When Ester first walks up to crystal in episode one. It's creepy and helped establish her as a villain. However, the whole "I really like girls" line and the way she got close to Crystal had me like, "Is she trying to give Crystal a wlw awakening?" They also have a few parallels to Edwin and the Cat King if you squint, though with the context of Ester's hobbies (torture, murder, kidnapping, etc.), and the fact that Crystal is 16 (with no leeway on the whole "I died in 1916, so I'm actually way older than I look" type stuff), it's a lot creepier and also less obvious if Ester is trying to seduce Crystal at all or if she's solely on the "let's get this young girl on my snake's menu" angle.

That said, I think it would be cool if it was part of an arc for Crystal sort of like the Cat King was for Edwin, so the show could do something like:

season 1 is Edwin's gay awakening,

season 2 is Charles' bi awakening,

season 3 is Crystal's bi (Pan? Something else?) awakening,

season 4 is Monty trying to learn more about the whole human thing (and maybe getting re-introduced to the cat king? *wink wink*),

season 5 is Niko being happy all her friends are out and happy and maybe discovering her crush on Crystal and/or discovering she's maybe ace(?),

season 6 is Jenny finding love with someone who won't do the old Stalk and Stab maneuver,

season 7 is the night nurse being visited by Kashi and starting something there,

then a bunch more seasons with more characters that get introduced throughout the show,

then finally the last season is Tragic Mick becoming a walrus again and reuniting with Sedna and his family in the sea.

And each episode obviously has a different case getting solved, and at some point, Niko drags EVERYONE to a Pride festival and that's essentially the beach episode (aside from the actual beach episode that they would also have or so help me-)
