I miss Secret Garden event :(

As well as this little thing

Since I didn't find the gambling addiction of an event screenshot (probably in the pc archives), stressful as this one was at first the moment you finish it it's pleasing to look at
I don't need Game of Truth and Deceit back, but the vibe of overall experience is wonderful to think about
.. Aside from the fact that the moment you finish all of the events it becomes a bit boring
I'm looking forward to when album will be available to buy for the kingdom though!
#Don't ask me how badly did I zone out while doing Secret Garden - I don't know#The good thing about luck is that I didn't exactly count on the card event or even Secret Garden to give me good rewards#I just enjoyed the process of it all#Sure more Lights of Deceit and Compassion are also great#But I wouldn't have played this if I didn't enjoy the process and peacefulness of the game first and foremost#Amd then occasionally a game of my intuition and luck vs whatever this game had in its code#My greatest achievement was getting both types of sheep in the guessing and not much the prices themselves#Anyway I'm glad you can put Secret Garden ost into the Kingdom since it's a part of PV Album that came out YEARS ago

INTUITIVE LISTEN OF THE MONTH🎧🎶
Something I don’t talk about enough is the way I’m tapped into music and how many times my ancestors and guides use songs to communicate vibes and spiritual messages to me. Growing up as a kid in the early 2000’s we weren't on the internet. We had television and music though. I would binge listen to music growing up. I’m always surrounded by music everywhere. Songs get attached to me, sometimes unconsciously. I have a library of music I can pull from just based on memory alone. Spirit has asked me to use this knowledge and gift to pass energy and messages to you that you may not receive by listening or reading overtly spiritual things like a video full of channeled messages, someone’s podcast, etc. but by just passively listening to some good songs!
What came through for June was Kanye West’s album DONDA! Interestingly enough, Kanye West is a celebrity and public figure who actually has JUPITER IN TAURUS (a transit we’re collectively experiencing now) in his Sidereal Birth Chart! He is currently experiencing his second or third Jupiter Return. Put aside your opinions about him as a person and just listen to the music! Add this album into Rotation for June 2024 and see what happens! Listen to the album without skipping around for once if you’ve listened before or even if it’s your first time!
How does this affect your energies?
What messages did Spirit have for you hidden in this album?
There are different ways to feed your Spirit besides trying so hard to live a cookie cutter “spiritual” lifestyle. Spirit said I gotta mix it up and make sure y’all are PLUGGED IN to that! Comment below if you have answers to these questions or want to share your listening experience/downloads with me ✨🕯️🎶⬇️ Per usual, booking for spiritual services and courses available through the link in my bio!

how to build a digital music collection and stuff
spotify sucks aaaass. so start downloading shit!!
file format glossary
.wav is highest quality and biggest
.mp3 is very small, but uses lossy compression which means it's lower quality
.flac is smaller than .wav, but uses lossless compression so it's high quality
.m4a is an audio file format that apple uses. that's all i really know
downloading the music
doubledouble.top is a life saver. you can download from a variety of services including but not limited to apple music, spotify, soundcloud, tidal, deezer, etc.
i'd recommend ripping your music from tidal or apple music since they're the best quality (i think apple music gives you lossless audio anyway. .m4a can be both lossy and lossless, but from the text on doubledouble i assume they're ripping HQ files off apple music)
i also love love love cobalt.tools for ripping audio/video from youtube (they support a lot of other platforms too!)
of course, many artists have their music on bandcamp — purchase or download directly from them if you can. bandcamp offers a variety of file formats for download
file conversion
if you're downloading from apple music with doubledouble, it spits out an .m4a file.
.m4a is ok for some people but if you prefer .flac, you may wanna convert it. ffmpeg is a CLI (terminal) tool to help with media conversion
if you're on linux or macOS, you can use parameter expansion to batch convert all files in a folder. put the files in one place first, then with your terminal, cd into the directory and run:
for i in *.m4a; do ffmpeg -i "$i" "${i%.*}.flac"; done
this converts from .m4a to .flac — change the file extensions if needed.
soulseek
another way to get music is through soulseek. soulseek is a peer-to-peer file sharing network which is mainly used for music. nicotine+ is a pretty intuitive (and open-source) client if you don't like the official one.
you can probably find a better tutorial on soulseek somewhere else. just wanted to make this option known
it's bad etiquette to download from people without sharing files of your own, so make sure you've got something shared. also try to avoid queuing up more than 1-2 albums from one person in a row
tagging & organizing your music
tagging: adding metadata to a music file (eg. song name, artist name, album) that music players can recognize and display
if you've ripped music from a streaming platform, chances are it's already tagged. i've gotten files with slightly incorrect tags from doubledouble though, so if you care about that then you might wanna look into it
i use musicbrainz picard for my tagging. they've got pretty extensive documentation, which will probably be more useful than me
basically, you can look up album data from an online database into the program, and then match each track with its file. the program will tag each file correctly for you (there's also options for renaming the file according to a certain structure if you're into that!)
there's also beets, which is a CLI tool for... a lot of music collection management stuff. i haven't really used it myself, but if you feel up to it then they've got extensive documentation too. for most people, though, it's not really a necessity
how you wanna organize your music is completely up to you. my preferred filestructure is:
artist > album > track # track
using a music player
the options for this are pretty expansive. commonly used players i see include VLC, foobar2000, clementine (or a fork of it called strawberry), and cmus (for the terminal)
you can also totally use iTunes or something. i don't know what audio players other systems come with
i personally use dopamine. it's a little bit slow, but it's got a nice UI and is themeable plus has last.fm support (!!!)
don't let the github page fool you, you don't have to build from source. you can find the releases here
click the "assets" dropdown on the most recent release, and download whichever one is compatible with your OS
syncing
if you're fine with your files just being on one device (perhaps your computer, but perhaps also an USB drive or an mp3 player), you don't have to do this
you can sync with something like google drive, but i hate google more than i hate spotify
you can get a free nextcloud account from one of their providers with 2GB of free storage. you can use webDAV to access your files from an app on your phone or other device (documents by readdle has webDAV support, which is what i use)
disroot and blahaj.land are a couple providers i know that offer other services as well as nextcloud (so you get more with your account), but accounts are manually approved. do give them a look though!!
if you're tech-savvy and have an unused machine lying around, look into self-hosting your own nextcloud, or better yet, your own media server. i've heard that navidrome is a pretty good audio server. i unfortunately don't have experience with self-hosting at the moment so i have like zero advice to give here. yunohost seems to be a really easy way to manage a server
afterword
i don't know if any of this is helpful, but i just wanted to consolidate my personal advice in one place. fuck big tech. own your media, they could take it away from you at any moment

a bibliography for us Daniel Malloy freaks

(a loosely pulled-together reading list about print journalism, New York, the 1970s & 80's, and the AIDS Crisis. Most of the credit goes to @islandbetweenrivers who started this)
On Daniel Molloy, California Boy
The show never explicitly states if Daniel went to college, but since college students were exempt from the Vietnam draft, which ended officially in 1973, it could be interesting to imagine Daniel in Berkeley.
Slouching Toward Bethlehem by Joan Didion
The White Album by Joan Didion
Berkeley Barb archives (link) -- weekly underground newspaper that ran in Berkeley between '65 to '80
The Daily Cal First 150 Years (link) -- student newspaper at Berkeley
On Journalism
Iphigenia in Forest Hills by Janet Malcolm
From her reporter's seat, Malcolm observes that a trial is merely "a contest between competing narratives". (Guardian review)
The Journalist and the Murderer by Janet Malcolm
“"Every journalist who is not too stupid or too full of himself to notice what is going on knows that what he does is morally indefensible," wrote Malcolm in an opening sentence that caused a sensation in the tiny, self-referential world of posh American journalism.” (Guardian review)
The Freaks Came Out to Write: The Definitive History of the Village Voice by Trisha Romano
“The Voice’s origins were proudly amateurish. One early contributor was a homeless man recruited from a local street; equipment consisted of two battered typewriters, an ink-splattering mimeograph machine and a waste paper basket for rejected submissions. Morale spiked when a staff member discovered that dried pods used in fancy flower arrangements contained opium, which was boiled up in the office when the time came for a coffee break.” (Guardian review)
Note: The Village Voice was THE alt-weekly newspaper and it was run out of Greenwich Village in NYC. Lots of incredible writers start there and then move onto the Times, Vanity Fair, etc. Very much the sort of crowd a young Daniel would be mixed in circa 70's and 80's.
The Night of the Gun, by David Carr
David Carr redefines memoir with the revelatory story of his years as an addict and chronicles his journey from crack-house regular to regular columnist for The New York Times. Built on sixty videotaped interviews, legal and medical records, and three years of reporting, The Night of the Gun is a ferocious tale that uses the tools of journalism to fact-check the past. (amazing rec from @archive-z)
Note: imagine if Daniel did this and then fact-checked his way into remembering that vampires existed
Rogues: True Stories of Grifters, Killers, Rebels and Crooks by Patrick Radden Keefe
Keefe can paint complicated portraits of victims and vigilantes alike while covering their lonely pursuit of justice. He intuits why a Dutch woman who has exposed the crimes of her gangster brother might lie about her present whereabouts. He understands why a man who lost his brother in an aeroplane bombing might spend the rest of his life trying to find the culprit. Again and again, Keefe surmises that even the most detailed of investigations can only speculate about human motives. (Guardian review)
Note: the sort of deeply human longform profiles that feels like the sort of writing Daniel does, based on his masterclass clip and what he reveals in his interactions with Louis
On New York, New York (in the 70s)
Notes from Underground, by Eric Bogosian + Perforated Heart, by Eric Bogosian
In four billion years the sun will explode. But before that we'll run out of fresh water and before that we'll all die of some mutation of AIDS that's spread by coughing. It's not my fault anyway. I can't think about this any more today. I'm going to masturbate.
Note: The OG. What else is there to say.
Ladies and Gentleman, the Bronx is Burning: 1977, Baseball, Politics, and the Battle for the Soul of a City by Jonathan Mahler
In the long sweep of American history, of course, 1977 is not exactly 1865, 1941, 1968 or 2001. Yet from porn shops to gay bathhouses, from Yankee Stadium to City Hall, from the blackout to Son of Sam, from Rupert Murdoch's New York Post to the rise of SoHo and Studio 54, the city was living through what Mahler convincingly calls "a transformative moment . . . a time of decay but of rehabilitation as well.” (New York Times review)
Remain in Love: Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, Tina, by Chris Franz (2020)
Frantz’s account of the early days, when the Heads lived in the pre-gentrified Lower East Side of New York, an almost literal war zone. While searching for a loft to live in, they viewed one building that was on fire. One spring afternoon, Frantz walked over to the now-legendary club CBGB to ask for a gig. The place smelt of “beer, roach spray, dog doo [the owner, Hilly Kristal, had a free-roaming saluki] and Chanel No 5”.
Winter’s Journal, by Paul Auster
Note: To me, Auster is one of the closest real-life Daniel Malloy analogues: born around 1950, literary career in NYC, moved to Paris in the 1970s for a few years, troubled middle-class background. Novelist though, not a journalist. There’s an anecdote in this book about a car crash that feels like a deadass Devil’s Minion fever dream. Crazy stuff. One of my personal favourites
On the AIDS Crisis
And the Band Played On, by Randy Shilts
The book chronicles the discovery and spread of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) with a special emphasis on government indifference and political infighting—specifically in the United States—to what was then perceived as a specifically gay disease
The Journalist of Castro Street: The Life of Randy Shilts, by Andrew E. Stoner
Biography of Randy Shilts that’s very helpful for imagining Daniel in the early 1980s newsrooms covering Karposi’s sarcoma
How to Survive a Plague: The Story of How Activists and Scientists Tamed AIDS by David France (2017)
It’s not easy to balance solid journalism with intimate understanding of a subject, and even harder to write eloquently about a disease that’s killing your friends and loved ones. France pulls it off, in his own words (his description of finding a college roommate’s panel in the AIDS Memorial Quilt is heartbreaking) and in letting his articulate sources speak for themselves. (SF Gate review)
Timeline of AIDS (link)
Overview of HIV (link)
And some films, just for fun
The Panic in Needle Park (1971): Drama film directed by Jerry Schatzberg. Al Pacino is a heroin addict and small-time dealer in Manhattan who falls in love with another addict.
Serpico (1973): biographical crime drama film directed by Sidney Lumet. Al Pacino is a hippie cop (yes, I know, its part of the plot) with one foot in the 1970s bohemian art scene
American Graffiti (1973): teen movie set in 1973 Modesto ("I'm just a shitty kid from Modesto"--Danny Malloy)
The Taking of Pelham 123 (1974): More grimy 1970s NYC stuff
All the President’s Men (1976): THE ABSOLUTE JOURNALISM MOVIE??
Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)
Cruising (1980): 1980 crime thriller written and directed by William Friedkin. Al Pacino is a cop (again) but this time he goes undercover in NYC gay leather clubs
Almost Famous (2000): Set in 1973, it chronicles the funny and often poignant coming of age of 15-year-old William, an unabashed music fan who gets the chance to write for Rolling Stone
Spotlight (2015): More journalism movies! The true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese
everyone say thank you to @islandbetweenrivers for starting this, I just polished up our google docs and posted it on tumblr.
Also if anyone has something to add please let me know!

Carlos was worried that with the breakup he wouldn't get to keep some of the friendships that he had made. And he didn't get to see anyone from the 126 besides Marjan when he had to pick her up. But Grace was still around, she still checked on him. He appreciated it, because now he had this beautiful loft that he and TK loved but he gets to spend his time in it alone. Thinking about the life they could have had. "We were supposed to have game nights here, a life that we could build. Now it just feels too empty." Looking up slightly, he relaxed himself at her touch. He wanted to believe her that it was going to be okay. No matter what. But TK was the first person he had truly loved, and now he was gone. "He said I was a control freak and that's why he couldn't be with me."
Grace wanted to comfort Carlos, to ensure him that things weren't as bad as they seemed and that they'd all be okay. True, the 126 had been shut down, but it was just temporary. They were all getting their jobs back from what she heard, plus a lot of the crew at Dispatch actually felt bad as well and were pushing for it to get opened up a lot faster. "You don't have to do anything with it, baby, don't push yourself. It just happened last week, and you're mourning. That's normal, and it's healthy and you should. You should get it out, deal with it before it gets to be too much." Finally she reached out, her hand grabbing onto his with as much affection as she could from her spot. "You were trying, Carlos, everyone knows that. Even TK. He's not gone. He's taking time."

Rollingstone Article about Jimin - Well Written.
Jimin, the birth of a muse
New
BY. Isak Choi

Only those with their own stories can become the main characters of the stage. Jimin's story becomes even more ecstatic in his second solo album [MUSE] (2024). The title song <Who> entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 31 weeks (as of March 4, 2025). Jimin is writing a new history for K-pop by repeatedly making reverse runs on the Billboard main chart, which is the dream and symbol of success for all musicians around the world. The 31-week entry is the longest entry record for a K-pop soloist, tied with PSY's <Gangnam Style> 12 years ago. Even though it was released during his military service and there was no full-scale promotion, Jimin left his own mark with his sweet and commanding vocals and performance.
The title track of his first solo album, [FACE](2023), <Like Crazy>, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart as soon as he debuted. Following Kyu Sakamoto's <Sukiyaki>, which became the first song by an Asian musician to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1963, Jimin has renewed the top spot for the first time in 60 years as an Asian soloist. With two solo albums that he personally led from composition to performance and visual creation, he proved his clear presence as an artist and his outstanding intuition to continue to survive as a superstar in the competitive global music market.
But the real reason [MUSE] is special is not just because of its high score. In this album, Jimin shows courage to face, determination to confront, and strength to overcome. In an era overflowing with stimulating and temporary topics, Jimin has returned to the basics and solidified his own world by burning with a pure and pure passion for music and the stage. Poet Rainer Maria Rilke wrote in <On Music>, "(Music) is something that is in our deepest self and goes beyond us and breaks through." Jimin, who has started a new chapter as a soloist, has been playing music that powerfully goes beyond himself throughout. That is why his presence flows into the deepest self and creates an unforgettable resonance. This infinitely human narrative makes Jimin's stage even more splendid.
The birth of Jimin
If you ask, 'What kind of musician is Jimin?' I would like to introduce this anecdote. After he finished preparing to release [MUSE], he practiced on stage every day with a microphone, even though he could not perform for at least two years before enlisting. He probably would have to start over from the beginning to wake up his muscles in order to precisely implement the performance of <Who>, which he meticulously perfected by watching the rehearsal video over a thousand times, after his discharge. Nevertheless, Jimin persistently focused on the essence until the very last moment. The reason he was able to quietly head towards the fundamentals without being distracted by the fluctuating reality is probably because Jimin is a person who sees far ahead. A person who knows what to do and where he is going is never trapped in the present.
Jimin once said about his first album activities that it felt like "peeling off my skin." This raw expression lets us guess how unfamiliar and intense the atmosphere must have been for him as a veteran singer and a rookie soloist standing on a new stage. For over 10 years, he must have experienced his life completely changing as a singer and as a person before he became 'Jimin'.
Jimin is a gambler. His life has been a series of battles with the reality before his eyes and with himself, and most of them seem to have been successful. However, Jimin's way of winning, as seen in [MUSE], is clearly different. Until now, he had accepted reality as an opponent to compete with, and had achieved extraordinary victories in a world of fierce competition and proof. He expanded this fierce journey and determination into music and included it in his debut album [FACE]. He created the world of soloist Jimin through a narrative of overcoming the emptiness and irritation of reality that makes him shaken by alcohol and winning freedom and purification. However, in [MUSE], harmony stands out more than confrontation. He absorbed and embodied the vivid reality he experienced while producing and promoting his first album and used it as a driving force to break out of the shell. This may be the reason why the intro title of [MUSE], which took a whole year and four months to complete carefully and purely, is 'Rebirth'. The fact that he started producing his second album during the latter half of the recording of his first album and ended up creating an album with such a different approach proves how rigorous he was in the process of reinterpreting his music and life, and how quickly he is growing as a musician.
The rebirth is proven on stage. Performing the title song <Who>, he shows his transformation from BTS Jimin, who has the power to "eat up the stage," to a conductor and protagonist. In a performance centered on theatrical movements designed with live performance in mind, he intersects with numerous characters and creates sparks of relationships and emotions. His role as the protagonist and leading the breathing of the stage is so precise that it brings about catharsis. Jimin's vocals, which have a special tone and texture that sticks in your ears, have long been likened to 'stardust', but in [MUSE], they go further and show explosions and orbits. The rebirth of soloist Jimin shows how much effort and attempt he made to be honest with the belief that 'singers speak through the stage' in a new reality where he has to reset the expressions and movements he has become accustomed to for 10 years.
The official activities of the title <Who> can be said to be all about the stage of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' in the US, which was filmed in advance before enlistment. The performance time is 3 minutes and 12 seconds. It is a short time to watch a couple of short videos that you can't remember anything about when you turn around. However, Jimin's stage leaves an impression and aftermath that will never evaporate. This is because it contains all the time he went through like a war to complete [MUSE]. Including this stage, the music video, and the dance practice video, Jimin watched the rehearsal video over 1,000 times for just three shots to complete the elaborate performance. He spent a long time of 1 year and 4 months creating an album whose promotion is uncertain before enlistment. This is probably because he knows that the 'class' of music is only the challenge to surpass oneself and the 'layering' of absolute time. Art is history contained in a moment. [MUSE] contains Jimin's determination to capture the infinite without being confined to the reality of limited time and unfamiliar crossroads.
The Birth of a Muse
If you can see the direction of soloist Jimin in the production process, you can see the world in music. [MUSE] is made up of scenes of colorful emotions that only Jimin can describe. Like an omnibus film, this album, with each story and point of view different, tells the story of absolute joy like a carnival, a sad emptiness like the shadow of a big city, and persistent love that spreads through the whole body like awe, with Jimin's expressiveness. If the first album [FACE] was black and white music that swept from the abyss of Jimin, not as an idol, but as a human being, [MUSE] contains a feast of love and inspiration that he explores and expands as an artist. The ecstasy and confusion, passion and drama that these vivid colors and contrasts create is Jimin's world.
The biggest reason Jimin's music feels so colorful is probably because of the tempo. Before his solo activities, he expanded the sophisticated and bold rhythm and expressiveness that he showed through his performances to the entire album. Just as Adagio (very slow) brings sadness and Fortissimo (very loud) brings excitement, tempo in music leads to emotions and narratives. Jimin's solo album has unique emotions that ripple from his own speed, gliding, jumping, and exploding across the stage. In contrast to [FACE], which focused on establishing his identity with music with a unified mood, [MUSE] changes the musical and narrative genres of each track as if he were going on a fun adventure. This time, Jimin shows his competitive spirit, completing the emotions of each track with careful interpretation and expression, and proving his wide spectrum as a musician. In the music that started from the resonance of his origins, you can feel not only the emotions of Jimin as a being, but also his muscles and temperature.
The first track, <Rebirth (Intro)>, which sings of the joy of love with a fairytale-like sensibility, encapsulates Jimin's world. The first album [FACE] showed Jimin's Birth as a soloist. In the second album, he moves on to 'Re'birth. This song captures the moment Jimin opens the door to a new dimension called [MUSE] and takes his first step. The sharp gaze that faced the abyss of the self in [FACE] changes into a light of wonder and optimism, like an innocent being that just hatched from an egg and looks around the world with curious eyes. The black and white world where ash and fire burned becomes a fresh garden full of spring flowers. <Rebirth (Intro)> captures the peak of seasonal changes from [FACE] to [MUSE], and lets Jimin immerse himself in the mystery of life called music. The Muse in Greek mythology is interpreted as a being that gives creative inspiration. The 'muse' in [MUSE] refers to the mysterious world of creative inspiration that Jimin swims in.
<Rebirth (Intro)> is similar in form to the first track <Face-off> from the first album in that it encapsulates the theme of the album, but in essence, it is connected to the double title <Set Me Free Pt. 2>. This song contains a narrative of liberating the self suppressed by fate and being reborn as a new self. In the music video, Jimin, who was locked in a circular prison and danced a primitive dance and yearned for salvation, finally achieves freedom and enters the world of light. <Rebirth (Intro)> is the story of Jimin being liberated from that circular prison. The "pitch-black me" expressed in the lyrics enters the world of [MUSE] for "true love" in order to be reborn and "sing while making eye contact with you." The main character of [FACE] was the 'past me'. In [MUSE], it evolves into 'the present of you and me'. Through the connection of these two seemingly disparate dimensions, Jimin's true world as a musician is born. As a side note, the development where you and I emerge from the pitch-black past and find ourselves shining is quite romantic.
The pre-released song <Smeraldo Garden Marching Band> is a serenade dedicated to his fans, his other muse. It may be a bit complicated, but [MUSE] has two axes of 'muses'. The muse as creative inspiration explained above, and M'US'E, which embodies the 'fans (US)' within 'Jimin (ME)'. This song was inspired by the Beatles' <Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band>. You can see the influence in the long title that ends with 'Band', the track video that was filmed live with live sound, and Jimin wearing a black suit, which is the first thing that comes to mind when talking about Beatles fashion.
However, what is essentially connected to <Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band> is the 'Lonely Hearts Club'. The Lonely Hearts Club refers to an advertisement posted on a bar bulletin board in search of a special someone to fill the loneliness. <Smeraldo Garden Marching Band> is a song about someone sitting alone at a bar table in a big city on a dark night, drinking beer and looking around, and leading them by the hand to 'Smeraldo Garden'. The background of the track video is reminiscent of the Alpine meadows in the movie <The Sound of Music> (1965). In a fairytale-like world where children sing and dance, pollen flies during the day and fireflies light up at night, Jimin sings with love and blessings like a wedding singer. The featuring of Loco, who expressed honest love, is added to convey Jimin's heart of wanting to gift perfect happiness to his fans through music.
In fact, the real pre-released song on this album is the last track, the fan song <Closer Than This>. Released right after Jimin's enlistment, this song conveys a warm message that he will always be by his fans' side, like the moon, his symbol, even at night and during the day when the moon is not visible.
<Slow Dance> sung with Sofia Carson is the only duet song that has been included in Jimin’s solo album to date. “What if Jimin, who has a high and soft vocal range, sang a love ballad between a man and a woman?” If you’ve been keeping an eye on his journey, you’ve probably asked yourself this question at least once, but Jimin has come up with some very interesting results. <Slow Dance> is a romantic band-sound R&B song about a man and a woman in love holding hands and dancing together, vowing to be together forever. When you listen to the song, you imagine a young couple dancing leisurely, looking into each other’s eyes in a warmly lit dance hall among many people, as if they are the only two people in the world. As the main character of this classic scene where the man leads and the woman gives in and dances in pairs, it was inevitable that Jimin would have to think about the role he should play as a male vocalist. The answer he, a romantic Busan man, found was perhaps to be the one who loves more. Jimin savors the lyrics more gently and delicately, conveying the fullness of love. With the sweet harmony of Sofia Carson's soulful vocals, the song creates a very modern and sophisticated mood despite being a classic story.
Sofia Carson's dreamy voice reminds me of the lover's cruel whisper in <Like Crazy>, "I think we could last forever. Trust me." <Slow Dance> is like a happy lucid dream that Jimin in the <Like Crazy> world struggles in the vast loneliness and doesn't want to wake up from.
<Be Mine> follows the lineage of Jimin's 'know-what' songs. It is an Afrobeats song with a lyrical Latin melody that contains a faithful courtship to share love from sun to sun on a tropical island with a hot temperature. It was as popular among fans as the title song <Who>. This is probably because it accurately captured the wish of 'I wish he would do a song like this once'. <Be Mine> is reminiscent of BTS's solo song <Filter> included in [MAP OF THE SOUL: 7] (2020), which is the ancestor of the 'know-what' lineage. It is a seductive and sophisticated Latin pop song, and it received an explosive response that literally turned the fandom upside down when it was performed at a concert. The passionate climax unique to Latin melodies, the exotic percussion sounds that hit deep into the heart, and the unpredictable development are a perfect fit for Jimin, who has a special sense of rhythm. But while <Filter> focused on expressing a seductive atmosphere, <Be Mine> is dedicated to expanding Jimin’s strengths as a vocalist into the genre. Jimin’s solid voice, which adheres to a tight and realistic sound, creates a groove and gives a refreshing and cool feeling.
Sexiness is probably the charm that Jimin can express most easily and overwhelmingly. That is why Jimin is wary of a seductive mood in his solo album. Although <Like Crazy> contains seductive lyrics, it feels like a means of self-defense to hide an intense lack. <Be Mine> is the song that Jimin finds easiest, and therefore requires the most complicated thinking. Fortunately, Jimin seems to have found the answer to how to handle his special weapon.
The title <Who> is a song about emptiness. Emptiness is a longing for something that cannot be reached, a longing for something that has already been lost before it can be had, and yet a completely contradictory emotion that remains absent. Jimin is good at expressing complex emotions. This is because he has an outstanding talent for separating and embodying even the smallest beats. Also, his delicate and unique vocals create unique resonances depending on the composition and harmony, just like an instrument. The spectrum of emotions that he can convey is wide. However, the reason why <Who> has ranked in the upper ranks of the Billboard Hot 100 chart even after 7 months of its release and has broken countless first and best records is not because he has the exemplary conditions to express emptiness. It is because he deeply understands that emotion. <Who> is filled with the despair and wandering, patience and maturity that he confessed in [FACE]. And true music always captures the hearts of the audience.
The music video is reminiscent of the night streets where the main character time-leaps into the future at the end of the movie <Back to the Future> (1985). In a street full of flashing neon signs, screaming protesters, and gusts of wind that can blow away cars, Jimin dances as if he can't hear anything and acts out his loneliness in the crowd. The reverse performance in <Like Crazy> makes his loneliness even more fateful. In <Like Crazy>, Jimin is trapped in his own darkness and rejects all those who reach out to him, so he becomes alone. In <Who>, he approaches first. The pair choreography, which is the climax of the <Like Crazy> performance, where they dance as if facing mirrors but end up not being able to touch each other, is reversed, and he breaks the barrier and goes inside. However, he is unable to find 'Who' in the end, and is left alone in the night streets, completing the emptiness.
Jimin's vocals are particularly outstanding in this song. As a song about an active journey to find 'Who', he shows off his singing style that is as if he is speaking firmly. Jimin controls the chaos of tension and pleasure where sharp guitar riffs and synthesizer sounds boldly collide with his powerful and unique vocals. At the climax where he exclaims refreshingly, "Who is my heart waiting for (Who is the one my heart is waiting for?)", he explodes with the pain of not being able to find 'Who', adding a sense of realism to the song's narrative. The retro sound of early 2000s pop style combined with Jimin's unconventional vocals also allow one to feel an interesting sense of the times. He even released an acoustic version remix recorded right before his enlistment, breaking all the attempts he had made as a vocalist through <Who>.
The Birth of a Game Changer
For a solo singer who started out as a group member, the second album is more important than the first. The first album shows identity, and the second shows direction. In less than two years, Jimin has released two albums that are like his alter ego, in which he personally participated in the composition and arrangement of the songs. Not only has he solidified his own identity and direction, he has also achieved unprecedented commercial success. While making ample attempts as a soloist, he has also expanded the group’s narrative by incorporating symbols of the BTS worldview, such as the Smeraldo flower, as the main concept. And despite all this, he is only 29 years old. As a new game changer in the global music market, Jimin’s future is limitless.

sour — 02: traitor
Synopsis: Harry and Y/N were the "it" couple from 2013 to mid-2014, until things got extremely messy and they broke up. based on the album 'sour' by olivia rodrigo.
(masterlist)
Brown Green guilty eyes and little white lies Yeah, I played dumb but I always knew That you'd talk to her, maybe did even worse I kept quiet so I could keep you
The image of Harry's face, etched with guilt and tinged with a flicker of deceit, flashed through Y/N's mind. His green guilty eyes, as she now thought of them, held a secret, a truth he had desperately tried to conceal. But Y/N, with the intuition honed by months of shared intimacy, had sensed the shift in his gaze, the subtle change in his demeanor.
She recalled a particular evening, just weeks before their breakup, when Harry had received a text message, his phone illuminating his face with an eerie glow. He had quickly glanced at the screen, a flicker of something unreadable crossing his features before he hastily shoved the phone back into his pocket.
"Who was that?" Y/N had asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Oh, just Niall," Harry had replied a little too quickly, his voice a touch too casual. "He's asking about band practice tomorrow."
Y/N had accepted his explanation, but a seed of doubt had been planted in her mind. She knew Harry well enough to recognize when he was being evasive, when he was hiding something. And in that moment, she had felt a tremor of unease, a premonition that something was amiss.
Now, with the clarity of hindsight, Y/N realized that the text message had likely been from Nadine. The little white lies that Harry had sprinkled throughout their conversations, the subtle omissions and evasions, all pointed towards a truth he had desperately tried to conceal.
"I played dumb, but I always knew," she whispered one night to her best friend, one of those endless days where the hours seemed to stretch for forever, and her tears seemed unlimited. When she finally said it out loud, the words were heavy with regret and a touch of self-reproach.
She had ignored her intuition, choosing to believe Harry's words over the whispers of her own heart. She had wanted to trust him, to hold onto the illusion of their perfect love, even as it crumbled around her.
The memory of another night surfaced, this one filled with laughter and whispered secrets. Y/N and Harry had been sprawled on the floor of his living room, surrounded by takeout containers and a half-finished bottle of wine. They had been talking about everything and nothing, their conversation flowing effortlessly as they shared their hopes, dreams, and fears.
At some point, the conversation had turned to relationships, and Harry had confessed to feeling suffocated by the intensity of their public image as a couple. Afterall, they were both A-listers and in the mere eye of the public. "It's hard," he had admitted, his voice laced with frustration. "We can't even go out for a coffee without being hounded by paparazzi. It feels like we're living in a fishbowl."
Y/N had understood his feelings, but she had also felt a pang of insecurity. "Do you ever wish things were different?" she had asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Harry had reached for her hand, his thumb tracing circles on her skin. "Never," he had said, his eyes locking with hers. "I love you, Y/N. And I wouldn't trade our relationship for anything."
But even as he spoke those words, Y/N had detected a flicker of doubt in his eyes, a hesitation that had sent a chill down her spine. Now, she realized that even then, he had been contemplating a different path, a future that didn't include her.
"So… he'd probably talk to her while he was with me, maybe did even worse," she murmured, the words catching in her throat.
The thought of Harry with Nadine, their bodies entwined, their laughter mingling in the air, sent a wave of nausea through her. She had tried to push the image from her mind, but it lingered like a ghost, haunting her waking moments and invading her dreams.
The realization that Harry had betrayed her trust, that he had been unfaithful, cut deeper than any of his words or actions. It shattered the foundation of their relationship, leaving her feeling lost and alone.
Sarah –her best friend– held her hand, trying to comfort her. “And why didn’t you say anything?”
"I kept quiet so I could keep him, I fooled myself." she confessed, her voice cracking with emotion. She had been so afraid of losing him, of facing the reality of their crumbling relationship, that she had chosen to ignore the signs, to bury her doubts deep within her heart.
But her silence had been in vain. In the end, she had lost him anyway, and the pain of his betrayal was magnified by the knowledge that she had allowed herself to be deceived.
And ain't it funny How you ran to her The second that we called it quits? And ain't it funny How you said you were friends? Now it sure as hell don't look like it
Another lonely night stretched before Y/N, her thoughts consumed by images of Harry with his new girlfriend. She clutched her phone, Harry's contact open on the screen. Her thumb hovered over the keyboard as she typed, "Ain't it funny how you ran to her the second we called it quits?"
The image of Harry and Nadine, hand in hand just weeks after their breakup, was a constant reminder of his betrayal. It was as if he had been waiting in the wings, ready to claim Nadine the moment Y/N was out of the picture.
"... and ain't it funny how you said you were friends?" she continued, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Harry had insisted that Nadine was just a friend, a nice girl, but that was it. But the speed with which their "friendship" had blossomed into a full-blown romance spoke volumes.
Y/N's mind drifted back to a conversation she'd had with Harry a few months before their breakup. They had been discussing a mutual acquaintance who had quickly started dating someone new after ending a long-term relationship.
"I don't understand how people can move on so quickly," Y/N had remarked, shaking her head in disbelief. "It's like their previous relationship meant nothing to them."
Harry had nodded in agreement. "It's disrespectful," he had said, his voice firm. "It's like they were already emotionally invested in someone else before the breakup even happened."
Y/N's stomach churned as she remembered those words. How could Harry have been so hypocritical? How could he have condemned someone else for the very behavior he was now exhibiting?
"Now it sure as hell doesn't look like it," she muttered, anger and hurt rising within her. The photos of Harry and Nadine, plastered across magazines and websites, were a constant reminder of his betrayal. They were laughing, kissing, their bodies entwined – their happiness a cruel mockery of Y/N's pain.
The injustice of it all burned in her chest. She had given Harry her heart, her trust, her everything. And he had thrown it all away, discarding her like a used tissue, replacing her without a second thought.
"Friends," she scoffed, the word leaving a bitter taste in her mouth. Harry's claims of friendship were a joke, a thinly veiled attempt to justify his actions. He had betrayed her, plain and simple. And the fact that he was trying to downplay his relationship with Nadine only added insult to injury.
Y/N's fists clenched, her nails digging into her palms. She wanted to scream, to lash out, to make him feel the pain he had inflicted on her. But she knew it was pointless. Harry had made his choice, and there was nothing she could do to change it.
You betrayed me And I know that you'll never feel sorry For the way I hurt, yeah You'd talk to her When we were together Loved you at your worst But that didn't matter
Y/N tossed and turned in her bed, the sheets tangled around her legs like a web of restless thoughts. Sleep was a distant luxury, replaced by the relentless replay of memories and the gnawing ache of betrayal.
"I can’t believe he betrayed me," she whispered into the darkness, her voice cracking with unshed tears. "And I know that he’ll never feel sorry for the way I hurt. He doesn’t care"
The realization stung, sharp and piercing. Harry, with his carefree spirit and charming smile, had always seemed immune to remorse. He moved through life with an air of effortless grace, leaving a trail of broken hearts in his wake.
Y/N had seen it before, witnessed the casual way he'd dismissed past relationships, the nonchalance with which he'd shrugged off any responsibility for the pain he'd caused. And now, she was just another notch on his bedpost, another casualty of his fickle affections.
A wave of nausea washed over her as she remembered the countless times she'd excused his behavior, the endless justifications she'd concocted to explain away his flaws. "He's young," she'd tell herself. "He's still figuring things out." Or, "He didn't mean to hurt me. He just doesn't understand the impact of his actions."
But deep down, she knew the truth. Harry wasn't clueless; he was careless. He was selfish. He had the whole world in his hands. And he would never truly grasp the depth of her pain, the way his betrayal had shattered her world.
The memories flooded back, relentless and unforgiving. Late-night whispers, stolen glances, the lingering scent of Nadine's perfume clinging to his clothes.
She remembered that from time to time, he’d talk to Nadine, while he was with her. Y/N choked at the thought, the knot catching in her throat. The realization that their relationship had been crumbling long before the official end, that Harry had been emotionally entangled with another while still in her arms, sent a fresh wave of agony through her.
And yet, she had loved him. Loved him through his mood swings, his insecurities, his moments of self-absorption. "Loved you at your worst," she whispered, a bitter laugh escaping her lips. "But that didn't matter."
She had poured her heart and soul into their relationship, offering him unwavering support and unconditional love. She had forgiven his mistakes, overlooked his flaws, and celebrated his triumphs. But in the end, it hadn't been enough. Her love, her loyalty, her devotion – none of it had mattered.
Y/N buried her face in her pillow, the tears finally flowing freely. The pain was overwhelming, a suffocating weight that threatened to crush her.
It took you two weeks To go off and date her Guess you didn't cheat But you're still a traitor
The calendar on her nightstand mocked her with its red-circled date, a cruel reminder of the swiftness of Harry's betrayal.
It took him two weeks to go off and date her. Two weeks. A mere fourteen days since their world had imploded, since the promises of forever had turned to dust.
And in that blink of an eye, he had moved on, seamlessly transitioning from their intertwined hands to Nadine's eager embrace.
The injustice of it all clawed at her, a bitter taste in her mouth. While she was drowning in a sea of grief, wrestling with the wreckage of their shared dreams, he was already building a new future, a future that excluded her entirely.
Guess he didn't cheat…
she thought, a hollow victory in the face of overwhelming hurt. Technically, he hadn't physically strayed during their relationship. But the emotional infidelity, the clandestine conversations, the growing connection with Nadine while still under the guise of friendship – it all felt like a betrayal of the deepest kind.
But he’s still a traitor.
She accepted the words, a loud accusation in her mind. He had betrayed her trust, her love, her faith in their bond. He had chipped away at the foundation of their relationship, brick by agonizing brick, until it crumbled beneath the weight of his deceit.
The label stung, a brand seared onto her heart. Traitor. The word echoed in her mind, a constant reminder of his duplicity. He had played the role of a devoted boyfriend while secretly harboring feelings for another, weaving a web of lies that had ensnared them both.
God, I wish that you had thought this through Before I went and fell in love with you
A heavy sigh escaped Y/N's lips as she gazed out the window, the city lights blurring into a kaleidoscope of colors. The night was a mirror of her emotions, a jumbled mix of sadness, anger, and regret.
She wished he had thought this through.
The words hung in the air, a lament for a love that had been carelessly discarded. If only Harry had paused, had taken a moment to truly consider the consequences of his actions, to weigh the depth of their connection against the fleeting allure of something new. If only he had recognized the treasure he held in his hands before carelessly tossing it aside.
But wishes were futile, a hollow comfort in the face of a broken heart. The past was immutable, a tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and ultimately, betrayal. And now, Y/N was left to pick up the pieces, to mend the shattered fragments of her dreams and forge a new path forward.
The road ahead would be long and arduous, filled with challenges and setbacks. There would be days when the pain threatened to consume her, when the memories of their shared past haunted her every waking moment. But Y/N knew, deep in her heart, that she would survive this. She would emerge from this crucible stronger, wiser, and more resilient than ever before.
She would learn to love herself, to trust her instincts, and to never again compromise her worth for the sake of another. She would embrace her independence, celebrate her strengths, and pursue her passions with unwavering determination.
And one day, when the wounds had healed and the scars had faded, she would find a love that was true, a love that would cherish and respect her, a love that would stand the test of time.
A love that would make her forget the pain of Harry's betrayal and remind her of the boundless capacity of the human heart to heal and love again.

Leave it to *Billboard* to write an article about Beyoncé and make it about somebody else entirely. They claim the only reason they didn’t choose the other person was Beyoncé's longevity, but I can give you more than just that reason for choosing Beyoncé over anyone else. Beyoncé has the vocal capability of an opera singer, the dance skills of the best dancers in the world, and an unparalleled intuition for making a difference in the industry—she changed the game with that digital drop! Her visuals pushed everyone to step up their game, and her storytelling through her albums is something that deserves to be studied.
Not only that, but she has been a loud advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, gave us *Renaissance*, and has spoken clearly about her stance on racism in the USA. This woman’s career goes beyond anything we could have imagined 27 years ago when she first entered the game. She has earned the respect of her idols—Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Prince, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, Whitney Houston, and more.
This list should not be about sales. It should be about artistry and the act of creating work that transcends time. In that regard, the other person wouldn't even come close, I guarantee it. However, we all know the real reason behind *Billboard*'s rant, and it starts with a big R. White supremacy and white women's feminism often go hand in hand, trying to make us believe they are better than those truly doing the work.
So open your eyes, because even if you don’t like Beyoncé, you certainly know that list is not the most accurate one. Otherwise, Gaga would be up there behind Beyoncé!
Also, where is mariah carey? Or jazmin sullivan in that godforsaken list? What about Janelle Monáe or even Miley Cyrus?

Sambastian is known as Sun/Moon pairing but I bring you: THIS type of Sun/Moon

I think people like to brush Sam off as this dumb/himbo character or a golden retriever type of guy but like guys… he’s very intuitive and can be serious if he needs to. I mean, he carried the baggage of being the temporary paternal figure for his seven-year-old brother (especially with the constant worry of his dad actually dies in the battlefield) so I definitely think there are some unresolved tensions somewhere in him. I think he’s similar to his mom where both hide and eventually distract their true feelings (Jodi with chores while Sam with his devil-may-care attitude). To me, Sam (and to an extent, Jodi) is like a ticking time-bomb.
So imagine this:
Sam is passionate when it comes to his craft. The label that picked them up a few years ago loved them, but they need to keep up with their demands or else they’d be replaced with another fresh-faced, youthful band. Their previous album sold amazingly, so predictably, this new one needs to be on par or, better yet, surpass it.
It was different now than it was back then. Then, they could mess around with their instruments and have jam sessions to pass time in Sam’s bedroom before Sam even had any ideas for the lyrics. Now? They can’t even be in the same room with him because Abigail and Sebastian distract him too much.
And it wasn’t like they couldn’t help with the lyrics! Sure, Abigail can’t really write lyrics, but Sebastian worked with him on their previous album. Yes, their lyrical styles are different, but variety is a good thing, right? So why must he do it himself?
Sam can’t even take care of himself. It was jarring to see him go outside his room just for bathroom breaks before locking himself in again to write with his new guitar, as the old one was smashed due to his frustration. Sebastian wasn’t even sure he eats, sleeps, or drink for that matter. Sometimes he brought some refreshments for him, but they were left untouched, and the door was still tightly shut.
It was somehow worse when he finally left the room with papers clutched rather tightly. The papers were crinkled, pen ink was smudged on some of the pages, but nonetheless, they had something.
Sam, however, was in terrible shape.
His hair's a mess, more so than usual. His cheeks were hollow, and dark circles formed under his watery green eyes. His figure was gaunt; his long limbs somehow made him loom over the both of them more. It was alarming to see the usually youthful and bouncy Sam being more... well, like Sebastian. Yet, somehow, even more sickly.
But the bright smile and the small crinkle on his nose and eyes were still so Sam. Sebastian then realized just how much he missed seeing those, especially if they were directed to him.
He just wished Sam wouldn't look like a slight wind could knock him down right now.

"Forget the song...focus on your health"

Idol au, y/n is an Idol
.......
Youve been quite stressed and unwell because comeback season is soon and the finishing up of your album is killing you. You're currently working on a song with straykids. You've never written a song with them and you're really excited. You've never interacted with straykids much, only saying hellos and HIs at award shows. You've also expressed to each other how much you really want to work on a song together, which brings you to now.
You're sat on the couch as changbin sits in the chair instructing han on his verse. Today it's just you, 3racha and one other producer.
Chan's on his phone next to you on the couch as you wait your turn in the booth. The headache you've been feeling for sometime decides to remind you of its existence as a sharp throbing pain hits your head. You've haven't been feeling too well lately, nausea and constant light-headedness have plagued you not forgetting the said headache. You've been eating well. Sleeping well, well not really, but you've been eating well that should be enough.
But its not enough. You've been having them for like two weeks or more, you haven't counted. You've only been taking pills to sooth the pain, not going to the doctor assuming it will be fine and it will just go away, just like the other times. Have you told anyone? Well your friend, but you just shrugged it off as stress and told them not to worry.
But now you think it's otherwise as you feel a wave of heat rush over you even though the air in the room is cool. Your vision goes blurry as your head starts to slightly spin. You grip the arm rest of the couch and rub your temple.
Chan notices your behaviour and scrunched up facial expression and turns from his phone.
"Are you okay?" He asks
"Yeah yeah" you smile weakly at him, "I think I've just been tired lately"
"Understandable" chan chuckles and smiles at you still a little concerned as you turn and try to focus in your phone screen.
For a few minutes your strong enough to endure but as the minutes go by the feeling gets worse then unbearable unlike usual. You wish you could get in the booth, sing your verse and go home. But you're very sure that you won't be able to enter the booth and do a good job.
It's getting unbearable as your temperature rises and you feel yourself boiling, you could just strip. You try and stay a little stronger cause you don't want to embarrass yourself during your first session with straykids in the studio. You feel bad that you know you won't be able to record today and that you're gonna set everyone back.
You decide to stand and maybe go rinse your face in the bathroom. As you do you stumble a bit but it goes unnoticed. You walk through your spinning vision and mind, you can barely pinpoint where the door is. This has to be the worst you've felt ever. Your steps are slower and you begin to breathe a little deeper. You're trying your best to go unnoticed but nothing goes unnoticed when you're legs give in and you fall hitting your head on the stand by the door and finally you hit the floor. You barely feel anything cause your mind goes blank and your eyes shut, darkness your only scene.
Everyone's attention is quickly on you as chan who's closest rushes to you, lifting your head off the ground. You're not bleeding, but he notices You're unconscious and your skin is burning hot.
Changbin who was on the chair now standing by chan looks over you, concerned and worried. He pulls out his phone to call an ambulance as chan calls out your name multiple times, worry engraved in his tone. He holds you in his arms like a little fragile egg as his eyes don't leave your face. He watches your unconscious face, you look relaxed. Chan uses the sleeve of his shirt to wipe the little droplets of sweat on your face. Your cute face he thinks. He noticed that your weren't okay, he should have acted on his intuition when he could've maybe you wouldn't have fainted. That isn't true you would've fainted anyways cause you've been neglecting yourself.
Changbin's a little worried whether you're breathing or not, but chan reassured him that you are after he checked, multiple times.
Soon enough the paramedics arrive and take you to the hospital as discreetly as possible. Chan should've just driven you to the hospital himself, but he knew they'd say no to him.
Chan, changbin and han were worried sick about you. Chan has been in contact with your friend through your phone. And when they heard that you were awake and in recovery they were relieved.
"Why are you still worried I'm fine" you say through the phone not sounding fine to chan at all.
"I'll have to come visit you myself to believe" he says softly "cause you don't sound fine."
You laugh through the phone and it lightens chan's heart to hear you laugh.
"You wanna come visit me?" You ask seriously
"Yeah, I care." You blush at that.
"Anyway the doctor said I can be out in a week" you inform, cause your situation was bad you had to stay a little longer.
"After that we can work on finishing the song" chan sighs as you say that.
"Don't worry about the song"
"Right now focus on your health. Get better the song can wait" he comforts you and you feel a little less guilty now.
"The boys said, they hope you get better and their gonna said you some gifts"
You smile even though he can't see it.
"That's not necessary, but thank you"
"Try telling that to a worried changbin and han" you both laugh at that.
"They wouldn't take no as an answer" you say wanting to cough but holding it in so that chan doesn't hear.
"Anyways" his voice lowers as he runs his hands through his hair, though you can't see it.
"What do you want me to bring when I come see you?"
