Thoughts on Phoenix x Iris?

I like it for what it is in the story! It's obviously not my main, but I think it's a really interesting facet to Phoenix and his tendencies to go headfirst into who he will go to bat for, whether it's romantic/platonic/familial, etc. Namely, that he believes hard, and when he falls, he falls HARD! They're kind of like a bittersweet first relationship for me. For all intents and purposes, they were a sweet couple in love-- they were sappy dorks who gave each other gifts (the sweater, what Phoenix believed the necklace to be, and so on), They had adorable nicknames for each other, they were THAT sappy adorable couple that you see on campus that you gag at, but they're really harmless, so you just let them do their thing. I think the tragedy with them was that for a time, despite Iris pretending to be her sister, and the reason for dating Phoenix was to keep him from getting straight up murdered to get evidence for ANOTHER attempted murder off of him, it was real. They were a real couple that loved and cared for each other, and it wasn't all a big lie. I can see them trying again, or attempting to, after 3-5 just to get closure (especially for Iris getting another go with her real name), but I think Dahlia was just too big of a presence for both of them-- they couldn't quite get rid of her shadow. Every time Iris sees Phoenix, she just sees that blissfully unaware dork who called her Dollie, and every time Phoenix sees her, he can only see Dahlia. I like to think that they remain friendly, but definitely less close than before after that. One thing I love about Iris is that she's also a little unhinged, one of my favorite parts of 3-5 is where she admits that she would have done ANYTHING to protect Phoenix, implying that she would not be afraid to take Dahlia's life if it got to that point. I think it really hammers in the point that despite being the "good" twin, they really are sisters from the same cloth. Thank you for the ask, it was a very pleasant surprise!! :D

Apollo: (Let's Out a Very Relaxed Sounding Sigh as He is Seen Walking with his Peers) At long last. We finally made it to a brand new year.

Klavier: (Flips the Side of his Hair Forward with a Laid Back Smile on his Face) I couldn't have said it any better, Herr Forehead. There's so much to look forward to this day of age: new beginnings, new faces to meet, new life changing opportunities-

Ema: And a new set of problems dying to wring their heads at us eventually.

Klavier: (Turns to his Girlfriend Behind Him) Not too excited about this one already, are we Fraülen?

Ema: (Shrugs) Eh. I'm more netural about it if anything. The world can be a cruel mistress if you're not too careful.

Klavier: That is true.

Apollo's eyes slowly starts to widen up in Horror as him and co bear witness at his boss, Phoenix Wright, yelling and arguing with his old assistant, Maya Fey, her younger cousin, Pearl Fey, and Apollo's girlfriend and little sister, Athena Cykes and Trucy Wright, from two seperate sides of the room.

Phoenix: How many times do I have to get this through you girls!? STEP LADDERS ARE JUST LADDERS!!

Maya: And how many times do WE have to tell YOU is that STEP LADDERS ARE THEIR OWN THING!!!

Phoenix: LADDERS!

Apollo: (Slowly Facepalms Himself in Pure Agony) Oh my god....Of all the times they could've done this, why does it have to be now?...

Wocky: (Eyes Widened in Disbelief) The same judge in our city? That's insane....

Klavier: I don't believe the countless debates I've encounter in my family were ever nearly as intense as this...(Notices Something in that Said Debate in Front of Him) It doesn't seem like they noticed us at the moment.

Ema: No suprise there. This might be their heated one yet if that's the case.

Apollo: (Quickly Brings his Friend Group into a Group Huddle Before Whispering to All of Them) Okay, look, I know they're our love ones and everything, but there's no point of getting ourselves involve in this. They clearly settling it themselves, so let's just let 'em be and get the hell up outta here.

Wocky: (Starts Whispering as Well) All in favor of going to my place for the rest of the day, say "Aye".

The Gang: (Raises Their Hand Up Little and Whispers Out....) Aye!

Apollo: Then, it's settled. Let's roll.

Apollo silently tells his three friends to keep quiet as he slowly reaches his hand towards the office door's knob.

The gang gets startled by the booming voice as they turn their attention to their appointed love ones pouting and glaring at them from the mid distance.

Phoenix: And where do you think YOU FOUR are going right now?

Ladies: YEAH!

Apollo: (Looks Down and Curses Under his Breath as He Snaps his Fingers) Shit. Uhh...(Clears his Throat Before Smiling Awkwardly at his Founded Family) H-Hey, you guys! Happy New Years! (Chuckles Awkwardly) We came here to say hi, but we'd figured you all are busy at the moment, so-

Athena: (Smiles Brightly) In fact, you all are just in time for the nearby climax!~

Phoenix: (Unfazed by the Ladies' Taunts) Charming. (Turns Back to Apollo and Co.) Anywho, rather than joining alongside those immature children over there to be right-

Ladies: (Immediately Pouts Offensively at Phoenix) Heyyyy!!!

Maya: (Comically Glares at Phoenix) I'm in my thirties, you jackass!!

Phoenix: (Puts on a Confident Smile on his Face) Come to my side and I'll provide you anything you want and need afterwards.

Apollo: (Raises an Eyebrow at his Own Boss) Really, sir? You're bribing us no- WHGH? (Suddenly Got his Face Covered by Ema's Palm)

Gumshoe: (Happily Shakes Apollo Hand) D'aww thanks, pal, and worry about it! We've been doing this a lot longer before you and Ema came to the picture. I'm used to it at this point.

Phoenix: (Smiles Brightly at his Old Friend) There's the duo of the honor! And here I thought you two were never gonna make it.

Edgeworth: ('Hmph') (Puts on a Competitive, Smug Smirk on his Face as He Walks Over to Phoenix's Team) And miss another opportunity to debunk any sort of halo statements and counterarugments our opponents are naive enough to obtain on a brand new year? I'd foolish enough not to participate.

Both Phoenix and Edgeworth casually giving themselves a high five.

Maya: (Glares at the Latest Member of the Ladder Team) For your informati-on, Miles Edgeworth,we have plenty of factual statements and rebuttal than you hope to realize. Apollo: (Grabs his Chin While Thinking) (Girlfriend, huh? Now that he mentioned, I do remember all the Mr. Wright would announce that he was going to the detention center to see a certain someone a few years back.....Was she the person he was visiting this who time?)

Apollo: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Shock) Get out. Are you serious?

Iris: (Giggles Some More) It's the truth!~ (Places her Hands onto Both of her Now Blushing Cheeks While Smiling Very Fondly at the Memories Her and Phoenix Shared in the Past) It's the very nickname I gave to him on the very first day we started date in our college years~ To this day, he would always light up like a Christmas Tree whenever I call him that. Gumshoe: Pollo and I been watching them on the sidelines thankfully. Doubt they're gonna stop anytime soon.

Iris: I figured as much. (Smiles Softly at the Two Men in Front of Her) In the meantime, how about I tell you the history Feenie and I shared together. It's been quite a while since I've told it to anyone thrse days, so please try and bear with me for the time being.

Gumshoe: (Turns to Apollo with a Bright Smile on his Face) Yo, you gotta give this one a listen, pal. It's sad, but really sweet at the same time.

Apollo: (Simply Shrugs) Hey, if it helps keeping from us from ever participating in that disaster of a debate, then you can count me in. (Smiles Softly to Iris) I hope it won't be too much trouble for you, Sister Iris.

Iris: No need to worry about me at all, dear. I'll do my very best. We do have the whole evening to ourselves, after all. So let's savor it while we can.

going back to last night's aa3 thoughts, it's baffling to me that that game isnt more controversial in the fandom. aa fandom's rampant refusal to play the games aside, i feel like aa3 is in the upper echelon along with aa1 and aa4 in popular perception and like! that's weird! yeah it's been around for the better part of 2 decades so it's just indisputably In the popular conscience in a way that aa5 and aa6 aren't (not that aa5+6 dont fuck up their rep well enough for themselves) but like. the abrupt shift to romance is weirddd godot is a weirdddd prosecutor hell the fucking LOCALISATION is weirdddd!! fuckin 'amateur bimbo' 'my hemorrhoids are doing the harlem shake' game! why dont people spotlight how weird this game is!!! i like this game but it is weird!!

Ace Attorney: IF (... Harem Edition)

Gonna make this one short and sweet. Apologies to those that don't like harems; this is just my creative decision as writer. No NTR in my house. (人◕ω◕)

As usual, I entertain 3-4 girls for the guy. That's become my average for harems. This first post is about Phoenix; I'll make a separate one for Apollo later. Those will be the only guys with harems, at least at this time. To be fair, I don't have ships for Edgeworth. He's just a cool character for me. XD

Iris

Though a lot changed in this AU, I've kept the Phoenix-Iris relationship intact. They still went through the canon motions of Iris posing as Dahlia, and though I haven't touched on their reunion yet... You can rest easy they do eventually. (人◕ω◕)

I won't get into the full details, but after meeting again Iris agrees to leave Hazakura Temple with Sister Bikini's blessing. Iris gets a job as a nurse, and over the next seven years she rekindles her relationship with Feenie. She only has to get over her guilt of deceiving him when they first met; in this AU she never became an accomplice during a Hazakura incident. Phoenix is pretty busy as a prosecutor, but it's not his whole life. Making room for Iris again is very doable~...

Their attraction to one another is pretty strong. Outside any physical attraction, Iris enjoys that Phoenix can still be a goofball but he's evened out a lot and become very mature; Phoenix is still quite smitten with her reserved and kind nature. He sympathizes with her family tragedies, and is more than happy to be there for her. Though she does connect with her cousin Mia as well, and gradually makes friends over the next seven years. Iris works at the Dye-Young Hospital, so Phoenix is on pretty familiar terms with Nurse Karen Jensen, who becomes one of Iris's best friends, and her grandmother Bonnie Young.

After seven years they decide to go for marriage. Iris wanted to wait that long to make sure their relationship was genuine, and not just something they returned to out of pure sentiment. Admittedly, she does have to put up with sharing Feenie... and that also takes getting used to... (人◕ω◕);;; She often butts heads with Franziska because of the whole whipping shtick. Iris can be surprisingly bold when it comes to caring for others... Not that Franziska stands for all the insubordination, but she knows Iris is a "favorite" of Phoenix Wright... so there's not much she can do. (人◕ω◕);;;

2. Franziska

Franziska got acquainted with Phoenix around the Dahlia trials. She wasn't that fond of him at first, he was a foolishly foolish fool of a college student. (人◕ω◕) ... But Phoenix got interested in her as a friend, especially when Franny "allowed" him to be declared innocent and threw the book at Dahlia. Sure, his idealistic mindset clashed with Franziska's perfectionism. But he threw himself into studying law to become a prosecutor that pursued the truth regardless of the accused's innocence or guilt.

... (人◕ω◕);;; Again, not something Franziska was thrilled about that he kept reaching out... But eventually she folded and helped him become a proper man of law (and not just a bluffing fool). Due to her father being the Chief Prosecutor, she couldn't be too close with him, but Phoenix did rub off on her over the years. To the point that she didn't fully agree with her father's idea of perfection even before he was fully exposed as a criminal.

After returning to Germany for a bit to collect herself (after her father was imprisoned), Franziska came back to find out what sort of prosecutor she wants to be. She and Phoenix were still somewhat distant for that year as Franziska clashed with Mia and the Edgeworth lawyers in court for several cases... And then they grew closer again through the Matt Engarde/De Killer trial as Phoenix took the reins on that one. Franziska already knew she wanted to be a different prosecutor from her father, but around this time she stopped caring about any win records.

She and Phoenix worked together on a few cases over the next year, Phoenix's rep growing. Eventually they ran into Shi-Long Lang, and all the drama that goes along with that. Franziska decided to work with Interpol as a prosecutor around that time, which meant that she would be away from Japan a lot... But with Phoenix, she always had a reason to come back home. (人◕ω◕) Because yeah, their friendship blossomed into love over the next seven years. They helped each other grow as people, and Phoenix helped smooth out any tension she had with Miles over his "betrayal" of becoming a defense attorney. You know Franziska by now, she's not the kind to be open with her feelings. Not in public. (人◕ω◕) She somewhat envies Iris for that, but you didn't hear that from me.

With Iris and Phoenix talking about marriage, Franziska hopped in on that. Taking a break from her globetrotting to secure her spot as a Mrs. Wright. ... Though she still goes by "Von Karma" while with Interpol. She won't let that name die, and she won't lose to Iris. (人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)

3. Calisto

Calisto... This is perhaps the most interesting one. The gist is that she was caught and arrested for attempting to murder Byrne and Mack Rell, and got rehabilitated through working as a detective under Tyrell. Eventually she got assigned to Phoenix as a partner, and she usurped Franziska's role in molding him into a worthy prosecutor. Their dynamic has always been unique, if not distant on the surface.

Yet Phoenix became a friend of sorts that Calisto didn't wish to lose. Wouldn't let him get convicted of murder, and ensured criminal elements didn't lay a finger on him. The protectiveness went both ways, and despite her past Phoenix placed his trust in her. She also got some merriment out of messing with him. (人◕ω◕)

They've been working together for a decade by now. Their relationship has never been "romantic" in the traditional sense, but in some ways they do operate like a married couple. So when Franziska and Iris came into the scene, Calisto wasted no time in sinking her claws somewhat. Mostly to mess with them, but also Calisto had no plans to get in a relationship with anyone else. She had no interest in such things... Phoenix was probably the closest she'd ever get to such attachments. (人◕ω◕)

Calisto had no issue becoming a Mrs. Wright, even though Franziska and Iris balked at her shamelessness. She doesn't remember her real name, so "Calisto Wright" will do good enough. And really, Calisto strikes a middle ground between caring Iris and whip-happy Franziska. Outside of her giggling fits, she's a pretty serious woman that won't put up with foolishness while on the clock. She's not very intimate with Phoenix...at first... But married life has a way of changing that. (人◕ω◕)
