Y’know I wouldn’t be surprised if Dark Sun took Old Moon’s chip out and left it in space knowing someone would go looking for it. Make Old Moon his own body and (re)meet the family.

Then he would show New Moon like, “Oh look. It seems like they’ve replaced you already.”

New Moon would get more mad and lash out.

Puppet wouldn’t be able to stop anything since she doesn’t even know where Dark Sun is.

Everybody is falling right into Dark Sun’s hands.

Do you think that Ahkmenrah blames himself for the 54 years he spent locked up at the Natural History Museum?

Does he think that he must have done something to anger the gods in order for them to punish him like this. He didn't honor them well enough, maybe. Or maybe they were angry that he had told Egyptologists at Cambridge about them, was it hearsay to tell stories of the gods to people who believed them only to be fiction. Did he say something incorrect, perhaps, misleading in a way that left him needing punishment.

He had to have done something. He's just not sure what.

But Ahkmenrah knows he has to figure it out quickly. The gods may have sent Larry to free him as a second chance, but something like that must come with a time limit.

And if Ahk found himself locked up again, he isn't quite sure he would be able to make it out the other side whole.

Honestly, I'm really grateful that my brain isn't wired to jump from hyperfixation to hyperfixation. It has its own unique drawbacks, sure, but I've always found it really comforting that I know what to expect from myself.

A though occurred to me while playing some cozy games earlier.

Bearing in mind that it is very likely I’ve missed something due to backing off watching episodes, and that I am entirely talking about in-universe reasons for certain decisions, because I understand completely why the writers themselves might have had…

Why did Monty not bring Old Moon back earlier? Especially given that recent events have proven no one would have actually needed to die?

Earlier Monty said they were only considering this option now because they thought Nexus was too far gone and, essentially, wouldn’t care about killing them now where they would have felt bad before. But, like… Nexus is very clearly still alive. And if all Monty needed was, like… a code scan or sample or something that he probably got after he tortured Nexus to unconsciousness and went to talk to Old Moon again… why did they not do this back when everything was fine, possibly even before Solar died? Had they asked Nexus, Nexus would have probably agreed willingly! And probably would have roped Solar in to help design a new body!

Old Moon and Nexus both would have been up for expanding their family! Old Moon was the one who introduced Lunar as a brother to Sun, after all, and even told Nexus about how he would have loved to have Earth as a sister! Why would he not have done the same for Nexus, who was fulfilling the wish he’d had for Sun to have a good brother who cared and was “better”? Who more or less accepted KC's claim that Old Moon was his brother?

And if one or the other one had felt out of place/didn’t want to stick around… they still both would have been more than willing to help whoever left get settled in their chosen place. Nexus did that for KC! And one of Old Moon’s big worries about Earth’s eventual arrival was that he was still getting Lunar settled into being, like, an individual.

This all just seems… so unnecessary?? Like Monty only waited until now because they had some ulterior motive, possibly monetarily-based??

Or maybe they secretly don’t like how close Earth and Eclipse are getting, and was banking on Old Moon jumping the gun and killing him purely because Eclipse was still an enemy last he knew, and Monty wasn’t able to/intentionally neglected to tell him that this wasn’t even the same Eclipse anymore?? Just like Monty neglected to tell him the full story about what just happened with Nexus?

Again, I’m sure I’ve missed something… but I’m just sitting here right now thinking “Monty? What the hell???!" Even beyond the general "what the hell" this entire arc has been in general.

Though on that note—I really would like an explanation of what exactly I missed in Monty’s in-universe motivation/reasoning/ability that they couldn’t do this earlier. Because I’m fairly sure that if it were an issue of resources, ability, or timing, that they would have mentioned this earlier.

Hey so also have Sir Crocodile brainrot and have recently reread Impel Down. This is probably nothing at all but it made me question the artistic choice made. Like we dont see Crocodiles full face until Luffy recognizes him. Before that tho he joins in on Jinbei & Ace's convo about Whitebeard and is shown to (non-)react to Boa Hancocks visit. But we only get his face in shadows or see the hook. Which. Why. Oda we know what he looks like and who the guy with the stitches on his face and the hook is. WHY OBSCURE HIM.

Okay jokes aside, yes it was an artistic choise. More specifically, a storytelling technique Oda masterfully used to build up hype and excitement to Crocodile's eventual reveal and re-introduction into the story.

So thanks to Ms Goldenweek's cover story (which ran back during Water 7/Enies Lobby) we already knew Crocodile along with Daz, Bon-chan and Galdino had all been sent to Impel Down, when we also learned about Impel Down, Marineford and the Gates of Justice (+ the giant whirlpool between the three locations) to some extent. ((Now of course, if you were an anime-only then you would've had no idea about the former BW members being in Impel Down. And even if you had read the manga you still would've had to actually pay attention to the cover story and its lore, and not forgotten all about it))

So even before Luffy decides he's going to head to Impel Down to save Ace, we know Crocodile's going to be somewhere down there. The second Luffy arrives there, we are immidiately reminded of the fact when Domino mentions Crocodile taking the traditional "bath" new inmates take at the entrance. And as we descend deeper and deeper into Impel Down, with those cuts to what's happening down at Level 6 every now and then, as well as with the Baroque Works Countdown, Oda time and time again keeps on reminding of us of Crocodile's looming presence in the background. This is all absolutely deliberate. Crocodile was arguably the most iconic (maybe not most popular but iconic) One Piece villian at the time, if given an opportunity of course the readers wanted to see him again. But just letting us see him right away would be anti-climactic, and distracting from what's actually important (Ace, and Luffy getting to him as fast as possible). So keeping him hidden could serve multiple purposes:

For one, Crocodile doesn't get to steal the spotlight from the other characters (at least not too early). We can focus on Luffy, Ace, all the new Impel Down characters and the other returning characters in peace, while Crocodile waits for his turn. Another thing is that Crocodile's presence being downplayed gives off the impression that perhaps him being there isn't that important to the story. Thus, him teaming up with Luffy to break out isn't such an obvious twist (and so when that happens, it's ever more hype as a result)

But indeed, the most important part is that by teasing us constantly through out Impel Down, Oda creates hype. He makes us the readers excited if/when we might get to see the bastard, even if it was just a quick little cameo. So when Luffy finally reaches Level 6 and we finally do get that reveal, everyone loses their fucking marbles over the HISASHIBURI DANA MUGIWARA when we finally get to see The Motherfucker Himself. (And indeed, then getting to see him fight alongside Luffy is cool as fucking hell, completely unexpected and absolutely delightful)

But there's also another thing building up to Crocodile's reveal does. Compare his original introduction to the re-introduction

Compare Crocodile at the height of his power and influence, to the absolute rock bottom he has hit. No longer happily laughing while looking down on people (literally), he's filthy, he has given up on life, with sunken eyes and a hollow look on his face, only moved by a thirst for petty revenge (/an opportunity to go out with a bang). He doesn't even get the whole page for his grand reveal anymore, he's been shuffled to the side so the plot can progress on the same page.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

And to some degree, this is kind of meant to be a shocking realization to the readers. That this is not the same Crocodile we remember from Alabasta, that Crocodile died when Luffy defeated him. This is just the husk that remains, a shadow of what was once there. It's a sad sight, and probably not what the readers who loved Crocodile The Villian wanted to see. It's not the epic Return of the (Evil) King they wanted. And that juxtaposition helps, because Crocodile doesn't return into the story as a villian, but as a frenemy/ally-on-thin-ice. And that idea is easier to signal to the readers in a lowkey manner when you do his re-introduction like this.

So yes, Oda refusing to show Crocodile's face until Luffy found him was 100% a deliberate artistic choise. This is fantastic storytelling

Calling out multiple times, with the same verbiage, but Khonshu only responding when he gets what he wants out of Marc (recognizing Khonshu as father) is just ugh

👏 So.. THEORY/PERDICTION/ (Probably) SPOILER TIME!!!

It looks like the current plan to stop/fix Moon is to combine Old Moon and New Moon's consciences, so they will be one! Honestly, this might be their best bet. Earth couldn't reason with Moon, Sun couldn't, EVEN Moon couldn't reason with Moon if no one in Moon's family can reason with Moon maybe fusing New Moon with Old Moon can combining their memories, consciences,and experiences this can snap Moon out of his murder/revival plan. I do think this will work, but in the commotion, something bad will happen

1.Sun and the others. Even with Moon being back to normal, they won't forgive him nor want to be around him, and honestly... after everything they've been, though, I wouldn't blame them.

2. Creator kidnaps someone Lunar,F.c. or maybe Gemini or Taurus, which will cause them all to haul butt to rescue them.

3. They succeed, but not fast enough and though Old/New Moon is back, Solar is too but it's not Solar it's a shell, a husk, a horrifying abomination that is bent on destruction and now we have a new villain.

4. Again, they succeed, but it's too late, but Solar isn't back. Instead of Solar coming back, a TON of negative star power goes into the world, causing the Astrals to come to earth and that's not gonna be good, they probably will be on a warpath for Moon and ANYONE with Star power and to make matters worse the universe is becoming destabilized due to the excess negative starpower and now they have to save the universe.

Let me know what you all think 🤔 I'm very excited to see what they'll do.

And in the episode the teacher mermaid says “your mother was the only mermaid strong enough to stop you from getting your tail” which implies that????? they’re born without tails????????? How long are they babies with legs do the mermaids give birth on land and then return to the sea and their babies get tails then? do their tails slowly form as they grow older? if they have to become human to give birth why is it so unheard of for the mako mermaid girls to go on land for their mission? have they never seen any merbabies? there are canonically mermaids younger than them! Would the baby also turn into water? it wasn’t in the moon pool but it’s parent was and the moon pool changes a person’s entire dna so like. it would change the eggs dna as well right? but the egg is only half of the dna and there would also be a human half that shouldn’t respond to water at all. does the mer dna overpower the human dna? would onlookers see a random tiny foetus floating in the air/water for a split second before the mermaid reappears around it?
