Absolutely. Invest in art. Invest in artists. And if you can invest in an unemployed actor you really like on cameo and you are so inclined -invest in that, too.

Art shapes hearts, minds, souls, and societies. It heals us and challenges us. Invest in it, as you are able. Whether with money or encouragement-invest back into the artists who make the art that makes the world go ‘round.

And for the love of all that’s holy in art or fandom, above all, be kind.

I posted this on twitter but I'll post it here too: I'm a writer and I work in theatre. I am teetering on the edge of being able to do those things full time but I'm not there yet (I spend a lot of time working at my job that pays me consistently that I'd like to spend writing). I know firsthand how hard it is to make a living on your passion or even support your basic human needs on your passion.

I will ALWAYS support paying creatives. Society shits on us constantly. We are fighting tooth and nail for grants and industry support and basic respect. I want us to flourish and I want to make art.

Why is art is expensive?— Chronic stress and constant work destroys creativity, destroys complexity.

Most tasks in life require simple, quick, effective responses.

What we lack in this lifetime is the ability to assign deeper meaning to something you don’t quite understand, to slow down.

Maybe we’ll get it right in the next.
