Reasons to ship every single version of MegOP
since Very Dumb Discourse™ exists about whether or not certain versions of this ship are valid, this is going to be THE most positive post about all versions of MegOP. refer back to this post for reasons to ship your favorite version of MegOP if anyone gets weird about it with you. now let us begin!!
G1: goofy '80s faction dads fighting each other in a denny's parking lot every week LET'S GOOO, that shit is fun as fuck. orion pax also totally had a celeb crush on megatron before megatron ruined that and shot him and his pals 😔 and there's a lot of angst you can add with megatron becoming galvatron and optimus coming back to life to see how much he's changed!
BW: it's the sheer fucking comedy gold factor of a newly minted college graduate and a terrorist dinosaur IMMEDIATELY singling each other out on a prehistoric rock and deciding to call their daily gang slap-fights the BEAST WARS, what iconic drama queens LMAOOOO. also, megatron made his final body in BM look like optimal optimus SPECIFICALLY to fuck with him, and that's just...incredible
UT: the fact that megatron CANONICALLY acted like a grieving widower over optimus after he died in armada is. amazing. never forget their absolutely insane obsession with each other that they can never EVER give up on played a direct part in unicron nearly ending the world <3
Bayverse: this is the one continuity of all fucking things that gave us the lore about megatron being prime's lord high protector. absolute galaxy brain writing from the tie-in comics. also these two would ABSOLUTELY have the messiest, nastiest, most brutal hate sex imaginable, and that's beautiful. <3
Animated: optimus being a rookie washout underdog and megatron being a super scary much older warlord is a really interesting and underrated fresh take on their dynamic! lots of fun to be had with exploring what their relationship would be like after megatron finally acknowledged him as his archnemesis, lol. also...age AND size difference ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Prime: do i even need to say anything, i'm pretty sure that one flashback still of orion and megatronus being friends is responsible for birthing a million shippers for this pairing alone LMAOOOO. the bitter ex-boyfriends energy was TRULY off the charts in this show, it's a damn shame megatron never appeared in RID15
Cyberverse: same bitter ex-boyfriends energy but this time with dates at maccadams. megatron also dies encouraging optimus to beat the unhinged alternate dimension megs AAHH THE ANGST
IDW1: they're both depressed gay war criminals in this one who CONSTANTLY live in each other's heads rent-free and that's amazing, lmfao. also, megatron becoming an autobot means this is one of the VERY FEW continuities where it's not nigh impossible to figure out a way to give these two a happy ending together in fanon
IDW2: space date space date SPACE DATE. they were falling together and everything. megatron also LITERALLY tells optimus to open himself to him...to give him the matrix...yeah megs my dude i'm sure that's the ONLY thing you wanted from optimus "opening" himself. toootally positive, lol
G1 Marvel: megatron was SUPER fucking pissed and weird as shit about the time optimus died over a video game. it counts
Dreamwave: their first fight had megatron urging optimus to join him AND they disappeared together in a space bridge explosion once which is like, a fanfic-esque setup for them to be alone. also i'm pretty sure this is the continuity where optimus accidentally gave megatron a lobotomy, so...uh...potential for angst is to be had
SG: mirror universe!! evil crazy villain optimus with noble goody-goody hero megatron has so much potential for absolute chaos. bonus if you also bring in the normal versions somehow through multiverse shenanigans <3
KP: the only way this version of prime can redeem himself from the creepy underage human girl bullshit is if he gets a good hard dicking from megatron. next
Prime Wars: huge "ex-husbands go on a road trip with their disgruntled daughter" energy here. megatron also LITERALLY says "oh optimus, if only you could see me now" <3
Earthspark: again...need i say why? they're pals and working together from the get-go, what's not to ship??
Skybound: optimus literally wears megatron's arm. truly beautiful <3
TF One: it's not out yet but give it time. the entire movie is going to be about orion and d-16 being madly in love and tragically breaking up, baby!!
#if you're wondering why i didn't include the wfc trilogy it's because those shows fucking suck and i hate them LMAO#transformers#maccadams#megop#edited after the fact to include the new comics lol

Heyyyy I replied to ur post with the idea about having blades be berserk too cuz he’s a carnivore? Just wanted to expand on it, I’m gonna sound crazy but I think after the whole incident for awhile his skittish nature would give way to aggression? Like outside of Dino mode instead of startling he just immediately jumps to aggression/survival and he hates it. Also I think it might make Optimus and blades closer through shared suffering maybe??? Also Im trying to brainstorm the team reacting to this… I need to hear your thoughts!!! Or not no pressure!
Here's More Dino Bot AU ideas inspired by this:
Blades' dino mode has talons on it, so when people jumpscares him, he jumps up, swipes at the mech like he's trying to claw them, and then flies away.
Blades uses his beak to help clean off the other Bots.
Their red eyes mode wasn't solved, they just now have a way to reverse it when it comes on. But, the Burns family still trains the bots every now and again with the bots in this mode. That way. If they ever turn accidently, they won't go berserk.
One time, an animal runs past Blades, and instinct takes over, and he bites it, killing it. He cried for a week.
Since Blades is normally jumpy, and is now jumpy with a set of claws and a sharp beak, they always announce when they come in the room to not jump scares him.
Since Blades is a carnivore, and carnivores eat meat, he has the slight urge to drink the energon flowing through mechs. He is ignoring this and it's freaking him out. The others don't know yet.
Blades uses his wings like a shield whenever the humans are in danger.
Optimus usually naps when in Dino mode. But is easily woken up by the other dinobot calls. He acts like a very worried and protective mother.
Optimus and the team do become closer as they learn to navigate being dinosaurs. Optimus let's Blade perch on his back whenever they go on long expeditions and carries him.
Blades becomes more territorial over things, and the other bots' reactions are like how Orion Pax reacted to D-16 in the TFOne movie during that one scene when D-16 gets his alt mode.
“Oh um, okay then. That's yours, got it.”
Or
“What the hell Blades, don't growl at me.”
Depends on the day lmaooo
Eventually, they have to pull Blades from the field for a few days while he gets used to his new emotional and behavior code. He's really sad and scared. The bots try to comfort him, and they are all pissed at the world for not being made to allow Blades to be his angry Dinosaur self lol.
This is getting long, so I'll pause here. I know I went a little off topic at times, lol. But I just love the dino bots and need to talk about them more lol.

So...
...
Let's talk about the rest of my Au's
I told you about dinobot Boulder from SG a.k.a Torture Bots and Sol Prime (Heatwave) from Rescue Prime Au (one of my fav impossible ships), but I want to talk about the rest of the aus
Torture Bots (Shattered Glass)
Like the normal Shattered Glass, but the team weren't rescuers.
All started when Chase, a police autobot with a sense of law as strong as his empathy (he's a sociopath) and Heatwave, a firetruck decepticon obsessed with Chase and with clandestine fights, decided to steal a sigma, one of rescue bots exploration ships, by accident they brought to Earth with them a dinobot because they knew how to pilot the ship (Boulder) and an idiot with memory gap and a great strength (it was a terrorcon but didn't knew) (Blades).
They end up on Earth by accident but decide to stay because the decepticon vs autobot shit didn't reach them up
Hightide and Quickshadow were two of the many bots who were sended to mute the four fugitives, but by themselves and with the Burnses help, could stopped them all before getting into more trouble, even when they discovered a ship with two sleepy passangers, Blurr, a fast but shy try of a racer and Salvage, big, strong and brute as a wrecker, kept them anyway. Sissi's still with autobots.
Maybe the Burnses (except Cody) are not the best people on Earth but the bots cared a lot about Charlie when he was a kid, Charlie wanted to do the same for them
Dungeons and Dragons
With a mediaval but steampunk view and Middle Earth vibes in this weird planet with TONS of magic: Boulder and Graham, wizards, but at what coast, had to make a travel across the Earth to get a great magic, but can't do it alone:
Charlie, the chief Sherrif of Griffin Rock, a portuary island full of the best technology and merchandise companies of all Earth, and father of Graham, decided to keep them company and help them on their mission, leaving the island with his daughter and son, Dani, a great swordswoman and Kade, a barbarian, and with Charlie's best partner at work: Chase, one of the few transformers who landed on Earth after the civil war and sherrif bot just like Boulder.
After some missions the group became bigger, adding Heatwave, an ex mercenarie of the Wavey triplet, Blades, a bard with a bad voice but good hand at instruments, Blurr and Salvage, a pair of thieves who wanted to learn magic and Sissi, Heatwave's niece and great at magic and combat.
The travel will be long, and the lessons hard to take, but the team will serve, save and protect the ones who needed, while Boulder and Graham reach their dream of become Magus Primes.
As a fun fact: the bots don't transform into Vehicules like the normal ones, they transform into dinosaurs, so, yeah, all Transformers are dinobots.
Rescue Prime
Heatwave was only doing his job at an emergency on Iacon, but cause of that, he became a the leader of a revolution and a Prime. Definitely not his best day but the people needed someone, the war needed a leader, his brothers needed an older sibling, and he needs to end the horrible system that hurted him so much before and now.
Sol Prime is on town, even if the Autobot Commander Boulder and the Decepticon leaders Megatron and Optimus Pax don't like it.
Soundwave and Shockwave left the decepticons a lot ago to became a part of Sol Prime's new team, with Chase, Blades, Hence, Bridget and company, the rest of Sigmas and Rescue Bots and the predacons. All became part of the Sol Prime's resistance.
While the Wreckers and Cybertron forcers are with the autobots.
Dinobots, and seekers are with Decepticons
But something is sure: this is a war that Heatwave never wanted to battle, he's not a soldier, he's a rescuer, like all his teammates, is not fair for them to fight like this, and of they're doing is because Cybertron don't need rescuers, it needs saviors.
This is a war of three, just like the war between Primus, Unicron and The Fallen, who wanted the power to change. What a pity for story to repeat in such a way
Sometimes they go to Earth for provision
But they will never let the rest to reach Earth, only with their dead bodies
Swap Team
Heatwave changes with Optimus Prime (so, Orion Pax is the rescue team leader on Griffin Rock while Heatwave is Sol Prime, leader of autobots. Orion is kind, shy and anxious but do his best to keep the team together, Sol is a great Prime, but as one he had passed through more a bot can deserve)
The same like on the original show and aliegned continuity... wait, this is not the same people, they changed places!
Chase changes with Quickshadow (Chase is an autobot spy and Quickshadow is the a simple police bot. She is a great police bot, and to chase people is fun, Chase's work is not fun)
Blades changes with Bumblebee (while Bee is an hyperactive medbot, Blades is a talentous and non talking scout, better for both, Bumblebee likes to fly and do great stunts, Blades is more of a ground warrior, excepth when people is about to die...)
Boulder changes with Hightide (while Boulder fought side by side with Sol Prime, Hightide stayed with Orion at the sigma. Boulder is one of the kindest bots at Sol's side, but is a kill machine on battle as a soldier needs to be, on land and on sea, Hightide never saw any of that, he's more of an engineer who likes to listen the waves)
Blurr changes with Salvage (Blurr is a kind sparked racer and inventor while Salvage is a rebel who likes attention too much. The normal is to see Blurr sit down on a quiet place with pop music and fixing some metal garbage meanwhile Salvage's kicking a metal pile because Orion yelled at him again)
Charlie stayed the same (I like him like he is, and he's the pilar of the series, if he changes, the rest would be hard to deal, but this time is with Quickshadow, both have their problems but she is a great partner and so does he)
Graham changes with Dani (now Dani is geek AND nerdy, and due to that, is hard to deal with an old grumpy man like Hightide, while Graham is a great pilot, best at math and best hands on town, just as the best smile, unfortunately for him, Bee likes to take too much risk at flying. He's the security guy, Dani is the "I'll talk with Hightide so he can help me do this crazy thing I want to do")
Cody changes with Kade (like the big brother Cody is best, but as a partner of such a scaredy cat like Orion is the worst, no matter how much he tries, Orion listen to protocol instead of listen to Cody. Kade is a crazy kid who just like cars, if it wasn't because he wanted a friend so much, the bots wouldn't stay long, and yes, Kade's a lonely kid, nobody likes the fact he likes beetles and worms)
Doc Greene changes with Morrocco (yes, people, Morrocco is a good guy, too curious for his own good and too lonely to grow up like a normal person, he had been alive a while and his only friend was Charlie, the only one who knows his secret; but Doc Greene is everything but Green, is mischivious, always with big and dangerous ideas and only cares about his tech, and his daughter)
Frankie changes with Priscilla (Frankie is more mischivious and more smart than Priscilla, as Greene's daughter, but is also a lonely girl, to be the daughter of a bad man who travels a lot makes hard to do friends. Maybe Priscilla is not as smart as Frankie but is curious and have an eye for wonder, and her charisma also is a great hability to easily have friends)
Madeline changes with Ana (Madeline is a great scientist, and yes, likes money, but is capable of keep a secret and loves more her daughter Priscilla, prefering to have a quiet life living at her submarine house, meanwhile, Baranova made her money on her scientist skills but more on her empresarial skills, that's why she made team with Greene in first place. Madeline and Morrocco are great friends, Ana and Ezra Greene are not)
Sissi changes with Servo (all teams need their fixers, that why Sissi is Boulder's best friend in her capybara form, she's capable of become any kind of tool Boulder needs. Servo is a human-kid-like bot and is as hyperactive as Kade, best friends, Servo can transform into a dog and into a drone, but his hands can become any tool you'll need)
Humanfomers: Kingdom of Light
Once upon a time, a king of old age who lost his sons and daughters on battle didn't have a heir, he was incapable of let his dear kingdom, great at magic and techonology and winner of the war he had to stopped by his own hand, to the sons and daughters of his council who died on duty, all inexperts and useless, so, he asked a witch about his future, and asked who he had to let his throne, the witch led the man to an orphanage, where a triplet lived, three kids of the same age and the same blood but different brains, a tiny but brave one, with the heart of a knight and the mind of a strategist; a big but shy one, with the voice of a turtle and the hand of a god; and the normal but anormal, with the eyes of a predator and the imagination of an eternal kid. 'The three are perfect,' thought the king, 'and the three will share my throne, my possesions, and my knowledge, the three will be my new sons, and in three, like Sun, Moon and Star will share the Astral kingdom, my kingdom of Light...'
Hector (Heatwave), Santiago (Soundwave) and Shelwin (Shockwave) were three kids, adopted by a king to became princes and then kings. As orphans and graceless they had a hard life with the King's Council but later gained they're position as kings the day their dear father became one with the stars. The three of them are kings at the same time but directed different things, Hector is on charge of military operations and forces, Santiago deals with magic and tech regulations and administrations, Shelwin cares about money and culture, the three of them had made a great job evading the stupid council's indirect attacks and dealed to take the kingdom to a better future.
Compared to the others, I created this Au to be some kind of Slice-of-Life with Reign, Ehrengard and Pride and Prejudice's vibes with fairies, pixies, kingdoms and a cool magic system so nothing on this have sense or relates to real King's things, is just the Wave triplet fighting like siblings while having lifes with their fellows and kids while trying to deal with work like functional adults JAKSJSJ, but as a resume of the family tree:
Hector (human, king, homoromantic) is married with Boulder (earth fairy, queen, transmasc and homosexual), their biological kids are Elizabeth 'Sissi' (earth elf, princess, ???), Horace 'Hotshot' (earth elf, prince second in line, ???) And Samuel 'Soil' (earth elf, prince third in line, ???). Their adoptive sons are Winfred 'Wedge' (human, Hector's squire, ???) And Salvage (earth fairy, Boulder's biological son, magus apprentice, aroace).
Santiago (human, king, bisexual) is married with Madeline (human, queen, straight), their biological kids are Rita/Rumble (human, princess, Fran's twin) and Fran/Frenzy (human, prince second in line, Rita's twin). Madeline's biological daugther and Santiago's adoptive daughter is Priscilla (human, Sissi's damsel and administrator apprentice)
Shelwin (human, king, homosexual) is married with Hizel 'Hightide' (water elf, commander, homosexual), his first marriage, and Serina (human, knight, pansexual) his second marriage [of convenience]. Shelwin has a triplet of baby daughters with Serina: Agatha, Veronica and Serina Junior (humans, princesses)
The rest are part of the cast but not part of the family itself, as I said, is a slice of life so it can be sometimes a comedy like Friends, so, yes, it's pretty stupid, but cause of it, it's my favorite Au by far

TRANSFORMERS: ONE
So...
Because of the popularity of this film that I kept seeing on my dash, over the course of weeks, I looked into it. I liked what I saw.
The slow degredtation of my mental defenses over the course of fan art and fan theory, wormed its way into my head slowly... then bursted, giving power to a thing that had for so many months, dried...
My legendary alt-mode: HYPERFIXATIOTRON.
Which meant looking up everything Transformers ever, and that's an awful lot of content (considering its 40 years).
I went the old fashioned route too, to watch the original Gen 1 Cartoon. I dived into ancient antediluvian history, from before the dinosaurs, when titans walked the earth and the gods were yet to be born... the 1980s.
And through the million years it took to get back to the 2020s, I looked up a lot. From theories, analysis, general ideas, eccetra eccetra.
So Ironically, I ended up getting insanely knowledgable (like the fragging geek I am), already have my years of analysis skills at ready, got my favorite character on the line (nobody would be shocked to who it is--Give you a hint, he's a Screamer).
And I am more than pumped to actually watch the film...
(spoilers below)
... and it turns out, I was overqualified and over prepared.
This film attracted me by its art. I loved the animations, the designs, the way the transformations happened, the sheer environments and scales...
And the character concepts! Love the idea of Prime and Megs being at the same job, being best friends with obvious character quirks. Pax is hyper goal fixated, Dee has dark humor and just sorta wants to live in the present. I get both sides too, I understand the motivations.
Bee? Funniest guy on screen.
And I love that Elita kept her take charge attitude.
( No romance plot, thank fraggin' Primus. )
( ... Well it might actually be a breakup bro-mance? Either way, its non traditional and i love it).
And the virtues behind it, the idea of message it tries to hold, its a good message and there are some good nuanced and thoughtful implications.
Plus, as a new fan nerd who spends most of their time just looking shit up anyway, I do love spotting all the references, background casts and more.
... But now for the (Decepti)Cons.
Because in such irony, By becoming a fan of TF, due to seeing the fandom of this film... I ended up, uh, realizing that the film has some pretty mortal flaws.
Go figure--you stumble across the thing, the thing inspires you to do things, and then you come back to the thing, and it falls under the weight of all the wrong.
... wow my journey into Transformers is just like the film plot...
Dat's kinda cringe.
One). Its too fast, too packed
In fact, its continued the lovely recent trend of films and shows, of utterly destroying its pacing and packing WAY too much stuff in. Now its not nearly as bad as some of the comparisons I can make... But a fail is still a fail.
Its a Show that's trying to be a Film. Its got all this world, this message, these characters, and its trying to fit it all in all at once, and it doesn't work.
It's ultimately rushed. Period. That's not gonna be an argument, if I have to pull an 20 something-minute episode of the OG transformers cartoon and point out why it has better pacing, or why the BAY FILMS have better pacing, then it has failed the test.
A film does not need to be one continuously long Tiktok Compilation.
Action is hard to keep up with akin to the first Venom film.
Our main characters, the boys, Megs and Primer, for being the main characters, they sure don't explain themselves very well. Its not clear how they reached certain conclusions beyond "the FILM NEEDS IT HERE BECAUSE TRADITION".
We don't see why Megs goes immediately down hill, there's an impression of vengeance, but it kinda disconnects. We don't see him as having a temper or prone to violence, just kinda making dark jokes, but he's still helping people. Self-centered, but with good reason.
Worse, Primer's is actually just as bad, if not worse. While we do see he has his long term goals and care of people in general, there's this odd disconnect. He's not really seen interacting with anyone else to warrant the kind of welcome-with-arms he got near the climax. Not in this story about systematic cynicism.
( Maybe it was done for the VA's impression of old Optimus Prime.)
There's implications of values and attitudes, but eh... its kinda drowned out by the sheer packed nature of the film trying to be a top 5 youtube compilation, and by the sheera mount of characters doing a lot of talking but not a lot of saying anything.
( The literal only time the film slowed down to explain itself like a normal film, was when Starscream came on screen. That was it! And then the action picked up and the pacing was ruined for the rest of the film. Not even Alpha Trion had Starscream's Scene pacing. )
I've already had enough with the Rush Time Story stuff that keeps popping up. If I catch it, I will fail it vibe check immediately.
If the directors and screen writers try to justify their work like this--I will no longer trust their capability of making films or media in general.
RECOMMENDATION Because deconstructive criticism is easy and all too common online, I will also add improvements. No point in destroying something if you don't know how to improve on it later.
"Make it a 5 episode series". Explore the environments, allow the characters to breath, get arcs going.
TWO). Bad Character Placement
Now I know Transformers loves to redo its stuff every show, every game, every comic. And that's okay, that's fine. Its a Hasbro thing, gods knows MLP does the same deal. Its all backed by Toy marketing.
But, unlike MLP, there are consistent character archetypes in TF.
And TF:One well... it has an interesting idea, with both good calls and very bad calls.
I like TF:One's Bumblebee... but that Dude ain't as old as Megs and Primer, sorry. He's the kid's bot, the sidekick, always has been, so this films' implication means his placement is... well, not a great one.
RECOMMENDATION: Why not replace with Dion, or y'know, Ultra Magnus, who explicitly is intertwined Optimus' history? Y'know, the actually BADASSATRON.
Elita is actually in Ironsides' place. Drill Sergeant, long history with Optimus, same deal. Which in this case, isn't a bad thing for this continuity. Elita has a long TF history of kinda written screwy or being screwed over (Its that historic Hasbro "THERE CAN'T BE GIRLS IN TRANSFORMERS"). ... Which makes it really weird that Ironsides actually does appear in the film.
RECOMMENDATION: If you're gonna replace Ironsides, actually replace him. Or maybe just fuse the two characters together for this contiuity-- Ironside Elita sounds fucking AWESOME.
Starscream has never been older then Megs. Look, just, no. The dude probably inspired Papyrus Undertale, and this film wants to tell me that he's actually the former head of TF's version of the local Brotherhood of Steel.
The guy was a fucking Scientist, and when he wasn't a scientist, he was being Blue from Pokemon Gen 1--Arrogant enough to either want to hug him or deck him in the face, either way, its gonna be a fun game.
RECOMMENDATION: How bout we have Starscream as the fifth member of the main cast, as a counterweight between Elita and "Bee", and to act as parallel to Primer (just as Elita acts as parallel to Megs... or at least, is supposedly supposed to be). Let him be the lil kid, or at least, the grumpy nerdy teenager.
And the character they meet instead, is actually a surviving Prime leading the High Guard. Saves on pacing.
Why are Shockwave and Soundwave there? Their attitudes in this film, are more befitting of Skywarp and Thundercracker.
RECOMMENDATION: Return to Source Material.
RECOMMENDATION 2: Never use popularity and familiarity as a reason to throw a character in the wrong place. Understand the materials present first, before you knit a mess instead of a quilt.
THREE). Messages require Communication
Yes, the idea of putting Primer and Megs as starting in the same place is brilliant.
Yes, the criticism of a enforced class and caste system is merrited.
... But you kinda have to discuss it first, rather than making a lot of quips.
Characters are just that, they're objects. In order to sustain your message, your characters Have to talk, beyond the quippy one liners, so that the Audience can keep track.
Subtly only works when the scene isn't Subtle. Example; Watching a character sneaking around, isn't subtle --because if you did it in real life, you'd look stupid-- but the story makes it subtle by portraying them sneaking around, having quiet music, and using sneaking motions. It works in visual fiction, because it is Visual and Theatrical.
The film is too packed to have Visual Theatrics beyond the 'THEY DID THE THING". Oh some stuff here and there works, but the rest of the film is still there and the pacing is still bad.
FOUR). No breathing room.
This is specifically against American Media, because it is the Worst Offender--but you gotta stop trying to pack every scene with everything imaginable, its STRESSING.
Its Detressing, its anxiety inducing, its confusing, and yeah, the Rush feels good the first time, but it makes unwatchable the second time.
Slow it down, allow quiet moments, let the characters talk, let us see the Environments and hear the music.
Overclocked and Jam packed is NOT GOOD FOR YOUR BRAIN. This is what BRAIN ROT IS. It destroys your patience and your focus.
And i gotta tell ya, as someone from the late 90s early 00s TV generation--TV and Films did not used to do this shit, or if they did, they were considered BAD.
You want peak? Look at a Ghibli Film. You want other examples that aren't akin to godmoding? Star Wars New Hope. Last Unicorn, Watership Down, the fucking YELLOW SUBMARINE--which is literally just a film long music video that inspired music videos, and it was still awesome-- Shrek. Toy Story.
The Steven Universe Movie. Secret of Nimh. Ghost in the Shell.
There are beyond a Myriad of films to follow, to know what good pacing and good breathing space and clear communication, looks like. Decades of examples.
And this ain't it.
And there's no reason for it.
CONCLUSION:
I guess I prefer the fan hype over the real deal, and seeing clips over watching the film, because... this ain't a film, this is a TV show draft that got its 1st season canceled at the last minute and they complied what they could.
Still though, the art, animation, voice acting, and concept is good.

There's a certain brand of existential dread you get when you're both a transformers fan, and someone who is pursuing a career in evolution based paleontology. I'm used to working in MYA, but only occasionally does it hit home just how significant a million years is, and how insignificant a single year must seem.
In several continuities, it is canon that the Great Cybertronian War is four million years. (Yes, I know that the number is merely how long they were in stasis in G1, but in other series that number is often taken at face value. Remember, every series and continuity plays by different rules, and often wildly different time scales) I severely doubt that it is four million sharp, as a lot of the canon Cybertronian time units do not divide neatly into human ones, especially so the larger ones. There are often characters who were considering to be old at the beginning of the war that are still around, occasionally with very little change in voice or appearance. In the aligned continuity, all the energon that's found on on earth is derived from energon caches, which i could only assume were stored in a medium that has since deteriorated/decayed before becoming the crystalline structure we see now.
Though, in the aligned continuity often they'll refer to an event from a mysterious third person view when later it's proven that the characters themselves had been there to witness it or play a major role. Or, how they treat the predacons fossils on earth as we'd treat dinosaur fossils, even as it's common knowledge that these fossils were from specimens explicitly cloned by Shockwave and that all of the Autobots would be much older than these mechafossils. You could argue with a Prometheus ship focused philosophy that none of them are really the same mecha as the ones who start of the war, but in the way how let's say I'm not the same person as I was when I was seven. These robots are very, very old. But, what is even old when you look at geological time?
Modern homo sapiens have been around for roughly 160,000 years ago. The earliest known hominid is estimated to be 5.8 MYA. The neolithic era, known as the agriculture era, was around 12,000 years ago. The oldest known dog remains are around 33,000 years. The last known common ancestor between the "small" cats and "large" cats is dated by genetic data at 6.37 MYA. A hippo and a whale have 50 MYA difference between them. The chicxulub asteroid hit the earth 65.6 MYA. Flowers evolved 130 MYA ago. It's a common "fun fact!" that sharks are older than trees at 450 MYA versus 360 MYA.
There are caves in the Appalachians, where i live, that are so fucking old that there are no fossils inside of them— they are quite literally older than most if not ALL life on earth. Sometimes I'll look at the timescales of Cybertronians and wonder how the hell a species with MYA long lifespans like that could evolve within 13.7 billion years. But then you remember that a billion is a thousand millions. A million is a thousand thousands. A thousand is a hundred hundreds. A hundred years is a human lifespan.
Cybertronians are marked by how adaptive they are. You'd think that, since they rely on asexual reproduction in canon, there would be far less opportunity for change (since in science sexual reproduction is considered the more randomized and mutation prone method, which is what fuels evolution and change) but time and time again we see great amounts of individual change in the creaton of newer transformers. Hell, we see many drastic frame changes and psychological changes occur in a single evolution, sometimes to the point where they really Can't be considered the same person anymore (such as Orion Pax becoming Optimus Prime, or Megatron becoming Galvatron) We have significant evidence that mecha created before The Cybertronian War, during it, and after it are often massively different from each other. Pits, in transformers Earthspark, it goes deep enough that the mecha created after the war are canonically a different species than the ones who started it.
Do you know how fucking significant that is, for one species to start a war and a different one to begin in what must seem like the blink after the end of it? Though, especially now in 2022, i kind of get just how much things can change in a short amount of time. Youtube, a platform that has by far been the majority of my childhood, was created in just 2005. There are people of who are old enough to vote who have never used a flip phone or a landline. High fives were invented in 1977. In 1971, only a quarter of american households had a microwave, and by 1997 that number had risen to more than 90%. It took us longer to get from bronze to steel than it did to go from steel to fucking nukes. It only took 66 years from the invention of the airplane to the moon landing.
So... so fucking much can change in a short amount of time, and time is so long. Humans that live a hundred years could build a modern civilization in 12,000 years— a mere 120 lifetimes. I'm going to assume that their initial species, as in canon it's considered that they were built by organic species initially, started at a similar point as we were those 120 lifetimes ago. We aren't quite sure just how long Cybertronians live, or even the exact ages of the main characters. I saw in a fanfic, a bayverse fic actually, that the Cybertronian lifespan is more or less 12 MYA. Now I fragging know that's a number they pulled out of their ass, but it sounds like a good number, considering how the younger mecha are considered to be roughly the same age as the war. It just sounds like a good number, and I'm going to roll with it. Now I'm going to Fucking Lie for the sake of simplicity and pretend that in this little analogy that it's a 1:1 birth/death replacement rate just so i don't blow my brains out. If it's a generation per lifetime, that gives us the number of 1,440 MYA. Or 1.44 billion years.
If you ask me, in a universe that's 13.7 billion years At Least, 1.44 Bil is a surprisingly fitting number for the million year robots
#you never realize just how fucking //new// day to day stuff is sometimes.#long post#transformers#tf worldbuilding?#paleontology#cybertronian biology#sort of#this post is literally tangent after tangent#tw existential dread#but I also put some positive twists on it#btw this post took around two hours to make because of constant googling and typing and little contemplations#bullshit calculations in the last paragraph

about me:
I'm raven/pax and I'm an alter in a system. Bodily were a minor, but as an alter I'm an adult. Treat me as a minor, like my body age.
I regress to 1-8 typically, normally voluntarily. I like dinosaurs, kids cartoons, reading, going outside and agere fanfics! I've recently bought my first paci, and I'm looking to one day get a deco paci and onesie.
This blog is for me to talk about little space and share little space related content! I'd also love to make more agere friends, so please interact.
I don't baby talk over text in littlespace, but I'll tag posts when I'm regressed with #a baby raven to provide some context.
I'm going to add some userboxes and make this more aesthetic but for now hi! It's nice to meet you all!

Hey! Happy Storyteller Saturday! ୧(^ 〰 ^)୨
((If you participate, of course. if you don't, consider me a new follower who would love to get to know you and your writing more))
I'm new to your writeblr, so as a soft way to get to know more about your writing, can I ask you to describe one (or all!) of your WIPs in a few sentences? OR perhaps, badly summarize your WIPs in a fun way?
from @bloodlessheirbyjacques ✨❤️
thank you @bloodlessheirbyjacques ! welcome to the madhouse! let's see here, summarizing my wips in a few sentences!
Groundhog Day: my longest running wip has been on haitus, but it's coming back this next month! this is a fantasy story set in two parallel fantasy worlds, one already ravaged by war and the other on the verge of it. It's going to take the unlikely friendship of Blue, a world jumping paladin scientist, Red, a paladin whose lost his magic, Locke, a knight in training, and Bolte, the general of a fallen world, to try and stop the Queen from destroying all of Fara!
Coaltown: The first draft is finished! Woot! Working my way through the second draft now! This story follows a group of friends who go out to a trapper cabin in the Alaskan wilderness for a week of fun, only to accidentally stumble across gorehounds - monsters born from a cursed gold mine. But when one of their friends goes missing, they'll need to do more than just survive the night. They'll have to make decisions that will change their entire lives.
Southside Circuit: you can check it out here @southsidecircuit! This cyberpunk racing story follows the drivers of the Southside; from newcomer Henley and his android 'babysitter' Pax, to the experienced driver Ezra, and his mechanic boyfriend. But it's not just the races they have to worry about. It's also the mysterious going on's of the Black Building, and how it's affecting AI's all over the city.
and I'm gonna use this as a way to introduce a few of the newer wips ive been dabbling with offline, too!
Drinks On Me: after his parents purchase a foreclosed on house out on a private beach, Kit finds himself stuck playing clean up. Luckily, his friends don't mind coming out to help liven things up. The two locals are pretty cool too, if a little odd. It's actually the kind of life Kit could get used to - at least until party night comes around, and they get some party crashers of the blood drinking kind.
and then i have a collection of ideas that don't have names yet, but that i'm really trying to get sorted out so i can do something with them! one's about dinosaurs, ones about fae, and one's about, uh, deer monsters! but they don't have titles or a set named cast yet!

Proof that the Autobot Way is Flawed
Now, before I start exploring this Transformers theory, I want to make it clear that I do not think that Autobots are secretly evil. You can be part of a flawed system and be a good person. Heck, you can be part of a flawed system and even be aware of how flawed it is. Autobots have long since proven that they are good, well meaning people who want to keep their society clean and want to do good for the world, but it is NOT a perfect society. It has flaws that are glaring, feudal and in fact holding Autobots themselves back. And there are many instances which show that the Autobot way has flaws. Also, many of them are from Animated which I give honours to @auraturner for bringing up in her article here as many others did too. Here they are;
If you want to live in an Autobot society, you MUST identify as an Autobot yourself or you are not truly a part of the society and cannot live among Autobots. - Ever noticed that on Cybertron, EVERYONE identifies as an Autobot? And I recall in the G1 series, when Spike and Carly were given the ultimate honour among Autobots, what was this honour? Being called an Autobot. In other words, they were not true allies or equals up until that moment. While we would find being an Autobot cool as a kid, as adults, this feels off and kind of disturbing. Then there was the issue of Jetfire in G1. Why should he HAVE to be an Autobot to prove that he is good? He was good even when he identified as a Decepticon! He could have kept being a Decepticon and just fight alongside the good guys. What if a Decepticon wants to continue being a Decepticon, but just doesn’t agree with tyranny or Megatron’s way? What if a Decepticon was a good person, wasn’t even a fighter, had no criminal record and only wanted to live a quiet private life on Cybertron? Unless that Decepticon is willing to change their faction, the Autobots will deny them the right to live on Cybertron.
They have no trouble conscripting and imprisoning kids. - While we find it cute that Bumblebee is a young teenager, this implications here are actually very dark. What is a teenager that young doing in the army and going to war? Also, in the Animated series, Wasp was arrested and sent to the stockades and he was no older than Bumblebee. This is not ok. You do not give a kid and adult sentence.
Autobot society works almost like a hive mind or at least under the thumb of the Prime. - While Optimus and Rodimus were good and kind Primes who care deeply for others and allow personal freedoms, a large majority of the Primes were not like this. It is implied that Autobot society is a borderline communist society in which everyone plays a role to keep the system as it is forever and it is very rigid towards new ideas and such. This is why Megatron resorted to war in the first place. Nobody would listen to him. They listened to Optimus (as Orion Pax) in Prime, but the problem with this is that Megatron knows the problems better and knows the solution cannot be negotiated. Optimus doesn’t get that because he hasn’t walked in those shoes. Might I also add that the Autobots shot and used aggression first when Megatron start proposing change. That doesn’t look good. Moreover, you all have to believe in the same thing without question. Nobody is allowed free speech and speaking out against the Prime is considered as stepping out of line and if you question the Autobot way or point out that it has flaws, you will be accused of heresy.
While the Autobot faction came to be, their ancestors deleted a lot of the records. - This chilling fact is official in the actual Allspark Alminac. I don’t think I need to say much on this one. Anyone who throws away part of their own history is obviously hiding something.
Autobots have no respect for other factions or beings. - While the Autobots showing a lack of respect for the Earth or Decepticons is played off for laughs, such things are actually quite despicable. When Autobots mine for energon rather than produce it using alternative sources (like the Decepticons did in G1), it does a heck of a lot of damage to the planet. And you know what else does damage to Earth’s property and environment? The Autobot’s war and often at times their own clumsiness. I recall one episode in RID where the Autobots carelessly destroyed and entire golf course in seconds while duking it out amongst themselves and while this moment got passed off for comedy, I didn’t find it funny. It takes a lot of work to set up a golf course and even more to build a building, make a car and don’t get me started on how many injuries bystanders can endure. It is any wonder Prime’s Agent Fowler didn’t like them? I would be mad to if I gave amnesty to people who showed a lack of gratitude through a lack of respect for my home. Also, since the days of G1, the Autobots have mocked and objectified their prisoners either by taunting them or by taking pictures with them. Moreover, Autobots call Decepticons racist terms like “Con” or “Decepticreep”. I have never seen a Decepticon mock a captive except for Starscream and Megatron chastised him for it calling him childish and saying he shamed himself. Also, I have never ever heard the Decepticons call the Autobots a racist slur. Heck, Autobots including Optimus himself have used the term “Decepticon” as another word for “evil”. I also want to throw out there that Autobots do not take prisoners very often nor do they show a lot of mercy. Yes, Starscream is a sadist and a half, but the other Decepticons will not kick someone when they’re down or kill if they don’t have to. In fact, sometimes, their honour drives them not to. As for Autobots, they are not so nice and sometimes, even the noblest ones (including Optimus himself) have been known to take getting even too far.
They do not allow alt mode autonomy. - If you don’t know what that means, it means you are not allowed to choose an alt mode you want. It has to somehow relate to your job or the Autobot way. I know this is all fiction, but wouldn’t the right to choose which alt mode you want be a form of bodily autonomy? And how does your alt mode relate to your job especially when you can only do your job in robot mode? We see Autobots sneak this lack of letting a bot pick and choose the alt mode they really want even in Rescue Bots. When Blurr and Salvage join the team, he takes them to a hanger full of vehicles that are exclusively trucks or automobiles of some kind. In other words, everything four-wheeler. And even in Rescue Bots Academy, this sneaky tactic of guiding the bot’s hand towards a specific alt mode is still there. The bots play up how much the recruits admire them and almost all of them choose alt modes that are similar to their teachers. In the episode where Hotshot choose a fire truck, if Heatwave was a bigger bot, he would have encouraged Hotshot to stick with the rocket like he wanted to be because there’s a reason he wanted to be that and he already changes into a four wheeler of some kind. I think Autobots only allow dinosaur forms because they have proven to be useful, but if you compare the amount of diversity of alt modes among Autobots to that of Decepticon, it’s a night and day difference. I mean... they allow a warrior Decepticon to change into a CAMERA (REFLECTOR) and no one mocks or judges the guy. Now that I look at it, how many Autobots out there change into things that are not trucks or automobiles? Not many. In fact, even Blades wasn’t originally a flyer. It worries me to think what would have happened if a jet flew by in the air and Blurr requested to change into it as it is fast. Or if either he or Salvage didn’t like any of the trucks or automobiles.
They delete feelings and memories. - This is just creepy and the more I think about it, the more it frightens me. A society that considers amnesia acceptable as way of coping with trauma makes me think this society is very crooked and only looks at short term solutions. Not to mention, the concept of dealing with problems is by forgetting them is also telling. It makes me wonder if they apply this as a treatment for all trauma victims or anyone they consider as a heretic. And by any chance, do they use this as a means of ensuring that a former Decepticon becomes a proper Autobot? Holy cow, this is scaring me... And it’s making me wonder how many Autobots were actually once Decepticons, but even they themselves don’t even know it because their entire identities were deleted?
They don’t allow misfits and freaks. - The most disturbing aspect of all. All Autbots are physically perfect and none are beast types with the exception of the Dinobots who are also deemed openly as the exception. I also don’t notice many handicapped Autobots with the exception of Fixit who became handicapped after his accident. I highly doubt he would have gotten a job if he was handicapped from before and even currently, he is treated like an invalid even though he isn’t. They won’t even allow him to fight or inform him of his fighting capabilities even after discovering that he can hold his own. As for Decepticons, you will see tons who do not fit into some perfect mold or have ailments like having psychological issues or other handicaps, and most importantly, you’ll find diverse beast types. It is not for nothing that a large majority of the misfits of society rebelled against the Autobot way. The Autobot way outcasts the flawed and imperfect.

Dark Cybertron Chapter 6: This Sure is a Comic I’m Reading.
The Dinobots are chilling out by the standing Titan, because Slag went and got his ass kicked by the super death wave a few issues back.
Excuse me, Slug.
There’s real-world context for this change- you see, in England, the word “slag” is often used as a derogatory term. Specifically, it’s either used as a stand in for “prostitute” or “whore”, or in more of a generalized “I greatly dislike this person” sort of way. It’s typically aimed at women, which is likely why Arcee said something to him as opposed to anyone else.
This little exchange is interesting, since Dark Cybertron Chapter 6 was published in 2014. Our boy Slug here first showed up in the original cartoon, back in the 80s, and was in the Marvel UK comics, where they didn’t change his name. A good portion of the IDW creative team, including 50% of the writers for this event storyline, are also from the UK. Seems like someone finally got sick of calling a whole-ass robot dinosaur a slut.
Not that there’s anything wrong with enjoying casual sex, or being a sex worker, but slapping labels on other people without their input is sort of a shitty thing to do, especially when you’re doing it in a franchise typically aimed at younger audiences, and with a surprisingly large following in the UK, where that term is used.
Anyway, while this conversation was happening, the Titan moved, and when it did, it kicked up a shit-ton of dust. Astrotrain, who is laying off to the side with his legs and an arm off, offers Swoop his binoculars. When asked why the hell he has binoculars- which doesn’t seem so strange to me, given that they’re standard military equipment in a lot of places- he tries to explain that he’s got shit eyes, and didn’t want Megatron to know about them. This would be an interesting glimpse into the inner workings of the Decepticons and how they view disability, if Swoop actually gave a damn.
But he doesn’t.
So it’s not.
Swoop sees with his special eyes that the guys who went down into the Crystal City have escaped, and are currently trying to outrun the Titan, and also the title of this issue.
Watch out, that typography’s gonna fuckin’ get you!
The Dinobots start firing on the Titan, which does fuck-all, and Prowl yells at them to head for Iacon, since that’s where the Titan’s going. Bumblebee, Skywarp, and Megatron are revealed to be MIA. Bummer.
Over on that weird water planet the Lost Light landed on a few issues back, the Rod Pod gang have puttered into Metroplex’s eye socket, and are currently making a Fantastic Voyage. Getaway asks where the hell Metroplex’s eyeball got to, but nobody has an answer for him, least of all Metroplex. Strange happenings on this weird water planet.
Ratchet gives everyone the skinny on Titan physiology theory- thank god he came along on the trip so I could at least get a little lore to feed my brain through this slog.
So, Metroplex’s spark could actually be out right now. Even though the lights are still on, that doesn’t mean anyone’s actually home, because the power of his spark needs time to actually travel through the body, and it needs a lot more time than the average robot, because he’s just so goddamned big. Humans also need time for their animating force… or, uh, blood to travel through the body. This is why we have a pulse. If it was instantaneous, we wouldn’t, but we’d probably also explode, because our squishy little bodies wouldn’t be able to handle that shit.
The gang starts scanning for life signs, even though they’re not even sure if they’ll be able to pick anything up. Brainstorm theorizes that the water could be causing degradation to Metroplex’s body. Getaway is still stuck on the Rod Pod existing. He’s having a moment. He’s been having a moment, really, ever since he saw the damn thing.
The results from the life-scan come in, and it looks like Metroplex might actually be okay, because there’s a blip for everyone in the Rod Pod, plus one! Hooray!
Nobody tell them about the hanger-on who’s basically glued himself to the ass of the Pod. We’ll let them have this little win, if only for a moment.
Ratchet suggests they head for the brain to check things out. Brainstorm reads back the report on the water sample he took, holding his data pad as precariously as he possibly can as he does. There’s admium flakes in the water. Nobody knows what this means, so they try to call Swerve, who is a metallurgist, for his professional opinion. The call goes to voicemail. Pity, that.
The fellas show up at the cranium, and there’s a small issue; Metroplex’s brain isn’t there. It wasn’t yanked out, either- it’s clean as a whistle in there, all things considered. Next stop- the spark. Hopefully they can get there before all the lights go out, because it’s beginning to look rather grim for ol’ Plexy.
Back on Cybertron, Starscream is asking about the fatality rate of the death wave, which is a bit funny to read now that I’ve typed it out. Tankor- who is our tie-in issue character today- decides he’s going to start some shit with Starscream, even as people are evaporating around him in the medical center he’s volunteered to assist at. Starscream takes the verbal stripping down with a straight face, because at this point, it’s just par for the course for him. Being head honcho of a whole planet kinda sucks, as he’s quickly finding out.
Flatline, who is also here, makes a crack at Starscream’s expense, and Starscream decides that that’s going to be the straw that breaks his camel’s back, as he starts getting dangerously sarcastic with the guy. Too bad this isn’t the time for that, however, because the Titan just showed up at the city limits.
Wow, Titan really said “fuck those two guys on the left in particular.”
Over in the Dead Universe, it turns out that the massive fiery laser blast from last issue DIDN’T kill everyone, and doesn’t actually seem like it was ever intended to. I suppose it was some sort of transport beam that Nova Prime used for his entrance, like the dramatic bitch he is. That’s neat, I guess.
Hardhead’s pretty upset by Nightbeat’s betrayal, not that Nightbeat really cares- being brainwashed tends to have that effect. Hardhead starts slamming his skull against the containment cube, living up to his name and also making himself look like a fool. Cyclonus is beginning to regret agreeing to this trip. Orion Pax punches the wall and starts yelling at Nightbeat for being a traitor, pretty much breaking his hand in the process. Rodimus tries to get him to chill out, and gets a knuckle sandwich for his troubles.
Also, this whole thing is a ruse. Orion managed to crack the cube, and he’s gonna try to get them out, but he can only do it if Nightbeat doesn’t realize what’s going on. Once Rodimus is let in on the plan, he tries to butter up ol’ Ikea Johnson, who notices the very mysterious something that’s on Rodimus’ palm. The thing that’s NOT his forcefield generator, that we don’t get to know about just yet.
Seeing the mysterious something makes Nightbeat fall to his knees, clutching his head in pain. At least, that’s what Orion says happened. I don’t know what happened or why, or why Orion would fucking know what happened or why. Or even, really, if it was Orion making the claim in the first place.
Not even any feet to try to connect to characters. I’m just guessing on previous panels.
“Dark Cybertron” makes me so, so tired.
Anyway, Nova Prime tells everyone to get on their knees, lest he shoot them with his big honkin’ back turrets.
Back inside Metroplex, the fellas have exited the Rod Pod and are on the hunt for Metroplex’s spark. Someone’s gone and drawn arrows pointing in the direction of the spark chamber, though who exactly is a mystery. Lots of mystery going on this issue. The boys decide to see where the graffiti takes them, leaving the Rod Pod to whatever fate might befall it while they’re gone.
Nobody likes the Rod Pod very much.
Also, that hanger-on from earlier is still there. This’ll turn out great, surely!
We get treated to a double-page spread of Escher proportions, as the gang tries to traverse the inner workings of Metroplex, until they hit an arrow that seemingly hits a dead end. When they brute force their way through the ceiling, it’s bad news bears; they’re right back where they started. Whirl, our most volatile friend, takes out his frustration on the Rod Pod, only for more bad news to reveal itself: the Pod’s been rigged to explode by the hanger-on!
And that’s a series wrap on the Rod Pod Squad! Let’s give ‘em a hand, folks!
Back in the Dead Universe, Nova Prime is busy deadnaming Orion, and generally just being an asshole. He notices Cyclonus off in the corner, and starts being an asshole at him too, because that’s how Nova interacts with the world. It’s all he knows.
It’s at this point that Cyclonus gives Hardhead the signal, and Hardhead bashes through the crack in the cube. Too bad it reseals itself directly behind him. Hardhead goes to punch Nova Prime, and gets his hand crushed into pulp for his troubles. Then he dies, because that was his forcefield hand.
And that’s a series wrap on Hardhead!
Nova Prime informs everyone that he’ll be taking them to visit a pal of his.
You know, this reveal would be a hell of a lot more poignant if I could FUCKING TELL WHO THE SHIT THAT’S SUPPOSED TO BE.

Name: worm-milk
Hello! I just joined the bloggers. While I’m still working on a little music/fashion related article to post tomorrow, I’ll introduce myself by telling a little bit about me and my interests.
Name: Ania
Country: Poland
Favourite bands/artists: David Bowie, Husker Du, Jawbreaker, Nirvana, Hole, Mudhoney, Queenadreena, Daisy Chainsaw, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, The Birthday Party, Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid, Sex Pistols, Pixies, Fang, The Wipers, Mission of Burma, Dinosaur Jr., Melvins, Big Black, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Babes in Toyland, Kyuss, Queens of The Stone Age, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Rammstein, Rasputina, Green Day, Distillers, Amy Winehouse, Bjork...
Favourite book: Catcher in The Rye, Pax, Lalka
Favourite movie: The Lion King, Withnail & I, Blade Runner, Blade Runner 2049, Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2, Frankenstein’s Wife, The Kid (and other Charlie Chaplin movies)
I’m a freelance writer. I wrote a fan biography of one of my favourite bands, “Queenadreena: The Official Biography” (which will be soon available to buy as ebook) and I’m finishing my own story in a fantasy genre. I also play guitar (Epiphone Les Paul 100). I record some demos and I’d like to start a band and be involved in music more seriously. I’m recording something new now and I’m thinking of posting it online. I make comic books - I’ve been drawing comic series about a penguin punk band set in Club Penguin world for 12 or 13 years (and I’m still playing Club Penguin Rewritten, my penguin’s name is Dudeshon). I love music videos, sometimes I make my own - I wish I could do it professionally, but it’s not really a real job in my country, music videos here literally come out of the vacuum. I’m crazy about old silent movies, beginnings of the cinema and old movie stars. I’d like to make analogue movies, but it’s hard. I have an analogue 8mm camera and I made just three short films before it broke down - developing the tape is hard, since I don’t have tools, there’s only one place in my country where they develop 8mm tapes. I also miss disposable cameras and times where you could go and just have your photos developed - those photos were so much more lively, detailed and soulful. Digital cameras suck, plus you can’t have your own albums unless you retrieve hundreds of files from PC and pay someone to print them. I miss old cell phones, I still have a lot of them, my old Sony Ericsson and a variety of Nokias, flip phones, Motorolas, Siemens, as my younger brother collects these. I’m pretty old school and can’t really accept modern times, as a person growing up on VHS, cassete tapes, disposable cameras.
Currently I’m listening to Mission of Burma. I’m planning to post next my writing about kinderwhore fashion. See you next time :)

Planning for the Consequences || OPEN STARTER
[Despite current involvement of more people than Zach had previously known off and maybe even hoped for, he was still aware that they were barely at a point where they could be considered a striking force. Certainly the handful of people that had been pulled around Pax, himself and Teilo had some weight, surely they were held in high regard by him and the other members, and clearly the quiet support of Cambie meant a lot to the cause. But they were still so few, and the mystery surrounding the project might also mean the end of the project.]
[Zach, however, wasn’t the kind of individual who sat still. At all. There had never been a quiet day when he had been an activist, before the world had gone to shit. He had done so much on a daily basis that he had forced himself to continue to move when he had lived in his own forced seclusion. Now that a new goal was set before him, he once again felt like there was no other way than to move forward and stay busy. Which was why he took it upon himself - after some coaxing from Pax - to start recruiting individuals around the Colony for the coming forum. Which also meant that he was very clearly stepping out of the shadows, and might have to start preparing for any consequences.]
[He was sitting outside, watching the gray skies pass overhead, scribbling away on some almost empty piece of paper. Little dinosaurs, although they barely looked like that now. Just scribbles on a piece of paper as he thought on how he could approach Mitch and Dante.]

[[ Mitch doesn’t necessarily think that their first meeting went entirely poorly, other than how it’d kicked off, or that he needs to apologize or make amends -- but when he sees Zach sitting off to the side while he’s making a change between classes, he feels an inescapable pull. He may not feel a need to ask forgiveness, but he certainly doesn’t think the chance to talk to Zach when he himself is in a far better mood would go amiss.
So, shifting his Echo pad and a couple of books in the crook of his arm, Mitch crosses the path to catch the Torren’s attention. ]]
Mr. Bastiaans, good afternoon. [[ He greets amiably, with a smile and a nod before he can’t help but take a brief glance at the page in front of Zach, quietly amused by the small dinosaur doodles and scrawling across it. ]] Bit chilly out for such important research, don’t you think?

A Beginning of Sorts
It was a bit of a history lesson of sorts, though from a peer and not a teacher.
“My ancestors are from Iacon, which was once called Caminus,” Orion Pax said, a long time before the Fleet was ever an actual Fleet; this was in the old days, when the great heroes of the Fleet-to-be were still growing up. This was before the beginning of the Cobalt Stingers, before the passing of the Matriatrix, before the full realization of the alchemizers.
In those days, their people were nomads, a convoy traveling from planet to planet in interstellar bus-shuttles and using ancient stargates to find new worlds to evade the enemies that constantly pursued them, and the destructive beasts they hunted to stay alive.
Their particular friend group was a chaotic one; trolls, humans, Transformers, a few Gems that had declared themselves honorary sisters, and even magical monsters were all part of it. Against the side of a parked convoy-scraper, there was a campfire, and against it, some of the kids were telling tales about the history of their people.
Not the humans, much as they would want it; they knew precious little of their homeland. They knew it had been called Earth, or Terra, in the old days. They knew that humanity was come from there, and almost died there. And they knew that Earth was, at best, a bitter memory. There was no human homeworld these days.
Just about everyone in the convoy was in the same boat; they stuck together, all their disparate peoples and families and proto-clans, because there was no one else but each other.
A small, heavily built human raised his head through a wild mane of hair. “Um,” said Greg Universe, an up and coming bard who so openly idolized the convoy heroine Rose Quartz that he had even grown his hair out to look like her’s. A larger girl, her hair violet and her build heavy, smiled romantically at the young man’s obvious crush on the heroine. “That’s from your home planet, right?”
Orion beamed, nodding brightly. He was by Transformer standards, pitifully small… even frail. Not even twenty feet high, he was slim, and most of that was made up by his transforming kibble; some vague experimenting with an ancient relic, the supposed organ of one of their people’s founders, had allowed Transformers like him to reshape their bodies more fluidly, and today he was sporting the wings and claws of a robotic bat.
It suited him, considered the girl who had smiled at Greg’s crush; she’d been provisionally identified as possibly coming from an indigenous nation of ancient Earth. Her name was a private matter, but she asked people to call her Sierra.
Orion continued. “It is said that in the oldest days, before the coming of the Decepticon tyrants, Cybertron was not one world, but many. The Functionalists who preceded the Decepticons,” and here his expression curdled. The mentors had sternly taught him about the horrors of THEIR reign; if there was any bright side to Functionalist dominion, it was that they feared organic life so much they became strictly isolationist, and did no harm to alien life… according to what they uncovered. “Well, they uncovered several worlds of our ancestors, and forced them to merge into a single planet.”
A stocky, chubby and undersized Amethyst, only about forty feet tall, raised a broad hand tipped with claws. She was older than them by thousands of years, but somehow she fit in well as one of the kids. “Uh, I ain’t too learn-inated on our people not liking each other much but I’m pretty sure you can’t just mash up a planet.”
Orion shrugged. “Legends claim the planets were pieces of the forms our goddess Primus took during her periodic adventures into the mortal planes; I think that’s just a legend attributed to great works. In theory, we carried out what we believed to be her will, so it comes out to the sense thing in a cultural sense. I think ancient Cybertronians, in a golden age, created entire planets for us to live on. They were, in a sense, giant living Transformers, down to the ability to fuse.”
Amethyst’s violet eyes glamed. “Ahhh, I get it!”
Greg raised a hand. “I don’t!” he said, rather cheerfully.
The heavy bulk of Grimlock, apparently sleeping the history debate though quite clearly paying attention, cracked a yellow optic open. In his beast mode, he was an absolute giant, big enough for everyone else to sleep against, especially the tiny humans. He adjusted himself carefully around their miniscule bodies, particularly Sierra. He watched her carefully, almost fussing over her, before clearing his synthesizer. “Some Transformers can combine,” he said roughly. “Bit like Gems, but we can’t ALL do it. We used to, I hear.” He gave Orion a questioning look; Orion nodded. Grimlock continued, “So our planets can probably mash it up too.”
Terezi Pyrope, possibly one of the largest in the group, almost as big as Grimlock and shy of a mid-teens molt, rolled her blind eyes. “Dunno why this kinda thing bothers you guys so much. Cybertron’s a long time ago.”
Trolls had learned to be pragmatic the hard way. Beforus, the troll homeworld, had been gone for a very long time, and they had endured as the multiverse’s most looked-down upon denizens ever since.
It didn’t much make it easy to deal with Terezi’s tendency to be nasty when she was uncomfortable.
Grimlock turned to look at her, as Orion and Ariel (the largely silent and imposingly broad pink mech looming behind orion), all three robots glaring at her. Terezi didn’t notice much. “We want our homeland back,” Grimlock said sullenly.
Ariel scowled. “Our ancestors were fighting for thousands of years to take back our home before the ‘Con scum ever showed up,” she said bitterly. “And we were fighting ever since, even when we fled. And still they hunted us, all the way to us being born. We’re still in that fight, Terezi, and you’re part of it now too, I guess.”
Terezi sighed. “Sorry. I just don’t see the point…”
Orion looked up to the sky and spoke softly. It was with some intensity, as though he was reciting something dark and painful, and it sounded like a quotation. “We turned to face as the spires of our ancestors burned down; as our home fled before us, we hold the tears of all who died to let us live to this day. Let us turn skyward; remember our ancestors. Remember the home that was stolen from us as we run. Even if all worlds scorn us and despise us, remember: once there was a place we could call home. Let us remember Cybertron.”
“Let us remember,” Grimlock echoed, and softly he began to sing. It was in a far older language; a deep and booming one, suited for snapping jaws and bestial clamps, and they recognized this song. It was a mourning song, a longing for a home where a Transformer would not be judged for walking on legs in their true form instead of wheels or wings. A memory of the homeland of Eukaris, of Simfur.
Once they had a home where they were free from persecution and torment. But oh, that time was so long ago.
Sierra laid a hand against the big robotic dinosaur’s side. It felt warmer at her touch.
“One day,” Orion said quietly. “Cybertron will be free from the Decepticons. We can finally come back home. And all of you would have a home there too.” His optics gleamed. “And everyone would finally be free.”

Triforce Quartet is a classically-trained string quartet that arranges and performs video game music! We have performed both in the US and abroad for audiences large and small from PAX to MAGfest, iDig to DragonCon. We’ve worked with a number of leaders in the video game music community from Saori Kobayashi to Christopher Tin and Eimear Noone, as well as Tommy Tallarico and Video Games Live. We’ve collaborated with other VGM bands and arrangers such as Cheap Dinosaurs and members of Bit Brigade, the Returners, Super Soul Bros, and Materia Collective. Triforce Quartet is comprised of Matthew Evans and Jacob Roege, violins, Stanley Beckwith, viola, and Chad Schwartz, cellist and arranger. We released our first album The Legend Of in 2014, our second album Ultima Phantasia in 2016, and now finally our third album Minuet of Time will be available October 24 2019 on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, and more! ! We decided on the name Minuet in Time because a minuet is a classical dance counted in 3/4 time; a nod to it being our third album, and our Legend of Zelda roots.

☾, ♡, ☯. ■
☾ - Sleep
Pax can’t sleep in silence, he can only sleep with at least headphones on if not music + tv + ambient noise. He’s definitely the kiddo who needs a parent to turn off all his electronics once he knocks out. Too bad he’s an orphan, whoops.
♡ - Romance
Pax’s ideal date is exploring the city and hunting down street food. Pax is the guy who will go ridiculously above and beyond on a date because wants to have all. the. adventures. And has no concept of moderation.
☯ - Likes/Dislikes
Loves sushi, deathly hot thai food, and trampolines. Dislikes ketchup, sprains, and having to sit still.
■ - Living Space
Pax’s ideal bed is a trampoline or lofted trampoline bed. Sadly, right now he’s stuck in the dorms. His space is filled with loud posters, dinosaurs, and salvaged retro tech.
