Listened to Punish by Ethel Cain for the first time next to my best friend (fav person) while watching the fireworks display in our very small hometown. Crowd gets smaller every year. We both sorta felt like shit at first— BUT then the guitar crash/drone came in just as the golden fizzly fireworks did (they scratch my brain juuuuuust right). Embers fell down, still red and burning, and I remember thinking huh— this is what it’s all about.
