“Stone Cold” Steve Austin def. Shawn Michaels (c) for the WWF World Championship with special guest enforcer Mike Tyson in 20:02

Tyson is out as the special guest enforcer, and then Austin gets the behind the scene shots ready for the glass break. It hits and the crowd goes wild. Tyson boos him as he stomps around the ring. They mouth off and just the difference in energy between this year and the previous year is wild. Triple H flips off the camera as DX walk to the curtain. The DX band plays HBK out and it’s a cool entrance. The DX titantron visuals help this feel big knowing that this was the last hurrah for this incarnation before Shawn went away. The crowd is hot for Austin! Shawn is prancing around to taunt Austin and gets flipped off for his trouble. HBK strikes Austin and runs, he catches him with a big elbow off the ropes in the ring and the crowd loves it! Austin catches HBK by the tights and reveals his whole rear end, he beats him from pillar to post and throws him outside onto Triple H. He gets blindsided by HHH but then the ref decides instead of disqualifying HBK, Triple H and Chyna are ejected from ringside. Austin beats HHH up the ramp but HBK attacks from behind and hits him with a cymbal from the band. He whips him into a dumpster and brings him back into the ring. He heads up top but Austin catches him on the way down. He throws him into the corner with great effect and a big atomic drop. He works over HBK but he fights back. HBK off the ropes but Austin drops him on the top rope. Nearly gets a stunner off the ropes but HBK retreats, and gets sent off the apron into the table. Off the steps and elbows on the apron, then Austin attacks in the ring. Austin locks in a chin lock but is able to escape with a jaw-jacker. HBK drags Austin to the ring post but Austin is able to pull HBK into it. They brawl outside with Austin launched over the barricade and hit with the bell. Chioda misses it but Tyson doesn’t yet says nothing. HBK works over Austin in the ring and you can see him favouring his back. HBK flips off the crowd but Austin takes him down and throws some mounted punches in response, then launches him outside. HBK is then able to fling his leg into the post three times and gain control in the ring. He targets the leg until Austin is able to launch him into the ring post. HBK kicks out of a roll up and again targets the leg. Austin rolls outside and HBK hits a baseball slide that sends Austin onto the table. Tyson throws Austin in the ring and HBK hits a chop block and locks in a Figure 4 Leglock. Austin is able to turn it over though and HBK gets the ropes. Austin mounts a comeback with some shots and a catapult into the corner. A rollup is unsuccessful and then HBK gets the sleeper hold in. They back into referee Mike Chioda in the corner and Austin beats up HBK and stomps a whole in him. HBK gets a forearm and there’s a double down until HBK kips up. He heads up top and hits an elbow drop, then sets up for Sweet Chin Music. Austin ducks, HBK reverses a stunner, goes for another Sweet Chin Music but Austin catches it, hits a stunner, and DX’s man Tyson jumps in and counts a quick three count! Austin is the winner! He gives Tyson a 3:16 shirt and he holds it aloft to HBK’s disbelief. He takes it off him as they argue, he throws it away, punches Tyson but gets a right hand in response. Tyson lifts Austin’s hand as he celebrates, then he lays the shirt over HBK. 

Pros: Austin is so over, the build up to his offense is so well done, nice finish, strong action Cons: HBK is hurt and can be painful to watch at times, intensity dies down in the middle

This match is pretty legendary without anything too flashy happening. It’s a great brawl with some high stakes, high impact action, and Austin being so red hot makes it a wonderful clash. Tyson’s involvement doesn’t overstay its welcome and while the match isn’t the most epic even with good action, the ovation and response they get adds so much to it.
