama was 15 years old, he married Otogoro's second son, Yugoro, and they had their first son, Hisataro. (Kyutaro later joined the army during the Russo-Japanese War and died of illness.) ) Tune had promised Otogoro Miyagawa that she would inherit the Kondo family by adopting Yugoro as her son-in-law, and in exchange for handing over the dojo of Shizen Rishin-ryu, she would receive a share of the Miyagawa family's land. When Kondo returned to Edo after his defeat in the Battle of Toba-Fushimi, he said he was looking forward to seeing his wife and children on the ship and had a silver ring as a souvenir for Tsune. Kondo, who had many concubines in Kyoto, was also kind to his wife. In Kyoto, Kondo, on the other hand, was able to make a lot of money as the head of the Shinsengumi, and he began to fish for beautiful prostitutes and courtesans in Kyoto and Osaka and began to surround himself with them. First, there was Koganedayu, a prostitute at Shimabara Kizuya, who was one of the five most beautiful women in Kyoto, aged 23, and Kondo's favorite. Next was a geiko named Ueno of Kamishichiken. She was not so beautiful, but she was not registered as a geisha and was allowed to play at the home of Ueno's father. Ueno's father was the head of a large family in Kyoto and lived on Gozen-dori in Tenjin. The most famous of Isamu Kondo's mistresses (played by Yuka in the historical drama) was Miyukitayu, a tall, beautiful woman born in Kanazawa. At the age of 14, he went to work at a teahouse in Sambongi, Kyoto, and moved to Shimabara at the age of 16. At the age of 18, he became a tayu (a courtesan) and took the name "Waka-tayu" (a young tayu), and became well known for his beauty. He was immediately taken in by a servant and kept in a house near Ikedaya in Kyoto, where he was arrested by the Shinsengumi and became acquainted with Kondo. He then returned to Shimabara and went up to the tatami room under the name of "Miyukitayu," but Isamu Kondo made a move to Oriya in Osaka's Shinmachi district, and he was then taken in as a fugitive and kept in a rest house at the bottom of the Kizuya Bridge in Kizuya, Awakegai, Kyoto. Miyukitayu lived there with his sister, Otaka, but while Miyukitayu was away for treatment for rheumatism, Kondo had relations with her. When Miyukitayu realized this, Kondo gave him 200 ryo in compensation, and he withdrew and bought a teahouse in Shimabara. (One theory is that he died of illness.) His younger sister, Otaka, was a geisha at a teahouse in the Sonezaki-shinchi district of Osaka under the name of "Gokotayu," but after her sister Miyukitayu was married off to Kondo, Otaka was also rejected by him and lived with her at a rest house down the Kizuya Bridge in Kizumigai, Kyoto. After Kondo and the Shinsengumi left for Edo, Otaka was taken care of by Otaka and his sister Miyukitayu at their teahouse. However, the teahouse did not do well and closed its doors, so Otaka left Isamu with his sister and went to work at the port of Kobe. He disappeared for some time, but in 1882, he suddenly received a letter from his sister, Miyukitayu, saying that she was working in Singapore and had made some money. However, Oyagi left home after a dispute with Miyukitayu and became a geisha in Bakan, where she was favored by government officials such as Hirobumi Ito and Kaoru Inoue. After returning to Japan, Otaka sought out and reunited with Isamu Oyagi, who reportedly married a Korean trader and had three children. Finally, there was another woman who gave birth to Isamu Kondo's child. Her name was Komano, and she was a geiko in Sanbongi, Kyoto. After Kondo was executed at the Itabashi execution site in Keio 4 and his head was displayed at Sanjo Kawara in Kyoto, Komano gave money to a Tsuji lecturer to give a speech about Kondo's achievements in Kyoto and a memorial performance. When he returned to Kyoto after the Meiji Restoration, Miyuki-no-Tayu visited Komano in Sanbongi out of concern for Kondo. According to the story told at the time, Kondo's orphaned boy "was sent to a foster home until he was five years old, and was raised by the family until he was seven, when someone recommended that he be sent to Tofukuji Temple to become a disciple of the Buddha. It is said that the boy grew up to become a splendid monk and mourned for the repose of Kondo Isamu's soul.

Akira Kushida Performs Theme Song for "I'm From Japan" TV Anime
Singing is all about passion and guts, and now the official theme song performer has been revealed for I'm From Japan (known in Japanese as Jimoto ga Japan), an upcoming TV anime based on the martial arts gag manga by Seiji Hayashi about an overly-enthusiastic young man who has mastered a fighting style based on Japan's 47 prefectures.
The official theme song, entitled "Appare! Jimoto ga Ichiban!!" ("Bravo! My Home Town is Number One!!"), is performed by Akira Kushida.

The original I'm From Japan manga is serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump manga magazine, and the first three chapters of I'm From Japan are also available in English from Viz Media as part of the "Jump Start" series. Viz describes the story of I'm From Japan as follows:
Tokio Abiko is a transfer student from Yamagata Prefecture. He's rough, he's tough, and he wants to beat up the strongest kid in school and earn the respect that he an Yamagata Prefecture deserve! But soon he makes an unlikely friend who accepts everyone no matter where they're from -- and his name is Japan!
I'm From Japan is directed by Isamu Ueno and features animation production by ODDJOB. The series will broadcast on TV Tokyo on Mondays during the 7:05 time slot as part of the new "Chara Suta" section of the "Oha Suta" children's TV show beginning on April 08, 2019.

The SHSL Survivors’ Society-second generation headcanons
As promised, here it is! Shizuka is included in this list too, but she is of course not my creation. All the other kids mentioned are though, but not all of them have information about them beyond name and date of birth, because there’s a lot of kids here and coming up with that much info is...tricky.
Anyway, enjoy!:
Survivors’
Chieko Akamine and Koutarou Ueda
Shizuka Akamine (surname later changes to Kita), DOB 3rd December 2010. Appears prominently over the course of the story as a six-year-old and has a POV in the final epilogue as a 16-year-old. Shizuka is the first of the second generation, and also has the distinction of being the only one who has a parent who died in the game as well, and because of that tends to feel a greater responsibility for remembering the events that happened and preserving those memories for future generations. She is shy as a small child, but mostly grows out of that over the course of her life-though she remains a quiet sort of person. She is kind, sweet and thoughtful, and adores animals to the point of becoming a vet in her adulthood (as well as helping out at the Towa City Memorial Garden). She takes to calling her little sister ‘Mushi’ (bug) as an affectionate sort of nickname in the same sort of way Koutarou used to call Chieko ‘Moyashi’, and when she eventually has a child of her own, she names him Koutarou.
Chieko Akamine and Masashi Kita
Haruka Kita, DOB March 13th 2023. Definitely the more extrovert sibling of the two, Haruka is sunny-natured and a little bit of a tomboy, preferring to keep her hair shorter and avoid dresses where possible (much to the despair of her aunt Misa). Though there’s a slightly more parental aspect to their relationship owing to the age gap, Haruka is close to her big sister (even if she gets annoyed at the nickname). She’s also particularly close to her cousin Hayate (see below) as they’re the same age separated by a few months. She becomes interested in gardening at a young age, and though for her it’s little more than a hobby/pastime, Haruka’s gardening helps Chieko to feel like she’s got that aspect of her life back in some respect and so though she doesn’t directly help out, the mother and daughter bond a lot over gardening.
Tyson De Guerre and Wakana Abe
Felix Shouta De Guerre, DOB May 26th 2025. As a child, Felix’s speech is delayed and he struggles in school, resulting in him becoming generally unconfident and shy. He looks up to Tyson a lot, and visiting and helping to maintain the Towa City Memorial Garden does boost his confidence, and as an adult he goes to live in Japan, becoming the main gardener/groundskeeper for the garden.
Oliver “Olly” Kanato De Guerre, DOB August 1st 2028. A dreamy, absent-minded sort of person, Olly is always getting into scrapes due to not paying attention to his surroundings or just losing track of time. But he’s so good natured and amiable that it’s really difficult for anyone to ever get angry with him.
Verity “Vivi” Suzune De Guerre, DOB January 14th, 2031. The adored youngest child, Vivi is basically a ray of sunshine in the way her mother was pre-game, though she tends to be more honest with her feelings. She’s pretty proud of her mixed-race ancestry, and always introduces herself by her full name. Though she is musically and artistically adept, she doesn’t ever pursue either of these things beyond the hobby level.
Akira Kazama
Nanako Kazama (former surname Sawatori), DOB October 31st 2008, fostered January 2020, adopted end of that year. She is streetwise and hot-tempered, and doesn’t trust many people outside of her adoptive family, and the Survivors and their families.
Yuichi Kazama (former surname Ishi), DOB November 12th 2010, fostered April 2021, adopted March 2022. When he got fostered by Akira he ended up in the same elementary school as Tsubaki Higuchi, and as a result is fairly close friends with both her and Shizuka. He is a bit grouchy and puts on a tough-guy act a lot, but he looks up to Akira in a big way and follows in his footsteps to become a very popular Student Council President in his high school.
Kai Kazama (former surname Takamura), DOB April 5th, 2013, fostered June 2021, adopted same time as Yuichi. A sporty and determined person, Kai eventually becomes a skilled and successful baseball player with a huge fanbase.
Siblings/Friends etc.
Kazuki Kita (Masashi’s older brother) and Orihime Nanto (Hokuto’s little sister)
(Note: yes, this means that Chieko’s, Masashi’s and Hokuto’s families are all related by marriage)
Daigo Kita, DOB October 9th 2020. Level-headed, sensible and a bit of an old soul, Daigo takes an interest in Café Tanabata from a young age and helps out there a lot even before he decides that he’ll take it over as an adult with the help of his little brother. Given to talking in riddles, especially when he’s annoyed or tired.
Hayate Kita, DOB October 9th 2023. A combination of being impulsive and forever salty about the fact his birthday falls on the same day as his older brother’s, Hayate is more often arguing with Daigo. Luckily, despite this they get on inexplicably well, which is a good thing considering they eventually take over Café Tanabata from their mother and aunt. He’s an extroverted joker type of person.
Hikari Kita (Masashi’s younger sister)
Kyohei Matsushita, DOB October 12th 2019. Fairly calm, amiable boy who is rather introverted and can end up overwhelmed by his extended family, all of whom he loves dearly. Ends up in the same elementary and middle schools as Athena and Lexie Cain (see below), and the same high school as Lexie, and thus is friends with them.
Benjamin ‘Ben’ Cain (Erica’s sister)
Athena Cain, DOB October 17th 2017. Cheerful and outgoing like her late aunt, but less intense and generally more thoughtful. Though she takes an interest in mythology due to her name, she isn’t actually all that interested in history (sure, her family’s past interests her, but she hasn’t got the history obsession her late aunt did). She becomes a storywriter and artist instead.
Alexandria ‘Lexie’ Cain, DOB February 21st 2019. A charismatic, attractive girl, Lexie is enigmatic and slightly manipulative but in spite of this (or possibly because of this) she is very popular. She can be a bit prissy sometimes as well, but would put her life on the line for anyone she actually cares about (which is a very few people). She has a crush on Kyohei in high school, but is far too stubborn to admit it because he’s not her usual ‘type’ and she knows too well that he only sees her as a friend.
Yasu Kazama (Akira’s older sister)
Akiko ‘Kiko’ Shimada, DOB April 25th 2020. The eldest twin by nine minutes, Kiko is academic and driven, but despite this is compelled to become a voice actor like her late aunt. Though never as popular as Hibiki was, she does do quite well for herself, and after a while decides to become a coach for voice-actors.
Akemi ‘Emi’ Shimada, DOB April 25th 2020. Though identical to Kiko, Emi is quieter and struggles academically, and often feels like she is just a pale imitation of her sister and that she doesn’t fit in with her family, despite the fact they do clearly love and value her just as much. She takes an interest in the Towa City Memorial Garden, and as an adult is one of the people in charge of the funds that help to maintain and organise it, as well as the employment of people who do the actual maintaining and organising.
Sadao Taneda and Ayame Edano (Noriko’s childhood friend and little sister, respectively)
Airi Taneda, DOB September 30th 2024. Born with albinism, Airi’s birth is what helps her mother and her aunt have a closer relationship, as Ayame often seeks advice from Noriko about how to help her. Unlike Noriko, Airi is never embarrassed by her white hair and indeed likes to learn elaborate hairstyles to show it off, something which eventually leads to her becoming a hairdresser.
Toshio Taneda, DOB June 14th 2026. Quiet, slightly socially awkward, and very intelligent, Toshio basically spends his whole life in education-from being a complete swot in school to pursuing an academic career relating to maths and physics.
Yuuji Taneda, DOB July 7th 2030. Between Airi’s outspokenness and Toshio’s nerdiness, Yuuji finds himself embarrassed by his elder siblings constantly, and tries to distance himself from them in public, but he does love them really, and if anyone else teases them he will be on them like a shot. Indeed, he gets into a lot of fights in school because of defending people from bullies.
Hitoshi Edano (Noriko’s younger brother)
Isamu Edano, DOB December 9th 2026
Yura Edano, DOB May 24th 2029
Chikako Ueno (Daisuke’s older sister)
Daisuke ‘Isuke’ Hiraoka (surname later changes to Ikeda with Chikako’s second marriage), DOB February 26th, 2024. Eccentric and slightly flamboyant, this Daisuke actually can play musical instruments, and eventually becomes a professional clarinet player. Isuke is also the classic slightly over-protective brother who scares his siblings’ boyfriends/girlfriends. Also, nobody knows where his nickname came from or why-nobody admits to giving it to him.
Souta Hiraoka (surname later changes to Ikeda with Chikako’s second marriage), DOB August 21st 2026
Rie Ikeda, DOB July 18th 2032
Yumi Ikeda, DOB January 31st 2035
Shouta Kobayashi (Oshiro’s friend)
Hiroto Kobayashi, DOB May 1st, 2031
Mio Fujioka (Oshiro’s friend)
Masahiro Fujioka, DOB April 18th, 2032. A devilish, charming prankster, Masahiro is the type of person who just sails through life. He looks for every opportunity to pull off a prank or some sort of joke, and the twin-switch one used to be one of his favourites as a kid-or rather, it was until he decided to pull it on their mother and she freaked out when she realised. Though he’s well aware of the Killing Game and the Despair cult and all that, and that she knew someone who had died there, he’s never probed too deeply into why she had this reaction, as he feels vaguely uncomfortable thinking about all this.
Takeo Fujioka, DOB April 18th, 2032. A little more calm and straight-laced, Takeo is nonetheless a very fun-loving guy who generally enjoys taking part in Masahiro’s pranks, but naturally refuses the twin-switch ones after the reaction their mother had. He takes more of an interest in the past than Masahiro, so he knows more about what lay behind their mother’s reaction, and as it happens, he does pursue becoming a historian as a career because of this.
Atsushi and Kanade Arata (Kimihiro’s parents)
Hisae Arata, DOB April 6th, 2018. Though very much unexpected and unplanned, she ends up being the thing that puts back together her parents’ marriage, which had been slowly disintegrating under the grief for the older brother she never knew. With a name written with the characters for ‘long time’ and ‘blessing’, her parents have heaped a lot of love on her and are very protective of her, meaning she grows up living a sheltered life. As a result, she is a very sweet, very shy and soft type of person who ends up heavily dependent on others to look after her.
Tetsuya Yamaguchi (Kimihiro’s friend)
Taro Yamaguchi, DOB February 10th, 2025. He is slightly spoiled because he was the only child his parents were able to have, so sometimes he comes across a little entitled and haughty and coddled. But really, deep down, he’s a good guy, and does well in life. Not stunning or outstanding, but well. He also inherits his father’s whimsical approach to acquiring hobbies, and thus he tends to be interesting company in parties with all sorts of tricks and anecdotes to pull out.
Ichiro Usami (Shiro’s brother)
Shiro Usami, DOB March 5th, 2022
Akane Usami, DOB April 26th, 2024
Midori Usami, DOB May 30th, 2027
Gin Usami, DOB June 17th 2030
Yujiko Usami (Shiro’s sister)
Nanae Aikawa, DOB June 18th 2021
Namika Aikawa, DOB September 3rd 2023
Natsumi Aikawa, DOB January 14th 2030
Zenzo Usami (Shiro’s brother)
Aiki Usami, DOB February 2nd 2023
Goromi Usami (Shiro’s sister)
Kanon Tajima, DOB August 25th 2025
Kanade Tajima, DOB November 3rd 2030
Hotaru Mori (Hideki’s accquaintance)
Shiki Mori, DOB March 31st 2032. Reclusive as her mother, but probably a bit more practical and assertive, generally speaking.
