Koemi Okano was aware of who she was since she was little and that self-awareness was something that never faltered, even as she grew older and had to attempt to squeeze into the little box that her parents wanted her to fit into, following in the footsteps of her perfect older sister, an older sister who seemed to be everything that their parents had wanted in a daughter. She did what they asked, followed their rules, and respected her parents in the way that she knew she should, because at the end of the day, they were her parents and she loved them so she wanted to make them happy and proud of her. Sometimes, she felt like an after thought, the back up plan for if her sister ended up disappointing them, if the older girl ended up being someone they didn't approve of. Jokes on them, because everything they didn't want her older sister to be, Koemi was. She was rebellious, outspoken (wouldn't shut up most days no matter what she had to say and had an even worse time holding her tongue), and determined to one day get out of the little box she'd stuffed herself into, even if she didn't quite know the entirety of it yet. Instead, it happened little by little. She insisted on playing sports instead of being president of a math club or a language club. She failed a test here and there in middle and high school just because she could. Most importantly, she spent her sophomore year of high school trading kisses with one of her best friends under the cover of her bedroom during sleepovers until her mom walked in and she was never allowed to see that friend again (the next week followed with a dinner with two of her parents' friends who had a son who was her age and for a little, she crawled back into that box that her parents created for her). College was a new adventure for her. Being out from under her parents thumbs allowed her the opportunity to explore herself in ways she hadn't quite dared, and even though she was there for a degree in a major that her parents had chosen for her, accounting so that one day she could join her sister at her father's firm, she lived life the way she wanted to; binging scary movies and kissing pretty girls. After she graduated and started working at her dad's accounting firm was when they stopped bringing up the fact that she was chronically single and should find a nice guy to settle down. Koemi worked hard to please them in her career so they would forget about the other parts of her life that she wasn't ready for their noses to be snooping in. That was, until she met Rosalie. It was another bleak day of Koemi having to drag herself into an office she hated to stare at the same beige walls she'd been staring at for two years that she also hated, but meeting Rosalie in the coffee shop beneath her office building made that particular day feel anything but bleak and it didn't take long for the two to start dating and eventually get married. It was in between the dating and the marriage that Koemi finally tossed aside the worn down little box that she'd been trying to fit into her entire life and quit her job at her father's accounting firm, telling her parents that account wasn't anywhere close to her dream (while also breaking the news of her fiancée to them — it may have been a little much, but she was always one for a few theatrics). Everything was like a dream after that. Her new career as a realtor, founded on one overly large and slightly haunted house, her marriage, and the move to Briar Ridge to settle down for a fresh start with her wife. The dream career continued, but her marriage quickly turned into a nightmare a few years later, leaving her divorced at the age of thirty-one. Determined not to put herself into a box again, Koemi moved on over the last year and a half, throwing herself into her career and hosting some killer Halloween parties in the mix.

THE INTRODUCTION

Born into one of the most haunted cities in America, expecting Koemi not to fall in love with the weird and supernatural and the smell of rotting wooden beams of the centuries old houses filled to the brim with history and spirits would have been like expecting candy to shower from the skies whenever someone was craving something a little sweet. It was next to impossible — but it doesn't mean that her parents didn't try. Growing up, there was always the expectation that Koemi thrived at school. Academically, she was expected to keep on top of her homework, join an amount of clubs that would look good on her future college applications, and balance a sport or musical instrument on top of that. For the most part, she succeeded in academics and making her parents happy, but the only reprieve she found was on the soccer field. Sports games were one thing her parents didn't show up to and she could simply be with the other girls on her team. Having an older sister who seemed so perfect did nothing to help her seem like she was excelling to the level their parents held them to. While her sister had things like the academic decathlon and proficiency in things like the piano, advanced biology, and almost every spelling bee from elementary school under belt, Koemi couldn't exactly put founder and president of the high school paranormal society on her Princeton application, could she? She imagined that would fit nicely right under daydreams in class and likes to kiss girls beneath the bleachers of the soccer field. Eventually, none of it really mattered because, while she agreed to eventually work for her dad's accounting company after graduating college, her stipulation was saying no to any college in any kind of league. Instead, she chose to accept the offer she received from Clemson University, staying close to the old-style cities she loved in South Carolina. Her years in college turned into a job as an accountant and the beginning of a married life with her husband. She was settled. Except, she didn't really feel settled at all. It took a few years of punching numbers at a desk in a cubicle and a friend in Charleston that was looking to sell their home for Koemi to realize she wasn't happy with what she was doing with her life and, at the risk of disappointing her parents and not living up to all her older sister had become, she handed in her resignation with her father's company and found her calling as a realtor instead. With her husband accepting and supporting her career change, she found herself following him to Marshall Island after his own job description changed and they quickly settled into life on the island.

THE HEADCANONS

It seemed like fate that the night Koemi and her husband moved into the house on Marshall Island, a black kitten started hanging around their yard, trying to dart inside at any given chance as they were unloading boxes. With a near empty house and nothing unpacked, they accepted the kitten into their home.

Despite being married for years and expected to be well on her way to starting a family, that hasn't happened for some reason. Whether it's because she's been avoiding it or they've been trying and haven't been successful, this would inevitably be up to plotting with the future husband's player.

DOUBLE KILL SUMMER STATION CONCERT 2017

On August the 10th, Double Kill Records hosted their very first concert. With the lineup containing most of their groups and artists as well as new and refreshing units to bring the summer vibe back, 2K Records showed what they are made of with the free open air concert! The label proved their artists’ talent with the refreshing performances. To read more about their concert and see who performed what during the said day, read the information you will find down below! Enjoy!

Opening the concert with a small MC segment introducing the lineup for the day MC-ed by Trainee Matthew & Creep’s Soo, the concert starts off with a solo performance from 2K’s male soloist ‘J.HA’ and a performance of the new sub-unit ‘Sirens’. Following the performances, another segment introduces an interview with Double Kill’s CEO ‘Kwon Byungjo’ hosted by Unplugged’s Chandler & Trainee Matthew. A short conversation is held about the origin of the label as well as some explanation on the debuts of each group and artist under the label. The next lineup contains the two of the known duo’s under 2K, followed with yet another introduction segment on the lineup to follow after, MC-ed by Mellow’s Sophie & Trainee Oliver with ‘Creep, Lux and Mellow’. The next segment once again introducing and talking some about the following lineup ‘Unplugged and Lucid’, hosted by MC’s Soloist Taehyun & Creep’s Koemi. After the performances of those said groups, another of the Sub-units specifically created for the Summer Station concert are introduced before they finally step on stage and perform the new songs. Following a performance of Trainee ‘Oliver’ hosted by Lotus’ Nami & Willow. The concert ends at 5:30 PM with a last performance by all artists under 2K Records.

WHAT WOULD BE THEIR TWITTER NAME? WHAT SORTS OF TWEETS WOULD THEY TWEET?

TWITTER NAME: @koeminamg She wants it to be simple, as shes not one to try and think of something fancy. Her handle came to her in one of her freestyle raps during her younger days, where one line was “I’m Nam-to-the-G.”

As for tweets, she doesn’t post too much, as she’s not sure what to post. Mostly, she posts positive messages that her lablemates might see, or slight whining about being tired. Sometimes she posts pictures of her “sister,” a shiba puppy named Cocoa. Aside from that, she often will communicate with her friends there.

WHAT’S THEIR FAVORITE GENRE OF MOVIES? OF MUSIC?

Koemi actually REALLY loves horror movies, but not so much the ones that are more gore-porn. She enjoys things that leave her in suspense, and make her want to know more. However, because she startles easy at loud noises, she often jumps at some jump-scares. As well, she likes to watch ghost horrors to laugh at how the ghosts are portrayed.

For music, she generally likes all types, and doesn’t have a specific genre. Her playlist is essentially “If I like it, I’ll listen to it.”

An assortment of dramas shes started, but never finished. (She’s finished Tazza 2, at least.)

WHAT’S THEIR FAVORITE SCENT? DO THEY SMELL LIKE THAT?

Koemi really enjoys the smell of saltwater. She grew up along the water in Busan, and that beachy-saltwater smell always makes her think of home. Being deep in the city of Seoul, she misses the beaches of Busan.

She doesn’t smell like this, though Instead, she smells more like cucumbers and melon.

Her favorite is spring, while her least favorite is Winter. She doesn’t like being too cold.

Koemi has only ever been intimate with one person in her life, and she was very submissive, thus, that’s all she ever knows how to be.
