Sul palco, al San Ferdinando, c'erano solo lui, Francesco Silvestri e lsa Danieli. Mettevano in scena "Angeli all'inferno".

Appena ho letto, mi è tornata in mente la voce di Francesco, nella parte di un disadattato disabile, un angelo nell'inferno di una periferia fisica e mentale, che ripeteva accanto a un altro disadattato, Enzo Moscato, come intonando una cantilena:

WORLD’S MOST PRODUCTIVE LOON BREEDS AGAIN

Fe, the oldest documented Common Loon, hatched two chicks last week with her unbanded I Pool mate; the young were, at minimum, Fe’s 41st and 42nd offspring, extending her record for the species. Most of her prior chicks were begot with her long-term consort, ABJ, during their quarter-century partnership, but since their split in spring 2022, Fe has produced young in two of three breeding seasons. Prior to first coupling with ABJ in 1997, she hatched at least seven chicks with a color-marked male known as Dewlap. The qualifiers attending Fe’s age and lifetime productivity are necessitated by her initial banding in 1990 as a successful mother, when she was at least four years old, the threshold for Common Loon reproduction. As her earlier life history in the 1980s is a mystery, Fe could well be older than 38, and with more than 42 progeny to her credit. One of Fe’s 2024 young perished, from an unknown cause, within days of hatching. Although Refuge loon chicks collectively fare far better in terms of survivorship than their cygnet, gosling and duckling counterparts, of the roughly one in five who do not live to fledge from Seney in the fall, most disappear early, when as downy buoyant corks they are most vulnerable to predators and other antagonists. While not quite the endlessly doting parent that ABJ was, across 35 years of monitoring Fe has – assuming her second chick makes it to autumn – fledged 86% of her offspring. ABJ’s parenting is referenced in the past tense owing to a lack of reproduction since 2020. After a failed nesting attempt on E West last summer with a female two decades his junior, ABJ was evicted from that territory this spring, and again found himself on H Pool, which has served as his bachelor pad of sorts in both recent and distant years. Although this season he did attract a female known as Aye-Aye, there was no evidence of nest initiation by the pair. Historically H Pool has provided poor habitat for Common Loons, with only four fledged chicks since 1987, and if ABJ is to successfully breed again at Seney, it is likely that he will do so on a different Refuge territory. Will today's kids feel sentimental about the multiplexes in which they see movies, the way I feel about the small-town theaters where I grew up, the places where I learned to love movies? I have my own lost cinema paradises, so I should be the right audience for Cinema Paradiso, with its tribute to a bygone era of moviegoing. Tornatore's movie has some good things going on, including the performance of Philippe Noiret as Alfredo, and the wonderful rapport between Noiret and young Salvatore Cascio as Toto. Leopoldo Trieste's performance as the censorious Father Adelfio is also a delight, and ending the film with Alfredo's assemblage of the kissing scenes the priest made him excise is a masterly bit. But once Toto grows up to be the lovestruck teenager Salvatore (Marco Leonardi), I begin to lose interest, as Tornatore's screenplay lards on more and more sentimentality. I've seen the 155-minute version twice now, though I have yet to see the 173-minute "director's cut" of the film, in which, I am told, the grownup Salvatore (Jacques Perrin) is reunited with his teen love Elena (Agnese Nano), now grown up and played by Brigitte Fossey. Frankly, I don't much want to: The 155-minute version seems overlong as it is. Cinema Paradiso is beloved by many, and often makes lists of people's favorite foreign-language films, but I find it thin and conventional.

Isang pagsusuri ng Midsommar (2019)

Madalas na naiisip ng karamihan na hindi tayo mauuto sa pagsali ng isang kulto. Ngunit, gaano ba talaga tayo katibay laban sa sikolohikal na manipulasyon? Dito natin masisilip sa pelikula na “Midsommar” ang trahedya ng isang babae naging biktima nito nang pinagsamantalahan siya ng isang kulto sa pagitan ng kaniyang paghihinagpis. 

Sinusundan ng pelikula na ito ang magkasintahan na sina Dani at Christian at kanilang mga kaibigan na nagbabakasyon sa Sweden para makipaglahok sa mid-summer festival sa isang nayon sa sulok ng bukid. Kamakailan lamang nagpapagaling si Dani mula sa pagkamatay ng kaniyang buong pamilya, kaya’t hinikayat siyang sumali sa paglilibang na ito. Nakikitang kaakit-akit at masaya ang mga ritwal at tradisyon ng nayon, ngunit unti-unting gumuho ang imaheng ito para maihayag ang mas malagim at nakakakilabot na katotohanan.

Isa sa mga nagustuhan ko sa pelikulang ito ang napakamarilag na sinematograpiya nito. Nakakaakit ang pagkuha ng direktor, na si Ari Aster, ang kagandahan ng kabukiran at kalikasan ng Sweden at sa pag-baluktot niya ng mga tanawin nito. Masasabi ko na nabilanggo ang atensyon ko sa mga nakakakilabot na ritwal na pinakita na lalong dumagdag sa karimlan ng palabas. Noong pinanuod ko ito, napatago ako sa aking mga unan nang umabot sa mga eksena kung saan pinapalabas ang mga madugong tradisyon na nagsasalamin pala sa aktuwal na mga rituwal ng Pagansimo. Bukod doon, naging tanyag din sa akin ang emosyonal at sikolohikal na perspektibo ng pelikula sa dyanrang horror. Nilinaw rito ang pagkakagiba ng mga relasyon sa epekto ng pighati, kaya’t nakapupukaw ito ng mga damdamin.

Higit pa rito, pumukaw naman sa aking atensyon ang kultural na mga simbolismo, tradisyon, at mga rituwal ng mga Suweko (Swede). Repleksiyon ang kultong Harga ng pelikula sa mga Nordikong paniniwala at sa Paganismong tradisyon. Sa pagtingin ko, isang tanyag na halimbawa nito ang bahagi kung saan pinakita ang oso bilang analohiya ng katatagan at kagalingan. Sinasabi sa mitolohiya ng mga Nordiko na nagbibigay balanse sa sandaigdigan ang oso. Maiuugnay ito sa situwasyon ni Dani na nagdadalamhati sa kaniyang pagkaulila at sa umaalog na relasyon nila ng kaniyang kasintahan. Sa kasukdulang eksena, pinakita na nakabaluki na ngiti si Dani nang pinasok si Christian sa isang bangkay ng oso at sinunog sa loob ng kubo. Sa puntong ito, nakahanap ng pagtatanggap at kapayapaan si Dani nang nawala ang kaniyang toxic at makasarili na kasintahan. Higit pa diyan, naging mahalaga para sa kanya ang paghanap niya ng lugar sa isang komunidad na nakikiramay sa kaniyang pagluluksa. Dito ko napagtanto na mabibihag ang isang tao kapag udyakan sila sa oras ng sikolohikal o emosyonal na kahinaan. 

Bagama’t hindi totoo ang kultong Harga, tiyak na maihahambing parin natin sa realidad ang mga sunod-sunurang kaganapan sa “Midsommar”. Sa Pilipinas, isang kamakailan lamang na isyu ang pag-aresto ng lider ng kulto Socorro Bayanihan Services Inc. (SBSI) na si Jey Rence Quilario, aliyas "Senior Agila", sa krimen ng human trafficking, solemnisasiyon ng child marriage, at child abuse. Katulad sa palabas, may iilang pamamaraan ang SBSI upang manipulahin at kontrolin ang mga miyembro nito. Binebenta nila ang konsepto ng mapag-isang pamilya habang nangaabuso at gumagawa ng iba pa na malubhang krimen. Sa katotohanan, walang mahika o mahiwagang puwersa ang nakakabihag ng sarili sa isang kulto, kung hindi ang mga masama na impluwensiya sa emosyonal na pagkatao.

you must be very naive. 90% of all paparazzi shots are staged. If fans picture them and an agency buys their content it's different. Isa and mama Sainz are friends with people working for Hola. Agree. If you’ve noticed Carlos cares a lot about his image, maybe its a ferrari thing bc charles seems also like a complete PR angel on interviews & stuff, the Sainz family looks extremely image/what would ppl think/polished at least to me. Remember when there were rumours about Carlos cheating on Isa with some brazilian? It got sweeped under the rug, not confirmed nor denied, quickly back to the polished facade. Isa is just the perfect gf for image purposes : literally the most basic blond girl look that the majority of ppl idolise, looks like is fine with everything he does , doesn’t cause problems ( the hunting scandal wouldnt count for them bc they also do it💀). This also makes sense to why Carlos/Kelly alleged hookup didn’t turn into sth more, kelly’s too demanding for his liking probably (compared to isa), wasn’t carlos daniils friend also👀👀? That wouldve been potential scandal dany/max/kelly style, her family causes problems nonstop, causes problems herself.. literal PR disaster😂😂😂 props to my man carlos for being smart enough , he knew that family is up to no good from the start
