So there's this movie I vividly rember watching as a kid, but I only remember a few scenes and I don't remember the name.

Opening scene us like this little kid learning to read. Like this picture book and his mom and dad are driving a car in the front. The camera pans to his mom smiling at him, she says something idk what. The dad hits the break beacause there's this deer in the road. The car crashes into a tree in the middle of the woods.

The kid somehow ends up fine and manages to climb out, holding his book. He sees this beast, I think it was a dragon, and the dragon/monster is really nice and takes him in and takes care of him.

Boy grows up living in the woods with the dragon until people find him.

This is literally all I remember, but I want to re-watch this movie. I've been looking for years now, I remember watching it in theaters. Tumblr, do your then please.
