my favorite fact about the layton games that most people dont realize is that even though hershel is the protagonist every game is through luke’s POV

#its easy to miss this though but like if you really pay attention to the way the perspective point and click shots are set up #along with the way each layton game begins with luke writing to a friend (the player) about the events of the story #it becomes most obvious in the light novels that are told entirely from luke’s first person prescriptive #interestingly nwos seems to be breaking this trend with the letter luke writes the start being addressed to hershel #plus the new camera that focuses on layton and luke in the environment rather than just luke’s POV #professor layton #pl #hershel layton #luke triton

Despite the tense situation in earthbread with the new beasts in your AU, do the common folk still try to organize festivities and events despite it all? Like Summer Soda Rock Festa, or Grand Cookie Games, or the lantern tradition from Snowfall Village (even though the village itself is long gone)?

Oh for sure! To some capacity there are still festivities like that, but they also react to the harder times everyone lives in. While I can’t say all of those are still around (who knows if there are circumstances that led to any of them halting?), different civilizations still keep up their traditions to keep cookies happy like they always do. I could see a festival happening in the Crème Republic or Parfaedia, Clotted Cream could go outside for once :)

#I’ve had cute images of parfait/others traveling around performing for those who are sad/scared #never choosing to address the beasts and instead focusing on lifting everyone’s spirits since #it’s what they know how to do best #beast ancients au ask #yeah the world of baau is certainly tense and scary but I wouldn’t say it’s like a post apocalyptic no-fun-allowed environment #happiness finds a way even in the darkest hours :)

#planeswalker’s guide to tarkir dragonstorm #Sultai #tarkir dragonstorm #mtg #magic the gathering #honestly I love what they’ve done with every clan though #the mardu clash of sky and ember is epic and makes total sense in an environment full of storms and wimd #also it’s nice to see their technological abilities emphasized and how they can actually contribute to global trade #instead of just raiding everyone all the time #the abzan seem pretty similar to their pre-dtk incarnation which makes sense for a clan so focused on tradition #I’m glad they stopped kidnapping orphans though #the jeskai also seem pretty similar in terms of overall societal structure and ideals #I can’t say much about the temur. this planeswalker’s guide certainly goes into a lot more detail on their actual traditions #and survival strategies than the old ktk planeswalker’s guide which is nice #the sultai change is probably the most dramatic and the most deserved though.#I mean there’s definitely a place for ruthlessly exploitative civilizations but against the backdrop of liberation from the dragonlords #it’s nice to see the sultai becoming a much fairer and more prosperous society

i think my ideal cat story would be a completely silent graphic novel with the emotions expressed only through the cat's behaviors. it would follow a young male cat leaving his colony to travel a post-apocalyptic world that he has always known and will never comprehend.
