im well aware that its profoundly cringe to admit to this publicly, alright, but sometimes i just stop to think and realize.. literally my entire life would be radically different if i hadnt been into homestuck when i was 14. like, i would not have had some of the fundamentally important relationships that shaped the way my teen years and young adulthood went. and due to this i would not be living in this home. i would not have the same friends today. i would have been in very different social circles and mightve evolved very differently as a person. i literally might not be alive - i have had my life quite literally saved by friends who i met or bonded with through being into this shitty comic, and by literally i mean was physically prevented from dying last minute. like thats crazy?? and all over homestuck????

Michelle anon again! So when Michelle being totally on brand and saying that they weren't labelling their relationship yet (because they are awkward dorks) people went on about how oh wtnv is burying it's lesbians they're too lesbophobic to say that these two are gfs see this is the proof that wtnv wasn't ever really lgbt positive and then later they said Michelle and her gf Maureen and everyone mysteriously stfu and pretending they hadn't jumped to conclusions lmao

And well yes, that was jumping to conclusion and just very dumb, like almost all discourse surrounding this podcast, if I'm honest. Michelle not putting a label on her relationship is completely in character and also many people IRL also do not like to label their relationships and it doesn't make them less their sexuality. Yes we knew that Michelle and Maureen liked each other and were some flavour of wlw, but honestly one or both could have also been ace and been in an aplatonic relationship. We really were not actually 'in the know' at all. And WTNV hiding it's gays??? HAHAHAHA!!!

There's watching out for 'phobic things jic and then there's a certain amount of paranoia where maybe you need to chill out, ya know?

i have dealt with an 3at1n6 d150rd3r since i was 13. i started off with 4n4 then it turned into m1a then most recently it turned into b3d, now im back where i started, with 4n4.

So I guess medicine has changed a lot, because in the fiction I read people are always encouraged to rest more and not get out of bed or not leave their rooms. irl the medical team will be thrilled if your character is up and about, even more thrilled if they’ve got friends/family around who will stop them from falling on their ass, bc falls are one of the number one causes of in hospital injury and are made into a big hospital quality thing. Most medical teams don’t have the extra hands to take 30+min jaunts with patients, but if the character’s fam wants to whisk them away to the cafeteria then by all means let the nurses know where they’re going and get your characters out of those insanity inducing tiny rooms. As long as your character isn’t a fall risk, go ahead and have them take that iv out on a field trip.

On room assignments; a lot of times if a character is with friends/family in a car accident or something then they would get split up in the hospital or between hospitals because there aren’t always many beds available, and adult vs child appropriate resources are separated into different floors or wings. Most new construction for hospitals is based on single occupancy rooms bc that generally is a big factor in patient satisfaction. Most shared rooms are likely to be in an older part of the hospital and on a low acuity floor. Unfortunately there’s not good ways to make a large room a temporary double bc you’d need to double all of the equipment and most hospitals can’t reasonably duplicate everything (trying to get the equivalent of a second wall o2 in a room with tanks sounds like a fire hazard).

Anyway, jic someone is planning to write hospital scenes in a fic. There’s a lot to consider.

im really really scared of following and interacting with people here. what if once i get comfortable and talk a little bit abt my life, they backstab me and tell people abt my life? probably a stupid worry, but im so scared. i WANT to interact with people more but what if that happens? what if it's becomes so so bad to the point it starts affecting me irl? what if people find out who i am irl and then harass me? what happens then? im so scared of this but i know i need to get over this to talk and interact w people more. how do i just act normal abt this? my brain is not handling this very well.
