(yes i included a very intense ship work in progress fanart to apply for my education what of it hsjfhds) SO IT WAS STILL IN CANVA, the bad news tho I only used the screenshot because the file was too big so the pic was bad quality huhu... so I went to "make ur png more hd" websites so that's probably why the 2nd pic would look kinda ai generated (vomits)

so it all started from there! I repainted the whole thing with the foundation I've redrawn and I hope the lessons I got from being a Fine Arts freshman rn paid off HAHAHA

this is a really small and unimportant detail but i think it’s worth noting how, at the start, loid would leave his toddler daughter locked in an apartment all by herself while he attended his spy business but now he brings her with him to meetings with his boss simply because she wanted to play in the park.

considering melinda’s scary change in attitude happened after damian mentions donovan, i think she hates her husband. they probably have a toxic relationship that melinda finds herself stuck in.

she might have conflicting feelings about her children because they are also his children. they remind her of him. it would explain how she sees damian as “her curse” and why she wishes he’d died during the hijacking. maybe she thinks that if she were free of the one thing tying them together, their child, then she would be free of donovan too.

it also makes me question if demetrius is actually her son, since the way she’s speaking about damian makes it sound like he’s her only child but who knows

all those things considered, i can imagine the whole “friendship” between yor and melinda going one of two ways:

1. melinda gets jealous of yor and her perfect life with her perfect husband and her perfect love for her child so she tries to harm her.

2. they get close enough that yor discovers the truth about melinda’s marriage. she helps her get out of that sticky situation. melinda becomes much better and actually starts unconditionally loving damian. damian feels grateful to anya because her mom helped his become a better and more involved mother so he invites anya and loid to play in his house and meet donovan (as per anya’s request) and World Peace™ is achieved.

(alright, the second one is a joke but this is spy x family we’re talking about so i honestly wouldn’t put it past endo to give us a similar resolution)

note: while this is an analysis on melinda desmond, this is not me excusing her behavior in the slightest. whatever is happening in her marriage, her kid is not at fault and he shouldn’t suffer the consequences of adult conflict. especially not if said kid is damian desmond who is my perfect little baby classist angel child 🫶🏼
