I'm not into the comics, so I don't know about Amber and Eve's relationship. But in the show I enjoy how Amber is a catalyst for Eve's new approach to heroism. Additionally, I like how Amber checks up on Eve throughout everything. Partly without Amber, Eve wouldn't be having such an interesting character arc. Amber taught Eve that she doesn't have to use her powers to protect people, but Eve is struggling to learn how to be a 'hero' without using the one thing she fought to protect, her powers. It's really interesting, and I hope she and Amber continue to grow together

Amber is one of the most hated characters in the Invincible fandom with many people thinking that Mark can do better yet I believe both her character and her relationship with Mark is greatly misunderstood.

Honestly, though I have some issues with how the show handles their relationship, I really do like Mark and Amber together?? Like they got to know each other’s interests (seemingly) before they started dating, they have a similar desire to help people but with differing personalities (Amber’s more direct and outspoken while Mark tends to be more avoidant and soft spoken) that can help balance each other out (and it does!! Amber IS willing to give Mark second chances and Amber inspires Mark to try and take direct action to help those who need it in the city!!).
Yeah, they’re having problems with miscommunication, but I’m seeing people either condemning Amber as a selfish bitch (she’s not selfish for wanting her boyfriend to talk to her?? For wanting to be treated as someone who matters to him?? She’s allowed to want to communicate with him instead of him lying to her??) or Mark as, apparently, as bad as his dad (which - Nolan called Debbie a ‘pet’ and hid the fact he was planning on colonizing and enslaving her planet from her. The lies Mark told were bad, yeah, but are nowhere close to the same level. Istg fandom really can’t have any sympathy for two teenagers of color huh). But like, they both made mistakes, and they’re both trying to make up for it!
Mark definitely should have been more honest with Amber about why he had to keep flaking off things (not even telling her his identity - like maybe just saying something like “I have this thing that I really can’t get away from, and it keeps me really busy, so I will probably have to cancel things at times. I’ll do my best to balance everything, but I’m still figuring stuff out. I’d rather not specify what it is right now, because it’s pretty sensitive for my family, but I’m just letting you know the reason I won’t be able to make things or might not have much time.”) And Amber definitely came off as kind of rude when she yelled at Mark for leaving them despite knowing he was Invincible (which, she really didn’t have to tbh. The scene would’ve been just fine if Mark had told her and she had the same angry reaction), and I can see why people didn’t like it when, even when Mark explained things, she was still mad - but honestly, she’s entitled to be. She probably could have been more understanding about all the weight on Mark’s shoulders, but she has a right to be angry about being lied and stood up for so long, just like Mark has a right to keep his own secrets.
Mark was more at fault, but they both made mistakes - ones that I think they’re definitely going to learn from. Now that Mark and Amber don’t have that ‘secret identity’ wall between them, a huge part of what led to these issues with communication is gone, so they can start working with each other to do that better.
I don’t think they should have gotten together so soon after Episode 8 (after everything Mark went through in that episode... jfc, he needs therapy, not a relationship), but I really want them to be endgame. I think Eve is kind of bland, boring, and predictable, and while I get why people ship them, I think Mark and Amber better compliment each other and can help each other grow.

The Master List (hi)
Master List:
Hi, i’m ace. I got really bored and i need an excuse to procrastinate on my personal writing projects so i decided to start an account dedicated to just writing. So like, you can request almost anything (limits below) like if you want like a platonic fic just ask! If you want the reader to be the kid or sibling of the character, i’ll do it! You can be as specific or as vague as you want, eventually i’ll get some prompts for help but for now, you gotta wing it. Also I’ll write for like any fandom even if i dont know it, i’ll try my hardest but i’d prefer if you stuck to the list below. Anyways yeah.  (also pfp is nyurei on picrew)
So basic rules,
If youre an nsfw account dni, also i will not write smut regardless of age given i’m a minor
No incest
I’m currently only doing x readers, that might change in the future but for now no ocs or ships
I’d prefer if you didn’t request x reader with an actual person, (ex. Instead of asking for a Maya Hawke x reader, ask for a Robin Buckley x reader)
If you know a character’s sexuality and you dont fit, dont ask (ex. Nico is gay, I will not write Nico x fem! reader)
Please specify pronouns when requesting
Please keep in mind i’m not a professional writer
Please use common sense and dont do something that makes me have to update the rules
Anyways, so fandoms i’ll write for
It 2017/2019: Richie Tozier, Eddie Kaspbrak, Stanley Uris, Bill Denbrough, Beverly Marsh, Ben Hanscom, Mike Hanlon (specify if you want 2017 or 2019)
Percy Jackson: Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Grover Underwood, Piper McLean, Jason Grace, Leo Valdez, Hazel Levesque, Frank Zhang, Connor Stoll, Travis Stoll, Nico Di Angelo, Will Solace
Supernatural: Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Castiel, Gabriel, Kevin Tran, Crowley, Charlie Bradbury, Rowena (does girly have a last name 💀), Jack Kline (platonic only)
South park (platonic only for everyone, they’re children): Kyle Broflovski, Stan Marsh, Eric Cartman, Kenny McCormick, Butters Scotch, Tolkien Black (or is it Token? I swear its always spelled different), Timmy, Craig Tucker, Tweek Tweak, Jimmy Valmer, Wendy Testaburger
Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous/Chaos Theory: Darius Bowman (i’d prefer if we kept it platonic with him but romance is ok i guess), Kenji Kon, Brooklyn, Yasmina Fadoula, Sammy Guiterrez, Ben Pincus,
Marvel: Tony Stark (platonic only, so sorry) Steve Rodger, Bucky Barnes, Natasha Romanoff, Wanda Maximoff, Peter Peter, Ned Leeds, M.J, Harley Keener, Thor Odinson, Loki Odinson, Shuri, T'Challa, Okoye
The Owl House: Luz Noceda, Willow Park, Amity Blight, Edric Blight, Emira Blight, Gus Porter, Eda Clawthorne, Lilith Clawthorn, Hooty (platonic preferred, but if you freaky like that go ahead and ask for romance, see what happens), Raine Whispers
The Umbrella Academy: Luther, Diego, Alison, Klaus, Five (would he date a kid or an adult cause-), Ben (he can be alive or yall could be ghosts), Vanya
Dear Evan Hansen: Connor Murphy (my beloved), Evan Hansen, Jared Kleinman, Zoe Murphy, Alana Beck
Heather: Heather Chandler, Heather McNamara, Heather Duke, Veronica Sawyer, Jason Dean, Martha Dunnstock
Invincible: Mark Grayson, Debbie Grayson, Eve Wilkins, Rex Splode, Amber Bennet, William Clockwell

screw yuo I'm posing them anyways. Divider thing because Big text wall incoming
Mark Grayson - I imagine he caught some pokemon as a kid and kept around all his life. Eelektross because Eelektross doesn't have any weakness if paired with levitate (like...invincible... getting his powers....yeah)+ similarish colors . I can also see him with a yamper
Nolan Grayson - Talonflame (good in competitive + flies + red and white). secretly has a Giratina (world ending pokemon) or some legendary/mythical
Debbie Grayson - I can see her with something modest like a blissey or an audino + a Dragonite so she can go to fun places herself <3
Amber Bennet - togekiss would fit her personality i think. caring but strict if she needs to be. I think she'd also have a snivy but i can't really explain why
Eve Wilkins - Reuniclus physic powers would fit well with hers + Eve's defensive fighting style and Reuinclus's offensive fighting style would compliment each other well I think
William Clockwell - if I'm being honest I have no idea 💀 I feel like he'd have a charizard but I can't come up with an explanation for anything other than he would have fun flying. I can also see him with a bulbasaur
Rex Splode - voltorb. For obvious reasons. Feel like he'd also like a Jolteon
Rudolph/Robot: Golurk because Big Robot. Any iron pokemon. Porygon. Alakazam because smart yeah
Cecil Stedman - i think he would have various pokemon for whatever situation but i think his personal pokemon wuld be a gumshoo. both have the serious old fart thing going for them + I'm sure Cecil would like the tenacity + the ability stakeout would be good for whatever the hell he's doing.
I feel like the guardians + global defense agency would like the swords of justice but I can't imagine any of them catching them (I am biased because the swords of justice are my favorite pokemons)
does anyone want to hear my invincible pokemon headcan[car explodes in the distance]

Amber annoyed mostly cuz she KNEW. She knew he was Invincible and still started bitching about him being a hero.
HE HAS TO. SAVE PEOPLE. You do not come before the earth dammit. You cant feed no homeless people if theyre all dead can you?? No?? Tf.
Like do i hate her? No, im just annoyed by her character and honestly. She shouldnt be dating a super hero if she has an issue. Like go to the light skin when he dumps his gf. I dunno.
The only two humans who can handle dating a hero is Lois Lane and Iris West.
And uh..I dunno from Marvel cuz ..I forgot.
Anyways. I wiiish the black girl could be a main love interest but not when shes annoying about it.
I dont see..how peoplr think Marks in the wrong though. He wanted to tell her but. The world comes first. Also. First relationships dont usually work out anyways.
They could stay friends but dating is just stressing them both out so.

https://www.fanbolt.com/113612/invincible-season-1-review-edgy-adaptation-of-the-comic-book/
Invincible Season 1, created by Robert Kirkman, follows newly-minted teenage superhero Mark Grayson whose half Viltrumite and half-human. The series is based on the comic book of the same name that Kirkman created in 2005.
The animated show brings events forward in time and erases how Mark eased into his new reality as a caped crusader. Mark’s powers are awoken, then bam suddenly he has to learn how to control his new abilities, balance school, friends, and superhero duties, and deal with his family’s drama. Characters like his father Nolan Grayson, a.k.a. Omni-Man, and Cecil Stedman’s real intentions come to light sooner than in the comics. Nolan turns out to be an invading alien force rather than a loving father from a different world, cutting Mark’s time to ease into his responsibilities.
Invincible Season 1 is a fun, violent, and more progressive version of the comic book series. Making a perfect comparison between comics and the television show is challenging, but I will compare the first season with the first volume.
The first volume covers the first four issues of Invincible. Throughout the first volume, Mark still sees his father, Noah, as a powerful, honorable Viltrumite who came to Earth to help humankind. He fell in love with Debbie Grayson; then they had Mark. The whole world still believes that Omni-Man wants to protect the Earth from villains. The Guardians of the Globe are still alive, and Mark’s superhero friends remain in the Teen Team.
Invincible (Mark) has the time to be mentored by his father and take on small-time villains like teacher Mr. Hiles. It’s not until issue ten when Noah kills The Guardians of the Globe, forcing his son to step up and try to defeat him.
In the animated series, Noah secretly murders his “friends” in the first episode leading the audience to be suspicious of him the whole time instead of seeing him as Kirkman’s version of Superman. Every time Omni-Mann acts, there seems to be a sinister motivation, and all sweet family moments are ruined. Mark has to take on the responsibilities of a significant superhero right away while also learning from his Dad. To some degree, I understand why Kirkman made this change because, in television, you need to get into the action right away.
My main problem with this erasure of Mark’s breathing time is that it destroys the ability of the audience to understand the theme of the comic books. Invincible is primarily a coming-of-age story with a superhero twist. One of the main themes is that you realize that your parents are not perfect when you edge closer to entering adulthood. Parents, stop being indestructible “heroes” in your eyes. By witnessing Omni-Man pull apart and destroy the heroes of Earth, the audience can’t see Nolan through his son’s eyes. We lose the comic’s nuanced characterization by not seeing Nolan as a devoted family man; instead, right from the start, he is an insidious alien who is leaving Earth vulnerable to attack. The horror of seeing the murders is tempered because the viewer doesn’t witness multiple episodes of Nolan being a great person who always does the right thing. If Kirkman had held off until four episodes in before having Omni-Man kill his friends, it would have been more of a gut punch, and the coming-of-age themes would seem more visible.
Kirkman updated many of the characters, making them fit into the present-day media landscape that embraces diversity. Mark and his mother, Debbie, are played by two Korean American actors. Steven Yeun performs as Mark. Sanda Oh performs as Debbie. Though it’s not evident by these drawings that these characters are Asian American, it’s clear by the casting that they are of Korean descent. African American actress Zazie Beetz performs as Mark’s first love interest and girlfriend Amber Bennett. In the comic books series, she was blonde and blue-eyed. But after casting Beetz, Kirkman wrote her as a Black character. Mark’s best friend William Clockwell, performed by Andrew Rannell, is an out gay character from the jump. Invincible instantly feels more modern because the majority of the main characters are not white heterosexual males. More importantly, the superhero show reflects the actual world we live in and casts diverse actors.
One of the funniest parts of the series is the gag with the Invincible title cards. The joke happens whenever a character says Mark’s superhero moniker. For example, in episode three, “Who Are You Calling Ugly?” Mark talks to Eve about how he feels after the funeral for The Guardians of the Globe. He explains how if The Guardians of the Globe can be killed, none of them are … edit to a title card stating in the big capital letters “Invincible.” The gag lightens the mood whenever there’s a bloody or a heartbreaking scene. The title cards also remind the viewer that Mark has to inhabit the role of the invincible superhero. Something difficult for Mark because he is still struggling to figure out his own identity.
I would recommend Invincible Season 1 to fans of the comic book series and fans of media that turns the superhero genre on its head. The animated series makes some significant changes from the comics, but Robert Kirkman being at the helm guarantees it still has the same spirit.
