Formal rehearsal for Trooping the Colour with added canine charm.

8th June 2024. According to the British Army's X post today, "More than 1,200 soldiers took part, together with 242 horses and an enormous dog."
They were taking part in the Colonel's Review, the final rehearsal of next week's Trooping The Colour.
The enormous dog is my friend Seamus, officially named Turlough Mor, mascot of the Irish Guards.
Do not panic Seamus... I will be there next Saturday!

New kid thing - Arsenal teen!r
Summary: Y/n gets her period during her first day of training at Arsenal, and the girls make sure she is comfortable.
Warnings: Y/n has a small platonic crush on Leah, but nothing weird since she is just 17.
Word count: 2k
Masterlist here
..
Training with a new team for the first time was embarrassing enough, especially if you were a 17-year-old girl making your debut with a senior team where half the players had played in the Olympics, the World Cup, or both.
Y/n felt out of her depth—nervous and, frankly, like a child trying to fill shoes that were too big for her. She knew she had to be at least a little talented to have signed a two-year contract with the Gunners, but her nerves wouldn't let her relax.
The team immediately noticed her nervousness and was quite good at making Y/n feel welcome. After a few pleasantries from McCabe and Kyra, Y/n even smiled a little and told the girls about her history with football, and how she got into the sport. She had a nice chat with the two Arsenal girls and felt a real connection with them, probably because they were also foreigners in the country.
“It's going to be a little weird at first,” McCabe said. “A lot of new faces, a new culture, a new way of training and playing, but don’t worry, you'll fit right in.” The Irish sat down besides Y/n and patted her on the back.
“Yeah, and if you need someone to talk to, or want to wind out and maybe go for a walk to get to know London you can call me,” Kyre smiled. “Besides, all these old women have no idea about the cool places in London, I know a few places and would be happy to take you.
“Wow, are you calling us old and lame?” McCabe argued
The two girls began to argue as Y/n laughed and giggled.
The rest of the day went smoothly, much to Y/n's surprise. She met many of the staff and was pleased to learn that Arsenal had a team of psychologists, gynecologists and even psychiatrists. Professional players know how hard it is to find a medical specialty that also understands the toll that sport can take on the body, and how some treatments work for non-footballers but don't for footballers, especially because of inadvertent doping caused by convenient medicine and all that.
The team was doing some cool-down stretches while listening to country music - it was Leah's day to choose the music played during training - and Y/n was humming along to some of the songs she knew. Suddenly the 17-year-old felt a familiar pain in her stomach.
Fuck no, not now, Y/ n thought to herself. She couldn't be having her period right now. It was her first day on a professional team, she was wearing white shorts and everyone was there, chatting away in a semicircle, even captain Leah Williamson, who Y/n had been fangirling since she was 13-years-old.
Y/n was well aware that periods were normal, and that they happened to every single woman on the team, but she was still embarrassed about it. Would they think she was immature? Not having the fucking capacity to pack at least one pad or tampon in her training bag?
Ok, maybe she was being too hard on herself.
Y/n just needed the older girls to finish their cooldown first, so she could be the last to leave the gym.
Five minutes passed. Then 10, and then 15… All the girls were still stretching their legs and thighs. Y/n looked around, trying to come up with another escape plan as the Arsenal women seemed to be enjoying their stretching time a little too much.
“You ok, Y/n?” Leah asked, catching Y/n off guard. It wasn’t that the captain was unwelcoming or anything, but Leah hadn’t really talked to her besides the classic greetings. Y/n remembered watching an interview where Leah said she was a bit more reserved with new people, and that she needed time to warm up, so she wasn’t very bummed about that.
“Oh, yeah, very much ok… yeah!” Y/n lied, and it was a very bad lie because none of the girls believed it, they just looked at her instead.
“It’s ok to be nervous, Y/n,” Lessie said, patting Y/n’s arm. “Everyone here was new at first, except Leah who’s been here since she was a kid,” Lessie joked cheekily, looking at the captain. “I know you’ll feel more at home in no time.”
Lessie was a real sweetie, trying to make Y/n feel welcome, little did she know that the whole new kid thing had moved way down the list of her problems today.
“Thank you, Lessie. It will get easier in the next few days.” Y/n smiled. Thank God the girls haven’t known her yet, because they would have been able to tell right away how much of a fake smile Y/n was putting on.
The 17-year-old shifted her position, stretching her arm and trying not to move too much, afraid that the blood would stainfic her kit. Well, who she was kidding, judging by her flow it was safe to say that her bottom and the middle of her tights were a war zone right now.
She just needed to wait a few more minutes and then the players would all be gone and the girl would be able to take a shower in the changing room, then take a cap home, put a pad on, and clean her kit as if nothing happened.
Just a few more minutes and no one would know.
One by one the girls got up and went to the changing room to get ready to go home. Y/n prayed that they would take their showers at home and not in the changing room, that way they would go home faster and Y/n would be able to get the situation under control.
McCabe and Foord were the last ones to get up from the floor. “Are you coming, Y/n?” The Matilda asked, smiling.
“Yeah, right behind you,” Y/n said with fake enthusiasm.
When the two older women entered the changing room Y/n waited for a few minutes. Y/n stood up very carefully, scared to look at the floor and find a pool of her period blood, luckily the floor was spotless.
“Ok, that was close, I just need to—”
“Oh kid, I think you got your period!”
No, no, no, no.
Y/n froze.
The voice Y/n heard came from behind her back, it belonged to Leah. The young girl was mortified, Leah could very well see the stain of blood in her clothes.
Fuck, getting your period unexpectedly was very embarrassing, but to have Leah Williamson, team captain, and lioness captain, the woman who you had a very innocent crush on (who wouldn't? come on), tell you you had period was even worse, Y/n thought to herself, still trying to find the courage to face the captain.
Y/n felt a warm hand on her shoulder. “I’ve got some tampons if you need them, They’re in my locker, c’mon, I’ll give you some, ok?” Leah said, her voice soft now as if she knew the girl was embarrassed.
Y/n turned around, her cheeks warm with embarrassment. “I-I didn’t know I was getting my period today,” Y/n said, avoiding making eye contact with Leah.
“It’s alright, stuff like that happens all the time, especially here,” Leah said, putting her arm around the young girl’s shoulder and leading her to the changing room. “We are a team of what? 30 women, we just learn to work around periods, and cramps and all that, that’s why we have a gynaecologist.”
Y/n remained silent, looking at the floor and wishing a double-decker bus would kill her right now.
They got into the locker room, half the girls were still in there.
Yeah, I’m definitely throwing myself in front of the first car that drives by, there is no way that this is my first day and I’m already making a fool of myself. Y/n thought as she sat in front of Leah's locker after grabbing her jacket and tying it around her waist. The others didn’t need to see the mess in her training shorts too.
The captain was very calm, whistling Sweet Carolina as she opened a toiletry bag. It looked like she was very used to these types of situations. Y/n wondered if Leah had gone through this t with any of the other girls on the team before.
“What size do you usually use?” Leah asked bluntly, clearly not trying to be subtle about it. Yeah, maybe she was a bit too comfortable with this topic. “I only have like, super plus,” Leah said, showing you a lilac packed with tampons in it.
“Hm, I normally just have regulars or smalls,” Y/n said hesitantly. “But these are ok, thank you.” They were not ok, Y/n looked at the tampons and knew they wouldn't fit comfortably.
Y/n was never a tampon girl, she always thought pads were more comfortable, she only used tampons on match days or during hard training sessions.
Y/n reached out d to take the pack of tampons from Leah’s hand, but before she could do that Leah shouted to the other side of the changing room. “Hey, Kyra, Less, have either of you got smaller tampons? Y/n needs some.”
“No! It’s alright, please, I don’t want to be a both–”
“I’ve got some,” Less said, smiling af if she was very happy to help. “Here Y/n, these are regulars, but I also have a small one too if you need it.” The blonde handed Y/n a blue box, which the young girl took.
“Thank you, you both,” Y/n said sincerely.
“Is that why you were a bit sad during the cool-down?” Less asked
“Hm, yeah, I just was - well, I am a bit embarrassed and all that, I know periods are normal and blah blah blah, but I’m just a little uncomfortable about it.” You confess, looking at Leah and Less.
“Periods are hard to talk about because people think we should be ashamed,,” Beth said Y/n hadn’t even noticed the lioness was in the changing room. “You're gonna get used to it, you are just a teen, when you grow old you’ll just realize it’s a part of you.”
Y/n smiled, feeling more at ease. Maybe she wouldn't throw herself into traffic after all” :)
“This conversation reminds me of when I got my first period, I was so embarrassed,” Leah said, holding the bridge of her nose. “I was 14 training on the pitch with the Arsenal youth team when the head coach blew the whistle and asked very loudly if I had gotten hurt because there was blood running down my leg.”
“I just put the ball down and ran to the locker room,” Leah said laughing. “Then Maureen, the assistant coach, came down to talk to me and handed me these big pads and asked me if It was my first period.”
“Oh my first period was during the Matildas Under 15 tournament,” Kyra said. “I had just turned 14, but my mum made me carry a bag of tampons and stuff like that everywhere, so the first time it happened I just went to the toilet and told my friends about it.
Then every girl shared some funny, and not so funny period story, which made Y/n feel calmer.
Y/n would get along with the Gunners; she knew it.

Barkhammer 40k Part 2
Part 1 - for Primarchs 1 - 11
Just letting you all know the 40k is the yearly cost caring for his 18 dogs.
oopies got a bit more descriptive in this one...
Anyway back to the doggies
12 - Angron - Newfoundland
a sweet tempered, gentle and extremely well trained lil guy, now.
he was a rescue from a very abusive home and for the first year of 2 he was very guarded and aggressive but with time he has settled.
He is the biggest defender and guardian for his dog brothers and big E.
13 - Roboute Guilliman - corgi
a true lap dog through and through he loves being pampered and relaxing. Food stealer, specifically of cheese and cold cuts.
tidies his toys up once he is done. Don't get in his way he has a system.
Struggles to jump onto the couch and is helped by the others. Has regular visits with his parents and old litter, goes in fancy dress.
14 - Mortarion - ibizan hound
Morty was a v poorly pooch when he was little, but he pulled through despite the odds, lives with some lingering symptoms now and can't always keep up with his brothers.
because of that wasn't well socialised and so is quite a loner and territorial but will spend time and play after a while.
Loves attention but doesn't know how to ask, will stare at you and nudge a toy or his paw then glare. very funny but once you pick up on it he is all over you. (you're his friend now).
15 - Magnus the Red - Irish setter (he is very photogenic)
Look at this distinguished smart gent. Red, friendly and beautiful - maggy is a very placid dog
extremely smart watches the tv intently and when he was a puppy the only way to get him to sleep without him crying the second you left was by reading to him.
Likes to wrap himself around pert and keep him safe. Russ really likes play fighting with him but he gets a swift paw shove away.
16 - Horus Lupercal - Leonberger
Big E's favourite... he says he doesn't have a fave but its a bit obvious when he is allowed to on top of you and act like he is small dog.
a prize winning show dog that everyone loves he has won best in show at crufts he is just that charming and loveable.
He loves kids and babies, if it was up to him though, he would just want to run around with his brothers, but he will never say no to the treats and attention...
17 - Lorgar Aurelian - Bedlington Terrier
strange looking thing but easily wins people over with how cute and cuddly he is.
Has gotten lost in a flock of sheep with lambs before , also on a few occasions has walked off with other people because he wanted to play.
Very vocal dog but in the will answer back to you way if you ask if he wants a treat you get a lil woof in response.
18 - Vulkan - Great Dane
will find sunspots or anywhere warm and bask
very very gentle
loves everyone gets sad when other humans, dogs and animals don't like him back but he is persistent and ends up making friends everywhere he goes
19 - Corvus Corax - border collie
shy little guy with the cutest smile ever
hides in the house sometimes - this has caused many a panic when Big E thinks he has escaped or ran away only to have the top of his head tickled by the end of his tail (how the fuck did he get into the LOFT?!
very crafty, opens up with time but needs his space. (you feel like the dog whisperer the first time he comes over to you without you begging him or bribing him with food).
20 - Alpharius Omegon - indistinguishable legion of crusty white dogs
They just started appearing one day, some say big e just leaves the back door unlocked to let them in.
Others say they were the first dogs he got. No one truly knows , the dog never looks the same.
Even the other dogs are tilt their heads at the crusty ones, especially when they look like a smaller version of them...

In 1900 'The Irish Guards was formed on 1 April 1900 by Queen Victoria in recognition of the many acts of courage and bravery performed by Irish regiments during the Second Boer War. Since then, the regiment has continued to prove its mettle in numerous major conflicts'.
'Holder of the regimental serial number 1 was Colour Sergeant Conroy who was transferred from The Royal Munster Fusiliers. The Irish Guards' first Commanding Officer was Irishman Field Marshal Lord Roberts. The Regiment received its first colours from His Majesty King Edward VII at a parade held on Horse Guards Parade, London in May 1902. From that year, the Irish Guards adopted as its official mascot a pedigree Irish Wolfhound, and one of that breed has taken part in its formal parades ever since, wearing a specially embroidered coat of livery'.
'The history of the Irish Guards as a regiment of foot guards in the British army only dates from 1900 after its creation was ordered by HM Queen Victoria following suggestions from Lord Wolesley and an Irish MP. Wolesley had recommended that Irish regiments of the British army should be allowed to wear the shamrock in their headress on 17th March (St.Patrick's Day) each year as a mark of the Crown's appreciation of their gallantry during the Boer War, specifically, at the relief of Ladysmith. That suggestion was followed by an Irish MP who tabled a motion in the House of Commons that, as there were already regiments of Scots, Welch and English Guards, a regiment of Irish Foot Guards should also be created. Subsequently the Irish Guards were formed on 1st April 1900 by Order of HM Queen Victoria, although in truth they were just a battalion of foot guards and not a regiment; it took a further 15 years before the Irish Guards truly became a regiment with the forming of its second and reserve battalions'.

Edward, Viscount (later Earl) Ligonier
Artist: Thomas Gainsborough (British, 1727-1788)
Date: 1770
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, San Marino, CA, United States
Artwork Description
In this full-length portrait, Lord Ligonier is shown next to his horse. In his right hand, which rests on the horse's saddle, the sitter holds a black and gold-laced hat, while his left hand is on his sword hilt.
Biography
Edward Ligonier, a soldier, was born in 1740, the only son of Anne (Murray) Freeman, a widow, and Francis Augustus Ligonier (1693-1746), a French Protestant refugee who came to England in 1710 and rose to the rank of colonel in the 13th Dragoons and 59th Foot (infantry). Following his father's death from a battle wound in 1746, Edward was raised by his uncle, John Ligonier (1680-1770), who was promoted that year to the full rank of general and made commander-in-chief in Great Britain. Like his father and uncle, Edward Ligonier pursued a career in the army. In 1752, aged twelve, he entered the 2nd Dragoon Guards (Queen's Bays) as a cornet, and from 1757 he served as lieutenant in the 7th Dragoons. He was aide-de-camp to Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick in the Seven Years' War, and on August 15, 1759 was promoted to captain of the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards. Appointed aide-de-camp to George III in 1763, he traveled to Madrid as secretary to Lord Rochford's special embassy (1763-65).
On December 16, 1766 Ligonier married Penelope Pitt, eldest daughter of George Pitt and his wife Penelope Atkins, at the British Embassy in Paris. On his uncle's death, April 27, 1770, he succeeded to the title of 2nd Viscount Ligonier of Clonmell in the Irish Peerage (becoming Earl Ligonier in 1776). On May 7, 1771 he fought a duel with swords in Green Park with the Italian poet Vittorio Amadeo, Count Alfieri (1749-1803), whom he suspected of adultery with his wife. He sued for divorce and the marriage was legally dissolved in 1772. Gazetted colonel of the 9th Regiment of Foot on August 8, 1771, he eventually rose to the rank of lieutenant general on August 29, 1777. On December 14, 1773 he married Mary Henley (d. 1814), third daughter of Jane (Huband) and Robert, 1st Earl of Northington. This marriage, like his first, was without issue, and when Lord Ligonier died at the age of forty-two on June 14, 1782 his title became extinct. He had devoted the last years of his life to lobbying for the "red ribbon" of Knight of the Bath, an honor that he finally gained on December 17, 1781, but he died before installation.

The Evil Eye in Irish Folklore
In pre-modern Ireland, like in many other cultures, the power of the gaze held immense significance. Practices and customs associated with the evil eye were passed down through generations, and many were collected in The School's Collection in the 1930s.
The School's Collection has proven to be an indispensable asset in my exploration of Irish paganism. However, it can be quite a task to read, classify, and integrate all the materials on any given topic. The following are my notes from what I've encountered searching the records, but I hope they'll prove useful to others.
What is the evil eye in the Irish folk tradition?
In Irish folk traditions, the evil eye was believed to possess an otherworldly power, capable of causing illness, misfortune, and even death.
It was believed that those who possessed the evil eye could knowingly or unknowingly project this baneful magic onto others simply through their gaze. The evil eye could affect many aspects of life including people, livestock, and crops.
This ability is often referred to as "overlooking" or "blinking" in the Duchas records and the terms can be used interchangeably.
In this locality, long ago, it was a common belief, that if people met with any reverses, or suffered any loss of property, the misfortune was due to "the evil-eye," meaning that some person supposed to have an evil eye "overlooked" their property, and that was considered the reason for the particular piece of ill-luck. If a person with an "evil-eye" took particular notice of any animal, for example, the animal would either do himself an injury or pine away gradually. Usually, the possessors of the "evil eye" were not aware that they had such a particular kind of eye, or were connected with other people's misfortunes. Duchas.ie
What causes the evil eye?
There are numerous things that could cause someone to be born with the evil eye (people are generally considered to be born with it rather than acquiring it later in life). Some of the reasons recorded are:
Having the surname Marrinan 1, 2, 3 or Kingfisher 4.
Being born on Whit Sunday (the seventh Sunday after Easter) 5, 6 or on June 29th 7
Babies returning to breastfeeding after being weaned 8, 9
Babies seeing their baptismal towel before it was washed 10
Your Godparents omitting a word during your baptism 11
Prevention of the evil eye
To protect themselves from the ill effects of being overlooked, people developed customs and rituals, the most popular of which included:
Waiting to light their fires on May Day so that the evil eye did not take their luck and profit for the coming year 12
Placing St. Brigid's crosses around the home (and outhouses) 13, 14
Nailing a donkey's shoe to the threshold of the home (this also helped to guard against the Good Neighbors) 15
For animals, placing a Gauldoron Garragh knot on their back would provide protection 16
Using red items (usually cloth) to distract the evil eye 17, 18, 19, 20, 21
Asking God to bless the person or thing being talked about after you suspect an overlooker (a common term for those who possess the evil eye) has spoken about them 22, 23, 24, 25
Jumping through the flames at midsummer 5
Cures for the evil eye
If all your preventative measures failed, there were several cures that could be tried.
For a baby born on Whit Sunday or another unlucky day, the cure was to place green sod over them three times 4, 6, 8
A cure commonly used with animals thought to have been overlooked was to write the overlooker's name (if known) or the entire alphabet (if the overlooker's name is unknown) onto a piece of paper or other burnable material and burn it under the animal's nose so that it inhales the smoke 26, 27, 28, 29, 30
A piece of thatch from the overlooker's house, or even a piece of their clothing can also be burned under an animal or person's nose (or burned and then the ashes put into a drink) to cure the evil eye 27, 28, 29
Water from a place where three townslands meet can cure when sprinkled on the overlooked animal or person, but the person who gets the water must not speak to anyone on their way there and back 30
Forge water can also be used in the same way 31
While the belief in the evil eye has faded over time, the echoes of these traditions can still be felt in Irish culture today. These records serve as a reminder of the deep-rooted folklore and superstitions that once shaped the lives of the Irish people and can help inform our Irish pagan practices today.

i have to ask, do you have any kevin hcs from his childhood in ireland?
yes :) yes I do :) depending on how long he grew up there some of these might be irrelevant but here’s some baby kev in Ireland (these are kind of stupid but regardless here they are)
- While Kayleigh had him playing no-contact kid safe Exy, he also played hurling. It’s an Irish team sport that is played using a stick and a small hard ball and a lot of Irish kids play it. It’s a pretty big sport in Ireland, it’s really fast paced, and the only protection players wear is a helmet with a grate/face guard thing. You can “check” other player with your shoulder so long as the other person has the ball and you have one foot on the ground and tbh if you read the rules it wouldn’t surprise me if it inspired Kayleigh to invent Exy in some manner
- he went to a gaelscoil (Irish speaking school) for his first two years or so in school. This means they only speak in Irish and learn all of their subjects through Irish. Because of this Kevin can count and knows colours in Irish but doesn’t really know a whole lot else
- Kevin is naturally unbothered by cold weather because he spent those early years of his life in Ireland. He’ll wear shorts when the sun is barely peeking out of the sky and it’s only like 15 degrees Celsius outside because that’s just what Irish people do. We savour the sun in the tiny bits we see of it.
- Irish people love famous Irish people, so I bet Kayleigh would’ve been on local TV quite a lot. There’s a couple of interviews and videos of Kevin as a tiny Kevin playing baby Exy out there that he keeps hidden from the foxes. NOBODY knows they exist. Also as a tween he probably did some more interviews from the US for Irish TV. If somebody found them he would die on the spot.
- Kayleigh lived in Dublin before she had Kevin, and her family were from much more rural areas on the other side of the country, so Kevin doesn’t remember meeting her family at all. He would’ve met his grandparents a handful of times, but because he was so young, he doesn’t remember it. They were fluent Irish speakers, though, so Kayleigh always spoke in Irish around her family.
- Kayleigh’s funeral was in Ireland, and that was the first time Kevin had been back in Ireland since they moved to the US full time. It was really overwhelming for him, because so many memories kept coming back to him, memories he’d forgotten because he’d been so young.
- his grandparents call him by his Irish name, not Kevin. He doesn’t like it, but it’s their native language so he just accepts it. If any one of the foxes thought of calling him Caoimhín he’d kill them.
- (Kayleigh’s family make fun of his American accent. Irish people love making fun of Americans)
Kevin doesn’t remember a lot about living in Ireland but what he does remember is a lot of fond memories of his mom, and if he wants to feel close to her, he reminisces on it a lot. He has as many old interviews of her as he could possibly find, videos of her in university, and as much as it pains him to watch his mother beside Tetsuji as business partners, he watches those too. One interview is his favourite, one that Kayleigh did for the Irish language news, and it’s an interview where she’s talking about Exy as gaeilge/in Irish. She doesn’t falter, or trip over her words, or have to think at all about what she’s saying. It’s her first language, and she falls into it so easily. It makes him sad to think of how different his life would be if they’d stayed, but he would never go back in time and ask her to. She achieved her dream, she represented Ireland at their first Olympics, and the USA once she’d gotten her citizenship. He would do anything to have her back, but he wouldn’t change that.
#Ireland makes Kevin think of home even though it wasn’t his home for very long#idk this is silly but#I’m claiming him#the only valid Irish-American#kevin day#I’m currently reading a news article about a referee who is currently in hospital because he broke a bunch of bones in his face#because he got hit in the face by a sliotar#and like….thats NEWS here

Hey Pinky I am back with my Lynel Farm something that came to my mind because of irish!Reader but it has more with the mythology that kicked my brain. I am ancient compared to most people for the category of Anime. I watched Beyblade Metal Fusion as a kid but it's not about that even if it would be funny. But I write about another childhood series I saw, Inuyasha. As I don't know if you know this Anime I make a little headcanon. This is Inuyasha!Reader.
They lived in the feudal lands of Japan.
Reader may look young, like 15 to 17, but they are actually over 200 years old.
They are a Hanyou, which means they are half human and half Youkai, a half-demon.
Even though their mother had a title that is the same rank of a princess, they were treated horribly with only their mother as support.
But demons didn't accept them either as they were still part human.
Their father was a dog demon, a strong one at that, with the title of the Lord of the Western Lands.
And his blood is strong which is why Reader has white silvery hair with golden yellow eyes.
Except it's a new moon, in this phase of the night they lose all their abilities they have as a Hanyou, don't worry I will list them later.
At the new moon they have the hair colour of Reader with their eye colour as it's their human part and they hate the new moon as it also makes them vulnerable.
They wear the Robe of the Fire-Rat, it's from their father, with a white hadagi undershirt. And with this they are fireproof. They can walk through a forest fire and come out alive and without a scratch. And they always go around barefoot.
Their abilities are enhanced jumps, they can jump from a one story house up to the roof of a four story high house. They have superhuman strength like Reader punches through solid steel. Superhuman speed, they can outrun a horse without problems and as their stamina is inhuman as well. They can run through the whole day and still make it through the complete nightshift. Their agility and reflexes are nothing to brush off either, they can catch and destroy arrows mid air even if they stand with their back to their opponent or opponents. Their durability and accelerated healing will shock the Chain, especially Hyrule. They can get impaled through their stomach and survive it while fighting! And within a day the wound is gone without leaving a single scar.
As a dog demon they have enhanced senses of smell and hearing. They can smell the hints of blood from kilometres away and can hear what people were whispering from a great distance away. They also have dog ears which are very fluffy like the ones from an Akita Inu.
Their fighting style is unorthodox to say at least as they are extremely stubborn and refuse to back down, even when their life is in danger. As they won't back down and fight with their claws if their sword isn't available or they don't want to use it and they can solidify their own blood and make it into flying blades.
Now to their sword. It's called Tessaiga which is the sword that can "kill a hundred demons in a single stroke" and it looks like a Katana that's about to break until they draw it to protect someone, who is dear to them. Then it looks like an overgrown dog fang and its cross guard has a large patch of fur also similar to the one of a dog. But it only changes into this form by Reader's hand only.
But their demon blood is also their weakness. You see Tessaiga is practically suppressing and sealing Reader's demon half away to a certain content. When they are in life danger and don't have Tessaiga with them they can become a full-fledged demon and attack every living being they deemed as a threat.
They also have an older half-brother and they hate each other. A deceased wife and a daughter which is a quarter part demon.
Now to the group. They will be so suspicious of each other. Reader is half demon but not with Ganon, they don't even know who that is and they don't understand one word from each other. Reader will be confused with them as in their home people with pointed ears are normally demons but the Chain don't look, smell or fight like one.
But after they learned the language I think they will tolerate each other but begin to trust after a while. Well except for Wind he loved to be carried by them as they are fast and jump far away. Four screams at them because of Tessaiga's broken form until they show him the real one. Then he is all over them and their sword as it's made out of the fang tooth of their father and its attacks are very destructive. They also can fight through an army of monsters and even without breaking a sweat and without injuries on them.
But also can find traces far easier than Twilight as they have a more sensible nose than him. But they can't stand him, they have bad experience with wolves, one tried to court and kidnapped their late wife. So they often say to him "Wolf-Cub", it was an insult for the wolf demon back then.
But Reader and Legend will have so many fights as Reader is pretty hotheaded and got betrayed the worst possible way. Their first love pinned them with a seal and an arrow onto a tree. They were hated by humans and demons alike so they are harsh. Hyrule still wants to heal them after they encounter a tough opponent even if Reader can lift a Lynel and can bite through the neck of a Gleeok. Time will be impressed as he is not half as nimble as they are. Yes, Wild is technically 117 years old but he slept 100 years but Reader was only sealed away for 50 years until they were back kicking and screaming so they have his respect.
Sky will be the most suspicious one at first as they are a half demon after all. But he will notice that they are really protective over the people they care for and see as their friends and family. And as he asked about their life, after they trust the group. They talk about their daughter, their late wife, the adventures they went through, their deceased friends, their half-brother, how they met their wife and so on and Sky as the true romantic he is will ask more about the missus. Wars tries to get them to stop being so reckless even if they eliminate 100 monsters alone he can't allow that. Wild will ask about recipes from their homeland and they have some, which their mother shared with them when they got sick, which is a very rare occasion.
But they definitely disappear when it's the new moon until dawn so they don't see their human form. It's stuck with them since they were a child, to hide when its new moon as they are vulnerable at this time and feel pain. Or have their abilities anymore but if one of them saw that they will threaten the Link with his life.
I've got no notes. XD
I think you've covered most, if not, all of the bases. I know what anime you're talking about but I've never seen it. I have the faintest suspicion that this is more or less the timeline/backstory of the dog man half demon from the show. XD
Actually, I lied. One note.
I don't know if Twilight would register "Wolf-Cub" being an insult or not. He'd probably think it was just a nickname and that Reader just straight couldn't care less about him. Kinda like "Yes, I am a wolf. Thank you for noticing. Why say it like that?"
Unless he starts to think that it's actually a term of endearment because Reader is a dog demon and also calling him pup/cub from time to time like Time does (in fics- I forgot if that's canon or not.)
With all of this in mind, I think that it would lead to a funny one-sided hate/tolerate relationship where Twilight just doesn't register Reader hating his guts for literally no reason. XD
