#is it an akuma or is it brain damage

I finished "Kira Kira Pre Cure A La Mode" like a month ago, and I have brain rot that makes a Miraculous Ladybug AU out of anything with an animal theme so here we go. I would label this more as a crossover tbh and even thought of my own rules to make it coexist in the Miraculous Ladybug Universe.
Ko-fi | Patreon
To start, they break a few Miraculous Rules: the Miraculouses themselves have no resemblance to the animal they're imitating, and their powers are closer to their Pre Cure ones, which are baking/cooking based. And the reason I have for this is that these are technically not Miraculouses and technically not kwamis.
They aren't the "Miraculous of [x]" representing a concept, they're actually fairies who desire to be heroes. As such, they're actually at odds with Kwamis and there's a bit of a feud between them - the Kwamis have always worked alongside humans and see the Fairies as reckless and violating nature's laws, while the Fairies see the Kwamis as hording all the fun and not even trying to bridge the gap between them.
I imagine akumas would start showing up in Japan in Ichigozaka, bringing out the six PreCure Miraculouses, and they'd eventually follow them back to Paris to have a showdown with Hawkmoth AND the existing heroes. While the kwamis and fairies are having it out, the humans are meeting in the middle.
Ichika uses Whipp to become Crème Fouettée (Whipped Cream), a Bunny Hero with the ability "Batter Up", which captures the enemy in a giant cake. It has the side effect of being able to extract an akuma, but it can't purify it.
Himari uses Flann to become Swirl Caramel, a Squirrel Hero with modified clacker/rope darts as a weapon and the ability "Cherry Bomb", which is pretty self explanatory.
Aoi uses Aisuu to become Glace Bleue (Blue Ice), a Lion Hero with the ability "Gelato Shake", which encases her fist in a block of ice for even more painful punchs.
Yukari uses Cookie to become Kitty Macaron, a Cat Hero with a spiked yoyo and the ability "Cat Scratch" which inflates the size of the yoyo and increases their strength, making them able to scratch through anything.
Akira uses Chocco to Chien Rouge (Red Dog), a Dog Hero with the ability "Chocolate Armose" which creates a chocolate shield.
Ciel "uses" RinRin to become Blande Volante (Flying Bands), a Pegasus Hero with the ability "Kiracle Rainbow", which fully purifies the enemy and all of the damage caused during a fight. (If you know you know)

ML Fanfic Recs for 2023: 5K - 10K words
So I’ve been going through and adding particularly good fics I’ve read throughout the year. Only Complete fics, of course. Enjoy!
Plagg eats Destruction while Tikki eats Creation. They choose not to tell their Holders exactly what that means.
Ladybug’s partner joins with Hawk Moth and she can’t figure out why. Not at first, anyway.
Adrien had started expecting the family breakfasts. He had NOT been expecting his father to collapse in the middle of one.
Adrien and Marinette both vaguely remember young playmates from when they were kids. Their first friend. Shame they didn’t remember each other’s names.
Marinette’s itching to win a prize for beating a merfolk in a race. Thankfully, a merman, Chat Noir, decides to challenge her. Pity that Adrien was busy that day.
Adrien finds a tiny, mousy guest in his new home, and makes a new friend.
Marinette helps lead a revolution to overthrow King Adrien with the help of her most trusted ally, Chat Noir.
Ladybug and Chat Noir find a toddler wandering around during an akuma attack. Who could her parents be?
Chat Noir wrote a tweet mocking himself as Adrien. This totally does not come back to bite him in any way.
An akuma swapped Marinette’s and Chat Noir’s bodies. Marinette AS Marinette, not as Ladybug. This causes some problems.
All this and more below the break!
---
you don’t even know me at all (but I was made for loving you) by @ladyofthenoodle
They didn’t remember each other. The hospital told them there’d been an accident—brain damage—but Alya had told them the truth, later. Who’d they’d been to each other. What they’d given up, and why.
But even with their memories of each other gone, Adrien and Marinette are still inextricably tied together—by law, by their social circles, and by their hearts.
And in the apartment they share, there's only one bed.
Yep, it’s the “there was only one bed” trope XD! I especially love how it was used here, how Adrien and Marinette are strangers now but they had a whole life together, and they pine for each other even without remembering, and how Marinette just can’t believe how in love with her Adrien is even though he doesn’t remember her. I loved the emotional turmoil the two of them went through together in the fic, and the resolution, it’s great!
---
Experimental Feeding by Machina_Fun_T
Plagg eats Destruction*. Tikki eats Creation*.
They don't explain that to their holders.
*Warning - This diet has side effects.
I just found the whole idea here fascinating. Basically, Plagg and Tikki prefer to eat things that align with their concept somehow, and even get boosts from them. They decide not to explain the details to their Holders though (just to mess with them I think) which prompts Adrien and Marinette to both do a lot of experimentation to figure out what their kwami likes to eat the most.
---
Until I Found You by @linnieluna
Working their way up to a settled adulthood, Marinette and Adrien, now 23, gain a reason to believe that they are expecting—way earlier than they ever planned. Still unwed, it evokes a revelation on Adrien’s behalf.
Was it time to take the next step forward?
I loved the emotions here, how Adrien and Marinette reacted to the results of the pregnancy test, how complicated their feelings about it were - and how it prompted Adrien to take action. It’s a really sweet fic!
---
From school bells to wedding bells by @linnieluna
When the superhero duo takes on another exhausting fight against an akuma, Chat Noir does what he never hesitates to do and takes a hit for his partner. The problem being: neither of them knew what power the akuma possessed.
That is... until he is transported into the future. More specifically, to his friend Marinette's wedding.
Ah I love time travel fics! Older!Marinette’s surprised, Younger!Adrien’s bewildered, and Older!Adrien is off knowing exactly what happened and giving his younger self some subtle heads-up.
It gives Adrien something to look forward to, to cling onto, through bad days in the future at least!
---
u + me = love by @xiueryn
Marinette has a massive crush on Adrien. He has a crush on the superhero, Ladybug. When he says the only person he'll invite as his plus one to an event is Ladybug, Marinette takes her chance to romance him for the night. AU.
(a fanboy and fangirl start to date.)
This is just a fun Ladrien story. Ladybug is happy to oblige in Adrien’s fantasies, and no one else believes that he’s actually dating Ladybug.
---
Disintegrated Pancakes by @scribeofrhapsody
Adrien had started expecting the family breakfasts. He had NOT been expecting his father to collapse in the middle of one.
I’m shocked I haven’t seen more of this sort of thing, with Adrien finding out his father’s Monarch via seeing the Cataclysm wound. I love that Alya gets involved in this, being the person Adrien runs into after fleeing the room, and then Adrien getting to talk things out with Gabriel and Nathalie. Thankfully Gabriel is at least not completely incapable of being reasoned with here, or things could have gone worse than they did. It’s a nice little read, though with an ambiguous ending (at least at the time when I write this).
---
Like Smoke From A Furnace by @wackus-bonkus-maximus
Marinette and Adrien give up their Miraculous. Ladybug and Chat Noir never meet again.
This one’s an angsty fic with a happy ending (though there is a little fluff in there as well.) Adrien and Marinette get together and have a family together, while Scarabella and Kitty Noire continue to fight Monarch for the next decade. But it still eats at Marinette that she never found out what happened to Chat Noir, that he never said anything before they both vanished, and Chat reappearing during an akuma attack when Kitty Noire was taken out of commission doesn’t help with that - especially since he won’t leave her head and she needs to commit herself to her family, doesn’t want to be torn by his presence. She cares about her family too much.
Ladybug and Chat Noir never meet again... but there are other ways for them to meet up and talk things out.
---
with this ring by @thelibraryloser
She thought “you and me against the world” had sounded like lopsided odds before, when she hadn’t even dreamed “you against me” was a possibility. Or maybe she had dreamed it, but at least in those dreams he’d had cold blue eyes and a stark white mask.
The villain she’d fought today had looked at her through her partner’s own bright green eyes.
It wasn’t meant to be this way.
Short and sweet Sentiadrien enemies canon divergence fic here! I adored Marinette finding out why her kitty seemed to have “betrayed” her, and the righteous anger on his behalf once she figured out that it wasn’t of his own free will. Her comforting Adrien about it was just... really good. It’s a Hawkmoth Defeat fic too, so the immediate aftermath gets covered as well. Adrien needs a hug.
---
Miracoffee by @pauliestorylover
Ever since the last Mr Pigeon attack over nine months ago, Hawkmoth has fallen off the face of the earth, seemingly for good. There’s never been a better chance for an identity reveal—but after keeping her identity a secret for so many years, Marinette feels incredibly nervous about one.
When Chat Noir accidentally finds Ladybug working at a café, Alya comes up with a brilliant idea. If Ladybug and Chat Noir interact regularly in a civilian setting, surely they’ll move towards an identity reveal without outside interference?
Adrien Never Goes To Public School Coffee Shop AU here! It’s funny how he clocks Marinette as being Ladybug IMMEDIATELY. And then after discussing it for awhile, decide to make a bit of a game of the identity reveal, having Chat come in on pre-determined days and seeing whether Ladybug can figure out who she is, all while they get to know each other, even if in passing.
Love the other Miraculous heroes making cameos as well, Marinette seems annoyed that Nino cosplaying as Carapace actually doesn’t tip anyone off XD.
---
Nothing Else Matters by LiquefiedStars
Marinette couldn’t figure out Chat Noir. He was supposed to be her partner, but instead ended up working for Hawk Moth. Still, her heart betrayed her and when a strong connection forms between them, Ladybug goes to Chat looking for answers, finding out more than she bargained for.
Sentiadrien enemies AU fic! He never wanted to fight against her, but Gabriel caught him before he could transform for the first time, and with his father using his Amoks against him, he had no choice.
I like that there’s a solid explanation for why Fu let Adrien keep his Miraculous even though he’s been working against Ladybug, I don’t often see explanations for that that I’m satisfied with.
---
For the Sake of a Ring by @rosie-b
An akuma that transfers people's consciousnesses into other universes hits Ladybug, sending her into a world where everything is the same... but instead of earrings, she's wearing a ring on one hand! She's only just arrived in this universe, but already Plagg seems to have gone missing. It's up to Marinette to figure out what happened before she's sent back home!
This fic takes place in the future, after Season 5, but it does not contain any leaks or major spoilers. Please keep the comment section spoiler-free, too!
This is really cute, Marinette gets transported into a world where she’s married to Adrien and is really confused as to why and how they got married at sixteen. Adrien’s just an adorable puppy who thinks his wife is the most amazing person in the world!
---
His Princess and Her Knight by @seas-of-silver
Adrien, Marinette, Nino and Alya have a group assignment about how the past has shaped them into the people they are today, but they’ll make a discovery that’ll send them searching for answers.
This fic is adorable, Adrien, Marinette, and Nino uncover that they all went to the same preschool together, with Adrien and Marinette immediately latching onto each other, Adrien being the knight to Marinette’s princess, and also making friends with Nino. Sadly he was pulled after two weeks, but it made quite an impression on him.

A Friendship Not Abandoned (Just Delayed) by @nomolosk
Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste first met as tiny little kids, but then Adrien had to move away. When they finally meet again, will they even remember each other, much less become friends again?
Poor Adrien keeps on saying or doing just the wrong thing to give Marinette the impression that he’s a bully like Chloe when he’s not, and he keeps desperately trying to fix it. So a bit of an enemies au in that way, since Marinette doesn’t like him much. He does gradually manage to convince her that he’s a good person though.
---
as luck would have it by @silver-hibiscus
It's Adrien's birthday, and there's an akuma attack. Luckily, Ladybug and Chat Noir are there to save the day! Even if they're not the heroes that we're familiar with...
Not so much a kwami swap as an another au entirely.
Same title as one of my own fics, funnily enough! Though entirely different premise. This is a Gabenath fic, with Gabriel as Chat Noir and Nathalie as Ladybug, complete with a lovesquare and some unspecified other person as Hawk Moth. In this version, Gabriel and Emilie had some terrible fights and were separated, with Gabriel realizing along the way that he’d been a distant father and working to rectify that, he’s a pretty decent person here. I could actually kind of see this being a feasible path Gabriel could have gone down, if he wasn’t so desperate to revive Emilie and hadn’t gone so far to try to distance himself from who he was and where he came from back before he met Emilie and started changing to fit in with the upper class.

The Price by @clawsoutspotsoff
He clutched his chest, feeling his lungs burn as his body started to give out beneath him. No. Not now. Not this time, when he was so close.
He wrenched his arm back, striking with the other as he called his sword to his hand, fire and lightning and ice tearing through his nerves as he did, but finally, finally, the resistance gave way and he stumbled backwards.
Without looking, he turned and ran, calling a portal to appear before him. He fell through it, landing on a cold, hard floor in utter darkness. He could still hear shouting over the rushing in his ears, every part of his body failing at once, and before he could be pursued, before he could collapse any further, he forced raspy words through his torn, aching throat.
"Plagg, Tikki, unify!"
The world went blessedly, eerily silent.

Written for MiraculousFanworks' fanfic wars 2022
Will that be cash, credit, or memories?
This was a great look at how the Wish could potentially happen, what the kwamis might do to help mitigate the worst aspects of it on the people they care about... and what the price would be for it.

Emotional Mountain Ranges by @liiinerle
After Zoé's attempted romantic confession to Marinette is interrupted by an incensed Chloé and Audrey Bourgeois, she's left distraught and adrift, a crying mess in an alleyway far from home. Ladybug saves her from the incoming akuma, and tries to help her back on her feet - and Zoé wonders what she could possibly have done to earn this much attention from a superhero...
Lovely Zoenette fic here! I especially like how Marinette talks to Zoe, reassures her that she’s good enough, that she (as Ladybug) isn’t as perfect and composed as she thinks, and just... tries to get Zoe to have more confidence in herself. It’s mostly from Zoe’s perspective too, which I like since there aren’t a lot of Zoe POV fics.
---
The Mer-Human Race by @rosie-b
Bringing her hand closer to his lips, Adrien tried to plant a kiss on it, but Marinette pulled away before his lips could touch her.
“Save it for your girlfriend,” she said teasingly. “Or do you still not have one yet?”
Adrien smirked and crossed his arms.
“It’s a girl,” he said. “And I know her in real life. That’s all you get. Now, let’s get back to planning, shall we? We have a mermaid to beat.”
Lovely world-building here! Merfolk and humans have had a treaty for a long time, so there’s a tradition where merfolk can challenge humans to a race, and whoever wins gets to ask for a reasonable sort of reward (in Marinette’s case, she wants to be allowed to captain a ship at a younger age than is usually allowed). Alya, Nino, and Adrien are naturally very encouraging towards Marinette, and luckily for her, a nice merman going by the name of Chat Noir shows up and challenges her to a race...
Yeah you can see where this is going XD. It’s fun, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Late Bloomer by @generalluxun
On what might very well be the last night of her life, Sabrina Raincomprix pulls out a very special scrapbook, pressed between the pages is the past, the past she has never shared with anyone. She relives how she got to this moment one page at a time, preparing herself for the end. A phone call interrupts her self-imposed exile and brings news that could change her life forever.
Even if it does though the question looms... change it how?
Sabrina-centric Hanahaki AU here! I love how it goes into Sabrina’s relationship with Chloe over the years, the good and the bad - and even what happens post Revolution.
I love the description of some of the plants involved, and what they mean, what they represent. If you want a fic that delves more in Sabrina’s character and her relationship with Chloe, this is a solid choice.

Slowly Fading (from my misery) by @wehadabondingmoment
“You’re looking awfully deep in thought today, minou.” Ladybug’s gloved hand stroked over his hair and Chat Noir closed his eyes with an unstable breath.
He got like this sometimes. Lately, it had been getting worse.
Or: Gabriel likes using the rings to order his son around. After a while, it starts having effects on Chat Noir as well. (The more often Gabriel commands Adrien to act a certain way, the more it gets ingrained in his mentality. He suffers because of it.)
This is a gorgeous fic. Adrien’s been puppeted around, forced to obey orders for reasons he doesn’t understand, for so long, so often that a lot of times his own body doesn’t even feel like his. A lot of residual orders keep on bubbling up and stopping him from doing what he wants to do, and he just... doesn’t understand why. Considering how Adrien looked in Pretension when Gabriel forced him to go to his room so he could talk to Marinette alone, and how desperately Adrien tried to head back there but couldn’t make himself open the door, how terrified and confused he’d seemed, I think his feelings here, his mindset, is pretty close to canon.
---
Spread Your Wings by @myladynoire
Set before the Finale. Félix uses his Kwagatama to summon his father's memory and has a talk with him.
I love Colt’s characterization here, how we see his mindset, his beliefs, and even what made him the way he is. We have a limited amount of knowledge about him in canon, only having the play Felix and Kagami put on to go off of, but myladynoire made good use of it! I’m glad Felix got some closure here as well.
---
Cheating Cat by @11jj11
When Emma and Isaac Dupain-Cheng realize that Adrien is Chat Noir, that can only mean one thing... that he's cheating on Marinette with Ladybug, and they're the only ones that know!
This is really cute, with Emma and Isaac being worried about Adrien supposedly cheating on Marinette and wanting to talk to Ladybug to stop her from dating Chat Noir. That’s not all that’s going on here, though - Isaac’s actually adopted, but he and Adrien are still related, which puts an interesting twist on the tale. There’s a reason he’s especially sympathetic to the fact that Adrien being Chat Noir means he would have had to fight his own father...
---
A Mousey guest by charliepoet13
Adrien Agreste has finally managed to break away from his father and make his way out into the world. One faithful night, after settling down in his new home, he spots a strange guest.
Adrien X Multimouse fic here! So this is inspired by the Borrowers, with little people the size of mice living amongst ordinary-sized humans, and Marinette got a little careless here XD. But soon finds that Adrien’s friendly and not a threat. It’s adorable and reminds me of the The Littles book series that I read when I was a kid!
---
Three Crazy Days by @lea-panthera
In which Marinette's mind is forced to stretch a mile.
So Bunnix drops off Marinette’s future daughter for her to take care of, who blabs that her grandfather is Hawk Moth, and then things quickly spin out of control XD.

all of your flaws and all of my flaws (are laid out one-by-one) by @coffeebanana
Ladybug and Marinette have both been acting strangely since Monarch's defeat, and Chat Noir would give anything to know why—to be able to help them. He just...didn't expect his answers to come when Ladybug drags him to his father's statue in the middle of the night along with a bag full of spray paint.
If you felt unsatisfied with Adrien being left in the dark about Monarch, with Ladybug lying about Gabriel being a hero, this is a great fic to read. Marinette’s breaking down keeping this secret, seeing people treat Gabriel as the hero she told people he was, until she finally snaps and has to do SOMETHING, has to tell SOMEONE the truth.
Which Chat takes pretty well! He knows how persuasive his father could be, and he’s mostly just relieved at finally hearing someone say that Gabriel wasn’t a hero. It’s still a lot to cope with though.

So this is a multimedia type fic showing various online conversations and things that would likely be going on in Miraculous Paris. It doesn’t really have a coherent narrative per se, and is more like a series of vignettes. It’s a lot of fun, like there’s a section going over Andre’s ice cream reviews, Alix talking with Max about how she’s worried about Alim falling down conspiracy rabbit holes, an image of the most popular google search terms for Adrien, all sorts of things! It must’ve taken a lot of work and I think it’s worth a look.

Don’t be a Stranger by @wackus-bonkus-maximus
Chat Noir has been fighting Chrysalide alone for years when one day, Ladybug appears. She seems to already know him, and is a little too eager to be friends. But the more she pushes for her and Chat Noir to reveal their identities, the harder she is to trust.
Written for Ladynoir July Prompt 31 - “In Every Universe”
This is an intriguing story, with a somewhat open ending. I don’t want to spoil too much about it - the plot hook in the summary should already give you a pretty good idea of the premise. It is a little strange seeing LADYBUG pushing for an identity reveal and making jokes during akuma fights, but given what’s happened, I could see why she’d try to do things that made her think of Chat.

hands red series by katrinette
Summary for the first fic in the series, a serpent in these still waters:
Marinette's on her knees before her new king, preparing to swear the oath that binds her to serve him to the best of her ability.
To the man whose father had her parents killed.
Every word tastes like ash in her mouth.
Marinette’s plotting to overthrow the corrupt monarch, as the French tend to do. She doesn’t know King Adrien all that well, since he just ascended to the throne recently, but she’s certain that he’s just as bad as his father.
Of course, rebellion’s aren’t very effective without help, so after biting her tongue with the new king, she rants to her partner in crime, a man whose true name and face she does not know, but who she deeply trusts nonetheless: Chat Noir.
---
Falling (sick) with you by @chocoluckchipz
Nothing would be easier than taking a pair of earrings off an unconscious Ladybug. Doing so would bring his mother back and end their decade-long strife. He shouldn't be hesitating when a chance of a life time presented itself to him. He should not be looking for excuses and reasonings as to why spending another twenty or so years fighting this woman rather than pleasing his father and giving his mother another chance at life was not such a bad idea after all.
Ah, I love a good enemies au! Even when they’re enemies, Chat is unwilling to hurt Ladybug. Though honestly, he makes himself out to be more of a villain than he actually is, it’s pretty obvious to everyone that he’s not trying as hard as he could to get her earrings. There’s very good reason for that.

Lost Little Kitten by soliea0death
Monarch hasn't been seen for a while, but that doesn't mean that Ladybug and Chat Noir aren't still needed as the heroes of Paris. Also, the new holder of the rabbit miraculous may need some more practice when dealing with time travel. One-shot Ladynoir ;);)
This is adorable. Ladybug and Chat Noir find a toddler wandering around and try to find her parents, to no avail, so they decide to take care of her (well Ladybug said she was gonna leave her with Marinette, but you know what that really means). Of course Bunnix had to come to collect her since she was displaced from time, but neglected to say who her parents were...
Anyway this was adorable, and I loved the explanation for how, exactly, the little girl ended up in the wrong time period.

Eat, Pray, Duck by @trishacollins
Gabriel Agreste split his twin sons apart when his wife died, keeping one with him and sending one to London with his sister. Unfortunately, the Supreme was not willing to let this be.
He wanted a matched set.
Felix is a weapon, a servant of the Supreme. On a mission to retrieve the stolen Miraculous.
In a world that has outlawed kindness, sometimes the most dangerous person is the one who chooses it anyway.
I love this glimpse at what might have been going on with Felix back in Shadybug and Claw Noir’s world, I did wonder what might have been going on with him. Poor kid, he managed to have it even worse than he did in canon. I really loved seeing his interactions with Luka, the Couffaines rebel through kindness it seems!

Front Page News by @tiredfloridianbutverygay
Nadja couldn't sleep at night, not when there were still so many unanswered questions about the final battle. How did the Alliance rings seem to have the exact answer, to know exactly what to say?
Why did they turn everyone into a Miraculous-powered army? Why was Gabriel asking everyone to join with Monarch to help capture Ladybug and Cat Noir?
It was time to get to the bottom of this, and Paris' best investigative journalist was on the case! No stone would be left unturned and Paris would never be the same.
This one’s a pretty unique follow-up to the season 5 finale! I love Alya and Nadja investigating to try and figure out what happened with Monarch and exposing the truth, people deserve to know.

Friends who kiss by @kuromori4
It’s been about a week since Shadybug and Claw Noir’s goody-two shoes alternate universe counterparts convinced them to betray the Supreme and join the Resistance. And while they are determined to be better… It hasn’t been easy. While both Shadybug and Claw Noir have a lifetime of problems to untangle if they want to be good people, they realize a new look doesn’t magically make you a nice person. As if that weren’t hard enough to deal with, the two ex-Villains struggle with defining what their new relationship might be.
I love the two of them talking things out, and struggling. Shadybug in particular is still very prickly and prone to making snide comments about Adrien, even though she doesn’t really know him, and she still hasn’t totally come to terms with her own true feelings about Claw Noir. Though by the end they um. Figure that out, I guess you could say XD.

Dragon by @liiinerle
Tomoe keeps telling Kagami about the importance of her heritage, but refuses to tell her what that heritage is. When Kagami looks it up for herself, she finds a lot of interesting information, a lot of frustration, and a deep and burning question - which Tomoe refuses to help her answer.
This is a Kagami character study, with Kagami questioning her mother’s actions, but knowing that standing up to her is a no-win proposition. It doesn’t help that D’Argencourt’s mirroring some aspects of her mother’s behavior, with being upset if she doesn’t fight well, but also being upset if she beats him. There’s no right answer here, which leads her to take out her frustration on others. Luckily, Marinette’s there to calm her down, to talk things out with her.

adrien agreste and the consequences of tweets making fun of yourself by Anonymous
Well, Adrien thinks, what’s the worst that could come from a few poorly thought-out tweets lightly ribbing his own civilian identity?
I love the focus here on how people just assume what Adrien’s thinking and feeling and act on his behalf, without actually waiting to see what HE wants, and Adrien’s growing frustration. How they create a version of him in their heads, but don’t care to check with reality to see whether he actually wants their “defense”.
---
Spin the Bottle by @kasienda
When the bottle cap comes to a stop dead center on Nino, Adrien’s both relieved and somehow more anxious.
His first kiss - not his actual first kiss, but still kinda his first kiss - the first kiss he will remember, will be with someone he deeply cares about.
But Adrien also cares what Nino thinks of him, so what if he’s a terrible kisser?
Nino offers him a reassuring smile, and he relaxes. Adrien glances at Alya for permission, and she just shoos him towards Nino.
Adrien turns to Nino, leaning closer. If his stomach had been squirming before, it now feels like a half dozen Kwamis have taken up residence in his gut. But Adrien doesn’t hesitate. He blocks out the presence of all of his friends watching, and instead focuses on Nino - like Nino is a stage partner in a photoshoot.
Except kissing Nino is nothing like a photoshoot.
...
Adrien kisses Nino in a game of Spin the Bottle, and then neither can stop thinking about it. Alya really likes how flustered her boyfriend is by all this. Marinette though, can't handle it and keeps running away.
This is a great Alya X Adrien X Nino X Marinette poly fic! I love them all talking out their feelings and realizing new things about themselves. Alya’s instrumental and bringing everyone together, though she, herself, is also nervous about confessing to her longstanding crush XD
---
a rose by any other name by @asukiess
Adrien's scared Loveybug only loves Catwalker.
Loveybug's scared Chat Noir only loves her, and not Ladybug.
How does the rest of the saying go again?
So obviously, this is part of the Loveybug AU, where Marinette gets stressed by her responsibilities as Ladybug and wanting to get away from that persona, and adopts a new persona as Loveybug, complete with a new transformation. This is a really good glimpse of this AU, I really love the Ladrien (Lovedrien?) especially, with her talking out her conundrum with Adrien.

The Two-Body Problem by @mixelation
Good news: they now knew how the akuma’s power worked, and the akuma had run off and given them time to regroup.
Bad news: the akuma’s power meant she was now in Chat Noir’s body, and Chat Noir was in her body. Her body, which was currently still Marinette.
Ah, I love a good body swap. This is set while Adrien and Marinette are dating, so he can’t help flirting with Marinette a little, even in these circumstances - which is a bit of a problem since Marinette doesn’t realize he’s her boyfriend. And also they’re in each other’s bodies, which makes it feel weird.
And then there’s the whole “someone is gonna need to use the Ladybug Miraculous” problem. It’s not as if Chat KNOWS that he currently has her Miraculous in his earlobes...

Windows 5 + 1 by @dadplagg-mamatikki
A bet between Kim and Alix trigger a chain reactions of events where Adrien jumps out of windows.
I love this. Adrien needs very little prompting to jump out of windows, heck he’ll do it with NO prompting, it’s hilarious XD. Heck he even asked whether Kim would prefer a normal jump or a theatrical one! It’s really not that surprising though, considering how we’ve seen Adrien dive from the top of his rock-climbing wall onto his couch.

“Are you absolutely certain? What was he like last year?”
“Well, he —”
Marinette furrowed her brow, scanning her own memories. Of course she was absolutely certain. At least, she thought she was.
Okay — she could not ignore that Adrien had run away from home that night, wandering the snow-covered streets to escape the freezing cold of his own home. Nor could she brush away the disintegrated Morris column, cataclysmed for the crime of bearing his own face.
Oh, and the shaky videos circulating on YouTube. That musical number was… Concerning, to say the least. Still, it was no smoking gun.
Right?
“Oh my god,” she squeaked, plopping down against the counter. “Adrien hates Christmas.”
I love Marinette and Felix doing their best to cheer Adrien up, it’s adorable. Especially Marinette’s attempt. It’s very Marinette, I laughed out loud XD. There’s a lot of senticousin bonding here, so if you like that, this is a good one to check out!

A Shadyverse Holiday by @lucid-ao3
The duo's curiosity grew after the encounter with their alternate selves from the Shadyverse. What was this other world like, and how were Shadybug and Claw Noir doing in the aftermath of their visit?
It's the polite thing to do, after all, for a superhero team to check in on their parallel universe counterparts and wish them happy holidays.
That is, if there's any happiness to find...
[In which Ladybug and Chat Noir take a holiday trip to the Shadyverse.]
I love this glimpse of the Reverse World, and how it makes Ladybug and Chat Noir question whether their own is really so different, if things could have turned out in their own world the way they did in the Reverse World - for better or worse.

what makes a human (am I?) by GraceM_TheStoriedLife
Adrien comes to Marinette's out of nowhere. Usually Chat is her rock. Tonight, it's her turn. (Or, in which Adrien discovers some secrets he's not prepared for and Marinette is as Marinette-y as always.
So Adrien discovers he’s a sentimonster and immediately runs to Marinette for support. It’s as cute and angsty as you’d expect. She is, of course, very supportive of him. Also some discussion of Gabriel being abusive, since both she and Nino had been trying to get Adrien to see that. Especially with how, exactly, Adrien found out he’s a sentimonster. He can relate a little better to Felix’s experiences now than is healthy, I’ll just say.

Caught In A Multimouse Trap by @a-flaming-idiot
Adrien was having a rather slow morning. That was until he discovered a tiny superhero trapped in his home and decides to be a bit of a hero even out of his suit.
This was adorable! Adrien does his best to care for the little miniature superhero caught in a mousetrap, bandaging her up as best as he can (thankfully only her tail got caught so it’s more of a phantom pain than an actual injury) and just... it’s really cute.

fine line by @bbutterflies
“Catwalker?” Loveybug asks.
“Hmm?”
“Do you remember… what happened before us?”
“What do you mean?”
“Before we were heroes. Was there someone else?”
Catwalker goes quiet for a moment. “I don’t know,” he finally says.
This is a surprisingly angsty take on the Loveybug AU. Here, since the Loveybug and Cat Walker transformations are so unnatural, they’re having negative side effects on Marinette and Adrien, causing them to be constantly exhausted and even to get amnesia the longer they continue using them.

You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess by @mexicancat-girl
With Team Miraculous now full-time holders, Ladybug has them patrolling in pairs like her and Chat Noir.
New partners Pigella and Purple Tigress get along phenomenally, their easy banter and similar wavelengths making working with each other a joy in and out of combat.
But sometimes Tigress is surprised just how close she is with her partner. Sometimes she tries not to feel too guilty thinking about it.
There’s some nice Julerose here! I love them kinda getting into a lovesquare with each other, though it’s not as much of a problem as it is in canon since it’s reciprocal in every relationship and they’re both down for a poly. It’s fun, and I love the “Luka attempting to woo some of his love interests” plot going on in the background XD.

Plans Aren’t Everything by BeeRye
Feeling a bit fed up with constantly having her dates with Marinette cut short, Kagami sets aside some time in order to plan the perfect outing for the two of them. Despite being the holder of the Miraculous of the Black Cat, she believes one day of romance isn't too much to ask for. As long as she treats it all like she does everything else in her life, the results she wants should come to pass.
She doesn't quite know what to do if that ends up not being the case.
This was adorable and captured Kagami’s mindset well, she decided, rather optimistically that she could just brute force the date into going well. Unfortunately, that’s not gonna stop Hawk Moth. Fortunately, Marinette has her own back-up plans...

Given all of this kwami swap talk as well as you explaining how nonsensical it was to hand out the exact two Miraculous that Hawkmoth was looking for to the heroes meant to directly fight his akuma, I’d love to pick your brain about how you think the story would’ve gone if Master Fu gave Marinette the canon Dragon Miraculous and Adrien the canon Turtle Miraculous in Origins instead as well as them having Longg and Wayzz respectively to bounce off of from the get-go. Beyond me loving a classic sword-and-shield combo, I figure that this would still give Marinette the leading stance while giving Adrien the defensive stance in battle, which I personally don’t have a problem with when executed well given Adrien’s issues with self-control in deciding when and on what/whom to use Cataclysm and strategizing in general. In addition to that, having Shellter as Adrien’s power and Wayzz as his kwami would force him to take his and his partner’s disposition in battle seriously from the get-go, with Wayzz being heavily implied to be a kwami that prefers to take his time and thoroughly explain what needs to be done, meaning Adrien would have to show Wayzz that he really understands what he needs to do before getting the transformation phrase out of him.
On Marinette’s side of things, Longg is actually canonically confirmed from his first interaction with Kagami to be a kwami that prefers to take his time and thoroughly explain what needs to be done, which would lead to Marinette being calm enough from his explanation of what’s happening and what her job is to actually remember getting Stoneheart’s akuma the first time without any problems. This is especially in comparison to Tikki who, after Marinette tried to run what she said back to her with a clear lack of full understanding and confidence, even saying verbatim “Aww... this is all going too fast, Tikki... I... won't be able to pull this off!”, simply responds with “Trust yourself, Marinette. Just say ‘Spots on’.” without any further clarification or rerun.
Concerning actually cleansing the akuma, since lightning and especially water have far more cleansing symbolism than creation, either could easily act as the purification of akuma. Lightning could either burn away the negative magic corrupting akumas or burn the akuma itself to ash, which would also deplete Hawkmoth’s collection of butterflies at the time (though Marinette probably wouldn’t like the second option since they’re technically living creatures). An alternative would be Water “washing away” the negative magic in the akuma (while I’m mostly sure that akuma have been sent out in the rain before, Wind could be used to dry off the butterflies before they drown/so their wings aren’t damaged in case I’m misremembering and they’re like normal butterflies in that they can’t get wet). I know I specifically asked for your analysis on the canon Miraculous being given out, and while I would still like that I’m okay with fudging the Dragon JUST this much since it already has established advantages over other Miraculous, a minor wielder not detransforming until all three powers are used instead of just one for example. And while the restoration of Miraculous Ladybug would no longer be an option from the jump, I’m honestly cool with that this far into watching the show as it would push the Parisian officials to get off their butts and actually try to solve the magical terrorist issue WITH the heroes instead of expecting them to just manage everything.
You're actually hitting real close to my "fix" for the dragon with the whole sword-and-shield thing because I absolutely think that the dragon and the turtle should have been a matched set of sorts. I don't like the fact that only the ladybug and the black cat get paired up. I want all of the Kwamis to be part of some sort of set (doesn't need to be a set of two! Just a set). However, I don't see how a sword-and-shield combo fits Adrien and Marinette or how this miraculous pairing would work in the context of canon, though that may just be because I'm missing something. I'll give you why this isn't clicking for me and you can do with that what you will. Do not let me stop you from writing this fic or loving this concept! Fan theories are about having fun, not about appealing to me. I'm only giving you all of this because you asked for my thoughts. Don't feel obligated to read it if it makes you sad.
For me, Marinette's defining feature is her creativity and this setup removes that or at least heavily cuts it back. While you can be creative with the dragon's powers, they're basically just elemental speed boosts which isn't useful in most situations unless we're going to allow akumas to get electrocuted now.
The fights would also become a lot less unique as the heroes are now limited to a shield and the three flavors of elemental speed boost. Those aren't exactly the most diverse powersets in the world, especially given that the elemental thing requires you to physically charge in. You're not casting elemental abilities like a wizard. This new setup could still work if you nerfed the butterfly and made it so that the akumas didn't have such a wide variety of powers, but as-is, that doesn't sound like a balanced fight. The heroes feel too heavily disadvantaged and limited, especially given that they're now both close combat style fighters while akumas can still be ranged.
There's also the issue that Marinette isn't suited to close combat fighting. She has no training in any form of combat sport. Between her and Adrien, it seems more logical to give him the dragon, not her. He's the fencer, after all, and the dragon's weapon is that sudo sword baton thing. Adrien's also better suited to close combat fighting in terms of narrative role while removing Marinette's ranged abilities would further undermine her current role.
In terms of fighting styles, canon's setup is that Adrien does close combat and distraction techniques while Marinette sticks to long range attacks so that she has time to think. This is a really solid dynamic because it lets Marinette be creative. Making Marinette a close combat fighter would drastically limit her ability to be creative because you don't have time to be creative when you're doing that style of fighting. Your brain is simply too focused on survival (saying this as someone who fenced for several years). This is why tacticians are usually at the back of the battlefield relaying orders. You don't tend to send them to the front lines if you can help it.
The final issue with Marinette having the dragon in a canon setup is that I really don't think that you can get away with removing the magical reset button that is her ladybug cure. There are simply way too many akumas that cause mass destruction and even implied death. You'd have to massively nerf the akumas for this change to feel reasonable as it's not a minor change in stakes or tone. Akumas like Syren or The Bubbler would be impossible and you can never let anyone get injured because they now had to heal on a normal timeline, meaning that Adrien would probably end up sidelined before the end of season one.
While I get the desire to have the authorities step in and help more, your theory that the officials would work with the heroes doesn't really match what we've seen in canon or what tends to happen in these sorts of stories. The more likely setup is for the officials to work on solving the case without the heroes help or with the heroes only supplying the occasional tip/coming when summoned via something like the bat signal because, generally speaking, what information can the heroes really give them? Plus that setup requires the heroes and the government officials to have some sort of clear and open line of communication or standard meeting cadence, which is pretty risky and also ads at least one adult character who is now a major player in the story. An adult character who has this as their full time job while the teens are in school unless we're aging everyone up and letting the heroes be available during normal business hours or setting the story during summer vacation?
We've mostly focused on the dragon here, so let's take a moment to talk about the turtle. I do like Adrien as a backup user for the turtle, but you'd have to change the turtle up a bit if you wanted to make it his full-time role. Chat Noir is an incredibly dynamic fighter who jumps around the battlefield via a mix of acrobatics and his staff. Carapace's fighting style is much more tanky with him just holding up the shield and watching for opportunities to move in and defend with his power. This makes perfect sense and would be true for any turtle because of the turtle's weapon and power set. A shield is not suited to offense unless you make it work like Captain America's shield where it's a mix between a shield and a boomerang. For a normal shield, throwing it is a one-time use weapon. It's also not an offensive weapon, so Adrien would be heavily limited in terms of how he could fight.
And if we switch the turtle to Marinette? Then we're back to the whole limited-creativity thing. The turtle's power isn't meant for defeating villains. It's meant for protecting allies and civilians. Whoever is wielding it needs to be watching the fight, looking for risks. They can't give most of their attention to plotting how to win.
All that being said, I really like using the dragon and the turtle to flesh out the team. I think the turtle being the third member of the existing team would make total sense as a way to solve Chat Noir's self-sacrifice problem. You could also replace the black cat with the dragon and make it dragon!Adrien, Ladybug, and a turtle holder, but I'm not really seeing a functional version of canon that removes the Ladybug. It would be a wildly different story.
You asked about the Kwamis, too, so let's end on that!
Wayzz and Longg seem like solid mentors who could arguably replace Tikki without massively changing the feel of the story, but I'm hesitant to replace Plagg. Plagg's got one of the strongest personalities in canon and is the source of a lot of comedy to the point where his poor movie treatment upset a lot of people. Straight up removing him and replacing him with more serious Kwami would change that element of canon even more and I don't know if it would be a good change. Plagg and Tikki's opposing personalities give you a lot to work with. Wayzz and Longg would be way less dynamic and interesting as they're both responsible and calm.
We also have to keep in mind that a lot of Tikki and Plagg's flaws come from the fast pace of the show. Tikki rushed Marinette in Origins because the writers wanted to fit everything into 40 minutes and also establish why Marinette needed to cleans the butterflies in every episode, so they had Marinette and Adrien get their miraculous during the first akuma attack and then mess that up to establish the show's stakes. If they'd been given their miraculous even a day earlier, then things would have gone a lot smoother as Tikki would have had time to fully explain things since no one was in danger. This rushed stakes issue would apply to any Kwami who was handed out during an attack. After all, Wayzz and Longg don't exactly get to give Nino and Kagami detailed explanations when they were chosen either. If Adrien got the dragon or the turtle mid-battle, then I picture things going very similar to Kagami getting the dragon:
Longg: Greetings, young lady and good day to you. Fear not, I am Longg, the Dragon Kwami. Kagami: You're a what? Longg: A Kwa-mi... Allow me to tell you about the many feats that a magic being like myself will help you accomplish once the magic words have been spoken. (Kagami puts on the Miraculous) Ladybug has hopes that you will defeat Ikari Gozen with panache, using the element of your choosing. Wind, water or lightning. But firstly, let me tell you about her plan. Kagami: Longg, bring the storm! Longg: Wait! No! Not yet!
After all, that's basically what happened in Origins:
Plagg: Claws out! That's how you transform. Adrien: Got it. Plagg, claws out! Plagg: No, wait! I haven't finished explaining!--- (enters the ring)

So, with the new special coming up with Shadybug and Claw Noir, I’ve gotta ask, what are Scarlet Beetle, Ikati Black, Monarch, and Prince Paon’s alternate selves like?
Blood Beetle
Cold, calculated, greedy, and just a little bit flirty with his “Kitten.”
He works out so he’s stronger than his opponents and can easily snap them like twigs
This guy does NOT care about the lives of innocents, as long as he’s got the cash and jewels he stole, then he’s fine
Will not hesitate to put people in danger if it means getting his way, and makes people BEG him on their knees to use his Miracle Cure…
… Only to not use it
And quick thing to remember: Unless you have a death wish, never try to flirt with Ikati Bleak
When he’s not Blood Beetle, Kim is tormenting people at DuPont Dormitory For Wayward Teens for cash and breaking every PDA rule with Max
He was sent to DuPont for attacking just about anyone who looked at him funny
“Kitten~ Steal that gem for me, would you, baby?”
“Ugh! It’s not my fault this light weight can’t take a punch!”
“Come on… Beg me, and maybe I’ll fix your shit city.”
Ikati Bleak
Ikati Bleak is extremely smart and knows how to get in your head. Never trust him
He’s the brains behind every robbery committed by himself and his “Blood Bug.”
He can easily hack into the government and cause all sorts of mass destruction with the push of a button if civilians step out of line
Like Blood Beetle, he doesn’t care about the lives of other people, seeing them as only stepping stones in their path towards total domination
Whatever Blood Beetle desires, he is more than happy to do whatever it takes to make him happy
Enjoys using his cataclysm on famous landmarks and important artifacts
As Max, he’s deceitful, gets a thrill out of using his intellect against others, and uses his tech skills to torment the student body
Max was sent to DuPont for hacking into the grade books and ruining everyone’s GPAs just for the hell of it
“Whatever my Blood Bug wants, he gets.”
“Ruining lives is just no fun when they don’t cry.”
“One little button. That’s all it takes to see your city turn to dust.”
Emperor
One word… Insane
Emperor has no goal other than to cause mass chaos and make all who stand before him kneel at his feet
He turns people into Akumas against their will and uses psychological and/or emotional torture to make them comply
He forces them to steal, cause property damage, and attack a few people he doesn’t like
He only has a soft spot for Prince Pain and will drop everything to just kiss his hand
As Nathaniel, he’s just as unhinged as Emperor. People would say he has a Napoleon Complex, but the last person to say that mysteriously fell down the stairs
Note: Nathaniel hates it when people even imply that he’s inferior
Those at his last school were relieved when the School Tyrant finally left
“Princey, allow me torment this undesirable for you, darling.”
“Aw~ Why so serious? And here I thought we were having so much fun.”
“Oh, I have ways of making you comply, dear.”
Prince Pain
He’s every bit of crazy as Emperor, but braver. He’s jumped off the top of the Eiffel Tower and landed on the back of a winged Senticreature
This guy only has a soft spot for Emperor and his babies
He can’t bear to part with them, so he lets them run around Paris, destroying everything in sight on a weekly basis
He’d never send an Amok after a civilian, becuase then they can turn his Senticreature against him!
He’s got the personality of Evil!Spinel with a bit of Harley Quinn mixed in there, always clapping and laughing when someone gets hurt
He will follow Emperor to the ends of the earth for no reason other than to cause chaos with him
Marc was sent to DuPont because there was no mental facility that would take him
“Hear that, babies? Other daddy is proud of you, my little weapons of mass destruction!”
“Voices in my head say I’m perfectly normal like any other person.”
“I don’t like the words your saying… Do you need your tongue removed?”

Thoughts on Miraculous World: London – At The Edge of Time
Miraculous Specials generally have no bearing on the plot. Think about Miraculous New York and Miraculous Shanghai, they could've been never produced and the narrative would've been exactly the same for it. Even the well-written Miraculous Paris have no influence on the main narrative except, perhaps, giving the Adrien and Marinette some perspective which they might never show. I don't think either of them are going to discuss that time their alternate selves came into their world again.
But Miraculous London surprised me. I had a lot of people asking me what I thought of it, because the writing turns out to be quality, and I agree.
I think the writers wanted to start Season 6 off with a bang, they didn't want to deal with all the nitty-gritty and the 'closing up of loose ends' at what is meant to be a fresh beginning. So they created Miraculous London in order complete the first arc of Miraculous, the Gabriel Agreste Arc, even though the story was not set in London. London appeared briefly, as a guest location. The special would've been more suitable named as Miraculous World: Bunnyx's Burrow – Spying on the Timeline.
Firstly, it's pretty lame that Lila cannot change the rules of Akumatisation. Who made up this concrete rule that Akumas have to forget everything they did? I always assumed it was because the people were being taken advantage of without their consent so their memory is purged once the infection is lifted, but even for people who were Akumatised willingly?? Even for the Butterfly Miraculous Holder themselves?? I think this just comes down to plot convenience.
Marinette, who usually goes into hysterics when faced with failure or impossible situations (think the end of Season 4), is disturbingly calm as she goes to free Kagami and Adrien.
This change of attitude, change of reaction, symbolises a growth in her character, a development that is forced upon her. And Marinette demonstrates her ability to lead and compartmentalise by stoically accepting the brutal responsibility.
I will commend the writers for portraying Adrien's grief very well.
Also, I'm pretty sure this pose is meant to reference Evangelion, it's far too close. And we all know Monsieur Astruc is an anime nerd.
The breaking of the background and the colour scale going to black-and-white (left) to represent his numbness and landslide loneliness is quite revolutionary for Miraculous' animation, which, famously, has stuck to the same, increasingly uninventive models and sets.
Lying to Adrien, at this point, however, is also plot convenience.
Bug Noire rationalises it pretty well in the special, explaining to Nathalie coherently why no one should tell Adrien the truth. But it's not a logical thing to do. Do they plan to keep lying to Adrien forever? Never reveal the true identity of Papillon, till the day he dies? Nathalie plans on taking this information to the grave? Marinette intends to marry and have children with a man that she keeps the truth of his own father from?
Marinette thinking that this is the best thing to do – placing everything on her shoulders in a desperate attempt to shelter Adrien – makes sense. She's young, she's self-loathing, she tends to make rash decisions where she takes the brunt of the damage. Nathalie not telling the truth to the authorities so she can continue to act as Adrien's legal guardian, I personally would've advised for to make that decision. But Nathalie agreeing with Bug Noire's hare-brained scheme is implausible. She's a grown woman who should've learned, at this point, that keeping the truth from someone, especially a truth as crucial as this, is not going to work out.
Again, do they plan on lying to Adrien for the rest of his life? How is Marinette supposed to carry on when their children start asking her and Adrien about the late Grandfather Gabriel? The fandom enjoys bringing up Chat Blanc as an excuse for not telling Adrien anything, but I don't think we're all remembering that episode correctly. Adrien wasn't driven to madness by the weight of secrets, he was forced during that episode to act by Gabriel under duress. Given time, space, and understanding, he can absorb this new, hitting truth without world-ending dramatics.
Perhaps Nathalie is lying and reassuring Bug Noire's frayed mental state by pretending she's going to adhere to her plan but is secretly planning on telling Adrien after a few months when things die down. I sure hope so. Because everyone – Nathalie, Marinette, Félix, Kagami – in his life all banding together to lie to Adrien is overkill and plain ridiculous. I fully support Adrien becoming a supervillain when he finds out, because what the hell.
In brighter news, I love the design of 60 years old Alix. The glasses, the fur-lined waistcoat, the black bowtie – gorgeous. They're leaning more into the Alice in Wonderland theme the older Alix gets. I'm pretty sure Fluff is inspired by the White Rabbit. A bunny with time-travelling powers whose Miraculous is a waistwatch? Someone on the writing team reads Victorian literature.
Also, after repetitive seasons of unnecessary fillers, I love how Lila gets started on a plan straight away. Like I said, I'm surprised by how relevant Miraculous London is, it jumps right into the plot. Lila, of course, isn't like Gabriel. She's not going to waste time making grand plans, casting illusions. She knows what she wants and she's heading straight for it.
Chronobug getting a neat little gold finish after wearing Bunnyx's fluorescent vest was fun. I love how yellow she is, and all her spots are illuminated with a diamond glitter effect. It reminds me of the 22-spot ladybug and of the old power-up edits artists created for Marinette post-Season 2.
I do have to wonder – was that fluorescent vest a special material? I doubt it, because at the end of the special, when Marinette de-transforms and casts her healing magic, you like see the vest floating away like a discarded plastic bag. Interesting thing that fanfic writers might want to incorporate into their stories, apparently the colour of the parka your characters wear may determine the colour of their battle-suit.
I really, really liked this shot.
It's the small details that really let you know how much effort the writers put into their story. One of my biggest irks about the negligence of small details in Miraculous comes from this magazine cover in Season 4's Optigami:
Where the subtitles and headings are nonsense Latin. The writers couldn't be bothered to change it to the most generic statement: Adrien Agreste Shocks In Teal was the bare minimum they could've done. They could've described what he was wearing, and they chose to do nothing. This always bothered me, because for all that Miraculous started as a single man's passion project, I'm not seeing a whole lot of passion in it. I can't see soul. The fact that the writers are willing to skip out on small details like this tells me of the lack of focus they're putting into the visual media.
But that scene, where Chronobug slides under her desk – you know those video games where the set are completely untouchable? You're an avatar who always get prevented by a forcefield when you try to go near a desk? That's what the animation of Miraculous always seemed like to me, the characters can't interact with their surroundings, and that only cements the uncanny effect. Chronobug being able to go under her desk is such a small but relieving detail. It make her world feels more real.
Goofy-ahh pose.
Real talk: I love how well-thought out Ghost's power is, especially compared to her more combat-able alternate, Timestalker (? for this name, I had to find it out from the Miraculous Wiki. Really? Timestalker? That was the best they could come up with? To be fair, I was criticising Miraculous for not being literal just a paragraph ago...). Ghost's only ability is to phase through solid objects, and it's perfect for her mission to retrieve all the Miraculous. She can't fight, because she doesn't need to fight. It's her purpose and her defence against any pesky heroes that comes her way, and it highlights Lila's caution and her dedication to her task.
Unlike Gabriel, who's often so lost in his own emotions (think of the many times he insisted on going after Ladybug even though Chat Noir's Miraculous is right there, or in the episode Evolution when he could've saved Emilie but chose to pursue Ladybug in revenge instead), Lila is filled with rage, but she's capable of separating her feelings from her goal. It makes her much more calculating and dangerous than Gabriel.
That being said: what on Earth is Lila's goal? What did she Wish for? Did she already knew about the Miraculous, and that's why she went after? How did she come to uncover Gabriel's undercover identity as Monarque? Season 5 never explained it, Lila just finds out off-screen. Although the special does wrap up loose ends, it doesn't answer everything. I always thought that Lila was just an opportunistic girl who lies to get what she wants, but turns out she has three identities? The theory that she's a time traveller from the future who came back to defeat Ladybug before she reaches her prime still stands, but I can't decide whether or not I want the writers to head in that direction.
Watching the trailer, I thought Félix was Ghost, or that the special would be related to him in some way, seeing that he lives in London, but Félix wasn't even mentioned.
I hope we get to see a lot more of Félix in Season 6, I hope that his relationship with Adrien gets more development. I'm fascinated with sibling (or cousin) relationships, because it's been an integral part of my personal life, and it's a relationship I always zero in on in any media I consume.
This line from Ladybug is incorrect:
"There's nothing I can do [against Ghost]".
She can take all the Miraculous before Ghost gets to them, but the point stands that for the sake of the plot, she has to prevent Ghost from ever discovering her identity.
I can't believe they mentioned Troublemaker, as if Miraculous has a linear storyline. For so long, Miraculous' episodic format has haunted it, all development is wiped away at the start of the next episode and the characters never grow. Miraculous likes to pretend it's linear, but that aspiration is busted when you realise that means twelve days canonically passed between the Christmas Special of Season 1 and the celebration of King's Day in Dearest Family in Season 4. I hope this mention of the past means that there will be less focus on filler and more on telling a relevant story in Season 6.
I don't understand why Ladybug can't take the Butterfly Miraculous when she saw it dangling at the edge of the catwalk over the pool in Gabriel's underground tomb. What set future events is she disturbing? Lila making a Wish is a set future event, but it's okay to disturb that but not okay to prevent her from ever getting her mitts on the Butterfly Miraculous? The story picks and chooses what's allowed and what's not, I can't figure out the rules around it.
Also, Gabriel made his wish to save Nathalie? Wow. I did not expect that. So, Gabriel did wise up a little at the end. Emilie is not going to return for Season 6, she has completely passed away, and it is Amélie we saw at the end of Re-Creation. Season 6 really is going to be a clean slate, none of the major antagonistic figures of the old will have a role in it. I hope this means the writers have paved a well-thought way for Lila, and she truly is going to shine as a villain.
That being sad; how can Lila use the Butterfly Miraculous limitlessly? The special shows her acting two different Akumas on herself without exertion. While she is still proven to be a child? Her ability to utilise its power is also adroit, how is she managing that? How is she literally using the Butterfly Miraculous better in six hours than Gabriel has managed for a full year? This supports the theory that Lila is a future Butterfly Miraculous Holder who came back in time because how else is her familiarity and confidence supposed to be explained?
Tell Adrien the truth. I cannot emphasise this enough. Miscommuncation is a dull, dull plot point. I don't want to see characters fumbling around each other like blindfolded men. I want to see them try their best and still fail. It's more terrifying that way, it's more impactful.
This horror segment is done pretty well:
When Chronobug widens her eyes and the music reaches that low, horror movie-esque strings. The terror that hits her as she realises that the lights are supposed to be off by default. This is a clever way of demonstrating her deductive skills because it's a deduction the audience can make alongside her. We watched at the beginning of the special how Ladybug stepped into the stairway filled with light and we assumed that was the norm with it. It's only until the lights turned off after Ladybug's exit that you realised: hey, that's not right. It means someone entered just before we did!
Real clever. This is a bit of actual intelligence. Miraculous is usually filled with convolution schemes that had no realism, so it makes Marinette's intelligence seem a little far-fetched. How can anyone (adult viewers, especially) buy Ladybug's cleverness when her plans of trapping Akumas with a spoon and a towel is plain ridiculous? But this is real, this is possible. A Sherlock Holmes moment, which Bunnyx even explicitly referenced.
More evidence supporting that Lila is a Future Butterfly Miraculous Holder, her identity as Timestalker more than a fair physical for Ladybug.
Akumas usually fail to get the upper hand on Ladybug when they go melee one-on-one with her, but Timestalker managed to successfully repel Ladybug. The choreograph was really well done.
This shot, where Chronobug and Bunnyx are highlighted as two bright but tiny splotches on a pure white landscape, it really screams This isn't over. You are still puny, you have no idea what you're in for. Meaningful visual storytelling. It's them against the big, wide world.
Lila has such a cute set-out here. I like that she purchased all watches that she used as her Akumatised object, and they seem like pretty expensive watches too, if they came with their own gift boxes. Her brown leather shoulder bag is adorable, and I like that she has a stand for her notebook. This is a sophisticated girl who knows the importance of presentation.
I'm going to lose it. Remember what I said about the writers not caring about the small details? What is the writing at the top of the page supposed to be? Viking runes? They couldn't be bothered to spend ten minutes recounting the story in word form?
I love how angry Lila's voice gets, how it trembles as she says "Why did I write that? Did something go wrong with my PLAN?" We're starting to see elements of her real personality, her quick fury, her violent temper. She's a perfectionist, and despite her low exam scores, meticulous in planning and quite intelligent, enough to be a match for Ladybug, until she had to settle for a stalemate rather than a complete victory.
Neither of them won anything. Ladybug still doesn't have the Butterfly Miraculous and Lila doesn't have her identity.
Whenever we see Lila post-Confrontation, she's always dressed up in some disguise or the other, to fool people. This is the first time we've seen her where she has no need to camoflauge herself. So, is this what Lila actually looks like? She has pale blonde hair and lavender eyes? Her outfit is also super cute, serving private school in a V-neck woollen blouse, white shirt, and pleated skirt. It looks quite similar to the leaked Season 6 concept art of Lila where she looks like she's going to sell me Girl Scout cookies.
So, I think the resemblance in the outfit means that this leaked concept art is genuine, as the eye and hair colour and outfit match (they're even saving money by keeping Lila's tights and re-colouring her boots).
I wonder how Lila's voice actor feels. Did she always knew she was going to have a big role? Lila had one appearance in Season 1, vanished for the entirety of Season 2, and while enjoyed better representation in Season 4+5, it's nowhere close to Gabriel's once-in-a-episode cameo. If the same format plays out for Lila Butterfly, that means Lila will be appearing once in an episode. I look forward to that, I think Lisa Kay Jennings has a beautiful voice for Lila; soulful and sly.
Finally: why does Miraculous Holders have a ridiculous amount of power over the Kwami? It doesn't make sense. Canonically, Kwami are the physical form of abstract concepts. The Miraculous is nothing more than a vessel for their power to be channelled through, so that the Miraculous Holder can wield their abilities. It's not some sort of collar, and it certainly doesn't explain why Gabriel can mute Nooroo and how Lila can just freeze him in a single snap. Why does the narrative keep insisting that these forces older than Earth are childish and incapable and naïve? I feel like the Kwami shouldn't even care about humanity, not because they're evil, but because they don't understand and they don't want to understand. Human civilisation will, after all, pass in the blink of an eye for them. Instead, they're so concerned with little things like secret identities. Yes, I know the answer is because it's a cartoon. It's still not a well-written plausbility.
The London Special does a great job adding facets to Marinette. She cares, but she's short-sighted. She tries her best, but she's still not enough. She's so empathetic, she's selfish. She considers everyone, to the point that it goes back to what is most convenient for herself. I don't like Marinette – I think that anyone who follows me for a length and read my stories can tell – but I still respect her character and give her credit where it's due. And she is wonderfully five-dimensional.
The story goes over-the-top at proving her brilliance sometimes, however. Why does Marinette have the ability to re-make the Miraculous? It took Gabriel Agreste an unholy amount of research, money, privacy, and technology to melt the Miraculous down into his rings. You're telling me that Marinette can undo all that with spare equipment she found around her bedroom? What?
Just in general, the London Special was really good. All my mutuals were right, there are issue, but the writing is quality. This gives me hope for Season 6 (and expectations too, unfortunately), and I hope that the story will continue to move forward.
Also, regarding the animation, I found out from its Miraculous Wiki page that it was done by SAMG which, sadly, we may not be seeing them anymore, as Season 6 is supposed to be animated entirely by Dwarf Animation, a French company, who also produced the Miraculous film. I'm glad that Zag Toon is finally keeping it local. Out-sourcing their animation work to multiple different international companies not only means that the quality is inconsistent and that the episode order is whack, but it also spells some pretty ugly intentions for their corporation too. Mainly that they don't care about art, but keeping things cheap. Miraculous already looks pretty cheap. If I didn't know any better, I would say it seems to be a small indie series; with its uninspiring models, lack of extra characters (featuring a completely empty Paris), but Miraculous is one of the most popular animated shows, shows in general in the world. They're making bank on merchandising and streaming. So, why does none of that profit shows in their animation? What Dwarf did for the Miraculous movie was spectacular, and I can only hope they'll bring that level of quality to its main series.

Does anyone else feel like its weird that Miraculous Ladybug acts like I should be fine with Adrien's mom dying? and that's its wrong to try to save her?
Like....fridging trope aside.....Arguable Gabe has the most sympathetic reasoning for wanting to become a villain...he is trying to get the ladybug and Chat noir miraculous to make a wish to fix/heal his wife out of her coma which she only entered due to Magic from using a broken Peacock.
His plan makes sense...he can't go to a guardian for help because he doesn't know fu exists at that point and all the other guardians are gone. He's rich so had already used all the science money can buy plus anything he can glean from their not properly translated miraculous book, and its not working. And he clearly had tried to find the miraculous by normal means but couldn't find it outside of narrowing it down to France(unless the plan was that the TV would showcase his akuma villain so the miraculous holders would be activated and come find them from afar which also works).
So, the only way to find the creation and destruction miraculous was to use the pattern shown through history that if a villain appeared that the cat and ladybug miraculous would be activated to deal with it. He pretends to be a villain, amplifies his own negative emotions and simplifies what he wants so it's easier to project it on his victim. He chooses negative emotions because someone vulnerable will be more likely to say yes as he still needs consent, and a villain is the best option to get attention and draw them out. Then he would get the chance to steal the miraculous...which then he could release the victim (who wouldn't know what they did minimizing trauma) where he could reverse all the damage with the newly stolen creation miraculous.
and he knows if he loses the damage would be reversed by the ladybug anyway. and by showing his hawkmoth persona people have someone to blame aside from his Akuma victim. and Gabe knows he can take the powers if it goes too far and that he can talk to his victim and use a brain zap connection check them if they get too out of hand..so while Gabe is still horrible for taking advantage of a (usually a teens) negative emotions to try to steal the miraculous after making a scene and alarming the city of Paris...he arguable has a plan that minimizes the risk and damage where he has to get consent from his victim(they have to agree to the powers and that he persuaded them). and the plan is to heal his wife who can walk back into her life using the 'missing' cover...probably something like her going away for a secret treatment she didn't know would work ect. and Gabe knows i he wins that he just wants to save a loved one(doesn't erase the fear since people don't know what he wants and just because he has the illusion of control it doesn't change people were in real danger.
Its just....Yes he's horrible but he also knows any damage he makes will be reversed and he had no contact with the guardians so it would have been pretty understandably if he didn't really understand how the wish works since the 'Detroy and rewrite the world' sounds like bullshit and a price to heal someone from something the miraculous caused would be hard to fathom or easy to brush aside at first. We've seen Mari justify risky moves because she knows Damage will get reversed at times...and unlike a lot of villains at least Gabe had a failsafe with the Ladybug miraculous and how he hadn't planned to torment Paris and just wanted a quick in and out wish.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Its just weird the show acts like the BEST course of action is just to completely accept Emelie's death....like this isn't natural sickness...this is a miraculous caused one so I wouldn't just accept it easier...even more she isn't dead yet...if she was dead and buried I'd understand the point of him having to accept and move on...but contrary to how its coffin shaped...it's not actually a coffin...it's a healing coma stasis pod.
I mean sure we could argue that if the wish destroys the world that its bad completely even if everything is rewritten (side eyeing the time travel episodes a bit but eh)....but considering how strongly he tries to convince Adrien about his mom being 'missing' and his desperation when the power almost went out due to the power surge during the guys' party....Gabe at least through most of the seasons didn't seem to be banking on the 'remake everything' part and was aiming for the healing her/waking her up part...like was it that someone else would have to go into a coma which would be better than death at least?
it's just I understand that a message can be accepting to let people go when there are no other options but the whole point of science and doctors is to have a fighting chance...and it feels weird to be told to give up is the right thing to do when she isn't dead, and a common 'miracle' is someone being healed.
Like...why is the show trying to get me to ship Gabe and Nathalie at times when Gabe's ONE redeeming feature is that he loves his wife and wants to save her...I mean i like the drama by why act like its some fix? that if Gabe has a replacement, he should stop trying to save her? Even more its not like Gabe is the only one who wants her back...Nathalie clearly thought she was worth it enough to side with this crazy plan, and wanting to bring back the emotionally competent parents' kind of makes sense for Gabe since he clearly didn't prepare to be a single parent.
And like....I'm gonna be honest the thing that bothers me the most if her having videos saying she wants Gabe to give up....like I get...a just in case video...but would it be wrong if the mom WANTED to be saved? Would Emelie wanting to live be selfish?
Also she tends to be treated like a saint character...perfect sweet person dead mom architype. We are all familiar....
But it feels odd people don't address the aspects of her character we DO know. We know Gabe compared Chat noir to Adrien's mom Favorably when Chat ripped him to shreds so to speak in Simon Says when Gabe was being too lighthearted about the danger Gabe was personally in. implying, she often roasted Gabe in a similar way...and considering Gabe as strong parallels personality wise to Marinette...it strengthens the hint that Emelie is also closure to Adrien in their dynamic.
Like....What if the issue is that Emelie was the one super excited about miraculous and using them and didn't check it was safe to use the peacock. Where she overlooked the side affects and kept using it anyway until it was too late? Something that could parallel how Adrien when he first got Plagg got so excited he accept the powers without finding out the details as well as Adrien being a bit reckless when it comes to his OWN well-being in his confidence. Like...she wanted a baby, but she couldn't have one naturally so wanted to use the peacock instead of invitro or adoption and she was stubborn about it. Ignoring Gabe who would be more cautious about its view (similar to how Marinette is more cautious and collects info and makes plans to contrast Adrien who jumps right in first). Her kindness in making a baby for others like Kagami for Kagami's mom and Felix for her sister. Maybe Emilie tried doing good with the peacock or heck even the butterfly before...but Emilie being reckless led to her not realizing the affect it would have on her family if something happened to her. Emilie was also really talented in her own right both as a model and an actress(even if she only acted a little in that one movie)...but if she's similar to Adrien in how he tends to be naturally supportive and empathetic....what if she was a great source of help for Gabe who struggled a bit with that...especially with him trying to impress her old money family with his new money riches....
like it would make Sense of Gabe wants to help her /save her or might blame himself for not stopping her...even more if she believes in him like how chat believes in LB/Mari.
It just feels unfair that the show seems to act like it's just the only option that Adrien's mom would be understanding about them letting her die/go instead of trying to save her when most of them would have no reason to understand or believe the weight of the wish would be THAT bad.
and if Gabe's plan was always to switch with the mom (similar to how Nathalie was healed but he was gone) ...would the mom know and be worried because she wanted Gabe to be, okay?
Like I wish there was a bit more nuance we were shown...like was she reckless in using it...whether through genuine good or selfish intentions but not bad? what about how she was also super protective of Adrien...like its not just Gabe who made Adrien homeschool...it was the mom...and Adrien was more or less fine with it still his mom disappeared and he was struck with his grieving dad who was NOT taking it well and who (WE know) was probably trying to find way to fix the mom and putting Adrien second to try to fix her faster for Adrien's sake...forgetting Adrien couldn't be that understanding since to Adrien his mom disappeared while Gabe at least knew she was alive and Adrien didn't know his dad was taking care of his mom.
Was she a little vain or shallow? at all dramatic like Adrien? would she sneak out at times? Was the mom at all paranoid or overprotective about Adrien? Was she overly affectionate hence why Adrien might struggle with certain personal space issues at times?
Its just..Gabe has the energy of someone who kind of had to pick up being hawkmoth out of necessity like Mari did to help save Paris(or alya Infront of her)...only for him his Paris was Emelie...also according to how Gabe responded to Chat in Simon says...did she put Gabe in his place? get annoyed at him or think that Gabe was too reckless with himself like how Mari at times can be confident and not realize the danger she puts herself in?
We know the mom was adventurous and directly was part of that expedition to find the miraculous with Gabe and Nathalie and that they liked to travel often. We also know as much as Gabe loves his wife....he isn't a big fan of her sister even if Adrien and Felix would hang out more often before.
I mean...Emelie doesn't have to be evil or anything, but I would like a bit more nuance to her...
Honestly, I half wonder if Emelie had actually made a wish before and that's why she wants Gabe to give up.
What if Gabe had actually been the one to suffer the consequences of the peacock before and Emelie had been the Hawkmoth...only to succeed and change things so SHE used it instead so Gabe would live in her place...trying to stop him from burning himself out with those videos.
Also...people give Gabe flack for not going back in time to stop Emilie from using the peacock...but if she did that...wouldn't that have stopped Felix, Kagami and especially Adrien his own son from existing?
Like its the easiest route to fix Emilie but it could risk the existence of their kid so is it really the most obvious choice that Gabe failing to see means he's just too far gone that the show is trying to pretend it was?
Also has anyone heard the Theory that Emilie and Amelie were also sentibeings as well?
or that Adrien is based on them losing a kid together? or him being half a sentibeing?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Also....if they were going to save Nathalie with Gabe dying....Why not just have Gabe trade himself for his wife anyway? why can't both Nathalie and Emelie be saved?
like morally I think Gabe thinking it would be better if Adrien had emelie instead of Gabe could be interesting since she seems better at emotions and was the more emotion focused parent...but that could also show the flaw of when you focus on your 'role' of what your good at and forget to practice the other aspects of parenting...relying on the other person for the other aspects instead of you both equalizing it out? would Adrien agree? or be devastated his dad felt it would have been preferable if Gabe died instead of Emilie?
also...why not just have them offer the guardians to help save Emelie? show that the wish isn't necessary and get experts in who can help combined with science since she technically isn't dead?
also... what if that's a decoy and the real Emelie is somewhere else?
I'm just saying them finding those videos all the way in season 5 after THIS long just saying Gabe should let Emilie go feels pretty convenient.
Also...what happens if Adrien finds out the truth and uses a wish to bring both of his parents back but at the cost of himself?
Would potentially Amelie pretend to be Emilie and make the videos? similar to felix?
Or get desperate to save her sister now that she knows she was in trouble/in a coma?
Also...I get Adrien tends to be the 'move forward type when you can't change anything' and he was probably just trying to be calmer and accept things to contrast how his dad was stuck and how Adrien pieced together his mom was sick and her 'disappearing' was probably his mom running away to die where her family couldn't see her since they had tried to keep it from Adrien...and that his dad was in denial about it and Adrien came to terms by himself.
but it feels odd they have Adrien be so accepting I guess? like if he was more in denial how would that have affected marinette on the subject? though I get his dad not giving up easily when emilie isn't dead and he has seen her in the pod.
Though imagine if the mom DID come back a the end with the 'missing' excuse as a cover still.
Also... Nathalie basically enabled Gabriel into his death...i wonder how Nathalie would feel about that now or about Emelie after the taps...like I haven't forgotten the guy almost gave up being hawkmoth but Nathalie encouraged him to continue!

Can you recommend some Stories featuring memory loss (not related to Oblivio)?
Absolutely! I have an Oblivio rec list here anyway 😊
For the Last Time by @thelibraryloser
No matter how you meet him, you will love him. You will fall for every version of him, in every world, in every timeline. I need you to know that.
One-shot. This fic is not nearly popular enough for how AMAZING it is!! After losing her memory, Marinette reads her pre-memory loss letter to herself. This is such a beautiful and hopeful take on the memory loss trope with gorgeous prose and such a loving look at the love square relationship. HIGHLY recommend!
you don't even know me at all (but i was made for loving you) by @ladyofthenoodle
One-shot. Years later, after Adrien and Marinette are MARRIED, they give up their memories and forget each other. And then there's the painful journey back to loving one another. This one hurtsssss, but it's so good, and the end is amazing!! I don't want to spoil it but the echoes of how they fell for each other the first time are just ahhhhhh!!! READ THIS!
Make This Go On Forever by @coffeebanana
A Finding Nemo Akuma shouldn't be that hard to deal with, right? Clownfish and blue tangs, but nothing life-changing? Adrien didn't expect the accompanying sentimonster to bring to life one of his worst fears: what would happen if Marinette lost her memory. Maybe it's temporary, but it feels very real. And suddenly the things he's been trying to keep hidden from her refuse to stay inside. Or: Angsty emotional hurt/comfort for day 10 of Kiss Prompt November (minnow).
One-shot. This is gorgeous. I love the way the details of what's happened over the past few years are woven into the narrative, and Adrien's breakdown, even after everything, is so sad and fitting. Adrien is terrified of Marinette losing her memory (just like me) and this is done so well.
when push comes to shove by @passionfruitmacarons
Marinette is confused, Adrien is stressed, and Ladybug is nowhere to be found. Or: Ladybug gives up guardianship, and Chat Noir has to suffer the consequences.
One-shot. As usual with this trope, there's some definite angst involved, but I found the ending more than hopeful! It's so sweet, and I really loved the role reversal with Chat being on the other side of an act of self sacrifice.
Your touch is etched into my mind by plikki
She wakes up in a strange room without memories but somehow she knows him.
One-shot. This one is definitely sad and it really hurts, but there's also a sweetness to it that I loved!
new marinette by @rosekasa
marinette may not remember their first kiss anymore, but she has no doubts that adrien is the man she will spend her life with. amnesia has nothing on her love.
Multi-chapter. This is soft and sweet, despite the premise. I love being in Marinette's head as she tries to figure out what she's missing, which of course we already know. And then watching more of the picture come together...it's really well done, and the ending makes up for the angst, though honestly there's not a lot of it!
I Shall Never Know That Second Death by @into-september
Paris has been haunted by a butterfly supervillain and saved by a ladybug superhero, and Marinette has forgotten the last year of her life.
Two-shot. Read this if you want to suffer. Seriously, it's so good, but there is only pain for you here. It's so sad and bittersweet and I legit cried after I finished.
Echoes of You by @kittinoir
In the day time, she's Marinette - a normal girl, with a normal life. A normal girl, with a normal life. A normal girl, with...
Multi-chapter. Marinette’s got giant gaps in her memory she’s struggling to understand while Adrien is desperately trying to figure out just what the hell happened to his Lady. Lots of angst and a mystery and this fic is one hell of a ride from start to finish!
in case you don't know me tomorrow by @thelibraryloser
“We live in a crazy world where pieces of our lives can be erased like they never even happened. I just wanted to memorize this moment so… so I could keep it, if that makes sense.” Adrien's heart gave a little flutter. She wanted to keep this moment, meeting him. She wanted to keep… him. “I understand exactly what you mean." In a world that has created a way to selectively delete memories, no moment is truly safe. So how do you hold on to something when the memory of it is gone? And how do you keep fighting for someone when you're the only one who remembers?
Multi-chapter. AU. I normally avoid AUs, but I'm so glad I read this one! I'm not going to lie--this one hurts and I was terrified to read it. But! It's so well done and we get a happy ending that makes it all worth it!!
Just Give Me A Reason by @coffeebanana
Adrien stopped short when he turned the corner, his breath catching in his throat. Gentle thunder crackled overhead, and the sky split in two just as Adrien’s heart had months before. The clouds cried the gentle tears Adrien tried to fight back, because he knew if he started crying, he wouldn’t stop. He tried to move. Tried to force his limbs to flee. But suddenly, it was him who’d forgotten how to function. He hadn’t expected to see her. Not here, right around the corner from his usual grocery store. Not today, on the anniversary of their first kiss.
One-shot. I'm not going to lie, this one hurts. The ending can be classified as hopeful, but there's a lot of hurting...but it's so well done!

Day 28 - Ruined Orgasm
“Look at that pretty cat in the mirror,” Luka mumbles into his ear, as Adrien squirms. “Isn’t he handsome?”
“Luka,” he whines.
“Look, look,” his boyfriend murmurs. A breathy laugh and a nip of giant teeth against the shell of Adrien’s ear has him turning into liquid, whimpering, begging for adequate release. “Just take a look at the little prince, wanting to say hi to you.”
Eyesight is a little hard right now, but Adrien sure gives it a try. There they are, right in the full-length mirror, with his spunk and semen dripping off the surface, obscuring his view of anything below his diaphragm; another snap of Luka’s hips against his ass has him yelping, being pushed forward on the rug and struggling to stay upright.
He’s scrambling.
Luka doesn’t make it easy, large fingers pressing into the place where his wings slide right out, all in an attempt to choke him out.
“I’m sensitive,” Adrien argues. “L-Luka, please— I— I can’t—”
“Just how I like you.”
Being fucked on the couch is one thing, even on the bed, but the floor? The floor? Luka’s managed to wrestle him all the way down, where drapes of red silk and priceless white-fur rugs cover the wooden floorboards. Clothes have been shed— ripped off of Adrien’s skin, with buttons everywhere cascading like glass. At least his pants survived, though not without serious damage.
Another cursory glance to the mirror tells him all: hair in disarray, mouth smeared red, with love bites— tears into his skin— have made blood drip down to his collarbone and chest. His nipple has a serious bruise from Luka’s teeth. Adrien’s fucked. Luka’s not taking it easy in any sort of the word, taking everything he wants.
More.
More.
All-consuming, Akuma-heat, like he’s infected with a disease.
It’s so good that it’s disgusting.
Adrien’s blood stings with fever, like Luka’s injected heat into his veins with one bite alone. When his boyfriend touches his torso with his fingers, Adrien’s head lulls back, paying attention to the heat and zinging arousal that follows, pooling to his stomach. A fist, tight, right around the base of his cock strips him for more and wrings him dry, like Adrien hasn’t just had one of the worst orgasms in existence.
This fucker. Right as Adrien was enjoying the searing handjob, enjoying it so much that he was coming, Luka had pulled away and laughed and laughed and laughed, leaving him to miserably string come all over the mirror, crying that Luka is being so mean.
He feels broken. Torn apart by teeth alone. Torn to shreds by those molten-golden eyes. Isn’t it nice to not have to worry being put back together, anyway?
“I’m looking,” Adrien pants, curling his back the way that Luka likes, just to keep him from nipping his shoulder for the disobedience. “I’m… I’m looking.”
“You should give him a kiss,” Luka laughs.
Give— give who a kiss? Give the mirror a kiss?
“Wh—” he’s not given a choice. Another snap of his hips sends Adrien forward, wincing at the angle that Luka’s cock presses inside of him. A brutal pace against his prostrate makes him dizzy; disoriented like a neuron’s misfired, Adrien misses the fact that his face is right on the mirror where he’s come himself stupid. The wall hums at the impact, and Adrien’s certain— even with a dizzy, offline brain— that had he been human, he’d broken his nose from how hard he’s hit it. Or the mirror. Or both. “Oh,” Adrien groans, sinuses singing in pain. “Oh, fuck.”
“Don’t be shy. Give him a kiss hello. He’s such a nice little kitten.”Adrien slips a bit, causing his lips to make contact with his own semen, and before he knows it, he’s drooling right over it, lapping it up without any orders at all. It’s salty. Lord, it’s disgusting, but Luka— Luka holds his face there by the neck, a vice grip just below the ears, still fucking him senseless until Adrien can barely whine. He licks until the mirror is clean, embarrassment burning traces into his skin and bones… until he comes again, tears dotting along his waterline.

Universe 180330: Android
Summary: Gabriel decides to tell Adrien the truth about Hawkmoth while Adrien stumbles onto a truth of his own.
---------------------
There was no blood.
Skin, or what should have been skin, peeled back to reveal metal bones and veins of wire.
"Kid..."
Adrien pulled on the fake tissue. Watching as the biomimicry of his internal structure flexed in response to the pain that didn't come.
"Kid!"
He remembered his fifth birthday. Standing on the chair to blow out his candles because his body was too small. Remembered when he peeled off the tux that was squeezing him because he'd grown too big for it. Adrien remembered his childhood...
Didn't he?
"Adrien!"
His eyes snapped into focus. Plagg trying to pry his fingers away from the flap of fake skin that Adrien was pulling, pulling, pull-
Adrien let go and collapsed to his knees. Whatever technology he was made out of already working to repair him. The numbness fading and a burning itch taking it's place.
Fake pain. To prevent... damage.
A paw was placed on his cheek. Big green eyes gazing into his. Moisture congealed on the surface of his optical receptors. Simulating tears.
"P-Plagg?" His voice broke. "D-does this mean I c-can't be Chat Noir anymore?"
Plagg's tail stilled. "... You're not getting rid of me that easily," he promised.
Adrien nodded as his artificial heart slowed. The servos in his legs taking a long time to reboot.
---------------------
Gabriel stared at images of the silver ring on his son's finger.
The shape was uncanny.
The people in charge of Adrien's photoshoots reported that he often disappeared when there was an akuma... Not that that said much, considering.
But there was also the Simon Says incident. One of his many blunders.
Chat Noir's temper reminded him so vividly of Emilie.
Gabriel straightened his back. No use wondering. He made his way quickly to Adrien's room and threw open the door without knocking.
"Adrien, I have something important to-"
His son's room was empty.
"What!? Nathalie!"
Nathalie and the bodyguard Gabriel was starting to think was slightly overrated rushed to him at his yell.
"Where is my son!? Find him!" Gabriel snapped.
----------------------
Adrien didn't remember when Solitude first came out.
Understandable. He wasn't "born" yet. But that did mean that this film was the only recording of his mother that wasn't carefully curated for his consumption.
He wasn't sure what he was hoping to glean from it but... "Having a mechanical brain that records everything has to be good for something," he thought aloud.
"Like sniffing out that one bit of cheese that's gotten too rotten?" Plagg asked.
Translation: finding a clue about how much of his "life" actually happened.
"Is there such a thing as too rotten with you?" Adrien deflected with a smile instead.
"You'd be surprised." Plagg hid as they came into view of the movie theater.
--------------------
Gabriel suddenly remembered that Adrien had come into his office earlier that day to ask for something... But Gabriel was too engrossed in the question of Chat Noir to pay attention to him.
What ... What was Adrien feeling when he came in?
He should know. The Butterfly made him know. Always. He couldn't turn it off.
But he could shut it out...
Suddenly the idea of akumatizing his son's bodyguard no longer felt like the smart move.
Gabriel ignored Nooroo's questioning look as he stopped fidgeting with the Butterfly brooch and reattached his tie. Activating the hidden elevator to decend from his lair.
He dialed the bodyguard and waited for the answering click. "I know where he is. Let him finish watching the film then escort him back once it ends."
Hanging up, Gabriel gazed up at the portrait of his comatose wife.
---------------------
Adrien wiped at his photo receptors as the credits rolled.
The film was a passion project between friends with too much money. Which showed in clunky dialogue and weird scene transitions. And yet... Maman was an amazing actress. Embodying the isolation someone could feel even while surrounded by people.
The servos in his fingers whirled as his digits approximated a fist. It wasn't fair. Adrien didn't even have a heart just simulated responses.
It shouldn't hurt this much to see himself reflected in his mother's character.
His facial recognition detected the Gorilla a few rows behind him as Adrien stood. Here to guard Father's favorite toy.
Adrien barely acknowledged him as he walked back to the vehicle. Logic algorithms malfunctioning as he was temporarily overcome with the desire to have been born a car.
--------------------
Gabriel stared at the expressionless mask of his son's face. Adrien had his mother's eyes. Gabriel had insisted on getting the color just right.
"Adrien-" Gabriel cleared his throat. "There is something I have to tell you."
"I'm not real."
"...What?"
Adrien's optical receptors simulated the reddening response as internal moisturizer was released. He walked up to one of the statues in his maker's office and punched the stone as hard as he could. Cracks spiderwebbing from the impact.
"Adrien!"
Pulling back his fist Adrien's optical receptors focused on the joints of his digits. "I'm not real."
"No!" Gabriel grabbed his son's hand. Fingers ghosting over his knuckles where synthetic flesh revealed metal bones. Hands freezing as realization hit him like a meteorite. "...How long?"
"Long enough." Adrien snatched his hand out of Gabriel's grasp as he stepped back.
"Adrien... son-"
"Don't." The tears in his eyes started to spill over. "Don't call me that. I'm not your son. You don't see me as a son. I'm just your fancy doll-"
"That's not true!" Gabriel insisted. "You mean everything to me!"
"Oh, yeah?" Adrien scowled. "Then how come you're never around!? How come I need an appointment just to ask if I can see Maman's movie!? How come I can't call you dad!?" Adrien's words echoed in the high walls of the mansion as his voice rose.
"... Nooroo, transforme-moi."
Adrien scrambled back. "No. No!"
"You are so much like your mother," Hawkmoth said, eyes gentle. "She wanted a son so badly before the end. So I moved heaven and earth to build her one. When we made you I wanted you to be just like her." His transformation fell as he reached out a hand to caress Adrien's cheek.
His son flinched from his touch.
... Gabriel let his hand fall. "You gave her such life Adrien. You gave her years the doctors said she didn't have because she wanted to spend more time with you."
For over a decade she clung to life for you. Developing plans and perfecting your future bodies so it would be like you were growing up like any other child."
"Astro Boy... She called me Astro Boy."
"Yes," Gabriel laughed. "She said it was my fault. For infecting her with my sense of humor."
"... Why?" Adrien asked, a thousand questions in a single word.
"I... I had to get her back. It wasn't fair! To take her from us when we had so much left to do! I... See her in you. Some days so strongly it hurts and I couldn't-" Gabriel took a shakey breath. "I couldn't bring myself to tell you. Any of it."
Adrien wiped at the tears in his eyes. Heart drumming in his chest. "So... I'm just a pet robot that looks too much like your wife."
"No! Adrien, no! I-"
"I'll be in my room." Adrien ran out of his father's office.
Leaving Gabriel alone. Like he had done so many times before.
-----------------------
Things were... Awkward after that.
Not least because Gabriel actually showed up for meals and attempted to engage with Adrien's questions about his own nature.
"How come I get hungry?"
"Some of your synthetic components require organic fuel."
"Is that why you control my diet so much."
"Well, yes."
"I want to know what I shouldn't be eating. And why. It's my body. I should be the one to decide what goes in it."
"Nathalie will give you a list."
"... Does she know?"
"...Yes."
Adrien stood abruptly, breakfast half eaten. "Excuse me, Father. I'm late for school."
Gabriel did not point out that he was in fact an hour early.
---------------------
"How old was my first body."
"About three years. That is also the amount of time you spent in it before we transferred your consciousness to your five year old form."
"...How does it work?"
Gabriel shifted awkwardly. "Your old body is connected to your new one and-"
Adrien shook his head. "No, I mean, how am I built?"
In retrospect Adrien should've known seeing his past selves was going to be super creepy.
Even creepier than seeing his future body suspended in a fluid solution. His synthetic skin only grown down to the first abdomen. Leaving his gut and legs' inner workings exposed. The metal-synth musculature was a lot more anatomical than Adrien thought it would be.
It was a strangely comforting thought. That his future body would be even more human than his current one. Almost enough to offset the odd feeling of watching yourself sleep.
Gabriel cleared his throat. "Every iteration is more advanced than the last. We may even be able to eliminate the filter problem with feathers in your adult self."
"I was wondering about that." Actually, Adrien was wondering if he could get abs in his next body but was too self conscious to ask.
--------------------
Learning about himself was so distracting that it took Adrien a while to notice that Hawkmoth hadn't sent out an akuma since Gabriel revealed himself.
Or maybe he was simply avoiding having to deal with it. Adrien thought as he walked to his father's office. It was past the time Gabriel was usually busy with work but...
"Adrien. It's late. Isn't it a school night?"
"It's not that late," Adrien muttered, ignoring the silly warm feeling in his chest. "Father... You haven't akumatized anyone in a while."
Gabriel paused. His fingers saved his work and exited out of the program before giving his son his full attention. "I... Realized that I could only keep going as Hawkmoth... if I ignored your pain."
"... Oh."
Gabriel removed his tie and stared at the broach.
Nooroo floated out of his hiding place. "Master?"
"Hello," Adrien stepped closer as he held out his pinky finger for the kwami to shake. "What's your name?"
"I am Nooroo. Pleasure to meet you properly, Adrien." Nooroo shook Adrien's offered pinky with his own appendage.
"Is he what empowers the Miraculous?" Adrien asked, hand gliding over Plagg's hiding place.
"... What do you really want to ask me, Adrien?"
Adrien took a deep breath. "Don't you think it's time Nooroo went back to his own family?"
Gabriel stilled. "You... Want me to give them my Miraculous?"
"Please, dad!" Adrien walked up to his maker and held his hand in both of his.
He looked down at his son's pleading eyes. He could see it. Eventually, the temptation would be too great. The pain of this moment would fade among the sea of his grief and he would fall back into old habits.
And his son would suffer again.
Gabriel let go of the Butterfly and let it fall into Adrien's hands. "O-okay," he breathed. "Okay."
Relief bloomed on Adrien's face as he wrapped his arms around his dad. Gabriel returning the embrace.
--------------------
"Dude, I can't believe you're a robot!"
Adrien's face fell.
"That's so cool!"
His head snapped up to find Nino's eyes sparkling in awe.
"Y-you don't think it's weird?"
"Eh," Nino wrapped an arm around Adrien's shoulders. "Normal's overrated."
Adrien smiled shyly. "Sorry I didn't tell you sooner."
"Hey," Nino moved so his hands were on Adrien's shoulders and he was looking his best friend straight in the eye. "I get it. I still haven't come out to my parents even though I know they'll be chill about me being bi. You've got nothing to be sorry about my dude. I'm- I'm glad you told me.
Adrien wiped the blurryness out of his eyes. "Y-yeah."
Nino grinned "Now, c'mon bro! What kinda superpowers you got?"
"Well..." Adrien eyed the desk Nino had snuck into the boiler room. Carefully grabbing the edges to distribute it's weight more evenly. Lifting with his legs Adrien held the thing over his head.
Nino's eyes tried to pop out of his head. "Oh that is sick bro!"
Adrien set down the desk and rubbed the back of his neck. Smiling at Nino's reaction.
They fist bumped as the bell rang. Hurrying to class. Adrien felt so much lighter. He might not have revealed himself as Chat Noir but this... This was good.
He'd talk to Markov later. See if his... Compatriot? Could shed some light on being a robot. Who knows? Adrien grinned. He might even pick up a new trick or two.

Ladynoir July 2023 Day 24: Out of Time
Read all the entries on AO3
--
One moment Ladybug was standing in front of the Eiffel Tower, challenging an akuma, and then it felt like she blinked and was suddenly miles away.
“Catch the akuma!” someone shrieked behind her. “Hurry, Ladybug! We’re almost out of time! The akuma is getting away! Hurry!”
Ladybug startled. Her brain felt like mush, and her body felt slow to react, but she still managed to swing her yoyo up and around to capture the akuma that was trying to fly away. Still confused, she purified the akuma and then called for a Lucky Charm so that she could cast her miraculous cure. The magical flood of red ladybugs made her feel slightly less dazed, but not by much.
“Finally, it’s over!”
Ladybug turned around only to see that Chat Noir, Queen Bee, Rena Rouge, and Carapace were standing right behind her. She blinked at them in puzzled silence, still struggling to understand what was happening.
The last thing she remembered was fighting with Chat.
She hadn’t called upon Rena Rouge or Carapace. She definitely hadn’t gone to Queen Bee. So how they were all here now? What was going on?
“Ladybug, are you okay?” Chat surged forward to grip her upper arms, shaking her lightly in his panic. His eyes scanned her body, looking for any damage. It was a good thing that he couldn’t see just how scrambled her brain was right then, or he might have really panicked.
“I’m – I’m fine. Whoa, Chat, I’m fine.” Ladybug brought her hands up to cover his. “What happened?”
“What’s the last thing you remember?” he asked, searching her eyes intently.
“Um… we were fighting the akuma by the tower…” Ladybug looked around. “Then we were here.”
Chat sighed and nodded, like he’d expected that. “You fell under the influence of the akuma,” he told her, and Ladybug’s eyes widened with horror.
“What – how?” she exclaimed. That had never happened before. It had happened to Chat, sure. But never to her. She was surprised by how upset the thought made her feel. It felt like she had failed somehow.
“You looked away and it hit you when your back was turned,” Chat said. “I had to go for help.”
He’d gone to Master Fu, Ladybug realized, her eyes wandering back to Queen Bee, Rena Rouge, and Carapace. At least that explained Queen Bee’s presence. They – well, Ladybug had decided that Queen Bee was never going to get her miraculous back. But she was the only person whose identity Chat knew, which meant that she was the only person he could go to.
So how had Rena Rouge and Carapace gotten here?
Ladybug didn’t even know what to say to all this, so she didn’t say anything.
Chat turned to the other three. “Everyone, take your miraculouses home with you for now,” he requested wearily. “Ladybug or I will come by later to pick them up.”
Rena Rouge looked like she wanted to argue this, or maybe just asked some questions, but Carapace dragged her away. Queen Bee left too, and rather quickly at that, probably afraid that Chat might change his mind and take her miraculous back then and there.
Once they were gone, Chat turned back to Ladybug. His expression was strangely serious.
“I needed more help than just Queen Bee,” he said. “So I decided to go to some of my friends. But strangely, my friend Marinette wasn’t around… she’d run out suddenly, her maman said…”
Ladybug swallowed.
“And then when I sought out my other friends, Alya and Nino, thinking that the might be able to help too… Imagine my shock when the two of them were familiar with the miraculous I was bringing to them. And then I realized I’d inadvertently found Rena Rouge and Carapace without even trying.” His eyes bored into her.
“Chat,” she whispered.
“Tell me the truth… Marinette.”

Rules: post the first lines of your last 10 fics posted to ao3. if you have less than 10 fics posted, post the first lines of all your fics.
thanks for the tag @heartfulselkie!!! this will be fun to look through
Adrien has been struggling to make sense of Marinette all day. - wax lips to wax lips
Adrien Agreste was sitting alone in the cafeteria. - oh, look now, there you go with hope again
Chat Noir’s heart pounded in his chest as he leapt across rooftops towards the akuma battle, frenetic drumming in time with the voice in his head chanting: late, late, you’re late, you’re late, you’re late… - (that kiss of mine is) a carved notice of destiny
They didn’t remember each other. The hospital told them there’d been an accident—brain damage—but Alya had told them the truth, later. Who’d they’d been to each other. What they’d given up, and why. - you don't even know me at all (but i was made for loving you)
Of all the ways for the rift between Ladybug and Chat Noir to be healed, Alya never expected it to be via Ladybug revealing her massively debilitating crush on Adrien Agreste. And yet, that’s exactly what happened. - team is a four letter word
Adrien forcibly stilled his arms against the table as the lawyer spoke. Though he’d been Chat Noir for years, he’d never felt more like a cat than right now. He wanted to crawl under the table and curl into a ball. He wanted to pull his knees up to his chest and bawl. He wanted to run into the corner and hiss at anyone who followed. - gave my blood sweat and tears for this
“So I might have, um, gotten myself into a bit of a pickle,” Marinette admitted, a bit sheepish. - lead me up the staircase
She shouldn’t go back. - how fair you were in summertime
“Good morning, Marinette!” - pretty lady, look at how he's smiling
“Did we not make it?” - saddle up

Best Lovesquare-centric Fics And Series That Completed In 2023
So the majority of fics I read include the Lovesquare in some capacity, but I figured people might appreciate a list of great fics that really center around them, particularly romantically.
As with the other lists like this, these fics all come from my previous reclists for ML fics I really liked that finished during 2023. So if you like these, you might want to look through the collection I set up for all these fics.
---
home is where the fight is by @rosie-b
Nadja Chamack’s voice greeted Adrien as he sat up straight, wiping his clammy hands on his pants and ignoring the black kwami floating by his shoulder. “—shocked to see our heroine fall in battle today, taking a direct hit from the akuma just as she detransformed. Parisians are torn between blaming Hawk Moth and Cat Walker for their roles in this tragedy, which ultimately revealed the civilian identity of Ladybug, Marinette Dupain-Cheng.” Adrien turned off the TV and lowered his head as his vision blurred. Written for Ladrien June Day 7: Injured
I adore this fic! Which shouldn’t be a a surprise, it’s no secret that I love Sentiadrien Enemies AU. Adrien’s so worried about Marinette getting hurt, and wishes that he could help keep her safer, could tell her what’s really going on or get rid of the ring or something, but he can’t. Still, he IS able to find clever ways around some of his father’s more problematic orders. Loopholes for the win!
---
Patrolling with a friend for Christmas by @seasofsilver
Adrien just wanted to gift his Lady some time off and hang out more with Marinette during the festive season - it didn’t exactly go to plan, but somehow ended up… better?
This was adorable! Chat Noir tries to give Ladybug a break by recruiting Multimouse to replace her on patrols for a bit, and Ladybug returns the favor by recruiting Aspik to replace Chat. Yep, it’s Snekmouse!
---
Under the Umbrella by @fruitdragon1a
Almost everyone has a soulmate. What are Adrien and Marinette supposed to do when they meet theirs? ML Secret Santa gift for Mei! Merry Christmas! Thank you to Now Loading and Rewan Demontay for beta reading this fic!
So this is a version of soulmarks I haven’t seen before. Around age six, soulmates get a soulmark that shows what their soulmate is thinking when they first meet them. Though I guess it doesn’t register while transformed, since it only counts for this one when Adrien and Marinette meet as civilians, and not when they first meet as superheroes.
---
you don’t even know me at all (but I was made for loving you) by @ladyofthenoodle
And in the apartment they share, there’s only one bed.
---
Until I Found You by @linnieluna
That is… until he is transported into the future. More specifically, to his friend Marinette’s wedding.
When he says the only person he’ll invite as his plus one to an event is Ladybug, Marinette takes her chance to romance him for the night. AU. (a fanboy and fangirl start to date.)
This is just a fun Ladrien story. Ladybug is happy to oblige in Adrien’s fantasies, and no one else believes that he’s actually dating Ladybug.
---
Miracoffee by @pauliestorylover
---
For the Sake of a Ring by @rosie-b
An akuma that transfers people’s consciousnesses into other universes hits Ladybug, sending her into a world where everything is the same… but instead of earrings, she’s wearing a ring on one hand! She’s only just arrived in this universe, but already Plagg seems to have gone missing. It’s up to Marinette to figure out what happened before she’s sent back home!
---
A Friendship Not Abandoned (Just Delayed) by @nomolosk
Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste first met as tiny little kids, but then Adrien had to move away. When they finally meet again, will they even remember each other, much less become friends again?
Poor Adrien keeps on saying or doing just the wrong thing to give Marinette the impression that he’s a bully like Chloe when he’s not, and he keeps desperately trying to fix it. So a bit of an enemies au in that way, since Marinette doesn’t like him much. He does gradually manage to convince her that he’s a good person though.
---
The Mer-Human Race by @rosie-b
Bringing her hand closer to his lips, Adrien tried to plant a kiss on it, but Marinette pulled away before his lips could touch her. “Save it for your girlfriend,” she said teasingly. “Or do you still not have one yet?” Adrien smirked and crossed his arms.
Alya, Nino, and Adrien are naturally very encouraging towards Marinette, and luckily for her, a nice merman going by the name of Chat Noir shows up and challenges her to a race…
Yeah you can see where this is going XD. It’s fun, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
---
A Mousey guest by charliepoet13
Adrien Agreste has finally managed to break away from his father and make his way out into the world. One faithful night, after settling down in his new home, he spots a strange guest.
Adrien X Multimouse fic here! So this is inspired by the Borrowers, with little people the size of mice living amongst ordinary-sized humans, and Marinette got a little careless here XD. But soon finds that Adrien’s friendly and not a threat. It’s adorable and reminds me of the The Littles book series that I read when I was a kid!
---
Caught In A Multimouse Trap by @a-flaming-idiot
Adrien was having a rather slow morning. That was until he discovered a tiny superhero trapped in his home and decides to be a bit of a hero even out of his suit.
This was adorable! Adrien does his best to care for the little miniature superhero caught in a mousetrap, bandaging her up as best as he can (thankfully only her tail got caught so it’s more of a phantom pain than an actual injury) and just… it’s really cute.
---
do you think I have forgotten about you? by @roseinaugust
Based on the song ‘About You’ by The 1975. Memory Loss. Told in alternating time lines, one leading up to and one dealing with the aftermath of Marinette relinquishing the Miracle Box and the guardianship. Marinette struggles with her life after losing her memory, though there is a persistent voice that calls to her that always seems just out of reach in her memory.
Beautiful memory loss fic here, with seeing Ladybug’s and Chat Noir’s relationship before she gave up the Miracle box, juxtaposed with the present day, when Adrien is only a stranger to her. I could really feel how Marinette was struggling with navigating these new circumstances, with her friends seeming to expect her to remember, to be who she was to them, to Adrien especially, before, and her just… not knowing whether she can do that. It’s got a happy ending though, for those who are concerned about that.
---
How Marinette Learned to Stop Worrying And Love The Ball by @rosie-b
Hidden from the crowds thronging around the busy fairy portal in Paris’s town square, a fae gate sits at the edge of the forest, locked, rusty, and full of ancient magic. Marinette thinks that this abandoned gate must not work anymore… but one day, a fairy disguised as a black cat steps through it.
Ah, Fantasy Soulmate AUs, my beloved XD. This ain’t the only one of this fic type I’m gonna be recommending. This is just a cute fluff fic without much strife. I love Marinette and Chat Noir being able to be childhood friends via his visits, even if he has to pretend to be her cat whenever he comes over, and I ESPECIALLY adore Alya being his chaperone and quickly becoming friends with Marinette in her own right. It ain’t a complicated plot, but it is a nice and warm fic.
---
Stay Weird, Ladybug by @diadraws
Ladybug receives an invitation at the end of a patrol! Contains some of my own headcanons, most notably: MIRACULOUS HOLDERS ARE CREATURES!!! They get actual animal traits when transformed instead of just a costume. My tumblr is diadraws where I elaborate some more on my headcanons which may add some additional context to this fic if you are interested! CONTENT WARNINGS: *major* depictions of panic attacks, discussion of child neglect/abuse, and a minor emetophobia (vomiting) warning towards the end.
I’ve loved the comics and fanart I’ve seen dia create for this AU, with Ladybug’s and Chat Noir’s more animalistic designs, so reading a fic set in that AU was a real treat! It’s mostly just a Ladrien sleepover at Adrien’s house, but it’s very nice and cozy, with some good character development of Adrien helping Ladybug with panic attacks she keeps having.
---
Our Tales Are Endless (That’s Why I Tell Them) by @joonapeach
Marinette lives a simple life - one surrounded by pretty dresses, fresh macaroons, and the calming view of Paris. It’s a life she thinks she has always fit in. And yet sometimes, when a certain boy comes by her shop with a flower and a new adventurous story, she can’t help but wonder if there’s something else she’s missing.
This was a truly gorgeous story. It’s the classic “Marinette gives up the Miracle Box and loses her memories” storyline, exploring her life two years later. Even though she’s had time to heal and recover, she still feels like she’s missing something, something big. At least Adrien’s stopping by regularly to tell her stories about Ladybug and Chat Noir, even if she doesn’t understand why they resonate with her so well.
---
a winter so warm by @rosekasa
winters were hard for even the best of vampires, but at least adrien had marinette to keep him warm with her cuddles. december was going to suck without her. so it was only to be expected to get extra cuddles in before she left, right? (well, not really, considering those heating supplements he was taking, but she didn’t need to know about that).
This one’s mostly just cute cuddly adorableness! It’s basically like all those “Marinette gets the Ladybug trait of needing to cuddle up to someone for warmth”, but with Adrien instead. And of course featuring Marinette being a very talented witch who just wants to help Adrien stay warm when she isn’t there XD.
---
The Power of Love by @nedjsmlfavs
In which Ladybug announces that she’s pregnant via her long term boyfriend and Chat Noir is a supportive partner. After all, he can hardly be upset when he’s been dating his Princess for years!
A different take on the show’s tagline (“The Power of Love Always so Strong”) written for Valentine’s day 2023.
This is just a sweet, fluffy fic about Ladybug and Chat Noir finding out they’re having a baby, revealing to each other, getting married, and becoming parents. Gabriel actually tries to do better here, as he does actually care about getting to know his grandchild, and realizes that he can’t undo this timeline without undoing his granddaughter’s existence as well.
---
Villainous Matchmaking by @nedjsmlfavs
When Chat Noir is tragically unable to attend an event with Ladybug, the mayor calls in a favor from a designer ‘friend’. Now she’s attending in style, on the arm of the hottest male model in Paris. Which would be fine if it weren’t for one, tiny issue: Paris’ favorite domestic terrorist now knows how Ladybug feels about his son. This leads him to his greatest plan yet, using Ladybug’s extremely obvious crush on Adrien Agreste to akumatize Chat Noir.
A Ladrien/“platonic” Ladynoir fic
This is adorable and hilarious. Gabriel keeps on “accidentally” releasing things which makes it looks like Adrien and Ladybug are a couple in an effort to make Chat Noir jealous, while Adrien and Ladybug ae just over-the-moon about getting to spend time together and finding out that the other person loves them XD.
---
Fate, Destiny... A Hamster by @mostmagical
After finally moving into his very first apartment per Ladybug’s suggestion, Adrien discovers something no movie or TV show could have ever prepared him for: someone else's hamster.
Marinette was so excited to have her first pet. If only it would stop escaping!
At least now there’s an excuse to talk to the new neighbor.
(Adrienette Never Met AU)
Funnily enough, this is based on a true story. Specifically, the author’s own experience of having her hamster run out and be found by a neighbor.
Anyway, this is adorable! Marinette and Adrien become smitten with each other extremely quickly, with Marinette’s hamster keeping giving them reasons to talk. Very effective wing-hamster, that one XD.
---
Through the Looking Glass by @jheqiawrites
Adrien is a lonely child, cut off from the outside world by his parent's strict rules. But when he discovers a window in his closet and sees a young girl looking back at him like his reflection, maybe he has hope for friendship after all.
Poor Adrien here, he makes a long-time friend (who everyone thinks is an imaginary friend), and has several great years interacting with her as his parents grow more concerned with him not growing out of it... and then Emilie dies, Gabriel orders the window destroyed, Adrien’s put on medication to suppress his “hallucinations” (which also makes him forget Marinette) and he’s just kind of left like that for the next several years, until he’s an adult.
Luckily, while Adrien forgot Marinette, Marinette never forgot him, and he’s not too difficult to track down...
This is some really cute Adrienette, if you want a “forgotten childhood friends-to lovers” Adrienette story, you should check this out!

Miraculous Conception series by @ladynoirfanao3
Summary of the first story, The Power Of Creation:
Everyone knows that Ladybug's cure fixes everything after the destruction wrought by Shadow Moth's akumatized villains. After an akuma with an unfortunate power leaves Ladybug and Adrien in an awkward position, Marinette has never been happier to simply forget. However, she soon discovers that her miraculous ladybugs have a limitation on their curing ability, a limitation that puts her in a situation she never expected to be in.
So basically, Ladybug and Adrien run into each other just as an akuma makes everyone in the vicinity extremely horny, and when they both start remembering things again, they’re in a pretty... compromising position. But it’s just an akuma so they put it out of their heads, until Marinette discovers she’s pregnant and has to decide what to do about it, whether to keep the pregnancy, tell Adrien she’s Ladybug and is having his baby, what to do with the earrings when she’s too pregnant to be Ladybug, etc.
I really enjoyed it! Just watching Ladybug and Adrien try and navigate the situation, especially with secret identities thrown into the mix.
The main fics in the series are basically the same story, it’s just that the first one is from Marinette’s perspective, while the second one is from Adrien’s. The Power of Creation is rated M while the Power of Destruction is rated E, but for both fics it’s just rated that for a single sex scene that occurs in the fic (with it being the same sex scene in both fics, just told from two different perspectives).

you made me a hero - reverse crush short stories series by @non-fantasy
This series is just plain fun! Like the title says, it’s a reverse crush AU, so Adrien’s head-over-heels for Marinette, while Ladybug’s smitten with Chat Noir. Which means that Adrien’s constantly trying to woo Marinette while Ladybug’s attempting to have normal conversations with Chat Noir (and failing), and both of them are oblivious to each other’s feelings.
I love the way non-fantasy executes it, with Alya literally carrying around a spray bottle because of how eager Adrien is, and Ladybug being VERY SCARY if you ever lay a finger on Chat Noir (seriously akumas will literally beg for their akumatized object to be broken just to escape her wrath).
Oh, also, Ladybug regularly stops by Adrien’s room so they can both lament how difficult of a time they’re having wooing their crushes, and just have fun together.
There’s a lot of entries in this series - 29 of them in fact - but most of them are pretty short, making it great if you want to devour some quick, cute, hilarious romcom action!
Some stuff does actually change over the course of the series, it’s not just slice-of-life. Like identity reveals, dating, and even Hawkmoth’s defeat, so there’s clear progression and changes in circumstances as well.

Dreams of You by @chocoluckchipz
Dreams had long been his only escape. Dreams of Ladybug, the girl who had always been there for him.
If only in his dreams. And only while she was also sleeping.
Because with the first rays of sunshine gliding over her skin, with the first fluttering of her eyelashes, from the moment she opened her eyes in the morning, memories of Adrien would vanish from her mind.
She would go on living her life.
He would always be the only one who remembered.
At least until they meet in the real world and fall in love all over again, something that would’ve been easier to do if Adrien wasn't a prisoner in his own home.
Chocoluckchipz has some of the most beautifully executed lovesquare fics I’ve read, and this is no exception. Most of the fic is dedicated to Adrien wooing Marinette, spending time with her, with her own dream self acting as his wingman, giving her tips on how to get her to fall for him, all the while frustrated that she can’t share memories with her waking self, and that she and Adrien can’t share as much information as they’d like while asleep, due to limitations of the “curse” that allows Adrien to share dreams with his soulmate.
It’s not all cute Adrienette fluff though. There’s a threat in the background waiting to erupt, as the weirdness of Gabriel’s ultimatum to Adrien about finding Ladybug or else being forced to marry Lila keeps on gnawing at him - and with good reason. This is a world with magic and kwamis still, and that fact makes itself very relevant in the last third of the story.
It’s a well-written tale and very much worth a read!

So. A combination of reading final girl, this one TikTok comic, my love for marichat, and my apparent insomnia has lead to this:
Guardian au where that first day, Fu seeks a holder for the Black Cat Miraculous and, instead of a new holder for the Ladybug, a new guardian to train.
Chat Noir is the sole ‘savior of Paris’
He can’t purify akumas but instead absorbs them, which, according to Fu, will destroy the akuma’s corruption. No “bye bye little butterfly” more like “Die die bitchy moth”(the corruption isn’t fully distorted and has its effects bc the universe hates Adrien agreste)
Fu is strictly against awakening the Ladybug because he doesn’t want to risk loosing it bc he has trauma over loosing the butterfly and peacock already and he absolutely cannot loose Creation.
He’s fine with using the Black Cat because while the miraculous might be a tiny bit *cough cough* unstable, Creation can fix any of the damage done by Destruction and the two miraculous are a pair so if he looses the Cat, the Ladybug will lead him to it or something idk I haven’t thought that one through.
So anyways, after stoneheart and the akuma multiplying is over, Paris is in ruins. Not like big big ruins but like, casualty rates are really high, some people are still statues, and there’s a shit ton of property damage. It’s been days and the popo are still dragging bodies out of the rubble. Ppl are angry at chat noir bc of all the damage left behind and all that yada yada.
Adrien himself is all like oh shot naur I do not wanna do this anymore, oh and he’s like bruised all over from the many, many times he’s been slammed into hard things and fallen from his baton. He’s feeling guilty and in pain and is like, bro I only wanted to go do school not this shit.
He miles around and despairs for a while and after like a week of Paris dealing with the damage, Fu gains a brain cell and does some voodoo shit with the ladybug miraculous so that it doesn’t fully awaken, puts the earrings on and calls for the cure.
Everything goes back to normal; the dead are waking up in morgues, buildings are fixing themselves, injuries are going away, stone monsters are turning back into people, wveything is back to normal. Except, the cure, when it washes over Adrien does…nothing. It doesn’t heal him and cleanup his injuries, just makes him feel weird.
Adrien’s body is rejecting the Miraculous Cure, and that leads to issues but Adrien does not have his priorities straight so instead of going “oh no the magic bandaid isn’t helping me I’m going to get killed by one of these nasty bug thingies help guardian dude!” He’s just like “oh thank god Paris is a-okay I guess I don’t mind being a super hero if people stop dying” he has no self preservation because he’s a looser.
Anyways so that’s that. Chadrien absorbs akumas which makes him weird, fu presses the restart button on the Ladybug whenever Chadrien beats an akuma. Reset does not work for Adrien and leaves him in his bloody bruised state.
Adrien doesn’t really care that he’s not getting healed by the cure, he just patches himself up and for some reason people can’t really see the injuries even though he can feel them very very clearly so it doesn’t interfere with his modeling.
He doesn’t gaf until he starts like having emo symptoms from the corrupt butterflies that he’s eating (no I don’t know what the symltoms are yet probably like fucked up morality, violence, cat like tendencies, more carnivorous diet, sharp teeth… okay so I kind of know the symptoms) and plagg is like this shit is happening because the Ladybug isn’t awake and the two miraculous balance each other out and his magic is off kilter and he’s having side effects.
After a while of this and Adriens symptoms getting worse, and his body rejecting the cure even more, Adrien is fed up with Fu because “wdym you can’t wake up the Ladybug you’re literally using it every time to reset everything, the miraculous is already on the chess board, just use her!” And he’s pissed because Fu is chilling in some cozy apartment not lifting a finger or risking life and limb like he is to keep Paris safe and he gets to just woosh woosh make it all disappear from a safe distance when Adrien is in a state halfway to death since he got the his ring?
So he’s prissy about it and is always bugging Fu abt it but he’s an idiot as we’ve established and doesn’t mention the cure not working on him and instead of seeing it as a cry for help as in “oh no this is so much work I need a partner” and not what adorn actually means which is “oh for fucks sake I’m dying right now I need my partner” and Fu is like oh so you’re lonely right? (Which yes but that’s not the point???) and let’s him give out another miraculous so he has help fighting.
Adrien is so close to just cataclysming this old man it’s not even funny. He takes the miraculous and sure it helps and he’s not getting injured as much but he’s still eating akumas and that’s shitty especially when he’s puking black nasty shit now. Oh ya, as hawkmoth’s akumas get more dangerous, the akumas get more nasty and fuck with Adrien more than usual. And the more dangerous they are the more injured he gets.
One day after a particular rough akuma, Adrien is leaping through the city trying to get soemwhere quiet si he can maybe patch up the hole in his stomach(it’s not a big hole) and he’s excgahsred and he settles onto a particular balcony. He just lays there for a little, accidenoy knocks over a couple plants and just slouches against the wall and closes his eyes with a sigh and wishes he just stayed in that fucking house because he literally just wanted to go to school god damnit
Meanwhile… Marinette comes home from having this weird old guy fill her brain to the brim with new knowledge about magic jewels and powers and gods and guardians and the catman flying about and she wants nothing more than to climb into her bed and go to sleep. But then she hears somebody on her roof and is like wtf???
She grabs her weapon of choice (a paddle don’t ask) and climbs onto her balcony and then she sees the emo cat boy bleeding on her lawn chair.
She’s till tempted to whack him in the face but he’s bleeding and she’s training to be a Gaurdian apparently so it’s her job to like…patch him up right?
(Also the whole time she’s like, why is he still injured?? The cure should’ve healed him and is wondering if she should let Fu know abt this)
She gets him to stay and rushes back down to her room, grabs some fabric and like shoved onto his wound to stanch the bleeding all while muttering abt how expensive this fabric was dammit
And Adrien is just…starstruck… and confused. Like wtf is happening and how?? And as she’s like stopping the bleeding he’s just staring at her and like woah she’s really pretty(as she’s mourning her pretty fabric, scowls at him, and has his blood all over her hands and her shirt at this point) (Chadrien’s ring burns and his heart skips a beat but he’s a bit busy bleeding and ogling his classmate to notice)
At some point he’s like I have to…go? And she’s like bitch u have a whole in ur chest?? Where you gonna go with that?? And he’s like umm…magic?
She convinces him to stay for a sec, runs down, grabs pain killers, remembers that her parents keep a first aid kit down in the bakery, rushes down to grab the gauze, and by the time she makes it back up to the balcony she makes it back to the balcony her arms are filled with day old pastries, painkillers, a cat plushy and a pack of princess themed bandaids.
Chadrien refuses to question anything and takes all of it, says his good byes and thanks yous and leaps(limps) back home, barley managing to not fall on his face.
He feels light, lighter than he has since receiving his ring. He goes home and detransforms, plagg settles on his chest to work the corruption out of his wounds and Adrien contemplates the orange cat plushy on his pillow and thinks. He can’t help feeling like has changed, something big. He goes to sleep with smile tugging at his lips and sapphire eyes his mind.
Marinette stares after him long after he’s disappeared, deep in thought with a frown on her face. Eventually, she goes back down to her room and settles under the covers, a heavy feeling of foreboding twists itself into her chest.
The next morning, Master Fu is surprised to see her at his door before the rises, he wasn’t sure she’d ever comeback on her own accord. Nonetheless, he lets her in and makes them tea before answering all of her questions. If he notices that there are more inquiries than usual about the Miracle Cure, he does not show it.
So that’s that.

"Hmph. I still wonder which one of those gossiping curs put me together with that Oni lady... I've only spoken to her once..."
❛❛. . . My anons are just really strange! ❜❜ Akuma said with a sheepish smile, tilting her head to the side. ❛❛They did the same with me and Zohakuten. Plus, You two seem pretty weird, so you're meant for each other !! ❜❜ Akuma was obviously joking about that. She was overall nervous about the whole shipping situation, And she'll never forget (or maybe she will due to brain damage) that her anons are crazy, Because they threw a brick at her head before.

Hey! Here's some ideas I've had for the other potions:
Dog: Let's you find easily any object you need. This could be useful to find the objects that contain the Akuma, useful objects in fights or even objects you lost in your daily live. It works like your sense of smell gets bigger, and that's how you find the objects. (The main problem is that it could allow the heroes to find Monarch's hiding place easily by finding his weapon- so maybe there's a limited distance, and it only starts working in that distance. So, after you drink the potion, you'd have to go in a specific distance nearby the object to start "smelling" it. It could also simply don't work with any of the "natural objects" of the wonder- aka the clothes and weapons- but it would work with the akumatized objects because it wouldn't be part of the butterfly wonder. Basically, doesn't work with wonder's weapons and clothes, but if somehow the heroes were able to put any other object in the person- such as like, a hairclip- they would be able to sense where it went)
Goat: Gives you better craft skills. In civilian form, it could help you find more practical ways to build stuff (from DIYs to helping you build bigger stuff such as a house)- while in hero form, it could help you make useful weapons with basic stuff that you have around you (Basically what we call "Gambiarra" In portuguese- when you improvise stuff with what you have and it works) (Although the talisman kinda already does it, it could be useful to other heroes that don't have the Ladybug wonder, or to the Ladybug holder when they fail to use the talisman or simply need more than the talisman in the fight. Also it doesn't have to be limited to create stuff with things you have, it could also just improve your "building" skills in general, such as building houses etc- but I think it is kinda similar to the rooster potion, so it's complicated)
Monkey: So, I've had two ideas: The first one is that it let's you confuse you opponent easier, making him be distracted by you while you or your partner attack them. The other is that it is Actually a potion that you Throw in battle (like some Minecraft potions), and the person hit By it gets really confused, sees hallucinations, etc- like the monkey power does, but mentally and not physically. But this could be ALSO useful to use when a person is, for example, in great pain and/or in need of anesthetics. If you drink small amounts, the confusion will make your brain forget the pain and help you, it could save someone or save you a bit in a battle although it has the confusion side effects :D (I think the second option is cooler)
Ox: You get a great resistance in battle, not only from magical attacks but from physical attacks too. It can reduce great part of the damage. When you're civilian, it could help you if you had a dangerous job
Horse: let's you move around easier. For example, do you want to get from point A to point B in the most practical way possible? The potion would let you find the path that gets you there faster, showing any possible dangers and etc. It could be useful if you were chasing an Akuma that was pretty far from you and you HAD to get them, or if you're running from something and wanna be fast enough to not be caught
Mouse: I couldn't really find one for this one lol, unless you consider "multiplication" as a math skill. So it would make you great in math and, although it sounds a bit unuseful, if you had to for example make a plan that needs you to calculate stuff (like dipper from GF planning how to get the plushie for Wendy), it would help you have a much bigger hability in it. Math is really present in many stuff so, who knows (but I think this would be kinda hard to incorporate and stull a bit unuseful lol)
Apologies for taking so long to answer! (also for possibly being messy oopsie Ive been writing this in bulks)
All of those ideas are brilliant and I love them so much and thank you for contrubiting to the world Its not much but I appreciate it so aaaaaaaaa.
MnP ✦ Wonder Extracts ✦ Part 1.5
I couldn't for the life of me figure out how I wanted to tackle this post and I had just about 3 versions filled to brim with paragraphs. In the end, I feel like talking about each idea separately will be better and more organized + certain paragraphs that talk about a few changes to the potion system and how they'll contribute to the story. I hope It's at least somewhat cohesive now..
But first, I'll explain the words I use because I realize they might get a little mixed up sometimes
EXTRACT - The "pure" form. Not shaped into anything yet, It's a general/replacement term for original potions. ESSENCE - Burning essence, in short. These extracts are best to be used as a sort of "aromatherapy" and Master Fu often uses them for that exact purpose. POTION - Extracts that are best used for the actual fights like Elation and Evolution Potions.
Anyway, I'll start by introducing the MnP Potions once again and how they appear in the story. Potions are something NEW. The clan of Guardians has fallen while the Wuxing Wonders were still there, which means even the idea of something of a special extract with one of their properties was an entirely new idea, or at least one that wasn't explored in full just yet, because nobody expected them to be destroyed. In the episode where they'll be introduced to the heroes, Master Fu has only found recipes for extracts that are not very compatible in fight such as the Pig (relieves of stress) and Rooster extract (improves focus) and its the heroes who will have to help him find one that will help them defeat the villain.
A bit more misc info, but I like to think that the Wonder essences wil be very addicting. After all, they help you out or deal with something which is why Master Fu is the only one to really hold those recipes to make sure his beloved heroes don't take over-the-average doses so to speak.
Worth noting, I won't be using all the potions nor will I have them all discovered. Maybe some will require something that is no longer accessible or requires knowledge beyond Master Fu's rank.
Dog - That one's really good - especially to Hantengu situations. Maybe the villain is super small, but also super fast and requires a lot of attention to keep track of, but the Dog Potion will allow them to find and defeat them! I have to get it tangled into the story somehow now...
Goat - I'll be real with you, I never liked the Goat Miraculous in the show. Like. I genuinely hated the fact that it existed. However, It being an extract that boosts your creativity is actually SICK and could fit a lot, but only as a burning essence. I don't think It would work well as a potion and would more resemble like. drugs. Either way, It could be used in the story for a number of ways like maybe Jiayi uses it when in artblock or hell, I'd be funny If Adrien brought it home and Gabriel used it too!
Monkey - This one puzzled me a lot, because It could be really good! Unfortunately, the power of Peacock Wonder is eerily similar to the original Monkey miraculous and I don't want to have them overlap.
However, we can use the fact that the Monkey miraculous was inspired by the Sun Wukong - a chinese myth creature. I figured as such from the headpiece. In the myths, Wukong was able to transform into 72 different animals and that gives us something to go off. Perhaps the Monkey Potion could allow the person who drank it to disguise themselves or give off the impression that they're not actually THE person. A bit drastic example but lets say that Monarch gets his sticky hands on the potion. He could easily fool Wonderbug that he's Chat Noir by taking his form. It actualy gave me an idea for a revamped power of the Monkey, kind of a shame I can't use it anymore
Ox - Really good!... But It might be too overpowered. Perhaps It will only work with physical attacks or direct attacks to your body so that It wouldn't work well against someone like Stormy Weather or Evilustrator. With this minor tweak, It would work with someone like Gorizilla or even Monarch himself and the balance is kept enough for it to appear again, but not every single episode
Horse - See, here I wasn't sure If the power was good enough to be the Wonder's power or If I should tweak it somehow to make it a little less powerful. It's an amazing ability to be able to find the best path to something, someone, but I feel like It's a little too much for an extract.
Mouse - Multiplication is a good idea to go off from and I think that while It could still be ueful as an essence, It wouldn't appear very often.. Now, after a bit of thinking about this, this might as well be one potion that doesn't have to be consumed, but instead poured onto something. As the mouse Wonder's power is to duplicate, the potion (holding a fragment of the artifact's power) could cause ITEMS to duplicate. In case of being consumed by a human or kwami or anything else, I think It would be too weak to do something which limits its power. At first I thought the mouse extract could boost not only math, but also logic skills.. but then again Rooster already boosts focus, I think It's better to leave them distinct - similar to Horse and Dog.
Once again, thank you so much for giving these ideas to me I'm really happy someone is interested enough to provide me with their little something or their thoughts about it!! DO IT MORE I LOVE READING ALL OF IT!!!!

I may be projecting my disappointment at ML onto you and/or may have missed it, but is there a reason Gabe doesn't just akumatize Natalie into someone who could heal Emilie or become a Miraculous bloodhound? I mean beyond the fact that he's a smooth-brained moron.
I think that's a fair criticism to have! The show does it to keep the status quo intact, and I'm more interested in telling Chloé's story than Hawk Moth's pursuit of the big two jewels (not to say I'm uninterested, of course, but To Rule Alone is Chloé's story first and foremost), but I would agree that I could be doing a better job of explaining just how is it that Gabe hasn't been more successful. Since the next chapter will probably come next year, I'll try to explain without spoiling too much!
There's a few factors to consider here, mostly centered around the innate protection that the Miraculous - and more so the Kwamis - give to their Holders. It's been mentioned in the story already that (in this universe, of course) Hawk Moth can't directly take the Miraculous from LB and CN by force - I can't give you specifics, but it would harm him beyond his transformation's ability to protect him, perhaps not quite killing him outright, but certainly spelling doom for him in more ways than simply his physical wellbeing, hence his use of Akumas to act as proxies and potentially take the brunt of the damage for him.
There's also the natural obfuscation magic that protects Miraculous Holders - Kwamis can't reveal the identity of their Holders to other people, the transformation (regardless of the actual design of the headgear) makes it so that a Holder can't be identified by their voice or appearance, and it even provides some protection against magical tracking. For instance, if the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses were active, but Hawk Moth didn't know where they were, he'd be able to use certain spells to track them down, but wouldn't be able to narrow down their location beyond knowing their general area. He'd be able to know they're in Paris, but not where in Paris, for example.
You also need to keep in mind that, at least on paper, any one Akuma has the potential to be "the one"; obviously, some villains are stronger or more versatile than others, but the point of Hawk Moth's attacks is to probe LB and CN's defenses, trying to find their weak point - they have the most powerful Miraculouses in their possession, so trying to take them down without thoroughly studying their capabilities would be a fool's errand. On top of that, Akumas are limited by the source of their negative emotions (which mostly shapes their form and abilities) and how much of his own power Hawk Moth is willing to lend the Akumatized villain - the more powerful the Akuma, the more vulnerable he becomes, and though he's safely nestled in his hidey hole for now, giving too much power to what's essentially a servant could definitely backfire on him.
I think Gabe's issue isn't that he's a moron - though he might not be as much of a mastermind as he hypes himself up to be - but that he's not flexible enough to adapt and evolve his plans. Right now, he's playing by the rules - using the Akumas as proxies, keeping himself safe unless he absolutely needs to step out, relying on his minions to eventually overpower LB instead of trying to outsmart her. He thinks this should be relatively easy, and it's becoming increasingly obvious that it's not. Whether or not he'll be able to realize his mistakes and up his game, we'll just have to see.
