You knew what you were getting into. But, at the same time, it was a bit of ganji’s fault as well.

Getting downed at five ciphers was quite embarrassing, and most people wouldn’t even bother with the rescue.. But… then again, you know the feeling all too well. You were relatively close with the batter after all. That being said, you were in no hurry to complete said rescue. After completing your cipher you hurried over to the outside of the dreary hospital where Ganji was currently chaired. It was already above half, so if he were to get chaired once more, he’d be dead, but at least the rescue would give ganji a chance to redeem himself after that unfortunately short kite.

You carefully snuck around the limited structures to block the line of sight of Norton, who was camping the chair. You know Norton would prefer to not swing at all rather than risk accidentally hitting you in the process. As cruel as he may act, he does care for you. He is just a greedier version of his survivor counterpart, whom would give him an aggravatingly long earful if he downed you. Knowing all of this, you still decide to use it against him in situations like this.

And oh, how he loathes you for that.

Quickly, and a bit recklessly, you dashed up to the chair, trying to catch Norton off guard. It worked well enough to successfully get Ganji off the chair, but it you lost all your courage with it. You didn’t have it in you to body block, so you simply planned on going back to decoding duty while Ganji attempted to kite once more.

Well, that’s how you thought it would play out. When you booked it away from the chair you scrambled into the hospital and up the stairs, making your way to the untouched cipher on the second floor, being extra mindful of the gapes in the floor. It wasn’t til you were starting the cipher you heard Ganji call out that the hunter had changed targets. Before you could even register anything, you started hearing your heartbeat in your head, then the next thing you know you’re entrapped between two giant arms attached to an aggravated looking Norton. You shivered at the sudden pressure of the cold wall you’re now pushed up against. A small moan threatened to release from the mere contact with him.

You wanted to come up with some kind of excuse or reason that would soften the blow of the punishment that was soon to be delivered so graciously to you, but the damned hunter hasn’t given you a second to think so far, so why would he now? You bit your lip as his cold, rock constructed hands, traveled up your shirt, sending shivers through your entire body. One of which trailed far up to grip your neck. Not hard enough to hurt you just yet, but enough to make it a bit red.

“What’s wrong, doll face?” His voice was horse and filled with mockery. He felt no pity at your shook up face. “You weren’t this scared when you came up to the chair, huh?” He asked, hot breath tickling your nose. Fearing that you’d only make the situation worse, you decided to stay quiet for now as to save the little words you had before your brain inevitably turns to mush.

“That wasn’t rhetorical, brat.” he spat before roughly tugging at the top of your shirt, ripping the fabric so he could roughly squeeze a handful of your breast. The rock his hands were made out of pierced the plush skin, drawing up blood from the pressure. A mewl escaped your lips, rolling off your tongue as your skin stung from the rocks that threatened to tear through it.

“Please..” the whimper snuck out of your mouth, pleading for him to not only be gentler, but also to spare the cruelties you knew were upon the dark horizon. Norton was a smart man, almost annoyingly so. He knew exactly what you wanted by the glimmer in your eye. That was too fucking bad.

“If you’re gonna wanna come close to enjoying this, you’re gonna have to work for it, slut.” he growled, his guttural voice dropping, just like how his belt did. The sound of the ramshackle zipper echoing through the grey hospital halls. Only thing left to do was pray..

what r ur thoughts on reconciliation between jason and bruce. is it really possible? what would it take? what would it look like? seen some stuff on my dash lately about that particularly thorny issue and would love to get your perspective. (hopefully this is the kind of ask ur looking for)

So realistically we're not going to see Jason reconcile with Bruce because a) everybody loves angst b) no one is talking about the ISSUE. 

The ISSUE is not the murder thing. Like. The murder thing doesn't help but it isn't the root; killing people is something Jason decided to start doing because it was something Bruce is extremely firm on. He stands by the 'no murder' thing even when his own life and the lives of others are in danger. He stands SO firmly by it, that if you break that rule maybe you can break the entire foundation of Batman, which is that things are never so far gone they can't be redeemed. Gotham is never so far gone it isn't worth trying to repair. We are not cutting the rot away we are building an environment which no longer collapses into rot around us, even if it is gross, demeaning, dangerous work. 

If Bruce killed the Joker in Under the Red Hood I think Jason would have been lost forever. Because it would've been proof that Bruce's most fervent beliefs meant nothing. If Bruce's hardest promise, that he would not kill, was broken so easily, then what does that mean about all his other promises? All the promises that he loved Jason and would never send him away? If his hardest promise can be broken, do those easy promises even stand a chance? 

I think the issue is and always will be: Did you love me? Do you love me still? 

All those posts about coming back wrong and unlovable, and what if I was unlovable the whole time and it was just that I can't even be bothered to pretend anymore? That's Jason Todd. He crawled his way out of his own grave an open wound and he is trying to convince himself that he's doing fine while actively bleeding. I feel insane reading some of the discourse because it's talking about Jason from the pov of his disenfranchisement and that as driving him in Red Hood and like. No! Jason is disenfranchised, he was failed by the systems, absolutely; I do not fucking believe he is doing any of this for people like him. He is saying things that validate his pain because he cannot deal with the enormous amount of pain he is in. He died and came back to life. He did it in a way people don't know or understand, or via Lazarus pit, which people condemn. I think to resolve things they'd need a god damn religious discussion to even start with, to ask Jason if he thinks anything that has died and come back to life can ever be good, or if it's just him. 

I think he must have had self-loathing and insecurity built up before his death and it Exploded when he came back to life several years later and saw from the out side people attempting to move on. This is not a victim blame because of course he had self-loathing and insecurity, he was a kid with a difficult childhood and you need at least five years to a decade to start feeling like someone else, who maybe has confidence and certainty. I think being Robin let him borrow confidence, and so like, probably did feel great! He had a script and a role to fill and he was given a lot of practice to do it!

I think part of the problem is that post-resurrection is Jason has to figure out who he is for the first time again, even older now. He lost some of his teen years in figuring things out. He has the life experiences of a 14 year old and then training under assassins and then like. Drug lord?? For a bit?? 

Jason is not fighting for the disenfranchised. He is trying to figure out who the hell he is and is bouncing around so many teams and timelines and shit that all already know him and know him as the dead kid that I think for him and Bruce to make up, like. He probably needs to have a job?

Not for money necessarily, because like. The Wayne fortune is right there. But I think he needs to go somewhere, with a schedule, for like at least six months in a row, and have something low stakes dependent on him. Like a dog or something. Maybe get involved in local theater. Take the dog to dog training twice a week and teach small children acting in the afternoons. 

And once a week or whenever they feel like it Bruce and Jason can have a phone call, and Jason can bring up what's happening at the theater and how the dog is, and Bruce can talk about Wayne Corp shit. 

And if Jason learns from dog time about someone who is mistreating an animal or a partner then like maybe he goes and steals a dog or tells someone to come stay over at his house for a while and gives them some cash. And after he does something rash he still needs to come back to his apartment and feed the dog and show up to the theater the next day. 

I think he needs to see the world around him when it ISN'T homelessness and assassins guilds and running out into the streets at night looking for trouble. 

'but you haven't addressed anything for bruce to do' for Bruce to have to do anything we first need to get jason at the table. 'bruce beat jason in x comic/brainwashed him into an overactive fear response/almost certainly also something else' 

1. i'm choosing to say besides the throat thing that people hate (bc I get that. Bruce needs to say 'yes I was panicking and my writer was being dramatic I'm sorry' ) bruce doesn't beat his kids or any rogues in general once they're at a point they're no longer trying to kill/hurt anyone either. 

2. tbh I think the anxiety brainwashing is facinating and definitely something Bruce might have thought about but making it and using it is fully in 'I was also having a 3 day long mental breakdown' territory. However since Jason put a lot of heads in a duffle bag during HIS mental breakdown I think this might again be within 'yeah that was fucked up I'm sorry about that' territory.

Honestly I wish that Jason had gone to Bruce after the Selina 'making thieves pay 15% to charity' thing and they had just had the BIGGEST bitching fest about it with each other.  I think that, faster than literally any amount of relaxation and therapy, would have gotten them back on the same side. They need to get in a room together and just. Bitch about it. Jason saw the WORST adaptation the other day. Bruce is dealing with the MOST stuck up prick at the board meeting. 

Before they can fix anything they need to remember why they even loved each other. If they feel it again maybe they'll work to save it. But no one is going to fix a relationship where it feels like an obligation for a feeling you aren't sure even exists anymore.

Lil (long) simblr gratitude day post

I wanted to make a post shouting out some of my favorite creators, storytellers, and just general simmers from over the last year, mainly focused on ts4 since that's where my attention has been the most. Long post ahead so it's going under a cut. If you're not tagged please know I did wake up late today so it's not as complete of a list as I wanted it to be!!

@adelarsims - You are an essential in my mods folder!! I love how much realism and/or character your cc adds to sims, from things like the piercing holes to the wonky glasses to the mechanic overlay... Just so many little things that I can't imagine not having in my game or on certain characters now. Speaking of characters, your sims both original and premade are always so gorgeous, and I really enjoy your interpretations of wg and jeb. & Thank you for being WCIF friendly, I know it takes time to get that info but it's so appreciated, u've help me find some very beloved pieces of CC. Also the level of dedication u have to organizing your mods folder is incredible and you've inspired me a lot to get my folder's act together finally!! Which is SUCH a QoL improvement

@bearphase - I adore the bright legacy and I admire all the little details and effort you put into your posts, like fixing clipping issues, making icons and templates for custom careers or story events, ur creativity really shines through. You've also reminded me how fun NSB can be and inspired me to get back to it and my human enough gameplay and I can't thank u for that enough, it's got me sooo excited for future simming endeavors

While I've never been a sims 4 hater, like a lot of people I've still struggled with the gameplay aspect of this iteration, so it's been really inspiring to watch how you go about your game and immerse yourself in it, see all the care you put into your sims. I have to thank you for the videos you've made on it, like the one on how to make sims you connect to, season 1 of Lovesick where you went basically vanilla with the specific intent to show people how much you can do with imagination and what that looks like in gameplay! It's been literally game-changing for me lol and helped me to have more fun with my saves, even if they're not one of the rare few that starts out off the rails, I get more enjoyment playing it out until things do start happening outside of my control. & YOUR CC RECS!! I've downloaded so many of the mods you've recommended and I love how much they fill out the game. On the topic of Lovesick, I have not been able 2 get enough!! I'm so hooked lmao. Watching this series has really taken me back to the days when I was a teen reading like those particularly juicy drama-filled sims 3 stories you can't help but to keep clicking "next page" on, except Lovesick is so solid writing-wise. SO excited to see where Lizbeth is going in her life!!

@simandy - Your hairs have been an essential in my CAS folder for so long, and I've been so impressed with the evolution of your creations over the years. I've always liked your work but GODDAMN the quality always blows me away these days!! & I really, really adore and appreciate the variety! @squea - ANOTHER SORT OF LONG ONE BUT ... Your sims just POP!!! SO much character, and your edits and art r phenomenal. Corn is one of my favorite little digital guys I've had the pleasure of experiencing on line in all my years in the sims community reading stories and gameplay. If Cornelius has a million fans I am one of them. If Cornelius has ten fans I am one of them. If Cornelius has no fans I am no longer on the earth. If world against Cornelius, I am against the world. So on and so forth TBH you've also helped me have a lot more fun with the sims 4 talking about how you enjoy your game, and have a healthier mindset about my place in the community and connect back with the reason I made this blog in the first place, which was just to have fun and archive something I love, regardless of whether it got any attention or not! I started going MIA a bit post 2019 after really getting involved in the community, for Life Happens reasons, and naturally the lack of consistent posting for a while meant less eyes on whatever I came back to share. For a while I let that discourage me esp when a lot of effort was put into something, but after you posted about just genuinely enjoying ur game and loving what you made regardless of notes it made me realize what I was doing and helped me get back to that state of mind. Now whatever I make gets to matter simply because it matters to me, even if I post it at like 3am bc I'm so excited and no one ever sees it bc of that DHKDHKHSD. & I feel like I have u to thank for that!! U turned da lightbulb on

@warwickroyals - Ok so first off your clothing is a STAPLE in my folder for my more wealthy and/or fashion-oriented sims! And as for the Warwick Legacy? One of my absolute favorite simblr stories I've read. I still remember when I started it, it was pretty late at night so I was just planning on reading a handful of posts and then picking it back up the next day. That did not happen I could not stop. Straight up stayed up the entire night bingeing all the way to the latest post (which was the Big Phillip Thing. I had to get up from my computer to pace I was having a Moment LOL) I've got some catching up to do but so far I think that's been my favorite arc. Aside from that your editing is beautiful, and I've always been a character enjoyer so I'm in love with how much thought you've put into all of yours, and the fact we get to learn so much about them. I think you do a really good job of balancing the cast and I really dig your storytelling style in general.

fantasy series i love/are excellent/peak For Jess: radiant emperor duology by shelley parker-chan (point: is it fantasy or just historical-ish fiction with some supernatural elements? counterpoint: i fucking love it and this is my list). the lumatere chronicles by melina marchetta. the daevabad trilogy by s. a. chakraborty. queen's thief my beloved!!!!! piranesi aka one of the best novels i read in 2020. tortall series by tamora pierce (but protector of the small quartet is the best of them).

honorable mentions: the raven tower by ann leckie; sharon shinn's elemental blessings series isn't like, as sharp as the top tier, but i really enjoy every reread; earthsea (but mostly the ones about tenar); it feels like cheating to say discworld but again: my list; the divine cities by robert jackson bennett; the stravaganza books were not quote unquote good but they did change my brain chemistry when i was 13; goblin emperor books (but more witness for the dead bc u kno me, i love a murder mystery). lotr would be here except i read them all once as a 6th grader and have yet to return. i still need to read the oleander sword but the jasmine throne kicked ass.

ok what is the unifying factor here lol. strong world building is very important i think; a real sense of a distinct place and culture/mix of cultures rather than Generic Medieval European City. there was a really good post going around that was like, where does the food come from (aka have you thought about how all of this actually works?), and a lot of these series think about Where Does The Food Come From. differences in cultural norms among different groups within the world AND from the audience. plots strongly rooted in politics/the inherent people-ness of people rather than everything relying on magic (not to say i don't love me some magic/divine plaything stories!!!! but they hit so much harder when the conflict comes from a place of innate human foibles). a dash of wonder and the inexplicable. if an answer is needed, it fits in the schema of everything else, but you don't feel the author trying to answer literally everything (when an author is sweating to show their work u can tell imo). most of these have at least one set of people where i want to see them kiss on the mouth, but most of the time that is not the Point; the best fantasy for me treats romance as a subplot/b-plot where it informs the stakes but is not the stakes itself. and ur basics of a good book in general: good writing, good pacing, et cet er a!

what makes them fall flat? world building inconsistency; new magic springing up because well, the author NEEDED it (aka those moments when you can see the seams lol); when the romance is the a plot (sorry but romantasy = not for jesses!!!!!); i think also authors get tripped up both by not planning ahead enough AND planning ahead too much when doing series (if you get a deal for one than one book you should have more than one book's worth of material; however if you can’t change and move then you can be stifled! see ursula le guin revisiting the gendered magic of earthsea in tehanu years later, or tamora pierce going oh shit there are normies in tortall in protector of the small). also this is a ME thing but i fuckin hate purple or twee prose. fantasy does not mean break out the thesaurus.

BONUS: Tanjiro and Zenitsu confused as hell when they see Inosuke holding hands with the demon walking back to them 😂

Friend Or Foe?

Inosuke x Fem!Reader

A/N: This is my first time writing for kny characters so pls be kind with feedback if you have any ❤️

SUMMARY: Inosuke finds an unlikely friend.  OR

The request.

WARNINGS: fluff, mild angst, Fem!reader, demon!reader, mature language, maybe a tiny bit of tension, mischievous!reader, I think that’s about it, please tell me if I miss anything!

The cave is covered in fog as Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke make their way further in. An ethereal glow illuminates the crescent shaped moon as rays of white moonshine emanates the top of the mountain’s head.

“G-g-guys, this is getting really creepy!” Zenitsu whimpers, body ragged and trembling in fear. “Stop being such a baby, Monitsu!” Yells Inosuke, triggering the blonde even more. “STOP SCREAMING SO LOUD!! YOU’RE GONNA KILL US, YOU MORON” Tanjiro audibly sighs, turning to face both his teammates who were in a fist fight by then. “This isn’t going to work” He whispers, loud enough for Zenitsu and Inosuke to hear. “W-what isn’t going to work, Tanjiro?” Zenitsu asks in confusion. “I can smell two different scents … I think there are two demons here.” He exclaims. “wHaT!!! THIS IS BAD, THIS IS REALLY, REALLY B-” 

“I think we should split up.” Tanjiro explains 

“YEAH!”  “WE CAN’T SPLIT UP, THAT DEMON WILL KILL US ALL, AAAAAH!”  “it’s ok Zenitsu, you can come with me. Will you be alright on your own Inosuke?”  Tanjiro questions.

“I’ll be fine, Gonpachiro!”

Tanjiro doesn’t even get a chance to respond when Inosuke is already dashing past him, headed straight for the entrance of the cave AKA the wrong way. It takes a few seconds before the green eyed man comes running back, realising his mistake, and finding the right track to the demon he was to fight.

A forest of blood red crystals formed a small trail for Inosuke to follow. His boar mask was reflected through the many diamonds that sprung from the ground, like small crops. As the demon slayer strode through the diamond garden the more he began to feel like he was being followed. 

With a swift turn of his heels he spins around and almost bumps into the demon. 

Dangerous e/c eyes stared back at him, yet there was a sprinkle of innocence in them. Her skin was a clear s/c, but slightly paled, most likely from being a demon. She bared her fangs at him in a toothy grin, eyes glimmering in mischief. 

Inosuke cackles and reaches for his swords….Only, they’re not there-

“Huh?”

“Looking for something?” Sneers the demon girl, holding his swords in a reverse grip. 

“HEY!! THOSE ARE MINE!” Inosuke yells, pointing an accusing finger at her. “Can I have them?” She asks with a knowing sly smirk. 

“ABSOLUTELY NOT” He grunts. 

Her smile widens and she bolts past him, taking his swords with her.

Damn, she was a fast demon…

“HEY! GET BACK HERE!”  It didn’t take long for Inosuke to catch up to her, after all he was used to chasing Monitsu all the time.  He chased the demon to a dead-end, with only an unclimbable mountain above her. 

“HA! I WIN!” He yells as she stops running, realising her situation.  “Do you?” She asks with a quirk.  Without warning, the demon girl jumps in midair, but instead of landing on the ground again, a small rounded crystal path forms under her feet. 

“HEY, THAT’S CHEATING!”  As Inosuke starts to charge at her, she takes another step, and as if she were climbing a set of crystal stairs, another path formed under feet, as the previous one faded. She continued the same pattern until she was on top of the mountain that once towered over her. 

“NO FAIR!” 

With a mockingly sympathetic smile, she chucks two diamond daggers down. Surprisingly, when they hit the ground, they do not break. 

Inosuke picks them up in question, but quickly realises what he needed to do. 

With an all too familiar laugh he jabs one of the diamond dagger's into the mountain rock. Once again, it does not break. Must have some weird demon spell on it. Thought the demon slayer. He does the same with the other dagger, and slowly climbs up the mountain that way. 

He’s surprised to see the demon hadn’t moved from her place, when he finally reaches the top. 

“Took you long enough.” She blurts.  Inosuke clenches his fists. 

Finally, some challenge. He pondered. 

As much as the boar masked man hated to admit it, he was actually having a little fun…with a..demon.. 

she must have put him under a spell to like her, yeah! That’s what it is! 

“I don’t know what game you’re playing, but I will slay you!” He exclaims. 

“Then hurry up and do it..” She giggles, throwing both his swords at him

He catches them with expert precision and readies them in his stance. 

She lifts her arm slightly and a diamond sword constructs itself in her hand.

She swings the sword so it’s in a reverse grip, and positions her self in a defensive stance. 

He charges at her, without wasting a second. 

Their swords clash and ring through the crystal cave. 

Inosuke lifts his swords off of hers and went for her head, a little hesitantly…after all.. he kinda liked her.  She ducks the swing of his sword and kicks him in the stomach, sending him crashing down to the floor. 

She menacingly walks over to him and offers her hand, encouraging him to take it. 

Instead, Inosuke sweeps her legs and she falls to the ground as well. From there, the demon slayer climbed on top of her and readies his sword at her neck. 

“Go on.” She says, when Inosuke hesitates.

“Slay me, demon slayer.” She chuckles.  “SHUT UP!”  Why was he having such a hard time decapitating her?

He stays hovering over her for a while longer, battling with his own mind on what he should do.

The demon yawns from underneath him, admittedly getting a little bored. 

“I’m hungry..” she groans.  actually..now that he thought about it, Inosuke was getting pretty hungry as well..

His stomach lets out a low growl at the mention of food and she chuckles. 

“Lets go get something to eat.”  “What the damn hell do you mean?! Aren’t I your meal?!” 

“Naaa, I don’t like fur in my food.” She snarks.  “Hey! What’s that supposed to mean?!” He barks.  she snickers in response, enjoying every moment of this. 

It had been a while since she was treated like she was normal. 

“How about.. some tempura?” She asks.  Inosuke’s ears go up at the mention of his favourite food and he immediately gets off of her. 

“You like tempura?” He asks, completely intrigued with her now. 

“Of course.” She says with a smirk.  He’s silent for a moment, before-

“LET’S GET TEMPURA!”  ~~

BONUS: 

“So you have two friends named Gonpachiro and Monichi?”  “Yup, my turn now.” 

“Do you eat humans?” He asks.  “No, I’ve never eaten human before, I can resist the urge to by consuming human food.” She says with a faint smile.  “oh” he says as they walked through the cave.  “Hey! Is that your friends over there?!” She asks as two figures appear at the entrance.  Inosuke squints and widens his eyes when he realises it’s his teammates. 

“Yeah! It is!” He replies, grabbing her hand and running towards them.  “ITADAKI TONTARO!”  Tanjiro turns his head in absolute confusion. 

“ITS TANJI-” He cuts himself off when he sees Inosuke running with what smells like a demon.

“Inosuke…who’s this?” He asks wearily.  “OH, THIS IS Y/L/N Y/N.” He blurts out.  “She’s a….-”

“Demon, I know.” He finishes for him.  “We’re gonna get some tempura!” He yells before bolting off, finding the closest restaurant that sells what he wants.  Tanjiro and Zenitsu exchange looks of absolute confusion and horror (in Zenitsu’s case). 

What had their friend gotten into this time?

ooooh my beast headcanons? oh buddy. i think i've mentioned a lot of these before here but i'll summarize some of my major points and see if i think of anything else. this is long, so i'll put a read more to not clog anyone's dash up too bad!

i'll first mention what i discount, which is... mostly whatever chuuya's ending is with the chains and the freakout and whatnot. i ignore that. it didn't happen and cannot hurt me. whatever. anyway,

i've mentioned it a bunch before but i like to think that dazai's takeover of the mafia in beast was in the aftermath of the dragon's head conflict so its just... bad to worse, really.

one of my first posts on this account is an angsty tidbit on my hc that after dazai's fall, chuuya takes the scarf off the dead body. no he does not wash the blood off. that's just his now. do not ask him about the scarf.

dazai treats the mafia as a plaything. he needed a way to control as much of the dark side of yokohama as possible, and expanding the mafia was his easy route to do so. i believe that his major focus was taking out competing organizations, so they could never cause trouble for oda. dazai couldn't care less about the mafia itself, but it is a useful tool to him, so he made it powerful and ruthless.

consequently, i like to think that the ada in the beast timeline has a much easier job of things, honestly. ever since oda joined the ada, any major threats to it aside from the mafia itself just... mysteriously disappear. they see it as the city maybe getting better, or something, though to the whole of the ada the mafia is still a present threat, even if it... oddly avoids them, generally.

outside of his targeted projects, i don't think dazai does a lot of the actual running of the mafia outside from actually giving commands. he doesn't meet with executives often, he doesn't get as involved as one would expect. he gives his orders and he observes and outside of that he does fuck all. that's all chuuya, as his right hand/bodyguard whatever. chuuya is the one meeting with the executives, running the day-to-days, all except ensuring that the plans are carried out.

reminder that i ignore the canon ending of beast with chuuya in it. anyway. it kind of sucks that most characters end up with a better ending, except for chuuya (and dazai who is dead). no matter the universe, chuuya is in the mafia. which, we know he never really <i>wanted</i> to be boss, so it kind of sucks for him. but going along with my headcanon that its chuuya running much of the day-to-day already, it kind of pre-sets him up to take over as boss. dazai was always going to die, right? by making chuuya the face that the organization works with, when he ends up ascending to boss after dazai's death, there's no split loyalties, no one opposing the order. chuuya was already running the mafia and running it well to begin with, which makes the transition easier, i think. after dazai's death and chuuya's organizational loyalty, i think having to deal with dissenters would weigh on him. sure, he still has to be in the mafia. someone has to run the mafia to keep the city stable, that falls to chuuya, dazai knows he's the best choice. but at least he had the decency to make it easier, by not making chuuya deal with dissenters against him. (i do believe that during the takeover after dragon's head, dazai had chuuya's help in smoothing the transition and squashing mori supporters. however, chuuya didn't have to see that as defending his own right to run the mafia or anything, he would have been able to frame it as helping dazai and stabilizing the mafia. when its chuuya's own rank in question, the dissenters would be a real problem for him ((see: the sheep)) due to his loyalty to them. so by eliminating the probability of dissenters, it eases the transition).

back on the whole oda-protection thing. i kind of like to think that dazai, knowing how powerful atsushi and akutagawa are when they work together as he's seen it in other timelines, kind of ensured they both ended up in the ada because they are incredibly strong and, in their own ways, fiercely loyal and willing to prove themselves. they'd do GREAT at protecting oda after dazai is kaput. put them in the same organization so they don't get too distracted fighting each other? boom, powerful protectors of the ada, just like that. plus the added bonus of i think chuuya feels a little responsible for atsushi's wellbeing, knowing he was a pet project of dazai's at the very least, and would keep a light eye on the agency just to make sure the kid is doing okay, which kind of extends to the rest of the ada, as long as they aren't interfering in mafia business.

i'm sure i have more beast headcanons but this is all i can think of at the moment.

~Ughh why can’t i get at least one day off from the mess that my life is. I want to just bury all my stress underground and keep it there so someone else can be buried in it one day. I hate school so much! 😭

But one thing i don’t hate about school is my love 😍 , the only person i would ever come to school for.

Ugh pull yourself together y/n I can’t believe you were actually thinking about him that way. You have school to focus on right now, so there’s no time to be thinking about your classmate like that!

As i was looking at my timetable to see which class i was off to next, someone harshly bumped into me from behind, stepping on the heel of my foot and I hissed in pain. I whipped my head around furiously to see who decided to dampen my already miserable mood.

“Who the h…”

I was at a loss for words when meeting eyes with the supposedly blind suspect who clearly didn’t see me walking in front of them.

I thought i was dreaming but then again nothing good ever happened to me and i realized that this was the beginning of my worst nightmare.

It was Yeonjun, the boy who had broken my heart after chasing after my best friend whilst still being together with me.

I despise him, and never wanted to face him again but clearly fate was very much against me today. I vowed that once i was dead i would fight whichever god or superior being that was making me deal with this bs.

Author POV:

Y/n was extremely shocked and taken aback when coming face to face with her ex. But as well as being shocked she was more so pissed off with that fact that she had to face him after two months of successfully ignoring and getting over him.

( Yeonjun and y/n has lasted for 1 year, and they were the schools hottest IT couple, but they had to eventually break up due to the fact that Yeonjun just couldn’t keep his dick in his pants. They unfortunately left it on some negative terms)

Yeonjun smirked, seeing his cute little ex looking enraged in front of him.

He was never actually interested in her, only playing with her feelings due to the fact that most guys wanted her, which wasn't surprising as she was marked as the ‘cutest girl on campus”. He had no regrets in toying with her, especially after he’s now got her ex-best friend trailing after him like a lost puppy.

He looked y/n up and down with a sexy smirk and let out a low whistle.

YJ: “Long time no see darling. Looks like you’ve matured quite a bit”

Y/n instantly felt sick and uncomfortable and backed away, knowing that he was just a playboy and didn’t mean anything he said.

Y/N “ What are you doing here? Why are you talking to me?” She spat out instantly.

More students were filing into the corridors and classes were about to start soon, so y/n just wanted a quick answer and to then dash over to her next class.

Silence fell between the two and y/n widened her eyes, slowly realizing that he wasn’t taking the piss.

Y/n sighed in disappointment whilst walking to her locker. She just wanted to spend the next year focusing on her studies with no distractions but now she has her ex being the centre of her attention every day.

Wondering how long she had left till her next class, in dire need of a coffee, she looked at her watch and let out a loud gasp.

Y/N “ Shit! Theres only two minutes left and my class is on the other side of campus” she exclaimed with a cry, and started running to her next class. “ How am i going to get a seat next to him now 😭!”

She quickly held on to her books tight whilst running the 50 mile sprint all the way to her next class. She couldn’t miss the chance to grab a seat next to the love of her life!

Y/N POV:

Oh god, I’m late, where is he?

I scanned the room but Sunghoon wasn’t anywhere to be seen. I guess I should just get a seat before people try and sit next to me.

I bagged a window seat as i was in dire need of some fresh air. And settled down, leaning my head on my crossed arms.

‘I need to refresh, especially after that chaotic encounter with Yeonjun’

I-i…can’t be seen with him flirting with me, especially infront of Sunghoon.

I closed my eyes hoping to get some rest as for some reason the teacher still wasn’t here, when all of a sudden the girls sitting behind me started squealing with joy.

I guess ‘ The Great Ice Price Sunghoon’ has finally arrived.

Of course i wasn’t the only one who loved him. Girls were dying to be with him and boys were trying to be friends with him left, right and centre.

Sunghoon entered and one girl fell to the floor and started fake sobbing.

They made light conversation for a while, chatting about school work and their friends groups, when the teacher had finally arrived and the class started.

Class had ended and i stayed behind for a while to finish up some work, but when i entered that cafeteria, Sunghoon was nowhere to be seen.

I grabbed my lunch tray and scanned the room in a search to find somewhere to sit. It wasn’t that the room was full, it was more like I was looking for him or for somewhere where he would sit next to me.

Finally my gaze landed on his table and all his friends. I started to make my way towards it and I noticed he was sitting with a few people I hadn’t seen him with before.

Y/N: “Hey Sunghoon!”

Sunghoon swiveled around to see who it was.

He beckoned me towards his table with a welcoming smile on his face

SH: “ Hey y/n, come take a seat!”

I suddenly stopped in my tracks when the person sitting next to him turned around and flashed me a wide Cheshire Cat grin.

It was Yeonjun.

I quickly sat down opposite them, and he gazed at me with a mischievous smirk. I had a gut feeling that something about this was very odd.

SH: “ Oh yeah, y/n, this is the new guy wh-“

Sunghoon was then rudely cut off by Yeonjun

YJ: “ Don’t worry we’ve met before..”

I hate this guy so fucking much.

Sunghoons eyes were darting between me and Yeonjun.

SH: “ oh so you guys know each other already?”

YJ: “Oh ye-“

I instantly cut him off, not wanting him to ruin everything for me.

Y/N: “Oh yes, babe! I remembered him from when we used to go elementary school together this morning!”

I knew exactly what i was doing and it was working. I saw Sunghoons eyes widen and Yeonjuns smile falter a little.

YJ: “ Babe??”

Y/N: “ Oh yeah! Meet Sunghoon, my boyfriend”

I scooted closer to Sunghoon and linked my arm through his, whilst smiling up at him and hoping he would understand what i was doing.

I was so in love with him that I was happy with fake dating him just to get rid of my ex who would be in the way of me making this real.

I could see that Sunghoon was still in shock and i tried to mentally send him an apology.

SH: “I-“

Y/N: “ Well i hope you can excuse us Yeonjun, but me and my boyfriend need to go out for work, so see you around i guess!”

I hoped that Yeonjun would finally get the message and leave me alone once and for all.

I took a hold of Sunghoons wrist and hurriedly dragged him outside with me. He was still in visible shock, especially after we had just left our lunches there.

We reached an empty classroom and i took a deep breath before apologizing to him.

Y/N: “Sunghoon, I am so,so sorry! If you would listen I promise I had my reasons!”

Sunghoon didn’t reply but instead slowly moved towards me until there was barely two inches between us.

SH: “ Care to explain your reasons?”

My palms were sweaty and my knees were on the verge of collapsing due to the intense closeness between us.

I gulped.

Y/N: “Well the thing is, he’s my ex and ever since he moved up into our class, he just wont leave me alone”

Y/N: “ We were together for quite a while but we were clearly never happy. I never liked how he would stare at other girls and flirt with everyone who ever spoke to him, and he was way too possessive over me. In the end, he ended up blaming it all on me since i was the one with a pretty best friend, whom he couldn’t take his eyes off”

Sunghoon calmly and attentively listened to me rant about my past toxic relationship.

Sunghoon raised an eyebrow and his eyes filled with concern

SH: “ So Yeonjun is your playboy ex? And he was with me just to get to you?”

Y/N: “ I-i dont know about that for sure, but im pretty sure he’s only talking to me just to make me relieve these horrible past memories.”

I looked down whilst have a visual representation of those horrible time filling my mind.

Y/N: “Please Sunghoon, just pretend to be my boyfriend when we’re in front of him, and i promise I’ll do whatever you want me to”

I was desperate to cut Yeonjun out of my life. I wanted to never have anything to do with him. Even if it meant having to try and hide my true feelings for Sunghoon.

Sunghoon took a moment to think about it as i was anxiously waiting for his reply.

SH: “You..you will do whatever i say??”

I nodded eagerly.

SH: “ How long would we have to pretend for?”

Y/N: “Hmmm..not long, i guess until he finally gets the message and decides to leave me alone for good”

SH: “Fine I’ll do it but im only telling you what i want after we are finished”

I was filled with joy after the fact that he agreed but i was still a bit nervous thinking about what his condition could be that he wouldn’t want to tell me now.

Besides, I shouldn’t be nervous since now that we had both agreed to it, I wouldn’t give up until i had forever gotten Yeonjun out of my life.

SH: “ We just have to pretend to be a couple right?”

Y/N: “Yup, and we have to make it believable. By the way, are you sure you dont have any problems with this?”

SH: “ No not really, i just want to get you out of this mess”

He then pecked my nose and i was left feeling very taken aback. I could feel the blood rushing toward my cheeks and my whole body filled with warmth.

Did he really just do that even though he already knew how nervous i was before???

I could feel my face turning red and i was in a desperate need to get out of there before he could see.

Y/N: “L-Let’s go..”

Sunghoon chuckled at my stuttering and followed behind me.

After Sunghoon and y/n were done with their conversation, they headed towards the basketball court in order to spend their free period there.

Unfortunately, Yeonjun clearly had the same idea.

Yeonjun waved at Sunghoon, and y/n tried to make her escape when suddenly a strong pair of arm encircled her waist.

Sunghoon smirked and whispered in her ear.

SH: “What about our plan, babe?”

Y/n was blushing and Yeonjun started to walk towards the “couple”

YJ: “ Where did you two run off two after lunch? We couldn’t find you anywhere”

SH: “ Oh you know, just spending some quality time with my girlfriend”

Sunghoon then hugged her body firmly against his.

Y/n was a blushing mess and was mentally telling herself that there was nothing wrong about her “BOYFRIEND” touching her.

Yeonjun was clearly uncomfortable with the sight in front of him and excused himself whilst walking away with a sigh.

Y/n immediately removed herself from Sunghoons arms as she was about to mentally die.

Sunghoon also suddenly stood up straight now feeling flustered after not knowing what came over him during those few moments.

They both looked away from each other, not knowing that one of them was in love, but the other one was now falling even harder.

It was sunny in NYC, though the weather did not match the mood of the group of four currently trudging across the park.

They came to a stop once they reached a familiar spot.

No one said anything for a minute, because really what is there to be said anymore?

You were gone, dead. Sam and Tara had watched the life drain from your eyes, and it was a sight that would probably never fade from their minds.

It's Tara who breaks the silence, just as it was her who loved you the most, "She was just here."

Looking down at the grass, she hopes to catch some sort of evidence of where you'd existed. A loose string from the blanket you had sat on together, or even an imprint of your shared weight. Instead she sees nothing, because that's all you are now. You exist only in the memories she has of your short time together. And just as she lost you, she'd someday lose her memories of you too. The sound of your laughter, the tint of the blush that painted your cheeks, she'd forget it all.

The reminder of your loss hurts, but it stings even deeper because she is ultimately to blame for it.

Since the moment you choked out your last breath of air, Tara hadn't stopped thinking about the what-ifs. What if she'd never met you, what if she trusted you, what if she let herself free-fall into love with you? In all those scenarios, you'd probably still be alive, but the what-ifs didn't matter anymore.

You were gone and no alternate choice of hers that she thought of in the dead of night would ever bring you back.

A cry rips through her throat and her whole body shakes with the force of it. Her mascara trails down her cheeks for the millionth time since the paramedics had pronounced you dead.

If onlys would never be good enough for her, Tara didn't know if anything could ever be enough.

The only thing she knew was that you were dead, your life no more than the dash connecting your birth year to the one on your headstone.

You were dead and she would never get to apologize. To release the press of the unspoken words that weighed heavily in her chest. She would never get you back, and it was all her fault.

I wonder - and this has bothered me for a while - because it really does look like the phantom was trying to frame Clay for Starbuck's murder that never came to pass.

The case already has enough parallels to UR-1. Simon even points out that Starbuck's indictment is the inverse of his situation with Metis. Later, we find that the phantom planted Clay's fingerprints on the lighter while it was a gun. Hell, his most readily available disguise after Fulbright is Starbuck!

It really does sound like he initially intended to kill the man who survived his sabotage of HAT-1 and foiled his plans to leave the moon rock in space. But something went wrong; he must have assumed the one carrying the other astronaut out of the museum was Starbuck and killed him, only later finding out it was Clay instead. The room was dark enough and their helmets further obscured their faces, so it's reasonable he'd make that mistake.

Two problems.

1. He had a lighter on-hand. We don't know when exactly Clay's helmet was removed so that's up for debate, but it seems silly that he wouldn't have confirmed who's who by taking it off and shining the lighter.

2. WHY WOULD HE TAKE FINGERPRINTS FROM THE GUY HE JUST STABBED?! If the plan was to frame any one of the star-gazers for the crime, he would have taken prints from the one he didn't kill. Again, he has a lighter, he could confirm that fairly easily.

We know he was probably going to frame one of these two; he deliberately fired the gun when Cosmos showed up. The discovery of a gun on the scene with either of their prints would peg them as the mystery assailant. But it doesn't make sense if the one with the prints is already dead.

So we're left with two possibilities; either the phantom's an idiot, or he didn't initially intend for either man to die that day.

Again, this plan doesn't make sense if the one he took prints from karks it. Doing so intentionally with the intention of eventually presenting the bloody lighter would be, as described, make him an idiot.

It wouldn't be that bad a plan either, especially if it was Clay that was the intended scapegoat; he intentionally drugged Starbuck to help Cosmos' plan to evade the phantom go through. That combined with the bloody lighter would point to him intentionally sabotaging the mission. If Starbuck was stabbed non-fatally as assumedly intended, that would further reinforce the argument that Clay was acting with malicious intent (because again, WHY TAKE PRINTS FROM THE GUY YOU STABBED!?)

Of course, that's not how it went. Not only was Clay the stabbing victim, he died as a result and the phantom probably only found out after the fact with the autopsy report. Afterwards, his plan to destroy the rock & everyone involved in the case (not least of which Simon and Athena) fell through thanks to Tonate. That lighter was no longer a means of escape for him and he knew that Simon would get nosey if Starbuck's innocence was proven in court.

That's why he was so jumpy when Phoenix and Athena met him in the Space Station; he had no recourse and was backed into a corner thanks to a series of unfortunate events (unfortunate for him, anyways). The next best thing in his mind was to forge a slap-dash fingerprint analysis to get rid of the one person he later admitted to fearing from the first time they met since UR-1 - Athena Cykes.

With her out of the picture, there are no surviving remnants from that even that could save Simon and later expose him with the psychology report. Shame he underestimated just how driven she was to undo that event & Phoenix's turnabout bullshit that somehow always ends up being the truth.

Long story short, for this to even work out the phantom had to have not intended to kill either men in the Space Station that day. Heck, maybe he even thought to plant the remote detonator on Clay before realising his mistake.

I'm always a little wary of giving Dual Destinies a pat on the back for this sort of thing. Nothing really comes of it and we don't get to spend enough time with the phantom to see him as much more than a murder-man. This isn't Marlon Rimes inadvertently setting up the Captain's death so there isn't as much sympathy to be gained here, though I think some nuance could have been extracted from this after being built up as an inhuman monster.

Oh well.

hello it’s me and you against the world right now (dash is dead) and we’re already writing fanfic as it is so im going to ramble out my thoughts for my dnf telepathic bond au that i want to write. everything is the same and you do a brief synopsis of like bonds and how they work etc etc and i think i would make it so that bonds are like a soulmate thing and they snap into place the first time u touch ur soulmate. they’re not like super common but they’re also not super rare but like plenty of couples aren’t telepathically bonded and it’s pretty normal to not ever meet your bond mate and if u do and you’re like already married it’s even possible for it to be platonic or there’s ways to break the bond if u don’t want it. but anyways into dnf is dream’s parents would be bonded i think so to dream seeing that he’s always wanted a bond bc it seems like suck a good thing but George’s parents aren’t bonded so he doesn’t really care or see it as a big deal but dream has like a complex over wanting them to bond when they meet but not getting his hopes up and also I think I would integrate the concept of like different levels or depths of bonds. and dnf of course would have like the most extreme one. anyways pre meetup they kind of dance around feelings and are kinda sorta together in everything but name and then they meet and there’s so many anxious emotions and then they touch and the bond instantly clicks into place but it’s so overwhelming because of how high level it is and suddenly having each other’s thoughts and feelings enter their brains at full force when those thoughts and feelings are all anxiety and elation and everything else that comes with meeting just like. gives them both unimaginable migraines and you have to nurture newly formed bonds so suddenly they have to be in close proximity and touching or else they have headaches and there’s no hiding any thoughts from each other and it’s so scary to deal with on their first meeting but they sink into it and george of course loves and hates it bc literally living in dream’s head is his dream but also dream in his head able to hear all his doubts and fears and feelings no matter how he tries to hide them ? fawking terrifying . anyways also exploring them settling into this and dealing with adjusting to it and it helping them get their shit together and testing the limits of it and anyways . what are your thoughts on dnf telepathic bond au i just have always read them for hockey rpf and thought there needed to be a dnf one and then realized sometimes u have to write the fanfic u want to read
